Barbara Pavilion, situated in the heart of Bishop Arts, offers a unique and inviting atmosphere. Arriving around 10:30 pm, we found the place initially quiet, but it quickly transformed into a lively hub of activity. Despite its unassuming facade, the bar boasts reasonable drink prices and convenient parking spots nearby. Known as a karaoke dive bar, Barbara Pavilion attracts a colorful array of patrons, each contributing their own musical style to the mix. For a glimpse into the fun, Ive included some videos for your enjoyment. While its important not to set overly high expectations for a dive bar, Barbara Pavilion consistently delivers an authentic and enjoyable experience, embodying the spirit of laid-back camaraderie and spontaneous fun.
Jade is the sweetest cutest bartender ive ever experienced. she always makes sure you are taken care of and makes the best drink. the vibe of this place is so sick, it has really cool 70s style furniture and pretty lights. cheap drinks! definitely recommend!!
I love this place! the first time I moved back to Oakcliff I came to this bar and jade was my bartender. she has made my experience so amazing every single time I have come. the only reason I come here is for her and kelly. they make this place incredible and a safe solace for everyone. I will forever keep coming back as long as jade is here!
Really clean place. I live the decoy and aesthetic. Top notch spot, 100 percent recommend.
This place is awesome!! Youll miss it if youre not familiar with the location, but if you make it in the front door the bartenders will absolutely take good care of you! The patio is super quaint, with razor barbed wire along the wooden fence!! I dont care where youre from, but razor barbed wire, prison style, is freaking awesome!! Great prices, friendly people... well worth stopping by!!
Barbara’s is a neighborhood dive bar I’ve been going to since I moved to Oak Cliff 15 years ago. The bar hasn’t changed a lot during that time, but you’re guaranteed to find friendly clientele!
The BEST! The karaoke is so fun, the people are super nice, the drinks are good and the vibes are amazing!
Every neighborhood needs a Barbara’s Pavillion; a gay dive bar that welcomes all, and all show up! You won’t be dazzled by the hidden store front entrance, under whelming ambiance, or limited liquor selection, rather, the friendliness of the staff, and locals, and their fair drink prices. Known for great karaoke and spoken word on select nights of the month, Barbara’s still operates as a private club, so be ready to scan your ID upon arrival. If your thing is sitting at the bar chatting up the bartender, a fun game of billiards, or a smoke with friends on the patio, you can do them all at Barbara’s Pavilion. Maybe you’ll see me there belting out a tune. Heads up, parking is tricky! Xoxo Lorenzo!
The drink I had was good .. the rude old gay who said he was the manager isn’t a good look for this place . Cheer up . The bar was nasty while he sat down doing nothing
Barbara’s Pavillion changed my life for the best! I first began coming to Barbs in 2014, and I quickly fell in love with the atmosphere, the friendly crowds, and the glamorous environment! It’s a neat little place, and very unique when compared to other clubs in Dallas. A visiting friend from NOLA, complimented the club saying they felt very welcome and that it reminded them of home, as well! There’s just something about Barbara’s- it’s magic!
I love coming here but cant help but feel like the people that work/ come here are racist. DJ DeeDee that comes for karaoke is very curt when it comes to song requests that arent in English. She always has an annoyed face when I go up to her. Newsflash! People speak more than one language. I was told she carries French songs so I was hopeful that shed have something in Spanish- but it seems like appealing to a Latino audience isnt really important to her (despite there being a decent amount of Latinos that visit.)
Love this spot, good cheap drinks, small porch outside. The aesthetic is so fun! Pool table and karaoke some nights (something I tend to avoid hahah). Parking kinda sucks, the lot right next to it will tow so I usually park on the street if I drive there. Love taking friends here!
Always enjoy going here when I have the time , Dan is an excellent bartender with a great sassy kinda personality also karaoke on Saturday nights is a great crowd with an amazing host Dee,.If you ever in oak cliff check it out
What a terrible experience! This bar has a mask policy, which is fine. However, its clear that the policy only applies to certain African-Americans. After being insulted and berated by the security guard, we asked all of the leaving patrons if they were required to wear a mask upon entry, and they were all surprised to hear that it was a requirement. We watched as the security guard allowed people in without masks, but continued to refuse us entry. The owner was no help either, even when the security guard physically came towards us like he was planning to hurt us. We were excited about going somewhere new, but I cant recommend this place to you if youre black because its potentially unsafe for us. Hopefully they will learn from this experience and treat people better. Ive never written a review like this, and I dont do so lightly, but I felt compelled to make sure it doesnt happen to anyone else.
Very iconic, interesting bar. Chill atmosphere. The patio is wonderful (enclosed a floor high, in the back)- great ambiance with the string lighting. Easy going. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Prices may NOT reflect tax (kinda odd). Tends to attract a younger noir crowd. Martinis are a good choice here. Cozy inside. Parking can be a minor issue. The area is being remodled, but the neighborhood is still in change, so be catious regarding saftey. Overall a good chill, upscale bar.
My favorite Dallas queer dive bar!!
Great place to hang out. The wife and I enjoyed the atmosphere. The drink prices are reasonably less then most places. Friendliest bartenders one can encounter.
Fun local gay bar in Oak Cliff. Has some talented singers during karaoke. Drinks are reasonable. Nice small outdoor patio for smokers.
I thought gay bars were supposed to be fun, inclusive, and cheerful.Someone remind the staff , pls
This place has great prices, friendly staff, and has a very welcoming vibe. I recommend karaoke nights for a lively experience. Driving by, you would not think that this place exists, but fortunately it does!
I like that they didnt allow smoking inside, and I like that me and my wife got some non-alcoholic drinks for cheap/actually what theyre worth.
Rude staffSupposed to be a fun neighbourhood bar.If you want that, go somewhere else
They need more bartenders. Service is so slow on a Friday with 1 bartender!!!! Awful. I used to love this place.
You must get by Barbaras. I came here after hearing about it from at least 6 people. If you like karaoke in dive bars with the nicest people in the city, than you must get by Barbaras at least once if not every weekend.
Great place, great company. They really make you feel home. Fun Trivia: Scenes for the movie Sordid Wedding were filmed here.
Lady who does the karaoke is a complete jerk. Won’t speak to you tell you where you on the list, never coming back.
Had a most awesome time. Went Sunday with friends. Nice cold cold Miller Lite!! Very nice friendly bartender. Ill definitely go back!
Nice small bar with great bartenders and enjoyable people. Drinks are good and reasonable. No food served but Wendys , QT, and other places around for food beforehand.
Love this neighborhood spot!
Such a great place for a hangout with friends. Chill, small, hole in the wall with all the vibes! Karaoke is a must!!!!
It seems that most of the major cities in Texas have a gay bar named barbs. but this barbs is the best
At least 3 people from our group got drugged and two ended up with over 300 in unfounded charges. The bartender is creepy and rude. Be careful.
Feels like a big gay family! karaoke on Thursdays and Saturdays. My favorite place to go out in DTX!!!!
An awesome low key place to hang out. A great 30s and up bar. The karaoke talent is pretty impressive.
Excellent staff and service. Ask for Lisa, great bartender!
I love this bar but is it still open? I just went and the doors were locked, lights were off.
Disgusting experience to say the least.
Its a great bar, friends and family, plus best bartenders, Dan, Steven and Christy .

One of the best little bars in Dallas. You cant show up and not have a great time
Small and cozy and everyone was friendly and courteous. Awesome little dive bar!
I love this bar. Great decor. Cool people. Hip and awesome.
The bartender plays on the computer too much. But other than that its a great place and a great time!
You will love the cocktails served here. Go ahead and enjoy.
Steven is the sexiest bar tender. Great cocktails.
Such a great down to earth bar, great bartenders and atmosphere
