DELUX SMOKE SHOP

This smoke shop is doing some shady, illegal practices. I was attempting to buy a carton of Marlboro cigarettes and instead of the worker scanning the barcode that is on the carton, he went and grabbed a single pack of the same Marlboro carton I was attempting to buy and he proceeded to scan that single pack 10 times. The whole point of buying a carton is for the savings by buying in bulk. When you buy a carton youre supposed to be getting 10 packs of cigarettes for the price of 9 packs. What would be the point of buying an entire carton if there isnt an incentive of savings. The guy behind the counter (who I think is the owner) tried to tell me that the barcode on the carton is for the store, not for the customer. I know this is not correct and they should be sited for doing this. I explained all of this to him but he stood by what he was doing. I will be putting in a complaint to The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, and anyone else that deals with these types of business that scam their customers. I will also be writing reviews on here (google reviews), yelp, and the Better Business Bureau (BBB). This is not the first time this has happened at this establishment but the last time this happened I wasnt dealing with the owner of the business, just an employee who had no choice because as he informed me, the owner set this in place in a meeting with all of his employees. This is not the only type of shady practices that are happening at this establishment. I had a coupon for savings of a carton of Marlboro cigarettes for any of their different tobacco blends. On the coupon it stated that any establishment selling Marlboro products must honor this coupon and if they do not, they will be ticketed and fined. Ive been noticing that many other smoke shops and 7-Eleven establishments in Los Angeles have been operating in a similar shady fashion. I have noticed what all of these shops have in common are the owners 95% of the time are of Arab descent. They are ripping people off and most people dont have the extra time to put in a complaint and follow up to make sure the business is sited and fined for this fraudulent behavior. Deluxe Smoke Shop lost a customer today and I plan to pass the word on to everyone else in my neighborhood because I live right now the street from this business. The way this business is operating is unacceptable and I will be following up on this until they are fined or even worse. I know Marlboro will not be happy to hear that a number of business in the greater Los Angeles area are doing business in an untrustworthy and manipulative manner. I will be doing some research tonight to find out exactly who I need to report this type of deceitful practices because cigarettes are already too expensive and when we get the chance to get a little bit of savings, its always much appreciated by all tobacco users. Not only that, the lack of respect from the gentleman behind the counter while he attempted to turn everything on me alluding at the fact that I didnt know what I was talking about. It was offensive and he picked the wrong person to belittle and attempt to pull one over on. The $12 worth of savings I would have received would have cost him a lot less than the fines and other potential penalties this company is surely going to deal with in the upcoming weeks. Because I wont be dropping this until its been resolved. Delux Smoke Shop picked the wrong customer to mess with and now they are going to get whats coming to them, I promise you that!

No returns policy. I understand it’s a smoke shop for cleanliness reasons but it was a grinder in a box that was never opened. I tried to return it 15 minutes later after buying a superior one down the street for the same price. Don’t waste your time here go to Faded La smoke shop up the street.

The sales associate was nice, but it would have been nice if he’d given me receipts for my purchases, and also if he’d let me know there was a no returns policy. (Obviously for unused products). Not a bad shop, but definitely something to keep in mind when purchasing.

Really cool spot. I stumbled upon it while on a stroll and picked up all my favorite goodies lol. Honestly, would recommend.
