Just a few issues with our room last weekend - our sheets did not smell clean, the floors were dirty when we arrived. But the real issue - there is no screens on the windows, or a mechanism to lock them so it did not feel secure leaving our belongings in the room or sleeping there (especially right on the first level by the parking lot.).
My first time staying there and I will be back soon. Ben, the manger, is a great guy and his hospitality is outstanding. There was a mix up on my reservation that I had made online and Ben went out of his way to correct it with a smile on his face. Clean, quiet and comfortable rooms at a great rate and a staff that goes out of there way to make sure you have the best stay possible. I highly recommend The Newport Inn. I fish out of Newport very often and am so happy I found this motel. The motel I normally stayed at has changed since last season and I had to find a new place to stay. The Newport inn will definitely be my go to lodging for my future stays.
Soooo dirty!!! From front office to the rooms. Just filth. Stains on mattress, sheets, walls, and even towels. Fan in bathroom didn’t work. Mold around bathtub. Toilet had pee all over it. It was a last resort stay and I would have rather slept in my car. Slept in my sleeping bag on the bed, that bad!! I’ll never forget this one. Ya’ll do better! Sad you guys operate in that condition. I never review and had to warn people! Repeat do not waste your money.
Only stayed one night but the room was perfect size for a single, everything was clean. There was plenty of towels and soap for showers. Overall is was quick check in and easy check out.
This hotel is right on a busy throughway. Not only did we hear cars all night, but the room itself was very bright. There were no blinds, just some decorative curtains, which meant bright lights from the hallway outside, shined in.The place offer no breakfast and is relatively expensive for what you get.
This was disgusting. The place looks good from the outside. We got here and the guys at the front desk were ridiculously rude, one was the other gentleman was nice and seemed to cover for his partner. We had questions about the room and the rude guy kept repeating I already confirmed it was very annoying. He had also hung up on us earlier when we tried asking about the room.. we checked in despite the treatment. As we walked up to the room a room adjacent to ours had a window open and the hallway smelt like garbage, there was blood on the stairs and if felt like being in a slum. The place was so gross and smelt so bad we immediately went down to the front office and the door was looked 2 minutes after check in the front desk people were gone and locked up. We had to call someone who managed the multiple properties and still waiting on a refund. Overall the place was disgusting and the one guy at the front desk was awful. Never ever staying at one of those properties. Dont book
Booked two nights here, first one went fine but at one point in the day our key card stopped working and we couldnt access our room. Went down to the office to get help, but the door was locked with an emergency number posted on the door. Called the number thrice with no answer. Sat in the car for a little while before noticing a door close in the back, so we thought hey, lets try to get their attention by knocking on the door! Bad idea. After about 30 seconds the man in the back comes storming out and tells us this behavior is unacceptable. We try to explain that we just needed into our room and had nowhere else to go, and he says we should have called the number. We said we did, but he doesnt believe us. Runs to our room and unlocks it without us following, and was kind enough to leave the door wide open with all of our belongings out in the open for any passerby to take. Comes back to us at the front and tells us we have 30 minutes to pack up and leave. Tried talking to him and apologizing but he shuts us down at every word and keeps telling us to get out, then goes back into his office and leaves us wondering what the heck just happened. Luckily the man that checked us into the motel the day before was outside and noticed something happening, and as if this is something that happens often, reacts very calmly and says that he will get us a new key card and everything is fine. Was willing to put the dirtiness of our room aside for the sake of being polite + it was cheap, but the threat of being kicked out for simply needing some help is not worth the stay!
Hotel nightmare. before i even opened the door all the way i wanted to leave. it reeked of moldy cigarettes. i took my shoes off for one minute and the bottom of my feet turned brown. there where dead bugs in the room. boogers on the walls. there was no covers on the outlets. the bottom of the wall was exposed. i found pills stuck in the bottom of the wall due to there being no trim. the lamp shades where held together by duck tape. there where two remotes and neither of them worked. the chair looked like it had blood on it and looked like it hadn’t ever been wiped down. it was absolutely disgusting and it is not okay that they are charging $200 for someone to sleep there.
Do not stay here unless you have a vacume and cleaning supplies because they will put you in a pet friendly room and then not return your deposit because of pet hair........ They literally expect you to do the house keepers job in order to get your deposit back. We use to be house keepers, so we stripped the beds and put everything in piles to make it easy for them and took out our trash and they repay us with saying there was pet hair all over the room and they are not returning our deposit.... Not to mention the office was never open. However, the guy who checked us in at night was super friendly and very helpful.
It was the weekend and I was really sick and stuck out in the rain. They had some kind of issue booking a ticket on the weekend I dont remember why but when I told them I was sick and stuck in the rain and pretty freaked out they said come on in well get you taken care of. I think they charged me 20$ less for the first night. I spent a few more nights there and I never had any issues. It was so hard to leave the hotel. I was really not feeling well. I had another hotel that charged me twice as much and neither the microwave or the coffee pot worked. Everything worked everything was clean I had no problems thank you
The hotel is dirty , period. I had been camping, so all I cared about was a shower. But if I were passing through town again, Id stay in the town over. The only place worth stopping in was the walmart- Im not sure any other motels would be better. I slept in my clothes to not touch the bed, showered in the morning and left. Nearby towns have way more options! If it had been cheaper, OK, but the price was over $100 for grime!
I have enjoyed my stay here every time I was working in the area. The location is nice with Fred Meyers directly across the road, the beach is a short walk away and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is always friendly and helpful and booking is a breeze. I highly recommended this place if you’re just looking for a nice place to sleep at a good price.
Im baffled by the low ratings for this place! Ive had the pleasure of staying here multiple times, and each experience has been exceptional. The pricing is always competitive, and on my last visit, I was upgraded to a double bed room at no extra cost - a lovely surprise! Even though I was traveling solo, the staff didnt hesitate to accommodate me. The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable, with a great selection of TV channels and on-demand options. The free Wi-Fi was a bonus, and the bed was so cozy that I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. Parking was ample and convenient, and the nearby stores are fantastic. If youre looking an affordable anda comfortable stay in Newport, I highly recommend the Newport Inn - its a hidden gem
If I could 0 stars I would, we booked them through Travelocity for a weekend trip with our son and cancelled our room with out ever getting a hold of anyone and the lying about it to Travelocity and us, even worse the guy at the counter was the rudest service member for any person I have had to deal with. Dont book here if you want to have a for sure place to stay. The best word to describe them is Unreliable
I stayed here long term during a tough time in my life for roughly three months. During this time I was able to focus and better myself in a room that was quiet and clean. The staff was incredibly friendly and I had good experiences with all that I happened to interact with. I would 100% stay here again and would recommend it even more than many of the beachside view motels. Great location too as far as being In the center of all the major store chains in Newport.
I stayed here 2 days it is a budget Motel you will have lower end aesthetics in the room. My room and bed were very clean. The walls are a bit thin I could hear my neighbors but not awful. The staff however are pretty great the manager Becca is really nice answered all my questions about the area. The night guy is also incredibly nice and professional. I did enjoy my stay. I was moved into a different room due to a plumbing issue but was advised patiently asked to move. it was not an inconvenience. Regardless of the room you will be treated right.
All the reviews are true. The manager was a semi decent ex military guy. Seemed like he wanted to actually help. But he didnt. They discriminate for sure. If you are in between spots and need a short term weekly rate motel do not stay unless you are prepared for some MK ultra weirdo stuff.
Rooms were spacious and came with a fan which was nice!! Clean and price wasnt so bad for the 4th of july week!! Everyone was friendly, overall enjoyed our stay very much!!
No STARS on this review. We booked a room with 2 beds and were given only one bed for my brother and our mom! There were ants CRAWLING on the walls, floor and BED! Front desk attendant was unfriendly, combative and lied to the booking app agent who called for our refund request.
My review is five star for the manager who helped us out in a very awful situation. The front desk -5 stars. He was unhelpful. She was amazing.Thank you!!
TL;DR: Discriminates against the houseless, despite most of the rooms being occupied by them, and its not worth the cheap price to put up with the poor service and location. My wife and I rent long-term during the winter months, as we live in our car for most of the year and the rooms are cheap once tourist season ends. We sign a lease and everything. Weve been coming to this motel for about three years now and have never had a problem until now. Our room was paid up for two months, and we were in our second month, hoping to have enough money for a third before we check out. We get a notice telling us that we owe an extra $700+ or well be evicted. Not only was our room paid, but you cant stay here at all without paying upfront at the desk. My wife talks to the manager, she says shell look into it, she never contacts us, and we get an eviction notice from her a couple days later. She finally looks into it and finds out that its a glitch. They tried to evict us over a glitch, which is a technical term for oops, we thought we could get more money from your rich friends we just met, our bad. Theres no glitch in their system that decides people havent paid in full, and that same manager accepted both payments herself and knows how much money was wasted on this place. Now, with only two days until checkout, we get another eviction notice on our door, telling us that we have two days to vacate or theyll call the police on us. When we brought it to the manager, she said that it was because we have no means to pay, as if we werent going to leave at checkout. She even told my wife, as she was leaving, Its not personal, its just business. They only know that we cant afford a third month because we TOLD THEM SO and we said we wouldnt be staying longer. At that time, they gave us someone to contact for help with late rent, and we cant get that help because were not late and cant stay here long enough to be late. Last year, we stayed here for five months without any problems from management, which is a month longer than usually allowed, and we always paid upfront in full, since you still couldnt get a room without doing so, like any normal thing on Earth. We have a good record at this motel, covering the last three years, and a good reputation in Newport, so they have no reason to treat us this way. So, if youre houseless or poor, dont let them know. Apparently, new management discriminates if they think you cant pay. If the money comes through before checkout, theyve lost a loyal customer over nothing. On top of this: rooms are never clean when we get them, walkways are generally dirty and sometimes a little bloody, grassy areas are loaded with dog feces despite it being against the rules, renters stand right outside their rooms to smoke, the managers office is almost never open, and weve had housekeeping let themselves in after being told we didnt need them. I wouldnt have mentioned any of this if not for the poor treatment.
Definitely believe all the negative reviews about this place! Room was barely swept, scuff marks all over walls and just visibly dirty. Beds were okay besides them being on rollers but wish I had a black light to really check them. One of the lamps switches didn’t work so you have to plug and unplug the lamp and the 2nd lamp didn’t even have a light bulb. Room smelt of mildew. No AC or fan so the room got hot and humid, can’t imagine being there during summer. The window has no screen so we did not want to open it, the curtain doesn’t extend the window so light comes in easily. High foot traffic, heard people and doors slamming constantly even past quiet time. There’s designated smoking areas that people did not use, many people smoked on the balconies and right in front of their rooms. No breakfast included website lies. Not worth more than $40 a night. Only positives was that the front desk was friendly and they did not charge me for a pet fee.
This place is a joke. Hidden fees and security deposit they dont tell you about until after you book. I only had enough to book the hotel then got an email saying they require a $100 deposit at checking or you lose your booking. Then you call to talk about it and you get someone in another country that barely speaks any understandable English that cant help you. Worst situation Ive ever encountered and I travel a lot.
Check in went great! Employee was very nice and friendly. Room was a little dirty and the heat only worked part time. Great location, within walking distance from lots to see.
My room was nice and clean. No complaints there. Although having an air conditioner would have been nice.Very convenient location. Rather loud due to the traffic but there’s not much you can do about that. The lady at the front desk was nice and very helpful. My only complaint is that the stairwell and walkway to my room on the second floor were very dirty.Over all it was a good bargain.
The lady who checked us in was super sweet but it’s definitely not the nicest hotel. As soon as we walked in it reeked of weed even though the rooms are supposed to be non smoking and there might be mold or some weird fuzzy thing growing around the smoke alarm. They could really benefit from wiping down the walls, doors and sweeping the floors it would make the place feel a lot cleaner. I would say it’s fine but definitely shouldn’t charge more than $50 a night. Itchy beds without even getting under the covers…debated sleeping in the car.
My family enjoy the Newport Inn, we slept well and the location was great. It was a fun stay there and would stay there again. The Guthrie’s
I booked here through Expedia, the pictures they show are completely not what you get. The room was completely outdated and the floors were filthy. I will upload pictures to show. Would not stay here again place is very rundown feeling would not have paid what I did For the room I got. I ended up using cleaner and towels to clean the floor myself because I could not walk around on it in good conscience. (Pictures show the dirty towel after I cleaned)
Lady at the front desk was nice until my mom came to pick me up due to the power outage and told her she couldnt walk up a certain set of stairs leading to my room (there were no signs stating the stairs were closed) she then called THE POLICE and told them about my mom breaking into my room we left and this morning I got a call from her telling me my room was a mess and when I tried to explain myself she said she wasnt arguing with me and that I had 30 mins to come get my stuff and hung up before I could say anything else. Even at $40 a night its not worth it to stay here, I was a long term stayover and was made to buy my own toilet paper/shampoo/ soap and no way to wash anything, along with the fact 2 weeks was paid in advance and never got the money back for the remaining time. By far the worst experience in a motel Ive ever had or with any business for that matter! 😤
Upon arrival there was no one at the front desk. We used the phone number posted on the front door to call the only employee on staff to come let us inside to check in. The employee was competent, friendly, and fast. He got us checked in and we went to our room. The room smelled like mildew and cigarettes. The floor was dirty and there was ugly pipes sticking through the walls held by untreated lumber. Throughout the night the pipes were loud, the traffic was loud, and whenever there was a break the person upstairs would slide their chair across the floor or accidentally step on his dogs tail. I didnt get any sleep.
For room being so big TV was too small couldnt see the closed captions on the TV from bed to relax just needs a bigger TV so people who are dear and hard of hearing can see the captions on the TV screen also needs a hot tub and pool for everyone to enjoy as well especially for being in Newpoet, Oregon which is where my handsome man and I stayed in last night
3 night rental Qsize yesterday we only asked for towels. Today 12/28/23 Thursday needed bed changed and towels. Desk informed us there is no housekeeping today. There isnt anything to hang up clothes, not even one hook. Complimentary shampoo and 1 tiny soap. Nice heat lamp in bathroom. Mattress is comfortable. WiFi and TV works well.
Mediocre at best! Management sux! Always in your personal business then calls the cops on anyone giving a side eye but feels she can put hands on a person like shes all tuff stuff! She can pretty much get bent!!! This place blows!
The stay was fine overall. We didnt have an issue with the room itself except for the bed and pillows, which were both old and VERY uncomfortable. The curtains also didnt extend the whole length of the window, so it wasnt a great experience if you want to sleep in past sunrise.Otherwise we enjoyed it. The shower worked great, the coffee was fine, the room was spacious, no issues with anything else really.I would recommend if youre looking for a place to sleep while you spend the rest of your time outside the hotel.
Cleaning people do a great job, no garbage, gross sheets or dirty floor or bathroom, BUT if you wanna be accused of your dog going off and told “one more complaint and you’re gone” while a couple dogs are going off and people smoking certain herbs around you?? Do you want your child uncomfortable because of staff looking through the window at night?? then look no further!!! This “dog friendly” resort is perfect for a little over a sliver of grass for potty room before private property of an auto store. Beds are comfortable but I really wish I had brought a black light to make sure no sketchy things have gone on.
This place is disgusting. There was stains on the floor mattress and sheets. The sink wouldn’t drain no air conditioning in the room. The window being open is the only way to get air in and there’s no screen. Nothing was wiped down. No phone. Overall just gross and the room is the size of a box. The only positive experience was talking to booking and them getting me out of my reservation.
The front desk was friendly and helpful. Room was nothing great. TV didn’t work no info on how to work it. No phone in room. Floor mat was stained. Tub was also stained! The front desk said they were remodeling. King bed night stand with lamps. One chair with a small table. Microwave and refrigerator. Was a little noisy but not bad. I would not recomend it.. Bed was comfortable No Ice Machine!!! Air conditioning couldn’t be adjusted.
Had a confirmed booking for this hotel for a one week stay. We called the hotel two days ahead to request a downstairs room which they had and said they would switch us to the downstairs room. They emailed us confirming the change. When we arrived at the hotel we were told they had overbooked and didn’t have a room for us. The parent company OYO refused to move us to another property they had nearby for the same price. We were stranded in Newport with no hotel on a Friday night.
The room was cozy, the blankets were super comfortable but the beds didnt seem to be made very well, as in the blankets or sheets werent tucked in when i got there, they were just laid on top. it also kinda felt like there was sand or something already in the bed. plus they only give you 2 pillows per bed (or at least there were only 2 in my room) theres a mini fridge but not a freezer, the microwave was dirty, the bathroom towls just kinda looked tossed onto the rack, one of them still looked dirty. Overall its not totally terrible but definitely not great.
Loved the front staff at the inn she was so incredibly helpful and kind. In the future i will NEVER use OYO ever again I do not recommend using OYO to book any rooms in the future. I booked the room 3 weeks prior they took my payment and when I got the hotel I was told my payment never “processed” I couldn’t get my room however the front staff was amazing in getting me a better deal for the room and helping us. The hotel room itself was what you expect for $68 a night but otherwise not bad!
The employee at the desk was very understanding when I asked to change rooms. The 1st room was not acceptable and I didn’t feel safe. No security lock, no smoke detector. The room I changed to was slightly better- safer but no AC and you could not open the windows. There was no breakfast in the morning.
The rooms were only surface clean. There was stuff on the walls in the bathroom and the floors felt super gritty. Also a very weird smell to the rooms. Price was great but would pay a bit more for somewhere else next time.
Probably the worst experience staying along the coast line. Sleeping in my vehicle would have felt safer and more clean. The front desk agent was nowhere to be found when we arrived. Waited for 30 minutes before getting into our room calling every number listed. Smoke pit of people by the dumpsters made us worried about parking. “Management” if it even was, knocked on our door at 10:30pm while we were watching a movie claiming a noise complaint… we were exhausted and eating a pizza this was either misplaced complaint or possibly not even management… we felt too unsafe to even open the door
The room was clean enough and comfortable. I had asked for a room on the top floor so my family and I could get some sleep (literally the only reason we booked a place for the night) and was assured by management that there was no one above me. Less than an hour later they put an entire family with a large dog and a small child right above us that ended up stomping around on the floor all night until 1 a.m. it probably would have been a great stay if it wasnt for that. Its also very close to a cell tower so if anyone is concerned about radiation- theres that.
John and Marie have been the new owners of this place for about 3 months. I spoke to John and met Marie, and they are truly some of the most friendly kind hearted honest owners/managers Ive met traveling. OYO booked a room they didnt have, so John called me and got OYO on chat, and told me everything he told them to cancel it, it is the fastest way to get a resolution with OYO. He told me its very difficult dealing with OYO and hes doing his best. He got me a refund immediately, then proceeded to find me a different non overbooked room on Thanksgiving evening that could be readied for me, at his rate, which was much cheaper. He is a very respectable human who wants nothing but to help you. Thank you again! We arrived to a dark front desk around 7PM and called OYO. They said they couldnt do anything, so we found a different number and called it, and Marie came out to help immediately all smiles after her Thanksgiving dinner. We apologized for coming in later than usual, and she truly understood, wasnt upset at all, and we had a very nice conversation about the motel and the progress her and John were making on it. She checked us in very quickly and efficiently, and set us up proper. Thank you Marie, you are a very kind person!!! The property is like any other motel, not dirty, but not the Ritz. Areas were clean, trashes empty, and no shady people. We found our room and it was bigger than expected. It was clean, bed comfy and everything worked. We were hoping for a fan in the room for airflow but a crack in the window was fine. The entire property looks very promising with time. Youve done well so far! Thanks again!
You get exactly what you pay for and more with this location! Nice little cozy room, very comfortable bed, super clean nice bathroom. Cable television works good we get about 80 channels. The staff here is just absolutely amazing super super nice people run this place! Its literally right in the middle of town and almost everythings within walking distance or within a 5-minute drive! If youre expecting the Hilton dont come here but if you want a nice clean room with friendly staff for a very good price this is the place for you. Due to the mild climate here there are no air conditioners but there are screened windows that can be opened and heat If you are one of those peoples that absolutely has to have an air conditioner this might not be the place for you. Keep in mind even in July a very rarely gets above 75° here.
Room clean everything worked properly pets allowed big plus for us . Front desk friendly and helpful
I consider house keeping just entering the room before checkout time a stark breach of privacy. Automatic 1 star.
My go to place when I come to the coast main thing is they are pet friendly and dont pull the whole oh we didnt know your dog was that big been to many places saying pets allowed until I got to check in and they say oh sorry 35 lbs limit .not here
Dirty and tiny. I found it ironic that their sign out front says stay safe. The rooms at the back are some kind of long term apartments, weird. There were dirty clothes left by someone previous to us, a roll of toilet paper that looks like it was left in water that was now completely dry. Dirty walls and the room was smaller than my garden shed. Never want to stay here again. Not a great area if you are staying with kids. The staff was friendly, helpful and understanding. I was given a full refund for our stay, no complaints there. We ended up staying at The Whaler on Elizabeth st, and it was 5 star amazing for the same price.
Overall a 4 star or 4.5 generally the price for what you are getting is more then fair. They had last minute memorial day openings and we snagged a 2nd floor room. Really impressed with the room overall However there is some cleaning concerns. Nothing exceptional or so over the top I would not stay and you can tell they are working hard to improve. Right off the 101 makes it super easy to locate and its only 3 minutes from the beaches so again for price point it is phenomenal ($350 for 3 nights/4 days over memorial day weekend.) Front staff was super kind and very good at interacting. Would book again!
Booked a room a month in advance and paid in full. Got an email at 3pm notifing me my room was canceled. Called multiple times to figure out why it was cancled, I was told I didnt show up in the proper check in time at 3:30 pm in the afternoon noon and even tho the latest you can check in is 9pm. This place wont refund me my money and wont answer my questions every time I call. Highly do not recommend this roach motel as to they are scum and a giant scam.
With growing demand in hotel stays as Spring arrives, they tend to raise prices. This was the cheapest I could find in Newport, we wouldnt have spent a night there otherwise. Expectation was low. No breakfast. Outside looks good. Inside not so good.Room had two small queen beds that would move. Newly done hardwood floor, that wasnt cleaned. Bathroom looked better than the room itself. TV looked old school.
Stayed there last night 6.28.2023-6.29.2023 and you know what. For the price, you just cant beat it. Right there on the highway, close by everything. Nice quiet rooms, friendly staff. The man there from New York (cant remember his name, sorry) was especially welcoming and very nice. Got us squared away immediately. No AC so the room was a tad warm through the night but Id have to say thats my only complaint. Would come back but bring a fan next time ;)
Great stay not a 5 star but it was a great place to go on the cheap and for a getaway
Worst sleep ever!!!Awful Bed! Honestly I probably would have gotten better sleep if I slept on the floor, but the room was too tiny. The bed was concave in the center and I could also feel sand coming up through the bed sheets.Room was hot and humid, with no AC and only one window that could open.We had people walking by our room until 2am, even though quiet hours started at 10pm. Upstairs was awake with young kids at 5:30am.Also bad...no ice or vending machines, had to ask for cups because room had none, pillows were flat.I gave two stars, instead of one, because the front desk employee was wonderful! Also our room did come with a mini fridge and microwave. Location was convenient. This could be such a better hotel if OYO put a little money into refreshing it.
Rooms were not exactly as comfortable as we had hoped. Beds were dated and actually had cracks in the shower walls. Location was good for easy on off the main st.
As we arrived the front desk service was so nice and genuinely pleased for our arrival. The location was great since we had a 5-10 minute walk through a neighborhood to get to agate beach and Fred Myers, an amazing bakery, and liquor store right next to the motel. The room was clean and warm and the bed was very comfortable. We would stay at this motel again forsure!
The room appeared pretty clean, but the beds were super uncomfortable and everything looked like it was falling apart. The water in the shower got to a lukewarm temperature at best. There were napkins shoved under one of the pieces of furniture to prevent it from wobbling, the toilet paper wall looked it was about to fall down. There were a bunch of holes in the wall. Somehow the remote wouldn’t allow me to turn the channel?? The furniture was mismatched, which wasn’t the end of the world, but did look a little odd. There was no deadbolt. There was a very flimsy lock in the handle and people could have easily made copies of the key to break in. We did not feel safe. I know this is owned by a corporation and I know they can do better.
This is an ancient facility. I applaud the now owners for investing in renovations, but it will take time before brining this facility up to a motel that I will seek out the next time I am in their town. So far, the bathrooms and floors have been updated and are nice. The absolute major problem at this time is, there is NO air conditioning in the rooms. I understand what a major financial issue this is for the new owners, but our night was miserably hot. The windows open, but with no screens and no way to block intruders from merely stepping into the room through the window. So, no open window. I suggest, that between now and the time the owners can install proper, up to date air conditioners, that they purchase at least one fan for each bed in each room. That will help folks sleep.
Definitely way better than these reviews had said and what my expectations were. I think we also had one of the renovated rooms but it was awesome. The only thing that I was worried about was my security but that was just like any other hotel with the room doors being outside out in the open. Another thing is that there was a really run down trailer in the parking lot that according to reviews has been there for a while. The noise is also there due to it being right next to the Highway but personally that did not keep me from sleeping. All over, for the price you pay which is around like $72 this an awesome hotel and the room itself is really clean.
The room itself was fine (mini fridge, TV, microwave), location was good. However, the bedsheets & comforter had red stains on them. Found similar red stains on the floor and on the hair dryer. Husband said floor did not appear swept when we first went in. The dresser drawers had crumbs in them so we did not use them.
They are currently doing some remodeling so the pictures don’t all match But the location is Easy to get to. The Staff was extremely friendly and everything is very clean. If you are looking for coast affective and simple this one is for youThe room is nothing fancy. Definitely bigger than expected but also clean and overall comfortable.
The rooms are clean thats about the best thing I can say about them. Everything is worn, and the back row of rooms are pretty much occupied by long-term homeless people. Its very noisy its on a very busy Street theres no air conditioning which is not in the advertising if you book ahead on anything like Priceline. There are no amenities not even ice maker. TVs are tiny, we were supposed to be booking a room with a queen we got a double. Not to mention it was literally one of the smallest hotel rooms weve ever stayed in, even motel 6 has bigger rooms.
Booked a room online and had to wait almost 2 hrs to be able to confirm the booking as the website refused to accept my card after multiple attempts. The place was a disappointment - trash everywhere, not sure if the room was cleaned after the previous occupant. One gentleman on the floor below was extremely rude and kept telling us to be quiet when all we did was move our bags to our room. We left in 10 mins without asking for our refund and booked elsewhere because of how disgusting/filthy the place is
Room was spacious and clean. The only issue was that there was no fan(we like to sleep with our window open and have a fan going just as personal comfort). It wasnt a huge issue as we purchased a fan from Fred Meyer across the street for $20. We were concerned that the bed was pretty far from the tv so we had to have the volume up pretty high and were worried for our neighbors but it had cable and a remote so we could adjust volume for the weird highs and lows that happen when watching tv. We were just grateful to not have a noise complaint as we felt like maybe it was loud potentially for our neighbors. The front desk Agent- Marie was so sweet and amazingly helpful. We were able to have a nice room that was clean and spacious for us and our two dogs. We were super happy and very satisfied. The fan and the tv being away from the bed werent big issues but just our personal preference. We will for sure be using the hotel again and were very grateful to find a spot that allowed pups. Clean, affordable, great location, awesome service and ultimately a perfect spot for a last minute stay with two doggos. The bed was extremely comfortable so that was wonderful (bouncy and firm for those who are curious).
Wonderful new owners who are very helpful. They are working to fix up the place and turn it into a good stop for travelers. The rooms are clean, small, and fairly scent free. Our room had great water pressure, microwave, fridge, television, and plenty of towels and soap.We would stay here again.
I was a little hesitant when i arrived, but it was worse than i expected. right next to a loud highway and the room offered no barrier from the noise. the walkways to the rooms on the second floor of the main building were covered in trash. when i entered my room, it had a weird smell and it looked like there was a large glob of snot smeared on the wall that had not been cleaned off. given the general unkempt state of the motel, i doubted my room had been fully cleaned and also didnt feel super safe there. ive never cancelled a hotel reservation after arriving, but i felt so uncomfortable that i immediately went back to the front desk and cancelled. unfortunately, i dont even think im getting a full refund. the photos make this look a lot nicer than it is. the prices are low, but youre still not getting what you pay for - its worse. i wish i had taken photos to demonstrate this, but i couldnt get out of there fast enough.
The first room smelled so bad we had to request a new room. Both rooms could have used a good cleaning The headboard was broken with nails sticking out.
If I could give less than 1 star I would. There was blood stains on the sheets and on the underside of the comforter. Drops of dried blood on the floor and in the bathroom. Long black dog hair in the bathroom… obvious that the cleaners didn’t sweep or mop. Makes you wonder if they cleaned at all.Fan in the bathroom was broken.NOT CLEAN! Do not stay here.
Good value. Room a/c worked great. Beds were super comfy and shower was hot. Easy check in and check out. Quiet at night for a good nights sleep.
It was not a good experience. Did not feel safe because there were cars broken down in the parking lot with random people smoking and watching you. When you get inside the motel there were cigarette holes in the comforter, both sinks were broken somehow. The walls were chipping away. When I try to use microwave it was missing a leg and sounded like it was going to explode. Just for one night it was $136!!! That was expensive for what it was. I will give it a even lower rating if I could!
Not what it said in all the apps when you called I mean lady built this up like it was the most amazing beautiful place to stay price was cheap but there was no heat and theres a tiny heater she smart clean they didnt bring you towels you couldnt get ice from the ice machine it was always they need to upgrade their they need to upgrade their Hotel up to standards it needs an upgrade
Crackhead stole all the light bulbs in the room and then the shower was clogged from the night before so I had to start the day without a shower.
False advertisement. Room looks nothing. Like on the picture way to over priced would’ve been better off in a motel 6. No air-conditioning. Placing people in wrong rooms that they didn’t book. My 12 year old said this was the worst motel we’ve been in. If I could give you zero stars I would.
Welp. There was no air conditioner, nor a fan, it was so hot and muggy in our room that we left. The window didnt have a screen so we couldnt use it. We didnt even stay - not at all. We drove home instead. Also, folks hanging in the parking lot--- they lived there I guess.
We have stayed there two times so far, it is nice to be close to three grocery stores. The hotel is almost in the middle of town and close to the beach. The service was good but they were busy with a remodel and we got our own towels. There are no closets but that was not an issue for us. Also there is no ac, but again not an issue for us. The staff was great and they welcomed our 2 esa animals. We will be staying again.
Stayed on tuesday night. Front desk guy was helpful and lively. The room was well taken care of for the price, no obvious damage or other issues. No AC wasn’t the greatest but it’s fine. Good place.
Very clean, quickly received keys and good amount of space.
The rooms were decent, but the lady that helped us was so accommodating. My mom and I had to stay there for a few weeks before our home was ready, and it was a very comfortable stay. Quiet for the most part. The room I was in had a tv but wasn’t hooked up, so it was just for decoration? And no iron in the rooms either, other than that it was alright.
The price was affordable and the staff was very friendly, walking distance to Fred Meyer and a pizza parlor next door. The reason for only three stars we ran out of hot water after 10 minutes and had to finish my shower with cold water and my husband didnt get to take a shower. The bathroom sink leaked and the bed was way to soft and not enough towels and the room needed a fresh coat of paint the walls were dirty
Room was nothing like the picture. Broken cabinets, half broken fridge, dirty walls with handprints and shoes prints, TV didn’t work. Obnoxious loud neighbors yelling up and down the hallways at midnight. No extra blankets or pillows, because they don’t have extra I guess. What hotel doesn’t have extra linen.
The room was okay. The person outside our room looking in our window was not. Also, our friend book another room. His reservation was canceled by the hotel, without notice. When I was canceling a reservation it was easy, but the refund process was very hard and I was given the run around. At first I was told I would receive a refund in 3 to 4 business days. After not receiving the refund, I spoke with the new manager and he said he would talk to regional manager and slammed the phone down. Then I received a phone call from the front desk and was told the OYO corporation had to refund me and that it would be 2 to 4 weeks for my refund. This is unacceptable to me.
Was one of the cheapest places we could find that didnt look awful. Room I stayed it had a odd smell but aside from that everything inside was clean. The walls werent very sound proof and Im not sure how great their security was since their were some people sleep in the car of their parking lot. Not a great place but certainly not bad.
A great value with a comfortable bed and secure location. Wonderful front desk staff, Thank-you Becca !
Over priced for a room that was stuffy and hot with only one window. The next morning maids were rude and in a hurry to push us out as we packed up our stuff and loaded the car. Manager and wife were nice but would not stay there again.
Worse hotel Ive stayed at, at the beach. Loud at 11pm to 3am. No clean blanket has stains on it that could easily come off if washed. mini fridge is dirty on the outside obvious it could of been cleaned and our toilet got gloged and no one here to help.
This Is a low class hotel the managers and the staff are completely rude one of the staff members was teasing about stealing my 1700$ custom beach cruiser bike and that night my bike and a ladder off the top of my truck were good stolen. The manager is very aggressive and rude said theres a lot of methods that are homeless and run around here I dont know what to tell you about your bike and I said well I can see my letter behind your maintenance guys fence and he refused to get the ladder or let me get the ladder then called the cops on us and kicked us out I dont understand their policies of the way that they treat people and everybody is respectful and then after I left the hotel he texted me a very aggressive message calling me human waste.
Sorry, but the room, end room in the block on ground floor, had musty smell and high humidity. Not pleasant. Told the receptionist about it the next morning. Otherwise the room would have been ok.
Window screen missing, room not petsafe. No towelbars at vanity.Rates changed from week to week.No air conditioning in room as promised on website. IMO, false advertising charges should be filed.
So yeah this place is a one star but we had an ok stay the street noise is loud but is better at night. the room seemed clean. the tv was a mess but got it to mostly work with out the remote .the direct number to the office is disconnected so we were concerned about having a room when we got here around nine oclock pm but everything was fine ..if you are looking for a low priced room this place is ok .. everything you expect from a bargain motel.. no better no worse..P.S we only stayed one night
Very clean and friendly. Very large rooms, motel next door was noisy and there were lights shining through the not so efficient dark room curtains. To he light made it uncomfortable and it was hard to sleep. Beds are soft, if you like that. Price is very reasonable, nice hot water and great water pressure.
If I could give it negative reviews, would definitely do so. We made a booking for 3 rooms on a long weekend and no one was available to check-in at 11 PM. We waited there for half an hour and were on the call with OYO support call, bit all that person could do was offer a refund but we were stuck with hour family in middle of the night looking for rooms to sleep in on a long weekend when room availability is rare. This is bit a reliable place to stay, and just a refund for such situation doesn’t cut it! @OYO. - Terrible customer service. I would definitely spread the word in my social network so that on one else end up in such situation!
My room smelled of mold or old carpet. No where to hang your clothes. Area around hotel was dirty and a very old trailer was parked sideways in parking lot.Good sides was the rooms were pretty big and had a good size fridge. Equipped with microwave and good size tv.
The responsible was very nice, and willing to assist even after office hours.Room clean, with all needed personal care:Towels, shampoo, condition, lotion etc.The directions worked good. Thank you!
Alongside Highway 101, the room given to me was noisy in the early evening. When I entered the room, what greeted me was a funky smell of the stale air. No place to hang my coat. Initially the room looked relatively clean, but stains on the bathtub and some black dots on the bed sheet told me not so. Only three small face soap bars were provided. No shampoo or shower gel was provided like other motels or inns. Very disappointed! They had Wi-Fi with strong signals but the front desk lied to me they didnt have one. On Google Maps or the hotel booking agencies websites, you can see Free Wi-Fi. Overall, if you just need a place to stay for one night at slightly cheaper price, this may be your choice. If you look for a pleasant stay, you need to go somewhere else.
Do be warned the photos online posted by booking companies are not at ALL what the rooms look like, but they are cozy, clean, and the manager and receptionist are helpful and very friendly! our stay so far has been fine :)
The young man at the front was super friendly and helpful and got us into 2 rooms last minute. These are probably the cheapest rooms around the area and are still clean and comfortable and with great customer service
When arriving into the room. There is no area to hang coats. The fridge was not plugged in and I had to move the heavy TV stand to unplug the lamp in order to plug in the fridge. The floor was dirty. When asking for new towels- they were out of towels. The coffee maker was dirty and also does not work. Front desk said there is no coffee available and she does not have access to housekeeping. WiFi is out until Monday but after reading reviews - a month ago someone wrote the same about the towels and the WIFI. Sounds like owners don’t care or don’t know the employees are not doing their jobs.
Room was not clean when we arrived. Also we were only provided three towels as a family of four when we asked for a couple more towels we were told the housekeepers were gone and the front desk had no access to linens. On top of being harassed by another tenant by rocks being thrown at our room door as well as threatening to assault my husband. I’m sure staff is doing the best they can but would not stay again.
Rooms are remodeled but hot and stuffy. One window with a broken screen 😞 So close to the noisy traffic. Made a reservation with a man from India. Upon arrival we discovered that the owners live in another country and had bought several motels in Newport and operate under the name of OYO so you cannot call this hotel directly for reservation. Took me over an hour to check in and get our room key. We would never stay here again!
Tacky, tiny rooms. Pictures on the booking site were VERY misleading..Has a frozen in the 1960s feel, only modern looking thing in the room is the bolted-down TV, however the Gideon Bible is of course in immaculate condition.. Rooms reek of cleaning chems. The clientele are pretty shady, place reeks of cigarettes outside..The front counter staff seem pretty decent and helpful though.[edit] after staying a night here, this is bar-none the worst hotel we have ever stayed at.I dont know if they cater to section 8 clients or what, but theres no way those were tourists or spring break kids. All night - either dogs barking in the rooms, people smoking and making noise on the balcony and lot, and then other people screaming at them to shut up.Shower was pathetic, no pressure, and mold growing on the caulking.By 4:00am I was thinking we ended up in Gresham rather than Newport.Did not sleep at all, and will never return.
Not too bad, hotel looks pretty rough with the fencing around half of it. I was told by the staff and other sources that it had a fire caused by a guest, older hotels dont usually have modern fire prevention installed until something like this happens. Definitely on the vintage side on the inside, room had a view of the junk pile in the lot behind. This hotel offers weekly rates for longer stays which is decent but does attract some strange types no doubt. Was not a big fan of the local homeless that seem to congregate around the place either. But overall it is a decent value. I recommend the large chain budget hotel across the bridge, for 10 bucks more a night you get a better experience for sure. In a pinch its fine though.
This location is supposed to smoke free but there were cigarette butts on the stair way up to the room and the walls are very thin as well. The room and bathroom were clean, however.
Smallest room I have ever stayed in. Not clean and definetely not private. The road noise was atrocious. Would not recommend staying here. Would have been better to stay in my truck.
Ridiculous rates especially for long term stayers who have to supply their own toiletries and take theyre linens to the laundromat themselves. By Freddys, Walmart, Taco Bell, and a bank on 101. Not tooooo far from the beach.
It was awful!! Dogs having playtime at midnight to 2am...right above your head. Staff not caring. Sketchy ppl in the parking lot and dog poop on almost every piece of green about. Should have slept in my car.
Manager woke up for late arrival with good attitude.. fridge was sitting on small round table so it leaned n drained water ..but nothing our 2 towels couldnt handle lol..other than that room is about 15 minutes from beach..very quiet location granite its on busy road..
I reserved two rooms here in July for my boyfriends birthday weekend and I was disgusted by the hotel. The first thing that I noticed was the pile of shopping carts in the parking lot. Strange.... On the way up to our rooms the hall way smelled of rotting fish and urine (I almost puked every time). The carpet in the hallway was held together with duct tape and cardboard. The rooms were not very clean and very out dated. There was no air conditioning like stated in the room review and also no screen in the window, so we couldnt even open it to cool off or listen to the ocean. if these werent the only rooms available, I would have left. This hotel is a $30.00 a night room, not a $160.00 a night room. Disgusting!
We had a really great time in a clean and freshly remodeled room. Super nice for the price. Totally would stay again. Great staff.
Been here since January 18th not a single person has been to my room to clean it or bring me towles, clean sheets, or toilet paper. I have had to go to the laundromat and buy clean sheets because still today January 28th i still havent received anything and not a single person has come to my room to clean it or anything. But For the price I geuss its what you get but before you stay here this is what you get for your money. So you get tv, bed, clean sheets and towels for maybe two nights, microwave, coffee maker, desk and chair. But what you dont get is daily cleaning your rooms, providing toilet paper, clean towels and bed sheets, and someone who is in the office available to provide assistance to your customers. Also their wifi apparently is down and when I look online and read other reviews their internet has been down for over 2 months now. If your in a pinch and need a shower and a 1 night stay your maybe good but dont advise staying here
Nice rooms great people work. Got a lot of rest and 🌞
I’ve stayed at Newport Inn many times. I know I’m always safe there. The managers John and Marie are very friendly and kind! It’s a old hotel but kept up nice & clean! That’s the place I’ll stay when I need a place to stay ☺️
The room stinks so bad of pee, it makes you sick. The floor is gross. The beds are stained and broken and the smell makes you gag. Windows were not locked. Mold around the window casings.I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. Maybe when the part that is in the process of being remoled opens. It may be better. Dont waste your money on this place. You will not get it back.
The room was clean. Good for the price. Wifi wouldnt connect to phones or other devices. Tv channels kept going in and out. No one came to replenish towels and other items used from day to day. Probably wont stay there again unless Im in a pinch. Having to leave early every morning no one was at the desk to talk to. Fair rate for what we got.
Everything was filthy. Paint was peeling everywhere. Front Dess lady was super mean horrible place to stay only thing you’re gonna get there is some STD or a needle stuck in you.
The first room we got had stains on the pillows and sheets. When I tried to call front desk the phones were not working, so I had to go downstairs and tell the manager. He gave us another room with a king size bed, which was nice, but the bed was hard as a rock and the neighbors were incredibly loud all through the night. The room itself was freezing cold as the heater didnt seem to be working.
Overall nice experience. Bathroom has heat lamps & excellent showers with a tall shower head. There were only a couple wall outlets in the room but there was AC. Maid service wasnt great because I found fake eyelashes from a previous customer in the room, as well as hand prints all over the window.
Although the room is kind of small, I had no issue cuz I had what I needed, namely heater, fridge and microwave oven, and most of all I had a very refreshing rest!
Very nice simple but clean rooms. Friendly staff
They had bed bugs in their beds and they wouldnt get rid of them or treat the room so I left that was one of the reasons I left the other reason was because my son was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. I left Newport September 13th in hopes to be back within 2 weeks but as luck would have it I was stuck in the valley because my son was sent home to die on hospice he died December 25th of 2021 he was 37 years old not even old enough to die but yes you want my opinion it used to be a nice place to stay but the managers there now Cece is a real piece of work she doesnt belong where shes at but thats okay should get hers in the end
We arrived a day early according to our reservation at the Waves. I dont know if the error was mine or OYO. However it was 9pm during spring break. John was working front desk and he had no open rooms. He made several calls and found us a room for the night at the Newport Inn. The office desk was already closed for the night at the Newport Inn but John got permission to close the desk at the Waves for a few minutes and go check us in at the Newport Inn. He took the time to check our room before he left to be sure it was clean and ready for guests. He went above and beyond what he had to do and did it with a great attitude. The room at the Newport Inn was clean and was a bed for the night. I would not book a week here but it was a safe clean room for the night.
Coulda of had a door on bathroom was good a person in wheelchair had just left understandable had a great stay otherwise
Had family here for a wedding. Some made the mistake of staying at Newport Inn. The rooms smelled horrible, had bugs, and non functional air units with exposed live copper wires. The manager had a horrible attitude when informed of the issues, and would not discount. Not worth it.
First of all this is a Motel not a 2 star hotel as listed. Everything looked awesome for the price online. The room was clean but our window was next to a main traffic area and the door had a space under the door. Giving us no feeling of privacy. No AC as advertised, the towels given were the size of a large hand towel, the bed didnt even have a fitted sheet, and the service was nothing impressive. At check-in I waited for a half an hour for someone to come help me as the desk was just unattended and the house keeping staff werent friendly what so ever. If youre looking for a last minute quick one night go ahead. Never would I come here again for my vacation, I expected something more luxurious but the information online they post is false. I honestly felt I could have spent less money for a better room at a Motel 6.
We picked this hotel, at a medium price compared to others, and it was horrible! Pictures online are VERY misleading. It smelled like mold, the room was so small it barely fit a queen bed and the room was freezing when we got there. It took well over 2 hours for the floor heaters to heat up the room (to where it barely took the chill off) and the thermostat was pulled off the wall, barely hanging on. If you want a DECENT room to stay in, don’t pick this place. We found a much better hotel down the road for $15 less a night.
Better than my expectation, I had a great experience. Not a 4 or 5 star hotel, and on the older side, and the bed uncomfortable as is every hotel bed, but clean, bug free, and the front desk ladys help was very appreciated. More customer service than i needed, room was equipped with a microwave & fridge, and hot water plentiful at a decent price for a busy summer saturday night. We will be staying again in the future
I had to clean the room before I could stay here. The room was filthy dirty. Sink leaked from the first day, no one ever came to fix it. No one ever in the office. No cleaning services for clean towels or sheets. Ill never recommend this motel to anyone and I will not say anything good about this filthy motel.
The room had exposed outlets and holes in the ceiling.
Very good location. Rooms are big and homely for extended stays. No vagrants bothering you here. Prices are much lower about 100$ difference from other competitors. Beds are firm. No odor to my room besides my work boots. I do recommend this place.
Found this place last minute while going through a hard time. Made the reservation an hour before I got there. front desk was super nice! Room was clean and neat and comfortable. Had to leave a night early and they were super understanding. Great for the price!
The worse experience I have had so far. Check in personnel was nice, but not trained properly, morning check out person not so much. was charged twice. is impossible to get anyone on the phone to resolve the issue and get the extra charge on my card back.
On vacation we stayed here in Newport. Absolutely the best service! Rooms were comfortable, clean and quiet. Location is great with shopping and food in walking distance. We enjoyed our stay here. Autumn, the front desk assistant, was the best, so sweet, knowledgeable of area attractions, just an amazing girl. We felt this was an excellent choice and great value for the buck. Highly recommend!
The only thing pleasant was the staff... they should consider ac in all rooms, paint all exterior walls, and simple breakfast items would be a good touch
We had a good time here…everything was good. Strongly recommend spacious room with a fairly affordable price. 👍Kudos
Very disappointed. Was not told that some buildings don’t have air/heat and felt unsafe leaving window open with the high foot traffic in the area. Very overpriced for conditions of hotel and room. Do not recommend.
PROS: The rooms were spacious, clean and very affordable. The bed was comfortable and the shower was nice. Housekeeping were friendly. Pet friendly but they will charge you $15 a night for your pet.CONS: The breakfast leaves a LOT to be desired. The coffee isnt the greatest, no liquid creamer, very limited choices. They actually encourage you to go somewhere else if you want breakfast. (Minus 1 star)The owners (an older man & woman). She was nice and friendly. The older man seemed off his meds because his behavior was unwelcoming and mean. He would give you a guilty feeling just by looking at you. It was enough for me to mention in this comment. (Minus 1 star)OVERALL: If you need a cheap, affordable place that is clean, I recommend this place. If you want a decent breakfast, try the other places... I purchased this place over the other choices thinking I was going to get a modest breakfast setup like most places. I was mistaken. This is as fair and unbiased as I can make this review. :-)
The room smelled like urine. It had poop stains on the comforter. Doors would not lock. They did not vacuum under the bed for at least 5 years. They had paper laying up against the baseboard heater. There was a bottle of something under the bed. Do not stay here.
Definitely older hotel. Rusty and hardly maintained. Rooms are clean though and the bed works. Price is very reasonable but threats from hotel staff is about losing room if not here early, about fines for lying to them or being asked to leave are pointless and not very customer oriented. All in all fine for a bed but not a first choice hotel.
The room was clean and nice. The manager was negative about the ownership, which was very alarming. No coffee available at the front desk, which opened late. The stay was fine tho.
Even though not all of my funds were available I had prof funds would be in by 8 am then next day due to computer glitch at credit union is was almost unable to stay. But at least I had a son inlaw near that covered me. So I was able to stay i should never have to rely on someone else when there is proof.
If youre looking for a horrible place to stay and dont care about customer service this is the place for you! If you like being kept wake all night by homeless people and call the front desk and complain they chattering and swearing all night. This is the place for you! If you like walking on gross and nasty worn out capret. This is the place for you! If you like having huge dogs barking right out door and customer service doesnt do a thing about it for 4 hours. This place is for you! If youre into cold drafts sneaking in around the whole door frame. This is the place for you! I found nothing nice and relaxing in this motel. Nor have any kind words to say about it!
Ive been here since the end of March and have been doing reservations month by month. I have not had an issues with doing this until now. My reservation was canceled by the motel but is still paid for. No one can tell me why it was canceled although it is still active.
Upon checkin, we were checked into the wrong room. We booked a double queen and the guy at the front desk checked us into a single king. Went back down the stairs and to the office and after about another 5 minutes, they finally got us in the right room. The entire room we got was horrible and filthy. The carpeting was worn and gum was pounded down into it. Long black hairs were found in the shower and on the door. Bathroom floor was filthy and had not been cleaned. Used Qtips were on the floor as well as someone elses pills they had previously dropped. The one little window we had looked directly onto another unit. When the door to the unit was closed, you could see sunlight all the way around it and at the bottom, a good inch of daylight came through. We would have left and demanded our money back if everything else in the area had not been sold out. I will NEVER go to a Knights Inn again just because of this experience. This was supposed to be a special bucket list trip for my 89 year old mother and this really soured the entire trip.
If I could give them a zero, or negative score, I would. The owner and the manager is a crook and a theif. He was unintelligent, obstinate and out right rude as they come. Short tempered. We were charged double for our room and he would not help us fix the problem or solve the issue. He just kept ignoring us as we spoke to him; he would simply ask the other customers if they needed help blatantly being rude to us and refusing to solve the situation at hand.Do not stay here ever unless you want to be treated like a piece of crud. Micha Bs review below could not be more right.
Didnt get a chance to even stay here... caught a flight at 6 am from Florida, made it to Newport around 630 pm, reserved my room at 2, they canceled at 3 with no phone call or email. Blamed it on over booking but I took video of the 10 cars in the lot... ridiculous!! And extremely inconvenient when traveling with a 6 year old
OK place to stay. The other reviews mentioned smell of smoke, we didnt have that problem, they seem to be remodeling, there is a sign on the desk that says no smoking since march. Clean and comfortable enuf for the price. We booked on Expedia and it said room with a view dont expect a beach view, look at the map, we did get a big window that didnt look at traffic or another house or window, just bushes and grass. Good enuf.
Here for the Seafood Wine Festival. Arrived to check in and was put in a room that reeks of mold and cigarette smoke. Unfortunately it aggravated my asthma. When I asked the manager Jerry if there was any rooms left he informed me no. I would like to mention that if you look on Expedia he did have a room left. When we asked if everyone is checked in hoping to have our room switched he informed us is a rude tone - thats none of your business. Jerry continue to be demeaning, unfriendly and unhelpful on a weekend he knows that rooms are unavailable. When I asked for his Manager he informed me that he was not going to give me that information. I told him I could look it up , which he informed me was a threat. He also informed us hes a Christian - and that people shouldnt drink. A - he slandered us - we were not drunk and hadnt had anything in over 2 hours. B - 3/4 of his business this weekend is from the Seafood and Wine Festival. He was rude, surely, the rooms stunk, were dirty. And Jerry, the Christian loves to make women cry. Classy place. Avoid at all cost!!!! Happy ending for us, the Shilo after hearing our saga - found a room for us.
Rooms did not look like photos online. Bedding was scratchy. Rooms were loud. Location was not near the beach.
The owner/operator of this location is great, stern and helpful keeps the place running well. Excellent rooms for the price for sure! Definitely booking a room.
Front desk staff was very friendly. The room was small but had everything we needed for a quick overnight stay.
The place was very convenient. The prices are very good and the room was clean. The refrigerator was a bit on the noisy side and oddly enough the hot and cold water reversed in the sink. I would stay there again
The room was smelly, including the bedding and not clean at all. Cigarettes fallen to the floor by the entertainment center and never cleaned up. Trash from previous guests under the bed along with the TV remote. No window screens so if you open the windows for fresh air to escape the smell you deal with bugs. Not enough parking and Jerry the desk clerk is a very poor communicator. He even got so frustrated and lost his temper with out mild mannered travel companions when they complained about the condition of their room that he threw them off the property. We will not be back. Do think for a second that all the bad reviews you will find are just snobby picky people. This place is awful and Jerry needs to go.
Decently priced. Great location next to shopping and excellent restaurants. Reasonably comfy beds. Showers arent so great and the walls are pretty thin. We stayed in the older section so newer part may be better.
Costumer service was absolutely appalling. had a reservation for 3 months in advance and when we arrived they told us the room had been thrashed and we couldn’t stay there. they had no availability and DIDNT notify us about the room. we drove 166 miles for NOTHING on fourth of july weekend.
Front desk gal super accommodating and friendly. Great location and surprisingly quiet for being right on 101.
Nice room..however..very dirty.Great location..No phone or ice bucket in room and a little on the spendy side for what it was...
No one at the front desk for over a hr then the power went out my last night there so I had no power or heat that last night there
The first night was LOUD but that isnt the fault of anyone but the jerk being loud. The room was clean and perfect for us.He proposed this weekend, so we will definitely be back 😍
They were great, fast and efficient. I would highly recommend them for a cheap couple of nights on the beach. Conviently located and easy to find. The room was a little small but very clean and tidy.
Woman at front desk was nice enough to give us a refund. We walked in to see a spider on the wall, multiple ants, stained pillow cases, hairs on the blanket, no screens on the window , used bar of soap in the shower. The room snelled bad as well. We just felt totally creeped out and could not stay the night there
We had a great stay, thank you!
It was very clean, pets were inexpensive, its perfectly positioned by food stores, clothing stores, restaurants and a very nice scenic route to the beach or it can take you to the bay front and miss all the traffic! I will diffenatly visit this motel again.
We book a room for later this month, a few months ago. We had some questions about our stay and regular our dogs and fees for pets we call th phone number listed on the website and it says phone not in service from reading past reviews about this motel it seems like a dump.
DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR MONEY!!!!They are greedy and will steal from you. They are not pet friendly and the staff is extremely rude. They do not care about you all they want is your money. I am not sure how the General Manager got her job because she has no idea what customer service is. She is very mean and has zero empathy. If you want to be treated like an actual human being, this is not the place for you!! If I could give zero stars on here, I would.
Great location great room service great people
OYO IS THE PROBLEMThe Property was just fine if old with paper thin walls, but you get what you pay forAND OYO WILL CHARGE YOU MORE THAN THE CONFIRMED AMOUNT AND ACT LIKE THE PRICE WASNT CHANGED EVEN WITH PROOFI WILL NEVER STAY AT AN OYO PROPERTY AGAIN
My little sister was horrified because of a staff member looking into our window before knocking on our door around midnight and accusing us for our dogs having multiple noise complaints (even though they were going potty on the tiny area considered a pet relief area) and telling us “one more complaint and we’re gone” while dogs a few rooms down bark at any noise outside their room
Clean room, felt safe and staff was nice too. Free Pastries and coffee in the am.. NO lock box safe in room. Micro and small fridge is in room. And only. 60 a night. Good deal
Have a small dog with us, so I assumed we would get a pet smelling room, but this room smelled terrible. Despite being tired already looking forward to check out. Would not recommend without several cans of fabreeze.
DO NOT STAY HERE! The guy that answers the phone is incredibly rude. You can’t ask him anything, he will talk over you, doesn’t and won’t listen and frankly doesn’t care. If he is not the owner they need to let him go. If he is then he needs to sell. He does more harm to this place then any room or service could. Once there I got to meet the rude gentleman, and as expected he is not any more nice in person. I have never been anyplace that cares so little about their guests then this place. There are lots of places to stay in Newport, do yourself a favor and don’t stay here.
Would have been a five star, but hair dryer missing and desk didnt reopen till 10am
Room was very clean. Beds were comfortable. LOVED that my room had no carpeting.
Just called to get some info to stay here and the older gentleman on the phone did know if they offered any type of breakfast. He started getting short when I asked about staying for a week and if they gave any discounts. The man says they only offer the 20% discounts for week stays but dont include weekends and only have certain rooms. Well if you dont include weekends, then how do you get your week of stay.
The location of the Inn is convienant to food and shopping. The room I stayed in had three beds but it felt like i was staying in the closet. The fire alarm was missing and one of the lamps was broken also had issues with kids upstars banging and running. The person who was running the place is vary polite and helpef to fix most of the issues that I had. If i was to rate this hotel a star it would be a 1
They left me alone helped when needed I like
John who runs the motel is absolutely without a doubt the greatest man Ive ever met he deserves a great big raise and the housing staff is A number one I will recommend your motel to everyone I know when they go to Oregon best time Ive ever had
Had a great time there, the service was excellent. The one bed bedrooms are spacious and nice. The two bed is also spacious, a bit dated but not bad by any means
Nice, clean, comfortable rooms with lots of space to move around. The management was awesome and accommodating, and we will definitely be back!
Bed was un made. Smelled of cigarettes. And VERY thin walls. Shower did not drain, so showered standing in still water.
We were in Newport for a get together with family and friends and were very pleased with our stay at the Knights Inn. We found the property to be very clean and quite. We stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed the friendlyservice we received. Would stay again next time we are back in Newport!!
We staid in a deluxe room, and my wife found cigarette burns on the BED SHEETS!!! IT WAS DISGUSTING, especially cause we have a 5 month old girl. We use our own blankets instead and couldnt sleep all night!
Some of the room have a heavy smell of smoke the others smell of mildew. For the price I guess thats what you can expect. I had some friends that refused to stay in their room for fear of bed bugs so they chose to sleep in their car instead.
Bathroom/shower was not clean...... Floors were not clean, pubic hair all over floor and shower. 🤢😷😬😱Beds were comfortable and clean. Thank God . 😲Was super quiet and for the most part ok 🤔
High price for nothing. Few outlets. Plumbing leaked. Something hitting the side of hotel all night without weather. Beds were hard to sleep on. Cold and humid. Miserable place to stay.
Do not book with this hotel. I have documentation that advised I would not be charged for a cancellation fee if the reservation was cancelled before 6pm the day of the booking. I cancelled the day of before 5pm due to the Tsunami Advisory, I confirmed with a rep that I would not be charged as well as receiving and email confirming I would not be charged. I was charged anyways! I can’t even get ahold of anyone to dispute this that is local, it’s goes out to a foreign call center that told me they reached out the the property who is refusing my refund. They have more than one of these complaints on their BBB reviews. You will be scammed and will not be able to get ahold of anyone, BE AWARE.
Staff, office and housekeeping, really great! No wifi, but a great location. Excellent pizza place next door! And Fred Meyers across street:)
Location is good. Customer service is good. Rooms...hit and miss. Good WiFi.
Manager shes great, funny, understanding, but firm, all about the book.
My family of 6 stayed in the family room. Its clean, super friendly sercice, and very reasonably priced. This is our second time staying and wont be our last.
How do you give less than 1 star??? Disgusting motel. Yes, I know the slogen....you get what you pay for. Well, Im still waiting to get something...probably crabs. Room smelled terrible with sticky walls, doors, and chairs. Never again!
When you search out the least expensive place on the map you cant complain about quality too much but if you can afford an additional $10 or $15, its highly worth it as many places in Newport are substantial better for only a little bit more. Example: carpet so thin I cut my foot on the carpet tacks in the doorway!
It was affordable which was nice, awesome shower and very comfy bed! It was however surprisingly dirty, If not for that this place would have been a great place to stay for the money.
Rooms clean and spacious. The bed was a bit firm but pillows soft. Front desk was very nice and helpful!!
