Only danced - didn’t eat or drink.Friday night is ladies night- we get in free.This place has completely changed since after Covid. Dress code is way more relaxed, and music is a greater mix of pop and country – both old-school country and new country.A ton of line dancing to all songs. Great for singles who go by themselves.A ton of fun.It gets packed after midnight.Valet parking $10.

Tacos were so flavorful! Drink specials with excellent mixture of music! My friend enjoyed riding the mechanical bull. I enjoyed the couples dancing their love radiated. I will be back!

Table service with buckets and bottles! Great deals. Reserve your stuff ahead of time online. Just be sure to bring an actual photo ID as they will NOT accept photos of your ID on your phone. Makes sense anyhow but just giving yall a heads up. Otherwise this is an awesome club to go check out.

Poor DRESS CODE policy: Drove 40 minutes to this club for a birthday celebration that has been planned for a month. Rude managers and employees restricting my friend’s clothe wear and allowing other people following the same pattern as us inside. I tried explaining the brand-wear is a casual type still formal type of wear. Employees said the problem was the string on the shorts so we took it out and covered them, employees persisted on strict rule that was not stated on the website nor the front door. I do not recommend this place to anyone who wishes to have fun and be around understanding people. Very unsatisfied customer service with employees being rude. Go to Katy location instead if you wish to have a good time.

I would give it 0 stars if I could. We drove 40 min to come to this location. We were not let in due to on of my friends wearing green shorts without belt loops. We asked them to show us the dress code on the website and they couldn’t show us because they had not put in on the website yet. I was really upset that they wouldn’t understand us. They told us to go to target to buy new clothes but that’s such an inconvenience for the public customers visiting for the first time. They had initially told us that he couldn’t go in because of the draw strings. My other two friends had shorts with drawstrings but that were let in just because the material was different. That made no sense to us we were trying to understand their reasoning but not even they could explain it. Very rudely they were just asking us to either buy new clothes or leave. Never coming back here again.

UNREASONABLE DRESS CODE POLICY: This establishment enforces an unreasonable dress code. We were denied entry because, according to the staff, I was wearing basketball shorts. However, my shorts were from a well-known streetwear brand and were socially appropriate. The staff claimed the issue was the drawstrings on my shorts, insisting I go to Target to buy proper wear and threatening to kick us out within 15 minutes if we didn’t comply.The manager and three other staff members were incredibly rude and dismissive, refusing to point out where the dress code was mentioned on their website. When I asked them to show me, they told me to find it myself, but I found nothing. Even after removing the drawstrings, they denied me entry, claiming my shorts now needed belt loops, while others in the club were allowed in wearing shorts.We drove 40 minutes to this place, expecting to have a good time, but we left feeling upset, disappointed, and disrespected. The staffs handling of the situation was full of lies and a lack of understanding.

I don’t usually give a five star review of the very first time I go somewhere, but this place deserves it.They’re DJ played country, music, and actual country music. Hip-hop was very minimal. Good crowd. Staff was friendly. Very great. Outdoor patio area with a second dance area.Drinks were fairly priced.I will now consider this my top five dance halls in Texas.Good work management and staff.

Guess who was open after the storm providing AC and a place to get away? Even though this location is further from me than WR West, it is still worth the drive. Bartenders are great, security is ridiculously respectful and love the dance classes. Dont forget to tip!

My first time to go to Whisky River! I had a blast! Loved the music inside and outside! Will definitely be back!

Went with friends and co-workers they enjoyed themselves and the environment but our waitress didn’t do so good very long periods coming back to table. I ended up going ask a bouncer for my waitress on 2 of the occasions. For the rest of the night we just decided it was easier to go up to the bar and order drinks that way but I had to keep going back because the bartender said it was a 2 drink limit each time and we had at least 7 or 8 of us showed up. Other than that everything else was good

The vibe is good at this place.. Everyone has a sync in dance for some songs, and There are couple does salsa on the dance floor which is a treat to watch.. Good place for parties 🎊, outdoor seating is too good and has heaters. Enjoyed being at this place. The bull ride is a must try.

I used to go here more before I was married. It had been 8 years and I decided to go with my husband for my birthday. I was dancing on the inside dance floor when one of the staff got real aggro with me out of nowhere 😵‍💫 My husband was holding my drink off the dance floor and Id stop to sip instead of going all the way off. Im guessing THATS what he had a problem with but I dont know. All he kept saying was I see you I see what youre doing You know what youre doing Im going to kick you out. Me, genuinely confused, asked him what the problem was but he seemed to think I was being facetious or something. If Im breaking a rule, at least tell me what it is so I can stop. Im not a bar bunny 😂 Youd swear I was doing drugs or something. Anyway, it was just too weird. We decided to leave early.

A lot of fun. Love Thursdays and Sundays for the Tejano music. But, the other days are fun as well. When the Tacos are being made, the food is great.

I was invited here last night by my brother to have a drink. When I walked in I was greeted by a nice young lady and wonderful people dancing to great music, But as soon as my brother and I walked to the first bar to the far right the atmosphere changed as the bartender with the Cowboy hat was extremely rude with his hands folded with a stone face charged me $10 dollars for what was supposed to be a $2 dollar crown Royal night until 10pm. The way My brother and I was treated by the bartender was disrespectful, unacceptable, rude, and make this place feel like a racist establishment.

The only reason I’m giving 4 stars because the bartender give us unwanted drinks from another person! I caught and she lied to me saying it was freshly made! We paid $17 for those drinks. Other than that we had fun the music was so good.

This club does not serve. they did not let us in because we erred Many. we had booked a Table Y and Qun So they did not let us in. very bad service. I will never return again

I had my birthday celebration here and the staff went all lout to make sure I felt special. One of the managers treated me like family and she even gifted us some free beers. The bottle service was so much fun and I was not expecting it, our waitress was very funny and kept refilling our mixers and ice even when we didn’t ask. All-in-all the service was above what I was expecting, so casual and warm!The environment was the best place to take my out of state friends to get a good slice of Texas in one night. The usuals are friendly and will teach you how to dance, my friends loved it. It’s also very big inside and if you want to go outdoors the patio also has a dance floor and it very fun. They play different songs so it’s perfect for your friends that want a small change. I usually spend my time by the fire pit in between songs.The bartenders were all so much fun and had so many creative suggestions for me and my group. My favorite was a custom whiskey based birthday shot.If you’re looking for a fun place to go on the weekend, I 100% recommend whiskey. The tacos are good after a night of partying and the staff is incredibly fun. I will be looking towards going this weekend and celebrating future birthdays here.

Awesome fun country dancing. Best DJs bartenders are awesome great fast, door girl is the sweetest, we always have a great time been going 11 years now, met my husband there. The valet head guy on Thursday and Saturday is awesome as well.

I didnt try any food. Vibe was excellent, everyone was friendly and outgoing. Definitely will return. Enjoyed both the indoor area and patio.

The moment we checked in everything went smooth. We had our own escort bringing us to our table. Our server was very sweet in making sure if we needed anything we can go to her. My group had a great time it was such a memorable night we can’t wait to come back!

This is what city slickers would think a honkytonk is. nobody is talking. nobody is laughing. everyone runs off the dancefloor as soon as the song ends like they couldn’t wait to get away. normally i would love a mix of hip hop and country but 9/10 songs were b-side flops.we also got weird unnecessary scoldings from two different staff members, once for setting our drinks down on an unused reserved table before the people had arrived, and for having our drinks on the dancefloor. Had we known it was forbidden we would have been happy to oblige, and it was completely unnecessary and unacceptable behavior from the npc jealous woman to literally shoo us off the dancefloor. i’m wondering if it’s something about how my friend looks.this is a great place to go if you’re a fake cowboy and want to be policed by the staff. i regret patronizing this place.edit: i just want to add that the decor and ambiance of this place is really cute. as soon as i walked in i got excited to be at a honkytonk. so it really is a shame that the atmosphere was so strict and uncomfortable. do lmk once you figure out how to train your staff, play the bops, and find real cowboys to come and play. 🤠

Medically speaking, Im literally going deaf, and even I thought the DJ was playing the music too loud the last time I went to this place. I normally wear hearing aids... Not only did I take them out, but I had to put in ear plugs and I still left early because it was too loud. Youre literally loosing customers because of how loud it is.And no, Im not a grumpy old curmudgeon who hates everything. Im in my 30s and most of the reviews I leave are really positive.

My friends and I went there last Thursday and we had an amazing time! The drinks and music were great. And I wanna thank the person in charge of the valet parking who took good care of our cars and made us not worried about them while we had fun. Def we gonna come back again.

I visited for the first time not too long ago after hearing about it for some time. Honestly, I was blown out of the water! Our bartender, Myka helped our entire party with super quick drink times and such great great service!! Will be returning soon now.

This place was so much fun ! I first started ordering drinks with the bartender Aurora and she had an amazing attitude and was super fast and was really good at remembering my rounds . She said she had to go and I went to the other bartender Mika or whatever her name is and she was an absolute nightmare . Not only was she rude with me but I noticed that she was just rude to everyone around her . If you don’t want to be a bartender then try another field !

Price increased on table and bottle and Im ok with that. Server never came back I had to get my own shots every time. For 8 people to be exact but I was only allowed to take 2 at a time.. after doing this multiple times yea it sucked.. not including the times I had to go get buckets..of beer and mixed drinks... I refused to let service ruined my wifes birthday.. I did all the work.. next time Ill just ask for a clock in time card...

Excellent service, consistently for several years now. Whether I’m booking a table with Joey, always interacting with staff, or enjoying the music it’s always a pleasant experience. The vibe at Whiskey River is amazing too. Everyone is having a great time and friendly.

WR North is my go to place!! Great atmosphere and staff!!Naomi the manager/ bartender is the best, always willing to make your experience there memorable and fun!!Alec the GM always making sure everything is running smoothly and safe. From the door guys to the bouncers, all make you feel like family from the minute you walk in!! I highly recommend from Thursday to Sunday if you are looking for a great time this is your place!!

Man after a hard week working 52 hours a week. This a safe and great place to unwind and cut some carpet up. We have been coming to this place for the last 10 years and we have never had any problems. They also love there first responders and military personnel.

Ok so the thing about whiskey is yes its always a good time BUT my advise is get there in the time frame of when they open - 10pm or youll be stuck in a long line. second once it gets packed youre going to spend FOREVER in line trying to get drinks. so drink up all you can before the crowd comes. i only come here every once in a blue moon but youll have a blast! if you dont like heavy crowds this isnt the place for you.

Tonight was my first time at whiskey, and I loved it! I had Myka as my bartender and she was so sweet and helpful with getting us our drinks! She was fast and treated us like friends. I had an amazing night. I’m definitely coming back and I’m hoping to have her as our bartender again!

I loved this place! We went for the first time and the drinks were nice and strong. A bit pricey BUT YUMMY!the only thing that had me stop in the middle of my drunken stupor was the outside bathrooms. They were clean to an extent BUT- the tp pictured below stopped me in my tracks.Not sure if they knew (doubtful) but looked like the users were cleaning their needles in the tp roll, enough for me to snap a pic. Def would go back but will bring my own tissue going forward

It had been a while since I had made it out to whiskey and after last night having a server like Kayley I hope it’s not long til I can make it back again! She was phenomenal! Fast with bring us what we wanted and continuously kept checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed! If you’re going to whiskey river do yourself a favor and make sure to request her section. I assure you that you will not be disappointed!

I believe my waitress was Shay. She did an excellent job. She was constantly coming around asking if we needed anything, and when I ordered something extra, she brought it right away. Beautiful personality

Don’t come here expecting a country bar despite the name. Came here on New Year’s Eve and left well before midnight, it was that bad. Music consisted of 95% corridos/regaton. I would’ve went to escapade if that’s what I was looking for. The dj here just sucks. The patio was not different. NOT THE COUNTRY BAR ITS ADVERTISED AS

I love this place! If you looking for good country music and a good time two stepping, come here! Add a couple drinks to the mix and your are golden. For a cherry on top is a must that you look for the best bartender there! Lee! He will put on a show while making your drinks! You cant beat that!

This place is great, even tho a bar is usually full of strangers you can really feel the vibe of family from the staff, and they can get along with anyone, I’m such a shy person but I feel like I can really let go here so, to my introverts, this is the place! It’s amazing, the staff, even down to the security are so friendly! Oh and the tacos is the best thing on the menu idc who says any different lol. 10/10 Whiskey is for everyone!

If youre looking to two-step to actual country music, dont bother coming here. Drinks are too expensive, and half the music isnt even country music. Leave the Latin music for Latin night. Let the rap clubs have their rap. I shouldnt have to go outside in the cold to dance to actual country music. Waste of time and money driving out there.

There’s lots I like about this place BUT this is REALLY weird: The women’s room has a one-way mirror in the door facing the wrong way, so men outside can see right into the restroom without the women inside knowing it; CREEPY!!! The men’s room door has a similar mirror BUT it’s facing the other way, so men can see out but no one outside can see in. Intentional??? (Legal?)

This has quickly become my favorite place to spend my summer nights away. I have severe anxiety and I really appreciate bartender Lee who’s always been patient and understanding when I order my drinks. Makes the place more welcoming. Thank you for all the unforgettable nights!

I visit whiskey river north, specifically to visit my favorite bartender. The blonde cowboy LEE at the inside/outside bar is the nicest ever. Quick drinks delivered with a smile. If you visit this location, only get drinks with him. Also sometimes he is fancy with his pours, so make sure to tip generously. Thanks Lee, you’re the BEST!

Good bar, great music, better service from some of the best bartenders in NW Houston. As Jon Pardi says: “Bartender knows my name, but I dont mind. She kicks em up strong, serves me up right!” Mgrs walking around all night checking on folks and Naomi, Meghan and Myka slinging’ them drinks all night long! You should check it out. Great place to catch up with old friends and meet new ones!

Great service and atmosphere!!!Was looking for a place to host a surprise party with friends for my wife’s birthday. A friend recommended me to Joey at Whiskey River North to help set up and coordinate our party. Joey was great to work with with setting up and arranging everything for me. If you are needing to plan a party or event definitely reach out to Joey.During our time there our server was excellent and made sure my group was taken off.

The staff as always came through for a birthday party with about 50 guests. The manager Alec, Lauren our waitress, Joey H the go to guy for booking, DJ Damien and security did an outstanding job in getting everyone what they needed and playing great music. Whiskey River North, great job and thanks for always taking care of our group. 5 stars as always.

Arrived with about 10 friends. They refused entry to my male friend with a disability because of his shoes. His open toe shoes werent allowed because of his gender despite being medically necessary yes my open toe shoes were acceptable. This is an ADA violation and should not be happening in 2023.

I felt it was important to issue a warning to anyone who ever goes to this place and doesnt make reservations, which you have to pay for. We had a party of 11 last night so we arrived early to find a place to hang out which we did despite almost all of the tables being reserved. My daughter asked management if she could reserve the table we got and they her that wasnt necessary. About an hour into our evening we were told our table was reserved and told us to find another one. The establishment allowed someone else to reserve OUR space AFTER we had it. Needless to say this establishment was wrong as well as rude. They will NEVER get another penny of my money along with all those that were with us and now hopefully some of yall. Rant over

This was my first time at Whiskey River and I had a wonderful time. One thing that gave me pause-and a yuck face..... they reuse the syringe for the shots! The young lady asked for them back after our purchase. I will never do the syringe shots again! The tube shots are safe and I didn’t see them recycled. The music was great, taco trucks nearby if you’re hungry and just overall a friendly atmosphere. I look forward to my next visit.

This use to be an awesome place UNFORTUNATELY, my family and I had a very negative experience tonight. I wanted to give my family an authentic Texas experience coming from The Bahamas. We signed up for the guest list and were still asked to pay the cover charge when the promotion says we were free before 10 which we arrived before. All 10 of us were sitting on the patio enjoying the sights with drinks and enjoying the music. Our group took up 2 tables and one of my family members was approached by an employee and asked to leave because, and I quote, you have to leave because Ive seen you with your head on the table 4 to 5 times. There are no policies visible or that we have seen online that says someone cannot place your head on the table for a few seconds. It was a very embarrassing experience for all of us and very trivial. It was noticeable that we were all together and if there was some sort of policy in place, then all they had to do was explain the policy and ask us to comply. It seems as though maybe they just didnt want us in there. The approach was very unprofessional and we are owed an apology. In addition, another family member asked about moving the jenga game sitting on the table top and was told no because they were dealing with a situation. The situation was telling my family member he had to leave.We just went out to have a good time and they succeeded at ruining it. Do better Whiskey River, you never know who you have in your establishment and the potential publicity that it can generate.

It’s 12:45 am at night, we came from downtown Houston ( Freind’s birthday). The drive is around 40min and we got turned down. The reason being since my boyfriend had lulu lemon joggers with a polo. We got told we can talk to the owner even thought he isn’t there…Why even say such thing in the same sentence If we didn’t ask ? Anyways, the bouncer was rude. The place was ridiculous for having that dress code for an establishment in a houston suburb.

I would actually rate it a 3 and a half, because while the music and dance floor inside are fantastic, they have no pool tables, and the outside music and dance floor leave a bit to be desired.

First time visiting and had a very negative experience. The employees are super rude. Not very good first impression bad vibes here...they discriminated against us because we brought a friend with speacial needs. We wanted to provide her a little normalcy for a fun night out. They embarrassed this poor girl by making her feel less than adequate to be at this establishment. I honestly thought this was a thing of the past but I guess some individuals still have a problem with the special needs community.

We Love coming to this place great music awesome drinks all around great atmosphere, ask for Mr.Lee he’s the best. We love celebrating all of our birthdays here.

I really enjoyed going on Thursday night. It was packed. I just did not understand why they were charging 15.00 to get in. This was the place to dance. Even though it was packed you could still dance. I enjoy dancing. I will be back next Thursday. It had a mix crowd and loved the mix of music. Bartenders were friendly also. My experience was a great one. There was a mixed crowd and plenty of people to dance with.

This place is great for first timers trying to find a safe bar and get out there, they have it all, and the bathroom (woman) is so clean which is a plus, definitely recommend, I don’t even write a lot of reviews but when the experience was an A++ you gotta tell the people hahaha!

Luna had the best customer service compared to anybody I encounter on our girls night out! He was helpful and answered all of our questions upon entering. We were frazzled last minute trying to get a table and he helped us out quickly and made our night go super smooth. We had a blast all thanks to Luna! Give that man a raise!!!!

Been there 4 times over past few months. I dont write reviews, but this place is local and I support them. Great place with a good music mix. Fun and friendly crowd. The bartenders are attentive. Some reviews said the bouncers are strict. My experience is that we can cut loose, drink more than our share, talk with the staff, and since we never give staff a hard time - we always have a good time.

I used to drive 45 miles across Houston to party at this club. It started out great but the clientele changed and it wasnt as much fun. They will let just about anyone in including those that need a babysitter.

Family,friends and I always have a blast. Guys in the front are such sweethearts, music is 10/10, to get good parking you definitely have to arrive early!

Years ago this use to be a great place on a Saturday night. Now its not under the current management. The music is way too loud so that its hard to carry on a conversation within the club. At times the music is even distorted because it is too loud. Ive been coming here over 10 years and it was never this loud before the pandemic. Its got to be louder than OSHA approved sound levels. Likewise, who comes into a bar to watch music videos on the TVs? Years ago in the fall the college football games would be on which attracted more people into the club. I, as well as most of my other C&W dancing friends, have found other more enjoyable places to go dancing now.

This establishment is not for people of color. If you’re not white you’re not right. Bartender kept skipping us but serving everyone that kept popping up after us. My husband says “Fxck this” and walks off bc we were waiting for a hot minute and kept getting overlooked. No yelling. No aggression. No calling the bartender anything. Didn’t even talk to her. HE WALKED AWAY. Nothing that required what happened next. The unprofessional bartender called A GANG of security AND A GANG OF COPS… humiliated me and my husband because she sucks at giving customer service.Management sitting here trying to make excuses for his horrible staff instead of issuing an apology for any of it.It became very obvious that when a black person expresses disappointment to their poorly trained bartenders… mistreatment is justified… got it. Thanks for letting us know.Will never go here ever again. Truly upset with the employees and the management.
