We celebrated my son leaving for the Coast Guard! The atmosphere was great, the music was amazing! The food was really good especially the chicken wrap, drinks was good and strong. The hookah was good! The only thing I would say that need to be addressed is the servers being more attentive checking on the guest from time to time, the servers were friendly! Also the time it takes to get food out from the kitchen. But other than that we had an awesome time and definitely go back.

We sat outside and no one has attended us. I had to go I side and get the drinks my self. For things to be worse , they automatically cut 20 percent gratuity on my check when i have waited for the cashier for 10 mnts to have me paid. Totally unfair.

Black Rose Lounge prides it self in providing one stop shop for your night lifestyle. The crowd is very diverse and welcoming to everyone. We play variety music to appease the crowd. Texas was great. All the hotels were the best, especially at the place called Kalahari and it’s like almost the best of the best so I Texas the best.I love it so much. I miss it too.

I was pressured to spend money here if I wanted to stay. They said it was because there was a concert taking place. It would have better to charge a cover instead of using intimidation to get money out of people 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ most likely will never return or recommend to friends

Very expensive!!! Inappropriate Music!Music is mostly in Amharic and highly related to martial music. You may hear war song (battle hymns) or tribally biased music in the middle of your good mood.

Sooo… this place took me by surprise.. in a GOOD WAY! Just trying to find a location to hang out with some friends and stumbled upon this place! The atmosphere was dope the band starts playing at 11:00 PM and they were awesome! We went on a Saturday so there was a mixture of Ethiopian music and some American songs..which was so much fun! The attire is casual you can wear sneakers or you can dress up, however you feel. We got there around 8 PM and sat in a booth ( VIP) And people start really coming in around 9 or 10 o’clock. Beautiful people and friendly…the food was Not so great …we ordered the chicken tenders and one of the chicken tenders wasn’t cooked all the way. We order buffalo wings which came out cold…mozzarella sticks were good and so were the fries. Samosas were awesome… The drinks are OK… They didn’t have my favorite drink, amaretto sour or Moscow mule… Moscato wine is what I settled for and My fiancé, a Long Island iced tea. Great place to go with a group of friends! One of the singers came over to a section in partied with us! That was unexpected and FUN! The wait staff was pretty cool, but sometimes you have to wave them down if you want more drinks…overall a REALLY cool spot to hang out in Alexandria area!Dj Luca played ALL THE TOP songs from rap ( Biggie, Pop Smoke, Nicki Minaj etc) to Caribbean sounds( Bob Marley, etc) some Ethiopian songs.. and old school R&B ( Next, Jaheim,etc)… You will not be disappointed with the atmosphere and vibe! It was a WHOLE VIBE!!! Definitely going back again maybe when it gets warmer! Tell everyone about this PLACE!

I bought 3 drinks and the bill was 58 dollars including gratuity I gave 70 dollars and the bartender just took it and left without giving me my change, I never been to a bar where tip was already added and on top that took the rest of the change that I wanted back. Very shady !!!

This place has a lot of potential -- great location, free parking, excellent sound system, clean, and well renovated. But it has serious downfalls. DO NOT use your credit card here. Bring cash, as we were almost doubled charged because, instead of having one waitress serve our table, there were two. You pay one; the other one doesnt know and wants to debate. When asked for a cup of water, my group was told no tap water, which we all know is a lie. The price of bottled water, $5. Even if you are in the band performing. No courtesy water. Gratuity is added on your bill. They bring your bill when they bring your food and/or drink. The chicken wings were nice and hot....good. $10 reasonable. They expect a credit card or money right then. Again, DO NOT give these folks your card. Finally, when we paid with cash, we were told they dont have coins, so we could not get our change....or so they thought. I followed the waitress to the managers office and told him, I would file so many local and state complaints against him, the police will be here every week if I dontget my .28 cents. I got it. I saw no cash register in the establishment. He handed me coins from a brown bag?? Very strange...or is it?

- DO NOT COME HEREMy wife and I came to this place and I was shocked by the lack of customer service.1. We sat at the bar for 10 minutes while the bartender stood off to the side having a personal conversation.2. Non of the beer taps worked.3. They added 2 random drinks on my tab luckily my wife reads all receipts and caught it. They brushed it off with out an apology and the young lady was very rude to us once she realized her mistake.4. I would not recommend this place, we went across the street to another establishment which was much more accommodating. AVOID!!!!!

On Sunday November 21.2022 was my first time being there. I had 2 black level and 1 Heineken only only. The bill was $69.66 when asked them why charged me $69.66 they called the security on me kick me out. Next day i reported the scams to my bank I also I reported the fraud and the scams to Better business bureau (BBB) whats going on in that ghetto club. Iam of Ethiopian descent myself. People dont go that ghetto place

A Very Nice Night Club with a Friendly Staff and Good Drinks!

My friend and I went there to do hookah. Place was packed as hell but the vibe was awesome! Two Latinos in the middle of an Ethiopian vibe! It was phenomenal! Although the place was super busy and crowded the servers did a good job. We had cranberry vodka and the apple hookah. Service was fast, the server even tried to accommodate us to a better spot but all tables were taken. Then they kept the drinks coming God speed. The only thing is that when we tried to check out around 1230 am the place got even busier so the servers were super busy. But all in all the music, the vibe, and the place felt just right. Lots of Ethiopian music, food and beautiful people everyone was chilling minding their own business! Will come back for sure.Oh! About the security staff... Yeppppppp. They only screened me... Not my female friend nor other males who were coming. Maybe the power or being security crew goes all the way to their heads ...

This place was HORRIBLE! I had ONE small drink vodka and cranberry and it was $16!!! OUTRAGEOUS!!! He wanted my credit card, but when I said I’ll pay cash, looos like he was shock and had a hard time giving me my change. I asked about this outrageous fee and he said the drink was $13 and he gave himself a $3 tip! Who does this? NEVER again and I was traveling out of town!!!

The 5 star rating is solely for the security staff. Went up there tonight to meet friends and it was full capacity. Hated standing outside while my people were in already, but the security guard was honest and understanding about how far I came to meet folks and how long I waited. Once he was able to clear my entry with the owner, I got in. He went out of his way to stick up for me, and Im so thankful. Im super grateful for how kind of a guy he was, and how he never let anyone that showed up after me cut in front. Wish I wouldve gotten his name, but he was there tonight around 10:30 and Im so appreciative of him. Thank you sir 👌🏾.

They have no idea about wine(servers) or they are in with the scam . Do not order wine by the glass. I never had wine hangover but I did after drinking there. Whatch your bills designate sober person or else u end up $$$$$. Owner wasnt too friendly. Servers were ok. Would I go back? No.. I may only if managers change they treat and be honest on what they serve loyally.

Service was not that great, food also was not good. Waitress was very slow and took over 40min to get our food (I think she forgot to put order in). bill was incorrect and manager was arguing with me about it. NOTHING got solved. Service is horrible. How ever our door Setting and hookah is good. :)

The place looks okay modern . The problem with place is Custmers service is zero stating with the Securty guys are very rude and disrespectful .And also the waiters are very unfriendly. the security guys where rude to us at the door for no reason none of us was drunk or miss behaving but we just ignored them coz it was our friend birthday so we don’t want to spoil his night.We also had a table bottle of drink and hookahBy the time it’s 2am the waiters ask us pay our bill so we did, as soon as we paid they took the bottle and gave us a chance to finish our drink 2 minute later the Securuty come took the rest of the drink and ask us if we pay our bill.maybe all the Securty come one after another one and asking us the some thing if we pay and that made us very uncomfortable.so we told the security guy why the keep asking the some thing the could ask the waitress who serve us.the Securty guys who didn’t want to hear what we had to say.we ended up leavingVery bad customer serviceI will never ever go back thereVery bad experience

Great place for live Ethiopian music and drinks. The traditional ‘tibs’ was really tasty too. One disappointing thing is that even shots are given in a plastic cup, how cheap is that, at least find some cheap shot glasses for god’s sake.

Poor customer service bartenders always have extra list in your bill CHECK YOUR BILL!! The waitresses are rude and not polite. Avoid

Nice Ethiopian Spot to chill and enjoy some live music. (Chances are you will meet Ethiopian Music Celebrities on a Sunday live music Night. Like Madingo). Their price is reasonable and their good is surprisingly good considering the fact that its not a restaurant.

This is where Junta tplf hangout. Ethiopians who goes here are supporting yea Ethiopians tehelateh. U know they’re tinny however they hate Ethiopians flag because I had one around my head and I also have it on my neck the told me guests and the skinny managers felt Threatened. Imagine how TPLF is scared of the flag green yellow and red man. If you’re Ethiopians and you have your flag these people will not feel comfortable.

If your Ethiopian or like the music this place would be good for you. Some American music but mostly Ethiopian music. Hookah is strong though which I do like. Fries is very salty though.

Black Rose Lounge is very disrespectful when it comes to its non Ethiopian and Eritrean African American community. We as customers deserve better than that. Very disappointed.

Yohana is an amazing singer. She is gifted, and talented beautiful young ethiopian woman with a bright future. However, the DJ is terrible, he need to find another job

Worst customer service, especially the bodyguards are the worst! They have special treatment to people they know even the owner and let new comers wait for hours.I do not recommend it to anyone this kind of places need to go out of business!

It’s a Hell hole. From the rude security at the entrance to the trash talking attendants, I regret the day I came to this place. If there is a star below one I would definitely give it. I usually do not write about a place but, I advise anyone to think twice before going to this place. I’m sure the authorities will close it soon for dozens of violations.
