Im so dumb, I didnt look at reviews of this hotel before I booked it and I have MAJOR regrets!! Just about everything was bad.1. Hotel just straight up smelled like dog. I love dogs, I dont mind staying in a dog friendly hotel. I do not want to stay somewhere that reeks of animal.2. We had a ground floor room right next to the dog yard. Also, fine with me. Some barking but I can ignore it. I cant ignore a dog trying to jump into my open window(because there are no screens!) and smearing poop all over the sill and me.3. The windows had no screens!!!!!! Theres no airconditioning, so you HAVE to have the window open. The rooms are horribly muggy. This felt so, so unsafe. We couldnt sleep with the window unlocked, so we sweated all night.4. Bed and linens, pillows etc. Awful. The worst bed I have ever slept in. Thinnest boxspring imaginable on a metal frame. Pillows were terrible.5. Bath tub absolutely disgusting.Like I could go on and on. It is fairly close to the beach but thats the only positive point. Spend slightly more money and stay at one of the hotels closer to the beach. We reserved and paid for two nights but only managed one. We literally went home instead of staying in town longer. Just gross and disappointing and a terrible end to our vacation.Edit: I would like to point out that OYO/owners consistently reply to reviews and say how sorry they are and will be better in the future, but these negative reviews go back at least a year and nothing has changed. Their replies read like AI wrote them. They clearly do not care about their reputation. If I were the company that owns or franchises this brand, I would be extremely concerned!
I booked a reservation here weeks in advance. Today, I received an email saying that my reservation was cancelled and that I was being charged a cancellation fee with no other context whatsoever. I did NOT cancel this booking, so I called the hotel and was told they cancelled my reservation due to unavoidable renovation. Not only did they say nothing and cancel my reservation without providing other options, but the refund they gave me had a cancellation fee taken out of it, so I didnt even get the full amount back. Do NOT book with this hotel. I would give it 0 stars if I could.
Hi! Im trying to cancel a booking I made 10 days ago. Please cancel booking: JYKO5255. I have tried to use the link on my reservation (it gave invalid booking number error), I tried emailing support - havent received a response, I tried calling - the system, it recognized my number & reservation (they said theyd sent a self-help link via SMS which I never recieved), I also tried calling front desk after going through hoops on the phone automation system but after 10mins of ringing, no one picked up and then it just hung up on me. I hope someone monitors this.... PLEASE CANCEL MY BOOKING JYKO5255. I have called several times...edit: Ive emailed reminders to my first email to guestsupport several times over several days so Im copying the email here as an image as well.
This place is awful, if I could leave negative stars I would. The room was 100° and it wasnt even cleaned. There was hair everywhere and grime. There is no ac at this hotel to even cool down the rooms. I brought my dog and she overheated to the point where we could not stay in the room we had reserved. This was an awful experience and a full days drive to have to turn around and go back home. The staff is aware that the heat is an issue and dont seem to care enough to fix things. They leave windows open to get fresh air but all it does is make the rooms hotter. Also the backdoor is broken so anyone can just walk in as they please. This is scary. This place was awful. You dont want to go here, spend alittle more money and go to a nicer hotel/motel
One of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at, The beds were awful and it was dirty. The carpets needed to be cleaned.
We had a multitude of problems with our room when we arrived. The manager, BEN, was AMAZING. He was attentive and quick to take action on our issues, even though we had to contact him after hours. He personally checked out an alternate room to make sure that everything was in order with it and then moved us to that room. He is an extremely professional, helpful, and empathetic individual. He went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant and is clearly a skilled customer service professional.
I don’t normally review hotels but this place has some serious safety concerns. There was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, the door didn’t shut right and had been busted open and was screwed back together. When I asked for extra pillows the maid handed me a pillow with blood on it and no pillowcase. There was no screen in the window so we were unable to have any circulation in our room, it was hot and stuffy not to mention people smoking pot right outside the window.Don’t stay here.
The workers there were awesome and very helpful while we were having problems with a car prowler that was checking out my husbands business truck with his pressure washer attached.Theres NO elevator in a 3 floor facility with MANY loud dogs and sketchy people coming in and out at all times of the night. While the customer service was great, this is somewhere where my family will NOT be returning to.I HIGHLY SUGGEST that an elevator be put in somehow if not for guest convenience, for any disabled guest. As they would not be able to stay other than the first floor. VERY INCONVENIENT and something that should be addressed ASAP.Thank you,Concerned and frustrated non returning guest
Coastal Inn by OYO Lincoln City - Oregon Coast HwyShort review: The room was not up to the mark in terms of cleanliness and safety. The absence of a fire alarm in the room is a serious concern, and the peeling paint and non-functional toilet and shower are unacceptable. It’s understandable that we were uncomfortable sleeping in the sheets and using the table due to their condition.Long review: This was a strange experience and I have stayed at quite a few properties that have been taken over by OYO. This one was was bad. Starting from the beginning. The front desk say they are open 4 to 6. Trying to check in at 5 and no one was there. Door says call so and so #, so I did. Well that phone was on the desk just ringing. 20 min later they show up. No ID required for room just sign. We were given a WiFi password, for a WiFi that i was later told dont exist. We had to be somewhere at 6 so we made the mistake of not checking the room. Im not picky so thought how bad could it really be. We did not get back to room till after 11. and thats when we saw the condition of the room and it smelled like smoke. There was no fire alarm in room, (found it next day beeping in the hallway on top of a fire extinguisher.) The place smells like it used to be a smoking room. The room looked like it was painted blue but ran out of that mix and got one close to the same color. Paint was pealing and window would not open if there was a fire. The bed was hard and has what I call spring assist. Meaning it bounces you out if you sit down. Was to afraid to sleep in the sheets. The toilet barely worked. The shower had black stuff in it that would not wash away, there was sticky stuff on the Table.Next day 9 am No one to be found and the office is locked. Tried many time to call the in case of emergence #. To contact them we had one more night here and wanted to talk to them about a refund for next night and about the code violation of no smoke alarm in the room but no one was there or picked up the phone. While trying to find someone to speak with A lady who lives in the hotel(yes there are a many rooms of people who live there I was told) said it is really bad here people should not stay here.I called the hotels app i booked with to see if they could help get a refund since we were not staying another night in this place. They called with no luck.. I finely found (Im not naming him its not his fault) the person who checked us in much later when we came back at 4 since it says they are open at 4. I told him about the fire alarm and how bad the room was and trying to get a hold of someone. He agreed with me and he joked that OYO stands for On Your Own and he dont recommend staying there. He told me that my whole 2 nights would be refunded. I told him I found the smoke alarm beeping in the hallway on top of a fire extinguisher. He told me they had been looking for that beeping for a week and did not know where it was coming from or from what. WHAT!OMGI waited over 30 days and got NO refund and the app I book though said since they would not pick up the phone or return messages or emails there was nothing they could do.Ive stayed here before a few times before it was a OYO and it was acceptable not great but acceptable. So just because you stayed before and it was OK it has changed. The no smoke alarms in rooms and none in the stairs was quite alarming. Pun intended.
Stinky. unlocked doors and windows. stuffy and no AC. bathtub full of GUNK and was told by the staff to just deal with it. complete scam
If there negative stars to give I would. This place pictures quite well but the reality is that this hotel is gross, from a wet dog smell, to unidentified stains on the walls, visible mold, peeling paint and a clientele that appears to be more transient than vacationers. The only bright spot would be its close to the beach but as a single female, it did not feel safe.UPDATE: To respond to the lengthy note from the Owners. Let me be clear the issues you have with cleanliness are WAY beyond your housekeeping staff. The wet dog smell comes from the hallway carpet which is indicative of much larger problems. Safety measures? Is that front desk hours that are 9am to 9pm? Is that the doors that feel flimsy enough that someone could fall right through them? Or the parking lots that feel like people are living in their cars? Which would those be?
Was quick last min trip , rooms are okay for last min trips . I wouldn’t recommend extending your stay . Old work down , no Ac had to have window open the entire night for air . On the bright side we’re able to watch a family of deer eat in the neighborhood community garden that was awesome! No elevators, a lot of people used the parking as a hangout spot .. Wi-Fi was okay kids were able to sue with no problem.Staff were welcoming and available, clean lobby and entrance area . Everyone seems to be working hard and showing hospitality. Was a great last min stay , anytime spent at the Oregon Coast when it’s over 60 degrees is a good day .
I guess $132 on a Friday in summer in Lincoln City cant buy much. Case in point: OYO motel at NW 21st and Hwy 101. This is really a lodging of last resort. The thing that stood out the most was a terrible smell: musty, wet-dog, stale cigarettes, that additive they put in natural gas - all jumbled together. Everything in our cloth suitcases had to be laundered when we got home, even the unworn clothes because the smell permeated all of it.Upon our arrival at about 8:40 p.m. (the office closes at 9 p.m.,) we were given our keys to a room on the second floor. I went to the room before getting our stuff and when I entered I saw towels in the sink and bathtub and the unmade bed. Ah, I thought, no one cleaned this room after the previous guest. So, I went downstairs, it was now about 5 minutes to 9:00. The desk clerk apologized saying that 2 workers hadnt shown up that day. Another clerk who seemed to be in charge looked up available rooms and gave us an upgrade free of charge on the third floor. (This place has no elevator.) The upgrade to a queen room, which is what I had booked, had a balcony, he said. The balcony looks out over the parking lot and the highway. When we got to this room after walking up 3 flights on dingey carpets, down the trash-strewn corridor with an occasional towel hanging from a door knob, we were glad to have the balcony so we could get some fresh air. I went to use the bathroom and there was no toilet paper, facial tissues, or hand soap. Back down we went to the office which was by then closed. We called the phone number on the door and got hold of someone working in the laundry room. He came out and got us the items we needed. The bed was comfortable enough. My spouse said, its better than sleeping in the car. My response: is it though?
We stayed for 3 nights. Our room was never cleaned and never got fresh towels even after asking for them each day. The 2nd floor smelled like wet dog constantly. There was no screen on the window. We also found it funny that they had painted the toilet seat to make it look new. The location was great. Quick drive to the beach and close enough to shopping and food.
Where to start....Check-in went smoothly and the young man at the front desk was very kind. But our room was on the 3rd floor and there is NO elevator. It was my partner and I with two kids ages 6 and 11. Upon entering the room we could tell that the floors were dirty and we could hear the dying battery in the smoke detector in the room next door. After walking back down 3 flights of stairs to the front desk to let them know, the young man immediately grabbed 3 batteries and went up to resolve the issue and annoying beep. The beds.....I cant think of anything positive to say about the beds. The mattress is uncomfortable, the bed frames are metal, enclosed on 3 sides and hollow in the middle. EVERY little movement on the bed and it sounds like a zipper on the inside of a running dryer. The pillows were small and flat.Room temperature was horrible and uncontrolled. There is NO air conditioning so we had to sleep with the window open in hopes of finding some level of relief from the heat. Sleep was little to none as the sound of traffic racing by ALL night. Conversations of random people hanging out on the sidewalk could be over heard without trying. If you left the curtains open even the slightest the street lights and signs from surrounding businesses would shine through at pillow height. The bathroom was pretty clean, but super small. The fans were absolutely horrible and extremely loud. There was no way to turn on either light without a fan coming on as well. There is nothing more enjoyable then listening to a fan that sounds like its parts are falling apart.I would wrap this up by saying that the stay was a nightmare accompanied by very kind and helpful staff. We will NOT be returning to stay here again!!
Ben at the desk was incredible! We arrived early and he totally went above and beyond getting our room ready for us. There was trouble with the room keys and Ben made 3 trips up the stairs (we were on the 3rd floor) and back to fix it, then he cleaned the room himself! My only issue is that there is not an elevator, so if you stay in a balcony room prepare for a hike up the stairs. The bed was quite comfortable, the room was nicely cleaned, and the balcony was a plus.
This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The bed was a slab, I would swear it was a box spring not a bed, the frame was metal, it was squeaky and there was a box around it that made a giant boom if you hit it w/ your foot.there were barely any blankets, no chair, 2 flat pillows, the outlet overheated my phone chargerour room was right by the door, the clientelle is obviously one of 2 elements. people like us were duped and people who need a spot to do drugspeople were up all night long, the walls and floors are absolutely thin, the outer doors did not lock w/ the card locks, one handle was totally brokenthis was basically a no tell motel advertised as a legit place to stay, definitely NOT worth 200 dollarsI will NEVER stay at an OYO property againThe staff were decent people, no problem w/ them, but they know where they work..........
Upon checking in I was told they didn’t have my reservation, although my card had been charged. They assure me I’ll be refunded since I had to pay again upon arrival. The room was less than desirable. Very old loud metal bed frames that squeak all night. There were random long brown hairs both in the shower and on our bed. Stayed in room 301, The door to the balcony is non-functioning. There’s no fan, no air conditioning, there is a very old wall-mounted heater that is very loud. But none of that compares to how miserable trying to sleep is. The walls are paperthin and you can hear people all night long. Seriously the only quiet time was between 2 and 5 AM.Both of the people at the front desk were very nice upon check-in however being charged twice, not being able to sleep at all and the overall cleanliness of this hotel, I would not recommend staying here.
The room was not clean (floors were very dirty). The walls are paper thin so when my neighbors got up at 5:00am and were loudly dropping things and planning thier day- I heard it all. It felt like the neighbors were inside my room. I shared with the front desk what happened and they said there was nothing they could do. I wont be returning to this place, and do not recommend it if you value sleep and cleanliness.
I was very disappointed in my stay at oyo. I made reservations prior to arriving. When I got there they didnt have my reservation. After making some phone calls they were able to find my reservation. But the room wasnt available. So they upgraded my room, but when I got to my room it was disgusting, not even cleaned yet with sheets and blankets wadded up, beer cans all over the place. So then I got downgraded, and the new room that had already been cleaned had mud on the floors, on the lampshade and the bed was crusty with dog hair.I was very excited to get out of town. My best friend had recently attempted suicide so we were out celebrating life and all this, really ruined our experience.Definitely not coming back.
So even taking some things into consideration... yes we booked last minute and unprepared. But this place was rough. We got in late and was helped by Cody I believe. He did a great job, very polite and accommodating. So lets get into the pros first. This place is a 4 block walk to the beach, but at the price of just under 270$ a night I could get an air bnb on the beach....The rooms still have scent of nicotine thats been baked in from probably the 60s. It has a spacious view of the parking lot and highway. The bed was rock hard, there are no fold outs, roll aways, or cots, so our son had to sleep on the floor, but like I said we were last minute spur of the moment. This is a 70$ room at best that we were only in for about 8 hours. Happy to have found a spot but at the same time felt like a waste of money...
Room was clean but front desk service was lousy. Elevator got stuck and parking lot is horrible.
Here is the thing. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good. I called to make a reservation and the guy gave us 20% off so we only paid $242 for 2 nights. However, the rooms are not what you see online. Our bathroom had mold, the bed frames are made of metal.. so if you accidentally kick it… it makes a HUGE banging sound, they provided a coffee machine but only gave us plastic cups so we can burn our hands, and the main light in the room didn’t even work so we could only use the lamps. Luckily, we had family staying down the street at Comfort Inn which is a VERY nice hotel. Comfort Inn is expensive, but worth it especially if you have a big family.
I like many others, will never stay here again. Rooms are not cleaned appropriately. Small, empty, and body hair in the bed, shower. All around the bathroom. Bugs In bed. It smells like urine throughout the hotel. Visible mold, Dont waste your time or money!
If I could give this place zero stars I would. For starters the entrance to the building isn’t locked so anyone could walk in. The hallways smell disgusting and are visibly dirty. The rooms are filthy with sticky floors, sand and mould. The walls are paper thin and can hear other people talk, cough and sneeze in a different room. We ran out of there as fast possible and didn’t stay the night. You’re much better off paying literally $10 more per night at any other hotel up the street. Don’t be fooled by any pictures of the rooms online, they are nothing like the pics. DO NOT STAY HERE! The lady at the front desk was nice though.
Booked with hopes like other OYO hotels it would be decent. To say the pictures are deceiving are a understatement. I was in my room for a total of maybe 3hours before deciding to head home. As other comments have stated the staff was very kind. The rooms feel/are dirty. The windows don’t lock properly (second floor with a toddler- VERY UNSAFE), also the screen is ripped so again not safe. There was a weird light in the corner of the ceiling that did not turn off, nor did it have a switch to turn it off (seemed suspicious to me). Beds were freaking awful (mattress/frame). The smell in this hotel is awful. I tried to clean/disinfect my room but still didn’t help. I definitely won’t recommend this hotel. Waste of money for sure. Felt very unsafe in my room.
So I’m going to be brutally honest cause that is what you’re suppose to do with reviews. This is the literal schitts Creek motel of Lincoln city, the sad thing is it’s advertised as a hotel. I would rather stay in the Schitts creek motel than hear. They have the smell of weed throughout the entire building, and mold growing in the rooms. This place should be condemned by the BBB. The front desk person in just some kid who doesn’t know what’s going on, and the Beds…..they are a flimsy mattress on a metal frame that is on wheels and moves throughout the night if you even turn over. The pictures online are deceptive and they way over charge for their rooms. I thought this place would be good from what I saw online and for the price, but I spent $73 for one night, ( and that was their sale price!) when I could have went to a motel 6 and spent less for better service and rooms. I felt like I was in a rats nest. DONT EVER COME HERE!!!
Employees are nice, had a recurring problem with card. A smoking odor upon entering building but room was not. Wiped down room regardless of how clean it was. Plenty of parking, also on street and across streetWas quiet night n day
Very small room, said a queen bed was in the room, it was not a queen. There was no TV in the room and no elevators. Upon entry there was sawdust on the carpet and the room could have used a more thorough cleaning. Very loud traffic noise, and walls are super thin. Soda machines did not work.
I booked this place from an app. It was the least expensive in Lincoln City last minute. It was non-refundable... so I stayed. But I would have rather stayed in my car. Ironically there were homeless people staying in the parking lot, and my room door had one lock. It was missing the second security metal flip lock that catches on a ball. One washcloth looked stained from a human fluid. Another tower looked dirty from makeup. There was hair on the bed. The bed was very LOUD. No elevator!!
If I could give it zero stars, I would. Do yourself a favor and stay literally anywhere else. I have never seen a toilet in a motel that was as disgusting as this one. It is so gross I wont even use the bathroom. The floor is covered with sand and food particles, the room was obviously not swept after the previous guest. The beds are the most uncomfortable beds I have ever tried to sleep on. After 3 hours of tossing and turning I gave up and slept in my car. To be clear, I did not use this toilet. This is how it looked when I checked into my room.
I was a bit disappointed that I wasn’t able to get the reduced price online, due to whatever was going wrong when I’d hit the Pay button. The person on the phone suggested that I try two credit cards, and still after my third attempt it failed. Then I was told by the guy on the phone that he’d call back. Around 7-8 pm that evening I simply received an email stating my reservation was cancelled. So I took the chance and drove from Portland to Lincoln Ciry early the next morning. I was able to secure a room for two nights, but I was forced to pay the higher price. On top of that, the light in my bathroom and the lights in the shower weren’t working, so for part of those two days I had people knocking on my door and an electrician coming in and out. With all that, I still wasn’t offered or credited any discount.
Im writing this review knowing its a 2 star hotel. Im ok with casual, but the front desk was a little too casual. The live in managers left their dog unattended in their apartment and it barked very loud and continuously... maybe take it with them? There was a lot flitter flutter going on at a shift change and messing around which is probably why the room they checked us into was dirty. They refunded me but still that was gross.
Both security doors are broken. The window to the room is broken. The bed is broken. The entire hotel reeks of cigarettes and urine. At 1am there 8s screaming through the hallways and we left for safety reasons. If this isnt reimbursed, we will sue
This is the 2 nd fail I had on this motel. I gave it 2 extra chances. But this last one ruined it all for me. An I live in town n it use to be my get away from everyone but this last time was no good. I had reservations for 2nighrs at 104.00 for both rooms together but the night shift refused to pull up my reservation. So she put it in my husband name.. an housekeeping is a must need to have a lead housekeeper to inspect rooms cause its making us loose out on money an giving it a bad look..
Absolutely disgusting 😤 If I had known that the Coastal Inn allows long term residency, that fact alone would have me NOT stay here. Alas, there are so many other reasons NOT to stay here. Heres a list of reasons: No elevator, no A/C, lack of cleanliness, cosmetic issues with room, and dirty. There was dog excrement on the property! Cigarettes butts on the property! Poorly managed. The building needs to be completely deep cleaned and renovated. Frankly, this Inn couldve been featured on Hotel Impossible. The lady who checked us didnt even ask us if we enjoyed our stay. Something tells she knew better than to ask. GET YOU ACT TOGETHER! I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!
The pictures on the website are deceiving. Yes it’s a budget hotel. The location is ok. There was a lot of very sketchy people in this area. Make sure you take anything of value out of your vehicles. The rooms are just gross. Not very cozy and comfortable. Very small bathroom. Maintenance of the property is clearly not a priority. Very dirty floors. The room had no AC, as described in the description of the room. The walls are so thin you can hear everything. I definitely would not stay here again. I do like how pet friendly the hotel is but that’s honestly the only good thing about it.
This hotel needs a major overhaul! Do not stay here if you have any other options, you will regret booking this room as soon as you pull into the sketchy parking lot. There are broken down cars with people clearly living in them. Upon pulling into the parking lot a man approached my kids and asked them if they wanted a cookie… I guess it was a nice jester however it made me very uncomfortable. Once we went inside it only got worse. There was vomit in the stairwell, broken glass in the hallway, blood stains on the bed, mold in the bathroom, some kind of crusty stuff on the wall, the window was broken and we were on the top floor. After all we had seen we decided to pack back up and leave we did not end up staying, it just felt very unsafe and unhygienic. On a positive note the staff was very nice and understanding.
Loud filthy motel. If the pictures arnt bad enough go check out the front of the motel. Got both garbages overflowing and dirty lingerie hanging out of the garbage. Staff was nice till I noticed Probaly why they were being so nice. Didn’t even get checked in till after 4 because the room still hadn’t been cleaned. It’s on me I should have read the reviews but it’s on them that they can’t fix anything that is a continuous complaint!!!
Right on the highway, but not noisy. Our room was just for sleeping and showering while we spent most of the day at the beach.I love the painted building. And their is so much to visit in walking distanceThank you, Coastal Inn!
I was scared to stay here because of all the bad reviews, but it wasnt bad at all! It was very clean and looked just like the pictures to me. My only issue was the bed: it was waaaay too loud and creaky. It made keeping my baby asleep and us comfortable pretty difficult.
The staff were great. Unfortunate to have to deal with homeless in the parking lot. In hallway where rooms were, there was a man passed out on drugs. He woke up as we walked by and stumbled away. Left his paraphernalia lying on the floor. Didnt feel safe for my vehicle or thought I would have to fight to be there.
Absolutely worst place I have ever stayed at. The ice machines were out of order, vending machines were dirty and empty, and they messed up our room.I’m usually pretty accepting with things not going well but never have I stayed in a DIRTY hotel in which I had to provide my own towels, blankets, etc.The wash clothes they do provide are literally like a cheese cloth, very thin and stringy. Mold on the floor and walls, Shower drain was clogged, and there was no AC like they said I’d have. The only positive thing I could say about this place is that the workers were very friendly.
The hotel smelled of smoke and I’m pretty sure there was mold all over the bathroom ceiling. The remote was broken, no AC, and towels had hair on them. The ice machine was also broken and the door to get into the building was broken so you didn’t need card access to get into the building—at all hours of the day. While the room wasn’t great, the front desk individual was very kind and answered all of my questions.Would I stay again, no, but it could have been worse.
It was GROSS! First it smelled bad in the hotel. 2nd the staff looked and dressed very unprofessional. Then the back door that should be locked and use key cards only, was broken and didnt lock. After I entered my room, I had to go by air freshener so I didnt have to smell the stall cigarette smoke. The bed was dirty and not clean. I went to call the front desk and my phone was broke. I dont know how they can charge so much for such horrible hotel all around.
The bathrooms were not clean. The floors had dirt and what looked like pet hair. The stairs looked like they were not vacuumed in at least two or three days. People running up and down the hallways at 4am screaming and yelling. In the morning when I went to check out at 10:30am the office was locked. There was a lady standing out side the office waiting to get in. It turned out to be the morning front desk person. She had been waiting out side for 30 minutes for someone to let her in. I will never stay there again. The only reason we stayed there in the first place, was all the other hotels were fully booked.
Unfortunately I have to rate this hotel low, I say Unfortunately because we loved the employees, and the office allows you to take games and books up to your room with a. Rental system.. and the management seems to be very understanding with their employees, like its a good place to work but not a good place to stay..we stayed in room 208 with one king bed.. The unfortunate part was that our bed was rock hard, the underside of the bed is aliuminum and if you aciddently kick it which you will. A lot.. It makes a insane amount of noise and kids cant resist it.. the bed also had a backboard on the wall that was wooden and the neighbors would hit theirs in their sleep and it would be loud in our room. The walls are super thin and you can hear entire conversations in the rooms beside you, there was trash sprawled outside the entire parking lot. A vehicle with three slashed tires just sitting there the entire time, we were there three days. Another vehicle with smashed out window that never moved... the door entrance is supossed to lock and open by key card but that was broken, a strange fellow followed us up the stairs and watched us enter our room and he wasnt staying there. He was asking for a ride to get gas that was a very walkable distance. Was alarming. Did not feel safe. Looks like a great location for kids but I wouldnt recommend it for kiddos at all. We paid just as much as a beachside hotel room and feel like we could have done a lot better for our price paid.
Me my family stayed here for a night when we first came in our first room smelled strongly of cigarettes and the other smelt like a mix of kills and Lysol it was so bad we had to go by air fresheners to put in both of them. We had our two dogs with us and didn’t want to risk not finding another hotel with them so we stayed but it’s truly not worth it the beds are far from comfortable the window in one of the rooms had no screen so we couldn’t even open it to let some fresh air in because it’s gets crazy hot in it. The door that lets people in also doesn’t lock so people can come and go as they please which is very disturbing due to the fact there isn’t a deadbolt on either of the doors. The floors looked absolutely disgusting like they probably haven’t been swept in months the hallway also smells terrible, thankfully when we checked we didn’t find bed bugs but the just sheer amount of grime in both rooms is crazy I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone and I’ve stayed at some pretty iffy hotels in my life.
The room itself was clean and had a comfortable bed. Its decent in a pinch. The front desk clerk was friendly and helpful. Downfall being location right off 101 was loud. The rooms were extremely loud. If the floor above you flushes the toliet it practically rattles the walls. If someone is walking down the hall at 2am, youre gonna hear every word since theres about a 1 inch gap on the bottom of the door into the hall. It actually reminds me of a dorm room. My husband had no issues since he sleeps through anything. The carpet down the stairs were disgusting and stunk. Also plants were growing from outside into the hall way. Very interesting.
The floors were sticky and sandy, clearly hadn’t been swept or mopped. Linens were clean, thankfully, and the person working the front desk was very helpful. I just couldn’t believe we got a really nice, clean room in Portland the night before for the same price.
If I could give this place 1/10th of a star, I would. The pictures were extremely deceiving as it looked clean, cozy, and comfortable. Lets just say they dont clean the rooms before you check in. There seemed to be blood-like splatter up against the wall. Probably covered about 3ft x 3ft of the wall.We stayed one Night since we were just stopping in town because it was getting late and couldnt continue on the road. The sliding door was busted and wouldnt close all the way.Area was sketchy as all hell as one tried to come up on us.I beg you....... unless you are all about the sketchy life, do not stop here if youre just a tourist passing thru.
Outside entrance door lock smashed and not working. No deadbolt or security lock on room door. Found 3 bugs in the room. Shower inadequate, not enough room. Would not recommend staying here
The Coastal Inn in Lincoln City Oregon, was the worst experience we have had in regard to hotel visits. the walls were so thin, I could understand what the people were saying the next room and that was without my hearing aids. The heat vent was more rust than anything else. There were no ice machines. The machine had been torn out and only had plumbing and wiring hanging down. The hotel was way overpriced. We will not stay at an OYO hotel again.
DONT GO HERE. My parents got here on 12/17/21 they were given room 215. When they got to their room there was VOMIT all over the wall floor and ceiling. They told the front desk and the lady came up to their room took picture and changed their room. Then today 12/18/21 we checked in to our room which just happened to be 215 without knowing my parents experience from the day prior. When we arrived in our room the bed was unmade and there was STILL VOMIT EVERYWHERE!! This is unacceptable and disgusting especially being in a pandemic. My family will never return. Motel 6 is cheaper and ive had better experience there.
False advertising at its finest! The view overlooked a parking lot and does not have immediate beach access as described. The walls are so thin I could hear the guests in the next room flicking a lighter - and who knows what they were lighting up!!There was so much wrong I can’t even list all of it.
If I could give this place a negative star I would. First off I paid over 180$ for a two night stay in what was the worst motel Ive ever been in. Please dont waste your money here. The manger was so super incompetent she took over 45 minutes to find a room for me even thou I booked this room hours earlier, she sent the maintenance guy to check the room to see if it was clean (it was not) No towels, dirty, trash still in the room ect.. when I asked the housekeeper for towels an about cleaning the room she said maybe tomorrow that she wont be able to do anything that night.....still it gets worse, around 10:30 pm several guest tried to enter our room I told them it was occupied, the manager and her maintenance boyfriend along with a baby in arms show up. States that I cancelled my room an that I would either need to pay or leave, I tried to show them my booking comfromation along with my payment info, I was cursed at and told that they werent being as rude as they could be, this went on till 11 pm.... She over booked our room and tried to have us leave in the middle of the night....this was the worst stay and I was never offered an apology or any explanation as to why I was mistreated. The only help I received was from my booking agent, to which Im grateful for. I sincerely hope this review saves you from such a terrible experience. Dont waste your hard earned money on this place. The management needs to be replaced by a professional rather than what seemed to me as another junkie methhead. She never even looked at or checked my ID or had me fill out any paperwork. Not safe and not worth a dime. Theres black mold in the bathroom ceiling, our window didnt lock, and they had holes in bathroom door. This placed smelled like smoke too. After all the late night BS I told the management I will be posting a bad review due to all that happened, I was told we get bad reviews everyday, look at this place lol wow I mean just wow.
Property in Distress! The main floor smells like wet, soggy dog, while the 3rd floor smells like an indoor grow house of Marijuana. There are tenants that clearly live there long term and will be seen your entire stay either in the hallway with their doors open or in the parking lots smoking. The parking lot is filled with abandoned and/or broken down vehicles and has no lights at night for security. Also, the access doors to the building are broken, so anybody (guest or not) can walk in. About Room 301, there has been some remodeling done (floors, paint, artwork on walls). However, beds are uncomfortable, the appliances are old and noisy, and the walls are paper thin so voices from hallways, next door rooms or stairways can be heard. Pay the additional $20-30 and stay somewhere else!!!
Stayed here for a week a few weeks ago with my husband and son. We were thrilled with the discount Allie gave us due paying cash! It was well worth the trip to the ATM to get this room for $200/week, and no deposit either. This girl is awesome she will take care of you!! Thanks OYO for making our coast vacation awesome!
I give it an ok rating because well I didnt feel like I was going to get a disease by laying on the bed. Its as clean as an old run down location with a lack of care can probably realistically get. I should have read the reviews because I would not have stayed here. Its basically like an overpriced divey motel 6. Decor doesnt match, mold in window, beds are a metal rock hard box spring, no cold water in the sink, but the view of Taft beach is pretty. I didnt feel bad that my 90 pound golden retriever got his hair everywhere so I guess thats a positive. The ladies working here are way overworked and overwhelmed. Theyre very nice and if you are extremely patient when it is finally your turn you will get excellent customer service from them. I looked up what this oyo is and its a startup from a 19 year old with some financial backing from investors out of sillicon valley, Id say it shows that this kid is not capable of running a successful reputable business - Im surprised the investors put their dollars in this. Sad really because the view and location is ideal.
So this is an old hotel and they have updated it...but there is still some ways to go...the bed was unstable, the fire alarm went off because of steam from our shower...walls are thin...just needs some general maintenance. That being said ...its super clean and cheap. Great for a night or two stay, they have fun games in the lobby you can borrow like jenga!
Id give this place zero stars if I could. Within the first few hours we were there we watched 5 drug deals happen in the parking lot. Traffic in and out all hours of the day and night. FILTHY, DISGUSTING, SMELLY property. Trash bags of trash and maid cart just left wherever it sat whenever whoever was cleaning was done.Contacted oyo when we first got there and eas told to call again after che k our. They (oyo main) claims they have no record a d refuse to compensate us as we were told they would. Just keep going and find somewhere else.
I hesitated on this hotel apon reading the reviews but I found a great price online for $42 total price for 1 night 2guest so I took a chance. Apon arriving I found my room to be quite nice for what you pay for bed was nice and big and felt comfortable, room was clean bathroom was clean, my only complaint was the coffee maker is a pathetic joke seriously they really need get better coffee makers lol I would definitely return was a great value and happy with my stay I have no complaints except the coffee maker but I still give 5 star :)
Do not waste your money this place was filthy smelled awful no AC and they have long-term residence who smoke outside of your windows and are loud. We checked out almost as soon as we checked in and there was mold on the ceiling the linens were dirty they literally just remade the bed someone else slept in food on the walls it look like someone threw a beer at the tv then punched a hole in the bathroom door we booked through Expedia went to get a refund front desk told us to call Expedia for a refund Expedia had to verify with a hotel and the hotel proceeded to deny everything even though we had pictures super unsatisfied I thought the staff was friendly and honest when I spoke with them and then they just lied as soon as we left will never book through them again or Expedia for that matter. I wish I could post the pictures. There’s so many things wrong with this we found another hotel in a moments notice we are much happier with this room please heed my warning
Kathryn was spectacular! We were able to check in early, despite being short staffed. When my phone wasnt working she walked across the street to let us know our room was ready. Room was beautifully clean including the tissue from the box being folded in to a neat triangle.
Price more than triples on memorial day weekend which is pretty understandable - however called and made a reservation more than a week in advance and was told it would be 200+tax. Checked in and was charged over 350.Fine, ok need a place to sleep. Was told upon reservation that1. Had a pool (nope)2. No dogs (untrue)3. King size bed (a hahahaha hahahaha its a full size bed 😡)Displeased.Worst thing though, out of everything, the base to the bed is metal. Every time I moved in my sleep it made an awful noise and woke me up.
Terrible. place was dirty and ran down. Stayed for about a half hour and we went and found another motel. Seriously stay away not a safe place to stay.....the gentleman at the front counter was very pleasant. And totally understood.
Good things were... Maybe location if you have a car. Everything in town is on both ends really, but you can walk to the hotels near the beach to get down. People working there didnt show up most the time and everything was locked up for cheakout. Multi fights both nights in hallways and parking lots, also had to tell some drunk teens to literally go to bed. Not sure how they even got the room and they were clearly breaking things for a couple hours jumping on beds. No elevator or ice either.
Would not recommend staying here. Need was awful, not comfortable at all. I had to duck in the shower to get my hair wet and I’m only 5’3”, my husband is almost 6’ and I know he really had to duck. Plus it looked like there was mold on the ceiling above the shower. Plus it appeared that there were people living there.
Nice, clean affordable hotel. we had a great stay
My wife just got off of the phone with a male representative of this hotel. She was inquiring about their pet policy, and as the man did not seem to understand what she was asking due to a language barrier, proceeds to hang up on her instead of providing any information.Red flag. Dont settle for this place. SMH
We stayed at this hotel on the last wk of Aug, rm 301. It was nice, the room was updated recently. Quite street behind, beds were excellent, great location. Wifi was weak. People talking in hallway can be heard in the room clearly. Sound proof door is needed here. The metal bed footings were cheap, I kept banging into it. The microwave missing the turn table. No elevator. No 24/7 front desk. Patio door was ajar.
Very dirty when you first walk in, seems to be a gathering spot for drug addicts, honestly was afraid of leaving my car parked outside the inn. Old toothpaste tubes and tissues littered various spots in room, hair all over tub. And the towels in the rooms for use were disgusting had stains and different colored spots on towels. Was the most unpleasant experience for $160. DONT BE FOOLED BY PHOTOS, YOU WONT BE GETTING ANY ROOMS THAT LOOK LIKE WHAT THEY ADVERTISE. Wish I could add the photos I took of the room here.
You guys realize you have people in rooms sleeping from working noc shift many of us and your house keeping is blasting music while some of us try and sleep? Then when you ask housekeeping to just turn down a little they get rude and come into your room when not there and take all your towels and toilet paper and don’t replace them… horrible Vindictive, also the place is absolutely horrific Glass every where the smell is horrible wouldn’t ever wish my worse enemy to stay here
This is the first time Ive bought air freshener and Lysol disinfecting wipes for a motel room. Needless to say I was amazed to find an envelope on the counter in my room to tip the cleaning crew if I felt so inclined. Tip 1. Clean the actual room.
Booked a room 3 days in advance. Just got the cancellation email and phone call on the way to the hotel on the day of due to then overbooking rooms. Completely unprofessional, didn’t offer me any alternatives or help to get another room. Had to find another place to stay myself and pay even more money. Never booking here again, wouldn’t recommend anyone else does.
The manager Ben was amazing. He bent over backwards to make sure our time there was great. We would stay there again.
Cody the new manager is very kind. Goes out of his way to make your stay the best. Front desk and maids are great. Cristina and Kennan Lubacky are so kind. Derrick maintenance is the Best. Tanya the maid. Every Staff member is the kindest people.
I booked online on monday 14 at aprox 9 pm for Tuesday and wednesday night stay 15 and 16 of NovemberWhen I arrived it was closed with a no vacancy sign . After talking with manager showed my confirmation he had a time finding my 62.00 dollar reservation told me it was a no show on the same night I booked it monday the 14th . I had charter boat fishing trip on wednesday and Im sure I pushed the right tabs to reserve my 2 night stay so now I called customer support and got the run around and I am still out my $62.00 and hunting for a room at night looking for a room . NOT A FUN THING AT ALL
Unfortunately this stay wasnt all we had hoped for. Our room wasnt cleaned prior to checking in, our TV didnt work the whole time we were there and we never received the proper stuff for our stay .. ( towels, TP, etc)
The stay was ok, but I wasnt in a position to fully enjoy it, as my back was giving me problems. The room was clean and nice. I never did figure out the TV remotes, though.
Very casual , safe place just up from miles of open beach 🏖️ . Had my 100# Shepard with me no problem from staff. Ill stay again.
Great price on google, Joscelyn was great when we showed up on bikes and got us a nice room at a good price. Short walk to beach, big rooms with a real window. Would definitely stay again.
Customer service is amazing! Quiet street behind the hotel. Bright parking lot is behind the hotel. Yes, the walls are thin, but again, Amy and the manager are Amazing! Quick access to everything!
The worst place you can choose to stay. It has an unpleasant smell! I stayed two nights 3 days .. I did not have service to the room, the selected room, it was two bedrooms and they gave me a room with a door to another room ... The parking lot was full of water, terrible service at reception. I do not recommend it.
Just want to say stay here alot, Kara and Tanya who clean rooms,go way out of there way to do a good job. Even if a lil past time to be done, the vacuum and clean the parking lot. Good job girls
Unsafe, I was under the assumption that I would be staying at Coastal Inn by OYO. UHH this was a Travelodge. My room smelt like old cigarettes. The outside door doesnt lock, people just be rolling in. Bed frame is made of aluminum box, so if you touch with your foot it wakes everyone up. If you open the window all you smell is cigarette smoke
Josslun is polite, nice, and very fast on her feet when it comes to things that are not rite she fixes it right away. Clean rooms and floors are mopped and swept. Staff here is very nice.
Go to check in was told they have 2 rooms then they tell me after putting in all my information that they do not actually have any rooms. Super rude proceeded to check in other guests and pushed me aside. The woman with the baby claims they just purchased the hotel and that she doesnt know whats going on or why rooms are showing that they have rooms when they dont and doesnt have any solutions.
The walls are thin and you can hear anything and everything. You can hear when someone opens or closes their door all the way down the hall. You can hear all conversations through the whole entire night. And most of all the beds and pillows are so uncomfortable.
People were loud in the halls and outside in the parking lot. Bed frame is metal and my son kept banging on it. The tv kept going in and out.
The hallways smelled of wet dog. The shower wasnt clean. If I wasnt going to be charged, I would have not stayed.
Its 2023 . Please just get air conditioning already. Hotel smells of cleaning chemicals and uring . Staff is nice . It is close to the beach . . Will not be back
The front desk staff were very polite and helpful! It was a wonderful stay and we will stay there again. It was very close to the beach also, which is very convenient.
The photos make this place look nice.the rooms were gross and moldy. no ac.i would stay elsewhere.
Save yourself - do NOT book here. They need to be reported to the Better Business Bureau. Management is an absolute joke. Unable to problem solve & absolutely no customer service skills! Corrupt.
Check in was quick and easy. The room was clean, but my heater didn’t work. The staff was polite and personable
About 10 am a leaf blower did the area below room for 45 minutes prior to that rain would hit the heater intake sounded like a drum line ,no ice no drink machines non working coffe pot parking spaces in a lake and areally just dont care reception attitude .we come to beach every xmas and we wont be coming back here
Gross. Drug addicts everywhere and they Live in this hotel. I was mad as hell to have my son here. Glad we only rented one night.
There were fruit flies coming out of the woodwork. No A/C Even though it was listed on website. Smelled like smoke and was filthy. Bug guts on wall
Hair everywhere, tweakers living in vehicles in the parking lot, terrible matress, I would give no stars if possible, there are plenty of other hotels in Lincoln city that would be a better choice.
The room did not have AC, the security doors were left unlocked, the halls were dirty, the towels were old and worn, no parking, and they charged me for two room and it has taken over 2 days to get a refund. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!
Josslyn was literally amazing. She’s helped me and my husband so much through our long term stay. I really recommend This hotel to everyone. It has the best prices. ^_^
Most horrible motel to stay in be warned go stay somewhere else its motel hell and hell what goes on inside.evil vibes.unsafe zero rest relaxation do not spend your money here.
Bed frames made of metal really sucked very loud if touched with foot exit doors did not lock so anyone could come in very sketchy but floors were great at least not carpet girls were great
Been here for a bit and Ive no issue. Staff is very friendly and fast. Katherine is awesome and the front desk girl is amazing!
Maybe it was the three lawns were overflowing with dog feces and although my friend was told no cats you can here one meowing and litter was on the stairs
This hotel is awful! Room was disgusting and staff were not professional. I was so disgusted that my sister and I walked right out and went to another hotel.
The people staying upstairs allowed their child to run across the room forClose to 2 hours. After spending the day walking from storeto store, we weretired, last thing weneeded was this.
Super friendly staff, accommodated all our needs and were just super sweet all the way around. Joe was especially great and nice whenever wed pass him in the halls. Great place for a great price
I feel super bad because I cant remember her name but the manager did everything to get me into a room I could afford! She made me trip an amazing experience
Anyone who wrote bad review is a completely entitled person . Guess you should have sprung for something far more expensive . Great stay and plan on doing it again .
This place is awesome, price awesome, the staff amazing 🤩…Thank u guys for giving me a late check in and a late check out 🙏🏽
After booking for 2 weeks, 3rd week they lose my booking and I cant go back after they take my money, thanks oyo
Had a great weekend stay, Ben was super helpful.I would be back surely.
Loud no noise controll at all. Stains on curtains, just kinda get what u paid for here. Never again.
The front appears nice to lure you in than once you arrive you see abandoned cars in the parking lot with people living in them making it unsafe to go out at night.
Quick easy check in nice clean rooms EV charging would be nice would stay again.
Great place to stay. Nice and quiet. Awesome reliable staff. Very happy people
Also the doors to come in and out don’t lock, druggies in and out the side doors. Very loud hallways can hear everything.
Exceptionally clean room and very peaceful place. Ryan was great and got me a room at last second. Thank you!
Amy was wonderful. Place was great. Great service. Can’t thank enough. You are the best Amy.
Locked out ofmy room and theres no one answering their phone. Really irresponsible to just not have a way to reach anyone for help.
Was a nice little get away to the coast to relieve some stress. The beach is my happy place
Never been but these reviews are straight up unpleasant
I want to say a whole lot of good things, but its not letting me. Disregard the negative babies. Seriously.
Very friendly staff and convenient location loved our visit
Great room at a great price.
Cody was very attentive and cool
Like staying in motel in a third world country.
Do not go here worst stay or our lives
Was very dirty.
Need to be remodeled
Everything is dirty
This place is terrible!!
Never stay here! The room smelled very bad, the bed and sheets full of dog hair. The hallway smells like mios and cigarettes. I didnt stay, I left there and they didnt want to give me my money back. Thieves!Never stay here! The room smelled very bad, the bed and sheets full of dog hair. The hallway smells like mios and cigarettes. I didnt stay, I left there and they didnt want to give me my money back. Thieves!
We couldnt even check in, at 6 p.m. the hotel was closed and no solution was offered to check in. When we came back the next day to say that we did not want the money to be withdrawn since we were not responsible for their absence, the manager guaranteed us that the money would not be withdrawn. 2 hours later, the money was taken. The manager is not professional, he is a liar and a thief.Hotel to avoid.
Poor and dishonest management: no one to check inn, no way to get the key if you dont have a phone. We had to look for another hotel. When we came back the next day to avoid being charged for a room that we had not been able to occupy, the manager told us that we would not be charged.2 hours later the money was drawn…To flee
