Green Parrot Bar

I had a nice time at the Green Parrot this past weekend. It was definitely one of my favorite bars I visited during my time in Key West. I was very impressed with the live music they had. Most bars will have a singer or guitarist but this was a full on five piece band that played great together. There was trumpets, trombones, and guitars all at once it was amazing! They played when the saints come marching in while making their way around the entire bar and outside the bar.The drinks are good as well. I recommend taking advantage of the free popcorn machine they have towards the back of the bar! What a great idea!

Did not have food,just stopped into this iconic Key West bar for some drinks and to play a game of darts with my wife. Had a wonderful time at this classic dive bar. Will be sure to return on my next trip. And remember no sniveling!

Favorite bar off of the busy Duval St bar area. Plenty busy before 11am but not super loud, especially with one attentive bartender on deck. Need to try their Bloody Mary next visit.

The vibe was right at Green Parrot. The live music was on point and it really felt like this was the spot that kicked off the energy we needed for the night. Everytime I thought I was going to have to wait for a beer someone took care of me right away. A must stop place for the history and atmosphere.

I love this place good drinks, good prices. I love the atmosphere here, its a block off of Duval, and it feels like a slower pace.

Nice old school bar off of Duvall. We enjoyed the live band while snacking on free popcorn. The bartenders were attentive and served great drinks! We were only here for 3 hours but met some pretty cool locals as well as other people on vacation like us. We will definitely come back here the next time we’re in Key West!

Yum to frozen mango daqueris on a hot day. Great place to stop at the end of the road... actually, the start of the road, the Florida Scenic Highway, #1. Cool! Friendly staff. Very busy pace and got served quickly! Thanks!

Stopped by for a couple beers on a weekday night in Key West on a recommendation from a friend.The live music was groovy! The bar had plenty of activities, from Darts, to pool, to Golden Tee. Just as an FYI, darts and pool were not available while live music was ongoing.All around, the vibe was immaculate, and this will definitely be a repeat bar spot to visit in the future!

We went to the Green Parrot a few years ago with friends. Very old bar in Key West. Good music all the time. And of course, they have a gift shop.

We stopped in on Sunday. Live jazz music, every football game on a TV (without looking like a sports bar), very chilled atmosphere and an excellent rum runner. I could’ve stayed there all day, but my sweetheart needed to eat. Great bar.

I know it’s a key west staple but there are sooo many better options out there. Rum punch is good, popcorn is good. Beer selection and service at the old town tavern is preferred only in my experience. We all have opinions

For the Green Parrot Bar, its an awesome place, and I love the staff. The popcorn with our drinks (Crazy Lady)( Green Tea Shots)+ accented our drinks, forever the NO SENIVELING Bar!!!!!!Just that all around, hometown bar feel.

Great local place must see in Key West lots of History

Probably the best bar / atmosphere in all of Key West! So glad we stopped in, it was raining so me & my wife decided to grab a drink & wait for the rain to pass. That turned into 4 hours of a great live reggae music , laughs & meeting some great people! What a vibe the Green Parrot 🦜 is! Shout out to Hunter the bartender who made the night even more memorable! If you don’t try the root beer barrel don’t bother saying you’ve been to the Green Parrot! We will certainly be back!

Our favorite bar in Key West when we visited for our first time last week. We happened to be there for their weekly bingo night and it was a riot! Such a great time and felt like a local there.

How do you start a review for the best bar in the US. Fair prices and a great mix of tourist and locals. Make it a point to go to the 5:30PM sound check to see the band playing that night. By the way, turn around and look out towards the street at sound check, you never know what you’ll see.

Great Bar....Great service...This place has been around in some form since 1890. Its a lively place that just feels comfortable. Bonus..Ernest Hemmingway probably had a beer there a few times...when it was a beer barn back in the day. This is my guess. Not a fact but the thought is cool. Drop by the Green Parrot and have a drink....relax....its worth it.

Always a super fun stop. Since were Monday thru Thursday types the Green Parrot is always our Monday evening stop - BINGO for charity. What could be at having a great time while supporting a good cause in the Keys? The staff has always been really hard working and can fill all the orders at the bar even when the place is full.

If you’re diving for local flavor, stop in at the Green Parrot. My favorite part was the little library at the side entrance. Such a breezy atmosphere with local flavor and decor. My friend recommended this for us and she was spot on. Not at all upscale but plenty comfortable.

Love this bar! We have been coming here with each trip over the past 30 years. Make sure you ask about how the parachute came to be….

This was by far our favorite bar while visiting Key West! The live music was top notch and had lots of people dancing — we had so much fun! Very friendly bartenders too and the free popcorn is great. Definitely recommend stopping by!

Favorite bar on Key West, great service, people and atmosphere. Away from the Duval craziness, GREAT Bloody Mary. Also, the “squirrels” are a great addition to the vibe!

Green Parrot in Key West is just a laid-back good time. The service is friendly, and the atmosphere is as easy as a Sunday morning. You might find it a bit crowded, but that kinda adds to the charm. It’s not your fancy cocktail place, and that’s okay. The prices are fair for the Keys. So, if you’re up for a casual, no-frills evening with a bit of a crowd, Green Parrot’s got your back. Just roll with it, and you’ll likely have a chill time.

Love this Key West treasure! Great live music and great drinks. We took our own chairs and sat out on the sidewalk to listen to the Beatles tribute band. Really enjoyed it!

Fun place! They are very strict with masks and you must have a seat to sit in. No standing around allowed.Loved the cutouts at the bar! 🤣😁Weird seeing the band was even set up behind plexiglass. They definitely take C19 seriously!

Veterans with PTSD, take note: I have had a psychiatric service animal for six years and was told my dog was obviously not a service animal at this location. I do not recommend this place for those seeking a relaxed atmosphere.

The place was disgustingly filthy and had a rotten beer stench. We ordered four mixed drinks and was charged $70.00, yes $70.00. The Mai Tai was absolutely disgusting and tasted like dirty water. Served stale popcorn. DO NOT RECOMMEND STOPPING HERE WHEN IN KEY WEST!!!!

Easily the best bar in the Keys.It has been here for so many years and been serving up live tunes and drinks for decades.Check it out.Where the locals drink and the best live music is played.This is no doubt the place you wish you found, until you find it.... then you become a regular.If you are lucky.If you need any gauge of our feel for this, we brought 25-30 friends for a birthday party here.

Every time we go to Key West, we make a stop here around lunchtime. Good crowd and a relaxing atmosphere.

Great example of a Key West bar. Also happened to be the closest bar to our condo, so we visited a few times. Friendly patrons and staff, live music and games. Large space and airy, its got a cool vibe.

Their slogan is, “A Sunny Place for Shady People!” I love it. We came down to Key West to celebrate my birthday, which is also on St. Patrick’s Day. This was an awesome saloon to visit on St. Patrick’s Day and was one of my favorite stops while visiting the Duval Street area. They have live music, pool tables, a gift shop, a liquor store next door, dart boards, fun and vibrant bartenders, a neat jukebox and was just an awesome time. Visiting the Green Parrot is a must, even if it’s for one beer you have to check this place out. It’s conveniently located near Duval St. close to other bars, restaurants and shopping opportunities.

Great drinks, great service, great music = great times! Its a smaller place, especially given the crowd, but everyone is super chill and cool. Definitely worth the stop! One of the best mojitos Ive had in my life. Well, best 5 that is... I will definitely be back!

This is the oldest bar in Key West and is very cool. The bar itself is fairly spacious and drinks were very cheap. There was live music. It was a bit dark for me however. The staff was also very friendly.

This is a really down to earth place with great people! Try the root beer shot! Its interesting :) The decor is fun to look at and there is a lot of history - the people here always have good stories to tell. A great place to listen to some music and have a beer!

Awesome music scene! The live bands brought in every weekend and are top notch and the local performers are always great. The staff is super happy to be there and that clearly translates to the service which is excellent!

Great local bar with plenty of local beers available. The musical talent can oftentimes be great! An Allman Brothers Revue band played there over the weekend.

Warm beer. Sticky floors. Unattractive staff. Possibly the best time you’ll ever have in your entire life. One of thee most iconic dive bars anywhere on earth. You haven’t gone to Key West unless you have gone here. Ask a local for directions not a tourist.

If youre a live music fan, add the Green 🦜 Parrot to the top of your list while in KW. Think of a New Orleans style bar in the heart of the Conch Republic. Bottomless boats of free popcorn are the only nibbles offered. On Sunday, be sure to check out one of the Jazz Jam sets or the final Soundcheck set for the weekend. Be sure to go to the back bar and see BZ - one of the best beerslingers on the island and dont forget to tip him generously!

This is a beautiful place ... not the diviest but a decent dive bar nonetheless. Beers are a little pricey to fully claim the title of dive bar. Im sure Ill be back at least one more time this trip ...

Had to go to Green Parrot! Always have quite a crowd, but bartenders are quick to take care of you. Just one of the bars that have been there forever that you need to visit

Always a 10/10 experience for us at the Parrot. Last night did not fall short. One of our top spots here. Especially for the music 🎶

This bar is known for its live music on most days/evenings. They present different genres so not a place that caters to one style of music. It is open in the sense of having window areas that are expensive for people to stand and listen/watch the music. They have pool tables and some bar games. Drink prices are on the cheaper side for Key West. Service is good with a rectangular bar area in the middle. Free popcorn is very good.

Make sure one your way to Hemingways House or the southern most point of the US to stop at the Green Parrot. Its awesome!!! And for goodness sakes, try a Root Beer Barrel. Worth everything that is Key West. You wont be disappointed.

Awesome dive! We caught a show here the day after Coast is Clear festival and had a blast. They have live music most nights and good selection of drinks and beers. And a popcorn machine!

Great local bar, nothing fancy here, this is a great stop during the day or night. If you are looking to have a cold beer or drink and you want to talk or watch the game. This is your place. At night there are some great bands, very lively and you can have a good time.

This was easily my favorite bar on Key West. Its a locals favorite, and being an honest critic, it is a dive bar, but its the dive bar all other dive bars across the country should aspire to be like. Free Popcorn, great drinks at a fair price, and some of the best live acts that Key West has to offer. This place is always worth a visit.

Not just my favorite bar in Key West, but one of my top 10 nationally! Green Parrot is a reprieve from the crazies on Duval and a sanctuary for the weird and wonderful. Great juke box, but the live music is really what you want to check out. Saw a solid jazz band which was welcome change up from the cover bands that proliferate Key West bars. Easy going staff and regulars to strike conversation with.

Party and party some more. Two nights listening to music and enjoying the eclectic atmosphere. Fair prices great music.

Pop corn is pretty good. Thats the only good served here. It has great music and a local vibe, if thats your cup of tea! My friends love going here, and we take all of our out of town guests. Never disappoints them!

My last stop on the Key West Barmuda challenge after a long day and vacation boozing. It was refreshing after not knowing(because I didn’t read all the flier haha) what I was getting into over at the Half Shell portion of the challenge. Haha . They had a band playing while we were there on a Fri night. Was a great time and bartenders seemed to make sure everyone was constantly taken care of.

This place is a must visit at least for a beer just for the history and vibe. Awesome decor and truly a unique setting. At night the place really comes alive, gets crowded so stop in early or enjoy the live music from the street. The bar tenders are friendly and Id highly recommend Green Parrot to anyone visiting the island.

Had a nice evening after a 30 year break. The place hasnt changed a bit and thats a great thing. Excellent band playing while we were there. The staff was just as great as I remembered. Well worth a visit when in town!

What a cool place. The drinks are fabulous. The lady bartender makes a fantastic daiquiri! The drinks are a really good size. It has a fun atmosphere an a lot of locals hang here so that tells me its a great place. We didnt get any food. The prices are very reasonable.

Walked in there today around noon and took a seat at the bar. I sat there for 10 minutes as two female bartenders discussed their personal problems. Pathetic and comical. I was thirsty for a cold one so I rolled out to another joint down the street.

Its a really cool place to get a drink.
