Me and my best friend had our 58th birthday party at the Red Rooster. We had a blast. All our friends and family truly enjoyed their self. The manager of the club and the staff was so kind and nice to me. Thanks for everything ❤️

We had such a good time when we visited. I really like the two sides of the club. You can party with the younger crowd or the older crowd. The music was great and the DJ kept the party going! I learned a new line dance and hopefully I’ll remember it for next time. The drinks were of good value. Cannot smoke inside the building..

The drinks are strong and not expensive. The music is great and the vibe is all that . One of my favorite spot.

Appreciate where we can go some where... the urban outer(community).Safely, unbothered a acre of access get n where you fitt in available parking. Leave your doors unlockkkkk..... type of feell.Be their when you get back type of feel.Cool vibes.Let the 2 be divided and respected.Dont over cross.Class of.... together we stand (divided )weMikeagain

The place had news paper articles from when they opened in 1972. Only one side is open. I visited on Wednesday for. Coworker party. Never knew how many people go out during the week. Nice band and large dance floor. The age crowd was 40 to 70 y/o. Musick played was R&B, swing out and zydeco tunes. Outside was an expensive food truck. You will enjoy

Came here for the first time. Everything was good until we got to the bar. The lady that worked the bar on 2/17/2024 wearing camo shorts was rude as hell for no reason. This lady needs to be fired! We were just trying to get drinks and she made it seem like we were bothering her. This is why black owned businesses don’t do well. Customer service is pissy poor. This needs to be blasted on all social media!!

Went there this past Saturday bartender on the right hand side of the club had a nasty attitude. I stood there waiting for her to service me I had to ask her are you open. Not to mention the weed smell throughout the club. If looming for a hood spot then this is the place!

Its an old school vibe. Come ready to dance and have good drinks. Atmosphere is definitely a lounge vibe.

No changes that amount up to the some of the caucasian and or the hispanic clubs. The club lights have to stay on so people can be watched. The AC still cant be on I guess to make people buy drinks. I wonder if the club was predominantly white would there be a change. At least the previous owner acted as if he cared....They dont like to turn their air on ..... people be sweating terribly. So sad!!!! Watering down their drinks...Need to do better cleaning and sanitizing. Hire a Mgr that not only cares about your club, but the people that frequent your place.

It’s a Vibe for people ideally between like 35 and up . The two sides was interpersonal and the energy was relax . I joined a celebration there and it was laid back . Would go there if I was of that age and up or there for a family gathering

Please Please do not go to this place. It is a run down dump that plays old music. Everything is outdated. There is no where to sit. I understand that people reserve tables but there is no where for a lady with nice shoes to sit.There is a Hispanic bartender who is very rude. The place didnt have many people at all but the bartender kept telling myself and another to move from by the bar when there was no where to sit. I left the dump immediately. I wish i could give them 0 stars. I do not recommend this place

Went to a show, line was all around the corner and long wait. It was packed for zydeco event. It was lively stage performance was great! Will go back for zydeco events. Show tickets prices vary.

Paid in advance for a table , (had to come up 3 times to make a payment ). Got here for NYE and we had to show proof we purchased a table. He had over booked the tables. The owner then didnt want to refund the money and tried to sell us a bottle of Moet as a reconcile for 50.00 . Nevertheless, they wont see our coins again. We brought in a group of 6 patrons.In the future, have a better system of tracking business.

10/14/2023 There is one bartender at the Original Red Rooster who needs to be removed and replaced. The bartender at the bar on the older/more mature side of the club is very short with dark hair. Hes rude and lacks the understanding of respectful customer service to the predominant culture and clientele/ patrons who support The Original Red Rooster! Hes particularly rude to women, and then solicits help from the doormen and bouncers when his disrespectful treatment of women is rejected. This is very problematic!His behavior is unacceptable and no one is irreplaceable!We will contact the present owners of The Original Red Rooster so that our experience and the experiences of other women who look like us are heard, validated, and supported with a corrective resolve.Disappointed is this clubs treatment of women!

Nice club with 2 different styles of music and dance areas. Drinks are pretty pricey.

I went Wednesday 8/23, had great time. But the white bartender girl charged my card twice. If you use a debit/bank card. Check your statement. I heard this was a problem. And now I know its true. Dispute those double charges yall.

Had a great time and went both nights Friday and Saturday.

I didnt eat food here at the Original Red Rooster, but the drinks were good price during happy hour, and the music was Gr8

Nice spot for a few drinks with friends. Great staff and bartenders. But the club needs a minor makeover & cleanup: new carpet for sure, new furniture. Parking lot pavement needs major repair and lighting upgrade.

This establishment is okay to visit on Wednesday or Saturdays to drink and dance but it’s not cool to have a party here if you want to come in and set up decor prior to your event. The website states they open at 5pm but the workers would not allow me access to set up for a client an hour after the opening time, forcing me to wait until 7pm. Their claim is the promoter booked the client for the venue and not the club. This was not a great experience for me as a vendor and definitely an inconvenience for my client.

I always enjoy myself with great friends. I 💃 until my ♥ is content. The drinks are always on point. Parking isnt as good as I would like. Parking lot seriously need to be repaired too many potholes. Atomshere is always pleasant when Candy from Magic 102 or Funky Larry Jones are there. Opens 5-7 for happy hour but if youre pass this time youre lucky to find seating.

Exactly why I don’t support black businesses at the Red Rooster celebrating my brother enlaw turning 59 walked to DJ booth to request a special song for him he had survived a lot this year and the DJ brushed me off like you rude we bought a section and everything and we can’t request a special shout like are you serious and you don’t even acknowledge me you just shake your head never again but I’m sure if he knew me he would have biased establishment and the dings you have been playing suck most of your customers are AA your Latino a manager spoke with you and you brushed me off do not patronize this establishment it has really gone down hill it’s all about $$

A very good place to go out and have a few drinks and dance if you really enjoy dancing. Excellent DJ, good drinks, good people attend this club. The age group is I would say 40s to 80.

Woooo! I had a good God damn time at this establishment even though it was crowded because the Prairie View homecoming and Halloween combined. Theres a high chance I will return and party all night long especially with good music and black folks who arent scared..

I would say get Riskk or Dj Grief on the other side on Saturdays to get the 40s in there. Ronnie or Chad can promote for a while. Not sure if Chad still promotes. My classmate promotes too Aka Mike Lawrey. I like that the senior citizens get down on the other side. the parking is good compared to 5015, Dreams, Faces, and Swaggers. The drinks are good and very reasonable. I like Red Rooster back in the MLK days. Music is key for 40s and 50s. Old school hip hop and R&B groups. I would suggest some very attractive male and female bartenders on the hip hop right hand side. Let them promote on there social media page. If they are attractive most will come. I no a bar manager. Ms Moss. She promotes wherever she is working. Thanks.

This has always been my favorite spot to enjoy great R&B and old-school music on the Southside of Houston. I love to swing-out and actually dance when I’m out and Red Rooster is the place to get just that.There are two clubs in one, so those that like the more recent rap music can enjoy that on the other side. You get the best of both worlds! 🤗

Nice spot … the down home side is kool but the night club side was goin down ... being from Da A -Town , I felt right at home and the twerk team was doing they ting when that bounce musik came on 🔥

Visited after 3 years..my husband, 2-step partner passed on 2020..Decided to visit old support friend and honor my Birthday..Had a great time...drinks always on point.

They have two sides (one side for the youngins and the other side for the ‘not so young but still like to have a good time’ - so that’s nice. The drinks were to high for them to be that damn weak but overall if you are looking to get out - I guess this is a good place to hang out. My clubbing days are over; I just went to support my friend who was having a birthday party. At 46 years old who wanna still be in the damn club!

Lots of great older people. Im 50 and Ive seen some folks older than me doing AMAZING CHICAGO TWO STEPS. Beautiful atmosphere and lots of great dressers. Men and women. Everyone is polite. I will always visit.

Very nice atmosphere. Just try to get there early if you want to sit down due to happy hour from 5-7 and theres 2 clubs in one. Other than that...drop on in and enjoy the live band on Wednesdays and the great people!!!

This place needs to get it together. It is dirty and the owner/ employees are rude. First of all, it was raining and I had to nearly beg, I guess the owner to let us back the truck in so we could take the food out and not get wet. The floor was nasty, I had to ask them to clean. The mirrors were dirty. You all should clean before opening. Every time I asked this particular employee a question, he had an attitude. They gave me raggedy chafer dishes. The DJ was ok, Ive had better. I will never have a party here again nor, will I be back.

Came with friends to celebrate my birthday. I walked in the door and buffet was almost gone. Cold and salty. So, they served buffet ,too early. I danced once after driving in from Stafford. But I liked being out. Although, the music was inconsistent. Meaning it failed to keep people on floor in the room I was in. They advertised Scott Gurtner was to perform its after 9:00 pm and he isnt up yet! Candy from 102.1 is here, but the room so crowed you cant get in to see what she is talking about or giving away. (Disappointed). Also radio advertised no cover if you arrived before 9:00pm. Got here around 8:45 pm paid a cover. $10.00.

The one time i did go to the new location it was so over crowded you could only stand. The men do ask you to dance and everyone is dressed very nice. So if you go on a Friday night get there as soon as they open or you wont have a seat.I did have a good time!

Found out when we arrived there were numerous parties going on and because of all the parties there were no seats. For a place the size of the facility this should have been planned better. There were food trucks available but the one selling boudin closest to the street stay away from it. My friend is now ill with food poisoning.

Good music, Good food at THE PARTIES, drinks of all kinds and flavors. Real drinks not watered down versions. Beautiful people. Dancers, prancers, and even Rudolph. LOL. Top security; inside and outside the club. Waitstaff, barbacks, bathroom attendants, photographers, flowers, front desk and favors for any and every kind of party. Whew I am out of breath...oh professional management...thoughtful renovations and lighting.

Horrible management/Owners, one older gentleman who claims to be the owner is extremely RUDE!!! As well as the male bartender that usually works close to the rest room area that looks like he is related to The so called owner. The black female bartenders are nice but I will not be returning to spend any of my money there to be treated with disrespect. YOU WANT OUR BLACK MONEY BUT THEN TALK TO US LIKE YOU DESPISE US! AND TELL US IF WE DONT LIKE IT GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!WELL, I SURE WILL SIR!

I lost my key in the club they would not let me back in to find it but I did not give up continued to bang on the door asking over n ovet did some find my key they told me no and I banged once more and a nice police man let me in and I found my key I want two thank him once again and hes the reason for my 5 star Rating I really and truly appreciate his kind act ?

Terrible place to be it stinks after some time the parking is terrible and the owner is jus there to be there. The food truck is terrible chicken is dry and salty if 0 stars were possible thas what theyd get.

Horrible smell and decor, expensive to get in, with high drink prices and ridiculous presentation of drinks, and the largest side of the club was as exciting as receiving a box of toothbrushes on Christmas!

The barbecue ribs were amazing.

They dogged me at the door, they took me for someone else and threw me out the club, they handle this matter very unprofessional, very disappointed. I will tell all my friends not to never go here again.
