Great bar, crowd and impeccable cocktails.Sadly, had to leave due to an asthma attack triggered by one of the plants. I would review those plants and ensure they are hypoallergenic! Also, as a dj myself, I was expecting a better sound system for such a nice place! If they invest into a better sound system it would be perfect.Wish I could say I’ll come back but I cannot due to the plants! Thanks for the great service nonetheless — Great people
The vibes of the place were great and the bartenders were nice and attentive. The DJ was pretty bad - notably poor transitions but good song selection. It became a bit of a running joke, but we stuck around for the overall environment. The downside was the automatic 18% tip as part of the bill. The bartender thankfully let me know over the loud music. I was glad she did - as I was ready to drop cash into their tip jar. I didnt see the 18% inclusion mentioned on the drinks menu, but I may have missed it.
If your reading this don’t get involved in this lifestyle or going to these kind of bars. You can do a lot of other things in this world and It wouldn’t be considered a sin or breaking the laws in heaven where Jesus is but going to these kinds of bars is one of those places or lifestyle that is does break the laws. That’s why going to church is the best way to know what is going on and to save your soul. Even just not sinning is a good way but your really need Jesus because he’s the only savior.
MANDATORY 18% Tip on every drink and they dont even tell you. They tell you at the end when they finish serving it to you and youre about to pay Ridiculous, they should tell you before... so outrageous! And they have the audacity to pull out the option for more tip NO A/C I went on Saturday, was packed like sardines with no A/C. It took an hour to go inside! You would think with a long line and wait to go inside that it would be a good bar! They only played YT People Music it was so boring. Regret waiting in line for that long for a boring time. Also watch out , a young girl got roofied inside that bar when I was there. Not saying its the bars fault but they did kick her out of the bar instead of making sure she was okay. The poor girl was clearly in pain and out of it. Never again. Also a bunch of straight girls taking over LESBIAN BARS. Talk about Gaytrificationnnnnnn
Unfortunately will never be coming back here. They kicked my friend out for “stumbling” and she had not even had 2 drinks. Came for my birthday to support the queer fam and will literally never come back. The bartender’s name is Ash. Sucks because I wanted to like this place because it’s so cute but I will never come back because of this. Note for the manager, my friend said Ash was the one who served her the last drink which she only drank a quarter of it before she told us to leave. So if she thought she was “too drunk” she shouldn’t have served her. 🤷🏻♂️. Not to mention on their instagram page they reposted people smoking joints on the dance floor. So publicly smoking marijuana is legal here but having 1.25 drinks will get you kicked out
Exceedingly crowded. I am a bartender and i found the way the bartenders behaved very weird because they pointed me to the tip button saying 18% and yeah normally id tip that (i still did anyway) but its a bit rude to demand a tip in any service job. Due to the crowding there was a lot of side eyeing going around the crowd which kind of sucked to be around. I likely wont return.
I loved this place!! I came on a regular friday night around 10:30 and it was super busy with a ton of really welcoming queer women* plenty of people both talking and dancing, and still a few places to sit and take a breather. drinks were expensive but not much more than I expected. follow their instagram to find out about their events. I’ll definitely be back!!
As a newcomer to the LA bar scene it was a solid first bar. I just returned from living abroad and wanted to go to a gaybar after a pitiful lesbian scene in Asia. The atmosphere was nice but got crowded towards the end and it felt hard to mingle with others at times. I didnt drink but my friend said her drink felt watered down. Bartenders were very nice though. The music was lacking until the end of the night but at the point it was a bit hard to enjoy. The back room wasnt open which definitely didnt help. I would probably come back to check out some weekday events rather than for a weekend dancing experience. 7.5/10. parking was a bit tough but i parked at the home depot across the street for 5 hours with no issue.
Pictures speak for themselves, this place is a very cool looking spot. The DJ was great too. The only downer I found was the automatic tip added to your total when buying drinks.
Great spot for my girlfriends and I. The bouncers are great to chat with as you wait in line, which has never been too long. The bartenders are really friendly and usually up for chatting as they make your drinks.
Rude service ever. Unprofessional, unfriendly. I dont expext this from lgbtq venue and actually or thankfully that never happened anywhere else.Second time being here and its always the same. Bartender dont greet u when they see u at the bar , they just come across you in a not welcoming way, just to ask you what do u want to order. If you take ur time to check the menu or ask a few questions about drinks listed they just start to have an attitude. I am a bartender as well and this is really the opposite behavior you should have when working behind the bar. Bar was not even packed. It was just 2 people including me trying to order. Of course they didnt get tipped from me and I made sure they saw it when I pressed no tip on the pos!!
A welcome new spot for the queer community in LA. Honey’s at Star Love is the breath of fresh air after too many nights out in Weho— the design is stellar, drinks are solid, music is excellent, and vibes are immaculate.
Great vibe, good music, small dance floor but it works, great drinks, super super low key and feels like a hidden gem hole in a wall type of place. The outside doesn’t look much but just look for the guard out front and then you’ll know you’re at the right place
Has a $15 cover now which I dont think is worth it. Music was pretty terrible
Great vibes all around! Drinks are all made too!
Spent a night singing Karaoke with friends and had a blast. Service was friendly, courteous, and prompt.
Great djs & cocktails & vibes!!!
Protecting this place at all costs!!! The Lesbian dance scene is officially back
Isn’t it Queer to have a space here? Highly recommend!
I’m really surprised at all the negative reviews. My friends and I went on a Friday night, no cover charge, and the DJ was DJing. We had a great time! Will definitely be back!
A great place, I had a great evening, the staff are very friendly.Atmosphere is great. Thank you ❤️
