I have been here two times for a deep tissue massage. The first time, I liked it enough to go back. I cannot say I will visit again after my last experience.Pros: cleanliness, timeliness, priceCons: staff has no filterI was very turned off by a weight comment my massage therapist had made at the end of my massage that made me very insecure. I thought it was completely inappropriate to make any comment about someone’s body when they expose themselves for relaxation.

First time coming here. My expectation were above than expected. I purchased the couples massage for me and my husband on Groupon. We were both saying it’s the best massage we have ever gotten. We will definitely be coming back soon. We found our perfect spot. The place is super clean and relaxing. The beds and rooms are very comfortable. We left our 2 masseuse a great tip. I will also be making my 16 year old a massage before starting school here soon. Thank you again for a great customer service and massage

Ive been coming to this massage studio for a year now. Every masseuse Ive seen has been highly skilled and professional. I go for deep tissue massages to recover from training. I highly recommend seeing Tina. She is great at what she does, very friendly, and talented. 5 stars for this place and their team.

I purchased a couples massage off of Groupon. Service was amazing. Massage was superb. I have been a Massage Envy member for years and I have never experienced a massage like the one we received. I prefer the deep tissue massage. Masseuse not only massaged me but also stretched me. We feel amazing. We both have physical jobs and I cross fit train so the massage was needed.

I have finally found a “go to” massage spa!! First time was today and what an amazing experience! I seriously want to shout out to the world! Staff, amazing! Clean! Olivia gave me the most incredible scalp massage, seriously it was like a little bit of heaven! If you haven’t had one, definitely make your appointment now. Jum gave me my Zen massage and wow what a great masseuse! I’ve had plenty of massages in my life but this was seriously the best! They take their time and do amazing things. They have been taught well and like doing their job. Thank you Asian Essence you have a customer for life. I will definitely spread the word about my experience.

Saw Leah for a table Thai massage. She fulfilled all expectations I had for the required bodywork I needed that day. She is definitely a natural. I will be back often.

The massage itself was fine in the moment but ultimately disappointing. The CBD oil they used had no physical affect on me. I have a rather high tolerance for massage pain, but I had to ask the masseuse to use less pressure multiple times (Ive never had to ask a masseuse that before, and usually I have to ask for more pressure), but the pressure here was too much even after asking a few times to go softer. The masseuse pulled my underwear down while I was on the table to work on my glutes. They didnt do anything inappropriate, but I would have preferred being asked or even warned first. It made me uncomfortable. The soothing ambient music would regularly be interrupted by loud energetic commercials that broke all immersion. And then at the end, the masseuse wouldnt finish ringing me up until I tipped 20%, and if you have to tip 20%, then its not a tip, its just lying about how much the massage costs. All the little things throughout ruined an otherwise average experience. I wont be coming back. I wouldnt recommend anyone else go here either.

I have been coming here every two weeks for almost a year, maybe more? As a tattoo artist- my career is VERY hard on my body, I could t keep up with doing it if it weren’t for this place/deep tissue massages.They’re all so amazing at what they do (I really can’t wrap my head around the consistency with their hard work). I always feel so welcomed, & it’s spotless every time.Incredible comfort and care, cleanliness, perfect temp inside, salt rock lamps, calming music, soft sheets, CBD massage option and bottled water on the way out.I will never go anywhere else.Side note-Their bathroom accommodations really wowed me, with a little shower and comfy set up, and actual hand towels. They’re definitely detail oriented when it comes to aesthetics and focusing on a comfortable atmosphere, and honestly in every way.Thank you sm ladies!! I’ll be back soon for some gift certificates for Christmas.

We booked a double couples massage online and when we came in, they werent ready. They didnt have enough masseuse. The other couple from our party had to leave.Besides the lack of communication and inconvenience, the massage was really good.

As a first time client I wasn’t impressed. There was a spot on the face rest cover as well as the sheet. As I entered the room I was to undress…however there wasn’t a sheet/blanket on the table, only a small bath towel. It was akward as I tried to cover up with it as she walked in. In addition, there was no warming blanket on the table, I told her I was cold and she covered me with a ROBE. Half way through the massage she brought in a blue blanket…it was weird. I also told the front desk that I wanted my neck and shoulders worked on, the therapist didn’t understand any english therefore she didn’t concentrate on what I wanted. And she used a lotion that felt very sticky. Not for me, I’ll keep looking!

I’ve been a customer for almost 2 years now and never been so satisfied. I have a couple therapists that I often use and I can honestly say that no matter which therapist does your massage, you won’t be disappointed. I have tried the deep tissue, cbd oil, and scalp treatment massages and all were priceless. This is my monthly treat to myself and I refuse to visit any other massage spa. If you don’t like someone-send them here. 😂I saw this scalp treatment trend on instagram and was so excited to try it. This place could take me the same day so i went for scalp treatment/swedish massage combo. I expected relaxing massage of the scalp, that will make me fall asleep, relaxed and enjoy. Trust me, nothing about my whole 2 hr experience was relaxing. Scalp massage was extremely rough, harsh, intense. The lady was scratching my scalp with nails, so hard that i had the headache next day, and my scalp was red, swollen and irritated. I was not relaxed for one minute even. She was too rough, she was breaking and pulling my hair, the water was either burning hot or very cold, shower slipped from her hands so my clothes got wet, she was constantly pulling my ear piercings with the towel, and burned my neck with the hair dryer. There was so many wrong things going on, that i felt much more intense AFTER the massage. Ok I thought can’t be worse, another person will massage me now for regular massage and i will relax a bit. The lady came in and also same thing, so rough, i told her to use light pressure but nothing, it still felt too rough. Not only the pressure, her movements were so rushed, fast, like she is angry at you and trying to punish you. I am a big massage lover and tried a lot of places, but never in my life had such experience. I almost walked out in the middle of massage, I couldn’t wait for it to be done. Maybe i wouldn’t write this review buuut lady at the front desk… i was signing the card slip, she was watching at what i write and when i wrote the tip (which was low accordingly to the service i received) she asked me: “wow, only that for two people?” I was shocked. I regretted that i didn’t scratch that and wrote 0 right after that. Tip is optional as far as i know and if i felt worse that when i came in to relax, why should i leave a big tip. But with that attitude that receptionist had, you can expect less people to visit you.I also saw the owner commenting on some other review, even writing what kind of tip the customer left publicly and that it was low. I mean great business you are running with that attitude towards customers. I wonder how people still visit them. Probably not returning customers anyway.

Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! I literally felt like one of the people on Tik Tok or YouTube that proudly show their head spa videos from vacations to Japan or Thailand. The head spa routine is very well thought out, very relaxing, and is a real treat. I am VERY happy that we have this in Lombard, just 20 minutes away from Chicago. Yes, you dont have to go to another country to get this.

I like Asian Essence Spa because their techs are very polite & go the extra mile to ensure the customer gets a great massage. Fida, Jum, Carla are the best. Olivia is a helpful manager and the atmosphere is peaceful. I feel like a new person when I leave this place. I prefer the Swedish massage with normal Swedish pressure. Jum gave the perfect massage last week!!

I think there is some serious issue going on in between staffs and owner. Not sure if they’re not getting paid enough or something else, literally person at the counter stares at you while you make a payment to see how much tip you give for their service and if they feel it’s not enough for them, they make faces in front of you and even says it very rudely. I think giving tip on your service is up to customers and you can’t force them to do. I think this is the reason most of customers won’t give you enough tip as well. Keep customers experience positive, so that they come back for your service. They’re already paying much for your service, then you can’t expect more from them. Ask your owner for more, not to customers!And yes, since the person at the front desk made that weird face and rude to us, I have given less tip. If I would have that experience before I made a payment, I would have not given any tip at all. Hope you have learned your lessons. Please take it as a feedback, if you really care about customers retention.

Stiff? Need someone to work you over? This place actually knows what a deep tissue massage means. I love those Thai ladies. It can be painful at times, but that is what I asked for to loosen up all my tight fascia. Walked out feeling like a different person.

I booked an emergency deep tissue, not realizing that I have had a couples session here before, which was a disaster. Thankfully, this session made up for that previous experience. I came with excessive pain, and I feel so much better afterward. Carla worked with extra care, constantly asking about pressure, and even threw in a few extra services like hot stones free of charge.

Tipping is appreciated even if not “required”. Legally its voluntary .I Tipped 20% cause I had $70.00 massage asking $20.00 tip is not professional

My husband booked a massage we drove from Wi to spend the weekend in oak borek,, Went in October 6th 2023 for a couples massage I was frowned upon for being pregnant neither lady wanted to do my massage I felt that it was rushed for that reason. My husband paid for the massage and I tipped as usual although I felt they didn’t deserve a tip due to my service being not so good. When I tipped the lady she stated with a nasty disgusting look on her face is this it!! Is this for both of us. I said yes it was 20$ I tip really good if the service is great this wasn’t the case I never felt so unappreciated in my years of being a customer we have to do better businesses

The staff was very friendly and the ambiance was calm and very relaxing. I would highly recommend this place and look forward to coming back.

There was a bit of good and bad. The good was the massage I received was really really good. I travel a lot for work and get massages frequently and can say this was in the top 5 I have had. Even better than many of the expensive spa/resort massages that are double the price. The lady that helped me was pleasant and attentive to my limitations due to knee injury. The price for this quality makes it 5 stars. The bad is the interior smells a bit funny, I think it might be the restaurant next door. Also, the location just looks beat up and a bit run down inside. It wasnt too bad but when I go to these places I would expect them to be very clean and hygienic. This was a bit lacking in that area.

I come here very often . Massage is absolutely great . But these days , everyone are asking for a tip of minimum $20. What’s wrong ? Already the message itself is costing $80/hr ( Deep tissue ) so $20 tip is 25% tip. Every time I give 100$ and they don’t return 20$ back saying it is tip. When I ask it back for at least 5-6 times then they return it . Please leave the tip part to customers don’t demand for tips .

Just got a (couples) Swedish massage with my best friend. I had Carla and my friend had Cici. Absolutely amazing!! The place was very clean and it was calming and quiet massage. Carla could feel out all my knots and really took her time on each section! About to book for my mom!

I expected a better experience because of the reviews. Nice person, clean place but I didn’t get what I paid for. I am a licensed massage therapist of 20+ years and this was the worst massage I’ve ever had. I asked for a Deep Tissue and it was super light pressure. She totally skipped my neck and shoulders. This was a 90 min massage so she had time to cover the major areas. I asked her to go deeper and she did for just a few minutes. The table shower was supposed to be at least 10 min and it lasted a minute maybe 2. So either this person wasn’t interested in working or she wasn’t professionally trained. I’m very disappointed and felt like I wasted my $. I gave 2 stars because there were a few decent moments.

My husband and I booked the deep tissue couples massage. I had Carla and he had Tina work on him. He loved his and I felt bad for Carla bc Im such a mess. Its been just over 5 months since my car accident so I have a lot of aches and pains. Im tight all over. What i loved was that when I requested Carla to focus on my neck and shoulders instead of full body, she did an awesome job. Im sore now but I can finally turn my head after waking up this morning with a crick on the left side. I will definitely come back for another session. Ive been looking for a massage therapist to work with. My only complaint is bc theres a language barrier, when I requested less pressure, it took me telling her to stop before she moved on but the pressure remained the same. Also, I think it would help if reception asked more questions when you check in like how much pressure you want or if you want focus on a particular area. The facility is huge and clean. And the bathroom was very clean. Overall a good experience.

Really bad experience. First, when you enter the facility, it smells really bad.. the room looks decent, but the smell is awful. Then the massage started, and the lady was moving very slow with every move. I asked her to put more pressure but I have no idea what she said, and continued with the same very light pressure. I needed a massage, not to be tickled. After the massage was completed, I was not happy at all. I paid cash and I asked for my change and the lady said that they don’t have change. DON’T waste your time to go there, since there are so many other great places that will give you a good massage and will listen to your needs.

Highly recommend this spa! My husband and I scheduled a same day 90 minute couples massage, and we were very happy with the results! I could tell that the woman who worked on me could feel where I needed more attention. She found my problem areas without needing to ask, and spent extra time on them. The staff was very friendly and professional.We will definitely be going back!

Nasty people forced me to tip more.. leeches. Advice- Tip is given by the customer whatever they want to give and shouldn’t be forced. Would not be going there again. I am sure these people get paid well but want to rob people even more. What a shame

Last time i was there it was terrible they didn’t even want to do the massage, even when I booked in advance I hope they know I used to come there weekly now I will Go somewhere else. Felt like they don’t understand the pressure part. The person that I booked for the massage which I like 2 of them, didn’t want to do the massage so they gave me someone else and it was not worth it I left halfway, room smelled and so did the sheets(did before as well). They have other locations also and tried that also and not even decent just terrible.

My husband booked me for a deep tissue massage at this place and I was a bit skeptical. I have had head and neck surgeries and go to a place for monthly deep tissue massages which helps me function at somewhat normal capacity. I wasn’t too excited about going to a new place but im SO GLAD I did!! It was one of the best deep tissue massages I’ve ever had. I already had my monthly massage at my regular place only 2 days prior, and was very sore from it but still went along with the massage for my husbands sake lol.. this massage actually took away all my soreness from previous massage and I’ve felt really good past couple of weeks. The soreness was gone immediately and I’m actually puzzled how that happened. So while checking out I asked them if they could do 20-25 min massages for the teachers at the small Montessori school my kids go to and the owner agreed. It was only 12 teachers, so the massage therapists came to school with 2 tables and did massages for 3 hours. Teachers were overjoyed with the experience!! They had the biggest smiles I’ve ever seen and we received so many messages of gratitude. We’re hoping to do this every year for teachers from now on and I’m contemplating switching my monthly deep tissue massages to this spa.Only negative: mix up with appt times. My husband booked for 12:30pm but when we got there, they said to wait till 1pm for another masseuse to arrive. So we decided to leave to take care of another chore and asked if we could return at 2pm which staff was ok with. most of the staff speaks very limited English which creates a language barrier throughout the experience but for the actual massage I would still give them 5 stars.(Photos of spa day at the school)

Wow Ive had a membership with a few massage places but tried Asian last night. Lets just say Nok was absolutely amazing. So much that Im now canceling my current membership and start seeing her monthly.

Absolutely love Asian Essence Spa! Olivia is the very best. The spa is beautiful, peaceful, and very clean. Prices are very reasonable and the services are the best around. Definitely my go-to spa!

My husband had booked a couples massage via phone for an 8pm appointment, and we had a HORRIBLE experience from start to end. On arrival, the front desk appeared confused during check-in and had to call someone for help- leaving somewhere in the back. On returning, they said they already had other customers in the back (also for a couples massage but booked online for an 8 pm appointment). Therefore, they had accidently overbooked for the same slot. They then asked if we would be willing to wait 30 minutes to which we agreed since we had already made the trip there. The front desk worker escorted us to a room in the back and told us we could wait on the massage tables until someone arrived. Unfortunately... the rooms had air conditioning and there was only a towel on the bed to cover ourselves. My husband and I laughed it off and tried to wait off the 30 minutes. However, by the time it was 8:50 pm, no one had come in. That was enough so my husband and I got up to dress and leave. At 9 pm, some one knocked and asked, OH, are you waiting in here? Unbelievably, she seemed surprised there were 2 customers left somewhere in the back of their business. Ultimately, 2 masseuses came and asked if we were ready for our massages.... To say the least, WE WILL NOT BE COMING BACK. I would suggest others to avoid this place as well.

We had a couples deep tissue massage. These were one of the best massages we have had anywhere. The masseuse knew all the right spots to knead out and ways to move my legs, arms and muscles. We felt wonderful after and we will be back. Hands down the best 👌

Dropped in here and had a great experience. Didnt get my therapists name, but she was excellent. I have a membership for a massage chain and Im routinely disappointed. I may make Asian Essence a regular stop. BTW, it does smell - like musty towels; maybe it has something to do with the sandwich shop next door. However, my session was good enough to look past the smell.

I wont say the massage was bad but wasnt treated the same. First experience was couple deep tissue massage they climbed on our back rubbed the knots they found, an Asian massage. This time booked deep massage I went alone and well I thought I was at massage envy. She rubbed sure barely and never rubbed one knot she found no stretching. I was so disappointed and still in pain.

I booked a last-minute appointment for a one hour massage at a place I have not been to before. I was absolutely blown away by my experience. I was in dire need of a massage during the pandemic and finally got to getting mine today. They were professional, warm and welcoming and the space was peaceful and spotlessly clean.And the good part is about to come… It turned out to be one of the top five massages I have ever had in my life. Eva, my therapist was professionally trained and skilled at the highest level of the art of massage therapy. My husband and I enjoyed an awesome massage from Fita & Cici. They made sure we were comfortable and relaxed. The atmosphere was great and the vibes were good. The music was very relaxing and these two ladies did a great job. Make sure you ask for the hot stones. Everything was well worth it!

My fiancé and I scheduled our first Hot Stone couples massage and it was great! I can’t remember the 2 ladies’ names but they did a great job! Felt so relaxed afterwards! Only complaint is that they were running behind when we arrived so we had to wait about an extra 20-30min. Other than that, the actual massage was great! We’ll definitely be back again but on a day when we literally don’t have anything else planned! Lbs

My second visit,I called four days ahead and made an appointment with Eva. When I arrived I was told Eva was gone for the day, not wanting this to deter me, I was willing to try another masseuse. I explained this to two staff members. I was given a blank stare they walked away and disappeared in the back as I politely took a seat after a five minute wait,another customer walks in and stated she also made an appointment with Eva. She to was told Eva was gone for the day. And like myself she also requested another masseuse the difference in her experience. They seem to fully understand exactly what she said and was escorted right away to the back, I questioned the preferential of treatment, since we both had the same issue,and was told they did not understand my request. Once I was escorted to the back I could clearly see three employees huddled at the end of the hall staring my way and whispering this was very unprofessional Needless to say this experience made me very uncomfortable.

Had a terrible experience all together. Started from the moment we walked in. Check in process was obscure and minimal without any questions asked as what type of massage or anything. We were put into a room immediately and told to get ready. After about 15mins two masseuses came in, and after 35minutes they walked out. Ordered a 60minutes Swedish couples massage and the both of us got a 35 minute deep tissue massage. Was overly rough and talked through parts of the massage to pass some time. After about only 30mins of a real massage we were told that was it and to get our stuff together. We proceeded to leave still not sure as to why it was such a quick massage when one of the masseuses caught me by the door and blatantly almost demanded for a tip and was surprised when we said that it was a bad massage. Overall a bad experience and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone really.

Got a deep tissue massage from Bea. Highly recommend her if you want a strong deep tissue massage. It was painful, but she found the knots and massaged them out. My shoulder and neck were really tight going in and I feel a lot better now.

Got a great massage from Molly! The only reason I couldn’t give it 5 stars is because she pressured me to leave more tip.

I have been coming here for the last three years or longer after after an illness and I felt weak. I regret not writing a review. Anyway I must have had thirty or so massages here. I wish I can have them twice a week but that is not practical financially. So, I get one three times a month! I have had several individuals over time and cant say any one was unsatisfactory! I found the place clean, masseuse professional and very good! I have never found anyone asking or pushing for more tip! I would recommend this place strongly!

Im not massage person but Cici has me contemplating my monthly budget just so I can come back monthly. I recent was diagnosed with Bells palsy, upper body pain and I asked for a swedish massage. She had me walking straight and my face was back to normal. Excellent! Ive booked my husband, my mom, referred her to my sister and friends.

Never recommend this place. The massage is not professional. After their massage you have more pain. They are climbing with their feet on your back that you can not breathe. And they are pushing you to leave how much they want tips, not as much you want. If i dont like their massage, why i need to give them more tips, and they saying like no no, you have to leave no less than 20% . Neeeeevvveeeer will go again to this place!!!!!!!!!!!

Best massage I have ever had. This woman was incredible. I took the strong massage, expecting it to be moderate. She took of her shoes and socks and dug into my back with her heels for a half hour. Truly remarkable. I will definitely be back.

Full body Swedish massage was terrific and very professionally done. It was a little difficult to know what to expect for a first time at a new place, but the massage was terrific and and the place was clean and professionally run. I did not get the masseuse’s name but she was very good.

I made an appointment with Nok Morgan for 90 minute Thai massage and body scrub. Let’s just say I was a mess. My whole body hurt when I arrived as it had for the last 6 months or longer. I’m a mom and have a very physical job and left my self care go too long. I had low expectations that she could really fix me but I was hoping for “some relief”.PEOPLE! Listen to me! This woman is so magical. So take red at her art. I walked out LITERALLY pain free. I cried in my car. It was very I te se and I had to breathe deep but my GOD it was worth it. Even my attitude has changed. Bring pain free is so different t.. it’s foreign to me. So sad. I plan to go back monthly. I deserve this.Do t question this place. Have an open mind and GO TO HER! You deserve it!!!

I normally get Angie and leave feeling great. I have a physically demanding job that also requires a lot of walking and she can reset my back/legs to where I feel human again.She has been gone so the last 2 times I went with different ladies. 1 was just a weak lack luster massage and the other turned out to be a big mistake as I felt worse the following day than I did before going in.Also they are all pushy when it comes to the tipping. They scrunch their nose up at 20% and ask for more, which only makes me want to tip less honestly.

The staff were very nice. We got in and out on time. The deep tissue massage was amazing! I will definitely be returning.

I don’t know why I was going anywhere else. The masseuse was friendly, professional, and did an awesome job. There are a bunch of massage places in Downers / Lombard of varying quality, but this was by far the best massage under $100 that I’ve gotten in the area. Comparable with Asha or MassageEnvy.

It is a great massage I get here! I try to come once a month or every couple of months to get the Thai massage. I really feel great afterwards and relaxed. All the tightness is gone.

Fong was great tried the table scrub I dont recommend that room was cold as fuk, gonna try the shower room. I was expecting like a lather or suds scrub felt more like sandpaper scraping in a morgue.Again fong gave me one of the best rubs Ive had she strong as fuk

I just left this place. It was my first visit and certainly won’t be my last. I should have gone for 90 minutes as the 60 was not enough. Clean location, friendly staff. Very relaxing. Linda was my masseuse and she was amazing. Thanks again!

Massage liked. but why in the end after payment I extort tip? and if I have no where to give. if I agree to tip, then I will give them. Why persistently ask them? they are not paid by the owner? I doubt that I will come again.

Got a couples massage. Pretty good massage except for the fact that the ladies doing the massage kept talking to each other during the massage. Very distracting.

These girls were able to take me in on Fathers day and they gave me a great deep tissue massage.

I went to the St Charles location and booked a Shiatsu massage with Patti. She was AMAZING! She really put a lot of effort into my session and focused on my problem areas. She did a really good job and used lots of pressure. Best massage I ever had!

A gentle full body massage and the warmth of hot stones relieved my stress. I wanted a stronger massage, but her technique and strength seemed unprofessional.
