Cheap drinks. Nice staff for the most part. Went to see a touring band, and they got their set completely cut because the venue double booked. So instead of seeing an awesome touring band, we got shafted by a local show rushing in. I dont plan on returning after how unprofessional that was handled.

Love this place! First time I have been here since it was Cahoots. Its not even the same place. What used to be a noisy hole in the wall dump that attracted too many shady characters is now a beautiful, classy place with a completely different layout and wonderful atmosphere. A much better class of people.Love Is War sounded awesome. The stage, lights and sound system are top quality. Very impressed that a venue of this size would invest so much in their lighting and sound system. It could easily rock a much bigger place, but not overkill for this place.I can see why so many of my friends love this place to see live music and why bands/musicians I know love to play here. Im getting back into music and hope to play here myself as soon as I feel Im ready.They set this place up right and the staff is super friendly.

If you’re like me you’re not really into going to see bands at bars and dealing with crowds which Nirvana has however if you show up early before the show you will enjoy a great meal minus all that! I decided to go there after seeing a video about Nirvana on Facebook and thinking to myself the food looked amazing so I tried it with one of my good friends the food was amazing the bartender was very knowledgeable about the menu and friendly and was a great conversationalist!

Why do no light bulbs work at this establishment! Are you broke and yet afford bouncers. Its like a man who cheats on his wife and yet brings home her flowers.Definitely not worth going to. Bar tenders dont have any skill at customer service amd was asked to move 5 feet to be within the serving area of the bar. Wanted food but couldnt ask anyone for 35 minutes due to management dealings with their own financial issues. Im assuming male and female owners who lack major communication and have disagreements in front of customers cause the place to be a failure. Would not recommend to a drunk friend. Especially the cover charge is... well the place is dead after they try to cover their costs. Would expect it to go bankrupt soon due to innocence of insurgence.I will encourage everyone i know never to attend establishment due to managements uncanny ability to access danger

I didnt have the best first impression of this place but the owner (I think?) replied back to my review. Listening to customer feedback, taking the time to respond, and encouraging someone to come back for a better experience next time are signs of someone who cares about their business. Maybe Ill stop by next time Im in Louisville!

People come to the area to be too weird, not be forced to feel that way. After experiencing the disrespectful and selective nature of the employees I was ecstatic to hear how many of my peers also thought of it as garbage. Ill happily await the bar that takes its place to see if someone in that spot actually gets it right for a change.

Stopped in 8:00 on Thursday saw live music, Molly and the Villians. Great singer, Molly. Easy going bar good drink prices, but not so happy about plastic cups. Oh well summer! Didnt have the food so cant rate that.

Neither restroom had any soap and the womens restroom was really Nasty. This makes me wonder how the employees that bring the food and mix your drinks wash their hands. The chicken strips were nuggets from a frozen source. The Cheeseburger wasnt bad just average. The band brought in a lot of the crowd was was really great.

Phenomenal improvement over Cahoots! The stage is great, the sound guy knows his stuff, so you hear everything really well. The shotgun style layout is definitely a winner, and its not a bad spot to stop for a drink!

Were visiting from Boise, ID and this place is so awesome! We hung out with the bartender, Rito, two nights in a row and we had a blast just throwing back shots and having great conversation. Would definitely recommend for anyone visiting

The food is 🔥🔥🔥🔥 You will not be disappointed whatever you order cause the entire menu is amazing. My personal favorites are the veggie egg rolls and bang bang cauliflower. 😍😍😍 The best part is the portions are easily shareable and perfect for getting variety at the same time.

Good vibes with urban appeal and hip hop tunes on Friday nights. Depending on who is renting the space will determine the type of entertainment. Great location on bardstown road in the heart of the highlands. Parking might be a bit tough on a busy night. Cheap drinks and dim lights but isnt that what makes the mood? Food is available up to a certain time. Get there early.

Nice set up. I went for my friends Live Band Karaoke and enjoyed myself. The food was good, too. Really nice venue. Its on Bardstown Rd so obviously parking was a task, but...

First time here. The menu has changed due a new chef. I ordered the Kentucky Hot Brown Frites. Large order with a good flavor.The bartender was very friendly and helpful.Danny Flanigan and band was playing.So, great food, excellent music and love the environment.Worth the try

It feels like this place has an Identity crisis. Upscle divebar? Hipster chic? I really cant place it. The drinks are reasonable, and live music can be fun if the right band is there. I didnt stick around long enough to see if they had food. Its would be a good spot for a quick drink during the weekend bar crawl

Not upscale dining. Mediocre pub food. With all the great places to eat in the highlands best to just skip this one. It does look nice and I think as a bar and music venue theyre doing okay.

Im sure its a nice place but my first impression wasnt a good one. It was listed as a stop on a bar crawl I went to recently but no one in the bar had any clue as to what was going on and basically kicked us out when their other event started up. Not cool.

Went to see some awesome live music, no cover and very affordable drinks. In the Highlands? What!? #TrueStory After 11 PM I was told it goes hip hop but tonight there were two live acts FOR FREE! Come support this place before we lose another gem that supports #LiveLocal. They were steadily ushering food out from the kitchen and I hear its pretty tasty.

Excellent food and fun atmosphere. There for very affordable happy hour appetizers. Very tasty! Guy was setting up to play that night as well so entertainment is provided

If I could give it a zero star I would. Went to go see Stellar Circuits and low and behold they had double booked the room so they were unable to perform. Plus the smacked out sound guy couldnt even get their sound connected into the house system right because he didnt have the right cords. Immediately following the cancelation no refund and some bartender DJ Walmart Wolverine started playing the worse music ever. Should do us all a favor and just close or let someone that knows how to run a venue take it over.

The food is the main reason I go. You can order anything especially the fried chicken and it will be a flavor burst in your mouth. I love the spinach fries omg. The vibe urban nights as are dope with local artist showcasing their skills and DJ partyallwknd

A different experience than what we were hoping for. We walked in and asked for a drink menu. Right off the bat. They didnt have a drink menu. Red flags right away. We then sat down and proceeded to get drinks. Werent crazy pricy but if youre going for happy hour make sure you get a happy hour drink. Food wasnt the worst. Menu items are a little different. We ordered the wings with honey bbq and fries. The wings and fries were on point. We walked in to an empty bar besides 1 person. We were early. Around 530. Band started at 630. Once the band started more people showed up. It was not the younger crowd my husband and our friends were looking for. Nonetheless, drinks were good and food was good (check the menu out before you go) but we will not be coming back. Simply because of the lack of a drink menu and the atmosphere wasnt the most welcoming. If youre thinking about going to nirvana, GO ON THE WEEKEND when they are busy!

Nice place. But some of the bartenders are idiots. Didnt give me my change, slow making drinks, ignoring you over and over, horrible tasting drinks in a tiny cup full of ice. Worst drinks in Louisville.

Had a performance here and loved the atmosphere. The Vibe Open Mic occurs here every Thursday @ 9PM. This is the space to be for all creatives in the city. Calling all poets, singers, songwriters, rappers, comedians, and writers. I posted a picture from the flyer of the week I was featured. There is a new feature each week. So after driving from Frankfort to drop my son off at the Megabus i decide to go to Nirvanas and treat my girlfriend. Shes never been there before and I described how amazing the Mcnasty burger is. Got there a little early and waited for them to open at 4 as it says they do on Google. Went to the door and waited at least 15- 20 min for them to open. Never happened. We even saw and heard employees laughing and talking inside. So we decided to call thinking maybe they just didnt see us standing at the door ( not possible because you can clearly see the outside) and no one ever picked up. Honestly extremely disappointing since I was looking forward to this all day. Guess we wont be coming back anytime soon but it didnt seem like the employees really cared regardless. Wind up going to Taco Luchadres instead. Great tacos BTW .And was actually open when they said they would be.

Walked in Saturday and they had salsa class kickin off latin night which was awesome. I learned a lot and it was a blast! The DJs are on point & bartenders are great hardworking people.

Went there for Review & honestly I wasted my money but bar scene was not too bad at all. They really can make some good Long Island Ice Tea.

Closed when it was supposed to be open. We waited around for about 30 mins after advertised opening time on Google before deciding to go to J. Gumbo instead. Very disappointing since we live in Indianapolis and seen a video of them on Youtube. We were excited about trying it. Oh Well.

Nice bar filled with unfriendly guest. The vibe open Mic is an uptight friend connected event not worth the time of anyone serious about there craft. Nirvana is ok and great for Small stage performance.

The rennovation has made this bar a top competitor among other local bars and a true threat with the variety of events that they host. I would certainly reccommend this venue to anyone that is looking to experience what Bardstown Road has to offer. In addition to the bar atmosphere and entertainment, the drinks are the cheapest around with one of the longest extended happy hours on the road. The food is not to be skipped either, as it is a step above traditional bar food and has flair with a special twist. Overall, Nirvana is an up-and-coming bar with with a substantial amount of potential. I would love to see more bands play here and I would enjoy playing a show here myself!

Great food, and bartenders. Check this place out on Thursday nights. The Vibe Open Mic. Never ignore who might pop up, and theres great performances on Thursdays.

I lost consciousness for one reason or another (tests were inconclusive from immediate care center). At which time I was told by several people that they were told to not call an ambulance. Security approached the group around me and said they could not have this here and told the group around me that I needed to leave. I didnt come to until after I was outside and was becoming more coherrent. I would exercise EXTREME caution if you choose to attend this establishment.Please note, the owner of the bar spoke to my wife and called us all a liar and is hard siding with his employees without audio surveillance. He mentions that he saw me walk out of the bar when I was still half blacked out using my friends for stabilization. I have bank records showing I only purchased 2 bourbon and cokes with the last one only being drank down to about half or less.

Amazing atmosphere. Wonderful people. Great drinks. Performances by local artists such as PPE on the regular. Truly a great place to just relax and chill

Went and paid 80 for VIP GNO tickets and was supposed to get pics instead they wanted 50 to get pics was supposed to have seating never got it the bag we got for the VIP had 2020 calendar and the shirt was from 2019 not happy

This place is horrible! Music too loud. People were taking drinks outside and throwing their cups in the street. Lots of fights and very disruptive to other business owners close by!

Theres always some amazing DJ, the place is barely ever empty, the bartenders are friendly, the people going in are also very friendly and willing to talk, and the food is good.

I love the seating in this club and they make a great Vegas Bomb! BUT....the local live music ended too early.
