We went for a couples massage and the massage was great but thats where everything ended. The website is very deceiving - they show pictures of the pool, sauna, etc but when you get there, it turns out that the pool and sauna are not available to you, theyre only available to residents and the hotel guests. At one point, the manager came to speak to me and he was one of the worst managers Ive ever seen. All kidding aside, they really need to replace him, I wouldnt put him in charge of a McDonalds. He told me its noted in the confirmation. Who reads a confirmation except for when youre double checking your time??I explained to him that it was very deceiving; his response was that it was marketing and not the spa who did it. I reiterated that it was very deceiving to put pool pics in the spa photos. I also mentioned the sauna not being there but mentioned in the amenities and photos. He responded by telling me that the sauna is a separate service that you can book. We pulled up the booking page and asked him to show us where it was! He didnt even know where it was either!Ive been to four seasons hotels, restaurants, and spas around the world and have always enjoyed myself but this was the worst experience Ive ever had and the worst customer service Ive ever had.At the end, I told him that I didnt appreciate how deceptive it is and his response, so I would not be returning to this location. His response? Im sorry to hear thatIts a shame because Ive been to their locations in Vegas, Chicago, Orlando, both locations in London, Abu Dhabi, and have always had great experiences but the experience at the downtown location was horrible. Between deceptive practices and an incompetent spa manager, I would avoid this location like the plague.
The Four Seasons downtown offers one of the best sanctuaries in the city. It’s a small spa tastefully designed with neutral tones throughout. The staff are friendly and competent and provide one of the best booking experiences I have ever had. Massages are wonderful, everyone is a seasoned therapist so you can’t go wrong:). Worth the splurge! Also opens on thanksgiving and other major holiday.
Had a 90-min massage yesterday. Service was performed by an Asian female therapist who repeatedly said she was “confused” with my pressure instructions and that she was “not sure” if she could do a deep massage today. Moreover, the therapist lacked training in both proper service manner and massage technique. Massage was at times extremely sharp and uncomfortable, resulting in discomfort and pain even a day after. Front desk did not bother to ask how the service was. Will not return.
Treated my daughter to have a 60 minute full body massage for her Birthday. The Spa sends you a survey to ask your preferences but do they read it is another story. Unfortunately it did not turn out well. She was disappointed with the massage, she asked for deep massage and felt as if the lady put suntan lotion on her for 60 minutes. For the price that was paid, totally disappointed.
I wanted to take a moment to recognize Veronika, my exceptional nail technician. I get gel manicures every 2-3 weeks, and have had many quality nail technicians over the years - but Veronikas attention to detail and dedication to her craft is above and beyond.Taking my nail shape, desired look and preferred products into consideration her approach was meticulous in every detail; and a world apart from the paint job that many less skilled technicians rush through.I only wish I lived in NYC so I could see her on a more frequent basis. For nails, look no further - Veronika at the Four Seasons Downtown is the BEST OF THE BEST!
I was really excited to book a session with a friend thats a healer here. After booking, I was sent a confirmation where the price was $75 more than listed on the website. After speaking to a manager, the Four Seasons takes no accountability and just chalks this up to a glitch in their system. Whereas in reality, they just hadnt updated their website; falsely advertising services. I definitely dont feel comfortable supporting a company that behaves this way. Isnt this considered fraud and deceptive marketing?
DO NOT BOOK. We were 7 minutes late due to nyc traffic. They deducted the time. By the time I got into the bed for a 30 minute massage, I was down to an eleven minute massage. They charged me full price. Very snotty staff and the massage wasn’t even that great. The music sounds like youre in a torture chamber. DO NOT RECCOMMEND!
My wife and I booked a couples Massage for $410. We arrived early as we were told the amenities would be complementary for us to use. As I went into the mens locker room I noticed the sauna was out of order... This was a huge disappointment as that was the reason we arrived early. When we finished the massage (which was just ok), we noticed we did not even get the full 50 minutes we paid for. On top of that, when we went to leave, the FS automatically charged a $90 tip fee. I would be ok with that except, the service was sub par. Next time we will go somewhere else.
Two stars because my therapist was very good; but the spa itself is terrible and has nothing to offer especially for the price
Amazing spa with a relaxing atmosphere! Really great service and great staff.
