It was the first time that our group sat actually on the stage and behind the troupe. The experience was very immersive with some very impressive highly energetic acrobats. The club was very gracious with the acknowledgment of our taking in the show and also promoting the show. The cast/troupe acrobats were wonderful and although they were flawed in such fantastic ways, it made the show even more fascinating. They told a story about San Francisco and shared other stories from other people in the San Francisco area that made it memorable. The only downfall was it was only a beer and wine establishment, but other than that it was truly terrific. Highly recommended and we plan on going again as the ticket prices were affordable.
Dear San Francisco was the best show Ive ever seen. I love the intimacy of this theater and how they incorporate the audience into the show. Everyone should be going to see this, whether you live in SF or are just visiting. You get full table service from your seat. If you want an even more unique experience, go for the seats that are on the stage! What a beautiful work of art that also functions as a love letter to the city.
We saw Dear San Francisco show which is held at Club Fugazi. (This is the where they used to do Beach Blanket Babylon.) We got last minute tickets so we didn’t get a choice on seats. Seats are arranged so you share a long table with others but all seats face the stage. This means that for some, the table is behind you. It won’t be too bad but the tables are narrow. They have some seats in the balcony too which are smaller. There are also seats on stage. While it may be interesting to be on stage and close to the action, the view may be obscured at times. (I think?) They have drinks and some food but go somewhere else if you’re really hungry. Overall, it was a fun evening.
Did not know what to expect. Was told it was a show I must see and so I went. Boy was I surprised. It is at the old Beach Blanket Babylon theater with a little remodeling. You walk in, register booth on the right and the unisex bathroom on the left. Inside seating are comfortable swivel seats. Depending on your tier, you can have lower swivel or a high swivel. Some have long skinny/tiny tables in front of them and some do not. I ended up getting seats that did not have a table. Made it very uncomfortable to have to swivel around to place my drinks and food on the table behind me where its next to a couples drink/purse/menus/etc. (awkward and made me uneasy about items that I was ingesting) and miss parts of the show (the company should change that situation).Joey served my drinks and food and he was amazing. Very friendly and great customer service. High five to Joey!!As for the show, some people got postcards to write and some did not (I did not). They read three of them during the show. A postcard from Hunter Pence was read (did that mean he was there??!). The whole theme was kept in the BAY, especially SF. The show was very intimate and interactive with the audience (made it fun). The acts were incredible and different. Great story line about a couple in the act (must see for yourself). All the performers really look like they LOVE what they do which makes the show even better.I have nothing but great things to say. The only issue was what seemed like an 8 inch table that I had to swivel around to place my items, look at another couple every time I do, eat awkwardly (had a knife and fork dish and that was hard to eat on my lap), and missing part of the shows. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Fantastic venue, staff, and entertainment. The show was excellent, from the performers, to the audio and video, to the emcee. We saw Dear San Francisco. It was a much more endearing and theatric performance than that of Cirque or Speigleworld. I love those shows, but this was a different experience.
I spent my birthday at Club Fugazi again this year. “Dear San Francisco” is great entertainment for all ages in a uniquely San Francisco location. My 86 year old mother loved it last year and this year the 9-year-old that joined us wanted to linger and visit with the performers after the show for as long as we would let him. This circus is full of heart with poetry and tributes to the memorable events in S.F. history.
This was a fabulous evening of entertainment at Club Fugazi seeing the ‘Dear San Francisco’ show. The performers are incredibly talented and there are some very impressive stunts on show. The experience is immersive and regardless of where you sit, the performers do at times leave the stage so everyone gets to experience and feel a part of the show. If you’re in San Francisco, this is a show that is not to miss!
I WISH I could give them more stars. 1st, the venue. Its a beautiful old building, at the beginning of the show they give you a little history about it. Seats are nicely spaced, I didnt feel crowded in at all.The safe, polite, helpful, amazing! The ticket taker was great, the usher was friendly and helpful and the waitstaff was on point! But the highlight? The show!!!! Dear San Francisco was so moving and amazing and beautiful and funny all in the same breath. I was crying, I was laughing, I was enraptured by every movement the performers made, every word spoken to the crowd. This was the perfect experience for my 1st time in San Francisco and for my last night in the city. Ill be back, and Ill be back to see this show!
Was a great show! Lots of ages—families, couples, singles, kids were all there. Great service that made my family feel comfortable. We had a lot of fun!The only reason why I dont give this 5/5 stars is because the level of the performance was slightly lower than we were hoping for—but I guess you cant expect too much from an SF club setting. We still had a fantastic time. :)
My partners face says it all. This show was so fun and interesting! They did a great job preserving the legacy of BeachBlanket Babylons ode to SF but obviously it’s totally its own thing! Everyone was super talented and the stage seats were so fun! Definitely a great night out for the whole family or a date night.
I saw the “Dear San Francisco” show at Club Fugazi with some friends, and highly recommend it!! It is Cirque du Soleil-like, but pared down and very up close, and you can enjoy surprisingly tasty food and drink during. Club Fugazi combines live performance with the feel of a speakeasy, and it’s where “Beach Blanket Babylon” played for decades in SF North Beach, keeping its dazzling spirit alive. 🙌🏼 We liked it so much, we came back for a second time to watch the same show. The staffs are so friendly and attentive, specially the manager Jordan. He will make sure the guests are well taken care of and have a good time. Not to mention, the food is awesome. Panna cotta and avocado toast are MUST TRYsOh, and their original songs by 7 Fingers are incredible. I fell in love with the songs and added them to my regular playlist.Highly recommend the show!PS: the area felt safe to walk at night as it is near a police station. We parked at Border Parking on 1647 Powell St for $10. Its is only 1 minute walk from Club Fugazi.
This review is for Dear San Francisco. If you are reading this review then you clearly interested in the show. Stop now and buy your tickets! This is one of the best shows I have seen in all of CA. This isnt just stunning acrobatics, its a great story. The acrobats are artfully entertaining. We sat on the stage. Front row. WOW what an amazing experience that was! I really appreciated the history of the building before the show started. Robin Williams and Janis Joplin graced that stage. So dam cool!
Enjoyed this unique “circus” last Saturday night, what a perfect SF show! Crazy great talent all around. The friends who took me tried to describe the experience we were about to have but you really have to see it for yourself to believe it! Highly recommend.
Dear San Francisco is a beautiful, delightful, and complex homage to an equally complex city. The acrobatic prowess and choreography is only matched by the charm of the cast. Each performance is unique and human. I look forward to each time I go and have yet to be disappointed. Thank you all for the experience.
Club Fugazi and the resident show, Dear San Francisco, are among the best experiences in the city for locals and tourists alike. My family lives across the bridge in Marin and weve been to see the Dear SF show seven times. We bring different guests with us each time. They probably think were stalkers. But the show is thoroughly a nonstop joy ride from start to finish, with breathtaking acrobatics, dance, music, touches of literature and allusions to all of the things for which San Francisco is best known. It changes and evolves regularly as new performers join. The show blows us away every time and does not get old. A centerpiece of the experience is the venue - a gorgeous historic theatre with modern upgrades, and theres really not a bad seat in the house. They serve great food and drinks throughout the show. The cast and staff interact with the audience with warmth and grace, as if youre a long-lost cousin visiting their home. Theres really nothing else like it. Must see.
Can’t recommend the show “Dear San Francisco” enough. What an absolute gem this place is. The performers are incredible, all so talented and engaging with the crowd. The building itself is historic and intimate, allowing you to sit close to the stage and within the action. We loved our night here and it was one of the highlights of our trip to San Francisco. Again, GO SEE THIS!!
Took in the “Dear San Francisco” show, absolutely loved the venue in this iconic and historic building.. Definitely a highlight of the 2023 holiday celebrations! Talented acrobatic performers who engage their audiences with light hearted banter. Closing musical was so touching, truly inspiring! Don’t miss this performance, so uplifting!
Dear San Francisco is one of, if not the, best shows Ive ever seen. Physically impressive, clever, just interactive enough -- spans a good chunk of SF history in a fun and clever way. Attentive staff here, beautiful theater, and a cast thats clearly having a great time. Highly recommend for a visitor or local alike.
Wow!! Dear San Francisco blew me away. Club Fugazi has such an incredible history and connection to San Francisco. The 7 fingers have done an incredible job creating a love letter to this complex and beautiful city. The performers were so amazingly talented. They made the craziest stunts look easy! If you are looking for a fun night out that will make you say Wow grab a ticket to Dear San Francisco at Club Fugazi!!
This theater is beautiful, with an intimate vibe. We came here over the weekend to see Dear San Francisco, a performance filled with acrobatics and artistic dancing. The venue was beautiful and full. If you can afford to sit at the very front, I highly encourage it! Amazing views. The performance performance itself was amazing and theater service was consistent. They came at the beginning to take our order and checked in with us a couple times during the performance to make sure we were okay.Food and drink prices are a bit higher but just about what you would expect in the city.I didn’t get to try all of their food but we had some drinks and popcorn (which was saltier than expected)I will definitely be back for a different show!
Everyone who has ever lived & loved in San Francisco, passed through, or been curious about the history of this city (as well as any & all circus enthusiasts!) need to make this a live performance they do not miss. Ive seen it twice and both times my love for SF has been reinvigorated, & made me recall the magic of the city that enticed me to leave the east coast 20 years ago & make the Bay my home. This show is a beautiful tribute to San Francisco, to the circus arts & the artistic culture & history that enriches this city. Held in a rad historic theatre in North Beach within walking distance to classic spots City Lights Bookstore, House of Nan King and Vesuvio Cafe, do yourself a favor and see Dear San Francisco. The circus skills, storytelling, energy, & comraderie among the artists are all reminders of what San Francisco was, and hope for what it can be again.
Saw Dear San Francisco show last Thursday! Prior to the show, we had an easy time finding a ramp to park in close by despite blocked traffic nearby. Club Fugazi is right next to Chinatown, so if you are planning to see a show in the evening, Id spend the first part of the day exploring Chinatown. The show itself was great... I did wish they had more aerial stunts than they did though. Overall, it was a great performance, and I would recommend it to anyone traveling to the Bay area.
Many years ago, I came here to see the iconic Beach Blanket Babylon, which was an amazing show and experience. Then recently, I learned about a new show called Dear San Francisco and thought I would take our family to see it.It’s spectacular and gives you a true sense of what it’s like to be involved in SF. But as much as I love the show, Club Fugazi is what makes it special. The venue is old and small and extremely elegant. Where the Fillmore is classic and a bit rundown, Club Fugazi is bright and beautiful and might even be better than when it was first built.Come to see the club or come to see the show…it doesn’t matter. Just do yourself a favor and see what this place is all about.Michael DelehantyCompass Real Estate
Soooo fun!!!! They let (and encourage) you to take pictures to post, but honestly, after the first 5 or 10 minutes of the show I was so memorized I forgot all about everything else. The strength and skill of the performers is mind-blowing, and the way they added extra texture and context with the lighting, sound, and storyline...... Ill definitely be returning!I wasnt that interested but my mother wanted to go, so I came along. Far exceeded my expectations, Im converted. Cant wait to drag some of my friends so they can have the same experience.
Great show! Perfect place to bring out of town guests for an exciting and energetic show featuring talented performers and bits of SanFrancisco history and trivia. All seats are good and drinks & food served!
Nice performance venue but service was not the best. Ordered caramel and pepper popcorn, came out too salty (for anybody), and when we gave the waitress feedback, she said nothing else other than telling us to ask for light salt next time. Repeat customer but hesitant to recommend this in the future.
With such a small stage, Club Fugazi can do so much. Your eyeballs may pop out a few times, but they never hit an audience member. The content of the show is a chronological look at our San Francisco with modern cultural tones. Its in the old Beach Blanket Babylon Theater, and in the same form, they poke some humor at our society. It was a great night, and I will see it again with the teens. There is music, acrobatics, and social consciousness, all rolled into a laughter filled applauding 1.5 hour show. We still had enough time to eat at Tonys Slice House afterward.
Why are you reading this review instead of purchasing tickets NOW? Dear San Francisco is a different show than you have ever experienced before. It leaves you shouting, Wow, what did I just witness?. Its great for all ages and diverse crowds. The actors/acrobats are a delight to watch, listen to, and get emotional. My favorite scene was the psychedelic one — THIS is San Francisco ✨
We took the family to enjoy Dear San Francisco last night and it was such a treat! The pure talent and joy that beamed from the performers was amazing. The venue was beautiful, clean, and intimate. We made friends with those around us and were checked on all night from the staff. We felt comfortable in the area and theater with our three little ones. We cant wait to return!
A wonderful show that evokes every emotion. Super entertaining on all fronts. Amazing acrobatics combined with story telling of San Francisco’s rich and complex history. A true love letter to the city. The stage seats are such an interesting viewpoint that make you feel a part of the show. The cast is so welcoming and interactive with the audience before, during, and after the show. This is a Must See!
Breath-taking Acrobatic Ode to SF at Club FugaziDear San Francisco at Club Fugazi is an heart-pumping spectacle that captures the essence of the city with mesmerizing acrobatics, humor, and heartfelt moments. Who needs Cirque du Soleil? This is a cool venue for an explosive show. The talent on display, some of whom were trained by the iconic circus Master Yi Lu, showcases incredible athleticism and grace, making the audience gasp (embarrassingly loud at times, I admit) performance. The interactive element, where our own definitions of what San Francisco means are shared, added a personal touch that made the show even more memorable—especially when my own message was read. Its not just the performers who deserve applause; the crew, particularly the unsung hero managing the rigging, played a crucial role in bringing the magic to life. This show is a testament to the spirit of San Francisco, its inclusivity, creativity, and resilience. Our family lives here and we brought our son. Dear San Francisco impressed us all. Well be back. Dear San Francisco at Club Fugazi is an absolute must for anyone who wants to feel the true heartbeat of San Francisco.
Such a lovely, historic venue with a wonderful staff. A very unique setup for an event space, and something youll definitely remember. Not to mention that Dear San Francisco absolutely astonishing. I cant believe we have something like that just going on. What a treat for us that all those artists came together to make that happen, and live in and love San Francisco.
A good friend brought us to see Dear San Francisco as a Christmas gift, and wow, it was fantastic! Its like a much more intimate Cirque du Soleil, without the garish costumes and blaring music. The acrobatics and other skills were truly amazing, and included tumbling, trapeze, pole work, juggling, and Chinese yo-yo, to name a few. It was doubly amazing that they were able to do everything on a relatively small stage. The performers were not only superhumanly skilled, but also very expressive, projecting a real connection with the audience. As you might have guessed, the theme is a tribute to San Francisco, which is done in a very heartfelt way, tracing as far back as the 1906 quake. The only bit that fell flat was a comic interruption that was meant to skewer tech gurus -- went on a little too long. The Fugazi theater is a beautiful venue, and had previously been the home of the venerable Beach Blanket Babylon show. Seating is casual/nightclub style, with long tables that allow for food and cocktail service before and during the show. Theres also orchestra seating that is essentially backstage without the curtain (so the show is kind of 360 degrees), as well as two balconies on either side. Service is extremely friendly and efficient. We parked at the nearby 1636 Powell St. Garage (which is recommended by Fugazi) for a $20 flat fee, with good service.Overall, this is a cant-miss show. If you love theater, superhuman feats of agility and strength, or San Francisco, youll love this show!
An amazing experience that captures the spirit of San Francisco. A definite must see for tourists and locals alike. Appropriate for kids willing to sit long enough, especially if they like acrobatics. We liked the charcuterie boards and wine. Highly recommend!
Quintessential San Francisco! We had the most incredible experience last night at Dear San Francisco in this historic landmark theater. The show is a must see.The table service was phenomenal with a great menu. There isnt a bad seat in the house with the layout of the seating thats equipped with swivel chairs that was clearly well thought out.If you want to feel true San Francisco life, see this show and feel the warm embrace of live art again.
Dear San Francisco - amazing show, great food and drinks, good vibes.Totally spectacular performance on such a small stage. Its like cirque de soleil on close up. Such talented yet humble performers.Totally recommend for a date night. But there were some families with kids as well that we saw enjoyed the show.
What a GREAT EXPERIENCE!! My wife came across this show and bought 4 tickets for us and a couple of our friends. The place was packed and it seemed that quite a few people were repeat visitors. The show last approximately 90 minutes. All I can say is very fun, exciting and action packed along with great music. It seems that the their have been different shows since they started playing this venue. The show we saw was called “Dear San Francisco” from 7 Fingers (the acrobatic performance groups name). If you are looking for something to do with the entire family please see this show and visit this venue. It seems that right now the show is booked through June 2023 and the more people that visit and tell their friends- the longer that show might be at this venue (Which is in the same place that Beach Blanket Babylon ran for over 50 years I think). Don’t miss this experience!!I posted a couple of pictures but they do not really capture the fun & excitement of the show.
We went to the Dear San Francisco show, and it was awesome. Fun, energetic, and very entertaining. The acrobats are incredible;the way they move around on the poles and the other objects can make you forget for a moment that gravity exists. The other parts of the show are awesome too - we especially loved the Chinese yo-yo - I won’t say any more so not to spoil it, but suffice to say it is a really cool scene to see live on a stage. Also, the visuals and music of the entire show are great. Definitely recommend.
Club Fugazi has good seating. I definitely liked the balcony seats for the 7 fingers show since you are able to appreciate everything from bird’s view. The theater is small so seating is nice and the chairs rotate. I’m glad they are still around! Can’t wait for another show!I 100% recommend “dear San Francisco” to anyone, but specially for those who call it home!
The best show Ive ever seen!!!! Its not just a spectacular performance but also a beautiful story about San Francisco. Its intimate and personal and filled with love. Am definitely going to see it again!
Dear San Francisco is a great evening out. Mostly upbeat, sometimes touching, with astonishing acrobatics. Visitors no doubt enjoy it but I was pleased to find a crowd of mostly locals and frequent visitors delighted by the show this evening. I am adding it to my list of semi-secrets to share with friends from out of town. Long may they play - but just in case get down here!
Dear San Francisco was the hands-down best acrobatic performance experience EVER! Honestly better than cirque du soleil and way more intimate, too! Interactive with the crowd, creatively designed show (which was well explained with a great theme), and a beautifully diverse cast who were all incredibly-talented experts - every single one of them! The small cast size gave every artist on-stage such a good amount of limelight to highlight each of their skills and it made me feel closer to each of them (as opposed to a huge cast of performers where none or very few of them really get highlighted in the show). I loved getting to see their interactions with each other as a team, too! Just wow. Also great drinks and appetizer type food. I wish I lived in SF so I could see this show more times!!! I will definitely see it again next time when Im back. Kudos to all the people involved in this show who help make it a success!
Such a great show and a beautiful tribute to San Francisco!!! A must-see if you’re in The area!! Don’t miss out💗! The 7 fingers are incredibly famous and great at what they do! Do yourself a favor and go! Take a friend or 2!!! Also, the Dark chocolates were such a delight 💗💗💗. The show is about 90min long so I suggest using the bathroom before it starts… you won’t want to miss the action once it starts 🤗. My guest loved it so much he even got Club Fugazi swag 😂.
Came in from out of town to see Dear San Francisco, and it was great. I was excited the whole time. It was a love letter to the city, and I love it. I would see it again if I had the opportunity toThe acrobatics were great and so was the crowd. No 2 performances are alike and I want to see it again.
During the walking tour we have visited this place, learned its amazing history, and met some people who were part of the Dear San Francisco show. The show looked quite interesting so we decided to get tickets for it.This was the best decision we did while visiting San Francisco for a vacation. The show was an highlight of our trip. The pure art and performance, skills and acting took our breaths away.Sitting behind the stage also amplified the experience.I would fly back to San Francisco just to see this show again.I feel so honored that I was part of something so special.
My niece bought tickets for my birthday. I have never been here and did not know it existed. We got there a little early and waited outside. Masks are optional. They checked our ID and vaccine card. Then they walk you in and to your seat. Some seats are behind a table so if you order food and drinks you have some place to put them. Other seats have no table in front of them..but you can turn your seat around to use the table if you want. They also have balcony seating which would have been cool seats...they all have tables. The waitress came over right away to take our order. My mom was the only person to order and it was a bottled water...wayyyy to expensive. We ate before we went...so we did not order food...it did look good though. The show was fantastic. I really loved the lighting and acrobats. The performers were very entertaining and very fun to watch. The way they acted was like a loving family...It was hard to turn away because you just did not know what you would miss.I would come see another show for sure..It would be great as a mothers day gift..ir a date night experience...Incredible.
I have NEVER attended a circus/acrobatic/theatrical show as dynamic and entertaining as Dear San Francisco. It has poetry, music, drama, dance— all the elements of excellent theater. The performers are stunning in every way: from their skill set to their endearing personalities. No one should miss an opportunity to see this show!!
Dear San Francisco is a must see for both locals and visitors. The performers are so incredibly talented and the San Francisco history intertwined in it was perfect. I was in awe the entire time and did not take my eyes off the stage the entire time. This should be on everyones list of things you must do in San Francisco.
Amazing show! I found myself very emotional about the Bay Area in a good way. The stunts had the crowd gasping and screaming in delight. I would recommend to locals and visitors alike. What a unique experience! :)
Saw Dear San Francisco on NYE. The perfect evening. There were couples there, families there, friends. This show is for everyone! The whole experience was one of a kind! The feats these very talented artists produce is jaw dropping. The story is playful and fun, the songs are sweet, and the talent. Oh my god. They are so good! We will return, and bring others with us next time.
$6.50 for a small cup of mediocre lukewarm decaf. No waiter in sight after it was served.Show started 22 minutes late.Super tight seating - perfect for viral spreading. No one wearing masks even though the confirmation email says to bring a well fitted mask? That’s the experience, and the show hasn’t even started…It was a terrible way to start a performance that we were really looking forward to and set a poor tone.We thought the acrobatic performers were pretty amazing however, and put on really impressive performances. It was a lovely tribute to SF and represented the diversity and culture of our city. Overall, the show was actually an hour long if you subtract the fluff.I’d appreciate it if the people in charge of production would be more attentive to these aspects of the show in the future.
Wonderful show - terrific energy from all the performers, high level of talent and execution, perfectly-sized venue, plus I legitimately learned about the city. Absolutely worth checking out.
Very cool place. This was a historic theater. They indicated that Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles had been there in the box seats. The theater closed but they reopened as Club Fugazi. The show is strength and acrobatics. They do have food and drinks including alcohol. I do think that kids 6+ would enjoy the show. Little ones, not so much. This can be a pricey event as well.
This show was incredible! Paying homage to all thats San Francisco including the beat poets of North Beach, in an incredibly beautiful restored historic venue... I went with my company team and am going to be getting tickets for my entire family. Bravo/Brava!!!If you want in on the action, sit on the stage, near the front or on the ends of the aisles... but you have to be brave :)This is a MUST SEE!
I’ve seen Dear San Francisco twice now and cannot say enough great things about it. Run, don’t walk, to the best show in SF. Club Fugazi is a perfect venue for the show…great food/drink options and an intimate setting.
One of the BEST nights ever spent in SF! The performance of Dear San Francisco by 7 Fingers at Club Fugazi was spectacular! The acrobatics, the music, the vibe, and the seats on the stage made for the an exciting 90-minutes. Highly recommend. Happy BD to one of the performers- Dom, what a way to celebrate with your family & friends!
What an INCREDIBLE show. I couldn’t look away from the stage I was so entranced. Go to this show and bring everyone you know. “Dear San Francisco” is a love letter to this city by the bay and as a native San Franciscan I can honestly say they nailed it. The venue is also beautiful and the menu is full of yummy treats. I’m already planning a return visit!
Overall an exhilarating and unique experience! Went with family. Similar to the Cirque du Soleil shows in Vegas, which combine storytelling and acrobatics. (I believe the 7 fingers group that put on this show actually originated from the Cirque du Soleil group.) We had seating on stage which sometimes had an obstructed view of the performers. Even though the case, the show incorporated light show projections and unique stage positioning of the performers that were better designed for the people seated offstage while others that were better designed for the people seated onstage, so they really designed the show to provide an enhanced experience for all people in the audience regardless of seating. The atmosphere was child friendly; I saw families with little ones perhaps 7 years and older. A great experience if in the mood for it.
We had an incredible evening at the Dear San Francisco cirque show. The performance is intimate and perfectly curated to showcase the cast’s talent while staying on theme and captivating the whole audience! I didn’t know what to expect for a circus show and was left impressed and awestruck by the cast! Would highly highly recommend!!
I have seen Dear San Francisco three times already and will probably go for more. Anytime it still surprises me. If Beach Blanket Babylon reflected the spirit of San Francisco then, Dear San Francisco is what one could expect in 2022 to do the same thing. Ironic, moving, poetic and incredibly entertaining and acrobatic at the same time. I will go again and I know I will still enjoy it.
I came in with no expectations and was completely blown away by how fantastic the Fugazi experience was. David Dowers welcome speech covered key events that took place at Club Fugazi (e.g., Thelonius Monk recorded Alone in San Francisco here!) rooting the night with depth and history. And on came the fantastic performances one after the other, each one showcasing the graceful athleticism and showmanship of each artist. What I love most was how each piece--from the unicycle, the hanging bar, the Chinese yo-yo, the dual pole work, etc. was infused with personal stories framed against the citys history. It was moving and beautiful, made more poignant by the realization that I will be moving out of the city in less than two weeks. I reflect on how the city has changed and challenged me and how, in my own small way, have done the same in part through two decades of my participation. This is a beautiful production worth seeing whether youre new to San Francisco, a native, or like me, in transition. :heart emoji: @yelpbayarea @clubfugazisf
Club Fugazi is back! The former home of the beloved Beach Blanket Babylon has been reimagined into a space for new experiences. #dearsanfrancisco is part homage to the City’s street performers and artists, part love letter to the best city in the world thrillingly performed by world-renowned circus @the7fingers. There is no bad seat in the house, tickets are reasonably priced, and it is an absolute joy to be in the audience ❤️
Very talented entertainers in an intimate setting. The entire team including server and hosts were very hospitable and kind. Thanks for entertaining our whole family.
Whether you’re a tourist or local, Dear San Francisco is a MUST see. The storyline, the acrobatics, the joy it brings. It’s just incredible.
Absolutely loved the show. The cast was amazing and mesmerizing. It is definitely a show to watch. Every time, you didn’t think they could surprise you with more but they do. We were told it is a 90-min show without intermission but halfway through the show, there was an intermission. But overall, recommend it 💯 .
My family and I recently visited San Francisco from Texas, and we had the pleasure of seeing the show Dear San Francisco at Club Fugazi. We were all blown away by the performance, which was a visually stunning and emotionally powerful celebration of the city. The show is a mix of acrobatics, music, and storytelling, and it takes the audience on a journey through San Franciscos history and culture. We saw performances using Chinese yo yos, soaring on a the trapeze, sliding up and down the poles in nail-biting stunts, juggling hats, and more. We were amazed by the performers strength, grace, and agility. We also enjoyed the music, which ranged from traditional folk songs to modern electronica. But what really made the show special was the storytelling. The performers told stories about the citys founding, its earthquakes, its cultural revolutions, and its current challenges. They also shared personal stories about their own experiences in San Francisco. These stories brought the city to life in a way that no history book could. Our two sons, who are 10 and 11 years old, loved the show. Their favorite part was the Chinese yo-yo and they were thrilled that a performer handed us flowers at the end during a sing-along. My younger son wants to become a performer after seeing the show!We left the show feeling inspired and uplifted. We were reminded of the beauty, resilience, and diversity of San Francisco, and we felt a renewed sense of connection to the city. If youre looking for a unique and unforgettable way to experience San Francisco, I highly recommend Dear San Francisco.
Go watch Dear San FranciscoThe acrobats have an amazing energy and are so very talented. You can see the joy their art brings to them throughout the show. The show is 90 minutes full of fun energy. Its engaging, funny at times, and even thrilling with the stunts. Its money well spent supporting local talent and the SF arts. Highly recommend!
We are San Francisco locals who went to the matinee peformance on February 24th based on the recommendation from other local friends, and trust me, it did not disappoint! Its truly one of those shows that young and old can enjoy. Who doesnt love crazy feats of acrobatic strength and just pure talent? Definitely go - whether you live here full-time or are just visiting.
Went for the 7 fingers of the hand show Dear San Francisco. Beautiful and cozy venue and a tremendous show. Very accommodating and friendly staff and a convivial and approachable performance.
Menu price does not match reality due to presence of junk fees. Adding a separate gratuity or service fee on top of the listed price is inherently dishonest and anti transparent. The venue doesn’t want to list the correct price because the transparency would cause sticker shock. Instead, they would much rather be deceptive instead. Had the Club intended to be truly transparent the menu price would be the full price.Due to their dishonesty, one star.
Great show and great environment. The only thing I would say a negative part was the food and drinks. They need to expand their menu. Buy over all the artist and the show is 5/5
Absolutely amazing show! Kids (6 and 9) loved it too! Impressive performances all around. Must see whether you are a tourist or a local
Amazing!AMAZING.Dear San Francisco by the 7 Fingers was incredible and awe-inspiring. So much energy exploding out of a relatively small stage, but that meant you could be up close and personal with the performers. It just drew you further into their world and made the whole venue their stage. The show was filled with art, dance, music, poetry, comedy, romance, adrenaline, culture, performers from around the world, and above all/my favorite - circus. Aerials, diabolo, pole, tumbling, acrobatics, and more that Ive forgotten the names for. I LOVED this circus show, it superseded all my expectations and I was sad when the 90 minutes came to an end. I asked if I could come back to see it tomorrow!Club Fugazi was a wonderful host, the staff were welcoming and attentive, and I really appreciated the owner’s introduction to hear the legacy of and pay tribute to the historical theater.I want everyone to come see this show. And I want it to be acceptable for me to make this my regular weekend activity.
Wow, absolutely wow. Brilliant experience. We went as a family with kids. The staff was very welcoming, the venue was gorgeous. The show is spectacular, centered around San Francisco. The performers are SO talented ,bringing breathtaking ideas to life, visual ,audio and emotions. A must visit. Thank you club fugazi and the 7ringers . definitely see you soon!
This show is a must see love letter to San Francisco. The artistry and choreography is very moving and they make impossible feats look effortless with unbelievable strength and balance!!
Amazing show at an amazing venue. Feel the love for this great city as circus acrobats and jugglers pull off amazing feats.
Different than Cirque de soleil, “Dear SanFrancisco” is more intimate, modern acrobatic performance. The performers are very multi-talented, professional, and full of humor!Snacks and drinks are available for purchase. The deserts are from local pastries, very tasty and making watching the show more enjoyable.
This review is for a performance of Dear San Francisco. The show was awesome! Its a great tribute to San Francisco and I doubt Ill ever see such a unique show tailored to the city again. Staff is very COVID conscious and friendly. Line to get in might seem long as they check vax cards but it moves quickly. I purchased orchestra seats that were row J, seats 4 & 5 (end seats closest to the wall) and wish their website mentioned an obstructed view as the seats above me blocked the view (see photo) for some of the higher aerial stunts. Luckily seat #3 was empty so I was able to scoot over. Had I known there was going to be an obstructed view I would have purchased different seats. Besides that the website is very helpful on the type of seat you are purchasing. One annoying thing was the devices they use to charge people for food and drinks make beeping noises which are very noticeable during the quieter parts of the show. Its comparable to a phone going off at the movies. Hopefully there is a setting that can be adjusted to turn the noise off or try to use the devices during the louder parts of the show.
Had the most unforgettable experience here with my family. Very kid friendly, incredible artists and felt so very personal. Will definitely be back!
This is for the Dear San Francisco show - it was fantastic! Ive seen many stage performances including several cirque shows, and this was really an exceptional experience. Like others have compared - its a bit like Cirque Du Soleil in your living room. The intimate experience really makes the show that much more mesmerizing as you enjoyably lose yourself in the controlled chaos of acrobatics, circus acts, original music and very only in SF narrative. I thought I would miss the more elaborate costumes and sets from some other shows, but the talented performers took the focus. Highly recommended!
Excellent show and venue! The performance is electric, the vibe is immaculate, the service is friendly, and the seating is comfortable. Looking forward to another visit.
WOW WOW WOW. I went with my partner last night to see Dear San Francisco, A High Flying Love Story and we were absolutely blown away. From beginning to end, our expectations were exceeded. Upon arrival, the staff was friendly and helpful and guided us to our seats. A waitress came and took our food and drink order right at the table and everything came out pretty quickly. They have small plates- we got the focaccia, burrata, and marinated olives and it was perfect to munch on throughout the show. They serve alcohol too. The swivel chairs were very comfortable and the theater was beautiful. And the performers were INCREDIBLE! So talented in so many ways too. We loved the story line, and creativity and fell in love with our beautiful city we call home all over again. I may have even shed a few tears. We can’t wait to go back for the next show. We’ve already told all our friends that they must go.
I hadnt been in Club Fugazi since it housed Beach Blanket Babylon years ago. I was delighted that the club still has the old spark of old time theater when I attended a talk sponsored by The Long Now Foundation in April 2023. I found the acoustics to be satisfactory. The Club also has an excellent service delivering food and beverage right to your seat.
If you like, acrobatics, if you love, San Francisco, if you remember or heard about a time, when San Francisco was focused more on arts and creative expression than tech and AI, then this is a show for you to see.It was amazing. I had front row tickets and what a delight! I’ve been to many Cirque du Soleil performances, and this blew them all the way.Go see it and fall in love again with everything you believe San Francisco can beYou will not be disappointed.
LOVED Dear San Francisco. We went to the show on the last night of one of the performers. Great circus acts and authentic love for this city. The performers seem like they’re having a ton of fun through the whole show. The venue, Club Fugazi, is historic and beautiful inside. Lots of space, so it doesn’t feel Covid claustrophobic. They do not serve alcoholic drinks or snacks — just non-alcoholic.
Amazing performance, gorgeous venue. Definitely worth your time, money and attention. Highly recommended!!
Dear San Francisco was a wonderful aerial, acrobatics show! We had seats towards the front, which was great. We were so close to the performers. Unlike other acrobatics shows, youre right up close and personal with the artists. I was so impressed by this team and felt there is so much heart in their performance. You can feel it the whole way through. Definitely the best local show performance Ive seen, the cast is incredibly talented.
Very entertaining and enjoyable. I really liked the history of the building. The performers were exceptional.
We had a great time seeing Dear San Francisco! The show made us laugh, cry and feel so many emotions. The acrobatics were super impressive and the performers were great. It was an amazing balance of intimate and casual with professional and polished. After seeing the show, we spent the next 3 days telling all of our friends to see it too! Im excited to come back with family and friends to see the show again and share the experience! I would give this a second 5 star review if I could. Highly recommend!!!!
This show is fantastic. I went knowing nothing about it and was blown away. Then took my parents when they visited and they couldn’t stop talking about it. Go!
Highly recommend! Its an incredible show created by the amazing acrobats who used to be a part of the Cirque Du Soleil team. Its an impressive, beautiful, emotional, and touching love letter to San Francisco that stays with you. I loved the show and Im definitely going to come back with my friends and family. Its a must-see show especially if you live in San Francisco :)
Absolutely incredible show! So much talent, ingenuity, and entertainment in one show. A must see!
Its hard to say from being there for my first time if it is best to sit on stage or up front in the audience. These folks are just amazing! The performance is so dynamic for Dear San Francisco. Their captain has personality! They all have personality. They come off as a well pulled machine. Like a group of friends just messing around. They talk to each other! During the performance like they have this deeper connection than just the performance. The juggling, the dancing, the acrobatics, the acting, the poetry aaaaaand talent hands down better than most Ive seen. They are accommodating when you ask them, and the staff are polite when responding in kind.I am disappointed that the juggling balls I bought for my kid broke after a couple of uses, but they look really nice.Dear San Francisco, you have got what we want, and I thank you for a wonderful evening.I bombard friends with many texts telling them all to go see this show! And so should YOU! 🥳🤯
The experience was amazing. I had no idea what to expect and it blew away anything I could describe. A full 90 minutes of fun and awe inspiring stunts. The performers are so talented and pushed their physical limits with every act. . The staff is super friendly too. Definitely go see the show if you’re in San Francisco.
Incredible show! We have driven up from Santa Cruz three times already to see Dear SF. As soon as we leave we start planning the next trip back to see it again. The performers are stunning - so much talent and energy. Everyone should see this show.
Do not miss this show! It was amazing in every way possible. There were stellar performances, excellent story telling, exciting and exhilarating acrobatic performances. Its beyond words, you just need to see the show. It would be wonderful if there was standing room only forever and for this show to usher in a wonderful world of circus and acrobatic showmanship to put San Francisco on the map and attract the glory that every member of the cast deserves. I would like to look forward to Dear San Francisco to take the honored place of Beach Blanket Babylon and live long into the future. Again, dont miss this show.
Have been twice so far and really enjoyed it both times. Each time there was some of the same, but also new, and I could feel the way the artists and director are staying present and adjusting and adding, based on the players. I loved the hoop dance in the most recent version. Wow, incredible skill and talent. Very fun for bringing out of town folks. We walked from the ferry terminal very easily.
Dear San Francisco is such a fantastic show. The cast are fire! Genuinely nice, incredibly talented and the content of the show is surprising and inspiring. I recommend this for locals, natives and tourists alike. Seriously, a breathtaking experience. And the staff are also incredibly kind. Overall awesomeness!
My 9 year old said to give it 5 stars. I agree! Our 6 year old enjoyed it as well, and was particularly happy to receive a piece of candy and a flower from the performers. We had seats on the stage, which was a really cool experience for our family. It was amazing to be so close to all the performers, and they do a fantastic job of performing for any angle you are watching from. The theater is small, so truthfully, you could sit anywhere and have a great view. The acts were daring and exciting and the performers are a wonderful team who take great care of each other as they perform their many challenging acts. The themes are so very San Francisco, and for natives and long time residents of The City, you will have a little chuckle as the performances highlight the more salient eras of The City. Some of the themes may be a bit mature for kids, but they are mostly heavily hinted at and not explicit in any way, or the topic is way over their heads, and they wont quite get it for years. We are so lucky to have a crew of world class Cirque performers doing shows as residents in the bay! See them, support them, bring your friends! It will be wonderful if we can keep this crew right here at home and not have to wait for them to come through on tour.
Really enjoyed this show! We went to see Dear San Francisco on Mothers Day and it was a super fun experience, great for all ages. I loved how it played homage to San Francisco and the performers were wonderful! GO SEE THIS SHOW!
This show is absolutely incredible! I plan to go at least one or two more times before it closes in July. An amazing cast of seven charismatic, engaging performers share their joy and love for circus skills with their audience in an incredibly intimate setting. The performances are absolutely mind-blowing. Splurge for the front row seats - you will not regret it.
Dear San Francisco was AMAZING!! I absolutely loved it, and so did my friends. My parents went to see the show a couple of months ago, and they loved it! I took my friends as a way to celebrate all of our birthdays, and we are all born and raised in SF. What a beautiful representation of SF in its entirety! It is an absolute must-see!
An absolutely spellbinding performance. I came expecting to see amazing acrobatics, but was caught off guard by the waves of humor, love, and nostalgia that reminded me of everything I love about our city. Audience members are invited to write their own postcards to SF before the show, and I was thrilled that mine was selected to be read as part of the performance! I laughed, I cried, I can’t wait to see this show again! And I will be bringing all my friends and out of town visitors too. Thanks to the incredible performers and to everyone who has worked so hard to bring so much love, beauty and joy back to this iconic SF venue!
The Dear San Francisco show was 10 out of 10. It was so good that if there had been a second show that evening we would have seen it again. The atmosphere, acrobatics, storyline, and connection between the performers and the audience in such an intimate setting were all outstanding.
I LOVED Dear San Francisco- I can’t say enough good things about this show. It’s truly San Francisco in that our city was created by people drawn here from far and wide, daring people who live passionately, whether they fit into a mould or not.The strength, skill, talent, bravery, mastery, and sheer beauty of these performers is world class.I’ve seen a lot of circus performances over the years and can easily say this is a favorite. I will be bringing as many people to see this as I possibly can.The theater is lovely, the desserts delicious, and every staff member we interacted with was delightful.
5 stars, 11/10, 100% SO GOOD.I saw the 7 Fingers Dear San Francisco last night and cannot recommend enough, in fact I am looking forward to seeing it again. The venue is gorgeous and intimate, every seat provides a great view. The performers are incredible - strong, talented, and bring the audience right into the show.In addition the team supporting the event is helpful and friendly, full service for delicious drinks and food.
My husband and I came to the Dear San Francisco performance with another couple to celebrate two birthdays. After all the bad press about how awful San Francisco is doing, its easy to forget what is unique and lovable about the city. This show is a good reminder of how so many of us came here searching for a cultured and meaningful life. We found it here. This show is a celebration of that with choreographed acrobatic numbers that leave you breathless, marvelous hoola hoop and Chinese yo-yo numbers, and a story of love that connects it all. I have been recommending this show to my friends and will be coming back with a group of them.
We absolutely loved Dear San Francisco. This show was amazing. We had such a great time. It was a very touching show and brought tears to a few of our eyes throughout the performance. The performers were incredible and they looked like they were having such a fun time. We highly recommend this show.
My family of 4 (one 5 year old and one 3 year old) had the best time! We are going to go again, this time to take family visiting from the UK. The athletes are incredible, the club is steeped in history and very atmospheric, great food and drinks, great vibe, and some amazing positivity that SF sorely needs. Loved it!Edit: One consideration for caretakers bringing children is ear defenders. Neither of my kids had them (and one of my kiddos is autistic) and did fine, but for more sensory sensitive little ones could be a good idea. Overall the environment was not too overstimulating though. My kids were entranced the whole time and my daughter even got into clapping with the audience for the first time in her life, it was really sweet. They talked about the acrobats and how amazing they were all day.
Absolutely phenomenal performance. It was raw. So personal and so authentic. I absolutely loved every second of this show. Im very familiar with the world of aerial arts and what I loved so much about Fugazi isnt the makeup or the outfits or everything based on looks. It was just REAL. It was relatable. The performers put their heart and soul into it and I honestly cant recommend this show enough. I promise you wont regret investing in the circus community by seeing this show.
The aerobatic performance was nothing short of exhilarating, showcasing precision, skill, and a thrilling display of maneuvers that left the audience in awe. The seamless coordination and daring stunts truly made for a memorable and captivating experience.
As locals who loved Beach Blanket Babylon, we werent sure what to expect when we bought our tickets to attend Dear San Francisco. But as we watched it unfold, we couldnt keep track of the ways it made us cheer, gasp, and grin at what human skill, storytelling, and collaboration can achieve .Somehow this show gave us the chance to enjoy the awe-inspiring talent of Cirque du Soleil condensed into a magically intimate experience where we felt like we got to know each and every amazing performer and feel their joy. There are lots of ways to have fun at home. But Dear San Francisco answers the question of what brilliant live performances are for -- why they so uniquely make us feel wonderful and alive. Go. Youre in for a fantastic evening filled with so many delightful feels. These folks -- and what theyve created for this city -- are brilliant. Youre in for a treat!
Absolutely incredible! The best show I have seen in year. The acrobats were amazing, what’s more, their joy and team work was palpable. I couldn’t believe some of the feats they performed! They made it look so easy! This was one of the most enjoyable experiences of 2022. Run, don’t walk, to see Dear San Francisco!
Amazing amazing show. Had to see it twice. Went once with colleagues and a second time with my employees. Everyone loved it. A great show for locals and visitors. They serve food and drinks from local purveyors before and during the show. Everything about this show is done well: the performance, ode to SF, the food, the service of the ushers and servers. I hope this becomes the next BBB of SF and has a long long run at Club Fugazi!
Amazing show with circus acts, dancing, and story telling all wrapped into one! We just arrived in SF and thought this would be a beautiful introduction to the city and we were right! We purchased stage seats which were incredible, the performers were all around us the entire time. We got there early and lucked out as we were seated next to a former employee of Club Fugazi who was able to tell us more about the club history and the Beach Blanket Babylon, the former show that ran for 25 years pre-covid, which we found so interesting. The club itself looked amazing! There really wasnt a bad seat in the entire house. The only draw back to our stage seating was that it was difficult to see the acrobats done at the top of the pole, since the roof of the backstage blocks them once they climb high enough. With that said, I still think the stage seating was the way to enjoy the show and missing 5 seconds of the pole action doesnt take away from the overall immersive experience. The story they tell is beautiful and passionate. You can tell this is performed by people who genuinely love what they do and it really feels like they love eachother just as much. Watching them goof around during the show and cheer eachother on showed me that they are not just friends, but more like family. Its really beautiful when that translates on stage. With stage seating, a few things to note: you cant get up during the performance so use the washroom when you arrive. There was a brief 3 minute intermission at one point where they let the stage seated guests run to the washroom, but the line formed quickly. Plan wisely! Our server was great and was very attentive to us throughout the show. They would choose their moments carefully so theyre not interrupting the performance in anyway and would come check in on us for more drink/food order. I ended up getting the gelato (strawberry creme fraiche!) and a Blood Orange pop - both were really good! My boyfriend ordered a beer. The menu is limited so its not to be considered as a dinner and show place - its a snack and a show! The bar serves beer and wine (and mimosa I believe). I wish there were some cocktails personally, since I dont drink beer or wine. The Blood Orange drink was really tasty - I kind of wish they offered that with a shot of vodka - that would also be delicious! My favourite part of the whole experience was the post cards. The ones read on stage made me tear up. Its so clear that SF has been a safe haven for so many people from different walks of life. SF just accepts you as you are and supports the crazy dreams you might have! It was really special to hear why the city has meant so much to so many people. My love letter to SF now includes this beautiful show and everything it made me feel.Thank you 7Fingers for the incredible show!
Five. Stars. absolutely - for all the acrobatic performances. Seeing that up close in a small, beautiful theater was electrifying. Being able to have food and drinks is also a fun element in a show like that. However, be aware that there’s no storyline and the little bits of acting and singing are, sweet but not at a professional level. I think the show needs to focus on building more drama with the physical work because the other elements were lacking. The attempt at a comedy segment about the tech bro didn’t work at all so that needs to get completely re-thought out.
My family celebrated a night out on the town by attending the Dear SF show last Friday evening. We were on the edges of our seats with huge smiles on our faces throughout the entire show! The cast is delightful, talented, expressive, and endlessly energetic and acrobatic. This show is not to be missed. Its a beautiful love letter to our beloved SF. Bravo, brava!
Wow, what a night! If I could give 10 stars, I would. I have seen a 7 fingers performance before, but seeing it in an intimate venue like this is even more amazing. The performers have extraordinary skills and their charisma shines from the stage. Being able to eat and drink during the performance makes for a fun night. I will definitely be back with others who will love this!
Dear San Francisco,My bestie and I were touring in San Fran for a week. This was one of my favourite things we did! If you are from the area or are visiting and haven’t been to Club Fugazi, you are missing out on a fantastic show! It’s cirque du soleil but up close and personal! Add in humour, personal cast stories and letters from the audience and you’ll be laughing and crying and saying what?!?! How?!?! Omg?!?! The entire show.Amaaaaze-balls! Loved it all
What an amazing experience and show! My fiance and I went here for a date night and had a fantastic time! The artists are incredibly talented and the show is heartfelt, fast paced and highly entertaining! I recommend this show to locals and visitors .
Just saw Dear San Francisco here after seeing Beach Blanket Babylon over 10 times before it closed. Dear San Francisco was AMAZING. The talented ensemble were AMAZING, and I cant believe I hadnt heard about it before. The message, beautiful theater and talented acrobats/musicians will take your breath away. Could not recommend this any more highly! You really must see it!
Club Fugazi provides an outstanding theater experience! The venue is always in great condition. The shows are always phenomenal. The food and drink menu are decent.Additionally, the shows have been out of this world! My partner and I have seen both Ennio and Dear San Francisco; frankly, I cant decide which we enjoyed more. Also, go see Dear San Francisco as soon as possible. You wont be disappointed. The acrobatics and overall shows production quality make for an exceptional evening.
This was the COOLEST show ever! My husband and I were visiting San Francisco when we heard about this show. We were so amazed at every performance. The staff was amazing at taking care of us with food and drinks, and the actors/performers were very inclusive with the audience. Our jaws were dropped in amazement throughout the entire show. This was worth every penny, and we are already making plans to come back wit some friends.
Great up close acrobats. Performers seemed to have nice persoalities and enjoed what they were doing.
Saw Dear San Francisco today. Fantastic show! Entertainment for all. The ensemble performed remarkable feats with precise timing and often a bit of whimsy or a serious tone. It was clear that they loved doing what they do and the crowd loved it.
I literally had tears in my eyes the whole show because it was so exciting. 9 artists/athletes/musicians/actors/acrobats/dancers perform a 90 minute show of non-stop talent. Bodies flying through the air, jumping through hoops, dropping from the ceiling, juggling, tumbling with extreme athleticism and then poetry, ballads, and beautiful dance. All dedicated to San Francisco.I noticed that throughout the performance I was clapping non-stop OVER my head (Ive never done that before). And I screamed a few times in terror. There are no bad seats in this tiny theater, however I was able to watch the performance from the front row and it was a whole different experience. Performers flying through the air, inches from my face. I could see the hand marks on their skin from being caught by the other acrobats. Their muscles and sweat. The floor would pound every time they landed, and many landings were off the stage and into the isles. Now I have to go again and sit in a different seat for another perspective.Hands down the best show Ive ever seen.
Fantastic show!! It is incredible how these athletes are able to perform such difficult things back to back for an hour and a half. Very good story telling. The dance choreo made me cry. I would watch it again and I think everyone that lives in sf should at least watch it once
We saw the acrobatic show “Dear San Francisco” with the Seven Fingers circus troupe, and it was breathtaking! Fabulous physical talent and training, but also a sweet, intimate, funny, and endearing performance. And what a wonderful historic venue. Don’t miss this while you’re in SF!
This was one of the most enjoyable evenings we have had in a very long time!! The athlete/performers who are the cast of this spectacle execute some of the most amazing physical feats in an extremely confined space -- and make them look effortless. and they are executed to perfection! The performers are very adept at including the audience in the show which is a huge plus.BRAVO/BRAVA to this outstanding troupe!Pat and Rick (the anniversary couple on 10/13)
I have seen this show twice now and am blown away by it every time. It hits all the emotions with laughter, tears and awe. I feel in love with SF again after each show and in living here sometimes SF can be brutal but Im reminded of all the beauty and history of this city. The acrobats are incredible and the feeling of trust and camaraderie is palpable. Whether you are a visitor or if you live here the show will leave your heart full of SF love.
Superb! Entertaining from from the first to the last second.. really can’t recommend this show enough - don’t miss it.
Great performance with a talented international cast. The performance celebrates San Francisco, its history and neighborhoods. It’s an ode to how warm and welcoming the city is, and combines literature, circus, dance, music, and video arts. The artists are incredible. Kids friendly plus you can order food and drinks from your seat!
Saw Dear San Francisco and the theater is gorgeous, the show was INCREDIBLE. Will definitely be returning
The boys and I loved the show dear San Francisco, a cirque experience that is dazzling, exciting and funny all rolled into one performance. Amazing work done by the 7 fingers. Club Fugazi also provided top quality service and had really friendly staff. Highly recommend for anyone living in San Francisco or just paying a visit!
This was a terrific San Francisco experience that should be a “must” for every visitor and resident. I returned to San Francisco after moving away seven years ago, and I was thrilled that the historic Fugazi was once again back in action after the heartbreaking end of Beach Blanket Babylon. The Seven Fingers were spectacular performers! Amazing athletes, real and so involved with the audience. Please see this show and spread the word so they continue into 2023!
Awesome! Fantastic entertainment from very skilled performers. A great night out.
“Dear San Francisco” by 7 Fingers is an amazing show of superhuman feats performed by artists and musicians. Imagine your newest best friends are members of Cirque du Soleil and they spontaneously decide to show you their show in your home. It’s personal, it’s thrilling, touching and a tribute to San Franciscans past and present.Marvelous! The venue is well-loved and preserved. The staff are all attentive and friendly.
This show really exceeded my expectations. It was incredible! I have been to a fair amount of Cirque shows so I wasnt sure what theyd be able to do in such a small venue, but they did things I havent seen before and with incredible talent and artistry. It was also a beautiful tribute to San Francisco which elevated the whole show. Go to this show if you can!!!
I ADORE the Dear San Francisco show put on by the 7 Fingers Circus. I have seen the show 4 times over 2 years and every time there are new acts, different performers, and improvements to existing acts. It tells a story about our relationship with the city, about how our neighbors relate to our city, and about how our city holds us all in return. A MUST SEE for any SF native or transplant.
I was visiting from Toronto to watch Dear San Francisco. As soon as I entered the space, I was immediately welcomed and taken care of on a personal level by staff member. The venue is incredible with rich history. I felt safe and I was made aware of fire exits and security procedures. Would definitely go back and recommend to my friends and family.
Hello San Francisco was so much more than expected. We had front row seats on the stage. What an experience! The acrobats were incredible. We are looking forward to seeing the show again.
What a show!! DEAR SAN FRANCISCO is a delightful combination of a bit of San Francisco history, a taste of Beat poetry and AMAZING acrobatics. My family attended the matinee and all of us, including my four year old granddaughter, were enthralled by the performance.I highly recommend the show to everyone. If you have guests from out of town its a great place to take them as theyll love the show and when its over you have the fun of North Beach just out the door.
Dear San Francisco, playing at Club Fugazi, is a terrific show. Acrobatics, music, visuals and choreography combine to tell stories from San Francisco. It is a small intimate stage, and the performers come out into the audience. There were times I was holding my breath, or my cheeks hurt from smiling at the joy of the performers, and few moments tears.
An elite circus performance--by lovely HUMANS!! You will be uplifted from the moment you walk into the historic venue by a caring staff, enjoy the tastefully curated menu, and feel reconnected to all that SF has meant to generations of pioneering creatives. This show is a gift to us all--THANK YOU Seven Fingers and Fugazi faithful!!
Went there under recommendation of a friend, and it was mind blowing. The whole family enjoyed the show so much we look forward to seeing more from 7 Fingers in the future, including come back for Dear San Francisco show! So bad we are from Italy, we may have to wait a bit... but if the tradition still last strong, the show will run for long long time, history will tell.Dont think more and go there, you will just love it.
Magnificent show! As its name implies, Dear San Francisco is a love letter to the City by the Bay. The story is told through acrobatic feats set to music and poetry that captures and elevates the spirit of San Francisco. Its a worthy successor to Beach Blanket Babylon. May Dear San Francisco run as long!
Very San Francisco experience. Great acrobatics. Basic food and cocktail options. I suggest getting cheaper side seats as the experience was very good there. Groups of more than 3 people should sit in 2 rows so that you can talk in a circle.
It was a surprise plan and I had a great time. The show Dear San Francisco is amazing. The acrobats are incredible. The sing, they dance, recite poetry, they go up and down giant poles, they jump. We liked the story, very entertaining and the 90 minutes flew by. We will repeat again for sure!
7 Fingers show is fantastic. We went Christmas week and just loved the performance. Highlights: small venue without a bad seat in the house. Acrobatic show was breath-taking and went on for a full 90 minutes. You’re very close to the 8-10 incredibly talented performers on a small stage. The show is largely acrobatics, but with great music and poetry. The performers team up beautifully and have great fun which adds to the enjoyment. Don’t miss it! It’s well worth the price. We may go again as we enjoyed it so much.
Such an amazing, interactive show that blends athleticism, beautiful circus forms, deep story telling, and the history and feelings of San Francisco. The staff are also so incredible here and we had excellent service from the owner talking to us, the performers engaging with us during and after the show, to interactive post cards that everyone submits describing their “dear San Francisco” moments. Thank you for having us!
