This place is the worst! My husband and I have been members for about 17 years, and we are ready to cancel our membership. The staff turnover is very high, and the front desk staff are very unprofessional and they just dont care.Last month I had a stretch appointment at the Dedham location, which is part of this franchise. I had been seeing the same therapist for months, and he was great. I showed up for my scheduled appointment, and they told me he left. They never called to tell me. They also said they no longer had anyone to do stretch sessions at this location.So I switched to the Newton location. I called to make a 1 hour stretch appointment and they tell me they do not do 1 hour stretch sessions. I have had many 1 hour stretch sessions at Massage Envy over the years. So I book a 30 minute session.Today I had a 60 minute session booked, I showed up at the Newton location and they tell me that the therapist is gone. Again, no call to tell me! I tried calling 3 times this morning to confirm the appointment, and no one answered the phone.They ask me for my phone number and they look me up, no problem. So they have my phone number. Then they tell me they have a second phone number for me, and it is a number that I do not recognize, and is not mine.I am so disgusted with the lack of professionalism from this business! They are terrible!The response was pretty poor, they should be calling me to apologize, and address the problem.

The therapists have been fine, but there has been lot of turnover. There are many fewer therapists than before, so it is hard to get appointments to fit a working persons schedule without booking very far in advance. Consequently, I accumulated a lot of unused massages, and finally decided to cancel my membership. To do so, you must come in and fill out a termination form. All accumulated massages are lost and are not transferable, even to my wife. However, they make you wait 10 days for the termination to take effect from when the form is filled out. My billing day was 2 days from when I called, so Ill be charged for another unused massage. I cant get out of this fast enough. It may seem like a good deal, but it wasnt for me. If your schedule is very flexible and you dont care about having a long-term relationship with your therapist, it may work for you. There are better options.for most of us.

I went in today for a 90 minute massage with Pamela and she was wonderful. I have a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders and she did a great job of working out the kinks. I sometimes feel like I have to choose between working out the knots or relaxing during a massage and Pamela managed to do both and I left feeling like new. I’ll be back to see her!

My experiences at Massage Envy have always been positive. I know there have been problems with staff in the past, (what place doesnt have the occasional bad egg?) but their current Front Desk staff is so friendly and happy to help work through any questions you might have. They have a great range of therapists, and I always make sure to see as many different ones as I can so I know who I really take to. The manager is so friendly too!!! I used to pay over $100 for a 90 min massage, which is not that unusual...but this meant I could only get massages MAYBE once a year. With MEs affordable prices, Im able to go a lot more frequently to keep me healthy.

I have had many massages In my life and this had to be the worst. The therapist was very inexperienced with no technique. He used his thumbs for 90% of the massage. I was scheduled for 90 min hot stone massage and clearly the therapist had no idea what he was doing. I actually left feeling more tense than when I arrived and was thankful for it to end. The receptionist didn’t charge for the hot stone portion which I appreciate.

Just dont go. Dont. I am a Massage Envy member. I have been to many Massage Envys with universal great experiences until going to this Newton location. My therapist ran late. My therapist had no quality skills. My therapist could not even give firm pressure. Then when I told the front desk the massage was not very good they were rude to me and did not seem to care. If you want a massage, go to the Waltham or Arlington locations. I have used both many times. Both are GREAT. Just dont go to Newton.

Today for the third time, I tried booking an appointment, and all were two weeks or more away. I really like the two therapists I see but seldom get an appt. The staff who answered my call could barely conceal her impatience. Cost s raised despite signing on at a lower price, which should have been honored. Something feels off here. Searching for other places.

The customer service behind the desk went from bad to worse! Ive been a member for several years now and the previous staff was too busy chatting with frequent customers or each other to notice people waiting in line to be serviced. They are gone and now the woman on duty rolls her eyes and takes exasperated breaths when she is asked to provide a service that is part of her job: warm neck wraps for customers checking in, or making multiple appointments. Her affect is flat, her tone is rude, and this is supposed to be a luxurious experience.On a positive note, the massage therapists are great!

Only reason for 4 stars is because they need more massage therapists! It’s incredible hard to get an appointment unless you book 2 weeks ahead.

I have been going to Massage Envy in Newton for 3 years and have had a very positive experience. The staff behind the desk have been very professional and courteous. The therapists have been very skilled.

Misinformation about membership. Had to call numerous times for the manager to call me back. Would never recommend this place to anyone.The manager later resolved the issue .
