OYO Hotel Houston N Fm-1960 Champions TX

Needed a cheap room after adding another day to a Houston trip, and Hotwire picked this. Was clean, and my car didnt broken into, so that was good. Not wild about the friendship door, and also the security latch on the outside door was missing half.

A very nice motel, cheap and convenient, very comfortable to stay in, not too noisy! The location is also ideal. Thank you for the service.

Rented out a king size room for a night here , when I went to check in the guy working there that night gave me the key to my room and once I got there the room room was way smaller than what I had rented out , I went and tell him and he said there was no more king size beds available anymore that there was probably a problem online when I went to rent out that room , he said since it was a mistake on their behalf that they would cancel the booking and I would get my money back and the 25$ deposit… days later I called the hotel to ask what happened since I haven’t gotten my money back he said they still working on that , but I still haven’t gotten my money backUpdate… it’s been almost two weeks and still haven’t gotten my money back , tried emailing them had no response from them either.. worst hotel , won’t even give you your money back even they make a mistake with your reservation

My whole trip I was in a room without a working TV,I asked the rude worker who worked about 12:00pm(Sunday),told me that someone knocked and now they are gone.I asked for a room with a working television and she told me NO.Was a horrible experience,I cant believe I spent my only vacation in a room with no entertainment..

It was terrible. Nothing like the pictures, dirty, mildewy, the staff lied a lot and were aggressive when I wanted to leave. I accidentally left a bridesmaid dress there when I checked out and they acted like Id never checked in. Had to badger them to get it back. The housekeeping came in to yell at me for not thinking the room was clean. When it WASNT. I did not feel safe. Avoid avoid avoid.

Front desk and manager rude and bad customer service. Steal your deposit. Rooms have roaches, toilets stay clogged. You can see through the door frames and air conditioning, refuse to give you towels, etc……. Too many things. Aliso OYO points is fraud you can’t even use them

When I say I WISH I was exaggerating about this review... SMH! I booked and paid for the room only but when I got there, there was a $25 deposit, I was fine with that. However, when we when you the room we were greeted by roaches. I let the guy know about it and he apologized and gave us another room and assured us there was no unwanted occupants but again even more roaches. It took them almost three weeks to refund our money.Don’t waste you time or money on this location.People clearly live there and the rooms are not kept clean by the guest or housekeeping.This location should be shut down!!!Either way, the guy knew those rooms had roaches. He knows those rooms are nasty and they still take peoples hard earned money, that’s sad.

Rooms were ok, saw a couple of small cockroaches, manager at night was quick to act when we complained about noise.You can hear everything in the adjoining room and long term tenants were very noisy. Location is not the best but they have gates they shut down at night.

Please keep in mind the property does NOT look like the photos posted by the facility dated 2 months ago. It looks a little shady, the rooms have a slight odor, the lighting is not the best and the overall ambiance is a little run down. The bed looks similar to what is posted but the blanket was lumpy and questionable. The security cameras work so that is something in their favor. The 2 front desk individuals that assisted me were were helpful and courteous and that why my review is high.

Worst hotel i been too , soon as i walked in turned the light on i saw a roach, i didn’t even get any sleep because i had to worry for bugs or roaches crawling on me or my pregnant girlfriend, or a crack head trtint to come in our room , definitely a trap hotel . felt like i was living i. the hood . i also had to go buy my own sheets their sheets are to disgusting. i messed up by not reading the reviews before booking it online i usually do . but it was good price and i was in a hurry , but definitely not a good place to stay if you can afford other hotels , i could affort a way better hotel just was ina hurry and the pictures looked good but in person is nothing like the pictures so don’t fall for it , that hotel is literally for crack heads , and trapping

Stayed for a night. Its just your basic Motel. Not in the best part of town, but I knew that before booking.Service was good and the staff was nice and helpful.The room is ok and clean enough, beds are fine and the AC works well. The only downside was that I had to evict two cockroaches form the room.

Went to website to reserve room. Date was correct when i clicked reserve took me to another website. I did not bother to confirm date. Booked and received confirmation for 2 months out. Called reservation center and was told no issue after they booked correct day. I was told I booked thru a 3rd party and i would have to cancel with them. Did call 3rd party and OYO refuses to cancel booking and give money back. I did all correct even going thru directly thru their web site. The 1st person told me they have had other issues like this. Seems like a scam to me. So, I am out $$ and they are refusing to cancel a trip that we will not even need 2 months away. Be careful booking thru their web site triple check your dates and they do not change. OYO will not refund your money even though error is on their end.

Pictures are VERY deceiving, I asked for a smoke free room, the room smelled like cigarettes 100%, sheets were dirty, bathroom door wouldn’t shut. I check out 15 minutes after checking in. It was absolutely disgusting. Location is super Sketchy and No refund. I went to Wingate by Wyndham Houston / Willowbrook (10 min away) instead which was way more comfortable and cleaner.

This was my first experience with the OYO chain of budget hotels. I have to say that this was hands down the worst experience I have yet faced in the entirety of my life, in regards to hotels. There were bugs crawling on the walls and the floor. I felt disgusting even being in the room.I know when shopping for budget friendly options that one should tamper their expectations… but geez. Do yourself a favor, don’t ever go to an OYO hotel, or at least, don’t go to this one. Your mental and physical well being will thank me later.

Booked 2 nights, the room is clean but smells strange… The sheets are clean but there is some plastic sheet underneath that is not very pleasant. And the wifi is completely worthless, at least from my room. Would not recommend this hotel. One positive thing is the fridge and microwave in the room…

This is an update to the review I did last month. Changed the stars from 3 to 4. I see many changes here. There is not the traffic there was last time. It is cleaner. As always the staff are attentive and helpful. Good job.>>>>>>>>It is hard to say these words because the staff are the best. But to be honest the motel is not what it was even 6 monthsh ago when I thought the place was a 10. I stayed a few months back and they were allowing one of their employees to strip a car down to the chassis in the parking lot. Made the place look like a very seedy place. The place now looks dirty and unsafe.

Booked for 2 nights... pictures don’t match place lot of shopping areas and food across the street walking distance, when we told front office they room 223 was invested with roaches Response “Go to Another Hotel” Y’all want to be a Good Hotel and stay in Business handle these Roaches all Rooms!! Beds were comfy our room was clean just the Roaches.. don’t see them until u bring in food and they come alive..

Everything was nice. Could’ve been more clean though. Found a hair in my shower and saw a bug in there too. Fridge worked well and tv worked. Air was nice and cold and I felt a decent level of safety (I walked to the store at night to grab some drinks). Close to lots of good food and shopping.

I dont even want to give this one star, but its my only option. We booked this room off a booking site because we were playing ball nearby and just needed a place for the night. Didnt have or need high expectations because we just wanted to go to bed. When checking in, the hotel requires a $25 deposit to receive a remote to the TV. When we got to our room, the TV cord wasnt even long enough to reach the plug, so......There were glass shards in the shower. The mattress is wrapped in plastic so every time you move, the beds make a lot of noise and the photos of the rooms on line arent what the rooms look like. The woman at check-in ran our credit card for the full price of room, plus a deposit for the remote. The next morning she refunded the $25 deposit when we returned the remote. Then, we received an email form the online hotel booking page that we were a no-show and the hotel charged our card a SECOND TIME. When trying to discuss with the hotel thinking thats an easy fix, they would repeatedly hang up on me. Also went through the hotel booking site to try and get refund and the hotel would never respond to the booking site either. I can understand if the staff isnt trained well enough to know how to enter our reservation as a third-party site, but I will not be punished and charged twice because of lack of training. The customer service is deplorable.UPDATE: The manager of this location got in touch with me directly after this review. She was very willing to help, but then we got to a point where she asked me to call the main office and clear it up. I had already called them many times prior and they simply would tell me I had 2 reservations (because of how it was entered by location). I requested that, if she wants to make it right, its not my job to call them and asked if she would do that. She did the leg-work and finally got my refund issued. I understand mistakes happen but how the establishment deals with them 100% reflects the business and this business as a whole handled it poorly. Will never look into an OYO again, but I wanted the review to reflect that it was, in fact, remedied.

This is a very clean and well kept property. The rates are very reasonable. Management goes out of their way to help you. Housekeeping actually cleans the room.

The rooms themselves were decent but this place seems commonly full of shady people always outside.The wifi in this hotel is the worst I have ever seen I never thought an average speed of 50-70KB per second was even possible to have I had to use my personal phones hotspot which was far superior if you need internet for work or just for simple leisure please dont stay here.Do yourself a favor and stay at Motel 6 in bammel it is similarly priced and is slightly further down. It is superior in every way and even has excellent wifi.

I stayed here for more than 4 weeks, they didnt add my taxes that I paid on to my room or give me my money back. There will be a call to the BBB ABOUT THIS ISSUE, also there is false advertisement about there pet policy they clearly dont allow pets there is a sign in the office window that says so. This place hags horrible morning staff and anyone that stays here should be warned they rip you off any chance they can get. They chargeyou 65$ andthe add clearly says 38$

Stayed a week beginning of April and had no issues. So tried again end of April. First didnt have room that I booked and charged me a higher rate for upgrade. Then cable in room didnt work, WiFi constantly in and out, no room service, one outlet for three appliances(tv, fridge, and microwave). To top visit off a guy below me passed(prayers for family) and I got boxed in by ambulance, firetruck, and police for five hours! I dont recommend staying here...

I paid my $25 deposit....decided I was gonna dye my hair and in doing so I got some dye on a towel and a minute amount on pillowcase. I agree I should pay something for them. But they kept $20 of my deposit for 1 towel and pillowcase. I AM NOT HAPPY!!! I stay with these people at this Oyo alot....and for them to keep so much of deposit for a towel is ridiculous!!!

I love to visit this hotel it’s very convenient.

Only stayed one night. It was clearly obvious that the room had been recently renovated, but found the room clean, the neighboring guests were quiet enough. Liked that they had a mini fridge and microwave in room, but the freezer part of the mini fridge allowed my frozen ice cream to melt by morning.

More bugs than crack heads which is hard to manage got them cluckin outside all n itsight nevermind the Indians stealing my stuff while I wasnt in the room, place is a terrible and wouldnt ever suggest getting a room here unless you wanna nap with bedbugs and crackheads

Rooms are pretty decent. Beds comfortable. Access to coffee and snack machines. Staff was friendly and they do walk arounds every shift to make sure property is safe. Pet friendly was a plus for me!

DO NOT STAY HERE! I PAYED to stay and my phone was dead and they rushed me out of my room before i could call my Uber. So i plugged my phone in the lobby and they kicked me out of the lobby before my phone could charge so because of these A$$&@“s I had to walk with my luggage to somewhere to charge my phone enough to get an Uber to pick me up. Very very rude and disrespectful staff and owner ship of this place.

The pictures were very deceiving, this place was trash. I immediately tried to get my refund. I don’t know what was going on in some of the other rooms but it seemed shady. I felt like I was going to get stabbed walking to my room at night. 20/10 would not recommend

For those without transportation, the city and school bus stops are right at your front door, as is Victor’s family restaurant, and other eateries within hollering distance. On site laundry and daily maid service, supported by a fantastic management staff, makes this motel a homely stopover, or lengthy stay. You will feel safe here because the management staff does not tolerate shenanigans from its guests or others. It’s a well-executed package that you will ENJOY!! For all of this, I give my rarely posted rating of 5 STARS.

I needed the room for five days originally and ended up needing to stay couple more days Ms.Connie had been more that professional and courteous to me in my stay and got me the best price in town the rooms are clean and of there is any sort of problem the staff takes care of it immediately! Again Ms. Connie at the receptionist office deserves a promotion and raise

Sonali, the manager, is really good at what she does. I appreciated the customer service she gave as well. For this reason, I definitely recommend staying here.

VERY poor service. First off the room was filled with roaches and spiders they did nothing to resolve this issue. This is by far the WORST experience I’ve ever had in my life. PLEASE DO NOT LOOK AT THIS motel.

The hotel itself was great but the company needs some major work. I used a promo code which was for flat 50% off + 100% cash back i recieved the 50% off right off the bat but have spent the last 5 days going back and forth with oyo support about recieving my 100% cash back. Im extremely disappointed that this is even an issue and that oyo is not being true to their word in honoring their own promo code. I hope oyo will make this right so I am able to change my rating.

Really nice place to stay sine the total revamp!Everything has been redone from the ground up. The rooms are cozy. I personally like hard wood flooring and bright attractive inside paint.

Very poor! Booked on Priceline, get there and first off does not look like pictures..then they told us that they were booked! Under construction and also had mattresses in the lobby!!!! Will not answer phone for Priceline to get my refund!! Horrible dont go!

Room was very dirty, tv didnt work, bed and sheets had cigarette burns, $25 deposit(dont know why), door didnt fit the frame so the bugs had free enrty, door handle had gum on it

The employees were friendly and helpful but the quality of the room was not the same as the photos. The room smelled of cigarettes and we had a roach on the bed.

What a scam! They require you to allow them to telemarket the spit out of you. Just in order to book a room.I do not consider this a hotel Id like to stay at. I do consider this a terrifying and dangerous part of 1960.

Previous tenants smoked inside and removed the smoke detector, sheets smelled, neighbors were loud until 2am and got arrested! Floor was wet when we arrived, and the entire room was damp for the whole stay.

I Love The Athmosphere! The feel Like home Welcoming Staff!! The Nice Size Comfotorbale Beds, as well as how clean it is!

This isnt a motel, its a homeless motel. There are people living in tents right next to the property, fights break out daily in the parking lots, old junk cars being worked on, drug deals on the walkways, and dumpster divers in broad daylight.

I booked a room online paid 63$ and then was charged an additional 25 once I got there beds are like sleeping on a cloud the ac was leaking water from the inside and the shower had low pressure not what I had in mind for 88 dollars I had better for less

Just needed a inexpensive place to clean up as my pipes burst in my house. The place was clean, friendly and would definitely go there again. Nothing fancy, but nice!

When I arrive to the room and didn’t seem like it was clean stains on the couch and soiled linen and no hot water I asked for a refund under 30 minutes in being in the room and they denied me, moved me to another room where bugs came from under the TV and all the channels didn’t work.

The place is terrible, there are cockroaches, the refrigerator leaks water, the shower, the curtain is very small.

Expensive, very old, the room had cockroaches in the bathroom and the lights did not work, very bad experience, I do not recommend it
