Amazing service !! The ladies did an amazing job. We really enjoyed our pedicures, my mom loved her nails a lot. She has had a lot of bad experiences and haven’t gotten her nails did in years, however today she was so satisfied with her tech. I got a massage and it was so soothing my masseuse was so comforting and nice. Even though we live on the other side of town, when we’re in the area we will be back here.
My experience from the front desk to my seat were amazing! I didn’t have a wait at all. Upon sitting,I was greeted my Alphonso and Jessica, who were very welcoming. Jessica did my nails and Alphonso did my toes, and everything came out perfectly!! They have amazing personalities to go along with their skills. I’m so thankful I found them. They are my new Go To!!
I love getting my nails done here. Every team member that has helped me has been excellent and does great work. I recently got a facial done and I love how new and fresh my skin feels! I’ll definitely be returning for more services in the future
I have visited many nail salons and I just moved to Houston. I tried this one out because it was close to my house. I will probably not be returning. Everyone was nice enough, but I purchased the highest level pedicure, and I felt rushed and my polish is very uneven. I was not offered anything to drink nor was I offered to get the chair massage which I saw other people doing. I just felt brushed off to be honest. I wont be going back here unless I get in a real bind.
Truly disappointed with my experience here. I came in for a standard manicure with gel polish. The technician started by asking me if preferred to keep the length or to cut them down which was great but I told her that I just wanted to shape them and specifically asked for an almond shape. During the entire filing and prepping process, she was sooooo indulged in the conversations happening around her that she wasnt even paying any particular attention to how much she was filing down my nails. It took her 3 tries to finally get it right but by the third time, I had lost so much length that my nails look ridiculous with an almond shape and its not even symmetrical. You can see in the photos that she kept squaring off the tip. So annoyed since it took me some time to grow out my natural nails.
My recent trip to Midtown Nails was a rollercoaster of emotions. Hoping for a relaxing shellac color change, I encountered unexpected obstacles. Initially, Nancy, the friendly redhead known for her excellent service, was occupied with a customer, so I was attended to by another technician. Unfortunately, the session was far from pleasant, with rough handling and passive-aggressive behavior from beginning to end. It was clear she wanted to provoke a reaction, especially considering her surprise when I remained calm. Adding insult to injury, the salon charged an extra $10 for cuticle removal, a service that should be standard. I politely declined the extra charge. So what does the technician do? Created a space between my cuticle and nail bed while painting my toes, particularly noticeable on my big toes. I then asked if she could ONLY remove the cuticles on my big toes and still charge me the $10, to avoid being too difficult. However, she remained in her negative attitude and removed the paint on ALL of my toes, unnecessarily removing all of the cuticles in the process, continuing to handle my feet roughly. As a black woman, I often feel stereotyped in such situations, as if assumed not to tip or cause trouble. When Nancy became available, I eagerly requested her. despite the unfriendly techs assumptions she passively displayed, I tipped generously for her preparation of my feet. Along with Nancy of course. However, the salon failed to provide the soothing atmosphere I expected, leaving me disappointed. If I were to post my toes with obvious gaps exposing my cuticles all because you charge something that SHOULD be included, that’s what you’d want your future customers to see? My exposed cuticles all because you want to charge extra for something that takes 10 seconds? Take pride in your work Midtown nail salon. How arrogant, prideful, GREEDY, and trifling. Shame on y’all. I cant recommend Midtown Nails based on this visit. Or just request Nancy with the red hair
I was in the area and randomly stumbled across this place. It’s really quaint but it wasn’t busy. I went on a Wednesday at around 530. The nail tech was very attentive, she had me in and out. Their standard pedicure includes hot stones which I typically don’t find at most places. They’re really affordable too. And the best part they have non toxic vegan basil polish options. They were playing all my jams!! Will be back.
My favorite nails I’ve ever had. I was just trying to pass time in the area and decided to get my nails done and was blown away. Jessica is sooo good and meticulous. My nails look incredible and I’ve gotten so many compliments on it already and it’s only been one day. Jessica actually chose the nail color too! They did my pedicure at the same time which was different but so good. Lovely experience from top to bottom.
Ladies beware, I would NOT recommend this place, the good reviews are mostly for a discount.I’m only giving this place two stars because the pedicure was fine, however the shaping is the worst I’ve ever experienced. It’s uneven and crooked and it upsets me. There’s not even a nail drying station. The price is NOT worth returning for either, I was charged $55 for a basic pedicure, dip soak off and polish. Polish itself was $10.Do your nails at home yourself, it’ll look better and save you money.
I honestly used to love this place. I keep trying to give them chances to redeem themselves. My toe nails are either cut uneven or extra short compared to the opposite foot. This is a photo days after my set. I noticed immediately a few of the nails were placed on crooked but I ignored it. Since my nails are growing out, I can see every flaw. The acrylic wasn’t placed on evenly, my cuticles were not pushed back so there is a lift. Honestly when you find one good person that you like at the salon; stick with them, do not go to other technicians.
I went in for a dip nail powder and after being passed on to two different technicians, a lady that seemed to have the experience started working on my nails. She was respectful of my concerns of my sensitive cuticles. The problem was she was so consumed in conversations going on in the salon that I didnt feel she was paying attention to my nails. After finishing, my nails were not placed in the LED dryer, I got an old fashion small fan. She didnt even wait a full 3 minutes until she started putting oil and realized one of the nails were ruined. She filed it down and fixed it. My nails were put in the fan again and rushed. When I left I realized 3 of my nails were smudged. I didnt go back in to have it corrected. I wont be returning. Customer service is a big thing to me and it seems to be a hit or miss at this location based on WHO is your nail technician.
This review is regarding one nail technician named Jennifer. She did a shellac manicure for me on 5/2/2021 and her work is some of the worst I have ever experienced. Sloppy application, too many layers, polish looks messy, chipped after one day. My natural nails were long and I asked for a trim and round nail shape....not sure what shape she did but they are not even/straight and many jagged edges. All the other nail techs that attended my daughter and I did great with the exception of Jennifer. She either needs more training or to update her eyeglasses prescription...terrible work.
My cuticles were cut to hell with the drill. 4 days later my hands JUST stopped hurting and the swelling is going down. I made an appointment but had to get my hands done while sitting uncomfortably in a pedicure chair. I Was overcharged for my service. My daughter got her own press ons on and I got a refill, they charged me $70!!! 10-15 more than they should have. They lost a potential term client.
Worst Nail salon I hated them. She said they were French tip when all she did was add a white tip and put clear powder over it. I wasted over 2 hours for a simple request. She also file my cuticles down and they hurt the next day because they were not done right! Paid 40$ for ugly nails and rude service!
🥲 I love going for pedicures but everytime I get my fingernails done I’m sorely disappointed. Either I get a manicure where I have to pay for cuticle care (my only reason for getting a manicure) or I get my nails done in a basic short shape and they end up uneven and misshapen. There is no cuticle care included in getting your nails done so if your nail beds look terrible, they’re just gonna slap some paint over them. The last appointment, I asked the lady to put a false tip on because my middle nail is shorter than the rest.. and she had no idea what I was talking about..and idk if the lady was inattentive or just older and didn’t care but she filed below my nails (and this was with me paying for cuticle care, not free) 🙃 so now a lil over a week later I still have skin peeling from where my fingers (not nails) were roughly mistreated. I feel like my hands looked better before getting my nails done here. 3 stars just because I love getting my feet done by Tiffany and was offered refreshments.
I have been to this nail shop a few times. My experiences have not been the greatest. They make up their own prices and overcharge. The quality of their work is not near what they should be charging.
Was there last weekend & got $135 worth of services done for me and $90 for my daughter. All was well I loved my set but that following Tue one of my nails came off while I was drying off from the shower. Here it is a week later and Im down 3 nails. I cant go back because I dont live in Houston, I was just visiting. Them coming off never hurt at all so Im not sure if it was the glue or the method used but one coming off while Im on a dinner date was super embarrassing.
From the beginning when I walked in, all the stylus had an attitude with me. As I was getting my nails done she did not take off my previous nail before applying my new color. The entire time neither of my stylist paid attention to me. I am very displeased with their customer service, especially how they communicated with me.
Great value and love the friendly service! I dont feel cheated when I leave. Now a days its hard not to resent the prices of nails these days. This place is a reasonable price with comparable service.
I always ask a nail tech if they are able to recreate a picture I show them to save each other time and effort; they said they could. They comfortably let me choose the colors I wanted, different for 5 fingers, but pushed me toward other colors I didn’t want on my nails. They refused to give me powder for the color tips and insisted on shellac (since it costed more) when other places would’ve been okay with color powder. After being adamant, we started my nail design and it was fine but the shape of how they were doing the shellac was sloppy. I told them once it happened, didn’t wait until they finished all 10 nails, so they knew to correct it but they still came out crooked. Would give 3 stars but they cooperated nicely. These were $75 without tip
My wife and I actually came here for massages and we were beyond impressed! Tina gave my wife one of the best deep tissue massages she has ever had. She keeps raving about it and how much she wants to go back. Highly recommend for a great massage.
It’s not fancy but decent work and price and speedy. I have been twice and will return.
Waiting to get my car fixed so i saw it was a nail shop near by decided to go in. Sat down greeted properly but I should’ve know when I ain’t see the proper nail equipment what was up. But I sat down any way tech begins service and nails are cut uneven and she says it’s my cuticles. I told her I don’t like it she said it’ll look better we’ll that 1 nail never looked any better and I was upset about that 1 glad I didn’t let her finish be because I would’ve flipped a script in there.I did try to tip for wasting product. But they declined. And talked about me but words don’t hurt as much as losing your money you worked hard for
Got a deep tissue massage and it was FANTASTIC. The girl I had did a better job than any other massage therapist Ive ever had. Head to toe service, hot stones, and warm towels in-between. Lasted for 1 hr and I feel great after. Would go again and recommend.
Best pedicure ever! My husband and I went there today after our Valentines day lunch and received the Volcano pedicure! It was great! Alfonso took great care of my feet while another lady did my manicure. Both did a great job and my husband enjoyed his pedicurea also, I will be back!
I always have such a great experience here! I’ve never have to wait as a walk-in and when I book online, they always have the time I want. My acrylic or dip nails that I usually get are always exactly what I want. The last full set I got (including removing the last set) took 2 hours but it was the best I’ve ever had. Anna really took her time and made them look so clean and pretty. I’ve had the classic pedicure and the signature pedicure and the signature pedicure is well worth the extra $15.
They up charge every service after you have told them no. Don’t go there.
Absolutely perfect. I felt welcomed even before I stepped into the salon! The technician doing my nails was very kind throughout the entire service, she made sure my nails were exactly as I wanted them asking as she got to each step of the process, very patient in allowing me to choose a color and did not push different products onto me that I wasn’t searching for. She was also very gentle. Definitely coming back!
They do a great job but they harass you with the upselling. Somehow the same exact pedicure I got last time is now ten dollars more but there are no changes to their price list.
My nail Tech was Jessica D. She was so good! I got a classic pedicure with Shellac & removed my acrylic nails with her, she took her time & even asked me how I wanted my water temp. 💅🏽💅🏽
I’ve been multiple times and received excellent service. The technicians were nice and did a great job. The last time I went and received a pedicure, I also got a fairly large infection on my toe requiring antibiotics. I’m disappointed because I liked the place. If you go, ask that they wash the tools again. I know they didn’t mean any harm, but I’m on week 6 of a decent amount of pain! Edit: Now on round 2 of antibiotics. I unfortunately would not recommend unless cleaning procedures change.
Nails started popping off after a week. one came off had to go get it fixed
My husband and I went in on Friday and got 2 pedicures and I got a manicure. My apologies pedicure was perfect the lady was great, but my husbands lady didn’t even paint his toes like it comes with and he asked for. For my nails I got dip powder and they came out so thick and on 2 nails I had tips added one is pointed upward and the other is thicker than all my other nails. The shape of them was absolutely horrible I had to go home and file them just to get them to look the same and they still look strange because of how thick they are and the fact that I don’t have the right tools to fix this myself. We still paid and tipped well but I don’t think I’ll go back.
I LOVE THIS PLACE! This is the only salon I’ll go to and it’s all because of Poncho. He’s the BEST! I have never been disappointed with my nails. He executes perfectly and he has amazing customer service skills. He is a true asset and gem. Highly recommend
Ladies if you are particular about your manicures/pedicures/design/shape: request Anna. She is Master at her craft and extremely meticulous. She really listens and considers the requests of her clients. I am always satisfied. I never have anxiety anymore wondering if I will like my nails. Amazing service and comparable pricing. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🔥🔥🔥
Excellent! After several disappointing experiences at other nail studios nearby, I really loved my gel manicure and pedicure here this weekend. The place is clean, all the staff are friendly and accommodating, they have lots of quality colors, and they are detailed. I am very picky about not being rushed and making sure that all the extras, like callous treatment, are done right. Here, they really make sure you are getting the full experience. The atmosphere is definitely more traditional, but I tend to like that.
Came this afternoon for a gel pedicure. They got me right in. The lady who did my pedicure was very attentive and had great attention to detail. I’ll certainly be back ☺️
Visited for the first time, and it’s by far the worst pedicure I’ve ever paid for! The lady was so rough from the nail trim to the ‘massage. I don’t think I’ve ever had someone rub my shins so hard! Definitely wasn’t worth the $45 I paid, the only thing I won’t complain about it Polish job. Also for $45 you can at least offer some water! Disappointing since it’s within walking distance of my BFF new place
Ive been twice to this place now and I love it. Theyre usually super busy and the place is kind of small, thats the only down side. BUT the guy Alfonso that has done my nails both times, is amazing! Hes super fast and does an excellent job!
This is the best nail salon I have found in Houston! My nails and pedicure were done to perfection and there wasn’t a wait. Even though they are incredibly busy, I was able to get in and out quickly with perfection. Nice atmosphere, professional and very clean. I will definitely be coming back. I live part time out of state and when I need to get my nails done I know it’s time to come back to Houston.
Poor service and they over charged me for my nails.
This place was great! They got us in faster and charged significantly less than others salons I had called. We were in and out super quick and the quality couldn’t have been any better in my opinion. When my daughter was stuck deciding on a color, the technician tested similar colors out for her without us even asking her to! Wish I had gotten her name to give her appropriate credit!! Keep up the awesome service Midtown!!!
The only thing I disliked was that my room wasnt ready for my lash appointment. I think appointments should be organized better. Nancy did my lash extensions and they were perfect, EXACTLY what I wanted. She also did my French Dip nails and they were perfect as well. Ill definitely be back 🤗🙏🏾
I really enjoyed my time at midtown.. my pedicure was enjoyable and relaxing I had my nails done by jeena (or Tina I can’t hear names super well sorry!) but she was sweet and funny and made me feel welcomed. I’ll just say the front desk was pretty passive but I think she was doing homework so it’s okay I guess. 8ill be back for jeena! She did an amazing job on my pedicure it looks great even two weeks later! ;)
This is my go to place for manicures and pedicures. They always have openings during the mornings and days. Gets more crowded towards closing time, with everyone rushing in 30 minutes before closing and wanting 1-2 hours of work done.Tina and April are my go to ladies. Very sweet and excellent skills.New massage therapist,Lorena, got me hooked. She is absolutely fabulous, and really knows exactly where I needed work done, without me needing to explain anything.Family friendly, clean, and plenty of parking right next to the store front.
It is the worst place to get your nails done close midtown. Dirty place, rude Manicurist and terrible uncomfortable seats.I went yesterday for the first & last time, and requested a shellac service on hands and feet. While the Manicurist was taking off the shellac I had, she left my nails paper thin, and when I told her it was hurting that she was filing my nails to much she told me twice you´re such a baby, I do this all the time and the second time she said I know better how to do this. The final result was a shellac separated from the cuticle (as if I had done my nails a week ago) and paper thin nails. With the amount I paid I should´ve gone to a higher quality place.Don´t waste time and energy there.
I love Midtown, especially Alphonso! The attention he pays to his clients is amazing. I love the way he does my nails, never any complaints. Anything I ask him to do creativity wise, he does! I would never go to any other!
Best pedi by Sandy and mani from Nancy. Would recommend
Great nail spa. Try the jelly pedicure. The staff is efficient but provides a relaxing atmosphere.
The lady who did my pedicure was super nice but the work wasn’t the best. My only issue is I didn’t like the attitude of the manager or owner when I was telling her about my gift card. She was non engaging. It’s like she didn’t want to be there. I didn’t like that. Will not be coming back.
Special day as I have never done a manicure and I had a great experience here. the staff were all very professional and we felt very welcome. The new nails are amazing!
I came here and the service was very unpleasant. I will not be returning here again. The manicurist had an attitude the entire time. My chair was turned on once and when asked, she looked upset. She did not cut my nails as requested. The pedicurist had a better attitude. The atmosphere here was very strange. As a customer walked in, one of them made a comment. They all laughed. Stay away!
Im going to be very honest and let everyone know that I do work for the spa but im not going to lie for no one or try to make the business look good but the truth is that this is one of the best nail salons I have been to. But what makes the difference is the manager Mrs Nancy she really do everything in her power to make her customers feel like family and she makes sure when they leave they had a great experience she is absolutely awesome and again im not saying this because I work there but the fact is that its true. But also Ella she does an amazing job on anyone nails and she do it with such pride and Mrs tina is good at what she do as well regarding doing your pedicure to doing great massages. The fact is they take pride in what they do.
TERRIBLE- AVOID AT ALL COST. Super sloppy manicures with polish dripping on the cuticle. The nail technician (Ella) also managed to cut deep into my nail bed and caused me to bleed. Doesnt even bother to wash my had but put polish over the wound. A blind 5-year old would have done a better job than anyone at this place. Save your money and go somewhere else!!
Flew in town today from GA & broke a nail so I googled shops close to my hotel & this nail salon was about a 30 min walk from The Westin Downton Houston so I headed there & was greeted as soon as I walked in & placed in a chair soon after. Ended up getting a fresh set of nails and pedicure. Lorena did my pedi & it was one of the best pedicures I’ve ever had. The owner of the salon did my nails & while she was a little distracted trying to do my nails & run the shop simultaneously, she still did a great job as well & was friendly. If I’m ever back in Houston, I’ll return to this nail salon.
I was on Houston for work and it was great to see I could book my appointment online. Claudia was amazing, really professional and friendly and I left feeling very relaxed and happy with how the entire service was. She also did her best to fit me in for a last minute treatment I wanted to do, all the staff were really helpful. The receptionist was also very friendly and they quickly offered me something to drink whilst I waited.I am deffinitely coming back!!
My first time there. Great service. Love my nails. I will be going back. This is a good old fashioned nail shop. No frills and extras, just good old fashioned service.
I had a terrible experience.1) they do not use clean instruments2) I payed for an extra detail pedicure/ and received basic3) never cleaned underneath my nail4) couldn’t cut ingrown nail5) Massage was an oil rub.Ugh 😩 so displeased!Would never return
Need more staff. To be fair I was a walk but it didn’t look like they nearly had enough ladies compared to other shops so I had to wait a bit which was fine. Lady definitely was rushing and she went so hard I started bleeding on my big toe. Pedicure did come out nice. Eyebrows came out nice as well.
I wanted white tips and was told they wouldnt look good. Nail tech insisted that I get what she suggested.. Also, too expensive for the product outcome. I have painted on tips that are not cute .. I was gonna get lashes but since I was unsatisfied with my nails I changed my mind
Nails were done well and are lasting (dip powder)! The nails are slightly sloppy, but not horrible and not too noticeable. A couple of times, while using the mechanical file on my fingers, he wasn’t quite careful enough and went a little too far making it hurt and even bleed at one point. I really wish that he hadn’t used the mechanic file and would’ve just used a traditional file, as I requested. Anyway, like I said, overall, I like the way my nails look, and I like that they gave me wine to sip on the entire time I was there. Overall, the people there seemed nice and professional.
It was my first time getting my nails done in over 3 years so I wasnt too familiar on how it worked but the employees explained it to me. I came in with a picture of the set I wanted to get done and what I got was way better ! Nancy did such a good job.
Went in for a regular pedicure and pink and white powder manicure. I had a hard time understanding the girl doing my pedicure. When she asked if I wanted extra paraffin on my callus I said she. Well she did an entire upgrade. The guy doing my nails made my cuticles sore and red. They still hurt a day later. One of my nails had a small bump I noticed the next day. I had to file it off which ruined the polish. Price was outrageous at $94.I strongly recommend going somewhere else!
I had a special request and they were very accommodating which i appreciate greatly! My nails came out perfect and my boyfriends pedicure was the best he’s ever had! Thank y’all so much for the great service
I had acrylics that I had gotten done elsewhere about 2 weeks ago. They were ready to be taken off. I ate at Gotham pizza and stopped since they were next door. They removed the polish, refilled my nails, and reshaped them. I asked for an American tip and they did an awesome job! Will be going back!
I went here because it was very close to my house. The woman who worked on my feet was definitely going through the motions. So much so that she scrapped my actual skin with the Callus scrubber. I didn’t notice until she place the gel bag on my feet and it burned. Even on the buffer part, she dropped it so much because she was flying through the job. When I was done she simply went to get me a band aid and that’s it.
Very nice, Midtown Nails and Spa has the best service Ive ever been to. I often come here to do my nails and enjoy the feeling of relaxation. Will introduce.
Great service for a quick manicure/pedicure. Ive come here with homegirls and waited while theyve gotten service and even slid through for a quick pedicure myself. The service is great and the work efficient and speedy. Dont be cutting the sheets with messed up feets!
Ive been a regular customer for over 5 years and have always received top-notch service. It started on the first day I walked in getting a pedicure. Ive had facial services, haircuts, highlights, solar nails, pedicures and everything in between and the staff is always very professional and courteous. I dont live in downtown anymore but still come regularly for my hair appointments and I would never consider changing! Thanks MTR for always providing great customer service!
I don’t typically get my nails done, due to my profession, but a few times a year I’ll treat myself. The service was nice but the end product was not. I chose a more neutral tone and the paint job was so thin and poor, I could spot my actual nails through the polish especially on the sides. I felt rushed as the ladies hovered over me waiting for my nails to dry, telling me they were dry when I felt differently. Sure enough I left and immediately came back in when some polish smudged off from the freaking receipt. Then after driving home, approximately 15mins away, my big toenail polish smudged from a single blade of grass... just infuriating. I had chosen an OPI polish but have never experienced this kind of trouble before. Would not recommend.
I love Sue, she always does a great job on my nails and is super helpful. Min does my pedis and she is awesome as well. They are the perfect duo. They are thorough and provide a good quality service.
Really love my new nails after working here. Ive been a regular customer here for the past 1 year, theyve always been great. Always serve the way they want.
I wish I would have taken a picture but I got my nails and toes done. They were suppose to be gel, they wasn’t. The girl cut me twice doing my toes and don’t let me get started on my nails. They was way shorter than I wanted and one had a bubble in it. I would never go back 0 out of 10 at least for that lady.
I would not recommend this places to a dog or cat. This was by far the WORSTT manicure I ever had. The service was extremely rushed and there was no care in the work given. The feet still feel dry below them and the manager seemed to not really care. This place needs to be shut down. If I could give them a -0 I would.
The customer service is great the staff is great but I have a problem with the nail part. I got my nails done that Monday by Tuesday evening my shellac was peeling. I went back the next day they took care of it. But at the end of Wednesday my next nail started to peel. So I went back the next day to get the next nail fixed once AGAIN. The Chris brown Concert was that Sunday and I’m On my way to the concert then bam another nail was peeling. I said to hell with that by this time. I will never go back to them again.
THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!! I came in with a difficult nail design and they followed the picture spot on! I was soooo impressed with their skills and how nice their employees are. Very well priced and I will definitely be coming back !! I wish i knew how to upload a picture of my nails!!
I went to this place because I was getting an oil change in my car and had to wait 3 hours, so decided to get a nail refill. I was told It was going to be $45 when I we to pay she ran my card and gave me a receipt for $50. I said Im sorry you told me it was $45, she said I took off $5 which she had already included at first. Its only $5 but its the principle, dont lie to me. She never offered me water until her coworker next to us was offered one. Too expensive for what I recieved.
Wonderful staff. I had a last minute emergency mani pedi request. I was gladly served with in 5 minutes. Courteous, friendly and fast. All things I value greatly. Not to mention I feel I finally have fresh and clean nails now I will definitely come back.
The lady was too rough with my nails. They charged me an extra $20 for a refill because I decided to do a different color... The place is nice for a pedicure but I will never get my nails done here again.
Don’t go here, they literally try to get over on people, I’ve been here quite a few times and they tried to completely overcharge me yesterday. They gave me an insane price to pay and then when I asked them what it was for they couldn’t even properly explain it to me. Whoever the main lady is that works there she has an attitude problem. I definitely will never go there again.
I have been getting the Signature Pedicure here for about 1 year. We sat in a comfortable massage chair that has a remote control. You can drink wine while getting pampered. We got a nice scrub down and hot stone massage of our feet and legs. I live in midtown so this is a great location. Parking is relatively easy.
This was my first time going to Midtown Nails and Spa and I really enjoyed it! They’re really clean and did a great did a great job with my pedicure. Definitely will be going back!
I have only had Pedicure with them. Never visited for any other service so my ratings are purely based on my three visits for Signature Pedicure. First time was a walk-in on weekend during non peak hours so they accepted me. Tiffany was really good in doing the job.Second time me and my husband together had an appointment...That was a disastrous visit for me... Tiffany was assigned to my husband and she immediately got to work whereas I was made to wait 45mins because some other lady (a walk-in) wanted to get her nails done who was waiting for 5mins before me. Dont they know that if they are short staffed and they have an appointment, they should wait FOR THEM to be there and not MAKE THEM WAIT!!! Infact that ladys work was started after my arrival and reporting at the reception desk. By the time my turn came, my husbands service was almost finished. Then on top of that the whole process that usually takes minimum 45mins was finished for me in 30mins in a very shabby n bad way. No proper cuticle and calluses cleaning was done. When I raised the complaint about it the reason given was that they have another appointment coming and they have to be on time for that so quick service to me...Absolute B.S.!!! Where was this attitude when I was waiting??? Their receptionist was highly unprofessional n rude. Offered us $5 discount for my services...seriously!!!! Thats the best you can come up with for $45 service??? We are not beggars lady. So we told her no thanks. Then she said since we have generated the bill with $5 less it has to be that way to which we told her to correct and then we paid her the full amount. Who the hell is she to decide like that...shouldnt she first present her offer n then after discussing with us act on it? REALLY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!After that I never visited them for a while but due to some reason I ended up there again. Luckily third time was a charm! I had booked online appointment with Tiffany on a Monday afternoon so I knew what was I getting into. As expected she was absolutely great at her job. She even remembered the last mishap I had encountered with them.So all in all 5 STARS ONLY FOR TIFFANY but for the salon just 3 stars because of the behaviour of the face of the business ( the receptionist).
I have been a customer here for 2 1/2 years - pink and whites every 3 weeks or so; pedis every couple of months. The employees are charming and do a good job. The owners have never acknowledged they even know my name, yet they know who I am becauseif one of them is at the front desk, s/he will say, have a seat, Kim will be right with you. Today, I arrived for a 5 p.m. pedicure appointment and after 25 minutes of my feet soaking, the water growing cold, I went to the front desk and complained. The receptionist assured me shes almost through with her customer. I pointed out that I had an appointment and that I was a good customer who should not be treated that way. One of the two owners (they are a couple) who was doing someones hair, turned and looked at me and went back to his work without saying a word. I wont return. All customers should be appreciated; good customers should be acknowledged. Apparently, though Midtown Retreat is booming and doesnt have to worry about losing customers.
To be fair, I called last minute on a Wednesday and they fit me in for a massage and pedicure.I have mixed reviews. Basically the massage was terrible and the pedicure was pretty good.I booked a 1 hour deep tissue massage. I have to question whether my masseuse is even certified in massage therapy. Im not really sure how to describe the massage. I am quite experienced with receiving deep tissue massage, and this woman clearly had no idea what she was doing. First of all, she primarily used her thumbs and palms to apply pressure. Honestly, if she keeps trying to massage like that, she is going to hurt herself. Any massage therapist knows to use their body weight, forearms, and elbows to leverage pressure safely. She did none of this. She used hot stone for some reason (and not well), did nothing for my neck, hips, or buttocks. She mostly tried to use pressure point therapy and effleurage. She spent quite a bit of time massaging my temples. All in all it was an odd experience.Fortunately the pedicure was MUCH better. I got the signature pedi, and the nail tech did a great job. It included leg and foot massage, paraffin treatment, and the usual pedicure services. If I come back it will be to have my nails done.I cant speak for the hair, facial, and waxing services, but do not come for a massage! The lady at the front desk did take $20 off the massage when I told her it wasnt deep tissue. Still payed like $80 for the most bizarre massage ever. At least she tried.
I needed to blow a few hours in the area. The 2 hour massage was good, nice and relaxing.
100% satisfied with the outcome of my hair. The stylist (cant remember her name) did an amazing job with my microlink hair extensions. I would definitely recommend this salon to anyone looking for a professional service to transforms their hairstyle. Staff extremely friendly and atmosphere clean and relaxing.
I was very excited to visit initially. After a 45 minute drive, I walked in to no welcome but instead several employees gathered around. I gave my name and was led back for a mani/pedi. The girl who came was friendly when spoken to but did not go out of her way to make me feel welcome or pampered. Water was offered, and nothing more. Throughout the entire mani/pedi the staff spoke loudly and only engaged in one another. A color I chose apparently was matte (something I didnt see on the bottle..) when toes were done I mentioned that it didnt brighten up as I would like. Annoyed, the girl threw a clear coat on and same outcome. Instead of offering a redo (in which I woudlve declined.. But an offer would be nice) she rushed me over to the dry. My mani/pedi was rushed through and I was sat down and completely forgotten about. Eventually the receptionist brought the massage paperwork over to me and I asked if my nails were dry enough, I was told no. So.. I continued to dry until another employee looked up from her cell phone to bark orders that I need to do the form then and just be careful. Finally, after what seemed like forever I was brought back to enjoy a wonderful massage by Rosa. She was incredible and truly understands customer service. My biggest complaint was the lack luster of the spa day. Im a new mom who hasnt had a chance to pamper herself and really looked forward to this. I took The day off, drove 45 minutes to this great spa all to be treated like I was in the way. I felt the staff rushed through so they could get back to discussing their appetizers for their Christmas party and focus on the latest news on their cellphone. There was one other customer so service should not have been an issue. Once finished, I simply walked out without one staff even bothering to say thanks. When I called today to speak with the manager I was met with nothing more than excuses and attitude. She was present during my visit, so no reason why cellphones shouldve been out, drinks not offered, attitudes given when asked about dry time or being forgotten at the table. She was condescending when explaining my poor service and very unapologetic.Well T, heres the review I promised. Your k. Ill talk to them doesnt go far.You gained me as a customer based off online reviews, you can also lose customers based off online reviews. You might try humbling yourself in the future and remember, customers pay your bills. Your business is based off good service, I would recommend investing in it.. Starting with your attitude.
Giving them a 3 because when Im desperate they will get the job done. Most of them seem more concerned with getting my money than providing a pleasant experience.
I treated myself to a facial and massage here before my wedding. Claudia and Matelly were both incredible. The place was small but clean and the whole staff was super friendly! I havent felt this relaxed before - ever!
You should come here and get a massage with Anna she’s by far the best masseuse I’ve ever had!! Or your nails with Jessica. She’s great and efficient! They’re the best who work there.
I went here and the nail technician overcharged me and then went ahead and did my nails all the wrong all whilst telling me it would result into what I want. When I complained that I didnt like it because the color was not ombre but instead was two colors next to each other, she filed my nail harshly until I bled on my thumb and was rude about resolving the issue! complete mess for people who want to do acrylics!
Came to visit mom and had the best girls day here. The atmosphere is so zen and the people were great. We definitely needed a day together like that, thanks for making it so relaxing. Now every time I come visit well be here for a day of pampering. :)
I gave midtown nails a chance because theyre conveniently located, and Im new to town. I have been getting dip powder/SNS on my nails consistently for the past year - so I know what a good manicure should be. As previous comments had mentioned, the polish came out lumpy. This is not due to the dip powder; the final product should be smooth and glossy. Then, within a week, my pinky nail polish completely came off in one chunk. This is not normal. I went back in to get a touch up. Touch up was fine, but make sure you call ahead if you dont want to wait. Then a couple days after the touch up, less than a week and a half, another nail came off. At this point, it was clear this wasnt a quality manicure and the dip powder had not been properly applied. Dip manicures should easily last 3+ weeks! I always have to get them re-done because my nails have grown out too long, not because they have chipped or fallen off.The shoulder massage was nice (and an additional charge), and they do offer drinks. I would think a regular mani/pedi would be fine here, but if youre looking for quality, long lasting nails services, this isnt the place.
My positive for this place is it was convenient to where I work and is quick. On the other hand, I found the front receptionist slightly incompetent, and one of the nail techs slightly rude. They also used an absurd amount of massage oil for the signature mani and pedi, which they got on my clothes. Despite being convenient for me today, I wouldnt go back, and I would go out of my way to feel better pampered.
I always come here for all of my spa services. Usually I would come in for a Mani/pedi, and maybe a massage. They always do an amazing job, great conversations, great service done. However, I scheduled an online appointment to get my hair done for my husbands birthday and get a Mani/pedi done. My appointment got approved and I came in for my appointment just to find out that noone will be able to do my hair. The woman who I was scheduled with doesnt work on Mondays and the manager is on vacation. There is no assistant manager here to handle anything.I ask for a discount, a voucher to come back and get my hair done, something to compensate for the inconvenience and noone on staff was able to make a decision. They tried to call the manager and the manager refuses to answer the phone. If you book with them online just be aware that they might screw you over in the end and you wont get the services that you asked for done.
They have new technology for my manicure. And I didnt have to wait too long. the manicurist did a great job and buffed the previous coat beautifully.
Rude service had to go back twice to get my nails refined they broke off and cracked just left and the nail tech packed acrylic on my nail no file buff or anything then put the shellac on I just kept quiet Bc I will never return. on my first visit here one customer literally took the manicure papers off her hands got up and walked out that should have been a warning sign.
I visited Midtown Retreat on a Saturday with two of my friends. We made appointments for a mani/pedi. I was the last one to have my services started and the first one finished. The woman who was giving me my pedicure didnt even bother to completely remove the nail polish from my toe before applying the new polish. I guess she thought I was too stupid to notice the extra coat of polish she put in that one spot to try to cover the old polish. In addition to not removing all of my old polish she got up and left (without saying anything so she could go style someones hair) before she applied the top coat. The lady that was doing my manicure was doing an...okay job until her next and apparently regular client walked in. Then she was in a hurry to get me out of her chair. Her rushed job resulted in an uneven finish and attitude when I asked her to fix the job and add the top coat to my toes. The photos lead you to believe that there is plenty or space, but the entire area is tiny. We were rushed to pick our colors and received attitude when we took too long deciding on a color. My friends and I will not ever visit this place again and I certainly will not recommend it to anyone.
Everyone was supper nice ! She also was very receptive to my nit picking lol I’m a little OCD so I notice everything . She would fix or modify anything I asked and was over all just so friendly. I would def go back! Also they do massages and it was amazing !
I got the deluxe mani and pedi and the service was just ok. The technician who did my toes hurt me the whole entire time she was cutting my skin off. I get pedicures every week to two weeks mainly in the heights area and Ive never been hurt this way. It was not relaxing. I felt rushed through like they didnt care that I was there. The actual massage part on my feet and arms felt like the lightest Swedish massage, which felt like nothing. I probably will not go back. I still tipped well but I probably shouldnt have bc they gave me service that was minimal.
Friendly staff and clean. My nail tech informed me if anything happened to my nails she would repair it. I didnt think much of it bc I never break a nail. Within 4 days 3 nails were lifting and 1 chipped. They repaired them but they rushed them and put more shellac over it making them thick. Would not return
Since Google doesnt have an option to respond to a FAKE review from Mia Anette. Here is our professional response and opinion:Dearest Mia,We are sorry that you are highly mistaken! We actually offer a variety of smoothing / relaxing treatments in the salon such as Brazilian Blow Out , RETEX Japanese Straitening, Keratin Complex Smoothing Treatment, ect... Unfortunately we must not have carried the one that you asked for so you now consider us racist... VERY SAD that you had to pull that card!About us supposedly paying our staff to get license; You are also VERY wrong. We hire women from all over the country. They must provide all license and paper work in order to get employed with our salon. We do have the Midtown Retreat way of doing nails, hair and skin care and all of our staff is trained on our way to do things. The owner here has had nothing but great reviews since opening her salon in 2007, servicing hundreds of clients each month. She is customer service driven and expects nothing but the best for her clientele. We here cant help but think that this bogus review is from a disgruntled ex-employee who was terminated for stealing and fired for extremely horrible customer service that we are actually still hearing about to this day!
SO UNPROFESSIONAL. Walk ins treated better than appointments. Very messy job. Bad service by all of the staff. Waste of time and money. I had to wait 2+ hours to get serviced after my appointment. All around terrible experience. Now I get why all the good reviews are from months ago.
Highly upset, just spent $75.00 on a pedi and shellac mani around 2pm and here it is not even 4 hours later on the same day and my shellac polish is already chipping. I live in Humble area and was stuck in downtown waiting so decided to stop in for my pedi and on whim decided on a mani, completely regret. If it were my normal place close to home I could go back and ask them to fix it but this place is a good drive from me.
I had a pedicure and a manicure. Both were great. The girl at the front was not the nicest. She could smile every once in a while.
Great place, the ladies are fast and professional. I usually have May doing my nails and always love it!
I’m from out the city and it was close to the hotel I was staying at! The were nice when we walked in but they really don’t know what they’re doing! 2 people worked on me to try to fix it but still failed! And they still charged me double! I had to go to a different nail salon right after to get it fixed. It was so bad the lady who worked on me at the other shop was very much in shock! I wouldn’t even recommend this place to my worst enemy.
Being the wonderful and awesome fiancee that I am, I set up a birthday spa day for my fiancee and some of close girlfriends. Since I am a guy and I know pretty much nothing about quality day spas in Houston I did a lot of research to find the best day spa in Houston. And what I found was that Midtown Retreat pretty much had everything that I was looking for and at a price that was completely reasonable. I wanted a place that offered all typical spa services, could accommodate up to 6 women at the same time, and with a comfortable atmosphere.
Sue was amazing! She made the experience fun and quick, but she did a wonderful job on my french tipped pedicure 🙂 would definitely see her again!
The place is too expensive for manicure and the person didn’t even do it properly. I had to pay 40$ for just manicure
Diane did an amazing job on my manicure. Best hand massage I’ve had. She was very meticulous with attention to detail. Highly recommend.
This place left my hand scared when the nail tech buffed the back of my hand because she got polish all over me. Do not recommend. Plus my nails were chipped and bumpy
The experience was rejuvenating. Ive never had a pedicure before because Im a bit of a chauvinist. But wow, it was great and my feet feel wonderful.
Such a wonderful first mani/pedi experience post Covid. Felt very relaxed and safe. They did an excellent job! So many pedi options - do the jelly one! You won’t be disappointed!
Midtown Spa salon is always very clean, accommodating and customer service is excellent. I get a lot of compliments when I get my nails done here
Clean but stingy!!! I hate nail shops that are too stingy with products. She never used any soap, cuticle lotion nothing just plain water and polish for a pedicure. Never again if you charge $35 for a pedi please use exfoliant salts abs oils this is supposed to be a spa. Sloppy manicure cuz the polish was sticky. Terrible job on shellac nail
I feel great with my nails after every previous visit, and I love the welcoming environment there. Love Midtown Nails and Spa salon
Nancy was fantastic! She did exactly what I wanted to do and tried to save me money in the process. The end result was beautiful. I will definitely be back and ask for her.
Tina was very sweet and took very good care of me! Place is also the best for Brazilian wax’s, very comfy atmosphere with music and art on the ceiling.
I cant believe this is the nail I did two weeks ago, it looks like it was done yesterday with no paint off and Im back today for a new manicure for tonights party. Because I really trust your skills!!!
NEVER WILL GO THERE AGAIN!!! They tried to double charge my niece because the wanted long acrylic nails and did not want to cut the tip. I sat at the pedicure chair like they asked me to for 20 minutes and no one started my pedicure. Horrible customer service.
Highly recommended. The facilities are very clean and the nail salon has a relaxing atmosphere and they put the customers interests first.
Exactly what I was looking for. Clean, efficient, and polite service. No frills, but I wasn’t looking for a bougie salon there are plenty of those around. I just wanted a nice neighborhood salon and that’s exactly what it was.
I’m here visiting from Dallas and found Midtown on Google. My experience was perfect and nail tech Ella was excellent. She did an awesome job.
I came in for a shellac manicure, and it was terrible. The lady who did it made bleed. Due to the cuts, my fingers were burning the whole time, which wasnt pleasant. The painting was rushed, and She didnt paint the whole nail. When I asked her to fix it, she blankly stared and didnt correct her mistake. One of the worst manicures Ive had.
Relax and feel like home. I love getting my nails done here. Never had any bad experience before
The nail tech was more concerned with getting the polish off her skin from a previous client than starting on my nails. It took her at least another 15 minutes to gather all her equipment. On top of all that she charged me $45 for a refill and shellac polish. RIP OFF
The atmosphere is so relaxing and I had my nails done today and I must say I love acrylic nails. love West Gray Nails & Spa
Went with my wife, son, and some friends. Had a ton of fun and my feet feel so much better! They also kept my son entertained the whole time. It was awesome!
Worse place to get a massage or facial... they clearly have no idea what they’re doing. My back has been killing me ever since I went there. Also had a 30 min facial and the girl spent 20 minutes looking for the stuff.. really!? Never again.
Great Atmosphere, Henry, did a Marble Black & White Coffin design. Shapes beautifully. Thank you!! But nobody greeted me goodbye though. Lol I was sad
I love this place! I always get my manicure and pedicure done here and they always look amazing!!Also the eyelashes service is exceptional!
I am always very satisfied with my new nails before I leave the salon. vote 5 stars
This establishment is wonderful each and every time I come. Every time my mother visits ... she demands i bring her as well. I love these ladies 🤍
Amazing, Im so confident about my new nails, my friends all ask where I do it and Im confident recommending Midtown Nails and Spa!
Love this place! I get Shellac on my nails and they never chip! Clean and friendly, I have never been disappointed. They even do hair too!! A++++
Thanks to Midtown Nails and Spa salon my nails look amazing. Reasonable price and perfect service
Great! My nails always look amazing, I always get compliments on their great work 😊.
Omg I totally love this place and the Service they give is top tier 👏 😍 🙌
Initially I was upset with the service I was recieving but they did what they could to make sure I left happy. I truly appreciate that. Nancy has great customer service.
So upset. They lied and baited me over the phone. Stating they did gelx nails and they do not. So don’t be fooled!
Went in for polish changeTwice my nails messed upThey don’t have any kind of dryerAnd don’t take precautions for you nails not to mess up .. very dissapojnted
Great nail salon and the ladies are all very nice. I would drive past the 3 or 4 salons close to home to use them again.
They do great work!!! I also had an amazing massage. Been coming here for years. They are the best!
Mani Pedi w/ friend and really liked the place. Service was good, clean, provided a complimentary glass of wine... plan to visit again soon!
Ima give the 4 stars only because They are aggressive when they want you to spend more money. My pedicure was amazing tho
Really great results and fast service…almostOk fast to relax but as someone fitting things into my workday, it works for me!
Needed a place for a quick pedi while in the city. The nail tech barely said 2 words to me, but gave a decent pedicure.
I gave them the new design and they made it better, I like their tailored advice.
Me and my husband went here for a couples massage and it was very calm and peaceful. We loved it
Manicurist cut me once while doing my cuticles and then twice filing my nails at the end— filed my skin and sliced it open on two fingers. Will not be going back.
All the cosmologists are very nice, but the one woman who was doing my manicure was on her phone the whole time and wasnt focused.
Waited over 2 hours for an appointment i had. Walk-Ins were serviced before me and never got nails done.
Such lovely people and do great pedicure every time I come here.
Came in from a long day of traveling for the holidays very anxious but they gave excellent service that removed all of that.
Love this place. My nails always look brilliant and they are so friendly..
They do great work and the atmosphere is relaxing like home. vote 5 stars for service
Walked in and walked out as someone was coming in upset about her nails that was done that morning asking fir a refund. Always trust your gut.
This place is ridiculous they charge me $15 to get my nails taken off. I would’ve gotten them re-done but I was in a rush. The service here is terrible.
Lovely staff there and always end up with beautiful nails and doing a great job.
Me and my 2 daughters got a pedi and we were all very satisfied.
Im a regular and regular customer here and I have no complaints and always feel great
I come here every month. Im always welcome for booking in advance. Thanks a lot
Today I went to salon Midtown Nails and Spa for the first time and it was a great experience.
Always on time. Dip never chips and looks nice and smooth not thick very natural
Ms. Nancy is the best nail tech I’ve ever had the quality of her work is unmatched in the city
Great customer service, nice salon, clean and inviting. Reasonable, I plan on going back soon.

Their service is impeccable. I love everything from the service to the staff. Will definitely recommend.
There are several places close to me - but I drive here b/c they are FAST and quite frankly the best.
Very nice nail shop first time ever going there I spent around Im going to say 75 to $85
Excellent professional performance!Sanitized , mask and wonderful on time service. My new go to
Clean and efficient! Came in before my shift at work, and got everything I needed. Will definitely be coming back here!
Horrible, the worst!Very unprofessional!the messiest manicur I have ever gotten. Waste of time and money!I went there once and will NEVER go again!
Every time Im in Houston, this is the place I go to, to get my mani and pedi. Love the ppl and the service.
