Dope fun bar with hip hop playing all night. They have 2 bars on both floors then the fast casual restaurant at the bottom. Love the graffiti art and Alice in Wonderland vibes. They have arcade games on the second floor. Drinks are reasonably priced and there’s hookah options as well. Men have cover and the kitchen was open past midnight last time I went. Top floor has an outdoor canopy.

Went on a Sunday evening and it was very empty and I enjoyed it. We sat downstairs and ordered food and drinks. The bar tender was very kind and tentative. The food was good as well!

I went on a weekday, if Im not mistaken, so it wasnt at its peak nightclub state. Nonetheless, I had a great time! Had delightful, random, fun conversations with the bartender KJ and then also ended up meeting his girlfriend who was also super sweet and lighthearted. Had some nice food, the drinks were great and the atmosphere of Alice is very cool, but the highlights were definitely in just having a good time and meeting good people :)

Saturday, May 6th @ 10:30pmThe Henny Side car was weak. The hookah was overpriced and WEAKER thank my drink. After 30 minutes, it was time for a refill which was $40.I honestly could have made up a better hookah at home, in my sleep.While I was really excited to support this establishment, I was extremely disappointed.Highlight:The crowd was lit and the DJ was 🔥🔥🔥

Great spot for drinks and late night food. The decide is spot on, such a vibe. Big shout out to Jin for always coming through and supporting our community projects at Legacy DC. Great club, better neighbors 🤝

Boy we had a time last night! Me and my girls came here on a Tuesday night, and had a ball. To be honest though, we had a ball because our party brought the party. The DJ matched our energy, the bartenders were extremely efficient, friendly and bringing out those shots when we needed them! Without us, this spot wouldn’t have been much on a Tuesday but it provided everything we needed.

This place is awesome!!!! Just tried it for lunch for the first time and I had the summer rolls and banh mi. Both were great. The banh no didn’t have pâté on it, so slightly less authentic. And instead of splashing maggi sauce on it, seems like it may have been mixed in with the mayo. Still delicious but it’s always interesting to see the little updates. This update worked! It also cost three times as much as Eden center but that’s the economics of being in the city. Also fewer meat choices. Anyway I’ll stop harping on how it isn’t exactly like the viet places in Eden. It doesn’t need to be. It’s a fabulous addition to the neighborhood and I’ll be going there often!!!

Went to check this place out and get some Vietnamese food. Im blown away. Its beautifully constructed and the food is awesome! The bottom floor is a restaurant by day that serves Vietnamese and Asian street food. There are a whole bunch of classic video games on that floor too, so amazing and nostalgic.At night it turns into a club, so much fun! And, its even got a patio. Go check it out for yourself !

Not only is the music lively and upbeat; the Whole vibe is great for instagramable photos! Upstairs bathroom has a beautiful trippy design! Highly recommend trying their Pho!! Made all by the head mom Chef!!! #1 favorite place to go on all of U Street, 2nd best gotta be cloak and dagger

Went for their recurring karaoke Thursday. My group was the first there, there were probably a dozen of us. We were cool with the DJ waiting to get going, but she was straight up rude once she started and we were the only ones there. She lectured one of the guys for literally two minutes over the mic for not scanning the QR code to pick a song (he did, but she just kept going), then said my friends who went second mustve been high because she thought their performance was bad (they were not high). She had a lot of feedback issues in addition to delays. She tried to get us to stay as we were leaving by calling up one last person, because we were the only ones in the bar two hours after they opened (a couple people popped in, saw what was going on, and left), but there was nothing saving that experience. For service, I got bao which was solid. Drink-wise the bartender was fine but not giving a menu at all/having any idea what drinks cost is definitely off-putting and I dont know that Id go back even sans DJ as a result.

So hear me out. U street is my neighborhood having lived in the Ledroit Bloomingdale area since 2001 I have seen many clubs/lounges come and go. This was my first and probably last time at Alice. May 12th 2024.First of I asked one of the bartenders for a Tequila mule which tbh was a 4/10. When I went back to him for a second drink I asked him if he had ginger beer in there because I can barely taste it. With an attitude he said yes. Got my second drink.I ordered a hookah which was $78 and was utter trash. As someone who makes hookah very well this hookah came to me with the strength of 40% left in my typical hookah session. It was very weak from the onset. Funny enough the host asked me if I wanted to tip on top of the $78 which I said no.At the end of the night the basic Tequila mules were $22 a pop. All in all the worst value I have received from money spent. I only attended this place for a birthday event and further cements why I entertain and will continue to entertain myself at home. Also they added a CC transaction fee in my bill of $2.75. I can tell you this place will be out of business in less than 3 years. II don’t normally leave reviews so when I do it should not be taken lightly

One of my favorite spots in dc. Follow them on Instagram to know which nights have what kind of vibe/music based on the dj. The interior design is so awesome perfect for pictures and its even better that its hidden behind where they serve food! The food is delicious :)

The waitress was amazing, she was so nice and went above and beyond. We went early so there really wasn’t anyone there to judge the nightlife. Really cute place.

The bartender was very sweet and nice. Pho was good for a Viet girl. The banh mi was not authentic but still decent. Summer roll was different. I like that the arcade was free. On Sunday, the arcade section was open at 6 pm. I really like the arcade vibe and decor.

In every city, there is an Alice & Wonderland themed bar/club. The music is okay, the crowd makes it fun. This club has underwhelming drinks, unprofessional staff, unclean bathrooms and apparently, racial profiling. While I was there during Howard University Homecoming, they threw my friend (a black woman) out with no proof of her even doing anything. She was manhandled and treated extremely rudely. It should never take 3 men to get one petite woman out of a club, especially when she wasn’t fighting.

This food is straight up bad. I’m sorry but there are so many other places in the city to eat - don’t eat or order take out from here. The quality of the meat is shockingly low and the flavors aren’t there. The night club portion is fine but don’t go hungry.

This place is awesome! You’ll love the ambience and decor! Great spot to enjoy a late night out! Open til 3am!! You can tell there is a little love in the pho broth even though it is technically still considered street food version! Check it out asap!

Amazing atmosphere and great club! So much potential here, I can already imagine Saturday at the Park migrating to this venue. I was hesitant on getting viet food at the bar, but honestly the quality was top notch and I highly recommend it. The crowd is energetic, and the owner Sonny is extremely friendly. For those of you who don’t know Sonny, he also owns Cloak and Dagger next door. You can tell by how well the club is run, that he’s a veteran in the game. 10/10 would recommend.

Awesome new venue with a killer Alice in Wonderland theme. The fast casual food on the first floor was delicious (wings were crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside with a wonderful kick) and the upstairs vibes are phenomenal. Neon lights and themed decor continued a wonderland atmosphere that’s perfect for a night out. Loved the hallway with the classic arcade machines as well as the outdoor patio seating area where you can enjoy the night air as well as your drink. Will definitely be back and telling my friends to take a trip down the rabbit hole!

Came out for a chill night with my friends and ended up having one of the best nights out. Hands down best party spot in DC!! All my friends had a crazy fun time and well definitely be back soon. Great ambiance, strong drinks, incredible service, music was bumping. Amazing vibes from the moment we walked in till the lights came on and everyone was ushered out. LOL We were having such a great time we werent ready to go home. Havent had a night out like that in years! Cant wait to go back.

Went to their grand opening and all I can say is WOW! Yes the line was long to get in, its expected on a nice cool night on U street. The security at the door did a great job, they didnt rush, they were very thorough. The first floor smells amazing from the mouth watering food their pumping out, pho was on point! The bar staff was tentative and didnt shy away from making conversations, with me and fellow customers next me. Overall the layout, the theme, the energy was nothing less than awesome! The customer service was what stood out to me most just because you dont think about that in this setting but it was so great I needed to share my great experience. Bravo Alice DC!!

One of the best if not the best place to catch that vibe many are seeking 💯. The food is absolutely delicious and the wings are my guilty pleasure. The staff is just like family, if you havent already visited you are missing out. Make this your go to place to bring family and friends. DJ needs to get fired. She disrespected couples who are straight. I tried to show my boyfriend and good time on his birthday and we showed up early aka first and still made me wait 2 hours acted like the song wasn’t there. And then wen on the mic talking about people ant go . Like bro sis um we walked in first and gave you my song third. SMH

This is one of the best, if not the best club vibe in DC. Well run and managed, attentive and fun bar staff. And two floors with two different vibes with different DJs and music, so you can always switch up the vibe without having to go anywhere else.Great ambiance and Alice in Wonderland theme and decorations. Lots of old school arcade machines on the main floor so you can go head to head with your date in some classic Street Fighter! And be sure to catch some delicious asian noodles late night when youre hungry, because the food is fantastic! Overall its always a fun time here!

They took the hookah from the table we had paid for, placed a new hookah there for new group to smoke, that did not pay for table. They were not closing at that time as the owner had stated below. They were rude and didnt even ask if we done, or ask if we would like a new one until I asked what they were doing. The wait for the bathroom was crazy as well. I had a good time, minus those things.

What a hidden gem! From the vibe, the staff, the owner and down to the food— I’m thoroughly impressed! Momma Tran makes some of the best Banh Mis around town… and don’t miss the pho— you can literally feel it heal your soul/hangover from the first sip. The food was so good, we ordered two more servings to-go! The arcade is a nice touch to the trippy vibe. Sonny definitely created a new hot spot in town. I’m definitely coming back here to check out what the nightlife vibes are like. Overall, this place is exceptional. Bravo!

I recently visited Alice on U after hearing many great things about it through my friends and social media, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I stepped inside, I was transported into a world of vibrant energy, pulsating beats, and an electrifying atmosphere that kept me hooked throughout the night.First and foremost, the staff at Alice deserves a all the hype. A special shoutout to the chef! She was super sweet and I regret not trying her imfamous Pho when I visited.The venue itself is simply stunning. The neon lights and the projector screens playing scenes from iconic anime series was super unique. The dance floor, while not too big, was never really an issue for me and my friends, as the club has multiple floors so we were able to walk up and down the floors if one floor felt too crowded. The lighting and sound system were top-notch, creating an immersive audio-visual experience that added to the overall ambiance of the club.Alice on U is a gem among the nightlife scene. With its outstanding staff and adorable chef, stunning venue, fantastic music, and delicious drinks, its an absolute must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable night out.I cant wait to visit again soon!

My best friend and I were at this club during Homecoming and they racially profiled us. We were dragged out by THREE MEN because they said that I punched someone. I have never in my life put hands on someone, Ive never even been in a fight in school or with my siblings. They pulled me out and wouldnt explain to me why they took 3 men to drag me outside and that was only that I got IDed by someone who got assaulted. They also threatened to ban us.

I have been a patron of Alice a few times and enjoy the venue and pho, however, the last time I was there I was treated very poorly. My partner and I went there with friends to eat and enjoy the upstairs. Our friends ordered and received their food, and we ordered and paid and after talking with the staff for 15 or so minutes about our order and just having a pleasant conversation, they say we didn’t order and they aren’t serving us any food. We paid $42 and they denied we paid and wouldn’t let us order or refund us. The security kicked us out. Extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. I’ve never had a restaurant treat me so poorly.

Stoked to be able to make it there opening night. Never been anywhere quite like this (in the most amazing way!). I started off my evening meeting cool people on the first floor while eating delicious Vietnamese friend spring rolls. The food court is defo authentic!I then headed upstairs to enjoy a few mixed drinks while listening to the dj spinning good music. Was so awesome!!!!

It’s okay. It’s a cute themed bar with Vietnamese food if you come earlier. I was disappointed that the establishment is still working on the cocktail menu so they don’t have any specialty cocktails. To me, that is the real essence of a themed bar experience. Also they charged the men a $10 cover on a Sunday which was disappointing because nobody was hardly even in there. I think this place has a lot of potential but it’s probably going to be some months before I’ll ever go back.

Have been coming to this place since they opened and I am thoroughly disappointed at the down hill trajectory Alice is displaying. first, the bathrooms are properly vile. gender neutral bathrooms with fecal matter and pools of urine in every single stall. the older white female security lady with the bangs was easily the rudest security I have ever encountered. when she checked my body to let me in, she actually groped my chest & gave me issues for wanting to use the down stairs bathroom. horribly managed, not cleaned. Under staffed. Terrible se-curity. Over priced drinks. One rail drink is $22 for reference

1st: the bartender lost my card and tried to convince me that I was the one who lost it. She instantly pulled the receipt even after she had lost my card to make sure I don’t change the tip amount. Continue to blame me for loosing the card then Pulls it out after 10 minutes of me looking everywhere, because she ‘forgot’ it on the counter.The music was good, so were the drinks which should be a given considering the drinks are 21$ for a basic vodka cranberry.2ndly I went to use the bathroom and it looked vile, filthy toilet paper on the seats, and urine everywhere. I asked one of the bartenders if there was a cleaner bathroom, and they led me downstairs. Only for a female bouncer to wait at the bathroom door and threaten to pepper spray me and kick me out for using that bathroom which I ASKED PERMISSION TO USE!It was an incredibly unprofessional experience overall, I wanted to purchase a table there but completely changed my mind.The female bouncer had to be held back from pepper spraying me by other bouncers, who knew she was in violation of all sorts of laws and policies.The bouncer was an old female with blond hair and blue eyes.

Very neat addition to the DMV area. We discovered this spot on TikTok and decided we had to try it out. When walking in, security guards were patting people down (which is a little strange but felt safe). They serve food like pho on the first floor and in the back they have free arcade games (which several were broken). On the second floor they have a bar and dance floor area. The drinks are relatively expensive for what we received.

I’ve been working closely with Icah coordinating my birthday plans. I just want to her applaud her great customer service skills and timely response. She is amazing and I can’t wait to celebrate my birthday here because of her.

I normally get Pho soup the day after a night of drinking so this concept is my actual dream! We partied upstairs for a Howard Homecoming event and then came downstairs to a Vietnamese kitchen. It was hard to choose what to get. Then menu is small but it’s all my favorites. In the end my friends and I shared the wings which were super tasty and then I got the Pho. It was Perfect! And hit the spot. There was generous amount of beef and the broth was fragrant and comforting. I will be back for the dumplings and more soup!

They tried to scam me at the bar and charge me double for my drinks. When I asked about it, they kept saying it was correct until I insisted on an itemized bill. Turns out they were trying to charge me $100 for $50 worth of drinks! They also quoted different prices to different people ordering. Worst bar I have ever been to!

I live nearby and was excited to have them open up. Ive been there four times in the last three weeks, totally satisfied with the pho on each visit. Friendly staff, Jin the owner is very cool and his mom runs an excellent kitchen. Ill be making weekly visits as the weather starts to cool. Nothing better than a steaming bowl of pho on a cold day. I look forward to seeing the menu expand, hoping for Bun Ga Nuong to be added. I tried the stir fried green beans today, also delicious.

Look no further! Alice bar is the way to go if youre looking for great vibes and drinks. The employees were quick and friendly. If youre having the munchies go downstairs and grab some food from Mama Trans drool worthy menu eggs rolls, fries, and bao buns! Theres also a hidden downstair bar/lounge with fun arcade game. Check out cloak and dagger next door as well!

Than absolute worst hookah Im the DMV. Doesnt pull, and when u ask them they tell you its your flavor. I asked 3 other smokers and they all had the same issue. I gave 3 stars because the rest of the spot and I dont want to be a hater. That said DO NOT get a hookah from here. Absolute waste of money

The guys who opened Cloak and Dagger have done it again! Instead of a fancy bar hidden within club vibes Alice is a restaurant with many hidden secrets. I couldn’t believe how beautiful the backdrop for the first floor hidden bar and arcade lounge is. If you’re ready to make an occasion of your night in DC theres VIP service in the upstairs club level. Sound system is gonna hit u hard regardless.

I visit this place November 5, 2022, my nephew went to the bar upstairs the Asian bartender charge my card for 4 shots of 127.32, we did not get the shots. I reported this issues to one of the owners and a manager. The manager sends me a screenshot that the charges was reversed, I never received it. This business is very unprofessional and expensive

Ok this is a place I just had to visit based off Instagram and when I got there immediately disappointed . We got there at about 10:30 and waited in line for over 30 mins because they said the club was too full after waiting 30 min they finally let us in even though no one left the club the only difference is now we have to pay a cover🙄. I wanted to visit here for the secret room unfortunately that was closed . At the restaurant part they seemed to not even want to help me and I was 100% sober I literally only wanted to visit this place for the visuals and food but was met with disappointment right away. The music was cool it was definitely dc culture!

The place has a nice décor however the drinks and bar service was not worth the price. $42 for two margaritas with an ounce of alcohol is insane. I took my business next door where they served better drinks.

Alice is the new one stop, hot spot in DC! Come for delish asian food on the 1st floor and then stay all night long for drinks and dancing. This place has an amazing vibe, great music and the coolest themed decor for fun photo ops. Check it out!

Finally had a chance to try out this place and it didn’t disappoint! All the food we got (pho, bahn mi, buns, and dumplings) were great, with the highlights being the pho broth and bahn mi. The atmosphere was great and we had great service. We plan to go back again!

Sadly i am unable to leave a review with 0 stars. The door attendant made me pay for my ticket twice. She said her system was down and couldn’t validate my ticket, therefore i had to pay $30 in addition to the $20 ticket i purchased beforehand. My friends & I will not return to these pitiful scam artists.

The worst security ever. Had a bunch of dirt bikes and atvs revving in my face and I said something. The security then approached me and wanted to fight me about it. Will never return to some hood place like this where security is actively trying to fight me.

I paid over $30 (before tip) for a whiskey sour and a shot of tequila served in plastic cups. The ambience wasnt as cool as it looked online.
