I bought tickets to a wrestling event and after driving all the way to newport me and my friend find its canceled. No email no notifications, nothing. Ive been trying to call for 3 days to get into contact with anyone. No one returns my calls or emails. I will be actively telling people Not to deal with the newport blues cafe. A bunch of scam artists.
I bought tickets for an event that never happened. There was no cancelation email, no rescheduling, no refund. It was just a no-show event. SO BEWARE WHEN BUYING TICKETS FOR AN EVENT! I have emailed twice and no one has gotten back to me about a refund.
Bought 5 tickets for a show on Wednesday night,we paid to park, arrived to venue...doors locked,no lights etc.Called, emailed,no response!Posters were in the widows for show but apparently it didnt happen.Looking for my refund!Never again.
Was overcharged by $44 last Friday. Was ordering a corona and a vodka lemonade. Had previously been charged $19 and then the second time $63.75. Have tried to contact them by calling and leaving messages on their website but no response
Came here for an event and noticed an old man was creeping on young girls. Come to find out he is the owner and has a reputation for getting guards to kick out people who call him out. I warned those around me out of concern before leaving. Think twice before coming here. Also drinks were expensive.
Time breakfast place noisy but good food service and nice
Very disappointing. Last time I came - loved it. Last night. $10 cover for a band. Band was tuning for 30 minutes. Played the same sone twice and took an extended break. Left at 9P.
Was Leary after buying tickets for an event then reading reviews after....About an hour ride for us. We got there early and the place was full...found a seat and wondered if perhaps it was a bad idea. Boy was I wrong !. The place is spotless. My wife and I were treated with nothing but respect from the staff and security. As the night progressed we went outside to get some fresh air, a long line formed outside. We were allowed to reenter without waiting in line. Very nice, friendly place.drinks were cold and reasonably priced. Definitely will be returning next month !
Nice place to go see a concert. Only thing i would like to see fixed, is making sure customers can get out before or at any during the concert. We had a rough time leaving. It was very crowded and people were extremely rude in letting us do so. Other than that, the bartenders and security were great.
They do a great job with the talent and every time I go I have the best time. Sarge always greets us with a smile and conversation at the door and makes us feel welcome. The atmosphere is always fun and lively, and its a mandatory stop for my friends and me each night we are in Newport. I like that the bar attracts a diverse range of ages and everyone has the common goal of having fun.
Newport Blues Cafe is a great place to listen and dance to live music. Dont let the name fool you, there is much more than the blues here. The cover bands play current top 40, dance, hip hop, rock, country, and as the employees say the bands play a little bit of everything. If youre looking for a place to relax and enjoy a drink with the person you just met or the people who you came with, there are plenty of spots to do just that, relax, enjoy the conversation and do some people watching. The upstairs bar has seating and a large cut out to watch the band and people dancing down below. The bank vault room holds a pool table and extra seating. The staff is friendly and does all they can to make sure you have a great experience. All you need to do is enjoy the music, drinks, bar menu (until 10, but the door men always suggest great places to eat elsewhere if the Blues kitchen is closed). If someone is causing a disturbance the security staff resolves the situation quickly and efficiently. Thats why the Blues is consistently voted best girls night out in Newport. Enjoy...
Where mediocre straight white boys go to feel validated. Got hate crimed in the bathroom by some insecure 21 year olds. This place allows awful behavior from its patrons.
Would’ve loved to come here, as my roommate and I bought tickets for an event in August, but when we showed up well after they opened, they were closed with no warning or explanation anywhere. When we attempted to contact them multiple times about either transferring tickets for another event, or simply getting a refund for an event that never happened - they never followed through. When we finally got a hold of someone, nothing happened. Kept briefly following up and we got ignored. It’s about the principle of the situation, and I hate to leave a bad review - but this is just downright sketchy :/
The live music is always excellent, drinks are good although a bit expansive. The real focal point of this bar is the live music, bands that come in to jam out, have a great time, and ensure the crowd is really digging their tunes. Dont let the name fool you, it may be called the Blues Cafe, but they play a great assortment of music.
Newport Blues Café is a high energy night club that consist of live music on the weekend. ON of the best spots for Live Music. They have different performers weekly. If youre looking to dance this is the place to be.
Great band and atmosphere and service at the main bars, the side bar downstairs had some rude young chick who said the bar didn’t have any water
I ordered two shots of vodka and the waitress filled each shot glass halfway and charge me $18. Other than that the place was pretty nice. But I would at least expect to get two full shots for $18.
Great live music. Not just blues either. If we could have found a seat away from the upper bar that would have been nice, coat check? But the crowd was great, nice staff, good place to unwind.
This place was alright I mean I was walking down this road with all the bars and ended up in this spot. This girl was singing with some band and they were ok. After that though the ride back to New Bedford was a long one. Next time I’ll probably get a hotel and spend a few more days exploring the area. 5 stars for this.
Live music which can be hard to find in smaller towns/cities. The blues cafe occasionally has well known bands play which is always a treat. Definitely worth checking out and there is a bar upstairs if you want to just watch, listen, and not be amongst throngs of people dancing or gawking.
Didn’t start off well-website said open at 6PM, didn’t really open until 7PM (more like 7:10). Friendly staff, decent food. Their main thing is the live bands, but it doesn’t start until around two 10 PM, and we weren’t going to stick around for that long.
This place was the absolute WORST. The staff not only doesnt know how to make drinks, but they are EXTREMELY rude. The blonde manager knows nothing about customer service and seems to be miserable at her job if she cant serve people with common respect, courtesy, or at least a smile. Safe to say save your money and RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
Terrible food, unfriendly staff, and corny cover bands that play so loud the bartender has to ask you ten times which overpriced and badly mixed drink youre ordering. If youre middle aged with no kids this is the place for you.
Never paid so much for drinks anywhere, also after paying the Bartender for the drinks, I was gathering a few bucks for a tip, and before I could hand it to her she rudely got loud with me and said wheres my tip, are you kidding me???
We stopped in to see the Little Compton Band, and it was amazing. Awesome vibe, environment and, most of all, music. This place met or exceeded all my expectations.
Walked in for dinner. No one was insterested in serving food. I watched a table of 4 walk out. Waiting about 10 minutes and walked up to the bar and asked if they were serving dinner. I got a deer in the headlights look. This is a restaurant right? Apparently service isn’t their concern. The place was empty also.
I go whenever feverband comes here. The sound system is very high quality and It has a fun environment
Dope venue!! Great crowds, location, staff and people!! Upstairs is very nice. Just as nice as the every level.
Bought tickets for New years eve they over sold and we couldn’t get in, basically robbed us!
Great place for live music to dance... til the super young crowd comes in and stands on the dance floor and dont dance.
The Newport Blues Cafe is a fun bar to go to they have many different bands that come in there its always a great time in good beer!
We love this spot! Its a must when in Newport. Live music and you cant beat the chill atmosphere from the upper bar.
Great bands, great building. Dance downstairs, take a breath upstairs but keep an eye on the action through the cut out floor.
Floors were super sticky and gross, but the live bands are awesome.
Newport blues lemonade was *chefs kiss* same with the fudge brownie!!!!
I love the bands they get and the feel of the place all around is womderful
Neat place with a cool upstairs. There is a hole in the 2nd floor so you can watch the band from upstairs.
Great music. Fun place to dance and enjoy live music
