Such a lovely b&b in a cute little beach town. Free parking, beautiful pool, walking distance to shops, bars, beach & restaurants, ornate lobby & a comfy bed. Oh and a cranking a/c! This place truly exceeded my expectations, only downsides was no in room fridge and the shower was pretty cold. Not surprising for an older hotel, but I could have really used a hot shower to wash the sand & sunscreen away.Hotel also included free breakfast next door and bicycles to ride around town which were a nice touch. Very clean with mature hotel guests and employees. I would love to stay here again.
This was such a cute and charming hotel! It definitely was a little small, but I enjoyed the location and the free breakfast. Each day, they’ll give you a voucher to go to the restaurant next door - it was delicious! Overall, the service was just average. Didn’t really do anything to special to stand apart from the crowd. However, I’d definitely stay here again!
I almost hesitate to leave this review, as I’d love to keep this place my little secret. But I’ve stayed at The Riverview a few times now and couldn’t recommend it enough!! The hotel has so much character and charm, and it’s the perfect little getaway. I recommend booking a poolside cabana room! They also provide vouchers for complimentary breakfast at the mermaid café next door (the beignets are amazing by the way). Special shoutout to Judy and the rest of the staff, who were all so hospitable and welcoming. I already can’t wait for our next stay!
I visited the spa for much needed relaxation and a facial. This place was much more than I expected. I was greeted by three employees which was so welcoming. They took me back immediately to get comfortable. The pool area was so nice and serene. The water was warm. Even had a complimentary glass of champagne with a strawberry. An attendant came to check on me every once in a while to see if I needed anything. There were cucumbers for your eyes and infused water, snacks anything you could need at a spa. When it was time for my facial Mandy came out to greet me and take me to our room. The room smelled amazing and the bed was heated. Mandy was fantastic! I’m sure I fell asleep during the facial that’s how good it was. Upon completion I was walked to the sitting area where Mandy had a bottle of water and neck warmer waiting. All in all it was an amazing experience. I will definitely return if I’m back in the area. Thank you Riverview!
A cozy little hotel in a locally historic building. The staff at the desk were super friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean, and felt very comfortable. The only negative we had, and I dont know if it is unique to the room we had, but the toilet in the bathroom was weirdly close to the wall, making it a little awkward to use. Otherwise a great place to stay.
Great place to spend some quiet time. Wonderful little community on the ocean and intercoastal which helps create a beautiful location for a getaway. Spa is first class! Will be back!
Came up from Miami for bike week. Very relaxing and classic place to spend the weekend. Up front the only gripe I have is the TVs in the room are not set up to give you all the channels you want (Im sure you have to pay for something) but the location makes this pointless. Photos speak for themselves! You are a short walk from the beach and there are bicycles available, seemingly free to use. Some of the best food you can get here is right across the street. Daytona is a 30 minute drive north so its not too bad and there are bicycles available, seemingly free to use.Their gift shop is also nice and plenty of options to gift your significant other. Other amenities include a free coffee bar and a snack corner but with so many restaurants nearby its hard to settle for a bag of chips.
I will give it a three because I peeked in some of the rooms and they looked nice overlooking the canal. However, our room was pretty awful… Up several flights of stairs on the third floor. I would highly suggest requesting a particular room than letting them choose one for you. No coffee maker (we were told they make Folgers medium roast downstairs in the mornings-we did not try it but the Wave St., Café is right down the road with fabulous coffee) we had to search for drinking water on the second day, all they had was plastic water bottles that they sold. The room was brightly lit at night because of the lights outside and the noise from the bridge was pretty loud. The room was clean and there was one person at the desk who helped us with the bags when we arrived.
I stayed here for my wedding weekend with several friends and family members. The staff was fantastic and the hotel is super cute. Great location and the little cafe next door was great. Would highly recommend.
Adorable historic hotel with awesome welcoming staff! We stay here every time we visit New Smyrna. Rooms are so clean, cute and beds are comfortable. Love the Mermaid Cafe next door for breakfast (which is included in room price). Walking distance to several great restaurants. Beautiful location right on the river and a short walk to the beach. Great amenities with complimentary bicycles. There is also a Spa on the property. Highly recommend this hotel.
The location for this hotel and spa is absolutely perfect. It is at the end of Flagler Avenue, just before the bridge. And you can walk to any of the shops or restaurants along that street. The hotel has bikes you can take and bike around the neighborhood theres plenty beyond Flagler avenue to see into and its so close to the beach. They also have their own pool. You get a complimentary breakfast at the mermaid Cafe next door, which also has amazing food on their menu. You do have to remember the hotel was built in the 1800s so youre not going to have a luxury hotel feel but they do offer a beautiful sitting room a nice little breakfast area You have complimentary coffee teas and you have a beautiful pool area that you can enjoy all day long plus the spa is absolutely wonderful. If you want to book an appointment and enjoy all the spa has to offer You will not be disappointed. This is my go-to when I need to spend a few days and New Smyrna Beach.
What a cool getaway! My wife and I went for a little 48 hour trip and it was amazing. We stayed in 2 different rooms and both of them were so beautiful. The hotel has a little pool that feels so private and is just the right size. The hotel staff was extremely helpful with whatever we needed. We will be back, no question!
The only 2 good things I can tell about the facility is impeccable customer service and very good free breakfast. The photos they show on Google not even close to reality ‼️ Everything beyond old . Rooms are dowdy, with screeching floors and shacking screeching beds. Bedding dump from moisture and rooms smell musty . A lot of noise from the road ( just under your windows). Not walkability whatsoever- you will have to drive everywhere! And it’s WAY OVERPRICED for what they have to offer. Look elsewhere !
Ive been here a few times and I just love it. Absolutely gorgeous. Well maintained. Beautiful property and breakfast is included
I stayed here for three days in December of 2022 while I visited family for Christmas. Online this place looks amazing, but looks can be deceiving. My room lacked amenities. There wasnt a mini fridge to store leftover food or keep snacks. I borrowed an ice chest from family to fill this need. The bathroom did not have a fan or window that opened. There was a moldy black stain on the shower window. The room itself was musty. I needed to keep my balcony door open as much as I could stand (given I was there during the very cold days reaching ~ 30 degrees). The balcony was not private. Other guests could easily access my space. This is a safety issue as it seemed to be accessible by the public in general. I could not sleep with my balcony door open for fresh air in the musty room. My bed was one of the worst hotel mattresses I have ever slept on and I am still dealing with ailments from the discomfort. It was an old, sunken spring mattress with hardly any blankets. The sheets were cheap polyester- gross. Also, the hot tub was located in the separate spa, which was not accessible to guests without an additional purchase. Overall, I felt misled and regret my decision to stay rather than leave the first night. The only positives were the location and bikes for guests. Unfortunately, I do not recommend this hotel. The cost is too high for what is offered. I encourage them to invest in the property and bring it up to its full potential.
My wife and I stayed for our anniversary and it was perfect. The room wasnt large, but had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Our patio area was off the pool and it was like that was our patio. Its nice how the area is very private and the fact its not a large/busy hotel adds to the private feel. You dont have to wait for a chair to become available. We also got massages at the Spa on site, and it was amazing. Very nice with a large, private hot pool separate hot tub in a tropical setting. Dinner was at the Riverview Restaurant and everything we had was great. Service all the way around was friendly and helpful. Our first visit, but it wont be our last, a hidden gem.
Hotel needs a major renovation. Beds are old and uncomfortable. Bathroons are very small, but location is great. Used to sit on balcony with curtains and have breakfast BUT CURTAINS ARE GONE AND BREAKFAST IS NEXG DOOR ONLY. Lost a great romantic touch.
Always have a great time here love the reception. The room is successfully clean. I love how its so close to the mermaid cafe, which is one of our favorite places to eat at when we come from the villages.
I accidentally got a room here for two nights since all hotel rooms in Daytona were rented out for race weekend. It was a nice surprise. Old architecture near the river and a bridge. Quiet rooms with a large comfortable bed and plenty of pillows. Sad the wife couldnt make it. Breakfast is covered via the diner next door. Dont worry, they give you plenty. Would like to return to bike the bridge, visit the beach and patronize the restaurant nearby.
*Note:* I didn’t stay at the hotel because it was undergoing whole property renovations when I stumbled across this absolute gem of a property. Husband and I were trying to find parking for our destination: the neighboring Grille at Riverview. Parked in the lot for the hotel with the signs: “Parking for Hotel Guests Only.” So we ventured into the lobby of the hotel to ask whether there was designated parking for the restaurant. The historic property is gorgeous and obviously period without being dated or stuffy. The lobby boasted a bevy of handcrafted and artisan sale items, all tastefully displayed. The two staff I encountered were both exceptionally polite, helpful and knowledgable. I am enthused to book a trip with them in the future but absolutely suggest a stop-in to enjoy the lobby and wares.
Absolutely beautiful place to stay right on the water. Very short distance to the beach. The hotel is beautiful, the beds are super comfortable. We put our breakfast order in the night before and they delivered breakfast to our door the next morning. Although it was a pretty limited menu, we were surprised at how good the food was. Staff was amazing. Would definitely stay here again.
Honestly, this place was very comfortable and clean and had a lot of historic character, which we appreciated. The bed was comfortable and we loved our balcony. I’m giving it two stars because there was no hot water, despite letting the water run for at least 20 minutes. We couldn’t shower that night or in the morning, which is completely unacceptable when you’re paying over $225/night. We brought it up to the front desk person this morning and he just said, oh yeah we know that’s a problem. Well thanks for informing us when we checked in lol. And we weren’t offered any kind of credit whatsoever. A disappointing service experience to say the least. Other than that, the place is nice.
This place is great. My wife and I both had massages there. The staff were very friendly and professional. The massage was very relaxing. They have an outdoor pool and hot tub with waterfalls in it. You can lounge in the chairs or pool after the massage. They have water, coffee, tea and snacks to enjoy with no rush to get you out of there. We really enjoyed it.
We enjoyed our 3 night stay while exploring New Smyrna Beach. Waterfront restaurant next door, spa on the property, and free breakfast coupons at The Mermaid Cafe, which is nearby as well.
Planned a visit for our anniversary and enjoyed our stay. The location is wonderful and the rooms quite unique.Unfortunately, our friend had arranged to prepay for most of the room fee and asked for a card to be left for us indicating the gift and wishing us a happy celebration. While the credit was apparently applied, we were unaware as the balance was billed to ‘the card on file.’This made for a very awkward conversation when it was mentioned to us, as we had not been able to thank our friend properly. As an independent inn, it’s unfortunate they couldn’t have made the small extra effort for us.
Its not for everyone. Which is why we LOVE IT!!! If you like hustle and bustle and loud, wild attractions; you wont enjoy yourself here. But if youre after romance, historical buildings, quiet seclusion, premiere service and excellent dining: stay at the Riverview Hotel. Both the Spa and Restaurant attached to the hotel are hidden gems. My husband and I return annually to celebrate our anniversary. We find deep rest for our souls and renewed intimacy in our marriage. We adore this little slice of paradise. The hotel is extreemily clean. Staff feels like family. The vibe is warm and relaxing. As for the other comments on the building being stuffy; Yes a little, but its to be expected of a building from the 1800s. Theyve done as well as possible to restore the place. You have to appreciate it for what it is.Love it here! We will be back again and again.
I would definitely stay here again! The rooms are cleaned well, its a nice environment with friendly and helpful staff. Bikes for your use. We got a balcony we used a few times watching the bridge go up and down and just enjoying the company and surroundings. Nice shower experience! Walking distance to all of the cute shops. Our favorite eating was Cafe Heavenly and Go fruit? A cute little acai bowl place with excellent bowls and the most scrumptious homemade peanut butter you can add to any bowl.Stay here and have a tremendous bike riding, beach walking, food enjoying experience!!!
The ambiance was really nice. The grounds are well kept and the hotel itself is well maintained and very clean. The property is right on the Intercoastal with some amazing views. This is a well maintained, older building. The room size (105) is adequate, but not spacious, as you would expect from a hotel from this era. We had a sitting area outside our French Doors, right at (almost) pool side. The included breakfast was very nice. Mini pastries (croissants and some bite size muffins were served warm!), fresh fruit cups and hard boiled eggs did very nicely as well as a good cup of coffee. The area is walker friendly with a wide range of shops and restaurants to choose from. Complementary bikes are for your use as well.lol the staff were easy going, professional and very accommodating. We will absolutely stay there again on our next trip to New Smyrna Beach!
So amazing! Stayed 2 nights and the staff is so friendly and accommodating. Rooms and pool are clean. There is a cute giftshop in the lobby as well. The hotel has done well in making necessary changes during covid, like delivering prepackaged breakfast items to your room. I visited the spa next door and it was fabulous as well.
Took my boyfriend for his birthday and had an amazing time! I surprised him with roses, champagne on Ice and chocolate covered strawberries. I highly recommend the cabana room for a great pool experience! Also, having an on-site Spa option was amazing. It was a great get-a-away oasis in such a cute yet grand historical building. Staff was so friendly and even let us use their pool after check out. 10/10 will stay again.
We stayed here for our 30th anniversary. The hotel was established in 1885 and it has all the charm from that era except the bathrooms are up to date, yeah! There is a nice pool with plenty of comfortable lounge seating/groupings. We had a wonderful time, I had a massage at the spa, very relaxing. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance as well as the beach. A great place to relax.
It was nice, but not what we expected. Their website has photos of the room, and they looked very quaint and a good size. When we arrived, the room was way smaller than we expected (and we actually got upgraded due to a booking issue). The room did not match the photos on the website. Nothing crazy just more outdated and cramped and generally lower quality than made out to look from the photos. The staff were nice enough, they upgraded us from deluxe room to the “yacht club suite” which I would never pay $224 for. Overall just okay. Probably would look elsewhere next time. (Also the bridge is next to the hotel and does get loud).
We stayed here last night for my birthday & we booked the 3rd floor suite, overlooking the Halifax River & the bridge with views to die for!!! The room was beautiful & spacious & the balcony is Fabulous!!! We love it here!
What I missed when I perused other reviews was that this is property built in 1885, and it’s conveniently located on the west end of New Smyrna Beach’s downtown drag. The various employees we interacted with couldn’t have been kinder or more hospitable. We enjoyed our stay and the small, boutique hotel experience.A couple negatives, not even worth knocking off a star: the room was very small. Much smaller than I could tell from other photos. It was fine for two people, but definitely smaller than most hotels we’ve ever stayed in. Also, we could hear all of the movement in and out of the hallway in the morning, so we woke up at 7:30 am when other guests started to move around :)
We just spent our 7th wedding anniversary at the Riverview. We had a lovely stay. Our room was immaculately clean, very nicely decorated, with a wonderful rain shower, and an awesome little outdoor deck with a table, two chairs, and a sunbather overlooking the lovely pool area. We met a lovely couple while taking a dip in the pool from Australia and truly enjoyed spending time with them. These are the moments that make little vacation getaways so neat. All of the staff at the Riverview we encountered were all fantastic and all so kind. Our breakfast was plenty for us; coffee, juices, blueberry muffins, and yogurt parfaits, delivered to our room at the time of our asking. Breakfast was fresh and tasted great. We truly enjoyed our stay/anniversary and will surely come back again. Thanks to all!
We were delighted to spend one night at the River view hotel. Very clean, ideally located, close to the city center. We chose a room on the pool side so as not to be bothered by the noise of the pond and the cars. Our bathroom and bedroom were small, but very clean. I particularly appreciated the bathroom products from the LOccitane en Provence products : excellent quality. And this morning, what a pleasure to have our breakfast served on our private balcony. Yesterday evening we had dinner at the restaurant near the hotel, the Grill at Rever view grill, which I recommend, and then we went for a walk in the city center. Very convenient.
Stayed in this quaint little hotel right on the river. We loved it. The room was super clean and nicely put together. The front desk staff was super friendly and we just loved how everything was set up from the little sitting areas to the shop to our room. I would highly recommend this place if you like older, historic hotels.
Great little rooms, so cute and plenty of room. Front desk staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The location was perfect, on the river but a short walk to the beach. The shops and restaurants were all amazing. Will definitely be back!
We come here frequently but it seems to be changing lately. The front desk employees can be rude or condescending. The carpet in our room was loose to the point that we tripped over it. The deck needs to be redone on the patio and the patio furniture needs to be replaced. No power on the shower head. Also, First dibs on the spa don’t go to hotel quest but to patrons. On the positive side, great beds and sheets, great location and wonderful spa. The spa staff is exceptional. I buy gift cards for friends and they love it too.
Friendly staff and beautiful rooms. Loved the ambiance. It was peaceful and quiet, enjoyed swimming in the pool which is heated. Our room opened up the the pool deck which was wonderful! The decor is calming and relaxing. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets incredibly soft.
Bed too small, rooster too loud. Free breakfast at mermaid cafe was fantastic. Best part about this hotel is the location.
This is a charming old hotel full of history. The owner did a wonderful job of providing guests with all the modern comforts one has come to expect, while taking care to preserve the heritage of the building. The staff are excellent and the breakfast they provided was most satisfying. The hotel is located on the river in the heart of New Smyrnas lovely historic area. The beach, as well as numerous Mom and Pop shops and restaurants, are all within walking distance. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting the city!
This place is absolutely beautiful. The pool area is gorgeous. The hotel is very intimate and such a great experience. The room is quaint with a super nice set up. Rain shower head was the icing on top! Plus, opening our french doors right to the pool was so lovely. There is cute seating on the personal room patios. Next, the staff - everyone was so, so kind and accommodating. I wish i remember names but a big shoutout to the front desk man - long hair and tattoos; he was so kind and gave us great food recommendations (Flagler ave pizza is to die for). Also; house keeping and the supervisor were so lovely and kind. This was my partner and i’s first vacation and since it’s covid time we needed a quaint setting and this was perfect. We did not use the spa this trip, but did go in and it’s gorgeous. To top it all off, the PRICE!!! It’s so affordable for such an amazingly beautiful place. The area & beaches are beautiful as well.
Great place to stay if wanting to spend time around the New Symerna Beach area, and not break the bank.Conveniently located near the beach and around many great eating locations this place will not disappoint. Rooms are cute, and the staff is amazing. The place has a Spa and Restaurant on the complex so if you want a relaxed day to recoup you can easily do so while still feeling like you are experiencing something. Many great eateries are a close walk. Try third wave!! It is NOT just a place for coffee. The pillows are probably the only thing that was not comfortable but to be honest thats near impossible to find at any place you stay. We just happened to forget our pillows so thought I would point that out.Despite that very minor thing this place has everything you need that should accomidate your stay.
Do you want a way to go back in time and feel the peace and relaxation you can only imagine people felt 100 years ago? Well stay here! The hotel is absolutely spotless, charming and unique. You can see and feel history as you walk down the hall to your room ( which by the way still has the original doors that use real keys). However you have all the modern comforts. I absolutely loved sitting on the old fashioned porch! Even the soap and toiletries are out of the past! I have not slept so good at any hotel before. The breakfast is simple but was perfect for me delivered right to the room. I definitely will be going for another weekend in the future!
My husband and I stayed here for two nights in one of their poolside cabana rooms. Our stay was one of the highlights of our trip! While not huge, the room was comfortable and well-appointed. Being able to open our patio door and walk right out to the pool was AMAZING. One thing we loved was being able to borrow their bikes (for free!) and use them to get to all the great stops on Flagler, and to head to the beach. Staff was all super friendly, as well. Thanks for a great stay!
Secluded little pool area and nicely rennovated rooms.
The experience we had at Riverview Hotel & Spa was by far one of luxury and comfort! From service to cleanliness to amenities, everything was top-notch and exceeded all of our expectations. All of the spa services we received were so wonderful. We will definitely be returning as soon as we can!
My husband and I stayed here on our baby-moon and loved it! Not only is it beautifully decorated, but the staff is warm and the place has such charm. Within walking distance to the beach and local restaurants, you will be truly happy with your stay! The spa was great too! They gave me a onesie for my baby!
Quaint little historic hotel. Rooms were rather small, but adorable. Really comfortable beds, and an awesome shower in bathroom. No coffee in room, as you can get it 24/7 in lobby. Restaurant adjacent was very good, but pricey. Great views.
What I was told by this place its very clean. its in a very good place to shop and walk around Flagler avenue and about a half a mile from the beach. River views are beautiful! Never stayed there but I know a person that runs the place and it is very well kept up and clean. And the River on the grill right next door has awesome food a little pricey but worth it and even has an outdoor bar.
The hotel and staff are both very nice. Old Charm feel.Rooms are a bit small, no fridge or microwave, but porch/patio area is very nice and like a additional space to your room.We had a riverview room. While you can see up river and the Ponce Inlet, The restaurant blocks direct view. People coming and leaving the restaurant can make the area feel a bit busy at times. Plus the sound of traffic over the causeway can be a bit noisy. Id reccomend poolside room if you prefer quite setting. The pool area is very nice and relaxing. Overall stay was nice though.
The Pros:The gentleman at the front desk (longer hair and works the later afternoon shift) was very kind and was always helpful when we asked for extra towels or had questions. The location of the property is great! You cant beat being directly on Flagler, and great restaurants are within walking distance. Great view of the Marina. The Cons:The woman that works the overnight shift isnt very personable. When we did speak with her, she seemed to be annoyed that we were bothering her. Also, she made us feel like we could not come and go from the hotel after about 10 pm. I have never felt like I would get in trouble by leaving out a hotels door until this stay. The hotel is over 100 years old, so I understand that certain things will not be up to par with newer hotels. That being said, the rooms need to be maintained better. It looks like someone has tried to do the repairs independently, but dont know what they are doing. Our room had obvious water damage that was repaired and then covered up poorly. The room is small, but I expected that with the age of the hotel. The doors and seals need to be replaced. You can see the light from the hallway creep through under that door and all of the sides (I could actually see the hallway when I looked through the side of the door). Loud noise is made when you open/close and lock the door; when you open the patio door, the room door slams against the door molding, making a loud noise. Also, the humidity is abundant in the room. I brought my small humidifier, and it was half full of water 1 night into our stay. This would be due to the seals on the patio doors that are in desperate need of replacement. The balcony overlooked the pool (and the adjacent back alley and restaurant) and was very spacious, but there was mold on all surfaces. This is the beach, and we are in Florida, and it is humid, but this was incredibly gross and is a health hazard.Due to Covid-19, I understand the breakfast has to be packaged and delivered to the room, but the few available options are nothing but a joke. There is no refrigerator available for the room, so we used the ice bucket for our drinks. I would suggest they invest in some larger ice buckets that are better insulated. After one glass of water, the ice in the bucket had already melted. The toilets need to be replaced or maintained better. They are noisy, constantly run, and you must flush a few times to complete the flush. Also, the renovation for the bathroom is very cramped and was completed with cheap replacements. A rubber piece covered a pipe in the bathroom that was very obvious and covered in paint. Something simple like making the cover white and removing it when they painted the bathroom would have been wise. The doors leading to the parking are locked after 10 pm, which is fine, but there is no sign indicating this. The back stairs and the parking area are VERY DARK! I could barely see walking down the stairs and did not like walking into a parking lot that was practically pitch black.I would say they are overpriced and until the renovations or touch-ups are done properly, I cant imagine paying more than $85 for a night at this hotel. I believe this hotel once was a very quaint and cozy place to stay, but due to neglect and cutting corners, it is not worth the money they charge.
I wished my husband for a weekend getaway at this gorgeous little hotel for a little R and R and let me tell you it was an awesome experience! We loved it so much that we are looking at coming back in another month. The staff was always so helpful and the breakfast they provide each morning for free is delish as well. We also booked a couples massage at their spa which was super relaxing! Highly recommend!
Wow what a beautiful historic hotel. Stay 2 nights and have had just the most wonderful staff and good times. Walking distance to the beach, shopping, food, nightlife. I only have it 4 stars because the toilet runs. Still worth every penny. Quiet and very accommodating. I would love to Thank everyone who was there and made this mini- vacation a success.
I strongly suggest the owner spend a night to improve your services and experience what your guests experience, I was expecting much more.It is easier to open a tin can than get inside the sheets also the stationery decorative sheet is shaby; a PHD in engineering is needed to adjust the room temp, fan and shower controls. It would be appreciated the 6 vertical shower knobs be sign posted.
Charming little B&B on the river. Beautiful pool area to relax by, walking distance to the beach and great little restaurants and shops. We stayed here for our elopement and everyone was so kind. We had coffee delivered every morning and were able to enjoy coffee in bed or on our porch. Highly recommend for a romantic getaway
Little details such as; missing napkins in the rooms, need bigger ice buckets thus to chill a normal size bottle of wine. Also, wine glasses are required. The bathroom tiles in the one room in the 3rd floor needs repair. This is a beautiful classic river side hotel, but it needs some little attention to details. Wife & I had a nice time at the Riverview Grill restaurant. Excellent food and great ambience and music.
Lovely place to stay. The pool is nice and the rooms are very clean. I am horrible at remembering names but I believe his name was JT (young tall man with long blondish hair) WAS SO WONDERFUL! He was incredibly helpful pleasant and accommodating
My wife and I stayed here for our first anniversary and loved it. The Hotel is so charming, and we borrowed the bikes for a nice ride to the beach. Then we went to the spa for treatments. After that, we are sure to come back twice a year to the Spa because we love it so much. The waterfall pool is amazing.
We really had a great time here, setting is beautiful. The views are breat taking. Plenty of things to do walking distance. Also have bikes u can use to bike up to the beach or on the river front to enjoy thecwater views. Its a great hidden secret with plenty of food choices close bye. Recommend Highly!!
Ive stayed at this hotel before. Dont expect a lot. You have to ask for everything. Robes, towels, blow dryer. Its a very old building. Not sound proof!!!! The staff is nice its very charming if you like really old.
Love this place, clean, quaint, great bar restaurant attached, Good location. Nice rooms.
This is our first stay and we love it. Very friendly staff and the ambiance is really nice. Highly recommend this location.
Our whole experience was amazing while it lasted. Booked the suite for my birthday. The Spa is an experience in itself. Dinner at the restaurant superb. Checked in after spa treatments at 4pm. Dinner was at 6pm. During dinner I had an unexpected call that was an emergency. We had fully intended to pay for the night but was graciously refunded the portion of the room. We will be back. Thank you very much. Much Aloha to you.
Lovely hotel. Went here on my wedding night, and the front desk receptionist upgraded us to the grand River view suite, and it was a gorgeous view and setting. The staff even had a personalized card with chocolates waiting for us, congratulating our wedding. Wonderful stay
We have loved our stay here and learning about the history of the building. The pool was relaxing. Service at the front was great.
Charming old building next to a very good, co-owner restaurant.Unfortunately very soft bed, not good for elderly, low backs. Very poor wifi @ our room (105) and five minutes for hot water. Cold breakfast but can be delivered to room if you choose. Pleasant front desk personnel.
Very cozy boutique hotel. Great location on the inland waterway. Walking distance to the ocean. Great restaurant next door. Convenient free parking on property. Great value for your money. Furnishings very nice. Everything perfectly clean.
Our 2nd time staying here because we fell in love with it our first stay & will be back next year. Its not your basic hotel. We love the decor, historical look, & its guiet. Staff is very friendly & helpful. Its nice to see the same faces from last year & they remember you. Extra little things are appreciated, the chocolates, robes, paper strip showing the next days weather forecast, & snacks offered. We stay during Bike Week & they are trailer & biker friendly. Looking forward to next year!
Очень классный бутик-отель. Есть свой бассейн. Номера с балконами - редкость для отелей в США, завтрак в постель к желаемому времени. Мебель классная, красивая обстановка. Были втроём с ребёнком 5 лет, всё очень понравилось.(Translated by Google)Very cool boutique hotel. There is a swimming pool. Rooms with balconies are a rarity for hotels in the USA, breakfast in bed at the desired time. The furniture is cool, the setting is beautiful. There were three of us with a 5-year-old child, we really liked everything.
Quaint place, well kept, within easy walking distance to beach and shops. Nice restaurant and spa also on property. My only squawk was a loose toilet that nearly tipped over and was way too close to the wall fire my comfort, but each room is slightly different and the do have some suites, although I didnt get to see one. A free breakfast is delivered to your room if you request it. Coffee, yogurt parfait, cereal, muffin. They have bikes you can use for free too. I would stsy there again and plan to.
This hotel is very clean and sweet. Right next to the intercoastal waterway so theres a drawbridge to allow boats to pass along but it doesnt bother the hotel guests..it just adds to the atmosphere. The hotel spa is absolutely fantastic and I had a wonderful hot stone massage and enjoyed the spa pool afterwards. The hotel bar was great and we met some lovely locals. All in all a great place to go!
Cute room. Breakfast to your door every day. We didnt get a chance to make it to the spa but we saw it and it looked very relaxing. Pool was refreshing and had nice shaded areas to lay in. Family loved it!
The room door was hard to open and lock with a key, tiny room and bathroom, balcony was not private, I paid for a view of the water, only got a glimpse of it, with the hotels grill in full view, practically under the bridge. The pool is tiny, and its not close enough to the beach.
FREE WINE!Now that I have your attention,This place is awesome! Turn down service is quick which is great if youre in and out like we were. The room was immaculate, we actively looked for dirty linens and towels. We had a great view of the north causeway bridge on the second floor (rm.214.) The breakfast included coffee for two, orange juice, ruby red grapefruit halves and two delicious strawberry/blueberry parfaits. *This was our choice, there are other options*The staff was also very helpful, be sure to ask them about the complementary wine night. If you are from out of town(or local), come here. It supports the economy of the area and gives you a true NSB experience. In hindsight we should have purchased through the room directly through the hotel. Priceline ended up being more expensive than what our room was offered for.-TC
Wow. Historic building in a great location along the central business district in NSB. The lobby doubles as a gift shop. There is a very nice restaurant on premise and a spa which offers massages, pedicures, etc. Our room has a balcony overlooking the pool. The room was modernized with creature comforts and still had historic flare. Come and visit this historic treasure and have fun in NSB.
The Riverview offers gorgeous views of the water from nicely styled rooms that make you feel like you are back in time. Loved the atmosphere and the staff was most helpful and pleasant. Didn’t want to leave and cannot wait to go back!
So many cute special touches. Free wine hour. Free breakfast delivered to the room. Bathrobes to use. Cute gift shop. Great location. Restaurant on the water next door. This hotel was built in 1885.
Was married here and recently spent our first anniversary here. The rooms are exquisitely decorated, the Inn is rich with history and the staff is top notch. Hope to continue our tradition of spending our anniversary every year here.
Our deluxe room had a small Bed, was on the ground floor in dark side of the hotel with a view of the entrance to a restaurant. No privacy at all and a dont care attitude from the member of staff we approached about it. If booking here ask for a room by the pool.
Haven’t been here before but have heard it’s nice. I’m hoping to do a birthday spa day. I called and the reception female at the spa pleasantly told me that my preferred services were available but I could only stay one hour after treatments to use pool due to COVID. I was VERY disappointed because I was hoping to enjoy a SPA DAY. Although one could be INSIDE spa for 3 hours receiving treatments, but after one hour OUTSIDE at pool one will be asked to leave. Or as she said, and you must “be on your way. It’s to avoid too many in one area at a time.” Though in spa doesn’t seem to be restricted! I pwas hoping to test this spa out for future regular use with friends, colleagues, or company. This is a seriously poor first impression before I even arrive!
Beautiful place. Fantastic people. They were so warm and helpful. We had a great time. The restaurant was also very good. We will definitely be going back.
We were here on a day trip and decided to have lunch. The burger and fish n chips meal were delicious. We were able to sit out on the deck with a beautiful view of the water.
After the Riverview Spa ruined my entire surprise weekend for my mom, the hotel was so gracious to pick up the slack. The receptionist was so polite and wanted to make this weekend amazing for us again. Thanks again Arden for saving my moms 60th birthday surprise!
Nice little Boutique hotel located on the Intercoastal Waterway at the North Causeway in New Smyrna Beach. Built in 1885 and each room is different. Great staff and a fun place to stay.
Like an oasis full of peace and exceptional service. It should be a must for everyone visiting New Smyrna. Our boss took us for a Christmas treat and we really enjoyed it
I had a great time. The staff was excellent! Very friendly and helpful they carried bags, told the history of the location and in general took their time to make sure we were happy. Beautiful location!
This place is amazing! Super friendly staff, great customer service and such cute rooms. Each room is a different feel and experience and I would definitely recommend! 5 stars
I booked a room for my parents as it was his birthday. The hotel & service was outstanding! Staff was friendly & very welcoming. Thank everyone for making his dad absolutely amazing.
Charming hotel! Very comfortable rooms, friendly staff and nice pool area. A little disappointed I didnt have a better river view, but its ok, Id stay there again.
This was the perfect stay for my boyfriend and I who were looking for a charming romantic little getaway! We will definitely be coming back.
Renovated beyond your wildest expectations. Been there for centuries. Quaint, tasteful on the water. Steps to an outstanding water front dining experience, with the appropriate beverages in an unbelievable atmosphere. Think Sunset!
This hotel is wonderful , stayed there in room #16 , each room has a famous person name on the door , ours was a cartoonist and it had his cartoons framed on the walls , everything was clean and setup nice , the continental breakfast was great plenty of choices, staff was friendly, we will only ever stay there when in St. Mary’s.They have a fun nightlife we were in the Saloon on a Friday night “karaoke” nite.
The best Fresh Baked (Soft) Cookies on the planet and of course the pool side rooms and service are amazing!! They really took care of my wife who was on bed rest during our stay there. Thank you 😄
Old style architecture. You feel like at home.
Great customer service, delicious free cookies, breakfast delivered to room, mimosas!!! Such a sweet charming little place. Nice restaurant on the water as well.
We cant wait to come back! Our stay was nothing but the best! Customer service, Amenities, very very clean everywhere on property! Thank you for a wonderful experience!
We booked a couples massage and it was fantastic! Cindy and Cynthia were friendly and professional. Very relaxed after the experience! Can’t wait to come back 🤗
Beautiful old building. Clean, comfortable rooms with balconies. Complimentary breakfast delivered to the room. Cant wait to go back.
It is perfect if youre looking for a casual hotel with almost a b&b mood....
My boyfriend and I had a great time this weekend... despite the weather.. great location and extremely nice and helpful staff! Very cute and quaint! We will be back! Thank you!
Always the favorite place to put people up when they come to town the pool is wonderful their rooms are quaint. But the spa oh my goodness what a pleasure to spend the day at the Riverview spa.
Beautiful place. Its right on the river. The atmosphere is divine. Great place to go have some drinks for a date night. The food is amazing
Super Cozy , Great couples Hotel. Awesome to sit on the porch and look at the Canal after a long day ! Be sure a go to the spa if you have time !
The price was outrageous for the room that we had we had the captain sweet or something they were calling it
Extremely nice service, beautiful location, nicely decorated, and free breakfast. Most importantly, very affordable and they have full body showers with a nice, big pool.
Came for Sunday brunch. Bloody Mary bar was great. Live music, excellent food and wonderful service. Would definitely come again 😊
Great old style hotel on the River. Cookies 24/7. Free breakfast. Nice beds. Friendly staff.
We love this hotel! Wonderful experience every time! Only suggestion is to add mini fridges to every room.
Wonderful and quaint location and staff was very responsive! Definitely a place we will return to - The Mermaid Cafe was GREAT
Lovely hotel, wonderfully operated and well located to everything fun in New Smyrna Beach.
Service was great, amazing staff, place and view was beautiful, food was amazing, a lot of space in rooms, really expensive just for one night though, but all in all great place to stay😀😀
I really enjoyed the heated pool. Beds are soft and rooms are well equipped.
Fabulous Little Hotel in a great location ideal for a quick getaway walking distance to canal street also has fabulous restaurant next door overlooking the river Cant recommend the Hotel enough give it a try you wont be disappointed
Beautiful structure. Over 130 years old and they keep the traditional look and feel with modern amenities.Love the place. Highly recommended.
Very pleasant, historic inn in New Smyrna Beach, located under one of the two bridges to this barrier island. Small gift shop and popular reztaraunt located on the premises.
Over many years, the food and service here have been consistently good. The ambience in this prime location on the river makes for an enjoyable dining experience.
Charming. Rooms need a remodel but everything was clean. Staff friendly. Plenty of options for dining within walking distance.
I took several people, after having dinner there, into the gift shop only to find all of the changes to be a total disappointment.
I have traveled the world this was my best ever stay, the hotel is nice, the staff is excellent, I wanted to bring the matress back with me. I will return for another stay
Spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean intercoastal, Beautiful sunset couldnt ask for a better dinning experience, Moderate price range full outdoor bar and seating, Nice gift shop and full spa 👍
Great Boutique Hotel. 3rd floor has only 3 rooms and private. No elevator in the hotel so not suitable for some older ppl
A nice place but if you like to sleep past 8 then you will be woken up because the doors and walls are so thin. The bathrooms could use an upgrade as well.
Nice hotel, great breakfast. Enjoyed. Rooms are small but good.
Very lovely quaint 130 year old hotel. Well kept and maintained. Friendly staff and knowledgeable of the area.
Great location, awesome staff. Get the Flaming Citrus next door. Literally the only complaint is the bananas tasted funny.
It smelled a little musty in the room and whole building but the beds were comfy and it was in a good location.
Wonderful place to stay for a weekend getaway. Room was very clean and the staff was very friendly.
We had a wonderful time. The rooms were beautiful. Staff excellent.
Quaint, gracious, comfortable, unique. Rooms, amenities, staff, restaurant are exceptional. Quality and value plus!
The food was quite good, and service was decent for the most part. Did however get completely ignored by an employee when i was trying to get their attention and that was upsetting...
Very nice place. Clean and great location. Rooms comfy. Parking offered.
Feels like home. Beautiful view. Polite staff. Clean establishment. Quiet location.
Amazing place, staff lovely and helpful. Great for a peaceful getaway. Couldnt fault this place.
Great stay! Shower and TV, I little bit less friendly to use, overall I would recommend the stay.

Quaint, reminds me of the Grand Hotel on Mackinac island.
Excellent place to stay established in 1885!
Unprofessional management and very rude staff. Would not recommend.
