I had a great meal here. Most everything is gluten free, and the chef guided me through what I shouldnt have. It was delicious. Reys is a bar. The restaurant is in the back and called Half Rooted.

Awesome bartenders, great specials. The food is bomb! If you enjoy some flavors check it out.

Awful awful experience! Got here at 1:30 am on Saturday, asked the bouncer if it was too late for us to get a quick drink and he said “no you’re good. We don’t close for 30 more minutes.” We ordered our drink and sat down. Not even 5 minutes later the same bouncer started yelling that everyone had to leave. We had already paid for our drinks and he wouldn’t even let us finish them. I have receipts of the time we got our drinks at 1:36 am and he started yelling at 1:40. He was yelling at other customers too. Screaming “you all can talk on the sidewalk outside. Get out of here!” I understand wanting to go home and I know the service industry is very demanding. So I would suggest not letting customers in after 1:20 if you want everyone out by 1:40. But please please don’t serve drinks if you’re not going to give customers enough time to finish them. He came over to us and started yelling that we had to go. I said okay let me just chug this first we literally just got these. I also said that they shouldn’t serve drinks if they’re not going to give you at least 10 minutes to finish them. He responded no you have to leave now. I started chugging and he came back with a police officer not even 2 minutes later?! Like what in the heck? You’re going to go get a cop when we’re just trying to finish the drinks we had just paid for. We werent yelling or making a scene, like he was. I think it is very wrong to treat people like this. This was at 1:45 or earlier. We were back in our car in Richardson street parking garage before 1:48. I have never experienced anything like this. If there are cameras, I would suggest that the owner/manager watch the recording because this bouncer dude is running customers away.

Terrible experience at this bar. The redheaded bouncer was screaming at everyone to get out well before close (25 minutes+) after telling us we had time to get a drink not 5 minutes before. The bartender who served my drink was nice, but that doesnt make up for the treatment I received. I am telling all of my friends to avoid this place at all costs and I will never return there.

Out of staters do not go here!!! Tried to get in with my real id and 2 different bouncers try to tell me it’s fake.Was going to pull up birth certificate for them to see but at that point was not going to spend money at this place. Y’all might wanna train your people how to tell real vs fake cause they didn’t have a clue what they were doing. I recommend every bar in Greenville other than this one, never have had an issue at any other one.

I had the worst experience. I had the worst empanada of my life, literally no seasoning and meat smelled off. Horrible service.They ran out of a drink promised for a festival that they were a part of and didn’t offer a substitute.Bartenders were so flippant when I brought up my concerns.Not a place I would recommend way better options, walking distance.

While visiting Greenville we stopped at this bar for drinks. Very friendly staff, also helpful with information about the area! Their selection of liquor and beer was incredible, and the prices very fair! Love this place! Will be back on our next visit to Greenville!

Tony was the man! Made friends quick and hope to hang with him again when we move up! He made custom cocktails and gave great recommendations for what else to do in the area.

Great drinks and great atmosphere. Can’t speak on food, if they even have any. As far as I know, it’s just a bar. I’ve always come in around 7-7:30 and it’s always quiet, nice, and empty with music play decent. Great selection of music and the bar tenders are always great. Definitely one of my go to’s down here in Greenville.

Perfect spot for a good time. Comfortable and clean. Always try and grab a drink before heading to dinner downtown. Or a nightcap on the weekend. Highly recommended. Cheers!

Everytime I come here I always get the chance to have Kristy and/or Tony to serve me! They are amazing, always very attentive.Even when the bar is full they manage to take care of the bar and myself and make me feel very welcome!!! Love them!

The server gave me a free 3/4 full peanut butter draft. People that come in here are pretty nice also (unlike at another bar where this old guy was trying to pick me up). But i feel safer at this bar

Today, 16 May 2022, I entered Rey’s roughly around 2200. I requested my normal drink which is a Long Island ice tea without sour mix, and seltzer instead of coca-cola. The bartender Jessie from Greenville said. “That is not a Long Island” I responded I know but I don’t have a name for that drink. So Jessie called it “Lapjuice” my freind asked why would you call it “lapjuice” Jessie responded well it’s clear and will get you. Well. You know. My friend blushed. She was like. “I walked into that joke” and thus my drink has a name.Ask Jessie for a Lapjuice. 😂😂😂🤣🤣

This place has taken care of me for years. The people complaining are the ones that dont get out enough and are ignorant to how the bar scene is in Greenville. Kristie is one of the best bartenders in Greenville and is always a pleasure to be around. See for yourself.

To the people saying, “don’t shame the business for something they did once, they have good food and drinks, AND service!” Kindly realize the irony of your statement and apply that to all facets and aspects of life. Keep supporting businesses who have zero morals, no sense of humor or anything remotely that could make them seem “funny.” Death isn’t a joke, nor is addiction, you support people who allow crude behavior to take place and mock serious struggles and important ideologies that people should be actually following? It’s not even morality at this point, it’s the simple problem of disrespect that the human race continues to grow inside of, would they find it funny if I wrote on their sign, a joke about their relative passing from addiction? I highly doubt they’d find it funny, they’d probably feel the same way anyone else who read this sign did, that has basic respect. “The government only poisoned our water ONCE with lead, but think about all the great things they do!” Say it again. Pure irony.

This place is awesome and the people that work there are even better! Drinks are always well prepared and well priced. Definitely recommend if youre looking for something to do late night in downtown.

This establishment owned up to a sign that was posted by an unknown person that was appalling to some.I dont understand the need to leave negative reviews for things that dont affect the service, the food, etc, but people do that.In this case maybe without ever even being a patron or possibly living in the area.And certainly without knowing whether the management knew about it. (It appears they did not)They do it without thinking that it may impact a person just working trying to put food on the table, like the server or the bartender.Theres already a venue crisis that is closing down our local bars and restaurants. Lets not add to it.Ive not been here in a while, but when I have been, the drinks were cold, the service was good.

Like hello, you work for tips??…Now the business decides to pull an insensitive stunt with a distasteful sign advertising their drink specials, mocking the death of actor Matthew Perry.This place is super cringe, enjoy your money elsewhere

Anytime I come to Greenville Reys is a MUST stop for me. Have never had anything less than the best time. Always friendly service and has never felt like a bad atmosphere. Will always recommend to friends.

I have to be Totally Honest I won’t even look towards any other bar when I come downtown Rey’s is a great comfortable environment with friendly staff but I must point out this one individual in particular ZACK‼️ When you see this and decide to come ask for Zack great conversation respectful I’ve never had a drink that I frowned upon every drink was great Long Island 🏝️ tea excellent and so Zack inquired that I try the wings when I say I’m a picky eater when it comes to my chicken 🤦🏽‍♂️ I asked Zack to put a order in for a 12 piece and I will have these wings as long as I come and Zacks here music is great it’s just a vibe when you walk in the door thanks Zack‼️

I went and ordered a water and when i looked in the water, i seen mold floating in my drink. i asked the bartender to look at my cup and he said he could see anything cause he didn’t have his contacts in. okay, so he showed another bartender and she was literally pointing out the things she saw. he went to another hose to make me a new drink and it was still mold in that new drink. all i gotta say dont buy no drinks because they are very unsanitary. its crazy

I just moved here from Nevada and they kicked me out after one 4 drinks. They escorted me out out without any options after I tipped over 20 dollars besides my drinks. I recommend never come here because this was absolutely uncalled for.I cant believe they would have they would have the odesesty. I only talked to a hand full of people asking how to fit in.Worst bar Ive been too!!!!!!

I have come to this establishment and had a good time previously. However, my boyfriend’s last encounter coming to this establishment was TRAUMATIC to say the least. It was him & his bestfriend (whom are both black) & his fiancé (whom is white). Apparently the bar tender was a racist and had a problem with a white women being with 2 black men. Apparently this man called the cops on my boyfriend & his friend, telling the cops they had guns in the establishment (Which they absolutely did not, don’t even think they own guns) & that the two black men were holding the white women ( who is one of the boys fiancé) against her WILL!!! The cops came into the establishment & arrested both of them including a random black man whom the bar tender told the cops was with them (which he was not, that man had actually JUST walked in). After being embarrassed and traumatized by being handcuffed in front of all the other patrons, the cops soon realized this was a racist call and that they didn’t have guns on them at all & explained to them what happened. LONG STORY SHORT, if you are BLACK, tread VERY lightly coming to this establishment or just eliminate this from your plans all together, It is hard enough being Black in America. Yall be blessed & find somewhere else to drink🤍

I wish they had more food options at this restaurant. Otherwise it was good food. I loved they had mocktails that zero alcohol. Thats awesome!! I wish more restaurants had mocktails

Didnt eat on this visit although the atmosphere, music, service, and drinks were a perfect late night evening with friends! Bartenders are speedy, consistent, and personable.

This is a fantastic spot. The staff here always wonderful I usually go earlier over later because Im not a big fan of the night time crowd that gravitates. But this is a very fun spot go check it out.

Reys is our go to bar. No matter what kind of night it is, we always end up here. The drinks are great and the music is always on point.

Absolutely unacceptable that we would encounter this Psychotic and Sociopathic chalkboard post in Reys. The irony of these alcohol mongers making this post mocking the death of a man that was known to struggle with addiction is laughable. Youve made your whole living placating on peoples addictions, and this is what you draw up? I cringe thinking about the loser that drew this up laughing and showing this to his associates thinking this was in good taste. We cant say our hopes were too high going into a place known for underage drinking and roofies, but this was pretty low.

We came here after city tavern, the bartender with long hair was more interested in entertaining his friends than serve us. He wouldnt even change the channel on the TV to another football game. Only 3 other people in the whole place, so we left and went back to city tavern. Emily was awesome at city tavern!

Tried to celebrate my 21st birthday with my best friend, bouncer denied my ID - laughed in my face and told me there was no way it was real ID. He denied a few other ladies that tried going in after me. Seems egotistical and all he wanted to do was escalate the situation, doesn’t need to be a bouncer

Pretty classless mocking someone’s death. I don’t care who it is (A lister or not) death is nothing to joke about - ever. Apparently your moral compass needs a reset. And the only reason you issued an apology is because you got caught and people didn’t find your joke funny.

Reys used to be an institution to downtown drinking. Now all of the employees are incompetent at even having a customer. Walked in with a group of all 30plus old friends to have a drink on a Monday night around 10:30pm and were denied service. Bouncer took my friend’s ID and would not return it because he deemed it fake. All of the bartenders and their two friends sitting at the bar (which were the only guests in the establishment) mocked and made fun of us as we were being denied entrance at the door. After 20 or so minutes, police arrived to verify ID was in fact legitimate and bouncer finally gave ID back. Not only was it disastrous decision making from the bouncer, but insulting from the employees. We were kicked out while the staff shouted jokes at us and were made to wait on the sidewalk for police to arrive only to get our ID back. Places like this make their money from volume crowds on weekends, and can afford having employees that are so incompetent that they literally drive their only Monday night guests away. I cannot emphasize enough to take your money elsewhere. Downtown Greenville has great local bars and restaurants, and Reys is merely an embarrassment of what Greenville has to offer.

Honestly was a good environment. My group bar hopped and ended our night here. We showed up relatively early and secured a larger table for our group of about 9. More friends met up with us later and by then it was pretty full. Chairs were limited at that point as well as table space. Still a very fun night.

They people are crooks. A bartender charged me 25$ for a shot of whiskey. I am filling a claim with the credit card agency.

We didn’t even get to try it. We sat at a table for 15 minutes, and nobody helped us. The bar tender was complaining to some patrons about how the owner wanted to make the place a cocktail bar—but that there was no room for a cocktail bar. He ignored us. We eventually left.

Cass is the best bartender EVER. I will 100% be visiting again. We waited every where else during fall for Greenville. Not here. She’s awesome.

This establishment has been a mainstay for myself and company anytime that we are in the downtown Greenville area, time permitting of course. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and produce a great experience for anyone who comes in for a drink or otherwise. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone that comes to Greenville looking for an excellent night out, as it is my favorite by far.

I was visiting Greenville for the weekend and looking for a local bar where drink prices would be reasonable. I decided to come to this place even though the reviews werent the best simply because the prices looked good. Im not sure why this place doesnt have good reviews. Its definitely a dive bar but the service was good and the drinks were strong. There was a diverse mix of ppl in the bar and the music was descent. If I visit Greenville again, Ill be back!

After just a few drinks the employee escorted me out. After questioning why they said that one of the employees Said I was welcomed.Im new to town and cant believe I received this kind of service!!!!!!

Recommended by staff at my hotel, Reys turned out to be a great place to meet locals and enjoy the Sunday night special which is $10 bottles of champagne. Very nice establishment with awesome bartenders. As always, if you found my review helpful please take a second to hit the 👍, thanks!

This is our favorite bar downtown for casual drinks and socializing. The bartenders are amazing, drinks are not expensive, and theres hardly ever a line. Only downside is it can get very crowded inside but the people are always great and everyone is welcome!

Not too fancy, yet still clean with happy staff. Tony the bar manager was welcoming, kept the bar entertained, and was able to multitask orders from different parties.

This is, by far, the best little bar on Main Street! As an older lady, I always try to stop by early in the evening when its a bit quiter and very pleasant. After 9pm, this place draws a younger crowd and is always a huge party! Great drink specials...especially Monday nights.

Reys was super fun and had a very chill vibe. We had a group of 16 and we were all fairly comfortable sitting towards the back. We arrived at about 9 on a Saturday night and it wasnt too crowded. This changed by around 10:30. A final plus is that most well drinks were $4.50. In all I would definitely reccomend this place whether you are in a small or large group.

Drinks... drinks... staff was awesome and the lemon drop martini was outrageously delicious.

Visited twice during my stay and both nights it was very crowded. Good crowd consisting of around 24 to 25 year olds. The bar tenders were fast with there orders and did not stand over you while you closed out your tab. In all it was a good establishment, and probably the best we visited in Greenville.

We were paying customers and were told to leave due to over crowding.Would not recommend.I am not reviewing the wrong Bar.This is the correct bar. We were already inside and had purchased food along with drinks and was asked to leave by the bouncer following the instructions of the General Manager.

Worst venue I’ve ever experienced!!No customer service skills. If you close at 2am. Don’t ever grab my paid for drink and throw it away. Never seen such privilege in my LIFE! I havent gone out downtown in quite a while. Reys is the first place I went to. It is a nice place and has a pretty chill vibe. Im sure that Ill be visiting this establishment again.

This establishment was ok to start..... but after a few drinks and watching the patronage we quickly realized drugs we prevelent every where... the night ended as we watched a older lady minding her business get attacked by three other women in the bar... the two bouncers then proceeded to to grab her arm and one leg and throw this older lady on to the sidewalk where her head bounced off tge concrete.... I would not recommend this location to anyone ever... the staff had no control of the location and the bouncers had no control over themselves or respect for people....

Its THE place to be on a late-night Friday/Saturday night in Greenville downtown.Fancy but relaxed atmosphere, very fair prices (Gin tonic less than $5), fast service and from 11pm this place is packed with a lot of nice and pretty party people.If you want a good time, go to REYS!

Dear God, this bar changed my life. All of the staff is so beautiful, especially Miguel. . . He makes my heart skip a beat. I always feel welcome and safe with their top notch beefcake security guards and I love their drink specials.Ps. Fooyay and Turtle can make you the best $5 cheeseburger youve ever had any Thursday.

Fun place with the only thing is the music could have been a little more diverse for the 5 stars. Drinks though were poured exactly how youd like them to be and service was quick. Only complaint is the small bathrooms ha.

Read in Greenville News this was a great taco Tuesday spot. Where did this reporter go? Not Reys.Anna our bartender, not so friendly. When we asked about tacos at 5:10 pm, she said, not ready till 5:30. Hmmm. By 5:40, we asked again of another worker, he said we had to order from our friendly bartender Ann, who reluctantly took our order.Yikes!This is no go spot for downtown Greenville, SC

This establishment is terrible…I went a week ago and had a good time with friends…Found out the bartenders are thieves tho…I paid my tab with a tip in cash and 3 days later my card was double charged $459…I went to speak with the manager and was told that I only gave $110 cash and his bartenders don’t steal…Now who pays any of the tab if I was gonna run off after letting them run my card…And if I gave $110 cash why was my card charged the full amount so I asked where’s the $110 and he couldn’t give a straight forward answer…Long story short this is a untrustworthy establishment and I’m pretty sure race played a part in it too

Not a very good bar experience. The service was not very friendly or helpful. The bartender was concentrating on paperwork, and on the phone . The first beer I tried was very flat. The second was ok.The bartender never asked if we would like another drink. I would definitely not recommend this place.

Im new to the Greenville area (from Florida) anyway. Ended up going here for NYE because everything else was packed. The atmosphere was laid back, drinks were reasonably priced, super cute and friendly bartender (blonde) and they even gave out champagne to bring in the new year. Now Im sure youre like wait those are all positive things why only one star. Ok so I was with my husband and our friend. They both went to the restroom. The lines to both the mens/womens restroom were super long. Our friend got to the womens restroom first. She let my husband in with her so he could use the same bathroom. The short bouncer guy gets angry and kicks both my husband and our friend out the bar. Im confused so I asked him why. The bouncer accused them of having sex in the restroom. Thankfully Im not an irrational person because accusations like that can really ruin someones life. I can totally understand them not wanting men and women in the same restroom for that reason, but to accuse someone of that without proof is wrong and could really cause a lot of trouble. Ill never return to this establishment. Not only was it embarrassing but the bouncer was extremely rude and nasty.

All in all this is a great environment, its friendly staff make it an always visit place whenever I get the chance.However take heed when visiting on the weekends, due to the popularity of this place, its usually shoulder to shoulder. Still worth stopping by for a drink or two though.

Went here for a welcome back atmosphere and the drinks were well priced and the food was amazing. They were out of several items when my party and I arrived, but Id easily go back again.

Great service, friendly bartenders. This is where many other bartenders go after work so that should tell you something. Loved the music also! Not the typical top 40 garbage you can hear anywhere.

Normally go there during happy hour. On weekends it get loud, with college students. On Thursdays they have a great $5 burgers between 4 and 7.

One of the nicer bars on Main Street. ONE OF THE NICEST BATHROOMS ever, if you happen to be in need of one whilst crawling bars. The second mini-bar in the back is a nice addition.

The bartender are rude ! This establishment is extremely unprofessional ! As I walked in Reys and proceeded to sit at the bar the bartender threw the napkins at me and when confronted about the unprofessionalism the bartenders said “that’s just how it is “ .Do not support this establishment

Last time I went there the bartender put a bunch of stuff on my tab while I was gone (walked down the street for a while). And then proceeded to berate me when I asked for the itemized tab. Not to be trusted.
