This is, hands-down, the best bar in Dallas if not all of DFW. Its an LGBTQ+ hub for queer Democratic political activists and Dallass Democratic officeholders. The atmosphere is fun, but its a mature, sophisticated fun. This is not the place to get plastered and dance with guests. The drinks are good and reasonably priced for the Strip, and the food is pretty much gourmet. Try Chic-Fil-Gay. Youll thank me. You should be thanking Lee, the owner, prominent activist, cool, kind, and all-around delightful owner. You can tell he put his heart and soul into creating this unique bar on the Ceder Springs Strip.

A couple of friends and I stopped into this bar last night and it was a great experience!!! The cocktails Chris and Eddie made were delicious and they gave amazing service! We tried the chick full gay nuggets and fries and that was delicious as well. Will definitely be stopping by again next time Im in Dallas.

I had an awful experience at Alexandres Bar in Oaklawn. The bartender, Garret, was incredibly rude and had a terrible attitude. His customer service was non existant , and he seemed more interested in being unpleasant than doing his job. It was clear from his behavior that he has personal issues affecting his work.After my visit, I read through other reviews and noticed multiple negative comments about Garret, indicating a pattern of poor behavior. Its evident that the owners don’t seem to care about addressing these ongoing complaints.I would not recommend this bar to anyone looking for a good time. The management needs to seriously reconsider their staffing choices if they want to keep their customers.

Fun staff and vibe. They have so many tvs playing awesome music videos made it a real treat. They have a great drink selection and fun food.

The bartenders do not get along and one makes it a point to bring that drama onto the patrons. We asked for a 🍒 in our drinks as he was putting one in the glass next to ours. He rudely told us he would not help us bc we had ordered from the bartender next to him. It would have taken him two seconds to accommodate our request and we would not have never thought anything about it. Other than the bar drama, it is worth checking out for a cocktail. Just make sure you get a good bartender.

Honestly I like the idea of this place but I wish they had seating that was more conducive to more than two people. If I was more into sitting at a bar and listening to live music Id be more into the place I think.My boyfriend struggled to get a bartender to get him a drink, however, so that was frustrating to watch.

My friends and I were here the other night for one of my first nights out in a while, since I’m ALSO in the service industry. We had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with Garrett. Not only was his service absolutely disgusting and awful, but he got upset with us for NOT tipping him more money. Listen, I understand times are tough. I’m also in the industry myself. But you don’t give out terrible service, have an attitude and then expect us to give you more money when the service wasn’t even a D+. Guest experience should be your priority!

I was so happy to find a place that had gluten free as I have celiac, and a queer friendly place at that! But once I actually came here I was misgendered and called the wrong pronouns despite a giant pin on my shirt indicating my pronouns. Food was pretty good but I don’t think I’ll be returning

Excellent place always love coming here. Bartenders are always friendly with great personality and they can make really any drink you want. People here are amazing.Food is great too. I have a sensitive stomach and never had issues eating here. From Fried Pickles to Chicken Nuggets (Chick fil Gay nuggets to be exact) to a Caesar Salad everything is delicious and on point.

A wonderfully friendly staff. Also, while I was there they decided to burn some cinnamon!? It smelled divine! It really made the atmosphere great

The food was absolutely amazing! My husband has celiac disease so we are always on the hunt for celiac-safe food. Their nuggets, tenders and wings were all gluten free and DELICIOUS! We kept raving about how good the food was—best bar food we have ever had. The service was excellent as well! We can’t wait to come back for date night to enjoy some live music and have a cocktail with our meal!

Honestly, I go out in Oak Lawn all the time and never knew this place existed. One of those “hiding in plain sight” kind of things. Stopped by on a Monday afternoon and it wasn’t busy. The bartender took a minute to get to us but was super attentive from that point forward and was very friendly. I was just happy to find a place that serves sazeracs in the gayborhood. Albeit, not the best but definitely not the worse. If you’re looking for somewhere smaller in Oak Lawn to hangout, this may be the place for you!

Great place in three strip that not only has great drinks but food! You can tell they care about the ingredients and quality of the food they prepare. Go there for dinner as well as drinks. Very convenient if youre out enjoying the strip and want some good food.

Disappointing Experience with Garret at Alexandres BarMy recent visit to Alexandres Bar left a sour taste in my mouth, courtesy of the abysmal service provided by Garret. Despite his lackluster performance, he had the audacity to berate us for what he deemed an insufficient tip.From the moment we stepped in, Garrets demeanor was less than welcoming. His service was sluggish, and it seemed like our presence was more of an inconvenience than an opportunity to provide hospitality.Not only was Garret rude throughout our time there, but his entitled attitude towards tipping was downright appalling. Instead of reflecting on his own performance and understanding that better service equates to better tips, he chose to lash out at us, the customers, for his own shortcomings.In any establishment, customer service should be paramount, yet Garret failed to grasp this concept entirely. His behavior tainted what could have been an enjoyable evening, and I would caution anyone considering visiting Alexandres Bar to steer clear of Garrets section if they value even a modicum of respect and courtesy.

Old white lady Bartender took my card for an unpaid beer and lost it. She left the bar and came back claiming she never took my card. This raised a red flag for me because it resembles a lot of fraud scams. Next day they find my card. I go to pick it up, owner is rude and saying I lost it. Do not recommend

This bar has been a favorite of mine for years. And now the new restaurant area is very nice with great food (great craft cocktails too!). The LGBTQ sandwich and Asian Buffalo Tenders are my favorites. Best little bar on the strip!

I always have the best time at Alexander’s! Dylan and Nick are always welcoming and serve up the best drinks. The food is tasty and offers casual fancy with their cheese board or traditional food with a twist like their Asian Buffalo Tenders or cedar Springs Burger. No matter what I’m in the mood for Alexander’s has me covered.

When you’re looking for that place in the Gay community in Dallas that serves amazing cocktails, has live music, a very diverse clientele who aren’t afraid to touch every subject from Grindr to politics; this is your place. I return here often and try to bring a friend whenever possible. Although you can find a guy or two who are a bit touchy feely for my taste, the bartenders are absolutely amazing, and I find the prices of the cocktails easy on the pocketbook!

One of the best bars on the strip. You can get a classic cocktail or something simple. Everything they use is super fresh and great quality. They even have a good selection of top shelf and boutique level liquors. The perfect place for a calm night cap. Also, all bartenders are amazing, especially Jeffery.

Local community bar in a rainbow neighborhood. It was closed when I was outside, so I cannot speak to service, etc., but it looked nice from the outside.

Drinks are delicious and the bar is small and intimate. Its a cool find on the strip and gives you some options if youre looking for a more chill night. Their outdoor seating is especially nice because you can seek out an isolated corner or fully participate in everyone elses night, depending on your mood. Staff is really nice, too!

Alexandre’s has been a favorite spot of ours for several years and when my husband and I needed a venue to host our 30th anniversary, it was the obvious choice. By the time we thought of having the party we only had a couple weeks to put it all together, but when we brought the idea to the owner Lee, he assured us that he would take care of all the details. He and his outstanding staff provided everything we needed and more. They put up beautiful rainbow balloon decorations above the area reserved for the party and served champagne and appetizers throughout the evening. The only thing we did was choose the colors; Lee and his staff completely took care of us, and we clearly made the right choice for our 30th anniversary. Now Alexandre’s isn’t just a great bar to us - it’s the future venue for our 35th anniversary!

Bar owner is super cute!!! His hospitality is off the chain!!! He crafted a custom drink based off my list of things I liked. He a even put a lil sultry dance with my drink as he delivered it. Great time! Fun atmosphere. No fuss! Come as you are.Ill be back!

Bar owner is amazing, drinks are delicious and reasonable, and the overall feel of the place is so positive. The workers have great personality and really care about the clientele. The boss really cares about the workers. The way a business really should be run, and it shows because you feel the positive energy as soon as you come in. An incredible, inclusive community.

I had a great time last night , this bar is amazing it has great music. Today I bought a beer from them and they accidentally charged me for someone else’s drinks I didn’t know till I woke up and checked my bank account. I called the owner directly because I wasn’t getting anywhere with the people working at the time , that’s why I give it 4 I had to find the number online the bartender didn’t give it to me to help me but when I did find the number lee the owner gave me a refund no problems at all, very respectful man. Even after it all, I would definitely still come back! But definitely will watch out for overcharging next time

The owner, is a self proclaimed Socialist, which is comical on its own. He has a $12 chicken sandwich on his menu. Socialist? I think not or his prices would be more affordable for the masses. The food is mediocre at best and the service is slow and rude. The chicken sandwich was dry and way too salty. The fried brussels sprouts taste like they were fried in the same pot the chicken was fried in. Horrible! Do yourself a favor, spend your money for a good meal and a real restaurant.

One of the few places in the area with LIVE entertainment, great food and craft cocktails.Used to be smaller but didnt matter, everyone that loves that place including myself, fit there no matter what!Now expanded and has a lot more room and a great patio that goes out in the middle of Cedar Springs so you can sit down under a colorful umbrella and look Chic while people watching since is such a busy strip! The owner and crew are amazing and they ve got the experience! Most have been there for over a decade! Yes! Is the place where EVERYBODY knows your name!I cant recommend an specific dish because I love it all! Good vibes! Ive only met two bartenders. Zach and then his wife who work together as a great team. They definitely show customer service at its finest in their field of work. As far as the bar itself; a very cleanly, nice looking, eclectic atmosphere

The “straightest” gay bar on the strip, it nails that vibe of acceptance and love. The bartenders are very friendly and everyone here is approachable.

My friend time here and loving the vibe. I am here for the Monday open mic and the place is packed already. If you want to do something on Mondays visit this place. Though the open mic is every other Monday. Look it up first if you plan to join or just enjoy the environment and listen to great local comics.

I like this place because it is a great place to go and grab a good cocktail....an actual cocktail. These people keep it classic and fresh with their extensive cocktail menu and use fresh ingredients including in house made grenadine and bitters. Located at the beginning of the strip...it is a great place to get your evening started. I always go near the end of the evening....thats when the locals come out and play.

I love Alexandres! Honestly, when I first went there I only did so because of a friend. However, I must say that it has grown on me significantly. The staff is very friendly and all know how to mix up a great cocktail. The variety of music is great. Especially the live bands that play here frequently. The space is small but welcoming and there is a patio to enjoy some fresh air or do some people watching.

Where to start! Since the remodel last summer this place has really been changing for the best. You can have a nice craft mixed drink and listen to live music on most nights. Its a small bar with sophistication. The staff is down to earth and one of the best places on the strip.

In the 6+ years coming here, I have always been treated with respect, decency and lots of love. Maybe except one time but I’ll excuse it cause it was from a patron that I never saw again. Definitely, the place to be at!

Best gay bar in Dallas!

Great place to go for drinks and the food looks amazing. Bartenders are all very nice and attentive. However, I was harassed by a drunk regular because I am gay and it took the bartender a little longer than it should to show the guy to the door. Despite my being gay, a man should never get in the face of a woman and try to bully her.

Love love love the atmosphere! Chill upscale right in the Gayborhood! I get Chinese Next door then come over for a drink while I wait. Live entertainment is great! Great drink selection as well! Friendly upbeat crowds! Lively and Loud!

I really like this lounge. It definitely fills the gay piano bar void left by the closing of the Hideaway. The remodel of the patio area is welcome. Alexandres always had a higher-end feeling to it, but the new patio is the icing on the cake.

NOT STRAIGHT FRIENDLY. My girlfriend and I are new to the area and we live very close by. We were excited to have a local bar within walking distance. We went there recently. We sat at the bar and were told quickly that we had been over-served and that we needed to leave. We were not intoxicated at all. Meanwhile, the bartender was lifting up his shirt and rubbing cherries on his nipples as hes putting them into drinks. So, whos really out of control here? There are plenty of other places nearby to spend your money. Also, I find it sad that a culture that promotes tolerance and acceptance can be so exclusionary.

Nestled between a doughnut shop and a late night Chinese, to-go only, grub spot, this charming little bar on Oak Lawns Cedar Springs (The Strip, as known by the gay community) is a hidden gem. With many live acts, themed nights, and all the classic cocktails you can imagine, and more, its at no wonder why so many loyal patrons frequent this establishment. The bartenders and staff are lovely and entertaining, so having a seat at the bartop is highly coveted. Youll definitely want to be front and center when Jeffry does his Breath of Fire during Vero Vozs rendition of Disco Inferno (on Fridays if Ive piqued your interest). Cant find a bartop stool? There are a number of intimate booths that are known to squeeze two lovers in one seat. You wont regret your visit to Alexandres when taking a respite from the bustle of the other larger, louder clubs and bars of the Strip.

What can I say, Im not gay but I love this Gay Bar. The staff is always prepared for friendly conversation and they love it. They host many meetings for local activists groups and the owner is a well known person of influence to locals as well.

Rude, Kimber was hateful. Unless youre a regular, dont expect to get good service. The bartenders will ignore you and wait on their regular customers. They dont even acknowledge your existence. Very snobby, pretentious attitude. Horrible parking too. Go to the eagle. No attitude there!

Its like Cheers. A dark, sloppy, rapey Cheers. I enjoy the atmosphere. I also enjoy vaping indoors and attention from suggestive older men. They pour heavy enough to drown my sorrows, baptize me with booze, then flood my basement. Forreal, the bartenders have always had my back and are charming fellows. Karaoke nights are amusing and low-key. Theres no countertop in the bathroom so you have to do your drugs at the table. Chef house is nextdoor. Ive thrown up a lot of Chef House.

Updated Review: Came on a Sunday. Atmosphere was good. But drinks were watered down, which is not a good look for a cocktail lounge where drinks are more expensive than others. (Down graded to 3 stars from 5 stars.)

Great place to relax!!!: A great neighborhood / video / live entertainment bar with a diverse crowd and an always friendly staff. Nice ambiance and always a decent crowd with a lot less of the Dallitude that you find at most other locations on the strip. From the not-so-innocent, young to the the gracefully not-so-young, Alexandres caters to them all. The prices are a little steep, but sometimes you gotta pay for sitting at a solid granite bar with hot bartenders and live entertainment. Uhm.....more like you always gotta pay for those features. Never had a bad experience at Alexandres. Alexandres is small and can get a little cramped at times, but ususally thats not a bad thing! :)

How does the bartender in a cocktail bar not know how to make a cosmopolitan. Drinks were weak and overpriced. Bar back took our order and we had to wait another 15 minutes to place the order with the actual bartender.

Great on the stip, but off the strip kind of bar. One of the few not owned by the Cavin corporation so they can afford to not be a generic, hollow shell of what the gayborhood used to be like. Added plus that they have unusual and old school liquors and liqueurs in stock - and bartenders that know how to make the drinks properly.

Alexandres is such a welcome alternative to the bars of Cedar Springs. It is laid back and unpretentious but with a classic flare that creates a cool ambiance that gay men desire. During the day, the bar makes it easy to relax with friends over martinis. At night, Alexandres is the only place on the strip where you can catch live music 5 nights a week. This is the kind of place where most of the customers know the bartenders by name, and after one night, you will too.

Nice bar. The fact that you have to walk through the outside smoking area to get in or out its not great and its nasty. Please take some of the money and do a pressure wash on that area.

Small gay bar with mostly older crowd, a few beer taps with half being local craft brew. The patio is just out front but good to view the people walking around.

Amazing venue been here before and they have some of the best drinks ever and great price every Tuesday they have Broadway on a Tuesday which I got to perform at once and it was one of the most fun things I got to do also they have great music and its live music!!!

I was physically assaulted by their staff member Kimber Fletcher over an unpaid tab that I forgot about. She behaved like a common thug. I cannot believe any establishment would allow their staff to behave this way. I used to bartend so Im no stranger to people walking their tabs, never once have I assaulted someone over it.

Bar is a little small, but the bartenders pour some tasty yet strong drinks compared to the other bars in the area.
