Growing up with MJ songs, it was an heart warming experience to see Cirque de Soleil incorporate their skillful ideas and incredible acrobatic with iconic MJ songs and dance moves. To my surprise, it wasn’t 90 minutes, it was an epic 2.5 hours long show covering many many songs of MJ. The show has its high and low moments but the peak moments really gave me goose bumps. At one point they drop real snow on the crowd. At other times performers fly over your head. Simply put a spectacular show to witness. It was really easy to validate the ticket at the entrance, no long lines. There were plenty of booth to buy alcohol, popcorn and lemonade. I liked the pink lemonade a lot, but popcorn was average. They take photos of you in the hallway and inside the theater. You can purchase them after the show. They also have a merchandise store next to the theater, selling iconic MJ swags.
Me and my person/daughter went last night and had soooo much fun. We danced and sang almost every song of Michael Jackson that brought back great memories. The performers did their thing esp the pole dancer she was on fire every scene was geeat. I am 66 and I shouted, clapped, popped my fingers, and sang like I was in my teens. Thank you so much and Big Ups! To Cirque Du Soleil M.J. One we had the best time. Much love
My favorite Cirque show - wondered why it took so long for me to see it. Came for a weekend trip and booked a VIP experience. It was worthwhile to get a behind the scenes look and meet with cast members. Would have chosen a different seat though. Must see for MJ fans - they played all the hits. The show is getting a revamp in Aug 2024 - would return to see the new version.
**If you find my review helpful please click on the LIKE 👍 icon and follow my profile...thank you!**This is my third time watching the show...and it never gets old!! The choreography and special effects are stunning, and the acrobatics are incredible - this is one talented group of performers. Im a huge fan of Michael Jacksons music (his personal life...well, not so much), so this transformation of his music into a little show is deeply satisfying.Ill be sure to go a fourth time, the next time Im in Vegas...you should definitely see it at least once. Trust me, you wont be disappointed!
This is without a doubt one of the best Cirque Du Soleil shows I’ve ever seen! It exceeded all expectations. You don’t have to love Michael Jackson to appreciate the show. The music, dancing, acrobatics, and computer/lighting effects (even real SNOW!) were fantastic. Great for all ages. My sister said they have updated the show since she saw it several years ago, so if you’ve seen it years ago, it would be worth it to see again.
I don’t like the storyline presented. Some of the acrobatics were unrelated to the plot and overly repetitive. Additionally, the sound was too loud. However, seeing glimpses of Michael Jackson was still nostalgic.I think the circus really needs to reconsider the arrangement of the entire show.
If you’ve never been here, I would advise you to Google the phrase Cirque Du Soleil. If you are expecting a MJ impersonator like I was, you will be highly disappointed. Let me get my complaints out the way first.Let’s start with the volume, EXTREMELY LOUD! It was borderline unbearable. I’m not sure if they turned it down a bit after the first scene or if I was partially deaf after that. After I gathered that this was a circus of people dancing to Michael Jackson songs, I began to enjoy it. Then they opened this chest of what I thought was Michael Jackson memorabilia. All of a sudden I noticed there was a human in there and a black man with dreads popped out dancing like Michael Jackson in the most random glittery black outfit. Also, there seemed to be some sort of storyline with the four characters, I’m not sure. The price was outrageous, especially for there to not be a Michael Jackson impersonator at the very least. Also, the photographers are a SCAM! They took my photo, gave me a QR code, told me the pics will be available in a few days and when I scanned it the code led me to some random website that had nothing to do with MJ or my photos. They also tried to sell me 2 books with 2 photos for $175 after the show. Now for the more positive side, the production was high quality. It was high energy, lots of colors, huge props, and even the mixing of the music was amazing. My daughter is a huge Michael Jackson fan and she thoroughly enjoyed herself and that’s all that matters.
Wonderful experience. The show highlighted many of the challenges MJ faced, his artistic vision, and his values, combined with a fun visual experience. Emotionally moving, obviously very theatrical, and technically very impressive.Staff was helpful finding seats, though they were so aggressive in shining flashlights at people attempting to record the show, it was actually more distracting than the people trying to record. One staff member was flickering his light at one point as he sprinted down the aisle. Good air conditioning in the theater on a very hot day (115f).
We had the opportunity to watch the Cirque du Soleil Michael Jackson ONE show at the Mandalay Bay Resort, and were blown away by the spectacular performance. The show is a tribute to the King of Pop, featuring his most iconic songs and imagery, reimagined with stunning acrobatics, dance, and visuals. The show is a feast for the eyes and ears, with state-of-the-art surround sound that makes you feel like you are in the middle of the action. The performers are incredibly talented and energetic, executing amazing feats of acrobatics, aerials, martial arts, and dance. The choreography is faithful to Michael Jacksons style, but also adds a creative twist that showcases the Cirque du Soleils signature flair. The costumes and props are colorful and inventive, capturing the essence of Michael Jacksons personality and legacy. The show also features some special effects that enhance the experience, such as holograms, projections of Michael, pyrotechnics, and incredible acrobatics. The show is a celebration of Michael Jacksons life and music, and a tribute to his fans. It is a must-see for anyone who loves his songs and wants to relive his magic. It is also a great introduction for those who are not familiar with his work, as it showcases his versatility and influence on pop culture. The show is suitable for all ages, as it has something for everyone to enjoy.I highly recommend this show to anyone who is looking for a thrilling and memorable night in Las Vegas. It is one of the best shows I have ever seen, and I would love to see it again. It is truly a one-of-a-kind experience that honors the legend of Michael Jackson.
Best Cirque du Soleil show I have seen. I have seen maybe 6 different shows and Michael Jackson One is absolutely AMAZING. This show is breathtaking and will keep you on your toes. It has a little bit of everything. There are so many little gems from other shows that make an appearance in this show. It also has a strong message. I would suggest keeping an eye on the messages that appear on the actors dressed as paparazzi/ cameras.Keep your eyes on the tabloids that appear on the screens pre show and you might notice something interesting. The funny tabloid articles are actually pictures of current attendees. I was looking around and suddenly i noticed a man who looked just like my husband a d when he popped up again is when i noticed they were in the same clothes and it was him. Such a funny and creative idea to keep the crowd involved.**If you find my review helpful please click on the LIKE 👍 icon and follow my profile...thank you!**
We were looking forward to this show and taking our 8 year old daughter to see it since we introduced MJs music to her. We were all excited to see what Cirque du Soleil would do.What stood out most was how loud this show was, the volume during our 7pm show on Friday 4/26 was ridiculously loud and took away from our enjoyment. All 4 of us struggled to enjoy. Eventually had to stick in my AirPods and our usher for our section (section 203, row MM) noticed me holding our daughters ears and brought us ear plugs (really nice and shows how he was paying attention as this was early on). Once we somewhat managed the volume bit, the show itself was entertaining and music was great but it wasnt what we expected from a Cirque show.
I recently had the incredible opportunity to experience *Michael Jackson ONE* by Cirque du Soleil, and I must say, it was an amazing show from start to finish. The production beautifully blends the magic of Cirque with the timeless music and messages of Michael Jackson, creating a truly unforgettable experience. The storyline was both captivating and poignant, taking the audience on a journey through Michaels life and artistic legacy. I was particularly impressed with how the show incorporated real quotes and moments from Michael himself, allowing us to connect with the man behind the music on a deeper level. It was a powerful reminder of his artistry and the impact he had on the world. One of the most striking elements of the show was the way it addressed the medias portrayal of Michael Jackson. The juxtaposition of his genius against the backdrop of public scrutiny was handled with sensitivity and depth, showcasing the complexities of his life. The incorporation of various media elements made it clear how he was often seen as the bad guy, despite his immense contributions to music and culture. The performances were nothing short of spectacular. The cast brought an electrifying energy to the stage, and the choreography perfectly matched the rhythm and soul of Michaels music. The visuals were stunning, with vibrant costumes and innovative staging that complemented the narrative beautifully. If I had to make one small wish, it would be to hear Rock With You included in the show. It’s such a classic and would have added an extra layer of nostalgia to the experience. However, this minor detail did not detract from the overall brilliance of the production. In conclusion, I highly recommend *Michael Jackson ONE* to anyone looking for an extraordinary night out. Whether youre a lifelong fan of Michael Jackson or new to his music, this show offers something for everyone. Its a celebration of his legacy that will leave you inspired and uplifted. Dont miss the chance to witness this spectacular tribute!
Some people have left nice reviews of this show but I could not be more disappointed. I have seen about every Cirque show in Vegas, and even traveling shows outside of Vegas, but I had never seen this show. I thought it would be a good idea but I was terribly wrong. I brought folks who had never been to Vegas to see this and, honestly, it was awful. Very little acrobatics as one comes to expect with a Cirque show. Even the acrobatics that were done were no where near the level of a typical Cirque show. Just a loud, boring dance show. Even the staging had none of the interest of a typical Cirque theater. No wonder the theater was 1/3 empty on a Sat night. If you just want to hear MJ music and see dancers, perhaps this is OK. If you want to have a Cirque experience, definitely DO NOT attend this show. It was terrible. By far the worse show I have ever seen in Vegas, and I love Vegas shows. Do not go.
I recently fulfilled my long-held dream and attended Cirque du Soleils show The One, and it was simply incredible! From the very beginning, I was immersed in a fantastical world full of magic and magnificent performances. Every act was meticulously crafted, from the complex acrobatic stunts to the stunning costumes and mesmerizing light show. The performers demonstrated incredible physical abilities and agility, and every movement was flawless. The music accompanying the performance was so emotional and captivating that I was literally spellbound, watching everything unfold. The One is a true work of art that combines theater, music, dance, and acrobatics into one grand show. I am convinced that this is the best show Cirque du Soleil has ever produced, and I will be recommending it to all my friends and family. If you have the chance, make sure to see The One – you wont regret it!
We saw this show last night at Mandalay Bay. This was our first vegas show, but we have gone to other Cirque du Soleil shows elsewhere. MJ One was more of a dance show with some small acrobatics. While it was high quality, it didnt feel like a Cirque show. Also, the story line wasnt clear. There were MJ videos playing as part of the show and we found ourselves watching those moreso than the performers. Tons of people arrived late which was distracting as they were seated. We sat near the back row and we still had a great view. 2.5/5.
Absolutely an amazing show. I honestly dont think I have seen a better Cirque du Soleil than this one. Would see this over and over again anytime Im in Vegas. Great venue, great cast, great music, totally enjoyed this! Great job to everyone involved in this performance.
I hate to be that person, but I really feel like I need to get this off my chest! The show itself is a 5 stars for me! The performers, the music, choreography, lights, acrobatics were amazing and I loved every second of it!However I did have to drop a star because of a particular incident and would probably even give it 3 stars, but I dont really want to affect the ratings of the show itself or peoples decision to see the show, so Im giving it 4.Now this is my 3rd time seeing this show, twice last year in April and for the third time this year (last night). I have never had a problem with the ushers or being told not to photograph during the show because I know the rules and will always follow theater/show rules (especially being a previous performer myself). But this 3rd time that I went was the first time I had an usher (didn’t see her name) come up to me (mid show) and tell me not to photograph or video during the show. I politely told the usher that I was not recording and she told me its ok. She said that in a tone where she was trying to get me to fess up or admit something that I didnt do. Now I am the first one to take accountability and apologize when I do something wrong, but the thing is I didnt even have my phone out. My phone was tucked deep into my bag and I hadnt pulled it out since the beginning of the show (which was the only time I had my phone out while in the theater) as soon as the show started I put my phone away. I tried to explain to her, but she walked away before I could. Now I would understand if my phone was out or I was texting and it may have looked like I was recording, but my phone wasnt even out. The only thing I was doing before she walked up to me was clapping right after the end of one of the numbers. I do have a ring on my finger so I dont know if maybe the flashing lights from the show was reflecting off of my ring and made it look like a flash from a phone (the number that had the most flashing bright lights just finished btw), but regardless, if she didnt actually SEE a phone or see me use it she shouldnt have come up to me. Or maybe she even saw someone in front of me or behind me record, but because of all of the commotion of the show she (for whatever reason) assumed it was me. Im really trying to give her the benefit of the doubt, but I couldnt even really enjoy the rest of the show because of how frustrated that made me and also feeling like I was being monitored after that. I just dont like being pinned as a liar when I wasnt lying.Sorry this was so long, but I had randomly and very last minute decided to see this show again on the last day of my trip in Vegas and that was not really a good note to end off on. I just think that the ushers need to actually see a phone or something because thats not ok to just come up to somebody, it ruins the whole experience. This isn’t a huge deal, but being (wrongly) accused is just a nuisance and frustrating especially since it could have led to me getting kicked out.I still recommend everyone see this show because I love MJ and this is one of my favorite shows in Vegas, everything was amazing! This show always inspires me to get back into performing. I would even see it a 4th time even after this incident, I probably wouldnt chose the aisle seat again since thats where I sat this time😅 (you can see my view in the pic of this review which is one of the very few pics I took at all in the theater, all pre-show btw)
The Michael Jackson ONE show is an electrifying extravaganza that takes audiences on a thrilling journey through the iconic music and dance of the King of Pop. From start to finish, the performance is a mesmerizing display of talent, creativity, and pure entertainment. The energy of the show is simply breathtaking, with jaw-dropping choreography, stunning visuals, and of course, Michael Jacksons timeless hits providing the soundtrack to an unforgettable experience. From classic favorites like Thriller and Billie Jean to lesser-known gems, every moment is filled with excitement and exhilaration. However, my enjoyment of the show was somewhat dampened by the presence of some overly enthusiastic audience members seated nearby. Their loud commentary threatened to overshadow the brilliance happening on stage, and at times, it felt like their behavior was on the verge of ruining the experience for everyone around them. While I could have chosen to alert the staff and request that these disruptive individuals be dealt with, I ultimately decided to let it slide. After all, we were all there to have a good time in Vegas, and I didnt want to let a few unruly spectators spoil the evening.Despite this minor inconvenience, the Michael Jackson ONE show still managed to captivate and delight me with its unparalleled spectacle and artistry. Its a testament to the enduring legacy of Michael Jackson and a must-see for any fan of his music or live performance in general.
We went to this show anticipating on seeing a great Cirque du Soleil show. I’ve seen several Cirque du Soleil shows and have enjoyed them immensely. I know what to expect when I see one. This show was incredibly loud with strobe lights constantly flashing in your face. You know this show is going to be loud when you see the ushers passing out earplugs as you enter the venue. Michael Jackson and his music never disappoint but Cirque fell short on this show. The storyline was hard to understand making the premise of the show challenging to follow. The music was about 25% too loud. Cirque needs to rethink this show. It was just too much. Go idea gone a bit awry. Do not bring small children to this show as the level of the sound could damage their ears.
Do not buy tickets in the first 15 rows. We were in the center section, row 3, so I thought we got excellent seats. But a significant part of the show happened directly above us or behind us, so we either missed it or couldn’t get a good view. I would sit at least 20 rows back. The performers were very good. The show itself was just OK, the majority of it had an an “angry” attitude, very noir feeling. I wanted to go enjoy MJ’s music and feel good. It wasn’t that kind of show.
Its a show of MJ music videos. None of the music is live. The performers are not typical amazing Cirque performers. Took my 17 year old and we both thought the performances at his school are better. It was way overpriced for the quality. Was expecting far better considering how many people leave excellent reviews
Horrible experience. I believe the show was great but we could not enjoy it since the air conditioning of the theater was extremely low. We froze despite wearing long pans and a thick sweater. There was no way to get warm. There were people leaving the play in the middle of the show, people watching the show with the hoods on and the guy next to me sitting on his hands to get them warm. We literally froze. IT WAS HORRIBLE!!! And of course, today we are all sick. All this happened last night at @MandalayBay (9pm show).
Wonderful show! Highly recommend. Tastefully done, great tribute to a great artist, the guitar lady they could do without she was super not in to her role in the show everyone else phenomenal work. They do not tell you beforehand that like the entire first half of the show is such intense flashing lights that if you have sensory issues at all or have family with epileptic tendencies or migraines they will have their eyes closed for like 30 minutes. That being said it was beyond enjoyable I’m glad we went I’ve recommended friends and family to go the show is in constant motion for 2 hrs as only cirque can do with such flair! Worth the $69 a ticket and it’s true that there is not a bad seat in this theater don’t bother with expensive tickets no need you will get a great show anywhere in this theater! Go see it!
Another wow Cirque du Soleil performance. I keep going into these thinking it wont be my cup of tea and each time I leave mesmerized. Michael Jackson One was nonstop action and dance choreography set to the music of the legendary Michael Jackson. I always recommend sitting in the front section as it feels like youre part of the action. To top it all off, they even had a MJ hologram. Another must see!
If youre a MJ fan, youll love it. It was interesting that they included songs that arent considered hits but dont worry, they include a lot of the hits we all know. The best seats are not the closest to the stage but at least 15 rows up to get a great panoramic view of the stage. Theres also acts that happen on the side so its easy to miss if youre too close to the stage.
Excellent show overall. However I thought the music/sounds that played at the start of the show and during transition periods between the MJ tracks was far too noisy and unnecessary.I dont mind if the music is loud during the songs but that noise was overwhelming.Only other criticism Id have is the place was freezing cold. I had a shirt on over a T-shirt and I was very cold throughout the show. 🥶Id recommend the show to people definitely but I was very disappointed with how cold the place was.The dancers and other performers were excellent.
Unbelievable! Michael Jackson is definitely not rolling over in his grave his dancingbigtime. This was the greatest show that I have ever seen. Price is up there but if you want to know that you got what you paid for this is the show for you to actually say that was worth it. The cast was just so electrifying and if it wasnt for the behind the scenes crew this would not have worked. Thank you all for making my familys vacation.
You’ll be singing and clapping from the opening note! Wonderful tribute to MJ with the spectacular artistry of the Cirque du Soleil performers. Spanning his expansive musical career with tributes awash in amazing dance performances - including light sequences and rock n roll infusions that are jaw-dropping. This is a Vegas Must-see!!
Okay it has been sometime we saw one of there shows but my god we are super happy we choose to do this one. If you get a chance this is a must do when in town or if it happens to be somewhere else. Make sure you sit in the middle if you are off to the side you can’t see all of the stage . And just remember if you sit right up front you miss the stuff coming from above and behind you. We would say 15 rows back is perfect. But make sure you are in the middle section. They did such a good job with all the dance and everything. We would see this again and recommend to anyone who ask about shows in Vegas
As a huge MJ fan , I was just strolling the Luxor and noticed this show started in 25 minutes, and I was able to get a ticket just over 100 , in the green area (upperarea). The seats were pretty good, I could see the entire show easily, and had zero problem hearing anything (as other reviewers say, its loud lol). Ill say, if you want to get the most immersive experience, sit in the middle section. Not too close or not too far up, youl be in great in the middle! The show falls somewhere between a Circ and MJ tribute, which is to be expected. It runs down a lot of MJs biggest hits, from Ill Be There to You Rock My World and everything in between, and tells a story to loosely Segway the jams. As a huge MJ fan, I did really enjoy it! It was a fun and enjoyable show! An hour and a half flies by whenever listening to MJ, so with some good entertainment to watch along with it, it is a great , quick time! That being said, as a Vegas attraction, twas a bidunderwhelming. At times, it lacked the grand spectacle feeling one comes to expect from a Vegas show. Its biggest issue (I felt) was that it never really gives you the best of either of its identity (as Circ show or an MJ homage)...and thats the part that kept making me feel teased more than anything.Just when the Circ stuff is getting going it at times felt it cut away a dash too soon, pulling you out of any trance or zone you might have been in. And the same on the flip side, meaning when the MJ dance routines start to build, and it feels like theyre about to really start to hit the stride, it almost cuts right before the energy peaks. Right where we know the dance moves to be, it kinda takes a turn and segways... not that its *bad* at all for that, as its artistic to a degree... BUT as a MJ fan, youre anticipating the build up to reach these sharper and more precise choreographed moments, that just dont (always) appear in this show. Sometimes they do and it hits wonderfully (Smooth criminal was superb!) Again, its a hybrid of two , so I get that is what separates it from the other, million MJ tribute shows, but i felt it couldve been executed a tad more in either (or both) departmentsAll the performers seemed to do great, the lighting , effects, etc was good as well.Did I enjoy it? Definitely! Would I go again? probably! Worth it for 100-130? Id say so!Great time, glad to see MJ legacy always respected. R.I.P. to the GOAT(Sn: They definitely keep it cooler in there! I never get cold but did about an hour in! Nothing unbearable but maybe wear light long sleeves)
This show is a watered down version of Cirque du Soleil. It is 5-10% acrobatics: the rest is a fancy light show with props. It’s like watching a live music video. The show is fun but has a fraction of the physical human talent of other Cirque performances. The trapeze artists were all clipped in which limits what they can do. Meh.The seats in the back third of the showroom have terrible visibility since you’re mostly watching dancers on the stage. You can buy cheap seats for the Beatles LOVE show and have amazing views.
Me and my 12yo son saw your show tonight. I asked him what he thought after the show, and he gave it a 9 1/2 out of 10. Lost half a point because of the seats I chose. We have come from Australia and Im glad that I picked this show for us to experience together. Its a few hours after the show, and hes still singing.
July 28, 2024 my daughter Christi and I had the most amazing personal experience at the Michael Jackson ONE show at Mandalay Bay Las Vegas. My daughter, is A faithful Michael Jackson fan and a very charming, enthusiastic young woman with Down Syndrome. She had been looking forward to this show for quite some time. We came to Las Vegas specifically for the show for her birthday! (BTW…she announced that it was her birthday to every usher and staff person because she was so excited. She also announced to everyone that she wanted to sit in the front in spite of the fact that we had tickets in the middle of the theater)Though I expected that she would have a marvelous time, Our experience far exceeded our expectations.Maffel and Kyle were so kind to Christi.! Mafdel realized that a couple in the front row were not comfortable being so close and because Christi had an announced her desire to sit in the front they accommodated and allowed her to sit in the front! Wow, that generous and kind couple traded seats with us!!What a great experience, right? But no, they were not done yet. They had one of the dancers come and dance with Christi in the aisle. You guys made a memory for a lifetime for Miss Christi.I’ve been talking a lot about the experience, but haven’t mentioned the show…yet! The show was amazing! Talented, enthusiastic, dedicated dancers, acrobats, and musicians. The light show aspect was beautiful and engaging We would’ve had the experience of a lifetime without all the special attention!!If you’re considering going, I say GO… It is completely worth it.And for our family,, Maffel and Kyle will always be in our hearts as generous, kind, new friends thank you thank you
Michael Jackson ONE Cirque du Soleil is an electrifying fusion of music, dance, and acrobatics that pays tribute to the legendary King of Pop in the most spectacular way imaginable. From the moment the curtains rise, audiences are transported into a world of mesmerizing performances, dazzling visuals, and unforgettable hits that capture the essence of Michael Jacksons iconic legacy. The choreography is simply breathtaking, seamlessly blending the signature moves of Michael Jackson with the awe-inspiring athleticism of the Cirque du Soleil performers. Each dance number is executed with precision and passion, leaving the audience in awe of the sheer talent on display. The production design is equally impressive, with stunning sets, vibrant costumes, and innovative stage effects that create a truly immersive experience.Whether its the gravity-defying aerial stunts or the pulsating rhythm of the music, every moment of Michael Jackson ONE is a feast for the senses. But perhaps the most remarkable aspect of the show is its ability to capture the spirit of Michael Jackson himself.Through the music and the performances, audiences are reminded of his unparalleled impact on the world of music and entertainment, and the enduring legacy he left behind.Overall, Michael Jackson ONE Cirque du Soleil is a must-see for fans of Michael Jackson and lovers of spectacular live entertainment alike. Its a celebration of music, dance, and the indomitable spirit of one of the greatest performers of all time.
I hated this show. The acrobatics are barely visible and half of them take place in the wings. Its a music and dance show, and not a good dance show at that. The lady hanging from the ceiling above the audience mostly just sat there. So sad that Love has closed and this still exists. Also, the seats are so uncomfortable
I have seen 3 Cirque du Soleil shows and Michael Jackson One is the best so far. My first 2 Cirque du Soleil shows I saw I honestly had a hard time staying engaged and staying awake, but One was the polar opposite. Regardless if you are a Michael Jackson fan, the show is very engaging and entertaining. If you are a fan you will be moving in your seat and singing to yourself most of the show. If you decide to see a Cirque du Soleil, make it The One, its an incredible show.
Saw the show last night 3/7/24 @ 9:30 with 4 other people and the cost was ridiculous but we were hopeful about the show being great. The show was fine at best. Songs presented in a random order. No connection to the 4 main characters. We enjoyed listening to the songs and the images of Micheal. I think the hype is just that, hype. We decided to have a great time singing and hanging out together. Our seats were ADA accessible and that was good. The folk in the theater were very helpful and kind. See the show and enjoy the music. The sales team in the store was AWFUL!Bought 4 shirts as gifts and asked them to bag each separately in the plastic bags. After I paid, the man at the register told me that I could only get 1 bag ! I watched them give separate plastic bags to All the white customers. I asked for the manager . She actually came out to support the lies and discrimination by saying the person giving all the white people bags as requested was in TRAINING .I’m so exhausted from dealing with companies allowing these people with obvious prejudices to remain in positions to demonstrate their Perceived position of power. The other customers could see and agreed with us.Any good feelings about the show were ruined by this hateful encounter. I’ve given the date and time so that someone in charge can actually know who those people are and DO SOMETHING about them.I don’t want some brush off I’d like a real action. How much longer do you expect your company to thrive with folk like that representing YOU?
Loved it, Loved it being a MJ fan and going to this show felt like going to a concert especially when they played his hologram dance video. It was an amazing night it’s a must go show on the strip if you are MJ fan even if your are not a fan I would say you must still go it’s well worth the money trust me. Definitely will be back if the show is still going on.
The show was hard to follow but overall it was great! In my opinion the transition between songs did not flow and the timeline was all over the place. The dancers did great job and the hologram at the end brought me to tears.
The volume of the recorded music was ear busting. Dont go if you have ear problems. Like many Cirque shows the theme was unfathomable. There was a women in a chair that would occassionally fly overhead, why, who knows. Then there was another performer who featured regularly pretending to play a guitar. The point was lost on me as was most of the show. There were good moments but not enough to compensate for the ear shattering sound. Everything was mimed. Too many videos. It was a poor homage to Jackson. Jersy Boys did it much better and without trying to damage your hearing.
Smiled and sang the entire time! I really liked that this had more dance choreography than other Cirque shows. There was still acrobatics, but the dancing was most memorable. Also appreciated that they kept the songs intact for the most part; you could sing along without worrying about the song being wildly manipulated. The only reasons for the 4/5 is that we noticed cast members breaking character when they were walking through the audience or not being featured. Sometimes they’d be whispering to one another or not smiling or not really engaged with the show. That was a little distracting. Also, the choreography was fantastic, but not as perfectly synched as you’d expect for a top-tier Vegas show (at $200+).All in all, I am so happy I went and will likely return with family.
Super extravagant. Worth every penny to see this. If you even remotely like Michael Jackson you will love this. The best show I’ve seen on Vegas so far.
WOW! This is just pure, in your face,(watch my video),Vegas entertainment! WOW! The Hologram MJ dancing will blow your mind, then youll cry. The range of emotions felt during the show was incredible and worth every damn dollar we paid. The acrobatics, the ropes, the dancing, the SOUND system will rock your world and you can actually FEEL the music resonate through you. The energy in the crowd felt like a Baptist Church with Choir. The feedback and reactions from the crowd just amplified it all. No one was sitting still, no matter the age. WOW! This was so much fun, we will be back for sure. You must go if your planning a trip to the Strip!
I don’t usually do reviews but I feel I need to on this one. Please don’t waste your money on this show. So many reasons why. The story line was ridiculous, hardly any real cirque du soleil work, choreography was not good. Michael Jackson had so much good material to work with and they used quite a few of his unknown work, really botched up so much. Wasted so much time just walking around the stage instead of engaging the audience. Cheap costumes. Music was so loud in this small theater it was over the top.Overall very disappointing and wish I could get my money back if possible.
My husband and our best friends went to see “MJ One” last night. It took the iconic music of Michael Jackson and elevated it even more. The performers were incredibly talented, and they paid tribute to Michael Jackson in an exciting and heart stopping way. Well done guys! If I lived closer, I would bring everyone I know to your show. If you are going to Vegas, “MJ One,” at Mandalay Bay, is a must see!
This show was absolutely amazing!! Worth every penny! Louder than we expected but it was still amazing! Our kids loved it and were very entertained. The staff was perfectly wonderful in every aspect. Scanning tickets was easy. Finding out seats was easy. They offered our kids earplugs and cushions to sit on. Loved our experience!
Saw this show years ago and went again this year. Overall I enjoyed the show the major issue is the resolution of the videos of Michael Jackson. The resolution of videos projected on the stage seem outdated compared to crystal clear resolution we see everyday in various entertainment platforms. I would have thought they would have been upgraded since my first my first viewing but unfortunately as far as the videos they have not.
I am not usually a review person but this had to be shared. The Michael Jackson One show in Vegas us not worth your money. Nothing comes together, the dancers can’t dance, the storyline is confusing and dark, and the music is loud and erratic. Add to that the fact that they only play a few of his well known songs i had a hard time staying in my seat. If I wasn’t in the middle of the row i would have walked out.It was honestly an awful show, which us surprising for this kind of performance. If you have a choice between this and Beatles Love there is no question see the Love show.I honestly think the MJ One show should stop running and reevaluate what they are trying to say with the theme and take a close look at the quality of the whole performance. I mean its Michael Jackson music it should be a celebration. Very disappointing
This is the best Cirque du Soleil show Ive been too. The performers were amazing and entertaining. They played all of Michaels hits, everyone was moving to the beat in their seats. If you havent been to a Cirque du Soleil show yet, this is definitely the One to go to, its money well spent! The only thing that bothered me is that they allowed people to come in late, up to 15-20 minutes late. It was very distracting. They need to start closing doors 5 minutes before the show.
The storyline of the show was really interesting, and all of Michael Jacksons hits were part of the show. A+ there. But if youre really excited to see visually stunning costumes and a quirky Cirque show, this isnt it. Its mostly hip hop dancing with a few stunts and illusions, which were very entertaining. But it didnt have the tongue and cheek comedy or circus feel to it that a lot of other Cirque shows have. It was also really, really loud (like live concert loud) and if I were to go again, Id bring ear plugs. If you really love Michael Jackson and dont care much about the Cirque name being on it, this show is definitely for you.
All Michael Jackson Fans…this is an absolute must!!! If/When in Las Vegas, you will get your 90 minutes worth of Michael, almost an overload. It is overwhelming, exciting, emotional & thought provoking! The gift shop and displays outside of the theater gives all the feels needed to have a great time remembering the man & his music! 🎶♥️🔥
So good that I shed tears... the best Michael Jackson snow I have ever seen. Played all the best music, did all the right things. I highly recommend this show to anyone coming to Vegas. Everything about it was amazing. All the performers were perfectly executing everything to the highest professional level.I wouldn’t have changed a thing. Thank you so much for doing MJ right. I loved it from start to finish.
Absolutely mind blown!!! My wife and I loved every minute of it! The amount of talent in one building is off the charts, and when paired with Michael Jackson is unbelievable!! The seat upgrade from Chase as well topped off our Vegas anniversary trip. Thank you so much.
I was so excited for this show, and am sad to say that I was disappointed. I have been to many Cirque shows in Las Vegas and this was my least favorite. Overall, underwhelming and uncomfortably loud.
I thought the show was fabulous. The song choices the scenes on the screen the acrobats everything was amazing. Does anybody know what that first song was in the opening? I didn’t recognize it. I’d love to know the name of it and how I could get it.
The venue is very nice and the seats are comfortable. The views of the stage were very good from where we sat. The performances were amazing. It was absolutely mind blowing! The dancers and acrobats are so talented. All the classic Michael Jackson songs covered with great skill and precision. Some aspects of the performance will leave you speechless! If you get a chance when in Vegas definitely go and see this performance. Highly recommended!
The best word to describe this show is... Lame! Waste of money that Ill never get back. We picked this show based on the reviews, so maybe I was expecting something fantastic like other Cirq shows. The show got a little better half way through, the best part being when it ended. Wouldnt recommend .
This show has amazing dancers and music. The theater is small, and every seat is great.
Highly entertaining show. The nonstop pace of acts is beyond impressive; if anything, you’ll walk out overstimulated by all of the light and sound. I had expected more cohesive storytelling about the life of Michael Jackson, but this is more of a circus act that revolves around Michael Jackson’s music. There was a little bit of whiplash between exploration of deeper topics and slapstick humor. The guitar player seemed a bit disconnected. Generally, a great show, and a must see for Michael Jackson fans.
Absolutely amazing show. I have now seen it 5 times since 2013. Highly recommend it,, U wont be disappointed! Use your MLife Players card & get 20% discount on tix! The following pix are from the MJ One Boutique which is every fans dream store... especially if ur a collector of MJ memorabilia like myself.
We went last night and the show was phenomenal! Great choreography and well thought out performances. Would definitely go back and see it again.
I really thought this was going to be my favorite cirque show (I LOVE MJ), but the reviewer below is right, it’s not your typical cirque show. The emphasis is more on the music and dance, less the stunts. It was WAY too loud, we had ear ringing for the following week afterwards. Maybe I’m dense but I didn’t understand some of the “artsy” stuff like the newspaper headlines on the side screens.
If I could give zero stars I would. Do yourself a favor and sort by all of the one star reviews. A complete waste of $150. This is the worst show I have ever seen! I am a huge Michael Jackson fan. Storyline confusing - what were the 4 stumbling comedic actors, or the girl playing the guitar? Boring snooze fest, longest 90 minutes ever, kept looking at my watch! Cant believe this was a Cirque show.
Michael Jackson One at Mandalay Bay is an electrifying tribute to the King of Pop. The show is a must-see, blending incredible performances with an amazing atmosphere that transports you into the world of Michael Jackson. From the stunning visuals to the flawless execution of MJs hits, every moment is a thrill. Its a paradise for any Michael Jackson fan, offering a unique experience that celebrates his legacy in true Vegas style. The energy, talent, and creativity make it more than just a show—its an unforgettable journey through the music and spirit of Michael Jackson. Highly recommended!
I thought the “Michael Jackson-ish” part of the show was better than the “Cirque du Soleil” part of the show. I’ve been to about 3 or 4 Cirque shows and this one was a little weak on the acrobatics. But overall, really good show.
Being a huge fan of Michael Jackson, I was really excited to watch Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil. Imagine an extraordinary fusion of acrobatics, dance and visuals to MJs greatest hits! Its no wonder Rolling Stone described it as “A virtual parade of ‘wow’ moments. I truly felt MJs spirit. We we were in awe, we clapped, and we danced! One of the highlights of our Labor Day Weekend trip and will absolutely watch again in a heartbeat! Dont miss this if youre ever in Vegas! 🤩👏🏻♥️
Great show! We luckily got a free seat upgrade which got us closer to the stage. Good mix of music, dancing, and cir us acts and memorializing Michael
I had no expectations for the show because I didnt really know what to think that it might be about other than Michael Jackson obviously. The show was amazing we loved every part of it. There was never a dull moment and the energy of the performers was extremely high. It not like a concert per se its more of an all around act with music, acrobatics, skits, lights, dancing and much more. I suggest if you want to see a great show and you are MJ fan then its worth getting a ticket. There is a gift shop for buying a souvenir and they have a photographer that can take a professional photo that you can purchase after the show. They also offer a bar with snack and drinks to have during for the show.
Michael Jackson ONE was amazing. It’s a great fusion of Cirque du Solei with music from Michael Jackson. I came with the wrong impression that there would be a Michael Jackson impersonator, so I was waiting for Michael to come out. After 30 mins, I realized there probably wasn’t going to be any Michael in the show. It’s a bit disappointment but still a great performance from the rest of the crew.
OMG if you are a fan of the unforgettable Michael Jackson this is the show that you can not miss if you are in Vegas impressive imitation of the artists you feel the very presence of Michael. Incredible, I recommend them, it’s amazing.
This show was HORRIBLY loud to the point of unenjoyment. As soon as it began, I covered my ears. It was so uncomfortable, and I shared the same expressions as my parents in pain. Thankfully I was able to use my dads noise-cancelling ear buds, but even then I felt that I needed a pair of Sony headphones on top of those to actually like the show. The performance was okay, but definitely not good enough to make up for the volume. If we wouldnt have paid so much for it, we would have left. If I could have given this zero stars, I wouldve. Want to save your ears? DONT COME!
I read many mixed reviews about this show. Either about it being awesome or not good due to complaints about the loud sound or not being the real cirque du soleil performance. However, I decided to take a shot anyway and see for myself. First, I have to acknowledge that the sound was a bit loud but was nothing unbearable. Maybe if you have kids, they would need earplugs. But definitely not a negative point for adults unless you are very sensitive to loud sound. Second, the show was fantastic. Absolutely loved every second of the show. The music, dance, and acrobatics were awesome. The MJ songs paired with the performances were brilliant. It kept you entertained for the entire show. The crew is so talented and the price you pay is definitely worth the effort that goes into this performance. This was an hour and a half show which stared promptly at 9:30 pm and finished at 11 pm. Would highly highly recommend if you are looking to watch a fantastic show.
I am amazed by the talent of the performers and the staff are very accommodating and friendly. I was singing along to every song and there were even a few I didnt expect and Im a hardcore Michael fan. 100% would see againI also think Michael would love this show!!!!
Cirque du Soleil puts on a great performance, as always! The music from Michael Jacksons life is legendary and it was incredible to watch the choreography and acrobatics they used along with his music. The holographic image of Michael Jackson was so awesome! No one will ever dance just like him! Thank you for the lovely show and the trip down memory lane.
The worst Cirque I have seen. Barely a Cirque. A total mess of a show butchering the songs, cheap cheap outfits, and a storyline which had nothing to do with MJ and incomprehensible. BUT worst of all they had a section highlighting MJs view of children and his committment to their happiness. Given what we now know that was tone deaf and absolutely awful decision to include. This show damages the Cirque brand so much.
I just saw the show for a second time and I’m still blown away by how amazing it was! The music was amazing of course but the performers were phenomenal!
The show was an experience of a lifetime that sent chills through my skin. The choreography was best in class and I could see it again and again. Couldn’t ask for a better performance.
Enjoyed the music and performance. Show was a nice tribute. Artistry was amazing. Each song was a differrnt artistic theme- acrobatics, magic etc.. I recommend getting seats that are in the middle of the theater, as central as possible. The show has a symmetrical presentation so when sitting toward the side, one ends up swiveling around to see everything. Make sure to arrive early - to both find the theater and ensure you are seated when the show actually starts.
Probably one of the worse shows on the strip, not worth the trip to the Mandalay Bay.No storyline, how do you mess it up this badly when u can just follow MJ’s music videosThe four main character have no stage presence and are atrocious performersAmateur choreography and stunts, I’ve seen better from high schoolersUnreasonably and unnecessarily loud, like why??Probably less than 4 minutes of “oh that’s pretty neat” momentsSurprisingly the Mad Max guitar player (how does this relate to mj anyways?) was one of the only standout things about thisI do not understand the positive reviews
I wouldn’t necessarily have chosen this show on my own, but a trusted friend spoke so highly of it that we gave it a try and were incredibly impressed! I’ve seen several Cirque du Soleil shows since the start of Mystère, and this one had quite a few surprises! There’s more dancing than the other shows as expected and still a lot of impressive visuals and acrobatics. I’m told it’s evolved over time as well, so people have enjoyed revisiting it after a couple years. We booked a show package with Mandalay Bay and had fantastic seats on a Sunday evening. We forgot to pick up our tickets at Will Call four hours in advance as instructed, but all was well an hour before showtime.
Ive been to Las Vegas a few times and when I do I like to see shows that I havent seen yet. I like Michael Jacksons music so I thought I should see Michael Jackson One by Cirque du Soleil. I gave it a shot and did not care for it. It started off with guys climbing over people in their seats almost hitting my Dad in the head. He wasnt too happy about that. Then the show began. They played the hits and had some singing moments, but there was not much Cirque involved other than jumping around. I kept wondering when it was going to be over. Not a show I would recommend when visiting Las Vegas.
This show is incredible. It was so much fun and I really liked the Cirque du Soleil style choreography. Even if youre not a huge Michael Jackson fan, I truly believe youll still like this show.Transitions were very natural, seamless and sometimes you didnt even know it happened. The many different portrayals of MJ were all spot on. The backup choreography left you awestruck. If youve never been to a Cirque du Soleil show, this would be a good one to try out.
That was a great show! The visualizations and effects were incredible. I highly recommend it to everyone who loves Michael Jackson. Im not the biggest fan, but I knew some of the songs, so yeah, it was definitely worth it. Its also okay if you opt for cheaper tickets. We paid $405 and were seated in the front row. Sitting further back is fine too since the venue isnt very big. Dont think that cheaper tickets mean youll get a lesser experience. Also, make sure to arrive on time as it starts promptly. We got stuck in traffic for 45 minutes, and our hotel was only 2.5 miles away from Caesars Palace. Despite that, it was absolutely worth it!
We went with a group. We liked Michael Jackson but not super fans or anything. Show was a disappointment. Part of it made no sense. Ie the characters they brought in which had nothing to do with MJ. They also picked a bunch of his really dark songs and left out a bunch of popular ones. Love cirque. Really enjoyed Love. But they dropped the ball on this one.
Overall, it was a great. It reminded me of how great Michael really was! There were some surprises that were definitely cool. The only negative was the plot line. It was very confusing, but it came together in the end...kind of. There was a surprise at the end that I did love!
I am such a huge Michael Jackson fan and I can tell you how disappointing this show was. This was an over priced glorified high school musical. The dancers were uncoordinated and had nothing special or unique to MJ except to dancing to his music. No signature movies or acrobatics which is surprising since it is a circle du soleil show. The music was god awful loud that I had to request ear plugs from the usher. I had high hopes but this wasn’t it.
I was a little disappointed. Sat fourth row. It was a good show but at times I was getting cruise ship vibes. This was my 2nd cirque du soleil show. The first one was O and my expectations were so high. Still had a great time and of course enjoyed the music of MJ. Would have paid for cheaper seating because honestly anywhere in this venue would have been fine.
I was really looking forward to this show since I am such a MJ fan. It was weird! The lady in the moon dropping down constantly was bizarre. No story to follow. Random stuff happening with some dancers running around the stage. My son looked at me and said “ did someone roofie my drink?, this is making zero sense.
I loved this show and will see it again it was amazing. I had a fun time listening to all my favorite songs by MJ
A wonderful experience. The storyline was so great, I loved the spirit of Michael subtly helping the teens along. What happens with the four items finally get together made me cry.
Great show, great performers, great tribute! We had seats about midway up and thought these were the BEST seats. Do not sit any closer as you miss a good amount of the show. Performers use the isle ways, walls, and ceilings so the closer you sit, the more you miss. But, you don’t want to miss this show!
Don’t miss that One !Such a great gesture and contribution for the legendary Michael Jackson. He was an artist with all of his heart, a talent, a beautiful soul, a dancer, a singer, a writer, a donator, a philanthropist, a LEGEND. This show is a great way to continue living the spirit and the music of Michael Jackson and you should definitely be a part of this experience.
Just loved this. I cant see there being a better show in Vegas in entertainment or $$.Simply a must and a fitting tribute 👏
This show was awful. I have seen almost every show in vegas. This was one of my last cirque shows I havnt watched along w Beatles. Wow I really need my time and money back for this one. If you have ever seen awakening at wynn this is on par w that. Amazing stage but lack of talent. Lack of wow factor. If youre a vegas snob this one sucks. If ur a out of towner not from ca, this is a fine show for you.
Great show and good theater. Reason for 4 stars is because the tickets didn’t count towards MGM reward points because I was at Aria. I still booked it from my MGM account.
I found this to be underwhelming, especially in comparison with their Beatles show down the street. The scenes didn’t make sense, the dancing wasn’t very sharp, and some of the costumes looked they they came from the wizard of oz.
Not great. Had high expectations after seeing Beatles LOVE on last trip ( which was BEYOND expectations). This shows stage was much smaller, and entire show was lacking. Seemed like no storyline, a jumbled mess. Dancing wasnt great, nor was the acrobatics that were less than exciting. Of course the music was awesome, and loved the one hologram in the show. The late arrivals were very disruptive to show, a good 30 minutes into show people still arriving and being seated. Do not recommend.
This was my first time seeing a Cirque show and it was absolutely amazing. The tickets are not cheap, but I feel that they are worth it. We sat in the middle section, row G and I felt that the seats were perfect. We were able to see everything on stage very clearly and it was fun to see all the action directly above us as well as in the aisle. If you enjoy Michael Jackson’s music, even if you aren’t a huge fan I recommend you see this show. You won’t be disappointed.
I wanted so much to like this.I paid a lot of money for the expectation of the show being mind-blowing. It was very well put together, but seemed like a bunch of skits that were very loosely tied together.Like what you see at a theme park but with extremely high production value.Talented cast and crew, but I didnt like it. Im sure Im in the large minority here.
This was a very interesting show. It could have easily went on for another hour, and I wouldn’t have cared. Great collection of songs played. We didn’t understand some of the extra characters but still entertaining. We ordered the cheapest seats and still had a great view, plus we were able to exit quickly (had we wanted to). Also btw, if seeing it in Vegas at Mandalay Bay-park in VALET at the DELANO HOTEL-it’s much, much easier to enter the auditorium where the show is being held. Overall, I recommend.
So far my absolute favourite cirque du soleil show. Box office staff are so friendly and helpful. At the venue they offer to take photos on your phone unlike some other places that only want your money. The staff here are amazing. This show is amazing, the performers come into that aisles and are just mesmerising in their stunning costumes. Their acrobatics are brilliant and the whole show is spectacular and emotional. Any Michael Jackson fans will love this show. Lots of photo ops in that hotel also. You can’t take photos during the show but you can take your own drinks in and buy at the bar. If you go see the show you will have a great time. Definitely so far the best cirque du soleil show for me in vegas closely followed by Beatles love. The staff and performers should keep doing what they are doing, just amazing thank you for a magical evening.
I didn’t know what to expect bc of the mixed reviews but it was an AMAZING show! I don’t understand the people that said the show was too loud and too political. First of all, it’s Michael Jackson’s best songs!! Those could never be too loud. Secondly, “They Don’t Care About US” IS a political song sooooo yea. I don’t know why people complained about that. One little glitch did happen, technical difficulties toward the end that paused the show for about 10 minutes. Perfect bathroom break for us so it was cool lol. Someone in my group had been to 3 other Cirque shows and said this one was her favorite. Don’t leave Vegas without seeing this!
The show was great. Lots of acrobatics along with the music. No pictures were allowed. Thats the part that I didnt understand..
Amazing show! Booked last minute and it did not disappoint! You can’t go wrong with cirque du soleil. This tribute hits right at the heart, almost makes you cry from nostalgia. Amazing performance!!!
*I think most of the 5 star reviews are fake*This had to of been the worst Cirque du Soleil show I have ever been to. Between my wife and I this would be our ninth or 10th show, and this is by far the worst one we have ever attended. First of all the audio was 10,000 decimals too high, and there was no acrobatic movements from the cast. It was all dancing that my middle school talent show could have produced. It was sad to see cirque du Soleil put on such a poor performance and charge such high prices. I do not recommend this show for anybody. 0/5
More dance than acrobat, still had some amazing acrobats. Magical show and would recommend seeing it.
I grew up with Michael Jackson and was a big fan and I have to say this is not a good show. It’s very boring and hard to follow a weak story line. I enjoyed Americas Got Talent show much more. My wife also had high expectations and she was disappointed and she never says anything bad about anything.
Imy daughter wanted to watch this show. I didnt think I would like it but it was actually pretty good my wife thought so too. Recommended
It’s was ok. Dancers dancing around and singing MJ song. Just it ! Nothing special. I missed cirque Soleil performing.
Too much dancing and lack of acrobatics. Really good special effects and acrobats. Honestly, I have seen better Cirque du Soleil shows although it isn’t bad.It shouldn’t be allowed to let people get in 20 minutes after the show has started because they make the whole line to stand up and disturb everybody else behind them.
I thought this show was FANTASTIC! Im kinda amazed at the wide range of reviews, then again if youre not an MJ fan, maybe this isnt your thing.I had no problem with the recorded tracks or volume. i prefer to hear the original music. The creativity is in the performance. I didnt expect perfect dance moves, because there is only one Michael. However, the dancing is still great. There was one dancer with only one leg and he blew my mind! He was incredible!! I also didnt understand the story as many have said, but it didnt take anything away from the show at all.I usually prefer his upbeat songs, but i found the slower songs to be done so beautifully I was moved. I enjoyed the entire show but especially loved Billie Jean with a completely black stage and just the neon outline of multiple dancers lighting up at different times. And as a bigger MJ fan than the average person, I LOVED the hologram of Michael during Man in the Mirror. I teared up since I was never able to actually see him perform in person. Its the closest Ill ever get. And the mashup off Human Nature with Never Can Say Goodbye was nothing short of awesome!I live on the east coast but am already planning another trip to Vegas just to see this show again. If youre an MJ fan, you will not regret checking this out! I cant get this show outta my head. Nothing but love here!

Wow, disappointed. The show was extremely heavy on pyrotechnics, lasers, beam splitters, fog, smoke, snow cannons, scrolling LED signs, and every other theatrical gimmick. The theater itself is gorgeous. Every seat has a good view. I paid $215 for a very decent seat, but not even the very best. My main disappointment was that I couldn’t follow any storyline. The storyline is usually the strength of every Cirque du Soleil show. I honestly could not figure out why actors were riding around stage on one-wheels, why actors were swinging down from the rafters, why a glam rock guitarist came out repeatedly (sometimes shooting pyrotechnics from the guitar), why the recurring characters changed in number. (Sometimes they were a group of 4, then 5, then 6, then 2.) The straight-down overhead sound was quite loud and did not seem to be coming from the stage. Thus the lip syncs were not believable. One entire number was a screen projection (pre-recorded movie) of shadow dancers. To see this in a Cirque production shocked me. One highlight of the show: a disabled dancer was given a featured role. Very nice!!! Overall, the audience’s response was tepid, with the exception of a gifted solo dancer who performed thrilling moonwalks in Human Nature. Another number that impressed me had choreography similar to Cellblock Tango (Chicago.) Unfortunately, most of the numbers reminded me of disconnected rhythmic gymnastics. Most of these flaws could be forgiven or embraced if they were conveying a storyline along an emotional arc. 2 stars is as kind as I can be; I recognize the efforts and abilities of the performers. That includes the technical staff, who had to manage a plethora of special effects.
Whatever this is - this is not Cirque del Solei. If you saw Beatles or O and expect this to be anything remotely close to this level - a huge disappointed awaits. No original dances, zero acrobatics. This is a reenactment of Michael’s music videos with OK level dancers (definitely not up to Cirque’s usual standards). More of a college dance level final play, rather than a $200+ a pop show.Lights, video and shadow theater portions are ok. If you are ok with this - go. Otherwise see O for the second time.
For an average Cirque performance it good. For a MJ performance, NO, NO, NO! They had a hologram and an impersonator for a couple brief moments. I you want to see a good MJ show, this is not it! For the price, there are many other AWESOME shows you can see! Prince and MJ at the Tropicana are where its at!
Show was paused for over 25 min. The Cirque staff told us to leave and gave us a card to get a refund. But no refund was given.Update: they told me they would give me complimentary tickets. Im trying to claim them now but no response from phone or email. Absolutely terrible customer service
My friends and I went to go see this show in February 2022 and we were greatly disappointed! This show was not a tribute to Michael Jackson at all! The show was mostly dancing and there was not a lot of acrobatic moves which you would expect from a show by Cirque du Soleil. The dancers did not dance in sync with one another and they danced as if they were tired. The dancers wore the same outfit for almost nearly every song with only a few costume changes. The songs were not properly sequenced and out of order. Even for the song Thriller the jackets were poorly designed and the zombies looked more like mummies. It was truly disappointing that the showed failed to perform the most popular song MJ created which was Thriller. They also added weird characters to the show like an anime girl with a sword and a boy with a suitcase which did not make sense at all. Even for the song Scream they added werewolves in the song that did not exist, they only added the werewolves to transition to the song Thriller which was so predictable. The weird characters added made the show feel like a high school play instead a professional tribute to one of the greatest entertainers that has ever lived. Even the screen that appeared before the show began had news articles with strange headlines which was not needed at all. Since this show is a tribute you would think they would have pictures of MJ from when he was a child and throughout his career. There was a hologram of MJ in the end which was really cool to see but besides that my friends and I were not impressed at all. The creative director of this show did a terrible job creating this show. This show is supposed to be a TRIBUTE to Michael Jackson but it just looked like a high school musical. If you are a TRUE Michael Jackson fan and you are expecting a real tribute, which would contain elements from previous tours enhanced with acrobatic moves from Cirque du Soleil, you will leave greatly disappointed and unimpressed. This show was NOT a TRIBUTE but an INSULT!!
MIND BLOWING. I cannot say enough about this show. The combination of live & recorded music, visual effects, live acrobatics, dancing, and best of all, Michaels music, create an unbelievable, unforgettable experience that I wish I could see every day. But, as an audio nerd and MJ fan, I have to specifically call out Kevin Antunes and his masterful work on the soundtrack. He took the master recordings of some of Michaels best work and somehow figured out how to make it BETTER. The songs came to life in that theater in a way that literally shocked me. I heard them in a way that all the familiarity was there, but I was experiencing them for the first time. Kevin Antunes is a wizard. In short, go see this show. You wont be sorry.
I strongly recommend not attending unless you just want to watch MJ videos plus horrible dancing . No actual mj impersonator. Very over PRICED!!!
We had an adult family outing to celebrate a birthday and went to early show during Christmas week. We sat in producer seats (102 R). Have seen Mystere, Love, O. Ka and Zumanity along w all 3 Speigelworld shows and Le Reve. This show was very disappointing and don’t think MJ would approve. There are good numbers and of course most of the music is great. The acrobatics were not up to Cirque levels, not even close. There were a couple decent dance numbers but this group is more the B level. Choreography was poor overall. Best numbers were strong kid on rope w no supports, the shadow number and 1-2 people on trampoline. The guitarist placement in some songs was just weird. Based on ratings many enjoyed and that’s great. I will not take visitors to Vegas here again or recommend it to others. Nobody in group was impressed despite all looking forward to show for long time.
Absolutely amazing experience... Fantastic performances, music, lighting and sound... Makes you feel emotional listening to MJ and seeing parts of his original videos. Highly recommend to MJ fans and Cirque du Soleil fans.
Was honestly disappointed. The 2nd half of show was much better than 1st half. The acts that were features felt more like fillers. Very sub-par for Cirque. Ive seen every Cirque show in Vegas (I live here) and 3 traveling ones in Ca, this was by far the most disappointing. I would have rather stayed home and saved my money.
My wife and I went to see this show last night. I was a little skeptical to start but that’s normal for me. Walking into the theater the anticipation grew a bit once we saw some of the memorabilia that surrounded the gift shop which appears to be authentic. After making our way to our seats, that glimmer of hope slowly moonwalked out of me. We’ve both seen several productions by Cirque du Soleil (CDS)in the past and at different venues across the globe. The stage set was pretty lame, the digital projection quality for this day in age was terrible. The music quality was ok but, again with modern technology ( ie..3D& spatial audio, Dolby Atmos etc) it was lack luster not to mention some of the mixes and blends are disappointing to a person who has the expectations of a multi million if not billion dollar brand being CDS. There are more acrobatic routines than solid dance choreography which Is a disservice to the King of Pop and the performers where made up of acts from past Americas Got Talent performers. There are about 3 performances that were decent but if you have high hopes of revisiting the catalog of MJ and seeing some moonwalking magic you will be dissatisfied by the end. CDS needs to “beat it” with this show as you’re better of remembering the time at home, especially since they didn’t include that song in the show SMMFH! Michael would’ve fired all of them with the exception of the performer on crutches that seemed to dance stronger than anyone else. If you must go, buy the cheapest seat you can find because it adds nothing to the experience.
Left with more to be desired. Not as much acrobatics as i expected. It felt more like a dance team that had trampoline stunts once or twice with minimal acrobatics.
I regret paying for this show.. just acrobats and dancing to MJs music.. i honestly thought I was going to see one dressed as MJ.. some of the music was boring.. i was on second row, at one part of the show alot of smoke came out, it was all over our faces, it was way too much..If you love MJ by far.. MJ Live show is 100 better than the this one.. and cheaper too.
I’ve now seen every Cirque show in Vegas and this one is definitely one of my favorites. The show is great!!!I grew up listening and really enjoying MJ and had hesitated to see this show as I wasn’t sure it would live up to my expectations.Wow! Was I wrong. This show goes above and beyond what any MJ fan or non-MJ fan would expect. This show is a must! It worth the money and time to go see. Once your done you can check out the casino too as Mandalay Bay (where the show is located) is a great casino/hotel and has a lot to offer.
Not a reflection of the dancers - but this show was terrible. Literally, a complete waste of time. Thought it was going to be cirque de soliei and it was not. Save yourself the $ or go somewhere else.
This was a really fun show! It was loud and energetic with great music and some amazing acrobatics. The way they integrated the hologram performance of MJ was very classy and they didnt overuse it (one song).
If I could give 100 stars I would! My husband and I sat in the front row last night 10/15/23 and the show beyond exceeded our expectations. The makeup, the costumes, the dancing, the lights, the entire ambiance was mind blowing. I literally cried at one point in the show bc it was so beautiful and special and overwhelming- felt like we were watching Michael Jackson himself. To the dancer in the sparkly black outfit…wow! You have a special gift and it is astonishing how light on your feet you are, just WOW! To every other dancer, you too are amazing and I was in awe! I’m not old enough to be your momma, but I thought many times, their parents must be so incredibly proud of them! Vibrant, animated dance and face, inviting, cool, breathtaking, overwhelming, beautiful; This is the show to see in Vegas!
Wow just wow. This was my first circue du soleil show of michael jackson.I did not regret even 1 penny and would pay double to get a better seat.Turns out i cant take pictures so this is all i have.Anywyas if your a michael jackson fam or not still this is worth it,fotmyself i am a michael jackson fan but my kids are not and we all still loved the show.I promise you,You wont regret it.The endong was spectacular and would see the show again. Also if you are a big fan of loghting and such your deffinitly gonna love this even if youre not a mochael jackson fan.Trust me you wont regret it.
I am not a big fan of Michael Jackson but the whole familly liked the show. The dancers are generally y not super sharp in our opinion and a show about Michael Jackson would have deserved more coordinated dancers. For those who dont know much about dancing, you wont see the difference. It was a fun evening. The shows O and Love remain the one to be seen first. We have seen all cirque shows in vegas and I would rank One as the third or fourth best show (equal with Ka)
The hubby and I saw this show last night - it was a good show but we werent amazed or blown away. As a hard core MJ fan we were hoping to see more of MJs amazing moves and choreographed dance routines. They missed some of his big hits like Remember the Time, PYT, and Rock with You and added some slow songs that were not as popular. Actually we both embarrassingly fell asleep during one of the slow songs. I actually thought the order of song arrangement could have been better as well.As a Cirque du Soleil fan we were hoping to see more amazing acrobatics. There wasnt hardly any stunts as one may be used to seeing in a Cirque du Soleil show.On a positive note we had amazing seats (103, E, 3-4) at a reasonable cost. The seats were comfortable and great sound acoustics. Im definitely happy that Ive checked this off my list and if you are an MJ fan its worth seeing.
Im not sure why I understand these great reviews. I enjoy Cirque du Soleil shows in Vegas and have seen most of them. This just wasnt great. There were 4 stumbling comedic actors which didnt seem to have anything to do with the overall show. The dancers are capable but when you go to see a Michael Jackson show you want to see great dancing. And it wasnt great. Overall it seems like Cirque threw everything they had onto the stage at the same time and playee loud music. So it was indeed a circus. If youre into loud chaos and people flying everywhere I guess you enjoy it.
MJ ONE is very poorly structured, it is boring, it has the same choreographies, without surprise. It doesnt has as many acrobats as expected from Cirque show, plus the acrobats are very generic, nothing stand out, it is notable how the audience does not applaud at any time but only at the end out of courtesy. MJs best songs should be performed live not lip sync. The combination of MJ songs, Cirque du Soleil, and a good theater as the one in Mandalay Bay (every seat can have a good view of the stage), the show has to be very bad for it to be noticed. Everything is expensive now in Las Vegas, but this show is not worth it.
Wow, what a show!! A lot of love has gone in to this production - I was fortunate enough to see an earlier Cirque Du Soleil production called Immortal, which Im pretty sure was always meant to be a touring show. Also very good. But MJ One benefits from a permanent theatre base in that its more intimate, the sound & visuals are simply breathtaking and you get a good view from wherever you are sat - although personally I would choose about a third of the way back and dead centre.Granted, I am an MJ fan, but anyone who knows his core hits will enjoy this magical journey.Yet again bravo to the Cirque team
The spectacular cirque show centered around the iconic Michael Jackson was an emotional and beautiful masterpiece. From the jaw-dropping acrobatics to the mesmerizing visuals, every moment paid homage to the King of Pops legacy. What truly set it apart was the way it tugged at my heartstrings with its poignant storytelling, weaving Michael Jacksons life and music into a breathtaking narrative, leaving me in awe and tears. A must-see for anyone seeking a truly unforgettable tribute to a musical legend.
This show and staff are absolutely incredible. My 2nd year in Vegas and and 2nd time seeing this show and the staff from the will call ticket holders to the actors on stage and all in between are so nice and attentive. I called the box office 3 or 4 times to check my tickets and rebook my show and they handled the situation so quick and easy. And I got to the show and they were able to adjust my seats for a family member to sit by us and took such good care of us! Last year, one of the actors made my friend cry because he noticed her and how much she enjoyed the show! I dont care how many times I see this show, it never gets old and I will be back every year. Thank you so much, Mandalay Bay and staff! You guys absolutely rock!
If you are expecting cirque performances this is not the show for you. The few acts (3) they had were good, but it was mostly okay MJ dancing (with one exception) with a large video and light show. These shows try to get so artistic that they dont make any sense and lose meaning. I was very disappointed. Take away the fancy lights and videos and there wasnt much left to enjoy.
Overall the show was great, they had some amazing moon walking, dancing, and rope/trampoline acts. This was my first Cirque show so I had no idea what to expect, but overall I was impressed with many of the acts, they were quite amazing. I sat three rows from the back and could see and hear everything. Now that I’ve seen it, I would have sat in the very back to save even more money, so that tells you no matter where you can afford to sit, you’re going to get a good show. With this being my first show, I would have liked to see more acrobat and clown acts and less videos during set changes. I was also expecting more singing, but I do understand after watching it that it was an MJ tribute, so it makes sense that they played mostly his audio. The only negative thing I have to say is to let other parents know that there is a pole dancer in the show who was wearing a costume that didn’t give full coverage (probably to no fault of her own). She was amazingly strong and graceful, but I had my kid with me, and when I turned to see my daughter (who is also a dancer), she was covering her eyes. My daughters exact words were “if her costume fully covered her butt, I could have kept watching.” I think it was more of the angles with the non coverage that made it uncomfortable for my kid.So I’d say other than that one costume, it was a great show for kids too.
The show is nice - acrobatics, music and effects, but the inclusion of some of the dancers in the show that were out of sync or maybe even shape was unpleasantly surprising.
WOW what a show! The production , choreography, acting, comedy magic and hologram was outstanding and all set to some well selected MJ tracks .The show was on point from start to finish.Weve been to many shows and this is one of the best.So a BIG well done yo all dancers, lighting , crew and sound engineers 👏👏👏Highly recommend this show. 10/10
What a show! If your a fan of Michael Jackson & his music, this is not to be missed. Brilliant from start to finish. You wont be disappointed. The music, dance moves & lighting effects have to be experienced. No pictures or video allowed.
Ruined by the man who helped us at theconcession stand!! It was by boyfriends first show ever, we were the only people buying snacks since the show was about to start. We purchased 2 drinks and 1 small popcorn 🍿 nothing fancy and nothing that took more than 3-5 minutes to get. I had been speaking English with the man getting our snacks, he overheard my boyfriend asking me in Spanish what I thought he should tip since this experience was new for him. I replied just a few dollars. I mean, it was courtesy and optional after all. As we walked away excited to watch the show the man at the concession stand told us in Spanish “Thanks for your pennies!” I felt bullied, like he targeted my boyfriend and unfairly judged him. This man made it a point to humiliate us, show his arrogance, his entitlement and prove his point!Even though we were hurt and disappointed in his behavior we said nothing to him.It was difficult to enjoy the entire first half because of this man’s comment. I wanted to go and tell him how wrong and nasty he was. I wanted tell his manager about him, I wanted to give everything back, get a refund and yes definitely get back the tip he didn’t deserve!!! This man does not have the right personality for being with people. The second half of the show was better although it was hard to give it an honest rating with our sour experience😔
The show was more like Broadway musical than cirque du Soleil. Started with some very disorganized choreography and by 3rd or 4th song, able to enjoy the show. But the theater at Mandalay Bay was not confoyand the music was too loud where it made it feel like you were in 4D performance. The chairs and floors were vibrating. The noise was painful to your ear. Not enjoyable at all. Used tissue to block both ear canals and still was loud. Had some decent performance but overall its not something I would recommend to a friend or family
