We went to see MJ at The Neil Simon Theater. Brown said the wings were good, Robinson had the calamari and chicken sandwich w fries. The calamari was rubbery, and grilled chicken was hard and dry. My nachos were horrible, the beef was mushy- no seasoning. I didnt understand how you can have Happy Hour drinks and not food. I wont be going back. Now the drinks he made was good.
Food was great. Drinks were good. Service started off very well but quickly trailed off a few minutes after we sat down. The first round of drinks came very quickly - within a few minutes. But....then we waited and waited. Nobody came back to take our order, another round of drinks, fill up water, etc.35 minutes after sitting down and about 10 minutes after Id finished my drink, we had to wave the waiter over to order our mains. We ordered and then when food came, wanted drinks 5 minutes before happy hour ended. However, the waiter told us it was too late...we looked at the time but he just walked away.We didnt see the waiter again until we got up to pay because the waiter was MIA.We were there for more than 1.5 hours and it was very quiet. There were about 3 or 4 other tables. We got no water refills the entire time and nobody checked on us after the food arrived. The place is great, the food is fantastic, the staff is friendly - when they remember you exist. They started off as 5 stars because the service was so good to begin with. Sadly it didnt continue.Great food but dont think Ill be back any time soon.
We stopped in to get some food before we headed to the Neil Simon Theater to see MJ. They had happy hour drinks but not food that I dont understand at all. The food wasnt great - the nachos werent good, grilled chicken was dry and hard, calamari was rubbery, but the wings were said to be good. Now, the mango margaritas he made was on point.
Stopped in to get away from the weekend crowds and found a great place to have a meal and drinks. A lot of restaurants tend to seat diners in the same area but this place actually kept the different parties as far apart as possible. They let us enjoy our drinks and meal and didn’t rush us out of there. It was wonderful way to decompress. Food was delicious and the staff was attentive.
Nice place.. nice vibe. Really liked the holiday decor and the holiday atmosphere. The restaurant was brimming with happy faces when we dined Friday evening.A wide range of cocktails to choose from - really enjoyed their cocktails.Food was average. Not too great. The quantity of food servings were very less. For the cost they charge us, they can certainly give more quantities. We explored both the nightclubs at around 10. Not any vibe as such. Hardly a handful of people - Just a few people dancing to themselves. May be it gets better later in the night.
The food and drinks were pretty good overall! I got the burritos, which were yummy! Not the best I’ve ever get had but pretty good. I also got the strawberry margarita which was frozen plain margarita mix with strawberry drink mix surrounding it. Not exactly what I had in mind but still good. My table got the guacamole to share and the chicken taquitos, which were probably the best parts. Service started out great but then got very slow. We waited at least half an hour for our waiter to come back to get our entree order and even then we had to flag him down. The restaurant was not busy whatsoever—there were only three tables seated when we wanted to order our entrees. Even after flagging him down, our waiter barely came to check on us. Finally, the restaurant was doing free professional pictures that they’d put on a postcard. That’s fine and fun, but the photographer kept asking to take so many different pictures that it was disruptive. Group shots, group shots in different poses, individuals, standing up group shots—it was really just too much for a dinner experience.
Excellent place for some appetizers and drinks when out late in NYC. The restaurant has the usual Mexican fare and the prices arent bad at all for the area. They make a good guacamole and an even better mojito. Service was good and they even have a dance club area upstairs if you like that sort of thing.
Call them to make your reservation first. Good service for a Friday night. A lot of empty tables on this Friday night but a nice atmosphere. The food was good. We started with Chips and Salsa which was $8. I ordered the Chicken fajita which was good. My son had the chicken quesadilla and the portions were small. Good service and a nice atmosphere. $120 for 3 of us to eat. Nice place to visit at least once.
Waiter was rude. Everything we wanted to order he kept saying they were out. After our food came he never showed up again to ask if we wanted more drinks or anything else. When we tried to pay he said he couldnt spilt the bill. Food was definitely not worth the price.
I love this place. The food is ok and depends on the day it gets super crowded. Great place to dance and have a good time. If you go to the bar upstairs, Florentino the bartender will take care of you. It’s sad to know they will be closing in May 2024, since the owners sold the building last month 😥
This is a great spot for dancing, and some drinks that are not margaritas because their margaritas are not the best, not flavor, watered down, too much mix. I would not recommend anyone to go here for food, the food was super bland, no seasoning, and not flavorful at all. We had the enchiladas and it tasted very bad. Also had the fried Ice cream that was NOT at all fried, just covered in the cornflakes not fried and it tasted bad also just regular icecream, false advertising. I paid for the 3 course meal and I would not recommend it. But the whole atmosphere is great, music was good, the staff is very nice, attentive, and courteous ! Pre-game before coming here and eat for sure before coming here.
We use to go here in the early 2000s cause they always played really great music. It was a millennial dream to go back and dance to some of the hip hop and dance hall that was popular at that time. We had a lot of fun; we haven’t danced like that in ages! Highly recommend
Unfortunately we did not have a pleasant experience at iguana’s. It is no surprise they are closing down next Thursday. We arrived at 9pm and did not receive our food till 11 pm. They did however, give us free shots for the waiting time, which we did appreciate. The food was ok, the drinks were pretty good.Disappointed to say the least.
I have only given a couple of Five stars. This place had good to more then good food. The drinks were correct and full of what you pay for while maintaining a great taste. The service was spot on, being attentive to the changes to the table while not being annoying. This would have deserved four stars, but the extra attention given by the staff pushed them over. Come for a good meal, bring people you want impress, bring families, bring a romantic prospect. Great place. Worth it.
My wife and I had dinner here. The atmosphere is really amazing. The food was good but definitely not worth the price. The waiter never came to the table after we were served. He was rude. He gave the table by us excellent service but ignored us. I don’t know if he thought we wouldn’t tip or we were poor or what. So I definitely didn’t tip. I am a manager of a restaurant. I even tip bad waitresses but not if you are bad on purpose.
My food was delicious however Ive been here over an hour and a half.. the last 30 minutes sitting here waiting for my check because no one is around. It took a hot minute to actually get somebody to come take my order but then the food came out fast. They arent busy.. theres two other tables besides me.. theres no excuse
Been going here for years even before Google and Yelp reviews. This time it was after a Broadway show and the other Mexican place we were eyeing was closed for a private event. I remembered tried and true Iguana and their awesome frozen margs. We had some yummy dishes as well and the staff are very friendly. All in all we left satisfied and slightly buzzed, so no complaints here.
Horrible customer service in the downstairs club… disorganized at the door, they had 3 lines and even let a drunk white lady in before everyone else. She did not have a ticket for the event and said “but I have money”, they let her cut the line. When I started to talk about how racist that was and is, that they let me in. A triangle bar with 3 bartenders but they neglected one of the sides for more then 30min. Could not find a Manager I was told his name is Carlos. The main establishments manager did not care. I will never return, and urge you to use precaution, if you go, and your judgment!
I was suprised to see some interesting things on this menu. I ordered chorizo taquitos and chalupitas stuffed with shrimp and crabmeat. As you can see taquitos and chalupitas look exactly the same. This place is rated $$ but if u ask me it is $$$. Every appetizer was $15 on average and each entree $25. The shrimp and crabmeat chalupitas were good. And so were the chorizo taquitos. Served HOT and flavorful. The restaurant is large and can be a bit noisy but to me all that means is that people are enjoying themselves. 😉
This place was cool. We went for a friends birthday party who had a reservation. Service was great, although the food was hit or miss. Half of the table received good quality food, while the other half got subpar food. Some peoples flan was perfect, but mine and others were mushy and not done well. My steak was also cooked rare (but I never specified how I wanted it cooked, so thats on me). So I told the waiter and he took my steak back, the kitchen heated it up, and then gave me back the same steak which was strange. I didnt really mind, but it was surprising. The steak tasted good after that. Waiters were on point with bringing over drinks, so props to them. Dance floor upstairs was also dope.
Well it was an evening in Iguana restaurant and bar and my friend ,She ordered wine with selmon and chocolate fudge ice cream as dessert 🍨 and we ordered lentil and cream soup along avocado 🥑 and shrimp salad . Food wasn’t good at all and we checked out the bar but nothing worth visiting it such a trash place.
Shady business practices, horrible food, horrendous service! Tourists beware! They were empty for dinner service but we blamed it on being the 4th of July. Despite no other diners except 3 women at the bar we had virtually no service. My daughter drank all 3 of our waters before we could find someone to refill and I had to hunt someone down for the ticket. My steak on my quesadilla tasted funny but I blamed the sour cream until I smelled it. Praying I don’t get sick! Daughter changed $29 for bean and rice burrito. $22 20% automatic gratuity on the ticket we didn’t catch and then the final copy asked for gratuity. It was already ran on our card so I’m going to dispute our credit card. To top it off my husband didn’t get his credit card back so we had to hunt someone down a THIRD TIME.
I went there a Latin dance event, so I havent tried the food. The vibe and atmosphere was amazing. A bit crowded but definitely enjoyed my time there. Came with a friend and we both had a great time. Thanks for being a host to a great event. 🙏
Food was perfectly cook, i love that they make you the guacamole right there in front of you. Jose luis our server was awesome, excellent service. Food took a little longer than expected. The only bad thing was going upstairs they wanted to charge us 20 for each person after spending almost $800 Dlrs . Then they wanted us to spend $50 dlrs or more for each person upstairs. Dj his music and mixes horrible . But the food and the service in the restaurant awesome!! I will definitely come back!!
We had an awesome time a couple of months ago. Drinks were really good. Food was good, and a bit pricey -probably the area. Service was amazing. Oscar was super nice and attentive.
5-stars for Vince Giordano. Iguana is VERY, VERY cool. One of the most visually awesome bars, physically, Ive ever seen. Service is pretty bad, to be honest. Dont expect to be waited on hand and foot. However, we really love the food and the atmosphere. Drinks are on-point too according to my wife. If youre there you have to get margaritas! But, theyre not for me. Scotch guy ;).If youre going for Vince, well youve made a hell-of-a choice. His band NEVER disappoints. They are absolutely incredible. Big-band tunes from the 20s, 30s, and 40s. They are worth every penny and this is their home. GO SEE THEM. Mondays and Tuesdays right here at the Iguana.
This restaurant is closed...supposedly for renovations! I had a reservation for Wednesday night, 5/1/24 at 6 PM. We got there and there were signs on the doors saying that they were Closed for Renovations!
I loved every movement of being in the restaurant. Music excites you. Staff are warm and friendly. Bartender is very knowledgeable of drinks. I wanted strong but sweet and thats what I got. There is a club atmosphere down stairs. The BEST part is the waiter in the back. Oscar and (I forget at the moment). But their services makes you feel like eating with friends and family. Wonderful place.
The place was average it has a nice interior for this time of the season, the service was good the bartender was paying so much attention to us maybe bc we are not regulars so she focuses more in the group of people, I had to make eye contact so she should know I was ready for food or for a drink, she made good margaritas for my friend and the negra modelo on tap was good, we got steak quesadillas the came fast and they were good, I’ll come back again maybe the service can be improved a little bit more but good place.
Came at 1:30pm on a Saturday and we were one of three people eating at the time. Halloween weekend celebrators we’re up until 6 am last night. Got right in. Excellent and quick service. Food was amazing! Ordered 4 things off appetizer menu and everything was delicious and fresh. Would definitely come back. A few blocks walk from Times Square, but definitely worth the walk. Try the avacado fries! Dip them in chili con queso. Wow!!
The atmosphere, drinks, and dance lounge upstairs was amazing, but unfortunately the food was not the best. Very overpriced and bland. The only thing we truly enjoyed was the guacamole and the margaritas. They were delicious. Service itself was great and our waiter was so sweet and really made the experience turn around despite the poor food. He deserved 5 stars. Overall would definitely come back to dance and get drinks, but would probably grab food before hand somewhere else
Music was good (bachata, salsa reggaeton). Good crowd, staff was friendly and helpful.Would definitely go again.
The food was okay but our waiter was horrible. We were in a party of 6 in which automatically has a 20% tip added to ticket. My husband and I were celebrating our 21st wedding anniversary and took our family out. We ended up spending over $300 on a dinner we did not enjoy at all. We had to wave our waiter down to order our drinks, then same for appetizers then again for entrees. Any time we needed anything we had to get someone to get him and we were 1 of 2 maybe 3 tables for the restaurant. I would have given a lower score had the manager not took off the automatic tip.
There are much better options in the area. My daughter and I dropped by this place a couple of weeks ago for dinner. The service was below average. Food quality was about average. But the price was much too high for the quality of the food. To top it all off, these people add a 3% processing fee to your bill. Since there were only two people in our party, Im assuming this is added to all bills. Dont bother trying this place out. Youre likely to be underwhelmed.
One of the best thing in a Restaurant is a Customer service. This place has the best waiter (José Luis) in town from whom we received friendly and respectful service, with full knowledge of the menu, he made us feel comfortable and our trip. I recommend this place and especially the service and attention of José Luis.
Great place! I really enjoy the dancing upstairs and the food is good, but the two thing that are top-notch at Iguana are the drinks and the service! They have some of the best margaritas I’ve ever had, and the waiters really go out of their way to be friendly and serve you quickly. The whole place also has a very chill vibe which I love!
They played latin music all night which I loved. The food was good but it took too long, we had to chase the waiter so they could take our order. Drinks were kinda pricey tho
We visited here on July 13 and our entire party got the worst food poisoning of our lives. We each ordered individual plates so it must have been the salsa for the table to share. I see that horrible food and service isn’t a new thing for this business. Will be repeating this story for many years come - stay away from this place.
Simply aweful.... Food is awful and beans tase canned... Not real Mexican or even TexMex.. just a bad impersonation. Cocktails watery. Chips salty. Salsa also poor.
Pretty fun, a bit high price to pay for a dance floor and extra for item checks. Need some circulating air upstairs. Security should usher the creepy staring guys somewhere else, like to the bar downstairs.
First off if your going to come here, please have a quick bite before because the wait for food is horrible. The waiter is rude! I asked for a side and told me oh that’s extra rudely. I didn’t ask if it was extra, I asked if I was able to add on to my order ( I said never mind). My table was given appetizers and waited another 20 minutes for food. When we asked if our food was done, the waiter replied “oh in back of you, hold on”. Mind you there was no one with food behind us at all. I think this place needs to recheck the hire because the rudeness our table has gotten was so disgusting and the fact we were here for a birthday just makes it’s worse. Then we head downstairs and got into an altercation with the female worker because she wanted to charge the door fee when we were already upstairs eating. She even argued with the security after he was trying to avoid problems and let us in. NEVER COMING BACK AGAIN. I hope everyone reads this before you come and knows what your about to embark on when entering those doors!
The food is good, but a bit pricey. The service was excellent. The club was good too, not too crowded, just right.
Food was delicious. Took some time to arrive but our party was pretty big. Music was good but not too loud. Service was attentive and expeditious.
I was looking for a late night restaurant to eat after work; even got a suggestion from a friend about how good the food is. We got there at 10:50, hostess gave us a table and told us that they were going to close at 12:00 ( even tho on google says they close at 1am ) we agreed and said its fine we were going to be quick ordering food, after waiting for at least 15 minutes, we decided to leave since no one approached us. At least 3 servers looked at us and it was clear they didnt want to help. Horrible how a place like this have such unfriendly people as staff.
A little pricey but excellent service and great menu. Dance floors on two levels! DJ was amazing and the salseros are there and ready to cut up!! Visited from Chicago and had a blast! $20 cash for club upstairs for Latin nights and $4 cash coat check. A must-visit if you enjoy Latin food and music.
This is a hidden Gem on 54th. The food is fresh and delicious, the atmosphere is great (especially if youre coming late enough for the dance club) and the drinks are generous. Carlos and Juan manage this place and you couldnt have two better guys to take care of you. Do yourself a favor and order the guacamole so it can be prepared fresh table-side for you! We visit here every time we are in Manhattan and love it every time.
We were thankful that they accommodated us before they officially opened, but we had to wait too long for our food. I wish they’d given us a heads up on how long it will take so we could’ve chosen to go somewhere else. The food was just ok. It’s decent but overpriced. Their chicken tacos costs $29! Won’t be back here.
We have been there to just drink a beer, not to eat. But the dishes served to other guests looked delicious. Service was very friendly.
Terrible experience for a Saturday night. Spent $150 on mediocre food and drinks. Decided to go to the other 2 floors for dancing and music. Floors were empty at 12am, they wanted to charge $20 even though we just spent $150 there. The manager Carlos is RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL. He said $150 is nothing and we need to pay a $20 cover to enter the not lively “club.” He would not allow us in. I would NOT recommended this place. Food, drinks, management and vibe is WACK and TERRIBLE.
Good environment. We went to celebrate birthday party and I enjoyed the layout and the concepts the bars and dancing areas. Good music and a good time. That said, I find that the food is insanely over priced for someone who likes value for their money I dont think Ill come back for the food. This may also have been an isolated incident but out party was there until closing time up until they were still selling drinks but when closing time came the security guard was pushing all the patrons to finish their drinks so that he could go home. That was kind of a bummer but I wouldnt judge this place by the actions of the one security guard.
Had a table booked today and Food was decent but the service was awful! We never got offered a top up of water, or even drinks. The waiters had no interest in us at all, it felt like we were doing them a favour trying to get service from them, when I asked for a desert menu was given the bill…Sorry but this doesn’t deserve your money and no tip was left, refuse to leave a tip when the attitude and service was that poor.
For those of you expecting it to be packed on a Friday and Saturday night like how it was years ago don’t bother coming here. You’ll find more action at a cemetery, and they charge $20 for cover, even more reason to stay away.
I couldn’t even enter the premises because I was wearing sweat pants. However- the bouncer or security was ever so kind to let me know that- if I pay him $40 as a tax- he would let me in. On principle I just had to walk away. That was beyond disrespectful and begs the question of - what kind of business is this really. And no- it was not a joke. He insisted it’s worth the price and the night is great once you’re inside.
Dinner was delicious and drinks were fine. D J sense of timing from one song to another was not all that, however, selection of music was good. I could not wrap my head around having to pay a additional $10 cover charge to dance after we just spend $500 plus tip on dinner for 6 persons and never mind what we spend on drinks before deciding to stay to dance. The only reason I stay was because of the Birthday person. I don’t know about anyone else but I will not be going back.
On 1/14/23 I took my niece here for her 18th birthday. The food wasn’t bad good drinks but horrible service. I feel that the woman (waitress) that was standing by our table was very rude. The crowd we came in with she happened to be staring at one of our guest and it wasn’t until I caught her eyes and she felt me staring at her is when she changed her direction. No one came to our table until a gentleman approached her and what seemed to be him asking about our table she began to shake her head. I don’t appreciate how uncomfortable she made us feel and for that I will never go there again. We don’t appreciate the judgement we’re in 2023 there’s no reason a person from the LGBTQ community should feel uncomfortable or discriminated anywhere they go or be refused service, if that is the case remove yourself and respect the customer not stare them down.
Honestly I was expecting better. Waitress was rude. Looked at us weird when when we asked questions. Food was overpriced for the quality of it. Rice was hard. I asked for maduros and they were not ripe. My husband asked for sweet potato fries got regular ones. My kids are normally big time eaters and did not like the taste of the food. I normally don’t post bad reviews but this place is not worth it. Will not be back.
This place is closed. Made reservations on Open Table, got a confirmation and showed up and it’s been closed for at least a month.
Honestly worst dining experience I’ve ever had in nyc. Made a reservation two weeks ago for cinco de Mayo and ended up having to wait over 20 mins to sit. We then waited another 45 mins for our waiter to even take our drink order and he refused to take our dinner orders at the same time. Then after we got our first round of drinks it took an hour for our waiter to return and take our dinner order. This whole “experience” took over 3 hours and we ended up leaving when our food got to our table because it was absolutely ridiculous. Do not recommend, save your money!
Please get people with a better attitude. Melisa, who was a bartender, needed to get fired as soon as possible. Her service is one of the worst I have got in this life. She doesn’t know how to serve as a customer service person. Her rudeness is one of the worst I have seen. I asked for a drink and served everyone, even my friend, and left me out. I didn’t get served after all. I ended up talking to the owner of the place. To me, she is really rude and she ignores customers when they’re speaking to her. I have been here before and have never experienced anything like this major before. I don’t know if I will be back !!
I work in the service industry. I was excited to go to a restaurant considering I hardly ever go because Im working these night shifts. However, my table was never greeted after sitting for 15 mins. We felt that we were not welcome after the hostess who sat us informed us that the kitchen was closing in an hour and not at 1 am like the google info listed, which is one of the reasons I chose this location because I didnt want eat in the last hour of operation. We made eye contact with three different employees who refused to approach us to ask if maybe we wanted water. We considered asking the hostess if she could send our server, but decided to leave instead because she was nowhere to be seen. Overall, disappointing.
If you’re traveling, please do not think this is real Tex-Mex. Real Texan here. Their food is like Tex-Mex ordered from Temu.
They charge $20 for each dance floor access. Cash only, even if its super late at night and dead inside their dance spaces. Could never be me paying for that smh!
It was my cousins bday and she wanted to have dinner so we went to iguana. It took them an hour to take our order and mind you it had less than ten ppl in the establishment. They recommended shots that was $12 a person and it was 4 of us. When we try ordering, most of the food choices was either nonexistent or we cannot substitute. We had salsa and chip and the salsa was just enough for 1 person. The service and food was terrible. After paying the bill which was approximately $300 we proceeded to go dwn stairs to the party area, and was ask to pay $25 per person and the dance floor was completely empty. So we decided to leave and was approached by our server saying that we did not tip him. At this point we was done with Iguana never will I go back there or recommended to anyone
Amazing food and drink from start to finish! Great atmosphere and music, and friendly staff too. Their Mojitos are some of the best Ive have. The salsa with chips while you wait if so fresh and tasty. We had the burrito and the half chicken and both were cooked to perfection (the chicken is cooked fresh so will take a while.....maybe not one to order if you are in a rush)
Nov. 25 there was a Latin night upstairs & R&B downstairs. The woman who was doing security for upstairs section made myself & the two woman I entered with extremely uncomfortable. She aggressively checked the 3 of us & finish my frisk by taking a handful of my property out from my pocket. Basically crushed my wallet & glasses. I let it goBut after watching me for 10 minutes & waiting till the women got up to dance, security came over & asking if I was smoking something because she could smell something. Im 15 ft from the security podium, I think you would see meFelt harassed, maybe they just wanted us to stick to the R&B floorPositive: drinks were strong
Service was on point ✨️ we split a chicken quesadilla and it was absolutely perfect. Hubby had the house wine which was decilious and i had a mixed drink from their menu. Would deff recommend and we will be back.
The only positives for me were the nice decor and location convenient to certain theaters. I would say that its OK for drinks, chips, and guacamole, but to avoid the food. The main dishes have fine-dining prices but are diner quality at best. The bathrooms are upstairs in a noisy dance club and you can easily see into the stalls from the hallway.
This is a great restaurant! They have a great menu with a ton of unique options, I love when a restaurant has numerous things I want to try. We went with the coconut shrimp and the avocado shrimp, both of which were delicious! A table near us got the tableside guacamole, which looked incredible. I also loved the art inside, which was very fun and served as a conversation starter! There was a ton of space inside and outside for seating, as well as at the bar! The reason I gave four stars instead of five is because the service was very slow and not engaging. That kept us from ordering more food and drinks since we had limited access to someone to place the orders! Overall, great spot and maybe the service is better sometimes than others.
I have been here a few times prior to the pandemic over the years. I remember this restaurant as a good fun time. The service was attentive until it was almost time to go.The appetizer of coconut shrimp and calamari was very good. So were the crab cakes. The Guacamole was lacking. We asked for it to be spicy. It just lacked everything. My drinks were ok.The main entrees were good. I had the shrimp which was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The reason for 3* is the service at the end was neglectful. We asked for cake to sing happy birthday for one of my guests. I had to ask 4x before it was finally done. Also I just dont think the food and drinks are worth the cost. My rating is more like 3.50*.
The frozen margaritas, food and salsa on the table and salsa on the dance floor are reasons to go by themselves. Here al three are top shelf.
Update: My 2019 experiences werent as great, unfortunately - I decided to organize a few events there, and while management was nice, they were disorganized+ -- their a/c broke 2 days before our event in July, wasnt fixed, and they didnt solve the problem or tell us ahead of time?!? Another time, we negotiated for a dance instructor and DJ -- the DJ didnt show, and the dance lesson started an hour late. Also, the food became flavorless. Its convenient, ok for tourists - great atmosphere, but the rest... meh. 2018 5 stars => 2019 & 2020 3 stars======2018I came with a group of 15 people, and we loved the free dance lesson (Carmen, the instructor was great, and shes adorable). Of course, we also enjoyed the happy hour, appetizers, and the dancing afterwards. A great evening, whether early or late!
The waiter was so nice. But he brought me a plate of cold food and a drink that didnt taste very well. I was confused. The restaurant was in the upscale theater district. But the toilets didnt flush properly in the ladies bathroom.
Came here to check out the music floor. We were told to go upstairs and as we went up the guy there told us it was 20$ per person (we were all girls) so prior to going we checked and their website said ladies were free that day apparently but he denied it. We showed himAnd he insisted we had to pay with such careless attitude. We went back downstairs and someone else’s approached us so we told him what just happened and he said you can go downstairs for free. Apparently the low level had a hip hop dance/music room. We went to check it out and it was horrible. Absolutely the worst! We left. Never coming back! If you want to charge that’s fine but don’t lie on your website about it.
The food was alright, but the service was especially slow and I didnt really feel all that cared for. We got our appetizers after the couple next to ya, who had arrived after we had, was finishing up their desserts. We had to flag down several other servers to get drinks or refills on chips since it took about a full hour and a half to see our appetizers. The food itself was fine, nothing spectacular. I wouldnt eat here again. I just enjoy the dancing upstairs. Even then, though, the doorman was especially rude and aggressive. Normally, I wouldnt mind but he almost forced us to check our coats only to use the restroom. He did so twice. Honestly, its not even worth it. I probably wouldnt come back.
Went there for dinner and salsa on a Friday night. The food was pretty good, the service was phenomenal. However, the music upstairs (where is supposed to be Latin mix of salsa, bachata music and other) was so loud it hurt to be on the dance floor. Also the choice of music wasn’t good for dancing and there were only few people on the dance floor. It was also impossible to talk, due to loud music.I recommend it for food, but not for salsa.
Very unorganized place. Was brought to someone elses table. Then, had to wait for another table to be prepared. Took forever for them to even ask is if we wanted to order drinks. Drink waiter was ok. Food waiter was very nice & on point. Food was ok. Weird menu. U need to PAY (females as well) to walk down or up 10 steps to DJ sections! Not 1 person was downstairs, and we were a party of 12 who were not going to pay that. They lost a good few hundred by not letting us in, to dance & buy alot more drinks. Wouldnt return..
It was pretty good, met an old friend there in town for a meeting. We had some apps, and then I had a chicken fajita, he had a steak. Had a couple of mule cocktails. Waiter was friendly. My friend paid the bill, so I cant speak to the prices. All in all, nothing to write home about. Went to the downstairs dance area to use the mens room and it smelled like a musty basement in the dance area. Close to a parking deck, so easy parking. New Courtyard by Marriott hotel just across the street too, so this is convenient to that, and probably a lot better prices than dining in.
I went here for a birthday party. We were down in the lower level. The drinks were good. The restaurant says is has a dress code but it wasnt really enforced. They have a coat check. $3/item. $15 cover charge after 9pm. Id probably go again. For dancing and drinks, their food menu looked too overpriced.
They have a $20 charge to go inside the club and they overcharged $12 per corona beer. Too expensive for a mediocre club. Would not recommended.
Great food and great prices. Not packed midweek, even for a larger group of people. Salsa dancing on the third floor is a nice addition for people that like to dance after a few drinks and great dinner. Fast attentive service. Went here only once with a group of 7+, very positive experience.
Although we thought this restaurant was accommodating, we were severely disappointed with the service and the environment. First off , they were incredibly inconsiderate of our vegetarian accommodations. They made it super complicated to order vegetarian dishes & gave us run around answers about why they were able to accommodate our party and stated “our dishes are pre-made so we can’t change it.” We ended up ordering appetizers and left. Our drinks arrived as we were paying the check. We were a party of 8 and they were unable to cater to our needs. Very dissappiointed.
Perhaps they were just low staffed the night we went, so maybe thats something to keep in mind as you read my review, but heres my experience with the service: it took a very long time for a waiter to come to us. Several of us had to repeat our order several times before the waiter understood it. After a very long time, our food and drinks finally came out, and several of them were wrong. He seemed kind of irritated at us, and then laughed at the request to split checks..The food was good with the exception of the pastel from the appetizer menu. Most of it was greens! The quesadilla mexicana was a big yes for us though. They have a long list of flavors that you can get in a mojito or margarita. I got a green apple mojito but I have to say I didnt really taste much of the apple.
Had a reservation only to be told on arrival they only accommodate a group of more than 16 by setting them up in two different tables and not combining. Felt they could have but perhaps our groups’ color made them unwilling? Why did they not tell us at the time of the reservation for 18 people this vital information? The place was not packed for a Friday night...Had to constantly flag them down to take drink orders (I don’t drink but my colleagues were not happy). It felt like we were a chore for them even though our bill was about $1250. Do not recommend the avocado fries 5 pieces of avocado (basically 1 avocado) deep fried for $15?! I ordered fish tacos and there were pieces of other meat in it. I am a pescatarian so I was very unhappy with this. None of our party will be returning. Needed to write this review for myself to note never to return.
DO NOT GO!!!! HORRIBLE Experience. I literally just left on 12/4/2021 at 7:28 pm. My family and I really wanted to like this place. We are so disgusted. The food took so long to come. We ordered drinks, those came right away, our appetizers took a little time but they came and at that point we were still rooting for Iguanas and were excited to think of who we could bring to this restaurant. Then we waited for our food to come for over an hour and a half. The food was not hot!!!!! On top of this, the worst thing was that the Manager would not come over to us to discuss it. I have not ever been to a restaurant where the Manager refused to come over and instead kept sending the waiter over with excuses. We kept telling the waiter it was not a reflection of him but we were very dissatisfied with how we were being treated. We were Disrespectfully treated because we have never been to a restaurant where a manager refused to come over and kept with excuses. Our bill was $172 so we spent money!! We ordered, 3 alcoholic beverages, two appetizers and three entrees. These restaurants want to get business back post covid but you better be able to handle the crowd and definitely respect your customers by coming over if there is a problem and YOU ARE THE MANAGER.
I had an awful experience at this place. First of all, staff is super unprofessional, the drinks are overpriced and you have to ask for prices because is not in the menu which could be anything the bartender want to say ($18-$20 dollars for a tiny cup full of ice that looks like children birthday cup), the security is not well trained as he approached me and my girlfriend asking her for her ID twice and when we asked why he is checking again (he already did it when we went upstairs to the second floor) he stayed quite and did not give us a response. When my girlfriend asked again, he still not responding until she asked to speak to the manager and he send her to the bathroom, really!! When we got to talk to the manager he said to us that he confused her for someone else from couple of days before!! really! you do not see this kind of event in a quality service spot. the bartender was super rude as I didnt order drink for myself (I dont drink) but only for my girl hoping we were going to consume and spend money. In conclusion, I highly recommend not going to this place if you want a quality service and you know what quality is for your money as security is unprofessional, drink are overpriced and manager doesnt know how to handle complaints and service customers. This is a SCAM! when it come for your money, you better go to a 5 start hotel bar or rooftop for drinks and music and still not reach the prices of this place. Unbelievable, never again....
Drinks at the club are strong and costly. The restaurant closes at 12 but the Club is open till later, they used to play completely different music on the two levels but now I heard a lot of hip-hop in both. Service in the restaurant is outstanding the food though is mediocre and the menu is pretty limited.
We made a reservation in advance, so Im not sure if that would be necessary, but probably advisable; we arrived around 5:30 on a Wednesday and there were available tables, but tables started to fill up as we received our appetizers. The service was fast, and our servers were very attentive. Our food came quickly and was all incredible, especially for the price! Our water was never more than half empty and someone was always nearby to fill it, which was much appreciated. Dessert was fantastic as well and there were several options. I also loved the atmosphere. I will definitely dine here again in the future and strongly recommend it to others.
Maybe I’m just unlucky. Really bad service, fancy drinks were not great and the food was ok. I ordered Tacos, but when they came out, they looked more like 2 Burritos on flour tortillas. The taste was ok, nothing to wow the taste buds. The service was not that great, the waiter didn’t even bring out chips, until I asked for them 15 min after he took our order. The kicker, I could had just walked out without paying and they would had not notice until it was too late. I waited nearly 40 min, to pay the bill. In good old NY hospitality, no apologies.
Food and service was outstanding. We got the guacamole and that was all of our favorites. It’s very convenient if you’re seeing a show afterwards too.
Recently stopped by on a Sunday and it was empty which was great, all staff were wearing masks & they had hand sanitizer available as well... Only had a few drinks so cant speak to the food however Sunshine was an awesome bartender. Its been so long since Ive sat somewhere for a few drinks & it was nice to feel comfortable & safe enough to do so...
My colleagues and I had a really good time there. The atmosphere is really nice. The Spanish music floor is really good if thats your thing. It does get crowded though. Drinks are OK, and cheap. Maybe next time Ill try the restaurant side to see how the menu goes.
Drinks are a little overpriced. Bartenders sometimes doesnt get your order correct. Security at the door can be very rude. Had a good time at the upstairs club. 20.00 fee is okay compare to what other places charge.
A dark, cozy atmosphere. Exposed brick walls and (fake) candle lit tables. Everything is very inviting and friendly. Service is ok, nothing spectacular. We came for a lunch on a Saturday and it was not crowded at all. Food was tasty, I ordered the fillet mignon that was a little over cooked for what I ordered (medium rare). Overall not the best nor the worst experience.Edit after meal: I understand adding a gratuity to a bill of a party of 8. I dont agree with it being 20%, especially if the service was lack luster. For this a 3rd star will be removed.
Currently at Iguana restaurant and i must say. This place is Excellent. Food was beyond expectations, the drinks were above expectations and the bartender on the day shift today Tuesday January 17th is by. Far the BEST. Come check them out today, you will not be disappointed
Very nice spot I am have frequent a couple times for happy hour and just a bit of exploration. Very nice atmosphere, and good service. It has 3 floors and seem like a nice place to bring a friend and chill out if in the area. Drink prices are decent, but the drinks didnt pack a punch as how I though they would, or maybe its the drink I had. The best feature of the place is the overall atmosphere and cool name. The food is pretty okay too.Live Life Unscripted...
The jazz and food here were excellent. I was surprised at how good both were actually. Well worth the table fee and the food is reasonably priced. There are about 12 members of the jazz band and it was all live and really enjoyable. Highly recommended
Restaurant:• Great fresh guacamole.• Great happy hour margaritas specials before 7pm.• If you order an entree, you can show the receipt for the upstairs club for free entrance if you’re a guy.• You can spend $100 on drinks at the bar/restaurant and they still won’t let you in for free upstairs if there isn’t an entree on the bill. This totally sucks and they can get pretty stinky about it. Terrible policy. 👎Upstairs club: 👍👍👍• Friendly bartenders.• Great mixed music.• Definitely a great place to come and dance. 💃🏼• You can order bar food but the happy hour only applies downstairs at the restaurant/bar.• Mixed crowd and you get some tourist in because of the area.• Party ends at 3am but the first floor bar and lower lever club closes at 4am.Lower lever club: 👎👎👎• If you’re just looking for hip hop music, this is for you.• Totally different crowd than upstairs. More of a younger but ghetto crowd.• I’ve heard of girls getting harassed and having to come upstairs to feel safer.
Ive been to the dance floor. Most of the time the music is good. The floor needs a lot of improvement. It is worn and uneven in some areas wich creates difficulties and even danger for dancers. That issue also reduce the dance area as dancers try to avoid those spots.
My family has enjoyed this establishment for a long time, and we love them as much as they love us!
Good food and good environment. But I REALLY feel they were rushing us so much to eat. They brought the birthday cake only 3 minutes after we started eating the main meal. As soon as as they remove the plates they got me the check right away like its time to go while there were some many empty tables. I dont like that.
Worst experience I ever had in any restaurant. My family and I are from Maryland and we decided to go celebrate a members birthday at NY and pick this restaurant to eat. We made a reservation and in the line before getting inside the security guy was checking for IDs. Everyone was 21+ except the birthday boy who is 20 years old. Once security checked our IDs he told us to move to the side. We were waiting for more than 15 minutes before we left because security kept on checking IDs while we were waiting and they had a long line. We were so upset because we were waiting for no reason. We call the restaurant and the manager restated their own policy which we would have been able to eat there. No solution was given to us but to go back and manager will let us in. My family and I did not go back because we felt discriminated and service was denied to us. Absolutely, disgusted by how we were treated.Don’t go there; security guys are nasty and very unprofessional the way they treat their guests.
Drinks are delicious! I hadMargaritas, a variety of flavors. Passion fruit was the best. Guacamole was delicious! Latin dance floor is a lot of fun. The other dance floor is fun too, not as busy. So that can be good or bad depending on your preference. Didnt try any other foods. Was there for the dancing
I had high expectations but very disappointed. The server was not attentive. We ordered guacamole and chips as an appetizer. The appetizer was served quickly … with awesome Guacamole made at the table. However the chips were stale and not restaurant made. The server did not come come back to take our dinner order. The worse service I’ve ever experienced. The restaurant is also dirty. Don’t go there.
Great place to dance to a good variety of music. A bit small, mixed age groups which is nice. There is coat check Fri/Sats. Latin music on 2fl, Mix of English music on Lower level floor. Fun place to visit and ladies are free all night.
Got pushed around by their female bouncer for absolutely no reason. This was after a fairly average yet expensive dinner gathering with friends. When I asked why I was pushed, she goes you’re done and we’re gonna throw you out of the club. Luckily, Santos was called to the scene and being part of the security team, he apologized for her behavior but we voluntarily left the place because there is no place for bullying in this society, no matter who it is. She kept talking over us and wouldn’t let anyone understand the situation(a defense mechanism I presume). Yes it ruined our night for a little bit but at least we didn’t get bullied by someone that simply chose to push me around because she felt like it. Will talk to owner tomorrow and update everyone based on our conversation.
Delicious, quick, comfy, atmospheric, and very kind staff. Right across from our hotel, was worth the price. The portions are generous with deliciously perfectly cooked steak. Thanks for a great time! Juan was wonderful and timely
Great dance space - lots of room, fun music, and a wonderful atmosphere. Bring at least $24 in cash with you (20 to get in and 4 for the mandatory coat check)
Had an amazing time at this restaurant. The music, food and environment is excellent 👍
Terrible customer service by the manager : Andres Hernandez. Their registers are ass backwards. You have to close your tab at one bar before you can use it at another bar. Bring cash if you plan on paying a cover for both floors. Owner is not present when requested, so the next best option is the terrible manager with poor customer service/ hospitality skills. Their speakers and DJ SOUND SYSTEMS downstairs are terrible quality/ worn out/ old. If the owner cares about his customer reviews, It would be appreciated if he contacted me personally.Update during the same night: the manager comes up to me calling me out on the review I wrote above acting like a tough guy. Please dont try to act tough with a patron of the establishment. Andres is hurting the business. Can the owner please respond back to this review. He needs to have people better versed in hospitality and customer service in the restaurant/ bar/ club business. The upstairs management is much better at taking care of your needs.
Sometimes good, sometimes great, sometimes this place sucks. The last time I was here, it was a mix of all three. The night didnt start out well, with apparently an insult from myself being delivered to the hostess. I was joking with my friend and I think she overheard it and misconstrued it as an attack on herself as she gave me a funny look. They threatened to kick us out, in spite of us hardly having drank anything (I didnt even half half of a drink) and we were there part of a much larger dancers group. Typically about 20-25 of us come and put on a bit of a show here at times in lieu of discounted food/drinks. This past event though has really stopped us from running these functions here anymore. The bouncers and management come across as extremely terse and rude.Come here and just drink/dance. Dont do business with them as more drama will just ensue.
Benn there quite a lot for some dance nights. It hosts some quality events. Didnt eat there yet, but guess its fine. Booze is above average to good, people I dealt with were nice. Take A chance and have fun.
Food was great. However, if I could, Id give them 0.5 stars. It took the service 20 minutes to set our table as we watched them set empty tables around us. The waiter finally came out after 40 minutes and tried taking our orders without letting us look at the menu. Then multiple servers returned several times to take our orders over and over again. Claimed they were just checking. Took them an hour to fulfill a drink order after the waiter took it twice. Continuously gave my friend the wrong Salad... just appalling. We came to the conclusion the waiter must have been drunk, on pills, something. This place isnt cheap and its upsetting. Maybe theyre used to a drunk crowd who wouldnt pay this service any mind. Ridiculous. No excuse.
Went there for drinks on back to back days. The first day had a five star rating. Drinks were strong and top notch. We raved to the server about how strong they were. The second day gets a three star rating -- drinks were watered down. No idea how the food is, but I was really disappointed that the drinks were not consistent.
I truly dislike giving low ratings to restaurants (having been in the restaurant business myself) but I was truly disappointed. Our server was not that great, we had to wait a while for her to get our drinks (they had 4/5 tables max), when we asked for our check we had to ask 3x. The food was bland, and left us waiting more flavor. I will say the drinks were well mixed. Overall, not worth the price, better off finding a different location.
The service was terrible! I LOVE margaritas but couldn’t even drink these 11.00 monstrosities. Basically I paid 95.00 for a horrible experience! I paid and left without even getting my dessert. This place is also very biased, some customers who came in after us were treated way better and also got their food quicker then ours. Don’t come here, it’s over priced, has bad service, and is biased to people.
Had a great salad -Avocado Relleno. Shrimp were done perfectly. Good flavor! My husband loved his corn chowder. Great service.
The food was delicious, and the dance floors were very nicely protected which I liked. The food can be some what pricey but the portions are fair. If it is only two people I would recommend the Iguana Nachos and a main dish if you want to leave space for alcoholic beverages. Trust me the food portions are fair to make you full.
Was at a private office Christmas party. The food was cold, otherwise it may have been good. The appetizers were better than the food. We used the house dj and he got better as the night wore on. Even so, I had a great time. Dont let external things affect your fun. You make your own party wherever you are!
Superb Fiesta atmosphere every visit. Wonderful food, great fun servers, excellent, honest drinks and mariachis. The bar, too, is superb. The very best, fun, too noisy Mexican in mid-town and maybe the world. Super table-side prepared guacamole to your taste and mountainous nachos, too.
I am a very big fan of the decor. The artwork on the walls is very nice, and the ambiance is magnificent. Personally I found the lighting a bit dark; then again, Im very used to much brighter lighting at work and home. The drinks are also delicious, especially their Whiskey Sours (which is one of my preferred drinks of choice). I didnt have a chance to sample their food, but I cant imagine anyone could go there and not be dissatisfied, especially if theyre in the mood for Mexican. Im also a big fan of the location; its close to several subways, as well as Times Square. I can meet a few friends for dinner and drinks here, then head downtown to take in the sights.
Great experience we had to wait a little bit for the table even though we made a reservation but it all worked out .the food was good !the appetizers were amazing. We all went to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday they had mariachi that song happy birthday for her...and upstairs in the restaurant they had a nightclub which was also really good Great place to have some fun... at all times we felt very safe. Definitely recommend the spot all in one food, drinks and dancing.
We went to the restaurant for a late dinner and while the food was ok. The atmosphere was not, they had extremely loud music coming from both the upstairs and downstairs. The music from both the upstairs and downstairs clashed and made it an extremely unpleasant atmosphere. We literally ate and ran. Most of the food was good but the steak in. fajitas were tough. The rest of the food was good with tacos and guacamole freshly made at the table.
I visited Iguana today, 10/07/20, and I am truly not impressed. The service in this place is fantastic. The waiters are great, but the increase in price for what used to cost $16, now they are charging $26 for a standard taco. This is outrageous. They are working on what appears to be a modified menu, but I truly left unsatisfied. Also, I was only a party of 2 and they have never charged a 20% tip, I have visited this place numerous times in the past, but after this experience, I will not be returning. It’s sad because it was my favorite midtown Mexican place.
While I have been here years ago, I went last night with a large party and to say I had a negative experience would have been a vast understatement. Servers were slow to take drink orders, and even slower to deliver; requested the bill be split up, told okay only to not only have it be for the full table but to be charged for items never received even though they were ordered, to be double charged for items as well. and when dealing with the management having the worst customer service experience. They were arrogant, rude, neglected to address the concerns or issues being addressed to them, and did nothing to alleviate the situation. Based on the service and treatment I will not be recommending nor returning to this location.
Omg wow!! I just absolutely loved this place the food is delicious and fresh. The atmosphere and decor is beautiful. The prices are a bit high, but it is expected in that neck of the woods. Definitely worth a pretty penny. The club is also great, the music and crowd is fun and pumped. After dinner we danced all night! Definitely a place I would visit again.
I ate here in October and we sat outside because I had brought my dog with me. They were nice enough to even bring him a plate and allow him to sit on the chair as well. My dog is trained well and they even allowed him to take a walk around inside whilst I went to use the restroom. Very accomodating people and would come back if the food was good. On the other hand the drinks arent bad at all. Come by if youre walking around town and need a place to rest and rehydrate. Very nice service people and tasty drinks.
They add an automatic 20% tip to your bill even if you are just a party of 2. It’s ridiculous. Also, you don’t have one waiter the whole time, you have several. Don’t recommend.
I really wish i could give this place negative 5 stars . I come into the bar sit next to strangers, end up talking to them because you know . New york friendly people, by the time i ask for my bill, the bartender hits me with a 233 dollar bill, when i only had one drink . Do you know this man puts my drink on a tab with strangers i just meet today, only spoken to for maybe 30 min. (profiling 101)!!! I know you’re probably reading this saying oh thats an easy fix , have him redo the checks over . No this man refused ! Even called the police, because he said we are refusing to pay. No sir im refusing to have my tab on theirs (the larger the bill the larger the tip which is my other theory as to why he didn’t wanna split it up,! Lol but the police end up being on our side ! He said there was no manager present, he wasnt able to void or redo or split any checks . If you work in the industry you know its a code your manager could have easily passed to you. At the end , we did our own math and paid the bill. He said we came up short again.Little sneaky self try to tuck the money we gave him for the bill! No gratuityWas given for his disgusting customer service ! My brown people DO NOT GO HERE !!!!!
Food: The food was amazing. The portions are large and there was so much food leftover. Their drinks are definitely worth checking out.Service: Very quick. We went in thinking that our wait would be well over 30 mins but they were able to squeeze us in within 5 minutes.Cost: Very reasonableWould I go back: Absolutely.
Fun little club. They have different floors with different music. The wife got in free and I was required to pay a $10 cover. Drinks were priced normally for NYC clubs which is $10 to $15. Rated right in the middle because everything was pretty average. Nothing grabbed my attention as being better than another place.
As I was waiting by the hostess stand to be seated, she went around me to speak to the white people behind me. When I interrupted to not that I was waiting first and arrived prior to them, she got frazzled and walked off. I had to wait for another staff member who observed the interaction to be serviced.
Went here pre-pandemic and had a great experience. Back in NYC for the first time since, I decided to return to Iguana. It was as good as I remembered. I had the sangria margarita, Mexican quesadilla and an out of this world citrus flan. I will definitely return here again!
Has a club downstairs which is fun but if you show up earlier bring an Aux cause no DJ till later
Went for lunch there once; really tasty food, I would comer back for that. Little pricey maybe for lunch but it was good.Really liked the happy hour promotion of margaritas; which are really good for just $7. If you go just for drinks, I recommend going early (meaning around 6), as it starts getting crowded after that. Not a big fan of the music though; I know it’s a latin place but there should be more variety. If you LOVE bachata and salsa, then it’s fine.
The visit to this restaurant was a very unusual experience to say the least. The service was terrible. We ordered Filets and it was very bland, cooked incorrectly and overpriced. Drinks were never offered and we had to run down someone to get them and then the drinks were not refilled. I actually had to get up and go to the bar and ask for refills. We spoke with Manager finally after first being told he was gone for the night. Terrible Experience and I will not ever return and would recommend everyone else avoid this restaurant at all cost.
I normally don’t like to comment because I’ve never felt like I had too, but in this instance I did especially as a visitor. The food here wasn’t too good and the service was worse. We walked in, got seated, and were asked what we wanted to drink. It was 20-25min after we ordered our drinks we got them and between that wait time we had ordered our food. We walked in along side another couple, got seated about the same time, and got our food 40min later and to top it off my chicken and shrimp were cold. FIND ANOTHER PLACE especially if you have an experienced Latin palate.
I work upstairs, in the adjacent building so its great to stop by for a quick bite before work or a refreshing cocktail after Ive completed my days tasks. The music and guest service are great and I love it in here!PS. Get the wings! Theyre great!
Very nice bar upstairs. Friendly bartender and all drinks are fully stocked. Very nice environment and the food is prepared pretty well. The chicken sticks and steak quesadillas are the best. The bathroom is pretty tight. Only 3 can use the bathroom at a time.
One of my favorite spots in the city if your into Spanish music and also a little hood. They have 2 dance floors. Upstairs for the Latin lovers and downstairs for the hip hop fanatics. The main floor is the restaurant which I’ve also been too and have had great food. Can’t go wrong with this Mexican spot!
My favorite place to go for Mexican food and salsa dancing. Always ordering fresh guacamole. yummy!!!! The cook preparing it right in front of our table!! The drinks are amazing! Margarita’s choice on every choice and mood!, love it! Trying to make it after Broadway shows with friends!! Highly recommend.
Went at 10:30 am, Sat, was the only one there and ordered the breakfast burrito... Wow awesome. I great server, friendly hostess and terrific bar tender. I rate it five stars because I wanted-for-not during and after my meal.
Yesterday, the restaurant on the second floor had a dance floor and a live band playing on the background. The band was excellent and exciting to listen to. There is also a bar to order a mojito. I was more excited with my appetizer and the band then my drink. Customer service was good. I was overall happy with my experience.
I attended Iguana for a Google event. I did enjoy the setup and layout. Im gluten sensitive so I didnt get to try much of the food. However, the first floor seemed nice and classy for a great dinner for business or personal dates. The second floor where the event took place was nicely spaced out. You had a back area where there was a live band and a standing room or dance floor in front of it.Near the staircase, there was a spacious area for those who just wanted to mellow out and chat.I would like to revisit this place and have dinner with friends on the first floor. The staff was courteous and I would like to revisit. The Google+ event gets a +1 for me! I got to meet a few new folks, play around in the photo booth, and watch the live band play. Overall, it was a nice night.Insider tip, for those who are google+ fanatics like me, go ahead and turn on party mode at the event you RSVP. It automatically uplaods photos you take into your Google+ events page. Win win for all! Go Google+! This is a more interpersonal approach than Yelp. Its a smart way to have folks visit areas across NYC, bring local businesses some foot traffic, and have everyone use Google+ for social and business.
Both food and staff at this restaurant are average. Food wasn’t super flavorful and portions were small… didn’t seem like we were getting our money’s worth. Staff were also indifferent to guests and not super friendly.
Great place for Tapas and drinks with friends after work. Its walking Distance from 1 A B & C trains. I love their happy hour specials and drinks and food are very affordable on regular menu. Offers two different types of music/vibes. Throughout the night 3 level atmosphere. upstairs and the basement have Dancefloor and bar. The Main level is the Bar /resturant for a more conversational setting to hang with friends and coworkers over great appetizers/drinks.
