Massage Envy

Masseuses were nice but the massage was only 50 minutes. This place considers your sign in and there cleanup routine as part of your 1 hour which is disappointing. I get massages at least 1 a month and this was the first location to not honor the full hour you pay for. I also had a gift card from another location and they refused to assist with the so-called activation issue since it was purchased from another location. They said the manager would be in touch but after no contact I decided to reach out to no response or returned messages from the manager. The manager was also not ever at the location the clerk claimed they were scheduled to be. Instead of receiving a relaxing couples massage as a gift for Christmas, I ended up paying $90 for two 50 minute massages. This place has potential but their lack of commitment to their customer is not worth your time or money at the end of the day. The parking does not help for a relaxing experience either. Id only recommend if youre desperate, live in the area, and walking by foot. Plenty of other spas that make you feel 100% rejuvenated and honor your full time.

I received a Deep Tissue massage from Maria on 7/11/24. Going into my massage, I had some tension in my shoulder that I was aware of. However, Maria identified two knots in my lower back as well and was able to release them, as well. A day later, my body feels loose and pain-free. Thank you so much, Maria!

Wonderful experience all around. The location is gorgeous and the check-in staff was very friendly and welcoming. I booked via phone and they made it very easy, and I had a massage with Shelese. Very professional and knowledgeable. She helped educate me on where I was feeling pain and it was a very relaxing experience. I’d highly recommend dropping by!

Was staying in a hotel around the corner and booked a last minute massage because my back was bothering me. Brianna was fantastic. The pressure and focus points were exactly what I asked for, and she easily found the tension and knots I needed worked on. I had the last appointment time before they closed, but both Brianna and the front desk were still very warm and friendly.

Always a great therapeutic and relaxing time when I go there. Erica is excellent at Strecthing and usually I get medium to hard massage. She knows how to adjust for me.

I have been coming to Massage Envy for a while now and it took me time to find a therapist that really helps with my pain. Joseph has been incredible. He really takes the time to assess for every spot that is causing me trouble and takes the time to work on it. That was exactly what I needed and it helps me significantly. Post baby and c section my body has felt like its fallen apart and I get to at least have some help with it every month. I always feel great the next day. Thank you Joseph!

Im a first-timer to Massage Envy, and I would definitely go back. The place was so cute, relaxing, and clean. My therapist was Shelese, and she was super friendly, polite, and did an amazing job. I felt super relaxed after my massage that it was such a mood changer.

I had a great massage at Massage Envy DTLA location. Jonathan was my masseuse. He listened very carefully to my needs and was able to meet my expectations without any correction or change during the session.

I got my friend a facial to this location and he went today. He said the staff was really nice however he said he was taken to the back at 653 and then the session ended at 725. As he was paying he asked if it was an hour. The cashier looked down at her time and awkwardly realised it was barely 730 as she was ringing him out. It was pretty obvious his session was only 30 minutes as I picked him up at 734 and his appointment was at 7. Anyways point is is that if the session is for an hour then I would of hoped we got the hour. Great staff. Great customer service just short time. We get that theres 5 minutes at beginning and 5 at end to get ready but he clearly only got a 30 minute session. It was his first time and I really wanted it to be special. He liked it but he wasnt pleased with the price for the time. Neither was I.

The experience was amazing. The facility is not only historical and beautiful, but clean. The staff is so friendly and professional. I left feeling like a new person. The massage therapist, Marsha is the best! I have already booked another appointment.

Had a massage today with Marina and it was amazing!! Very relaxing! I asked for medium pressure and she found all the knots on my shoulders and work them out! The building is very nice and very welcoming!

I hate giving one stars, but this truly was one of the worst massages Ive ever received.She kept needing reminders about pressure and she would spend 10 minutes in a single spot with one hand using the same motions. At first I thought she was just on her phone, but when I looked, she was falling asleep! I couldnt tell if she was baked or just extremely tired. But she even forgot to do one whole leg. I had to ask!I honestly left more frustrated and tense than when I came in. When the time was up, she faintly said thanks and bolted out the door. Didnt see her after that.

CLAUDIA! CLAUDIA! CLAUDIA!I came here for a deep tissue massage and got exactly that and then some! As a dancer and working professional who spends a great deal of time on their feet, I get massages to relieve tension and to stay mobile. I love firm pressure and Claudia is VERY STRONG even for a muscled athlete like myself. I would say she’s stronger than many of the male masseuse I have gone to.If you’re looking to get a deep tissue, ASK FOR CLAUDIA! SHE IS AMAZING!!!

I’ve been a member for half a year now. Unfortunately, the quality of masseuses is unreliable. Sometimes my massage is amazing, other times it is mediocre. You can’t depend on your favorites being available consistently, so you’re forced to take a $160+ gamble on a new masseuse.

Great quick service, good massages, very new and updated. Same service as any massage envy but everything is brand new. Great building as well, they incorporated the beauty of the older building and brought in a little more modern look. Perfect.

Vivian is very gifted. Ive been going to her for several months and I feel comfortable not wearing foundation. She also keeps my skin youthful on top of clear. She has decades of experience and its noticable. She can analyze your skin and start a regimen that will get you obvious results. I go in for an hour and leave with a few layers cleared.

Claudia is an immensely talented deep tissue massage therapist - best i have ever experienced. The massage feels like she is totally intuitive to what is causing me discomfort. She has helped release my hips, shoulders, neck - etc. Not to mention an extremely kind person, and she is very easy to talk to. Fantastic experience with her every time.

Erica is outstanding. I am an older man who is very active and still participate in various sports. I have some physical ailments from years of this behavior and have every intention of continuing albeit with hard-earned wisdom. On two separate occasions in the past year, I was in distress and concerned that I could seriously injure myself unless I did some focused rehab. Erica helped me get over these setbacks and then with some isometrics and stretching, I recovered quickly. She is one of those remarkable individuals that is a natural healer. Hello, I came now. I have an appointment at 7 o’clock, but the door is closed. I rented a car for $20, an Uber, but it is closed. I called in advance to postpone the appointment. I refused by phone, despite my fatigue. I showed up and found it closed. I am now standing in the rain with the security man. It is a sad thing. I will return with an Uber, worth $20. I was in today for a massage and facial. This review is for the facial only. (My massage with Erica was fantastic!) Ive been here before for facials and was not impressed as the woman just looks to upsell you and do the microdermabrasion. (A less than 50 minute treatment as well, more on that in a few.) After getting good facials at other ME locations, I noticed this DTLA location (walking distance for me, the reason i signed up for a membership in the first place) had a new esthetician. So i figured i would try her. The front desk asked me about add ons and i agreed to the hand and foot scrubs. I meet with the estethician and she goes over my concerns and standard questions. I specifically say i enjoy the relaxation aspect, but also need extactions cause my nose is a problem. We begin and she cleans my face and looks at it (under normal room lighting, not the upclose bright light they normally use). She mentions an oxygenation treatment and I agree. Well i didnt realize that meant my session would be 25 minutes and include no extractions. She finished and said shed meet me up front. She never even handed me a mirror. I get up front and go to pay. The receptionist asked if i received the add ons and i said no. (She probably was wondering why I was already at the desk at 5:30.) I said that was fine, but arent facials 60 (50 for dressing/discussing) minutes? She said it varied based on the treatment type. Well that is not mentioned anywhere and was never said. The treatment time is listed as 50 minutes for a customized facial. And because facials are a step by step process, it wasnt like I could ask for her to give me my additional 25 minutes. Again, i loved my massage and have always received great massages from a variety of masseuses here, but the facials it seems like theyre just doing the bare minimum and trying to upsell you whenever they can. (The treatment I received was not an upcharge - which makes it almost odder that it wouldnt be the 50 minutes as it was a customized facial.)

Ive been going to this Massage Envy location for years. Its a wonderful experience. Ive never had a bad masseuse, but my go-tos are Erika for deep massage, and Marina for medium pressure massage. The operating hours are convenient. Good location and parking validation offered.

It was my first time to visit Massage Envy in the LA location. I was given a GC last Christmas and it was noted in that GC that it can only be used in the Beverly Hills or LA location. Of course, being only 20 minutes away from where I live, I chose to go to the LA one.It’s hard to find a masseuse that will satisfy your body needs. The one that will give you sense of relief when they hit the focal point of your body tissue. Tracy B. did a great job. She made me feel relaxed and relieved from all the stress and pain that I had been feeling. I wish our session could’ve been longer but my prepaid GC is only for an hour. Will probably reactivate my membership and go to this location.If you’re in the LA area and want a relaxing massage, look for Tracy B. 😊

Unsure how this place has 4.4 stars, I’m convinced the employees are writing these reviews.Friend and I went in for a 60 minute and got what ended up being a 30 min massage. Was still charged the absurd amount of $145. Showed up at 5:03, paperwork and “consultation” took about 20 minutes, massage was finished at 5:55.This location is beautiful, but It seems that their entire business operates on scamming customers out of their money (they have a recent lawsuit). I should have done my research on this place before booking.Won’t be coming back nor do I recommend visiting this or any Massage Envy location.

I love Marina, she gives great massage and during my last treatment I requested bio freeze and was getting uncomfortable from the cold and she even went out of her way to get my warm towels to clean it off and changed my sheets once I turned over because the gel got on my chest and arms. I only wish I could request earlier appointments in advance. I have class at noon this quarter and would love to see her at 10am

Erica is such good energy, and I always leave feeling more refreshed than I expected to. Her firm pressure is able to work out all of the built up knots in my muscles and leave my body ready to take on the month.

Staff is wonderful, friendly, helpful, polite and very professional. This location is super convenient when I’m at the office in person. These regular massage sessions are like servicing my car lol gotta do the maintenance to keep it all working. The massage therapists are all very skillful and professional.

I really was hoping I was going to have a good experience here. A few things: First, they lost my initial reservation. Sometimes that happens, just an inconvenience and had to reschedule. Once I did, I booked an hour and since it was my first time, I was to get a free aroma therapy add on. That didnt happen. The whole experience was super transactional, and it seemed they were rushing me in and out.Firstly, The 60 minutes was only 45 minutes and I was assured this would be the full 60 mins.Secondly, I didnt receive any aroma therapy. Truly bait and switch.Thirdly, I asked for firm and to focus on my back. I received very soft and they spent only 15 mins on the back.I feel worse and more stressed and confused coming out of this than I did going in. I get regular massages and since Ive recently moved to the area, I was hoping to find a new spot. This was one of the most disappointing massage experiences Ive had, unfortunately. I feel scammed and cheated :(.I understand why corporate places such as this dont provide the value. Ill be going to a boutique solution going forward. Super sad.

I was scheduled for 60 minute facial was only serviced for 30 minutes. I asked the manager why , she said she didn’t know. She still wanted me to pay full price . Luckily the Apple Pay was not working and I was not able to pay. Only used my monthly credit for the service . The Manager asked me to call her when I got home with my card number for the rest of the payment. I will not pay the other half unless I receive the other 30 minutes of my facial . All the manager on duty could say multiple times is that “ I have never had anyone complain about her. “ Which has totally nothing to do with me . I haves used ME in different states because I travel for work and I have never had a session cut at 30 minutes. If you want customers to pay you , provide the service scheduled .

Great couples massage service at ME Hermosa Beach,CA by Brandon , cannot remember the young ladies name but my spouse seemed to enjoy his massage as well . Only thing is there is a gym above the rooms so there is a lot of loud banging . Other than that everything was perfect.

I’ve been a member at the ME DTLA location for over a year and have enjoyed every session. My most recent massages have been with Erica, Marcia, Marlo, and Marina. They’ve all done fantastic jobs and are very attentive to any areas I’ve asked them to address.

Omggg Marlo is absolutely AMAZING!!! I like to refer to myself as a ‘massage connoisseur’, and have gotten massages from around the world as I travel a lot. I will also like to put out there that I have been a massage envy member for probably over 20 years and have had countless massage therapists. I like the pressure very strong so that’s hard to find but I have found it in Marlo, FINALLY so I am super happy! Also I love when the therapist can feel the areas that need more attention, and he definitely has the ability and insight for that! He is very professional and I feel very comfortable as a female getting a massage by a male therapist which is very important these days in the massage world. Whether I get an hour or an hour and a half during my time with him he definitely makes me feel like I am experiencing a little piece of heaven…. I Don’t want it to end! 5 STARS ALLL THE WAYYYY for MARLO!! So glad I found him!!

Its my second time here in the last 2mos. Im from theBay Area so you guys know the drive can be brutalsometimes specially LA traffic so anyway my cousinrecommended me this place coz i mentioned it to himthat my shoulder is bothering me. I was kindaskeptical at first coz if you think of Massage Envy youthink about of franchise and for some franchise canbe low quality but not this location. Their therapistreally know what theyre doing like they know whereare the points to put pressure you know what imean. Specially if you have some areas that youwant them to focus on like previous light injury.Anyways if you guys are in LA area and need amassage or a rapid tension relief this is the place!

I paid for a full 60 minute massage. However, when I timed it, it was only 39 minutes. I brought up the concern to the front desk but they argued with me stating there is a 10 minute dressing period (5 before and 5 after). Even so, I was still shorted 11 minutes. I paid over 300$ for a 39 minute massage. I called again and was offered a free 30 minute session. I do not live around a massage envy and asked for a partial refund. Store said they cannot do that. If you go, time it!!! Don’t pay full if you don’t receive full service.

Marlo at DTLA is the best you have had on the team for years! I’m very grateful for his knowledge that helps me heal outside of the session in addition to his ability to heal during the session. He is the ultimate professional!

White girl with knuckle tats gave the WORST customer service ever looked extremely annoyed to deal with me, she looked angry and mad and was very short with me. I ended up not getting any of my questions answered because she was so intimidating I didnt even want to bother. Called later in the day and spoke to Fiona on the phone and the difference in personality was incredible, you could feel her smile over the phone and she step by step walked me through the process of buying gift cards and explained the memberships and everything and was so patient. The other girl needs personality training maybe she shouldnt be working there if shes so angry.

For some context, me and my girlfriend arrived late to the massage place due to unexpected traffic. I was willing to pay for the massage and still go through with it however, I did not expect them to quote us for the whole 60 minutes. Our appointment was at 5:30 and due to traffic we didn’t start our massage until 5:40. They were way too strict with the 60 minute rule without being accommodating and basically stopped after 30 minutes. I was under the impression that I would be paying for half of it because we got half the time, but they charged me and my girlfriend and total of $150 for 30 minutes whcich I found ridiculous. For your own sake please avoid this massage place or if you are looking into it make sure you arrive 10 minutes earlier than Ur appointment. This is my review in relation to the service, when it comes to the actual quality of massage it was very mediocre and had no pressure tied to it so it just felt like someone was touching my body and not massaging.

I went to the DTLA site and it is an old church that was a bank and now owned by Massage Envy. The nostalgia of the location is great. I am from the midwest so the experience seemed like the Taj Mahal in comparison. My frustration was the level of emphasis on parking protocol. I did not understand where to park and paid an additional amount and walked past some drunk homeless people fighting. Not a big deal as I discovered there is parking right beside the location and a drunk fight will never be remembered. The worst place. Never come here. I paid 150 for two massages both only 20 min. We were late because of traffic and there was no accommodation for it and they still charged us the same price for an hr massage. The front desk clerk was rude about it. The massage was even worse they barely massaged. It was just putting lotion on and moving the sheets. I would never ever come back here for recommend this to anyone who wants to get a massage. It’s a scam to say the least. There’s other way better places that aren’t a scam.

Booked an appointment for a standard facial, when I get there they ask me to fill out paper work which normally i would have expected additional time scheduled into the appointment instead it was taken out of my 60min facial time, the aesthetician finally comes to get me after 15 mins in the waiting room saying oh, you’re here, I wasn’t informed 😕 once in the room she proceeds to talk to me about the monthly packages they offer and upgrades, she sold me on the package and upgrade and changed my standard facial to a microdermabrasion, she ask me to hold so she could go up to the counter and inform them of the upgrade.. after returning I lay down on the bed 30 mins into my session, she cleansed my face, wiped my face with wet napkins is what it felt like, and preceded with the micro-machine, she stopped two times handing me the mirror as if she had completed her service, and each time having to point out areas that I was not satisfied with, after 15-20 mins she cleansed my face moisturized and wiped off with a wet napkin, never did I have a wet or hot towel touch my face. I was at the front desk ready to check out 10 mins early.. I’ve had many facials before in the past and this was bar far the worst, it felt pressured, rushed and didn’t leave glowing. The receptionist was even confused about why the session ended so early, she asked the aesthetician to come up and explain why I ended up being charged more and received what it seemed like less time and service.. with no valid excuse or explanation she said I would see a difference in a few days. After leaving and trying to be ok with feeling robbed, I called back to speak to the manager and he offered me a free upgrade on my next service, kindly explained I was not looking for anything free only expected to get the service I paid for. Seems to me they are more concerned with Upselling instead of quality service.

I’ve been going to Massage Envy for facials and chemical peels for over a year now, and Vivian is wonderful, not only great at what she does, but also a really fun person to spend that time with. I always come out GLOWING and feeling like a princess.

Absolutely perfect place to go!!! Iresha was the best she was very experienced , knowledgeable , professional, and naturally talented with her craft. I typically do not like being touched by people, but she made me feel at ease. Please try the assisted stretching before the massage it is soo worth the cost. The staff members at the front desk are very warm ,inviting and easygoing check in and out was a breeze no high pressure upsales attempts at all.

Paid $120 dollars for a 35 minute massage (supposed to be 50-60min). Not worth the time or money. Be careful coming to this location, kind of a joke to be honest. Management did nothing to accommodate the scenario.Also, if you sign up for a membership. You pay full price on your first massage. You have to wait a full 30 days until you get the supposedly 60min concession. They don’t make that clear to you

OMG!! I cant believe this location!! The place is drop dead gorgeous - they kept the original architecture and mixed in a state of the art, beautiful spa. I feel like in Europe. the front desk are polite and sweet and welcoming. I had an amazing massage with Jose and he really listened to what I needed. Highly recommend!!

Javier is a STAR... and is the best massage therapist at the downtown Los Angeles location. He is very knowledgeable about muscles and anatomy of the body. He is above par for sure.... pleasant, friendly, attentive, professional, and good at what he does. I totally enjoyed my session with him and will certainly be seeing him again!!!!

Wow what a stunning interior. A historical building with 30 feet high gold leaf ceilings. Bravo to the owners for making every effort to preserve the historical quality of this location. 2 hour validated parking in downtown LA! Amazing. Oh, the massage I got was first rate.

Worth every penny... the staff is friendly & super respectful in the massage area.Angel gives great facials and Alex is the friggin king of deep tissue work!! Not to mention the old & beautifully restored bldg is in creates an ambiance that cannot be recreated....go asap. You deserve it!

Had a great experience overall. The massage was pretty decent as well although it was supposed to be an hour, we were only given 45 mins. That is my only complaint.

I had pulled a muscle and was in pain for three days prior to going. Sebastian worked on me and after about 15 minutes the pain was greatly reduced. Good place. Clean. Comfortable. Professional. Comparably priced. I will definitely return.

I love the idea of Masaage Envy being placed so numerously around the country, however I have had a disturbing and inconvenient amount of last minute reschedules dealing with the Downtown Los Angeles location. My partner and I have used Massage Envy since the beginning of 2014 and have experienced service at this chain literally all over the country. This location is, in my opinion, deserving of a 1 star rating based on their inconsistent scheduling practices.This morning will mark the 5th time they have rescheduled on the same day of the appointment with us, in addition to at times placing appointments on completely different days or times than we set it on. We are beyond fruatrated because Downtown LA is now our most conveniently placed location. We have also reported this grievance more than once to their staff to no avail. They call and change times or therapists on the same day. Its not always something we are able to accommodate. We also dont feel that from a customer service stand point, as people who take our massage time seriously, that we should have to repeatedly endure such sporadic scheduling practices. I have had for the most part good massage there, when I do get them. Also I love Angels service, one of the estheticians. The location is beautiful and feels very serene to be located in the bustling downtown area, but the scheduling mishaps can send your experience downhill fast if your are a consistent client there.UPDATE MAY 30, 2019: YESTERDAY I SET AN APPOINTMENT AND EMPLOYEES OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT CALLED AND CANCELLED HOURS BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT. THIS IS THE WORST LOCATION MASSAGE ENVY HAS TO OFFER. IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD.

So I had one hour massage session in massage envy. The appointment was between 6 to 7 p.m.it was started around 6:10 and ended up like 6:50. my request was to do a deep tissue massage but it was not at all that deep tissue massage. I was not at all satisfied with the massage. I will not go again or never recommend to my friends.

Made appt over the phone; no one told me I needed a mask, so had to walk .5mi to get one in the heat.Asked for water on the way to the room, and they forgot my request.Massage was good, however this is the dialogue I got as SOON as I approached the front desk: “Did you like the technician? Do you want to leave a tip?”I’d say some training in professionalism is needed here. Won’t be returning.

My favorite location ever! This place was great and the building is absolutely stunning. The rooms are also very comfortable with a lot of adjustable settings which is nice. I had a one hour deep tissue massage with Terri and it was the best hour of my life!

Claudia was gentle yet firm and listened to what I wanted. Her customer service and approachability made me feel comfortable.

Stay away ! They charge 120 per hour and the massage therapists don’t even want to give you a real message and keep playing with sheets and moving around as if they working on an elephant (I’m 170lb male). They also cut u 10 min short for dressing and undressing but charge you for full hour .

Although everyone was very friendly and respectful, I don’t recall anyone giving me their name other than Vivian.

I literally just stepped out of this place feeling like an absolute godess. Marvin has hands of an angel. All the staff was extremely sweet and the place was so clean and relaxing. I highly recommend. Will be back in 3 weeks and i cannot wait!!
