The atmosphere here on an early Sunday was Addams family glorious. I so loved the dark sprinkled with candles! Gomez, speak French to me! And the music was great too.
Val, incredible service in the big city. Total tourist here and felt taken care of and welcomed. Good music and chill vibes. Thanks Jason for helping us out as well.
Val(entino) and Jason are absolute rockstars of the service industry. This place was a Very warm and welcoming respite to an otherwise awful day beforehand. 11/10 would recommend and definitely coming back here again when I’m in town.
We were accused of being rowdy when one of the billiard balls rolled under our table. We were not playing, the ball was retrieved, everything was fine. A man who said he was the bartender came to our table obviously very drunk and harassed us. We were 5 people, each with 1 drink. He said we had racked up a lot of drinks. Not a.safe space. I regret going there. They turned an otherwise drama free evening into a very stressful event.
A nice low-key neighborhood bar. Stop by for Happy Hour. They have late-night events but I havent been to one yet.
Layout/atmosphere*LGBTQ bar; entrance downstairs from street level; fireplaces; dimly lit, candles & red bulbs; disco ball; wall counters with stools; tables; corner nooks; pool table; ATM on premisesFood/drink*No food menu*Chips/snacks available
Randomly walked in because of the MUSIC. Bartedar Jason is a sweet heart and his playlist gave me all the life I needed on the this day of Mothers ✨💕 Happy Mother’s Day Mom 👸🏻 also thank you jason😘
The bouncer refused entry without a physical licence so we went back to the future where they issue digital IDs.
Sammier is the best. Absolute GOAT. Hes took great care of us and is absurdly the BESSSST
Went there with some friends a few days ago. Very nice cozy atmosphere with low lighting and some colorful holiday lights. Cheap happy hour drinks. Bartender however was not the warmest.
I had such a great time visiting this bar on a Wednesday afternoon! I was visiting New York for the week, and got to chat with Pat the bartender. He was super friendly and made me some great gin & tonics! Also gave me some great recommendations to continue exploring the neighborhood. Thank you Pat for a wonderful time! I hope to be back next time I am in New York.
Felt a really bad vibe from the bartender. Racist atmosphere.
Such a lovely venue, the bartender however was the rudest I have encountered yet in the city. When I politely critiqued how he spoke to me he began laughing and said ‘who are you going to report me to?’. When I asked for his name he told me ‘Rick’. I work in a bar myself and the way he spoke to his customers was disgusting. Me and my friend will never be back.Visit was 20th September at 11:05pn
IMO the best gay bar in the East Village. Great dim-lit atmosphere with colorful lights, groovy music with frequent themed DJ nights, friendly bartenders Patrick and Valentino, pool table, and always an interesting crowd. East village locals, NYU kids, old, young. It’s one of those special NYC places where everybody comes together.
Not an inclusive place at all.. doesn’t feel safe
Temporarily Closed due to an expired health permit but they didn’t update their hours on here so I ubered all the way there.
Patrick was a great time and bar tender. He’s definitely bringing gay back and it makes me feel at home. Will definitely be back once we move back home next year! Thank you for keeping it a queer bar right next to my partners moms house. You will feel loved here
Super cool and the music very gay. I love it 😀
Racist bartenders, treated my friends horribly and made them feel unwelcome.
Normally love this spot but tonight was weird. I ordered a Jameson on rocks and the bartender gave me a pint of Jameson. I was flattered but also like ...whats this? He said you ordered 5 whiskeys on rocks .... When I kindly asked for just one not five he tripped and proceeded to become aggressive. This bartender took it to level 11.3 stars for Nowhere being a cool spot and -2 for the psycho bartender.
Went for a coworkers birthday we celebrated during happy hour. They have very inexpensive drinks and they are strong. Not much for atmosphere bit we had a great time amongst ourselves and the bar staff were friendly. This place is a step down so is not wheel chair accessible. They do check everyones ID as well.
My partner and I had a lovely time when we came for happy hour. The drinks where cheap and the bar was very chill. The patrons werent very sociable, but maybe they will be when we come back on a Saturday. Other reviewers complained about being carded, but if youre 21 theres nothing wrong with that and if youre not then you shouldnt be there anyway.
Good atmosphere and great drink specials
Idk didnt go, sounds cool in theory though.
I regularly meet up with a friend here for Happy Hour on Fridays, and Im a fan! With decent drinks, low prices, and a lively yet laid back atmosphere, how could I not be?And with a Yelp check-in, you get a $1 off any drink!
Surprisingly fun! We walked right by it at first, its definitely a dive, but the bartender was attentive, the crowd was very low key, great place to lounge and have a drink!
I really like this place a lot - its recently become my go-to for a drink in the area. Bartenders are super friendly and the vibe is nice and laid back. Somewhat of a hipster crowd which I find to be a nice change from the circuit scene that can happen sometimes in HK or Chelsea. I drink cider usually. A pool table is available if thats your thing.
Low-key, low-ceilinged bar with experienced bartenders who keep the drinks flowing, never keeping you long when ordering. Every night is a different experience yet every night is familiar. No attitude but all fierceness in having a good time. All are welcomed ... All.
My husband & I stayed in NY for Labor Day weekend and one of the places we kept going back to was Nowhere. Sonny the bartender was wonderful - hes so down to earth and approachable, he made good, strong drinks, reasonably priced, but more than that: my husband lost an item in the bar and no one had seen it. Right after we left - literally a block down the street on our way to the subway - we hear someone bellow my husbands name. We turn around in surprise, cause we dont know anyone in NY, and its Sonny! Someone had turned in the lost item right after we left and he ran outside to get it back to us. We gave him a hug and thanked him, and promptly came back the next night for more drinks. 😁🍸🍹🍻🥃Also: DJ Dexter Driscoll was so sweet - he even took requests. 😄🕺🏼💃🎼🎵🎶 I definitely recommend everyone check it out! Also love the atmosphere & décor! 👍🏻 Thanks!
Best NYC queer dive! This place gave me shelter as a new NYC transplant over 15 years ago and its still one of favorites. Cheap drinks, and the best kind of degenerates.
I would not recommend this bar. The female bartender was rude and condescending to me. She said my vaccination card was fake because my vaccine card was from Florida. It was very disrespectful and I will not come back to this bar. It very inappropriate to be frank!
I lost my bag here -- someone appears to have stolen it. When I asked the security guard he smarmily told me to go look for it and reminded me that its a bar. No responsibility and no sympathy, and attitude as well.Thankfully I called them up the next day and they had it safely behind the bar! I guess one of the employees picked up to keep it from being snatched. The drink my friend got was way too strong. They also have a $20 minimum for credit card charges.
One of few bars now that we go to frequently enough. Its low ceiling and divey appearance makes up for the drink prices and just local guys hanging out our passing through for a drink or two. They have theme night there so and even trivia night which we stumbled on too. Overall is just a laidback place to chill with a friend or date. Get comfy on the sofas or nook and drink the night away.
This bar is sooooo racist. We waited for soo long and we didn’t even get offfer a drink, while other white customers got their drink and they came after us. Another customer noticed and he asked us if we wanted him to ask for the drinks. Terrible experience, I never felt sooo discriminated in my entire life. Im definitely not coming back and I don’t recommend this place at all.
Said hello to the door man no response just a point of his finger stood at the bar and wasnt paid attention to by the bartendersAnd it was a Friday night. 4 /27 and it wasnt busy by and means and iWork a bar in the west village in NYC. Poor. Service and poor service from the doorman. The bar deserves better
If the show Cheers was set in a gay bar, and it skewed dive-ier because it was in the East Village, youd be Nowhere (so to speak). Its got a friendly neighborhood bar vibe, no frills, and good drinks. They often host DJs at the end of the bar on weekend nights. Theres a pool table and couches I wouldnt sit on unless I was drunk. Theres a nook in the front if you hook a sharp left as you enter for canoodling or to stuff your coat or bag. Some nights its packed and others its a ghost town. My preferred way to visit it is to bounce back and forth from Beauty Bar across the street and down the block to Nowhere, depending on crowds and mood.
Came here with a couple of friends and was told to go across the street because it would be more our crowd, verbatim. I guess cis people arent welcomed here, especially not if they are black, hispanic, or brown, so beware! The woman with the short haircut behind the bar was also very unfriendly, rude, and nasty.
At the age of 38 and 45 my husband and I got IDd by some dick at the door. I had my UK photographic driving licence and my husband only had his credit abd debit cards...so, no entry. What a joke. We left Christopher St to come here in a taxi and then got turned away - a waste of money on a taxi. Avoid this place like the plague...asking grown adults for ID....youre not that special Nowhere Bar. 😠
My favorite bar!!! I go every Monday!! Raul is the best bartender ever!!!
As a trans woman of color going into nowhere is sometimes triggering, but if you go with friends and are just trying to have an intimate low key time its the place to drink cheap, bring cash though, there is a $25 card minimum.
Great hole in the wall. The best thing are the people there, great fun. The ceilings are low and its get hot and sweaty... They need more bar attenders, getting a drink could be a challenge when the place is crowded.
Nowhere is a relaxed bar and just what we were looking for. We read a few negative reviews about the bartenders but that was not our experience at all.The bartenders are friendly and very nice to talk to.
Cliquey old queen bar, somehow still functioning
If a company page says they close at 4:00 yet they close at 2:00 a.m. isnt that a clause* LAW
The bartender didn’t want to let me in because I didnt have my vaccination card (in June ‘22 when there’s not more COVID restrictions in the city)
Felt uncomfortable as bartender was rude
Fun, low-key, laid-back and cheap gay bar. The frozen margaritas are refreshing, the drink strong, but not overly so. Go on Macho Mondays.
Very friendly gay bar in the middle of 14th street. More of a dive bar atmosphere. Moderately priced drinks, but they make em strong! Can get crowded on weekends.
Since when did a nonexistent place exist. Like for real tho. The name “nowhere” is nothing. It’s no where. And he photos looks like one of those fanmade levels in the back rooms. So I rate 1 star
Loved the Christmas ambience...they have a very cute nook. Reasonable prices. The service is great. Nice place to chill and have drinks.
This bar really cares about staying unique. The music is always great, staff are always genuine, and the atmosphere is generally always friendly.
The worst. Bartender had an attitude, crowd was pathetic and charge to get in. Don’t waste your time.
Great happy hour. I also appreciate the casual, laid back vibe here. Its one of my favorite bars.
Nice dive - type gay bar. The drinks are great and the happy hour prices are better. Also, billiards.
Great ambiance, the drinks are on par, good local spot
Don’t waste your time and money there! Service is horrible and the female bartender has an attitude!
Its a little weird bar, nothing special for an underground gay place that it supposed to be. Theres no reasons to stay in more than one beer.
Cheap drinks (and very generous pours) make this the ideal spot to start your night. Can get a bit crowded at times, but nothing unpleasant.
We enjoyed it as a group. We werent very interested in the ru paul show but the drinks were good.
They have a great happy hour! The vibes are also very cool and fun.
THEY HAVE ME LOCKED IN A DUNGEON UNDERGROUND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RESTAURANT I AM LITERALLY LIVING IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE
Lovely low-key gay bar, nicest bartender Ive ever seen
Cute little bar with a great staff. Nice to sew the regulars and it definitely has not sold out
Great divvy bar. One of friendliest bar staff in town. Happiest happy hour!
Down to earth East Village gay bar with fun people and great bartenders.
Great crowd and staff. It was a fun Monday night :)
It’s an all right bar, but dont come alone, nobodys social to outsiders. But maybe thats just New York
Stopped in for a cheap happy hour beer, still felt like old New York 👍
My old neighborhood haunt. Its a dive bar, but its clean and fun. Friendly crowd and bartenders.
There is no place like Nowherelow key, unpretentious, friendly.great drink prices,
Kind bartenders and an overall welcoming environment
Great music, good drinks and amazing prices!
Terribly dangerous. uneven floor. unlit temporary stage. tripped. ripped my pants (knee) and busted my knee (bleeding).
The carribean strippers are soo aggressive here OMG! FINE, but bout their money!
Low ceilings but it’s a great bar. No complaints
Nrvor gone there bast on the reviews horble would rate 1 1/2 stars
Good place ! Thanks Patrick!! ❤️😎
Not your typical gay scene. Great alternative to the typical Chelsea type gay bar scene.
I had a good time, great dancers, good drinks
2 dollars beer at happy hour and nice atmosphere!
A bar that charges to enter on a Monday evening?
Really nice staff and good vibes
Thanks, Gavin. Great conversation and great service. Definitely what we needed.
Be careful, some bartender will cheat your drinks. And some of then asking for different price.
Always a dark environment, unfriendly staff and crowd, 25 bucks minimum on credit.
Place was tiny and boring. No dancing whatsoever.
This place is awesome. Very trans friendly!
Quintessential NY gay bar. Gets busier later on.
Wasn’t nothing really goin on
Nice place to have one or two beers down a chat with a friend
The minimum on credit card is $25. Pathetic!
The 80s hits were on point!
Liked it
This a divey gay bar. There really isnt that much else to it...
Best Restaurant in Queens
Sex video
Fun place to stop on the way home.
Too small
Only for drinks 🍸
Iconic and cheap
Nice cozy place
Sexy dancer
Horrible place. The heavy and unbearable guard. The bar tender is rude, violent and not at all friendly. They both yelled at us. I dont recommend this place at all. I will not come back. There are many other places with cool people that I prefer to go to.
Not worth the detour.
