Massage Envy

Ive been visiting this location for 4 years now and while I love the therapist I see (Jason is fabulous), the condition of this store seems to just get worse with each visit. Carpets are dark, dirty and coming loose everywhere. Base boards have been missing for years. The lobby is tired and chairs are worn out. And these are just a few observations.Ive been a member for over a decade now and Ive been to numerous other locations in different cities and while most have a spa-like feel, that is just not the case here at West side location...Let me be clear, I don’t write this in hopes of getting anything other than the attention of ownership. If you take anything away from my review, let it be that youre doing this location a disservice by not taking the time to do basic repairs and maintenance. As a loyal member, Id appreciate if the location I spend my time at was held to a higher standard than it currently is now.

SCAM. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE. They make it EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to cancel your membership. Theres even a class action lawsuit about it. When I signed up I asked in no confusing terms What happens if I cant afford it and I need to cancel? I was told that I can cancel anytime, straight up, to my face. LIES. I was denied canceling over the phone and the manager was supposed to call me back and never did. To avoid the stress (which is one of the reasons you get a massage, right? De-stress?!) I decided not to fight it. Now almost a year later the person I spoke to on the phone today was mumbling something about my subscription ending in November!! He was so rude and unprofessional, he had no enthusiasm or customer service at all. I asked him why November and he said I dont have that information at this time. ...what?! If the person working at massage envy doesnt know why massage envy is extending your subscription then who the heck is supposed to know?! He then refused to give me the managers name, why? If you as an employee have nothing to hide then why should a name be so secretive? If youve done nothing wrong per your job description then there should be no reason to hide your name. Ive worked customer service for over 15 years from entry level staff to management and I am appalled with this place. If you google it youll see an article about a class action lawsuit for their memberships. You will either need to block them through your bank/credit union or change your debit/credit card number.

UnbelievableCalled to make an appointment took 30 minutes to get set up with the two appointments, got confirmation of one appointment, called to find out where my wifes appointment was.. nothing! Gave all information that was relied to me names of masseuse for both appointments and times, come on man! We travel 2 hours to get here and no appointment for her! Not one to leave her out I cancel mine! Then to top it off I am getting charged for cancelling when this was all their fault!! Did I forget to mention it is her birthday today!!This use to be a breeze I do not know what happen, but come on guys!!

Went in for a 1 hour massage after 40 mins Carlos states that the massage was over. I mentioned that it wasn’t an hour. His reply “I brought you back a little early.” Yeah I arrived at 5:45 pm to fill papers out, massage started at 6 and ended at 6:40. I didn’t know that we were paying massage therapist to walk in the door and undress. Massages are very expensive and to not get what you are paying for and then tip?? DO NOT SPEND YOUR $ here!!

It’s so annoying when you call a business to make an appointment and they tell you to book on the app- I now have tried three times to book on the app, takes about 10 minutes to create an account and go through options and on the last step it tells you to call the store.I received a gift card for Christmas, it would be my first time at the franchise- why do I have to create an account to get a massage??I recommend when you have a client on the phone- book the appointment, don’t add stress to clients booking appointments to destress.

Excellent service and great massages! I saw some of the negative reviews prior to joining, and was apprehensive at first, but I went for my first massage and it was a great experience. They did NOT push the membership on me the first time. On my second visit, they did point out the benefits of membership, and I decided to go ahead and get a membership. Since then, Ive had one massage and will have another tomorrow. They have been totally professional, courteous and polite and the massage therapists are great - they know what they are doing. I look forward to many massages here in the future.Mike G

Excellent massage. I’ve had a few massages in El Paso and this place has been the best so far. Plus they have really great deals. I like that it’s nationwide. The rooms were nice and the music was relaxing. The lotions and oils were very great. Oscar was my masseuse and he did a fantastic job with getting rid of the pain I was having on my left shoulder for the past few days. The ladies at the front desk were extremely professional and helpful. I’ll be coming back here more often.

I do not recommend doing business with this establishment. I purchased a membership before Covid (January 2020). The business closed for an extended period in 2020 and I was contacted a few months ago and was told that since the business was closed because of Covid, they would extend my membership until June 2021 since it was set to expire in February. They also agreed to allow me to use some additional passes that they had given me for recommending friends to also purchase a membership.I attended two sessions, provided some passes to a friend of mine who did receive a massage, and again as of last week, staff confirmed I could transfer remaining massage credits. I subsequently made an appointment for my mother to receive a massage. However, upon arrival, the staff said they would not allow a transfer of my credits to take place. The manager who was called, totally backed out of any offer to allow me to transfer my passes and asked for written documentation that showed what she had verbally told me, and staff had just confirmed one week earlier. According to the manager, an exception could not be made because “the system” would not allow the transfer to take place. I would not recommend this business to anyone. I have since found that several other people had similar experiences. Save your money and go elsewhere where commitments are honored. It is unfortunate that once they take your money, all bets are off and they back out of what they tell you.

Just got a massage with Miguel, he was awesome! Super knowledgeable and professional. It was my first time getting a massage and he helped put me at ease and explained the different options. The front staff were super nice as well. Will be recommending to friends and family :)

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! I am EXTREMELY upset right now. Not only did Massage Envy charge my account without my authorization, they also wrote a fake review on their webpage with MY NAME on it. Went there ONCE and informed the young lady I DID NOT want to sign up for the membership and I DID NOT want to set up a second appointment, but unfortunately she was to incompetent to understand me and set up an appointment anyway. Which of course I had no idea about and didn’t show up for this “appointment” they went ahead and charged my account $90 DOLLARS!! For service I never got or agreed to. A cancellation fee. I tried calling MULTIPLE times to speak with the manager, and got the same response every time. “She’s not here”. It is impossible to get a hold of management there. Very UNPROFESSIONAL. And based on other reviews it seems like it’s happens to other people as well. Massage Envy is a fraudulent company and I highly recommended to stay away.

Too busy to take new members. They obviously don’t have enough therapists. Lady who was answering my questions when I called was rude and sounded annoyed that I was trying to book a massage then. I wish I could give them 0 stars. If you are looking for a massage place, the staff at Bienestar Massage was super friendly. They had actual availability. Their pricing is better AND you can add friends and family on your membership for free.

I have been a member since February 2017. I didnt care for my first massage. I left oily. I hate that. They assured me that they would clean off the oil with hot towels next time. They called and asked me to return. I really wasnt interested. I have been paying $55 a month for nothing. I finally returned today and asked for a deep tissue massage and for the oil to be cleaned off after when I made the appointment. My therapist said she doesnt do deep tissue and she was never told that I wanted that. Oh, and no hot towel. I left oily AGAIN. I spoke to the manager and canceled my membership. She would not offer any kind of refund. She only offered more massages. I told her I am not interested and left. Terrible.

Was not able to get my massage, so I’d give 0 stars if possible.My husband surprised me with a massage for our anniversary and booked it for me online, a few weeks beforehand. Then, the day before the appointment, he got a confirmation text to confirm the appointment but it was at a different time than he originally booked. We called to find out what happened, and they said that booking online isn’t reliable because they can get overbooked that way, so we were bumped to a different time (4 hours later). Why have an online booking system then?? Because it was our anniversary, I had the day off from work and had other things planned for the remainder of the day, so moving the appointment was not possible. They told me I can reschedule anytime (well, duh), but I won’t because I don’t often have days off or childcare to pamper myself.They were no able to accommodate us at either location in El Paso and were not helpful in resolving the matter or making up for their “system error”. I definitely do not recommend.

I had an appointment set up I got several texts to confirm my appointment,I get there and the lady who was going to massage me didnt show up to work and so when I get there they told me she didnt show up to work and so we left very disappointed with neck pain.,I dont recommend this place but its up to you.

Great first experience. I booked my appt online and was able to find an appt same day. Martin was very professional and worked on the exact places where I was having so much tension and even did some stretches, which was a surprise! I feel like they tell all the customers that they need a followup in 2 weeks but I didnt feel forced about it.EDIT: changed my review from 5 to 3 stars. I ended up getting a BAD trigger point behind my ear that gave me headaches and was sore for a week. Also kept getting multiple phone calls about going back which got annoying really quickly.

My husband got me a gift certificate for mothers day. I called a couple of weeks back and made an appointment. I walk in the day of the appointment and am told that my appointment was scheduled for PM and not AM. I told the girl that I spoke with an actual person and did not do it online so I couldnt understand the error. She said that I confirmed through text, which I did but did not pay attention to the PM part because I figured since I was told AM it was correct. She tried to put me on a waiting list for the next day but I already have plans and of course an appointment would not be a sure thing. I dont have many days off where I get time to myself so rescheduling is practically not an option at this point especially if Im on a waiting list. My husband called and he cant get a refund so I guess were out the money. I just read other reviews and starting to believe this place really is just a scam.

My mother has paid a lot of money for massage points including for her children and we all feel that this whole business is a scam. She has been told by different employees that she must keep paying to use her already paid for points. There is a freeze option but Massage Envy is telling her she cant use the points during the freeze but that she will still be charged $10 for Maintenance and its only for a 6 month period after which they keep charging full price. How could anyone, in good conscience treat a long time paying member by essentially scamming them and stealing their money? They never explained to her that this was how they handle the accounts. This situation needs to be addressed and corrected immediately if this is a respectable business at all as every location claims it to be. However, it is impossible to get any help so I recommend not even starting a membership with this entity.

I seriously have no complaints about this place! One of the estheticians there Bianca Cortez is friendly, knowledgeable, gentle and thanks to her I have flawless skin! She’s taken care of me for years now and I can honestly say I have never had one complaint about her. So if you need a facial she’s your girl you won’t be disappointed

It is much better to find another massage spot. anything is better than this place. my fiance and I truly gave it a chance. My fiance signed the year contract as a nice gesture for me. We tried multiple therapist, but it was always a hit and miss. Sometimes it was good, other times they didnt listen to what we wanted and were a complete waste of our monthly dues. On top of that, once you signed a year contract, they neglect to tell you you have to physically go in to cancel. Even after your contact is over, they will continue to charge you if you dont go in. So if you sign a contract pray that you remember a year from now to go in and cancel it because they will make sure to not mention a word about it.This is truly the Walmart of spas, so my suggestion is to do a little more research and visit a local spa, they cost about they same and have way better therapist.

Josh Huerta is an amazing therapist! I had needed a deep tissue massage for much longer than I care to admit and he definitely took exceptional care of me. Hes knowledgeable and considerate. I got the work I needed done but was still utterly relaxed. I can not thank him enough and I always look forward to the opportunity of getting on his table.

I’m visiting out of town from Las Vegas.... El Paso had a snow storm & bad weather. They would not let me Cancel without charging me a fee! The other location in town did NOT charge a cancellation fee due to weather, in fact the other location called ME to see if I would like to keep or cancel (talk about great customer service & true care for customer safety!) Looks like I made the right decision to cancel at this location, They can keep my $30 & I will never go to that location again. And the manager gave me attitude like I was supposed to know that this weather was coming & that they pay their employees by the hour.

The staff is all great and welcoming and always works with my schedule . Nadia is the best!! her rapport and her massages are heaven I always catch myself drooling of how relaxed I am . She is a great asset and never disappoints

Expected more massage or focus were i said i need it. And the day after got an awful cramp in my back. That lasted 24 to 36 hrs !!!

I was extremely pleased with the services provided, I was also extremely impressed with bianca and her techniques. She was very nice and accommodating to my likes. Thank you bianca for showing me what massage envy is all about. I think I found my new favorite spa and will definitely recommend it to everyone I know.

The Massage Envy - West location is the worst. Ive been to multiple locations in northern CA, Albuquerque, NM and in San Antonio, TX.For this location, 1 star is for the difficulty in scheduling appointments, lack of professionalism by front desk staff, and the hit or miss quality of massages.Examples:I transferred a prepaid massage to a family member for their birthday. I asked for a card as proof of transfer. The front desk staff told me that they do not give gift cards or provide proof of transferred credit. I know what she told me was not true because Ive received a transfer card myself. Just being lazy.Each time I call to schedule an appointment at this location, I have to wait 3-4 days. Same day is NEVER available. This tells me that the manager cant get or keep on-call therapists to meet demand.Most therapists at this location are recent graduates. The good ones never stay very long or they only work 8-5 M-F. At this location, most therapists TALK A LOT and dont read your chart.I hate having my face massaged. Despite my mentioning this twice and noting it in my sign up chart, this one therapist attempts to massage my face everytime I get stuck with him. Its as though he has a set of massage steps he goes through... no deviations...At this location, therapists up-sell hot stone and aromatherapy, request that you only schedule with them, and make you aware of their right to a tip... DURING A SESSION!Just so were clear, I gave this location a year and multiple attempts. I asked to note my preferences on my profile with honest feedback. Time and again, this location is a disappointment. I cancelled my membership today. I have several prepaids left, but will be going to the Fountains to receive services.My advice? Go to bienestar down the street ... its month to month $39 and you are allowed to have 2 authorized members on your account. No lectures and fees if you want to transfer a massage to someone else! Stay away from this location.

Dont waste your time or your money! Have/had a membership. You make appointments they call you a few hours before- a day before if youre lucky and cancel it. The kids answering the phone are worthless their I understand.... script is worthless. They could care less about you and are more concerned with charging fees and not letting you use the services youve paid for. We are in the drawn out process of canceling the membership- another reason why not to join.

I never have problems with this location! Once I moved from east to west it was so easy for me to find a good massage therapist. Thank you for the hard work that y’all put in to your customers. I appreciate you!

A thirty minute massage is really 20 minutes and an hour massage is really 50 minutes...They tried to tell me this was the norm, but where I have gone before you get the full amount of hands on time that you pay for (Bienestar Massage)...the massages themselves have been so disappointing. I live two blocks away and decided to go to this place for convenience, but I dont think I will return....dont waste your time or money going here...go somewhere else and get a great massage.Let me count the ways this place is a RIP OFF:- massages are hit or miss to begin with- memberships are where they get you:- Youre locked into 6+ months for a membership. This means youre auto-billed every month for a massage, whether you use it or not. They do roll over though.- After 6 months, if you want to cancel, you need to give them 30 days written notice.- At that point, you only have 30 days to use all the massages that have rolled over.The ones you already paid for but have received nothing in return for.- You can gift them, but for a $10 fee. And only once a month, and only to the same person once every 6 months. So dont count on bringing your partner along.- After all that, they have the gall to ask you for gratuity. Im a happy over-tipper, but not when you throw it in my face.Just avoid this place, and all Massage Envy

I have been struggling with intense pain with my sciatic nerve. I got a massage and found relief I never knew was possible. My therapist, Dee Dee, was not only excellent at what she does, but she was also very knowledgeable about my pain and answered all my questions. I didn’t realize getting such a good massage could be the difference for me and my pain.

If you dont arrive on the dot they waste your time signing paper work. Therapist takes forever to come get you and after youre in the room they kill even more time coming in. My 1 hour session turned into a 30 mins session only real fast. I should have just not showed up. Terrible location, traffic is the worse to get there. Since the staff killed 15 mins of my session they should advice clients to get there 30 mins. No wonder this company is going through a lawsuit. They only care about making money and not their customers.

I only got 30 min massage time at best and was on time. The massage was good but felt a little ripped off because i didnt get tbe full hr and they stopped 10 minutes early. For $90 I THINK theres better places who care the same about service as money.

I went in to this location and the front desk staff were so friendly and helpful! They were very welcoming and had great customer service I received a massage and facial and left feeling amazing!!! Kyle and Bianca were excellent! I’ll definitely be going back to this location!

This is by far the worst place in El Paso The level of unprofessionalism starts from the booking of an appointment. We have book one in weeks we called that we might have to reschedule and cancel the next day. We called in the morning as soon as they open we explained again the situation ant they told us to call them back. So we did they said they were going to give time and instead they immediately book someone else We called them and instead of rectifying their mistake or offer a solution they acted defensive and care not to fix their mistake Rude staff and very incompetent too.

I hadnt gotten a massage in years and I went in with a very good experience I alsmot fell asleep on the table. Everyone there was very nice and helpful. The atmosphere was really relaxing and my therapist was awseome! Will be going back again.

Bianca Cortez is by far the best esthetician Ive ever encountered! She listens to my needs and makes sure I know how to keep my skin healthy in between facials.

Josh Huerta is the best massage therapist. He is does a great job and is very professional. I always walk away feeling knot free and relaxed. I highly recommend him.

This chain pays their massage therapists $10-$15 an hour and makes them stay at the salon for 5 hours whether they have clients or not. This is a disgrace to the massage therapist community. They charge a hefty price and keep most of it. Go elsewhere.

Corina is the best massage therapist. She takes time to get to know her clients and really focuses on their individual needs. I would highly recommend her to anyone needing a massage.

I just wanted to say the front desk was really disrespectful and unprofessional. I went in there to get a massage. All you can hear is the front desk people talking about a girl in the work place. They would ignored the customers. My therapist kept stoping the massage just to ANSWER her phone . She would take calls as well.

I have been going to Corina for almost 2 years now and she is wonderful! She adjusts massages to my needs and gives overall wellness tips.

Corina gave me a wonderful massage that was relaxing and peaceful. I received a massage to relax my upper back in order to reduce pain in the base of my neck, I left feeling nearly pain free. I will be back again.

I purchased my husband a gift card for a massage for Valentines Day. I asked him how it went, he disliked how the lady therapist wouldnt stop talking to him during his massage. Massages are suppose to be relaxing and QUIET.

Massage Envey on Mesa in El Paso TX refused to provide services to me to becuase I had a Covid vaccine yesterday morning.Stating that their insurance ABMP has threatened to cancel their insurance if the massage or provide services to anyone within 48 hours of being vaccinated. “Becuase I have live Covid in me”!Complete and utter ignorance has becoming the main stay for the society. Super sad about the false information that’s being spread

Went in for a facial and got turned away for not having a mask. No one else was in the lobby, as it was closed off anyways. I would have taken my mask off for the facial obviously 🙄 and been in closer proximity to the tech during my service. So walking a few feet into a room, really made a huge difference if I had my mask on? Very sad to see how people dont think and use logic.

I love getting massages from Dee Dee!! She is so sweet and she really helps relieve the pain and stress in my shoulders and back. I always ask for her first!

I received one of the best target massages ever from Corina Gonzalez and I recommend anybody go see her for any deep tissue massage is. Awesome experience and will visit again soon.

DONT NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!! I was very disappointment with the customer service, the massage and the atmosphere! I literally stopped the massage and left ! I have received many massages and even enjoy giving massages_ so I could def. tell that employees were straight out of school! I left that place aching more then when i came in I was so upset I left crying No exaggeration!

Andrea Gallegos, at Massage Envy (west) is extremely knowledgeable. From the products she uses to the technique she uses while giving a facial. So if you need a facial look no further and book with Andrea Gallegos.

Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff, I really enjoyed my massage with Dee. My only regret is that I didn’t book a longer massage. I am planning to get a few gift certificates for Xmas gifts

Joshua Huertas consistently exceeds expectations. I have old injuries from the army, sports and previous surgeries. His knowledge and care have kept me doing what I love.

Good Massage therapists, but the high pressure sales tactics pressing me to pay for a never ending membership was a real turn off and unreasonable. Wont go back.
