Rating: 4 ... there seemed to be just a small misunderstanding regarding expectations heading into the prenatal massage. My wife was looking forward to her feet being massaged, being that it was one of her pain points. She was disappointed to find out at the time of the massage, that her feet could not be massaged due to prenatal restrictions. Had it not been for that small disappointment in expectations, she would have given a five star review (maybe share those specific restrictions when booking?) She was appreciative of the very relaxing massage from Neyda!

If I could give zero stars, I would. My husband and I went to massage envy for a couples massage to kick off our anniversary celebration. I had a woman named Jennifer and my husband had a woman named Lidia. We signed up for a full body massage. Sadly we both ended up having a bad experience to kick off our celebration. Starting with Jennifer, first of all she talked too much throughout the beginning of the massage. My intent in going there was to relax, not to chit chat about my hair and how much I pay to get it done and how long it takes for me to get it done. I was annoyed from the beginning. Second, she never asked me the touch I wanted, gentle, firm, etc. she just started with firm and I had to ask her for a softer touch. We signed up for a full body massage and she never went past my lower back. When I got to the front desk I had to ask to be sure we signed up for the full body and she confirmed we did. Sadly I never got that. Jennifer focused on my upper body and the massage was terrible. She kept going back and forth between my neck and the right side of my upper back, occasionally moving to my left side and sometimes lower back. Interestingly enough, she asked if there was an area I’d like her to focus on. I said lower back. By the end of massage, she just rubbed her hands across my lower a couple times and that was it. No keen attention to it at all. Finally when everything was done, I’m getting dressed and she knocked on my door once to ask if I was ready and I said almost. Then less than a minute later she knocked again and said she needed to get in cause she had another client. After our massages we went to eat at Chili’s, in the same complex. While there I noticed by neck started hurting me. I thought nothing of it. Then after chilis we get in the car for an hour and a half ride to PA, and I realize the pain started getting worse. That’s when I realized it was because of Jennifer. That’s how terrible her massage was. As the day and evening went by my neck got worse and worse. My husband tried to massage it himself to relieve the pain and I couldn’t even have him touch it, it had hurt so bad. I got little sleep that night because every time I moved there was a sharp pain to my neck. So I started my actual anniversary day out with a stiff neck and a lack of sleep. Not the best conditions for a celebratory day. Now my husbands experience with Lidia, she never gave him a good enough massage. She kept telling him he was too stiff and needed to loosen up. At the end of the massage she actually lectured him about needing to meditate and be stress free when he comes back for his next massage. Overall, we left massage envy pissed. We were relieved that the woman at the front, didn’t catch her name, let us go without having to pay. That was generous and kind of her. But the service at this ME was terrible and I would never ever go back. It’s the next day and the experience still pisses me off when I think about it. My husband and I had been looking for some good massages for months and thought we would finally get it. What an absolute disappointment.

I recently had a massage at Massage Envy and was highly impressed with Pricella’s skills and professionalism. She was attentive to my needs, effectively addressing areas of tension and providing a relaxing experience. Her technique was excellent, combining therapeutic pressure with soothing strokes. Overall, the session left me feeling rejuvenated and significantly more relaxed. Highly recommended!

My session with maria was great, she really worked my shoulders, at a point that they hurt. ( I was really tight up there) However the next morning I was really sore. Overall the session was great, but next time I might tell her to go a bit lighter on the massage.

I’ve had the best prenatal massages here by Gisela! I’ve had prenatal massages prior but none compare to the service and kindness by Gisela! You don’t feel like just another client being rushed out the door. She truly cared about my comfort and care during my session. Her technique is Amazing and she truly helped this future mom not only relax but find genuine relief from lugging around my baby belly all day.

Requested a 60 minute deep tissue which was no where close to a deep tissue. I was with someone else and our appointments were at 1pm my friend was taken to the room on time and was finished at 2pm My masseuse took me in the room at 1:10 and finished at 1:50 it was suppose to be a 60 minute deep tissue massage. I will never go back to this Massage Envy the massage was not worth.

I went in for a stretch session with Gisela and it was wonderful. She listens and is kind and more than anything knows what shes doing. Im not a physical person and the next day I wasnt in pain and I felt great. Im definitely going back for more sessions.

Horrible communication and contract. In the past, I’ve been charged for enhancements without notice for which I had coupons. My first masseuse, even though she had good reviews was rude after a few sessions, telling me to relax cause I was too tense. Obviously I know that! That’s what I’m there for. I froze my account since I’m traveling and I’m still being charged. Spoke to manager multiple times about all of these issues but are still unresolved. Haven’t received a refund and funny thing was that when I was freezing my account and signing all papers another client came in complaining about being charged during a travel freeze. I wanted to think that it was an isolated incident but guess what I should’ve listen to the other reviews.

Had a facial done by Breanna she was truly amazing! Very professional, informative and gave me really helpful recommendations to achieve my skin goal of hydration in my non-hydrated face Lol definitely going back to see her!

East Rutherford massage Envy was spotless! Lidia, my massage therapist was knowledgeable and wonderful! Listened intently! Can’t wait to book again! Front desk staff very nice and welcoming too!

Massage was suppose to be for 1.5 hoursI arrived for my appointment at 150p and was not taken into room 217. Massage ended at 333pYet I was still charged for the extra 30 min.Focus was to long on back and other areas of body were neglected

Gisela was fantastic. She had knowledge in what was right for me even though I chose the wrong package for myself and what she recommended helped my back tremendously! She’s very friendly and I was happy that she was Latina- I’ve never had a masseuse that I can chat with in Spanish :) I will be back to see her going forward!

Gisela is the best! I’m under constant stress and have a couple of chronic pain spots. She truly helps ease the pain and her massages are so relaxing!

My Massage Therapist was tentative to my problem areas and she made sure to ask me how I felt. She was patient and professional.

Very poor massage, they did not provide me with the masseuse that I was booked with And the guy I got didn’t even introduce himself or told me his name. He did only my back when I told him my neck, shoulders and back were my areas of focus. Never touch my neck. I was suppose to get a full body and I only got a back massage with little emphasis on my shoulders. His hands were very rough and no aromatherapy essential oils were used. Normally you would have lavender or peppermint oils to help you relax. Nothing was offered or used.

Poor massage. It was like she was using 1 hand for a majority of the time. She didnt really only work one side of my back. The person at the desk was on speaker phone with someone talking about her personal issues. Really bad experience. I wont go back.

Jennifer does amazing bodywork. She cares so much about her clients needs and does very unique techniques to alleviate muscle spasms, cramps and pain. Ultra therapeutic and healing 👍🏽

Massage Envy located in East Rutherford, NJ has amazing customer service. The front desk staff is pleasant and remembers your name from the moment you walk in.The facility is clean and always smells very pleasant. I have experienced massages from David and Giselle - they are both great!Angelique has become my favorite masseuse because she asks if anything has changed to ensure you get a proper massage concentrating on areas of concern. She is extremely understanding, kind, & friendly. Angelique remembers any specific needs or requirements so the room is always ready before you arrive, she is thorough, not talking the whole time (which I greatly appreciate & prefer), and she makes sure you are comfortable. Excellent service every time!

I got a massage with David yesterday and it was the worst massage Ive ever gotten in my life. First off, his hands were extremely rough, they felt like sandpaper on my skin and it was irritating my back. It was also like he barely knew how to massage someone. I asked for medium pressure and he didnt get into my knots or anything, just lightly brushed over them and was just weirdly rubbing me without getting into my muscles at all. I’ve had many massages in my life and he seemed to have NO idea what he was doing. He was very nice so I feel bad leaving such a bad review but it was truly unacceptable. I could do a better job massaging myself! I wish I was compensated for it in some way with an extra service or something because I left expressing that I was really disappointed and the receptionist did absolutely nothing to make up for my unhappiness.

Love the team at this Massage Envy location! Lyle is my go to for the best deep tissue and stretching. He’s awesome!

I received a gift certificate from my brother on my birthday and decided to treat myself finally after two months procrastinating. I tried the rapid tension relief with Gisela. The session is for 30 minutes. Very relaxing and Gisela helps you to relax and feel comfortable. I will definitely go back and try their other services like hot stone massage. Highly recommend trying this place out, especially if you have back pain, youll feel much better afterwards.

They are out of their minds with the prices 145 bucks for a massage, get the hell outta here. I can drive to queens to get a massage for 40 bucks with hot stones, even when you add up the gas and tolls it’s cheaper. Not worth it would most definitely look else where.

To be honest, this isnt the type of place I would normally go to, as they dont have the best reputation. But, this location had much better reviews than the two that are near my house, and I had a gift card that someone had gotten me for Christmas last year, so I decided I should finally use it. I wont say the name of the lady who gave me a massage, as a few other reviews had said positive things about her (which is why I booked her), so maybe my experience is an anomaly.Firstly, it was mostly palms, not enough thumbs or elbows - thats not to say she didnt use either, it was just that she used them sparingly. So she wasnt able to get any knots out, nor did she really work on them at all. The only time I felt her using thumbs was when she would jab it really hard into the bone on my shoulder. I thought to myself that surely she must feel the bone there. So I figured okay, maybe theres a reason shes doing that. She is a professional after all, so maybe its supposed to hurt really bad and later itll feel great. Nope, it hurt a lot over the next couple days too. Maybe I should have given her more direction, but to be fair, Ive never had to tell a massage therapist to stop grinding into my bones, so I didnt really know how to go about it. I didnt want to criticize the way she was doing her job.Also, I had read in reviews that the time they take to consult with you counts towards your massage, so I rushed through that, but even then the massage was still less than 45 minutes (I paid for an hour). It was supposed to be until 4:00, but she ended it at 3:49.Anyways, even if they halved the price it still wouldnt be worth it. There are much better places to get a massage where they do the full hour and dont jab you in your shoulder bone over and over again. Really, my $22 shiatsu massage pillow is way more relaxing and better at getting out knots.On the plus side, the two people I talked to at the front desk were very nice.

When I first started my subscription about a year ago, this location was a mess.I had a few issues that put a bad taste in my mouth and made me regret getting the subscription.They must have changed management because since then each massage has been great and they always cal to remind for appointments.Samantha is very pleasant and Luis is a great masseuse and really knowledgeable.Highly recommend the monthly to save money & get more of a bang for your buck.

Had a great massage with Angelique! My husband and I had back to back appointments with her and were both highly satisfied. She listened to our needs and worked on our problem areas. Highly recommend booking with her if you have the opportunity.

Lidia is the first masseuse to fully be able to get my knots out of my shoulders. I got an hour long massage, asking for focus on my neck and shoulders, and I got it! I’m sore as heck the next day but in the good kind of way. Definitely go to her if you would like a great firm massage!

Luis was a great therapist. He made me feel refreshed and less achy.

I have been going here for a few months now and seeing Lidia. I can’t recommend her enough for a firm massage. She is excellent at her massages and you can tell she really goes above and beyond. She takes the time to make sure she targets all the requested areas.

I’ve had a lot of massages from different places, but the best one I’ve had is from Lyle. I’ve had friends recommend him and he did not disappoint. He focused on exactly what I wanted and any pain or soreness was immediately taken care of. I will be coming back to him for sure, thanks Lyle!

I scheduled a massage at this location with the only therapist available for a late evening (9p) massage on Wed 9/13. I am a flight attendant and was in for just a short stay and in need of a massage. My therapist, David, claimed he is an instructor at a school that is currently closed due to low enrollment. If he is an instructor I am truly scared for the level of massage therapists being turned out by that school. I have been a massage therapist for the past 24yrs, yes in addition to being a flight attendant. I have never received a massage where the therapists elbow crossed over my vertebrae as many times as Davids did. My 1hr massage (technically 50min) was only 45min max, and probably less. I wasnt brought back to the therapy room until 9:10and after talking with David and asking for my hands, feet neck and shoulder to be concentrated on received the most subpar massage ever. A total of 2min were spent on each lower leg & foot, with the foot receiving lotion and really no massage. I had to assist him in locating the HUGE knot I had in my Rhomboid/Infraspinatus. Time spent on my arms/hands was just as short as the time spent on my feet.I had asked for a manager to contact me when I left as the CSR was unable to offer a discount for my extreme unhappiness with my massage and she stated someone would contact me in the next 2 days. Well its 2 days later and I havent heard anything. Yesterday (9/14) I actually felt worse than I did before getting the massage and have bruising over my vertebrae. This is not my first massage, I know I can be sore from a massage. I should not have bruising over the bone area of my spine.Additionally, I emailed the location once I returned to my hotel giving a detailed review of the situation I experienced and still no response. I did state in my email I was waiting for a follow up call before posting my review but now that the 2 days have passed here you go. I did make a call to the location today (Fri 9/15) but of course the manager had already left for the day. When I inquired about a follow up call the CSR today stated there was no record of a note for anyone to contact me. How disappointing.

Very expensive ($145 + tip for 60 minute massage) and it isn’t even a luxurious experience. I don’t really know how they can justify those prices. Rug is old and smelly, paint is chipping off the walls, towels are musty and rough, and staff isn’t professional. They don’t give you the full 60 minutes either. They count the time it takes for the masseuse to come out, the time you spend undressing and the time you spend having a consultation with the masseuse towards the massage. So really you only get 45-50 minutes of actual massaging. The massage itself is okay. Better off taking your money to get a luxury massage experience since it’s the same price.

Gisela is amazing. This was my 3rd time with her and I know everyone is different, but for me, she is the perfect massage therapist. She is extremely knowledgeable in her craft and the methods she uses on me are incredibly effective. I have been under a ton of stress and when I walked out the transformation was remarkable. Honestly, she is the only one I will see, although I am sure they all have their own unique talent to offer.Edit: 6/8/22 Gisela outdid herself this last time!!! Beware of dishonest and unethical business practices! Ive been a member for over 6 years and Im cancelling my membership because their availability is super low, they have rude employees, and I dont see any value to this membership. Additionally, they charged me after my membership was cancelled and refuse to refund my $90! Theyre impossible to talk to and I cant find any appointments to use that credit, so they basically took my money after assuring me they wouldnt. If you do go here, definitely communicate everything via email because they will lie on the phone!

I’ve been A member for more than 10 years & have gone to many locations. I had 2 therapists that were amazing in the past and after many years they have left to go on to other careers.Been searching for A great therapist since.I tried this location about A month ago and was hoping to have found my new therapist. Well sad to say Pawwel is not the one.The only good news was he didn’t chat during my massage.I asked for full body.The bad news is it was the most disjointed massage I ever had.Didn’t touch my head, neck & shoulders at the start which usually gets me relaxed. Went right to my legs. Never did my hands, arms or feet? Didn’t spend enough time on neck & shoulders.I will never go back to Pawwel again.I’m sadly considering ending my long time membership.

The massage was great. But I had an issue at the front desk in regards to the scheduled date. When I called to schedule an appointment I was told my appointment was scheduled on Wednesday and on the day of I was told the appointment was never scheduled so I was charge extra, at the completion of the massage.

I went in for a massage with Pawel and facial/chemical peel with Hind. Both specialist were excellent. The pressure and thorough massage + education and care were 2nd to none.I left feeling relaxed and refreshed.

Gisela is amazing! She listens and provides the best services. She always addresses my issues which leaves me feeling so relaxed and refreshed. I also tried the new CBD cream which was a little different (in a good way) but still provided relaxation and left my skin feeling so soft.

I really enjoy going to get my monthly massage here. I usually go to see Lyle. He is amazing! Does an excellent job and very communicative with me about my needs. The staff and overall customer support is very helpful and kind. Dont forget to always speak your mind if you are not comfortable with something or whatever it may be. Massage envy is there to make you have a wonderful experience and they always treat me so well. I will definitely keep going there and highly recommend it!

I dont even know where to start. I went for a massage a month or so ago and had a terrible experience. My massage therapist, Nasmia, was incredibly unprofessional. When I first went into the room she excused herself to pee because she hadnt gone all day. She proceeded to talk the ENTIRE massage. I am generally a very friendly person, but there is a time and a place for everything, and when I came in because Ive been experiencing tension and stress headaches, I was expecting a relaxing experience and it was anything BUT that. She proceed to tell me how shes moved multiple locations (wonder why) and at her last location her coworker was fired for stealing her engagement ring and hiding it in her private areas (the language was more vulgar, but Ill keep it clean in this review, just use your imagination). She continued to tell me about her family history, her boyfriends family history, her past relationships, her landlord problems, and anything you can possible imagine. I felt like I should have gotten paid for the therapy session after. At the end of the massage she gave me her personal cell phone and told me I could come to her apartment for a massage and not book through massage envy anymore (dont worry, her boyfriend will give us privacy). I felt like she was grooming me, who knows what would have happened had I decided to call her. I walked out of the appointment and texted my friends telling them I felt like I was punked, that there was NO WAY that was real.The next day, I contacted ME and expressed my frustrations and concerns with the experience. I didnt hear back for a month, so I contacted again saying that if they did not respond I would leave a negative review, they called me IMMEDIATELY on 1/19/2023. They told me that she was suspended, apologized profusely, asked me not to let this reflect on their service or location, and offered no other resolution. I did not ask for a refund or credit, although felt it would have been a kind gesture. On Monday 1/23/2023 and today, 1/24/2023 I received 2 text messages telling me MY MASSAGE THERAPIST NASIMA HAD OPENINGS AND TO BOOK NOW BECAUSE SHE FILLS UP FAST!! So not only do they not take customer complaints seriously, they have lost my business forever, I will recommend all friends and family to stay away, and they LIED TO ME just to appease me. Maybe if youre going to lie to your customers, remove them from your CRM or automated text messages so you dont get caught. I am an office manager and am responsible for 30 plus employees and if I ever received a complaint like this I would handle the situations very differently, but perhaps I care more about my business than a large franchise cares about their locations.

I was charged the price for an hour massage which took only 45 minutes.This is stealing in plain English.

Gisela is the best massage therapist I’ve ever gone to. She does not follow a “formula” like so many others do where they give the exact same massage every time. She listens to my needs and adjusts the massage to work the areas that are most important, using techniques that work better for specific issues.

Louis is a true master at his craft. He pays attention to the body and knows exactly where and what areas to work on. He takes time to know your body and is very efficient in his work. I feel amazing every time.

I started going to Lyle on the suggestion of my sister in early 2021. After my first massage, I immediately signed up for a whole year because his massage was the best I’ve ever had and I’ve had many! It’s been such a pleasure to go once or even twice a month to someone who really has their technique down and continues to improve and mix it up. My body had never felt better! Thank you Lyle!

I’ve been going to massage envy for about 10 years, even before moving to NJ. I started going to this location when I moved to East Rutherford in 2016 and always had a good experience. I’ve tried other massage envy locations in the surrounding area, and the others have had bad customer service, paired with a therapist who does the opposite of what I asked for, changing my appointment time without asking, etc. So I always come back to the east Rutherford location!! It’s a smaller location, but it’s a consistently great experience every time I come!! Highly recommend!!

Pawel listened to my needs and relieved me of soreness and stiffness I’ve been experiencing. I felt so relaxed and rejuvenated after I left. I will definitely schedule another appointment with him. Additionally, the two ladies at the front desk were friendly, welcoming, and overall fantastic.

This a great friendly professional place , I’ve been coming here couple times and last time I was here they charged me $10.00 xtra supposedly because I had open the membership in another Envy massage, I’ve been to other Envy massage places and never charged me xtra, if this is something new then I’m considering canceling my membership with Envy massage all the way around.

I absolutely love this location. I started a membership back in August of 2017 & its worth every penny. Ive enjoyed countless massages and am still enjoying the little add on coupons that were given to me at the time I signed up - very generous and a nice touch - the staff is second to none. Ive enjoyed most of my massages with Jennb who is an excellent therapist and very sweet, but today i was in crisis mode and had the pleasure of seeing Gisella...what a great experience, I left feeling alive again. #newmomwithsciatica 😣. This location is just the best. from the moment I walk in and am greeted by Abby who is always pleasant and personable, to the time I leave i enjoy every second. Go check them out, sign up for the membership and enjoy.

I had a very painful knot in my back that Pawel was able get rid of entirely. All around a very pleasant experience. Everyone professional and courteous.

I hate leaving bad reviews especially when my therapist ALWAYS deserves nothing less than 5 stars but this ME location seems to keep earning low grades in my book. In the over 10 years of being a loyal customer, i have recommended nearly a dozen people to ME, purchased them gift cards and even personally booked sessions for them and have never felt that ME appreciates it. To add insult to injury, when i want to gift a freind my upcoming session cause the really need it, they (ME) has the nerve to charge an additional $10. Wow! I introduce them to a new client and get punished for it. Most recently, they dropped my monthly session (that was booked for over 3 months) because of an internal issues (not sure if its a computer or human issue) so i asked for a supervisor to call me back because. To no surprise, no call back. Ironically on the rare occasion in 10 years when i’ve had to cancel the morning of, they have no problem penalizing me for the late cancellation. They dropped me, no warning and never called or made good. Really poor customer service on managements part. I think ME management needs a schooling on the lifetime value of a client and revamp how they treat their loyals… loyalty should go both ways.

The only good thing about the place was my massage therapist. The older lady in the front was rude, condescending and nasty. Accused me of using a fake gift card in which we VERIFIED with the store the day before. They did NOTHING to understand my concerns, just kept in saying something about the decimal my sister wrote in the gift card! Highly recommend you go, RUN somewhere else!

The cancellation policy in the Rutherford office is abusive. I understand the times are hard for small business right now but is also hard for the consumer. Their customer service is unfair and not clear. And their only response is my coworker explained it which is not true plus apparently their system doesnt work when is convenient to them. I would suggest trying another office I think the bad service is unique to the Rutherford office and their front desk. The Clifton location is great!!! And their mistake cost me $120.

East Rutherford LocationLISA doesn’t really know what she’s doingWas asking for a deep massage they said she does it ummm nope I asked her few times to go deeper, she didn’t work on the muscle I asked and she threw my hand when she was finished massaging U don’t do that U do it gentlyAt the end the therapist should wait for you to ask how you feel, glass of water blah blah blah she wasn’t there! I know how it works cuz I’m massage therapist myself She won’t have many clients Worst spend 120$ on a massage Awful experience with her!!!!!!

Just called for an availability for a massage and was rudely hung up on after one offer that didnt work with my schedule. How rude... she told me a facial time slot which. I clearly said Im calling to book a massage therapy.

Pawal is the best. Professional and tends to detail. He is a 5. The lesser score relates to the front desk and phone calling ataff. In consistent, appointmenrs change per the time I select with no notification. When inquiring, I het the run around and excuses.My appt yesterday was moved 15 min earlier with no notice, just a reminder call. 15 makes a differnce because I usually select times to coordinate with my work and other appointments.I saw my next appt., in the profile page, is different now from what I selected. The self adjusting of appointments by staff is unfair and disrupts my planned schedule.The excuse that it is done for cleaning is nonsense. If there is a need for 15 minutes for cleaning, then make appointments available that allows for that. Not inconveniencing the client.

My legs, neck and shoulders were hurting. My masseuse asked me if there were areas I wished to have concentrated on. I was asked whether I wanted mild, medium or strong pressure. I responded medium. My masseuse was very respectful and polite.
