I expected this place to be like every other Mexican restaurant, but was very wrong. The vibrant colors, music, atmosphere, and food reminded me of the restaurants visited in Juarez when I worked there. The food was not just thrown on a plate with the standard beans and rice, but put on the plate with a presentation usually reserved for $$$ restaurants. The fish was cooked perfectly, and the seasoning was a flavor explosion. I thought it was a little pricey when looking at the menu, but everyone left with a second meal because of the generous helpings. Definitely worth a visit while in Lawrence.

I recently visited Caribe for the first time and it was a very pleasant surprise. From the outside, it looks like a very humble restaurant. The parking lot is rather the worse for wear and the building is underwhelming at best. Once inside, however, my impression changed 180 degrees.The atmosphere and decor, as the name suggests, put one in mind of a Carribbean beachfront bar. The food is tropical and seafood-oriented although there are burritos, tacos, and tostadas and other more familiar Mexican favourites, as well. There are some gorgeous tropical cocktails, too.The wait staff was friendly and very attentive. They repeatedly checked in on our situation, spiciness levels, beverage needs and so on. English was a bit of an issue but there was a translator staff member to help, as needed.The prices were reasonable but certainly not cheap. On Sunday afternoon when we were there, it was quite packed but we didnt have to wait. The music was loud so dont expect to have a lot of conversation unless you are prepared to speak loudly.Pro Tip: The restrooms were clean and decorated nicely. For dessert, you might consider picking up some cake at the Hispanic cake and donut shop next door.

Really enjoyed this restaurant. We speak little Spanish and the waitress spoke little English but we could tell she was trying and she was super sweet. Seafood is really good. Some of the best I’ve had. Mojito was amazing. Really fun and welcoming atmosphere. The owner is super nice. Recommend getting the flan for desert! Overall tasty, I would come back definitely. It is a bit pricey but I think it’s worth it.

Food was ready surprisingly fast, the atmosphere was very nice and makes you want to get up and wish they had a dance floor . Crabs legs were so flavorful !

Food was great. Grabbed some shrimp empanadas for lunch. Smelled amazing as soon as I walked in. Clean, cute little place. Service was above average even with a small language barrier (Google translate can help in a pinch but wasnt necessary on this trip). Music was a tad loud considering I was effectively alone, but given I hate mouth sounds would be appreciated had I had guests with me.

Awesome, fresh seafood. The guy that was our server was outstanding. Nice and clean. Definitely will drive to Indianapolis again just to eat there. it was well worth it.

Went for a dance social. Wasn’t very crowded at all. Staff was very attentive from the moment we entered. Drink lasted the whole night. I mean look at it that thing was humongous! All in all nice place to lay back and chill. LBC VIBES!

My wife and I came to explore Indiana from California and found this restaurant. This restaurant is amazing, food is out of this world delicious, service is great and atmosphere awesome! Definitely will be coming back during our duration in indy. I definitely recommend this place, beats all marisco restaurants in Cali !!

The environment is beautiful and clean for the most part minus the flies that come inside cause the door is left open.. The food was very good and service is great! Menu has a very good Options. Bonus that the manager comes and check on all the customers.

They were busy on Father’s Day but we really liked what we read in the reviews so we decided to try it out. They did not disappoint the food was delicious, my husband loved the fish and I had Fajitas. The prices are good! The staff treated us very well. It did feel like we were able to visit the Caribe by eating at this restaurant. The decor is beach themed and they had a screen playing slideshows of beach sceneries.

Wow this place is fantastic. Unique menu with many things I’ve never seen at an Indianapolis restaurant. Not for people who fear flavor or new foods they are not catering to the American palette. Great atmosphere with music and decor that is on point. Clean bathrooms always and most importantly the best staff. Customer service is through the roof these folks take pride in their work, tip em extra cause I already know they deserve it.

Food was absolutely superb!! You can taste the love in every bite! The tomatoes in the salsa soo fresh! Food came out piping hot! Portions much larger than expected! Service was attentive and great!! Must try!!

The food, drinks & customer service was outstanding! The menu offered a variety of different selections, I had the Al mojo de ajo and words couldn’t describe how flavorful the fish was! I also enjoyed the oysters topped with Ceviche. 10/10 highly recommend! I also really enjoyed that everything was in Spanish and only upon request would you get a menu in English.

We love this place. Its always packed. Make sure you plan on waiting, if you come on weekends. Waiter are frindly for the most part. Food does take a bit long if they are busy. This is not a quiet place. Pretty loud, always have music on.

It more than met our expectations we are definitely coming again.We had a tough time figuring out what we were going to order because there were so many great meals to choose from. One of my favorite places to eat. Food is always spot on, service is impeccable. The only restaurant I have ever been to that delivers your food exactly as pictured on the menu. I have joked that each time I have gone I am the only “gringo” but no one ever makes me feel that way. I highly recommend for authentic taste and great atmosphere. You will not be disappointed…

Nice atmosphere! It is really a Mexican restaurant serving tilapia and red Snapper. No real seafood place! Total let down. I ordered chicken wings. Friends ordered shrimp and steak and peppers.The main problem is the language. Only one person could understand what we asked. Every one else smiled and waved! 😕

The worst service I’ve had in a while. We where a group 6 and we all split our checks into 2’s and forced tip on on tabs, and you know why? Their service it the worst. We all ordered our food at the same time and we all got our food at different times. Between our first order coming out and the last one it was a difference of about 1 hour and half. Definitely won’t ever call me back here again nor will I recommend this restaurant to anyone..

The food is nice, we ate a bowl of crag legs, fish, shrimps, shells and its about $27 per portion. The price is a bit high but the place is worth to eat seafood. The waitress is not really humble.

For something new in Indy, this is a must on my list. The food was excellent and full of flavor. Scores a 10/10 compared to such places like Red Lobster. Will definitely put this on my friends must try list. The service was welcoming and warm. The whole experience was AWESOME overall rating a 10/10. I don’t suppose I would give the neighborhood or the building five stars. But for the food, the cleanliness, the waitress, the feeling that you had just stepped through a wormhole into a wonderful little restaurant in Mexico or Latin America, it’s definitely worth five stars. We travel a lot to enjoy other cultures and have pretty much been grounded since Covid but this place made us smile like we were a thousand miles away. The food was good, tasty, and authentic. The prices were reasonable and the portions were relatively large. I’m really glad that we stumbled across this place. We have already told friends that they have to go.

I Love the decor..I like the drinks, but, Im not really a cilantro girl. So, with that being said, if you like, no, LOVE cilantro, then this is the place for YOU!!! Its heavily in EVERYTHING! Also, I was expecting more Caribbean flavors. (Its more of a Mexican food restaurant). They have great service (it helps ALOT to speak Spanish, otherwise, ordering might be a little troublesome 😉). They have large tvs with sports on. Kids will have fun in the environment, and have their own menu. Live entertainment can be seen there. Nice array of seafood dishes. Prices seem to be fair! Probably will come back with some girlfriends..

Authentic Mexican food with a Caribbean influence that will knock your socks off. The enchiladas were superb and the three meat tacos were out of this world! Very quaint atmosphere with good music and my margarita was very good as well. If youre on the northeast side of Indianapolis and want great Mexican food you should come to Caribe!!

My experience here was absolutely amazing!!! I will definitely be returning. Note: Most of the employees speak mostly Spanish. I would say do your homework before you come in and use some Spanish words/phrases when you come in to help with your experience. You can tell they want you to have a great time. The food was beyond good. Im still thinking about it. We ordered fajitas, the mojarro to garlic, ceviches toast, prawns, and the broth soup, and the other soup that had octopus in it. The prices were so affordable, especially for a big birthday dinner. The chips and salsa, mmmm mmmm mmmm. Ha! I could go on and on but overall they get a 10/10, highly highly recommend, and yes we will be going again and again. Great staff, great service, great food. Nice bathroom too. The birthday celebration they do is spectacular, the music timed perfectly with the sparkler and the churros were outstanding, perfect texture and taste. Social distanced, and still a wonderful experience.

The food was ok but it took them 1hr 15mins to bring appetizers and a total of 1hr 45 mins to get the food. They were taking out to go orders the whole time we were there! If your hungry and want to eat fast this is not the place for you! Do not tge recommend!!

I have a real bad experience in this restaurant me and my girlfriend Wind or dinner And then everything was fine until the awaiters tell us that she needs she wants us to move Because she wants to use this table automatically and ask her why And she dont say anything she basically said shes just gonna use it since Ive seen the situation and the poor service that I just get me I decide they just go ahead and get up and tell my girlfriend lets go somewhere else . Was very sad experience .

I removed a star just for the simple fact that i asked for a to go cup and they didnt have one, please get styrofoam cups! I love coming here and i never finish my drink and i would love to take it to go, not in a container for food but in a styrofoam cup, thank you.

Me and my wife had stopped at this place a few years ago when it first opened, and we really liked it, but this last visit I made was very unpleasant. Something that sets the ceviche apart is the lemon flavor but the mixed ceviche that I and my wife ordered was dry. The fish and asada tacos were a little salty. Our waitress only took our order and brought drinks, we didnt look at her until it was time to clean the table and collect her tip. I dont know if we arrived very early or at a very slow time but it is a shame to write reviews like this for a place that is very beautifully decorated and has 4.7 stars…

Very delicious food, good portions and good service. A little exaggerated in the Halloween decoration. They had a monkey/doll when they opened the door, obviously the children get scared. Im not from the area but I think its a family restaurant but with that decoration it seems like they dont accept children, we who take children is not highly recommended, one of the children who was with us didnt want to go in, he was afraid 😨 but well the decoration Its temporary lets hope the taste of the food doesnt.

The worst experience I have ever had, terrible service from the waitress, we had been waiting for more than 10 minutes for someone to serve us, no one came to take our order and the waitress who gave us the table first served another couple who arrived last than us.My husband and I decided to leave since no one came to serve us, not even to take our drink or chip order.
