Tranquility Salon & Spa

Tranquility has been my only salon for years. I am not a regular client by any reckoning, once or twice a year normally, but I am treated so kindly each and every time I walk through the door. The salon is always clean, it always smells great, and the people are professional and personable. The staff are talented and I always walk out feeling like a new person in the best of ways: my cut is perfect, the color is gorgeous, and my spirit is lifted. If you are looking for a new salon home, I could not more enthusiastically recommend Tranquilty. You will not be disappointed.

Absolutely the best color and cut I have ever gotten. I had a multiple step corrective color done with Cindy. She took me from a metallic box color denim blue to a beautiful honey brown with perfectly placed and perfectly toned golden highlights. I brought in pictures of the color and cut I was hoping to get close to and she nailed it! Honestly the results are even better the pictures I brought in! Cindy was completely committed not only to the end result but to ensuring that we got there while maintaining the integrity of my hair. She took the time to carefully consider all options and layout a plan to achieve our end goal while ensuring my hair remained health with absolutely no evidence of the amount of processing that was needed. I can’t say enough great things about my visit to Tranquility and how happy I am with the every single aspect of my visit. It was a wonderful experience!

I had never been here before, but went because I got a gift certificate from my son-in-law and I am forever hooked. Cindy was absolutely wonderful! She answered all the questions I had about my hair and possible coloring honestly and gave me great advice. She didn’t try to upsell me (when she easily could have) and gave me a wonderful trim and style that I was very happy with. Being a small business owner myself, I know all too well what small businesses are up against when in competition with corporate chains. Do yourself a favor and check this quaint salon & spa out…you’ll appreciate the wonderful individual attention you receive!

Kihra is a wonderful massage therapist! I thoroughly enjoyed my massage with her. She was able to alleviate much of the pain in my upper back and neck. Definitely one of the best massages I have had since moving to the Louisville area. If you need someone who can help alleviate your pain, Kihra is your girl! She is very intuitive about what your body needs. She really cares about you and your health and wants to help you feel better. I could not recommend her more!

We have called multiple times, left a voicemail, and I have emailed attempting to schedule an appointment with a gift card that was purchased less than a year ago, and they have not returned any of our communication. Despite having paid for services, it’s now seeming like they just took the money and ran. Recipients of gift cards aren’t treated equally as same-day paying clients, and that’s made pretty clear by the wording on the website when you go to schedule an appointment. Services have been paid for, and we hope to be either refunded or at the very least be given equal treatment as a same-day paying customer.

Booked an appointment for an hour massage. My appointment was scheduled for April 8th at 3:50pm. Tranquility called at 3:34pm the day of the appointment, to say it was cancelled because the massage therapist was sick. I was already in the parking lot after my 45 minute drive to the location. I walked in to be rescheduled and asked how they were going to make it right since I had driven so far and barely got a 15 minute cancellation notice. The owner offered so graciously to reschedule me with her on June 3rd. Two months away from my scheduled appointment.I absolutely declined that reschedule appointment because it is totally ridiculous. I would not recommend. This was my first and only appointment. My best friend had bought me a gift card for this massage as a birthday present and unfortunately she wasted her time and money.

Ive been going to Tranquility Salon for facials since December 2021 to help treat acne, blackheads, and dull skin. I have seen a tremendous improvement in my skin and frequently get compliments on how much better it looks! I love the facials and Cindy is fantastic every time. Ive also received a massage from Tranquility and it was relaxing and I cannot wait to book my next one!

I’ve been going to tranquility salon for years! And I’ve had several massages at the spa! They know who I am and welcome me by name on each visit! Cindy is the best! She’s always so fun to talk the salon talk and she does an incredible job! She’s incredibly professional and her work shows it. Her advice and suggestions are always on point! Love love love tranquility!!

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Tranquility Spa today. I felt very pampered. I visited Sophia for dermaplaning, but got so much more. Skin evaluation, deep cleaning, removal of facial hair, a facial peel, arm, shoulder, neck, and head massage. A calming lotion for the redness. Lastly, a tinted moisturizer. Sophia is very knowledgeable and professional. I got a lot of bang for my buck.

The best hair cut I have ever had! I gave the stylist carte blanche and was not disappointed. Provided me with a lot of information about managing my fine curly hair. Products were available for purchase but there was no pressure to buy. Love this place! It will be my go to salon from now on.

Terrible! Sent me a text basically telling me I had to either cancel my appointment or change the services I scheduled 4 days prior to the appointment...HAPPY ANNIVERSARY HONEY!..... should have known better after how rude the lady on the phone was.Updated after response....Sure, life happens. Feels like something else after rude lady on the phone told me to call back when Im sure after I had the nerve to inquire about your cancelation policy..... turns out all I needed to do was wait for you to cancel it for me.No worries though, hope your therapist heals up OK.

I started coming to Tranquility Salon & Spa for my hair a few years ago, and they have been nothing but AMAZING!! Every staff member there is very welcoming and treats you with the highest respect. I started using Michelle when she started, and have had no regrets since. Michelle is very communicative about her services and pricing, and the work she does on my hair is nothing short of being the best. I leave the salon happy and satisfied every time. Michelle really knows how to work your hair for you, your lifestyle, skin tone, and face to body shape. She better not ever leave... My hair wouldnt know what to do without her!

I absolutely loved my experience at this salon. I am extremely picky when I comes to my hair. I had a referral from one of my friends to see Michele. The front desk girl was amazing, and extremely friendly. It helped calm my nerves about getting my hair cut (I havent in over 2 years). When I met Michele, and she got me in the chair. She listened and saw my requests. She was upfront about the costs before she even started. During the entire time of the coloring and cut. It was amazing and the conversations were friendly as well. With it all said and done... I am so happy with my hair. Im in love with it.

Cindy does a fantastic job on my hair. Color is perfect. She only cuts off what I tell her. Which is hard to find in a Stylist. Been going to her for years. Never disappointed.

Amazing massage by Kihra. Im having back issues and she worked out the tight muscles in my shoulders and lower back. She also used a technique called cup massage which felt even better. If your having muscle tension and discomfort I highly recommend that. Thank you Kihra.

These people were great! From the receptionist who sold me the package and was so helpful, to Victoria & Renee who took care of my mother during her visit. My mom has terminal cancer and had never received any of these treatments. She LOVED it!! She got the deep tissue massage & facial, but decided to opt out of the hair treatments due to chemo taking her hair. Instead, she’s going to go back for another massage. Thank you all for making it easy, and making her feel like the queen she is!

I moved to Louisville about 2 months ago and looked online for somewhere to get my hair cut and highlighted and came across Tranquility. I was able to make an appointment quickly and as soon as I got to the salon the entire staff was very warm and welcoming. My appointment was with Michele and she was wonderful. She really listens to what you want and helps you achieve your ideal look, plus she teaches you little tricks and tips throughout the appointment. I loved my cut and my color looked great, so I made an appointment for my boyfriend, too. Michele also did a great job on his hair. I have since been back for waxing with Oxsana and she was amazing. She made me feel very relaxed and she is quick and efficient. I am so glad I found this salon, I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great experience for a great price!

Have only used massage services, but entire store seems to have it together and salon clients always look happy. As far as massages, Kihra is the best! Whether targeted areas are your need or you want a general full body, she will fix your pains. Weve been to several places around the Louisville and Southern Indiana area, and this is the only spa we even look at now. I hate to speak too highly because we would love to have Tranqulity on personal call whenever we want, but theyre great. You owe it to yourself to visit. Have been at least a dozen times.

I have been going to Tranquillity salon and spa for 5-6 years now and Ive been so happy there that I refuse to go anywhere else. I love everyone who works there. They are warm, caring, wonderful people who are willing to do anything to make you feel gorgeous and beautiful. As someone who doesnt feel that way on a daily basis, it means a lot to me to get compliments on my gorgeous hair and eyebrows! Cindy has been my hairdresser for all the years Ive been going here and she knows EVERYTHING about my life and I absolutely love talking to her. She is gorgeous, beautiful, young and wise and I hope that I can be as awesome as she is someday. Please go to Tranquility and check them out!! I can not say enough good things about Tranquility! Cindy has given me the haircut I have always wanted (and needed!) and taught me how to take care of my wavy curly hair. Renee keeps my skin clear and beautiful. The receptionists are courteous and professional. The salon itself is clean and bright. I recommend Tranquility in a heartbeat!

I called ahead to confirm the services I wanted. From the beginning the stylist/esthetician seemed to understand that I wanted a deep cleaning facial. She did a peel with only a few extractions. I asked for waxing and brows and she hesitated and waxed the lip area. I had to ask again to clean up brows which was not done. I had random hairs all over my face and did not have the clean skin i paid for. She had said I could get highlights and the did three foils. She said she didn’t have time to do any more than three. She repeatedly left the area for 10-15 minutes. She didn’t have time to cut or finish highlights. She washed my hair and blew it dry and it looked awful. Basically, nothing I asked for was done. I paid 130 dollars. I caution anyone away from this place.

Cindy is amazing! She has great vision with my hair and I love coming here. Would definitely recommend Tranquility to anyone looking for a salon!

Everyone here is friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. Michele is a fantastic stylist. She listens carefully before she begins so you get what you want. She cuts and colors my hair beautifully in the style I request. My daughter and girls get their hair done by Michele as well and they enjoy each visit and have beautiful hair!

Michele does a great job on my hair! Ive been coming here for about 6 months and have been happy every time. She listens to what you want but isnt afraid to make recommendations. Front desk staff has always been super sweet too.

My friend and I went to Tranquility salon and spa today and both received 1 hour full body massages. It was absolutely amazing!!! The salon was very clean and nice and all of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. It was my first full body massage and Elisha walked me through everything and made sure I was very comfortable. My friend and I both loved our experiences and plan on returning. I would definitely recommend this salon!!

Going to keep this short and sweet, best massage I have ever had! The staff was friendly and accommodating, the salon was clean, and Elisha is amazing at what she does. I booked an hour long deep tissue massage and half way through I even requested to extend it to an hour and a half. I feel like a new person, most definitely will be back!!

I work a very demanding job with long crazy hours and have two young children, so time for me is precious. I love tranquility because they always fit me in (sometimes with less than 12 hours notice). EVERYONE, seriously, everyone is nice and willing to do whatever it takes to make you happy. I have had multiple services here and everything has been great. Rachel is pretty awesome. She does my hair and waxing and shes wonderful! The staff is focused on their customers, theres no visible drama going on which sometimes at other salons you can sense the tension upon walking in. They get you in and out, which for me is amazing. I highly recommend Tranqulity for any salon or spa service you may need.

I had a positive experience at this amazing spa. The staff is friendly and helpful. The spa is very cute and comfortable. The facials are really effective and lovely. The massages I have had are the best I have ever had. I love the beauty products this spa carries. I have started booking monthly massages and facials. Prices are reasonable. This is a really a wonderful spa with a hard working staff. They do have a really generous loyalty program.

Ive been consistently coming to tranquility for about a year now and every time i go the service is always amazing, from the reception to the stylists everybody there tries their best to make you enjoy your time. All the stylists are very receptive of your preferences and always get it right.

I can not say enough nice things about this salon and my stylist Michelle. I originally found them after visiting a spa in AZ that uses Eminence face/body products. When I found they a local salon too I soon switched and met Michelle. She too is from IN and is so kind. Not only is she relatable but she does a very professional job on my hair. They offer the best products and are not pushing to buy them. I always look forward to my next visit! Thank you!

Michele Hayden does my hair and she is absolutely amazing. I have been going to her for almost a year and I won’t go anywhere else and I live 45 minutes away. She’s the sweetest and knows her craft so well. Thank you for always making me feel beautiful!!

I received a massage from Kihra and I think she worked out every knot I’ve had in my body since 5th grade! Amazing experience. The entire staff were so nice while I was in, the salon was immaculately clean, I’d definitely recommend everyone check it out!

Cindy is my hair dresser and colors, cuts and styles my hair doing a lovely job. She does my hair exactly as I ask. I was familiar with Tranquility but did not call for an appointment until restrictions were lifted from the lockdown for the coronavirus. I am very pleased that I began having my hair done there.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience there. He got a massage, and I got a facial. I felt that they were very knowledgeable about skincare and tailoring they facial to my needs. The salon aesthetic was very pleasing. I would love to go back very soon!

Mani and pedi were ok at best. My nails werent even fully painted. The girl who did them was super sweet and had a great personality.The massage therapist was nice but I feel like she ignored my main concerns as far as targeted spots.This was a gift, so I cant complain too much, but I wouldnt spend that kind of money there twice.Great personalities and environment, but as far as delivery of what you are selling was below my expectations.As a gift from my boyfriend to pamper myself for a day, I didnt want to tell him that I was extremely disappointed in his choice of salons.

I have been coming to this salon for 5 years. Cindy is the best! She is always smiling, does a fantastic job on my hair and eyebrows, & is very easy to converse with. I went to get a shellac French manicure for a friends wedding and Ilena did a well enough job and said a color change was only $14 so I returned two weeks later after scheduling an appointment with whom I believe was the owner. Having never gotten a color change before I wondered why I was there so long and she was shaping my nails after shellac removal and followed with cuticle treatment. When finished the owner said I owed $40 for a full shellac manicure. I feel it was a bait and switch since I said on the phone I wanted a color change but the nail technician didnt confirm with me prior to services. On top of this the color job she did is serviceable but not up to my high standards so I wont be back which is a shame since Im in the market for a couples spa day within the next few weeks and had been considering this establishment.

I have been visiting Tranquility Salon and Spa for over a year and a half. I have been blonde, blonde with teal, red, and now back to my original color of dark brown. Julie has done a fantastic job with all of my sporadic changes and making each transition beautiful. She is not afraid to tell me how a color is going to turn out on my hair and next to my skin tone, and she is very patient with my indecisive requests. Her haircuts keep my hair healthy and easy to manage. I have not had to get my hair thinned once since she started doing my layers. And, she is the first stylist I have had cut my bangs perfectly. They offer a complimentary bang trim between haircuts, which theyre able to squeeze in quickly when my schedule permits. I have never had trouble getting a receptionist on the phone to schedule an appointment. I had Avdo do my hair once when Julie was unavailable, and he did a terrific job as well. If I ever had to have any other services done I would try Tranquility first. The staff and customers are friendly and happy to be there. Highly recommend!

Wow, I just had the best experience at TRANQUILITY spa in Notting hill. The staff were beyond professional and kind and attentive. I had a very relaxing mani and pedi done for me at the same time so it was quick and every. I then had my eyebrows threaded and tinted and I am so unbelievably happy with the result. I highly recommend this place to you:)

Tranquility is great! I have been getting my hair cut and colored by Cindy for multiple years and have had a wonderful experience.

Will not honor gift certificates that have expired, even though we’ve had a pandemic. Cindy, the owners told me I could have used it since June when they opened back up. My certificate was actually good till November (based on their 12 month rule) but I explained my husband is high risk and couldn’t take chances. This is simply a bad and greedy business practice. I certainly won’t be going back. Too many good & honest spas around to give my business.

Kihra is the absolute best massage therapist! I always leave feeling so much better. She has suggestions for stretches & relaxation techniques that have worked very well for me.

This is my fave spa in Louisville. Even though I moved about 15 miles away a few years ago, I still return. The new owners are amazing, Victoria is a fabulous massage therapist, and I always feel pretty and happy after being there.

Mark is great! My stress headache went away after our session. Needless to say I quickly booked another. Totally worth every penny.

My first time here was on Saturday and it was the BEST decision ever. It had been a while since my last massage and Leslie made my first time back so wonderful! I am thankful for her and her hands and can’t wait for my next one. Great clean place and wonderful staff.

I was volunteering at St. Vincent De Paul where we collect donations for the homeless which is next door to the salon. Some nice people brought some nice furniture of theirs to donate, and as we are about to move it inside one of the salons hairstylists takes one of the tables without purchasing it. She tries to carry it off to the salon and it breaks in the process because she dropped it. Then she gives the pieces back to us to throw away and laughs it off. She did not apologize. That table was going to be sold at the thrift shop and the proceeds wouldve gone towards St. Vincents initiatives for the homeless. She essentially stole church property and made it impossible for any money from that table to go to the homeless. When I went into the salon after volunteering, I told the lady who was working at the front desk about the incident and they were very unresponsive and did not apologize. I cannot speak to their salon abilities, but a salon that employs people like this who actively steal money from the homeless and not apologize for it is ridiculous. I for one will never go to this salon.

I Do not recommend this salon/spa. I had a Mani-Pedi performed here.The russian manicurist held little consideration for my sensitive hands though mentioning my pain several times during the session.My nail polish came off within hours of the service.The facility does not seem to be overly concerned with cleanliness.I was very concerned that I would end up with a nail fungus given that they use the same bottle of cuticle oil and the same dropper on all clients.The service felt exceedingly rushed even though there was no one waiting for another service by this woman.Highly disappointed!

I love, love, love my new cut and color. Michele did an amazing job and really listened to me when we talked about what I wanted. I will definitely be back and plan to try some of their other services in the future.

This was the worst hair dye I ever had and they refused to refund my money. I wish I could upload photos....please do not go here an pay 150 for color that isnt correct. Went in and showed the partial owner the results and no money was returned. They wanted me to let them do it again! If you cant do it right the first time why would I want someone else to do it from the same shop and damage my hair? Thats nonsense. Also they say they dont do refunds yet in the comments below it states they have a 100% money back guarantee if your not satisfied 🤨. I will not go back, I myself could have done a better job an for that kind of money next time I will.

I spent my birthday at Tranquility Spa and it was the best birthday yet! I had the best facial and then a massage and the I got my hair trimmed. I have been to this spa several times and I live almost 2 hours away. It was awesome

Bought myself a spa package including a massage, facial, and mani-pedi. When I came in, somehow the system had deleted my appointment. BUT they rectified it quickly and got me in for all the services I wanted. Everyone who worked on me was awesome. They thoroughly explained everything they were going to do beforehand so I would know what was coming next. They did let me know about products, but much better than most other places where you get a hard sell approach. It was mostly just to let me know what they were using on me and that it was available. Awesome experience! Hope to go back soon.

Leslie is wonderful. She put me at ease getting a massage, explained what to expect, and listened to my comments. She did a great job easing the pain in my legs and ankles. I highly recommend her

Will not be going back anymore....not sure why my hair was completely butchered considering it was going so well...at least I thought it was. I havent been able to even call back to say I want it fixed considering it is so badly butchered up....its going to be a while before I can even get a trim...:-(!6/26/2017:So I consulted with 3 different (have one more to go) salons to find a new hairdresser, since my hair is so completely butchered...each of them said that the hairdresser knew she messed up but kept going to try to fix it instead of stopping. I cant pin up my hair or leave it loose nor can I tie it up it is so butchered....even a hair band does not help.....the only solution is to loose my below neck length hair into a short pixie cut to actually fix it & start all over....Cindy I wouldve appreciated it if you had stopped when you realized you made a mistake....you used me as a guinea pig to try out a new haircutting technique you learnt....customers want hairdressers to keep their skills updated but please dont use customers as mannequins to master the new techniques....I will never recommend Tranquility Salon & Spa to anyone....good luck.

I came here in a pinch, and although the staff were friendly, the facial was the worst Ive ever had. My usual place charges $85, but I get a short back massage and masque, hand and scalp massage, and at least two masques along with your typical facial. For $70 here I got basically what I do to myself at home. I also, specifically said I was going to an event that night and just wanted a nice facial-glow, instead I got a splotchy chin that came through my makeup. I will never go back, and was really disappointed.

Without a doubt, Leslie at Tranquility is the best LMT Ive ever visited.I had experienced low back pain since an auto accident in 2001. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being worst, I was never below a 3 or 4. Leslie used various techniques including cupping which worked wonders. I am nearly pain free these days and it is never above a 1 or 2 at the most.The staff at Tranquility are all wonderful.HIGHLY recommend!

I recently received a massage from Elisha Barnette and absolutely loved it! She was very informative and did a great job! She even gave me tips as to how to reduce my migraines. I will definitely be going back to see her in the future!

I will NEVER go back to this facility again. I booked two appointments online through Webopenings, Tranquilitys vendor for an online booking application and an app you have to book through in order to receive certain discounted rates for open appointments in the near term and you pay in advance. I booked a facial and massage a couple of days ago, came out in the rain, and drove 25 minutes only to be told my appointment had been cancelled when I arrived. I received no notification of this, and they claim a cancellation was sent to a via text to a number I have never heard of. My appointments were confirmed via email, so why wouldn’t a cancellation come via email as well? They said this cancellation via text was all automated in Webopenings, but the number they mentioned the text was sent to did not exist in my profile when I logged into Webopenings when standing right there in front of them. The only number in my profile is my cell phone. The reason I will never go back is instead of offering something to make this situation right, they treated me like I made a mistake and like I was an idiot from the second I walked in the door. They were very unfriendly and rude. I’ll gladly take my money and go somewhere else. This is not how I want to be treated when I go to relax at a “spa”.

I took my gf there for a spa day for her birthday. She had a facial, massage, mani, and pedi done. Now the facial and massage she said were wonderful. And she really enjoyed it. But the mani and pedi is what we are here to talk about. When i say it was terrible i mean it was terrible. Like disgustingly terrible. There was paint all over her skin. It was sloppy and embarrassing. She didn’t even show me until we got home (an hour away) because she didn’t want me to be upset. I did try to call the next day but the phone just rang and rang. Had i seen them while i was there i would have said something. But to little to late now. The people were super nice. But the nails was horrendous.

I received a gift card and then COVID came and when I asked if I could schedule my appointment they told me NO!! Terrible service for a pandemic!! They said it expired. So if you can’t get in in case of emergency or PANDEMiC within their timeline, get a gift card somewhere else. I do not recommend this place to anyone! Very disappointed on customer service.

I recently got a a high stress job in the Louisville area and upon getting here was in desperate need of finding someone to cut my hair. I had heard some very positive things about Tranquility Salon & Spa from a coworker and was eager to give it a shot. Ive always been very picky regarding my appearance since my job involves a lot of interaction with other people, so naturally I was a little apprehensive. However all my initial fears subsided as soon as Avdo finished cutting my hair. Perhaps the best result of the visit were the many compliments I received short after from both coworkers and clients, regarding my new haircut. Since my initial haircut I have also added facials from Oksana and they too have turned out very well. I would recommend Tranquility Salon & Spa to anyone new in the Louisville area.

Got a gift card to tranquility came for one massage which was fine, but then later call back to make another apt with remaining $70 and they said my gift card had expired..... No one had told me anything about an expiration, nor did they do anything to make it right. Will not do business here again, thats not right. Waste of money.

My husband got an appointment for our anniversary and drove over an hour for this but the store was not even open so my husband called the store but the lady who works here had no clue about our appointment and was told it wasnt the time he was told so waited hours but right before I get into the store my baby got sick and had leaked poop so we cancelled the appointment :-( my baby have had bad leak few times the day and with this and that made our anniversary to worst day :-( I could have enjoy the spa if they didnt tell my husband wrong time... Very sad. *** The lady who was on the phone said 9AM and my husband didnt check his email***Im not coming back though.

I went first time for eyebrows and there is staff very nice, but I dont like eyebrows they made horrible no perfect shape some hair left on middle place its horrible experience about eyebrows I had never before like that who make, and in spent 15 dollars horrible horrible never go back again for eyebrows..

Had a 60 minute deep tissue massage done by Mark. It was fabulous!! Great first time visit there. Thanks Mark!!

Scheduled a fill body deep tissue massage. I got lotion put on my upper back ( waist to shoulders), legs from knees down and arms shoulder to fingers. No massage.

So I went here to use my birthday giftcard. Oh my what a amazing experience. A great staff from start to finish and I was jello when I left. I will be back
