Sub-par dip manicure for too high of a price.Waiting: first, I called and they said I could just walk in 10 min and get my dip done, which I appreciated. When I arrived, I waiting about 20 minutes (which I didn’t care about), but I skipped a girl who eventually left because only had one of her gel nails taken off and she was very clear that she has a time constraint.Process: the process was very unusual and wasn’t like any other dip manicures I’ve ever had. To get off my gel, she soaked my fingers a bowl of acetone and then picked the rest of my he color off with her own nails instead of wrapping each nail individually and using tools. Then, I said that I wanted plain white and she brought two colors that were both sparkly white. I made it specifically clear that the powder looked sparkly, but it wasn’t until she had dipped 3 of my nails in the powder that she realized the powder was sparkly and actually made an effort to find the right color. After she went through the process, she kept using the drying liquid, which (in my experience) you only use once. So, once all the powder was SUPER dried onto my nails and skin, the lady used acetone and her fingernails again to try and pick off all the mistakes. Then she took clippers and just cut off the dead skin that the powder had dried on. Despite all these efforts, my fingers still ended up looking messy (as shown in picture). Lastly, with all the residual powder still on my hands, usually I would wash my hands under running water, but she just wiped my hands with a towel and proceeded to moisturize my hands.Overall, it was nice that they were able to squeeze me in and the staff was very nice and kind, but even though my nails look fine, my fingers were messy and the process was unique.
I’ve been a loyal customer for two years, but am coming to terms that the quality and service has deteriorated here. My biggest issue is that the quality of the services is so poor relative to the prices they charge. A lot of the new technicians don’t seem to have much experience or training. I paid $90 (excluding tip) for a spa gel pedicure that was really not too different from a regular gel pedicure.
Poor manicure service and bad attitudeCindy - She did not exfoliate my hands or anything a regular manicure includes. All she did was file and paint the nails. The other ladies were nice and I didn’t say anything to her to avoid drama. I tipped her fair for what I received and she gave me an attitude and tried to make me tip her more. I’m fair with people’s work if the job is well done and you’re nice. You’re better off somewhere else!
I live near this location and thought it would be my go-to when I moved into the neighborhood. However, I have experienced ridiculous, unacceptable and barely legal practices. My foot has been cut, blood drawn, and I have not gotten any refund. On services I do not deem acceptable, I have tipped less and subsequently had my card practically thrown at me as the workers demand more money. The boss of this establishment has never shown his or her face and is crooked. He, or she, encourages their employees to engage in WORST practices. I will never, ever be returning to this place. And will be certain to tell every single person I know in the world my horrible experiences here.
Seems like a very crooked owner. Would not allow employees to do a refund (best practices) after making me bleed in two places. Clearly everyone was scared of the owner probably treats / pays employees horribly. Finally they said they would give me “half back” then tried to get rid of me with $7 cash (my service was $47 + 20% tip). Will never go back and telling everyone I know to steer clear until they start respecting customers. Owner answers everyone saying please contact— but offers no contact information
Was in the neighborhood and needing a quick spot to get my nails done. Gel manicure is $38 (fair for the area) my nail tech was Anna - she was really nice, she took her time and even gave a little massage toward the end. Salon is clean, I appreciate how they use disposable buffers and files, would definitely come back here again :)
Very clean salon. Only thing is that I had to wait half an hour past my appointment time (which I called ahead and reserved) but I’m still giving 5 stars because I’m happy with the service I received. I could tell my manicurist was very detail-oriented and took care that my manicure ended up perfect. I’ll be returning.
Clean and Friendly, and they also have some of the best massage chairs I have ever used. However the pictures below are immediately after I left, after having 4 cycles of drying. They focus a little more on the pampering than the look, maintenance, and cleaning of your feet. If you enjoy the pamper then it may be for you. If you prefer the scrubs and actual care, filing, and cuticle cutting of your nails and feet then it is not.My nail tech Cady worked a little too quickly to actually care for my hands and feet. She left before I was even finish drying to check my nails. As I was getting my pedicure, I was noticing next to me that customer (my coworker), was getting more attention to her feet than I was (as we were receiving the same service; Mani Pedi combo, I added the $12 massage extra) There were certain things my nail tech did not do that I was noticing being done to my coworker next to me by her nail tech.As an owner of bar back home for 15 years, of course in the industry for 20, and now a systems tech engineer, I understand the standard 20% as a minimum for me. I start all tech and services at a $10 minimum tip; right there I had already decided I was only tipping her $5 because I wasn’t really enjoying the service. Her attitude was great and polite, but skills wise I did not think it was worth $50 and didn’t leave satisfied with my results. Especially seeing that My nails had shipped after going to grab for my bag. Gel is always an alternative around this however she insisted that the polish would dry fine and quicklyNot only did she rush to finish, when I went to pay before starting my nails I asked if I could tip on my cc, she told me “No” they only accept cash tips. I only had $2 in cash and they did not have an ATM. While I was drying she asked if she could have her tip now because she was leaving. I was a little startled by this since I had just got under the dryer. So I handed her the $2, which of course she didn’t appreciate or understand. But i told her it was the only cash I had on me and reminded her she told me I couldn’t leave a tip on a credit card. She insisted on processing my card again just for the tip but it would be an extra processing fee which could of been avoided if she would of just allowed me to tip on the card the first time.Moral of the story, if you receive a bad tip, ask yourself how well was your service first and what are some things you did or didn’t do to receive oneAnd also be careful because you never know when your business is being “Secret Shopped”
Today was my first time going to this place and i will never go again. I asked about regular pedicure and the lady did everything so fast , for the nail i color I chose she just did One coat you can’t even tell the color she was more interested for the tip
Amazing place! What a bang for the buck! $16 for a manicure and Helen paid so much attention to detail— re-painting and cleaning until my nails were perfect. Didn’t even have to ask. Great selection of colors too. Would recommend to anyone!
Came here with a friend on a whim and so glad we found it. Such pleasant experience and very wide selection of colors to choose from whether it’s gel or regular. The price was very reasonable for a gel manicure considering how good it came out. Really pleased by the quickness but did not once feel rushed at all. Will definitely be returning!
The spa is nice and has good music. Overall the staff was respectful. However, the wait time was very long. I did a dip powder manicure and I thought it was odd that in order to complete the process I had to use the UV lamp. I was under the impression that SNS powder did not require this, as I chose this specific service because it is healthier than gel manicures. I’m not sure if I would return.
On 08/27/2022 I scheduled an appointment for 12:30pm. The price paid for a manicure and pedicure with gel was not worth $112. The service was super rushed. Pedicure was a decent job including the foot massage, however, when it came to my manicure, the service was not great. My manicure service was done at the pedicure chair. Customers around me that received the same or similar service from other technicians were transitioned and received a manicure at the actual nail chair with no issue and without a request. Due to me having gel that required removal, just to save time, I assumed that the technician (Cindy) was removing the gel with the nail drill at the pedicure chair, then was going to move me to an actual chair to finish the service. When I noticed I was getting everything done super fast at the pedicure chair area which had limited space, I commented and brought the concern to her attention that needed to be corrected, such as, being careful while using the nail drill to remove gel as I felt my top nail enamel was starting to burn due to going too fast, not removing all the skin from my cubicles, and repainting areas of the nail that was not coated all the way. When the technician noticed that another client entered the location with an appointment that was nearing time, she immediately requested me to place both of my hands inside the UV nail light (that was designed for one hand at a time) to dry nails quicker. At that time, I communicated the service is being rushed and I expect quality service, and if the nails are not done correctly, she would have to spend extra time to resolve the issue. During time of check out and receiving the final price, I became more concerned and frustrated due to the amount of money required for the mediocre service provided. When I communicated that the price was not worth the service, however I would still pay, they immediately offered $10.00 off. I stated it was not about to money, but the principle, as I am not, nor did I request a discount, however, it needed to be brought to their attention that the service was not great, as each customer should be treated fairly, and this shouldn’t happen to anyone moving forward, especially when paying for a service. I’ve paid for nail service that exceeded $112 (not including a tip) at other locations and received amazing service, as well as tipping very well.
I used to love this place but their hunger for money has negatively impacted the bussiness. You made an appointment but then you are told they cannot take you. Today my pedicure was done and the girl went to attend another person; I was told she is almost done one minute ,please;then 5 minutes... After waiting almost 10 minutes, I went to see what the girl was doing. I realized that she was just starting the job. I complained about the matter because I had an appointment. I had to wait almost 20 minutes for my pedicure and now I should wait another40.minutes or moreThe owner should hire more girls or get organized. Avoid this place unless you have a lot of time.
I had a very bad experience. Lack of disinfection of hands and feet. Lack of disinfection of pedicure and manicure devices. The pedicure was rough and poor quality. The master did a manicure for 10 minutes, only cut off my nails, said that this is a manicure. Seriously? Thank you. I dont need a manicure and pedicure like that
My go-to nail salon as their atmosphere is peaceful and very clean. I’ve been going here for a year now as I love their gel pedicures - it usually lasts about a month or so without much peeling. However the gel manicures can’t seem to last for about two weeks without chipping. I’m not sure if this is technique or if only I experience this, but it happens every time.
First off, right when I came in, I was not greeted by any of the staff and proceeded to sit around for 30 minutes before finally one of the staff came to ask what service I needed. Then, when I was getting my pedicure, I was handed a menu of overpriced extra services that were unnecessary. Additionally, the staff were often distracted and didnt completely focus on my pedicure, for example, when another customer came in, she immediate stopped the pedicure and went to the front to ask the customer what he wanted in a mean tone. My pedicure lasted less than 10 minutes and was already rushed out of the message chair. Overall, the service is not great and the pedicure job was subpar, I would recommend to find a new spa.
I’m not one to write reviews at all, but the incompetence I’ve experienced at this place is just unreal. I’ve gone four separate times (so I’ve really given them a fair chance) and have been SEVERELY disappointed 3/4 times. The first time I wanted dip nails, and they came out completely see-thru, grainy, and completely misshapen. The lady did 3 layers of dip and then 3 ADDITIONAL layers of a gel polish on top of the dip to make them opaque. I had little mountains of polish on my nails to say the least. I like very square nails with slight rounding of the corners. Almost all my nails came out slanted, too rounded or too square with a literal 90 degree angle of the corner. I kept repeatedly asking for them to be fixed in the shaping, and the lady could not deliver. The second time it was a nightmare to get the original nails off, and I kept explaining what the First lady did. I did gel polish, which then came off within a week with again very poorly shaped nails and polish application. Every time I’ve been here they have sniped my cuticles too much and have made me bleed. The third time I got a good lady and she did a full set of tips and hard gel on top which came out lovely. This one lady (Emma, I believe) actually cared about the shape and took her time. Unfortunately I still got sniped this time around and every time I’ve been here With an appointment, I’ve had to wait on average 30-45 minutes to even be seen. This last time will have been the last straw. I booked an appointment specifically with Emma and even changed the day of the appointment because they said she wouldn’t be in the day I originally scheduled. Emma was not in fact there, and I waited 35 minutes to be seen after my appointment. They then didn’t believe what I told them the girl had done (tips & hard gel on top) kept saying it was dip - it was not- and then made me sit for 55 minutes to soak while my technician gave another lady a pedicure because they were running so behind. This soak did not work at all, and a new lady proceeded to take an hour to remove my nails. When she finally gets them done, she goes to shape my nails and every single one is slanted. I have to explain to her that I need them to be straight, and each time I say something and try to show her, she takes back my hand and says she isn’t done yet. I kept correcting her on each nail. I wanted to keep my nails long (had three weeks to grow them out from vacation). The nails on my left hand are significantly shorter than the nails on my right hand from how poorly she filed/cut them initially and had to keep filing to try to make them straight. Despite all my best attempts, 4 nails came out very wonky. And she cut a cuticle. I got there at 5:55pm and left at 9:20pm (for nail removal and a regular w/o tips gel manicure).*updating review to say that 2 days later my gel manicure is already chipped (haven’t worked out or done anything strenuous)I would simply avoid this place at all costs. Appointment or no appointment, you will typically have to wait too long to even be seen. And they don’t even get pedicures right either (done them 3/4 times I’ve gone and none have lasted/chip within days/ misshape your toenails). I don’t think it’s too much to ask that my big toe nails are equal length and that was a difficult feat for them to accomplish. Again, I never write reviews but after the several disappointments from this place and most of their staff, I have to let the people know. They do not know how to properly do nails, you will be disappointed, and have your time wasted.
One of the staff members was soo rude! She Threw my card back at me because I didnt get a massage due to them being late getting me in the chair for my pedicure. I was on time and had a show to go to afterwards. Once I told the staff member I didnt have time, she yelled at me and all the other staff members watched and said nothing. This experience almost ruined my entire vacation!
They do AMAZING job with the nails! Every time I went there I was very happy. Very good quality, specially from the guy Leo. But the waxing… I had the most terrible experience in my life. The waxing heater wasn’t working so she was trying to wax my legs with the cold wax. It was very painful, my legs are in bruises! It was for the whole hour and she kept doing it, after seeing that she is hurting me. After the whole hour I asked her to stop. After all she charged me the whole price for it and it was half done plus it was a torture. After me not leaving the appropriate tip, she didn’t even say thank you and commented something on her language to her coworkers. I dont know should I go back there and I will really miss those amazing nailsTerrible experience:(
I got a walk-in gel manicure this evening from Cady and I couldn’t be more pleased with how it turned out. She worked quickly and was meticulous about the details to make sure it looked perfect. It also was very reasonably priced. I will definitely be coming back!
The fact that they hand you a menu that does not have their regular pedicure even listed is misleading. I was in a hurry (and I told them that), didn’t want the massage (honestly, the massage was not even good), and wasn’t aware that a regular pedicure was even an option. Save yourself some $$, skip the spa pedi, and just get a regular pedi. Paint job is decent
I really like this place. I feel comfortable knowing they are hygienic with their tools. Good selection of polishes. They are a very clean and nice looking salon too. This was my go-to nail spot when I lived in the east village. I was ALWAYS happy with the service. And the prices are GREAT. I now live in prospect heights and after being unhappy with the affordable nail salons, I make the 45 min commute to come to a reliable place I know I can trust.
Great place in the East Village. Ive been going here for over 2 years and have had consistently good experiences. I also started to bring my daughter once she was a little older and they are super friendly to her and gentle. The ladies who work here are warm and welcoming, the place is always spotless, and if Im on a tight schedule I simply call ahead to make an appt, so I dont have to wait. I recommend this place for its great service, good value, and quality manicures and pedicures.
I walked in for gel extensions with a French tip and this was the most thorough manicure I’ve ever had. The owner really took his time shaping and buffing and my nails look amazing! This is my new favorite nail salon.
Fine service, the space was very organized and clean, I came on only to get my gel removed and it was done in 10 mins, though it was left really thin.
I was pleased with the place. Very nice set up, but the lady working on me felt the need to talk about me. Thats fine and dandy it just effected her $10.00 tip and earned her $3.00. Ive been to smaller places with nicer people. Therefore I will not be coming back here again. Plus she didnt do such a great job either.
I LOVE THIS PLACE. its very calm and relaxing. its a really clean and a lovely nail spa. the staff a really friendly and they alway fit me in even if i am really close to their closing time. They clearly take a lot of pride in the decoration and up keep and its be far superior to many of the other spas in the east village but the same prices. i have moved to Williamsburg now and i still come here over any other spa in the city!
I had Ann as my nail lady and she was not good. She was super aggressive and cut my cuticles around 3 times. You could see blood on about three different nails and the paint job wasn’t the greatest either.
Love this nail salon. I only ever come here! Bright, clean, happy environment. Out of the 20+ times I have come here, I have only ever had a problem once. When I came back in about it, the owner who is very kind and professional fixed it right away. Their service and customer service is what keeps me coming back :) Thank you Orchid Garden
Got the dip powder manicure from Lisa. She was meticulous and I was thrilled with how they turned out. Affordable, very clean/Covid safe, and cozy. Will definitely be returning.
TERRIBLE PLACE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Ive been here before and the mani/pedis are really below average, but it is a convenient location and my usual place was really busy, so I decided to go here. BIG MISTAKE. I walked in for a mani/pedi and it was pretty busy and I asked how long it would be until I would be seen. All of the employees just looked at each other and no one answered me. I asked again, only to hear more chatter amongst the employees and still no answer regarding how long the wait would be. Then a man escorted me into an empty pedicure chair and walked away. I made the incorrect assumption that this would mean I would be seen soon. While I was walking over the the chair, two other women walked in, one asking for a gel manicure and one asking for tips. They asked how long too, but they didnt get an answer either. After 15 minutes of sitting in the pedicure chair unattended, I asked again, HOW LONG? The woman next to me doing a pedicure yelled something down to her string of coworkers, and then just went back to her pedicure. Again, I was completely ignored. So then I asked her again, and she did the same thing, but this time she told me 10 minutes. After 35 minutes of sitting in the pedicure chair, I asked AGAIN and another person working there told me, probably 10 more minutes! The fact that I couldnt get an honest, upfront answer regarding how long I would have to wait for my services is the most rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful behavior I have ever experienced in a nail salon. JUST BE HONEST, and how about you answer your customers when they speak to you? I walked out of the salon and told the man who sat me in the chair that I was very disappointed with the treatment I received and the blatant disrespect. To add insult to injury, one of the women who came in after me to get tips done was being seen by the man who walked me over to the pedicure chair. Unbelievable! Id rather pay double somewhere else than experience such horrible service. NEVER AGAIN. STAY AWAY.
Ive been going to this nail salon for about a year and a half now and have had no problems! The ladies are always friendly and accommodating. I also love that they are very clean and use sanitized tools.
Great neighborhood spot. Been coming here for a couple years as I live in the area. Service is reliably friendly and services are good. Very reasonably priced. Free wifi and iPhone chargers at every station. Good massage chairs for pedicures.
I give the woman that did my nails 5 stars the supervisor was racist. I sat there and watch she treat another customer differently and we was paying for the same services. ..
My new go-to for mani/pedis in the East Village. Very clean inside and nicely decorated. Friendly staff and prices are reasonable considering the excellent service provided.
Beautiful and relaxing atmosphere, very clean and professional. I had an amazing experience here. We are visiting from Phillie and I have been to many places before. This place is cozy and we received great service.🌹
Great nail salon. The staff is friendly, the prices are good and the service is excellent!
Gel manicure started changing colors the day after I got them. Very upset with my manicure.
The staff was very friendly and I didnt feel rushed to make a choice about colours. Cady did an amazing job
Ellen is amazing, highly recommended. Very clean spa and awesome service every time
Good deals, nice people, very cautious/accommodating in the covid era!
3 weeks in and my mani pedi are perfect
The worst gel manicure I’ve ever gotten.
I find the people impolite . I got the feeling they treat the races differently.
Great service, quality and cleanliness, professional and friendly, I loved the place !!!
Very good here !!
My favorite in the neighborhood
Ok
Great spot!
Amazing service
