Service and atmosphere gets the 3 stars because the people are cool. But as far as business…Nah. Can’t wear shorts or sweatpants even if you’re staying in the hotel. But it’s perfectly okay for ladies to wear SHORT dresses and have their bosom’s out. Make it make sense. Music is meh at best.
So, my wife and I are from out of town and we were staying at the Best Western Plus. Teddys Lounge is downstairs. We had no cover charge because we were staying at the hotel. We went downstairs to have a drink and they wouldnt let me in because I was wearing shorts. We told the host and hostess that all we wanted was to grab a drink because the hotel bar was closed. They told me that they had a strict dress code. PLEASE! half the women in there, including the hostess, were practically naked!! All my wife and I wanted was a drink. They would allow her in because she was wearing jeans but I wasnt allowed into that pungent lounge? I wasnt even going to stay... just grab a drink and go back to my room. What a great way to welcome folks from out of town. Not even Las Vegas has these moronic dress codes . So to you Teddys, thanks for ruining our last day in El Paso. Our vacation was great until we visited your establishment.
DJ can’t read a room to save his lifeClub full of peopleDance floor with 6 people on it and continues to play the music to allow to #s to drop
The music was mediocre at best. DJ announced he was taking request, but would claim he didnt have the particular song that was requested. It can accurately be described as LackLuster.
Teddys is THE known cougar hot spot. And those cougars like dark meat if you get my drift. So if that meets your parameters well you will have a pretty good time. Otherwise, $4.50 for domestics and a cover for a place that is stuck in the 1980s seems a bit much for me. Additionally, the dress code is silly considering the place is literally a dank basement with poor ventilation and little seating; something to consider these days when you elbow to elbow with everyone.
Let’s talk about this place. So I’m a mechanical engineer visiting from the northeast on a work trip. I was in juarez, mx yesterday and el paso, tx today all on work. Where it was over 100 degrees while working. I have to walk 10 min from my hotel to this location but I was ecstatic to find a night club near my work hotel for once! Almost never happens. Its still almost 100 degrees even with the sun down. I trek over to this place sit down at the bar for 10 minutes no one comes to me. It’s a tuesday night and there’s literally NO ONE in the whole place but one girl moving some things around. I waited at the bar for 15 min and the. Went to the girl who told me the bartender was down the other end of the bar (which I walked by when I came in). So I walked down to the other end of the bar where I found the bartender talking with her friend. I ask for a margarita and she promptly says “sorry we decided absolutely no one with shorts is allowed today”. I feel bad for this bartender its a tuesday bight and she has no idea she just turned away someone who wiuld have tipped her 200% on a slow night like tonight. Thats what you get for being lazy girl
Did not enter due to the dress code. No shorts allowed
I hadnt been to Teddys in roughful 11 years since moving away from El Paso in the mid 2000s. I remember coming here as a young, 20 something year old and thinking the crowd was so boring and old because they were in their 30s-50s. Now, as a mid 30s gal, I love this spot. They play a decent mix of music that has a little something for everyone to jam to. There is a SMALL dance floor, bar seating, some tables, and an outdoor patio for folks to smoke and drink on. The drinks are priced fairly, and the bartenders are attentive. There is an ATM machine in the lobby, and a security officer posted outside the door. Definitely recommend this spot to the 35 and up club.
We didnt stay very long but we had a good time while there.
Heard this was a good spot. The music was good but damn most of these people have AARP cards. And the dance area is too small and not enough sitting.
This place out dated, over priced drinks no drafts terrible music played by old ladies over 50 and a seating plan that makes no sense. Your either in the way as you have your drink or are scrolled away in a dark corner inhaling mold. I can’t think of a good reason to spend money here.
Ok place, but not visit often like it is overrated, still I like it to go once in a blue moon. Nothing special from any club that I visited. Not hat policy, but is this cowboy town? I am not freezing my head.
Great atmosphere!! Good choice of music by the DJ. We always have a great time when we go!!!
Amazing place when the dj who has been there 10 plus years is not there . Please read and replace him .
