Salon 230 Spa Above

We were very disappointed in our services. We are from out of town, attending a wedding, and we wanted to come get styles and curls. There was 4 of us all together. Extremely over priced. One girl they charged $95 for a “evening style” when all they did was curl the hair.The stylist didn’t even ask my sister what she wanted when she wanted beach curls. She blew dried her hair straight. Not even in a blow out & charged her $60 for straight blow dried hair. We’re so confused. My family is hair stylist so we understand pricing and how things works.My sister in law, same thing, didn’t even ask her what she wanted and blew dry it pin straight. There was a problem with the check out system at the end and my sisters stood there for 10 minutes while the owner showed her clients her new espresso martini recipe, ignoring them, knowing that we were on a time crunch.She was also drinking while at the salon by the end slurring her words. We called the salon to let them know we were unhappy and the older lady who answered told us we can come back and fix it. We told her multiple times that we had to go to a wedding and she continued to argue with me and telling me to come back.So disappointing when we were so excited to get our hair done for a family wedding. We would like refunds for this terrible experience.

Always have loved this place, when it comes to hair cuts and color. Not sure what happened this last time, but unfortunately I wont be back.The 1st 3 photos were immediately after leaving salon taken in my car, before I pulled off. The rest of the pics are before. I feel like there isnt much difference. My main reason for going was bcs I wanted less blonde on top. Low lights and chunky highlights. Anyways it cost me 450.00 its never cost me that much just for partial highlights and roots, a trim that took 5min . Im not sure what happened but Im definitely upset about having to find a new spot. 450.00 bucks and there is barely a difference

Jade and Glenna made me look like a rockstar. I didn’t know I was going to be leaving as a redhead, but I’m so glad I am. I felt like family and will obviously be back. I won’t trust anyone else.

Rarely deviate from our regular manicure/ pedicure place. But during my spouse’s birthday… we chose something more than usual. Extremely happy that we did. Olivea and Tylen made her feet and hands look delicious. Highly recommend them.

Needed a salon last second to help with gel polish removal (I’m not from this area). Olivia was gentle, kind and so friendly! She even gave me a few tips to help maintain nail strength in between polishing as I usually do my own nails. I loved being greeted by the friendliest pup!! I highly recommend as the rest of the staff was friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Stay great ladies!! And thank you for your hospitality.

Super cute place and super talented at what they do! I always leave looking and feeling like a queen 👸 They are reasonably priced and use quality products. They offer many different adult beverages while being there too! I recommend the Frose🍸😁

Came here with my boyfriend and we both got haircuts. Didnt get what we asked for AT ALL. I wanted a trim and the lady cut way too much off. I asked for long layers and she cut layers so short I could barely tuck my hair behind my ear. Extremely disappointing. It has been months since getting cut here and my hair is still a mess due to this haircut!

The massage that Judith did was absolutely amazing. 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐The manicure that talin did as you can see in the picture was not even a manicure. She didnt soak my cuticles nor did she clean them up. ⭐⭐The pedicure that Mari did was absolutely great. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Needless to say that I will be back for Judith and Mari.

It really pains me to leave this review, but after what I have experienced I feel that I need to. I have been going to this salon for a few months now and have had small amounts of breakage, but overall was satisfied. At my last appointment of getting a root touch up and hair cut my hair was over processed and fried to the point of mush or hay. When the stylist proceeded to blow out my damaged hair the brush would not go through my hair and ripped out a good portion of the hair I had left. My hair was completely thin to the point of strands and proceeded to fall out when I got home. I could not run my fingers through my hair and it felt completely matted. This has been one of my most traumatic experiences and I have been getting my hair bleached for two years. The hair cut was uneven and because of the amount of damage done to my hair the stylist did not want to finish the cut. The damage was so bad I needed to chop my hair to a bob to make it look decent, my hair was down my back and I needed to cut about 4-5 inches. It will take at least 6 months to a year to recover from the damage done. I unfortunately will not be returning.

My friend booked massages and pedicures while we were down vacationing and Judith and Jennifer who did our massages were fantastic. For me, one of the best Ive ever had. Olivia and Mary did excellent pedicures and kept us entertained with pleasant and fun conversation while we drank wine and beer. :)The downstairs is a hair salon and may or maynot have a dog running around. Im a huge dog lover but being in the salon industry I literally thought we walked in the wrong place and we walked back out. The owner may want to consider a seperate entrance to upstairs or perhaps place the dogs away from the front. Just a suggestion. Some clients may be afraid, allergic, or someone from the health dept. may get a call. Not sure how Florida is. Anyway, we loved our experience and def recommend seeing any of those girls upstairs. If ever in Daytona Beach in the future, I will be going. back to Judith. A+

Elise Gardner is the best hair stylist I’ve ever had! She really listens to what I want and also gives me her suggestions. She has sometimes pushed me out of my comfort zone (with my approval of course), and I’ve never left her salon anything but pleased! Aside from her wonderful work as a stylist, Elise is a breath of fresh air, funny, sweet, and a great listener.

They didn’t put my eyelash extensions on, but they fit me in and took them off. I had a horrible allergic reaction while on vacation. I called the salon and they told me to head their way. Other salons wanted me to wait until the next day. I am so very thankful they helped me in such a horrible situation!! Thank you again so much. The salon was gorgeous, super friendly and caring staff and they had the cutest most sweetest dog in there!!

The location for this salon is just amazing! Nothing beats brand new hair with the wind of the ocean. I had the best time with my stylist. She was awesome and fun and very knowledgeable. I opted for a chocolate brown color and a bob cut. It was the best idea ever and my stylist walked me through styling it. It was a great experience.

I got my hair colored here and the stylist was extremely rough. She pulled my hair hard throughout the dying process and rushed through it leaving hair uncolored. She sprayed water in my ear when washing many times and she brushed my ears so hard they hurt and are noticeably red. I am Autistic and its hard enough to go into a salon but being treated and touched so roughly was extremely painful and uncalled for.

If you want an amazing haircut/highlights/balayage and great conversation too, see Elise! I have super-thick hair and she always left it looking and feeling fantastic. She is very personable, fun to talk to, and all around does great work. I truly enjoyed being a client of hers for many years!

I went to Salon 230 while vacationing in Daytona. Judith gave me the best massage Ive ever had in my life. Abigail gave me some perfect beach braids that were still looking great after 3 days. Highly recommend both of these ladies.

Elise is a very talented stylist. Ive went to many different stylist because have difficult hair,or maybe Im difficult, whichever, Elise exceeded my expectations and my hair always not only looked great when I left her chair, but it was easy to maintain and have a great look between appointments. I have thick, wavy, difficult hair, with alot of unwanted gray. Elise made my hair look gorgeous. I cant recommend her enough. In addition to her incredible creativity, Elise is wonderful to spend a few hours talking with. You will leave with gorgeous hair and a new friend.

I have never had anyone care about my hair as much as Dean did. He took the time to get to know me and what I really wanted and did exactly that (with his own personal touches to make me look amazing!). We went here for my sisters destination wedding and were extremely disappointed with the service and how our hair and makeup turned out. When we first got there, no one really acknowledge us, not even the owner. We asked if we could make mimosas and they said no problem but we were later charged a cork fee since they too supplied alcohol. It wouldnt have been an issue if they would have told us this in the beginning. As far as the hair, my stylist was very nice but my hair was not. It was falling out before I even left the salon! and not one curl was put in it for the up-do. She also used black bobby pins in my blonde hair....Our makeup however was horrible! Both my mom and sister asked for a natural look and they got dark, smoky eyes. A lot of the eye shadow powder fell below their eyes and the makeup artist just kept blending it into the concealer so they were all dark under their eyes as well. They honestly looked like raccoons. She did not know how to put on false lashes either! I had a gap between mine and my real lashes and my moms were too long since she didnt cut them so they started to come off. She did not blend or fade the concealer in. We all had obvious lines on the side of our necks and chest where it ended. Luckily, the hair stylist who did my sisters hair did fairly well and touched up my hair and our makeup before we left. Save yourself the stress and do not go here for any wedding hair or makeup!

Elsie was always amazing! I always felt stunning leaving her salon. I would go in with an idea, and she would tell me what she was gonna do and how to accomplish what I was going for (going from red to blonde was certainly a challenge!) she always cared about me as a person, not just a client. Elise styled my hair a few years ago for my wedding. I’m not typically an updo person, but I wanted it pulled back for my wedding day. She executed it perfectly — soft and romantic without looking harsh. Additionally, she was able to accommodate 10 bridesmaids and the chaos of a huge wedding party. She was professional and worked SO hard to please the group!

Janelle was my hairstylist she was amazing. My color and cut came out exactly like I wanted, not to mention she gives a great head massage while washing your hair. The atmosphere is nice and the the employees are as well.

Elise gardner is the best! She consistently gave me the best hair cuts, she moved to florida and it took about 2 years to find a stylist who could cut my hair as well as she did. All around great person and is as good as they come.

Definitely not a place for eyebrow waxing. Lighting was terrible and she didn’t tweezer clean up after. Also called ahead and lady on phone said they charged $12.. then after the waxing she tried to charge me $15 for a half a^* job lol..

I discovered Salon 230/Spa Above on the Downtown Daytona Beach Food and Wine Walk. I had been looking for a good massage therapist since I moved here and have found a great one in Michael. I called on Wednesday and spoke with a very friendly woman on the phone who said it would be no problem to get a massage on the upcoming Friday. Michael gave me a great, relaxing massage. He spoke with me about my concerns and worked to make sure I got all the knots worked out as well as providing a nice, relaxing massage. Definitely will return. Really love the look and feel of the salon, too. Very relaxed and friendly, will be trying other services!

Elise was great!!! My daughter had her hair cut and highlighted and I had mine foiled. We both absolutely love our hair! Elise was very helpful with her suggestions. We had a great day!

My sister, Mom and I have been going to Salon 230 for years. Amy does all of our hair amazing, which is impressive considering my mom has short course hair, my sister has medium wavy hair and I have long stick straight hair. She does a great job at adjusting to our personal preferences and style. Amy does a great job too with a blow out and hair styling for special events.We always get so many compliments on our hair and its because of Amy!

I would have given lower than 1 star if that was an option. I made an appointment for a 415pm pedicure for today and showed up early at 4pm for my appointment. I even had an on-line confirmation, which I was very impressed with. When I arrived at 4pm the one technician in the salon was cleaning the salon to close it. She said she didn’t have an appointment for me and even with my confirmed appointment emailed there was nothing she could do because the owner told her to close up the shop and she had already clocked out. EXTREMELY horrible customer service. I walked out shocked and disappointed and immediately called Bellegant Nails on International Speedway Boulevard. I received outstanding service and an amazing gel pedicure.

I had a facial and a mani here. The facial was amazing and relaxing, the lady was super nice. I cant tell this about the manicure. I have dry skin around my fingers which I either cut off or bite. The lady barely wanted to touch me saying I have a condition. After I convinced her that its only my dry skin she started the manicure. She started removing my cuticles. I bleed pretty easy. So my fingers started bleeding. I told her she is fine and it doesnt hurt, I thought she was concerned because of causing me pain. But not. She started complaining that she doesnt want to touch me because she has no gloves on, and she might get some disease from me. I dont think thats how you should treat your customers. If you dont like touching other people who might bleed while you are cutting their skin, than dont work at a spa.Overall she finished my nails, they looked nice.I definitely recommend the facials there, but I wont go back for manicure for sure.

Stopped in for a shellac manicure, they had so many colors to choose from plus a friendly atmosphere. Clean and up-to-date...loved my nail tech, Janelle. She was very knowledgeable, I would deffinetly recommend.

I walked in just now and was ignored for an awkward 45 seconds. Two women who I took as employees, were sitting in chairs eating. One with bleach in her hair. Mind you, I’m the only one in the salon. They asked if they could help me. I said, “I just want a trim.” They paused awkwardly for nearly one minute and said “we’re about to be booked with appointments and I’m doing my own hair at the moment” she says with a smile. I’ve just never been so uncomfortable before....

This is my secomd time at this salon. The first time i took a friemd there, because while i wasnt ready to get a haircut for myself, i really wanted to check it out. Its artsy and fun looking.This time i went in without an appointment and was lucky enough to get Felicia. Not only did i find her to be a kindred spirit, i got the haircut i saw in my mind. It was perfect. I would recommend her and this salon to anyone.

Rarely is there a stylist with creative imagination and the skills to create the look, but I can tell you that Elise has done that for me many times. She will listen to you, make suggestions, or follow your instructions. You can be as specific or vague as you like and you will walk out looking and feeling fabulous.

My wife and I went to get a couples massage for our vacation.I got the therapeutic, she had the relaxation.I cant say enough good things about the politeness, service and cleanliness.For my first ever massage I would definitely go back.

Most people come to this lovely, comfortable Salon for either hair treatment or a visit to the Spa...not me...I come to have a glass of premium wine at their cozy bar. Surprising good wine selection...the bar has become so popular they are expanding to include an outdoor patio. Cheers!

My friends and I were very disappointed with our experience getting pedicures here. We booked pedicures in advance. Not only were they not ready until 20 minutes after we arrived, but they didnt tell us until we got there that they only had 2 pedicure stations and 2 women to do them (and one of the women came 15 minutes after we started). Also, one of the women working brought her young child with her, who was about 5 or 6 years old. The child was not well behaved, he threw tantrums and cried a lot, and kept picking up the pedicure utensils and trying to use them on our feet. The mother (who was trying to contain her son while also doing our pedicures) did nothing to contain her child other than yell at him, which just made him cry more and throw a bigger tantrum, and made our experience even worse. Because she was distracted, she did a terrible job on the pedicures and rushed each person out of the chair. The whole situation was super inappropriate and unprofessional. We paid a lot of money for a relaxing day out - not to have to deal with someone elses badly behaved child. This isnt a situation that paying customers should have to deal with. The only redeeming thing about my experience was that the other woman who did my pedicure did a good job and was very professional, when not having to constantly deal with her co-workers son playing with her pedicure utensils. Additionally, no one working at this place was able to do nail art, which is somewhat of a basic for a place that does mani/pedis. Overall, Im very disappointed with the experience we had, and cannot recommend it to others for manicures or pedicures. I think this place has the potential to be great, but they really need to work on creating a more professional environment.

This place is the best been in Florida for 5 years and me and the hubby have found our spot and our girl Elise. She rocks and she knows what she is doing.The place is just overall awesome. Would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

I recently visited this salon for a quick fix on my shellac.Was very impressed with the spa area and how knowledgeable the girl was abut their skin care line. The staff was very friendly and professional. I definitely be back the next time Im in Daytona.

Worst Hair Color of my life! My hair turn copper. I wanted medium cool brown. She attempted to fix it the second time the next morning, but made it worse. I wasted 8 hours of my life. If you have dark thick hair do not go here. They do not know how to handle it.

I had a good experience after a 17 hour drive and our condo not being ready. Arlab washed and trimmed my hair and its super cute. Both my daughters and I got spa pedicures from Arlab andJanelle using real honey and sea salt and it felt amazing. Definitely recommend and they take walk ins.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! 😡 On March 4th my niece and I went to get our hair done. She wanted something wild and she was so excited about it. But unfortunately she sat in Cats chair. 6 DAYS LATER the color I paid $215.00 for came completely out after only 2 washes using shampoo WITHOUT sulfate. A few days after the color was gone my niece gathered the courage to tell me that all the money I spent on her hair was a waste. It is now 16 days past the date her hair was colored and though I have an extremely busy schedule (a job, an internship, and 6 college courses), I called the salon only for Cat to tell me that I should have called sooner or had somebody else call. Now they want to charge me to get her hair touched up. You HAVE GOT to be kidding me!

Elise was friendly and pleasant but extremely sloppy in her work, This is how she sent me home after dying my roots, she did not use a brush to color my hair, she used a thin mix of color which took her 2 minutes to dye my hair, I should see how long it lasts.

The nail tech was nice, but she didnt have any music on during my pedicure and I had to walk up and down really steep steps to get to where she is set up. I dont want to have to walk down stairs with wet nail and disposable flip flops on

Ive had several services done from haircut and color to waxing to massage and facial. I leave there feeling and looking amazing every time! The ladies are very nice and helpful. Love this place!

I have had two wonderful experiences with michaella at salon 230 she is very personable and can do it all Ive had total transformations from cutting to layering to highlights to toning to the Brazilian blow out and Im super impressed absolutely love her and my new dew 6 stars

I want to do full eyelash strips but they do them pompano Beach or here in Daytona full eyelash and eyebrow painting and tinting supposed to cost for full eyelash $25 and eyebrow $25 and waxing I dont see this here at this place I dont like it thank you bye-bye

Vera is 100% on her coloring and highlights, low lights, fancy colors and hair cuts. She can make some suggestions and you will love them.

Hair dresser had no idea how to do a short cut. Cut was completely uneven & failed to use proper product for hair type. Will never go back again. Also the salon was dirty.

What a terrible place. I try to make an app and they say they don’t understand me at the phone they make me down for another thing…. When I arrived they say I need to wait bc they understand something else and the lady aptitud horrible and rude….

I brought my 2 daughters here to get 10+ inches cut of each. They engaged them both very well and kept them laughing. The owner was very snooty though.

Wanted to buy gift cert, they are so busy there, didnt see me waiting for 10 minutes. Being more specific, we greeted each other, and then nothing for 10 minutes, they didnt even ask me why I am standing there :(
