OYO Hotel Jackson South I-55

The rooms if your lucky get cleaned once a week. I have to catch the maid to ask for my room to be cleaned if she takes the time to clean it. Rooms do not get cleaned or bed linens changed. I have to go to office every 2 days to get clean towels. They do not replace them. Trash doesnt get took out of the room. This motel also has roaches. The manager is not getting anything done about this problem after complaining.

We had to stay here because we lost power for 2 weeks at our house. 1st the owners are extremely rude and treat everyone horribly. On one hand you almost cant blame them for being so rude because the majority of people staying at this hotel are pond scum. There are rooms with 7 to 10 people in them and they are up at all hours of the night. In fact, some of the real higher class citizen residents were working on their miniature motorcycles at 3 and 4 in the morning while we were trying to sleep. When we 1st checked in and given keys, we walk in the room only to find that it is already occupied. Then the next room we were given had used condoms in the trash can as well as the top nightstand drawer being full of crack paraphernalia, the prior guests had taken the smoke detectors down and plugged the hole in the wall with toilet paper, they had done the same to the peep hole in the door. Both of the bedside lamps had been made inoperable and the toilet never flushed. When we asked for a plunger, we were given a 6ft crank handle Kobalt snake with a head on the end of the cable too large to go down the toilet drain. Not once were we asked if we needed fresh towels or if we got the toilet working or needed another room if we didnt. Every morning the cleaning ladies would knock on the door or just come right on in around 9:45 or 10 and after all of this they had the nerve to harass us everyday for a $10 deposit on our little Chiweenie dog as if he was going to damage their immaculent rooms. The place has spiders and roaches, and people scurrying around outside buying, selling and using drugs and last but not least, because of the language barrier, you cannot have a conversation with anyone at the front desk (except for one white man that worked nights sometimes, I must say he was a pleasure to deal with and the only bright spot behind that front desk. The OYO on I55 South Frontage Rd should be condemned, and the Oyo Company should be embarrassed to have their name and reputation attached to this location. Avoid at all costs!

I enjoy staying at 155 south room. The room beautiful and clean. And me and my husband enjoyed the nice bed. And the staff was help and very nice

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT stay here! I stayed one night because I had a load to pick up Saturday morning, went to my truck and my 3500 watt Predator inverter generator was stolen, cable lock cut, 2 1/2 ton floor jack was gone! NO security cameras! Avoid this hotel!

Terrible when its close for u to check out I will consistently come to your room and u dont get a deposit back and there are roaches filthy motel

Management has a dont care attitude. They refused to listen when I complained about transaction fees charged to my payroll debit card when paying my weekly rate room on advance. They insisted it was not their fault despite confirmation from the card provider customer service department that they had run the charges as a credit card charge and not a debit card transaction as I had told them. It cost me $45.00 on my account. I had to call the card provider to have the charges changed to a debit transaction and have the fees refunded to my card. When I checked in the room had not been cleaned at all. It even had dirty linens on the bed and empty food wrappers and beer bottles scattered throughout the room. I had to use my own towels and only had maid service knock on the door once per week. I will be changing hotels and will not stay here again, ever! There are roaches, the ceiling in the bathroom is caving in and the water control knob in the bathtub comes off in your hand. Their rates are far too high for the accomodations provided. They are rude and do not speak the language well enough to be dealing with the public , DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE!

The service at the front desk was very friendly and cordial but the rooms need to be dated and sheets replaced to more presentable and clean state. It was situated in a perfect spot off the highway.

Dirty room in terrible need of repairs and renovations, terrible service at reception desk, including no one present when I went to address no hot water in room. No coffee available in the morning (no breakfast included but coffee offered online), in a desolate area of town. Avoid this hotel whenever possible!!

Ok so I only called because I was coming into Jackson and upon calling to ask about the prices and accommodation, I was hung up on.The reviews told me all I needed to know but at times people trash really nice places. But upon farther review and some callsNo do not go hereIts simple, spend the extra few dollars and go up the street. If the service bad on the phone just imagine staying there a few days.

This hotel was questionable when I pulled into the parking lot and just got worse from there. The only positive thing I can say is that the man at the front desk was very kind and accommodating. The room was disgusting. The furniture was filthy. The walls were falling apart. The bathroom ceiling was sagging and full of mold. There was evidence that the door had been busted in previously. We spent 30 minutes here while making calls to book lodging elsewhere and left. I have contacted the company for a refund...well see how that goes...

Its okay place to stay...staff is nice.

The check in service wasnt bad, but the room was disgusting. I even scanned the room for any hidden cameras.....& yeah.....ladies...... beware of this place bc there are cameras inside the rooms & behind mirrors. There was constant commotion outside & bass thumping music all night long.I was with a guy in construction who felt uncomfortable leaving his tools & equipment in his truck bc there were several people just hanging out by a broken down car with a man inside tinkering on a broken power nail gun. So, needless to say, I wont be returning.

Stole my money then pretend to call police on illegal help… stole money out of my room and for the room…… room fee was never found 😑The owner is racist and obviously from his words don’t need you peoples money

Me and my trucking partner got stuck in Mississippi unfortunately. The shop that repaired our truck was next door so this was pretty much our only option. The room was not clean the dead roaches, mattress looked like it was found on the side of the road, the fridge was nasty, and the sofa was obviously found next to the mattress. Then there was a storm knocking out the power so our truck couldnt be repaired so we had to stay another night. The owner or office worker still charged regular price for a room with no power. By night two we had enough and relocated to a hotel with power couple blocks down.

Describe your stay. Well….. if you count the 15 minutes we spent in the room booking a room at the Hampton inn a stay , here’s our description. DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE! The room was beyond disgusting, every surface was filthy including the pillow cases and sheets, the bathroom had a giant hole in the wall, tile falling off wall in shower, ceiling moldy and falling. The refrigerator freezer was a giant block of ice. When they defrost it they will probably find a wooly mammoth. Also the pictures of the rooms are not what you’re getting! If you want a better description of how bad it is. I’m burning my clothes, calling the health dept and building inspector. This place should be turned into a parking lot or used on a set of a rob zombie movie. YOU’VE BEEN WARNED! I don’t even want to give it 1 star……..

Absolutely the worst experience of my life and was charged twice on my room. That I had to be moved from the first time for no hot water the second time for broken door lock and didnt get settled in my Nasty room until almost 2am and started the process at 6 pm

We stayed twice at this hotel, en route to Australia and on the way back. When we arrived early in the morning on the first section of the trip, they let us have the room immediately. The room was a good size, nice comfortable beds and clean. You can imagine how grateful we were for this. We were able to shower, have breakfast and then set out to explore MS. Breakfast was excellent, by the way. On the return leg, we arrived around midnight.

We were hoping for a lovely hotel based on reviews, website & recommendation. We were not disappointed. It ticks all boxes!! The foyer is beautiful, the building is very well decorated and well looked after, the roof terrace is wonderful with fantastic views to the central and a nice sized place

The hotel offers a selection of pillows that made sleeping all the more comfy. Service was good. The rooms were sufficient in size and quiet. We had a seven person van and hotel parking was not conducive to such a large vehicle. There is street parking and a lot down the road...

Air conditioner didnt work. Sheets were filthy. Rug felt like it had never been shampooed. Got a rash on the back of my legs from sitting on a chair in the hotel room that lasted 5 days! Refrigerator and microwave filthy and not plugged in or near an outlet. One of 4 lightbulbs were working. Had to evacuate Hurricane Ida so couldnt be too picky with what was available in the area but sheesh. The tub and tub walls still had hair from the previous people ! Did not see a cleaning person once even during check out. If we hadnt been so exhausted and desperate would have definitely kept driving.

Worst hotel experience. No bulbs in light socket, holes in walls, holes open above tub/shower, sheets were stained and bed covering had holes. Cobwebs when entering room and dust everywhere. Hands down the worst kept hotel. I have stayed at other Oyo locations without incident. This location should be closed.

Wouldnt let my dog sleep there. Dead roaches in nasty OLD tub. Beds were a joke. The mattress was layed on what looked like a piece of metal square duct work.LOL. The stopper in the sink was gone. The ceiling had been repaired many times and never painted. The carpet was old and slick. I checked in at 400pm. I checked out at 405pm same day. Lost my money but whatever. HAD FUNKY TV WITH NO REMOTE.

Hotel was an excellent one for the money. Everyone spoke English. Food at hotel was great, especially the buffet.The waitress there was exceptionally friendly and helpful at the buffet.Close to attractions and the ports. Water was given freely to us as guests. Weather was hot and having consistent supply was necessary.

Ok, so I have been off work last week and a half. Fixing to try to work till my health issues are resolved. I am gonna try my best to get rooms back up to par. I see bad reviews and dont want folks thinking its my fault. I do the best with what I have to work with. I think more renovations are being discussed very soon. If u can overlook management rough edges, I promise this place isnt all that bad. Give us a chance once we do work over next few months, hope u will enjoy your stay. UPDATE: I CAN ASSURE U THAT THERES NO HIDDEN CAMERAS IN THE ROOMS. JUST BECAUSE U R UPSET DOESNT MEAN LIE. YES THIS PLACE NEEDS TO B UPDATED, BUT NOBODY HAS PLACED CAMERAS IN THE ROOMS. I am housekeeper and live on site at oyo hotel I 55 south. I tend to bottom floor. I hope that everyone has a good safe stay and comes back for repeat business. I do my best to clean and maintain rooms to satisfy guests. Thanks for your patience during renovation

This was the highlight of our trip to South frontage in the Fall! The hotel is gorgeous. The restaurant there is excellent! If you go at night, there is a light show in the bay that was spectacular. Since the weather is hot, the things to see are at night. Nearly all the buildings nearby participate in a show of lights. Unforgettable!

This hotel is horrible please stay away, this place should be torn down, sheets don’t get changed and no cleaning is done to these rooms, it is filthy ……😔

If I could give this place a negative 10 rating I would. The pictures on this site is very misleading and so far from what these rooms really look like. This roach motel is a cesspool. Nothing works right in these rooms. Oh yea they dont have phones or towels in the rooms. Worst motel operating.

Check in Saturday at 4 o clock gave me a room was not clean hade to wait House keep clean room if u request stay from Saturday too Sunday that 9 /6. To 9/12 clean room one time was there when she way cleaning a brown spider was in the top cover and the room have a smell like sewage oh had 1 set of towel and the price was for 3 days was $180 2 day &120 I plan to only stay for 3 day but emergency came up I got 2 more days for $120 mattress smell

This location south of Jackson, MS was disgusting. Extremely old and dirty. I observed vandalism of a vehicle in the parking lot within 5 minutes of arriving. Also the bathroom was extremely dirty on a room that was suppose to be clean. The mini fridge in the room was moldy. Packed up and left and slept in the car.

My husband and I just spent 4 nights at the hotel. It was perfectly located, right by the city and central but it is really easy to get anywhere as the city is relatively small. We had a room on the ground floor which, although dark, was so quiet and peaceful, despite the breakfast area being right outside and the area outside the hotel buzzing with life.

The bathtub drain was stopped up. I couldnt ever take a shower. The room was dirty and had cockroaches. The staff was rude.

This place gets a bad rap bc of previous owners and mgmt. I was hesitant to stay here, that is until i met the staff and the owner. The staff here is amazing, the husband-wife team literally go beyond what would normally be expected. They do it all: housekeeping, repairs and remodels, security (not that I have ever witnessed a need for it), you name it these 2 on-site individuals do it. My children and I actually returned here and are staying long term in a suite/apt, which the owner offered at a wonderful discounted rate. No doubt this team has their work cut out to overcome the stigma thats been placed on this place. But as hard as they are working, it wont take long. If you can look past the cosmetic imperfections that doesnt effect the quality of ur stay anyway, then I would come here anytime! Now, if only they had a pool...

We enjoyed our overnight stay in this hotel. We were even upgraded to 2nd floor the Captain of Transportation is very helpful in arranging for our itinerary in the remaining hours of our stay in South frontage. He has good practical suggestions. We will soon stay here in our next visit.

Pay close attention to these reviews. 100% fake. First there is no rooftop terrace like many mention. Second most of the fake reviewers have reviewed 6 to 7 OYO hotels. How likely is that? Im more inclined to believe the 1 star reviews on this property. I was about to book, so glad I looked closer.

My wife and I have two weeks’ vacation trip to visit Jackson. Hotel location is very good if you travel by car and the room was clean. Most important thing is that front desk staff’s services was best on my this trip!!! I will come back to this hotel if I re-visit South frontage rd.

This place was horrible. The doors to the room you could see thru the door frames. The towels had stains on them. One room they gave me had stains on the mattress pad. I went to the office and asked for another room. I would have left the place, but I knew there was no refund. Do not use this place.

Its definitely a You get what you pay for place. Run down, duct taped carpet, bad smelling and areas of the walls looked as if a pet had tried to scratch its way out of the bathroom. Stay here only it youre desperate and have no other choice. We left.....

Cheap prices, management is nice, central to businesses and food. Not the cleanest though. I never saw roaches but it isnt the type place you should go barefoot on the carpet;definitely bring socks you dont mind throwing away after your stay. Rent by the hour, night, or week so that tells you all you need to know.

We as a couple went this month to Jackson and we were very glad to stay at Hotel Jackson - South I-55 , it is located at a walking distance from the Jackson Central and also to the City, the hotel is surrounded by famous restaurants, bars, gift stores, etc. It has nice clean rooms and a very professional staff. Even we stayed just one night and it was raining in the city we enjoyed our stay.

It is always another happy stay at Jackson - South Sands, our 4th, including first right during inaugural of hotel. The luxury stay with mind blowing views, excellent service of cocktails and hot snacks steals thunder for every stay. The breakfast as always, a very large spread, everyone prefers the main restaurant, hence bit of queuing though.

Old, old, old! Nothing, and I mean nothing has been changed since I had a party my senior year of high school there that was 1992. The only difference is the pool is now beautifully.... And oh so carefully... Filled in with dirt! Lol

Lovely hotel with small rooftop pool and sun loungers. Conveniently situated for major tourist sites and lots of bars, cafes and restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff and excellent breakfast buffet restaurant. Tea and coffee in room and free hot and cold drinks and snacks available throughout the day in lounge.

Only thing wrong bald guy had attitude when asked for towels when they never left any in room after cleaning. Besides that it was cool

I couldnt believe it... One pillow.. hole in curtain closed with a spring clip...no lampshades... Blunt roaches in the drawers... pad lock style clip on door... toilet paper in the peep hole. .. stains on EVERYTHING... Plunger on the ground out front...

Awful management. The hotel wasn’t that bad considering it’s a $30 hotel, but the staff were not friendly and could barely speak english. They charged my card twice and now won’t answer my phone calls after trying to get my money back. Will NOT stay here again.

Was the worst place I’ve ever been, we did not stay. From the moment we walked in we had FLEAS I repeat FLEAS on our legs, the bathroom was disgusting, we pulled back the blanket just to see what we’d done and it was NASTY! Stained just gross. Idk how they manage to stay open.

There was absolutely no hot water on I-55 north. The key never worked at all. Plus I never got my 50 security deposit back. It was horrible

This is a nice Quiet place. Ive stayed here before as an Extended stay and The owners are some Great People. Theyre are very Patient and Kind. Thanks for a Great Stay😊

Room was stinky, toilet obviously hadn’t been cleaned as it hadn’t even been flushed...Ended up at Woodspring Suites, nicer rooms, better amenities, nicer staff ...etc

They advertise $28 for a room when you book it. When you get there its an extra $50 deposit fee. Do yourself a favor and dont book because all sales are final.

Worst place no proper amenities, just talk only at the time of reservation and provide nothing. No.proper house keeping and the lady cuts the water at her own will and no proper cleanliness. Never plan to.plan here.

If you are looking for something cheap and affordable, then this will work for you. Can be some sketchy activity going on at times but other than that, rooms are clean and staff is friendly. Not a place to bring the family and kids.

Nasty, I am warning you do not stay here. They have a major mice problem. Mice in every room Im warning you and if you tell the man at the front desk about the mice he say he know and no refund.

This experience was awful I was put in probably one the worst rooms and at full price or at least for more than I have ever paid before and alsoits been 3 weeks still have not got my 30 dollar deposit back from another stay

We had stayed in hotel Jackson several times, however during this occasion on the 11Oct 2018, we had a unplanned stay due to my father passing away, the staff excepted my reservation at the last hour, and accommodated us for 5 days knowing the fact that they were running full.
