Beautiful local talent. Fun atmosphere. Huge venue.HOWEVER,Incredibly disappointed that OMC is now choosing to charge for water the day after a devastating storm that has left half of Omaha without power. We just got out of a week-long heatwave and it will not be the last one. Please re-evaluate, this decision could lead to unsafe drinking conditions. Dead patrons don’t tip.
I havent been to the Run since like 2011. When I moved down to Florida. It was defiantly the place to be for after hours. Last time I was there Terry was still alive. This place is a top shelf hole in the wall bar where everyone knows your name. It will always be a staple in the Omaha gay community.
Just had the most delightful experience here, on a quiet, summer Sunday night. Fun, sassy and incredibly genuine staff in a strange but lovingly eclectic space. Only me and two other customers. We all gathered around a corner bar and chatted about life etc etc etc. There for an hour and I left feeling like family. Wish I had more time to hang out with this crew. Shout out to the owner and bartender who were utterly wonderful. If I’m ever back in Omaha, I’ll be back. We need more spaces like this.
Stopped in last weekend the 21st. There was a drag show which really was not my thing. But had a few drinks and went on my way. Came back Saturday. Had a blast chatting with the locals. Listened to music. Was a great place to chill at. The bartender was quite entertaining!!
This place has a lot of potential, but it lacks organization and some remodeling. The space is enormous, which could be great. The arrangement of the chair, though, makes you feel like you are alone even when there are 15 people watching the show. It is also clear that the place has been kind of abandoned right after you enter the bar.
Last night was the first time I have ever been to the OMC. It was so much fun. The staff are friendly and amazingly helpful. They made me feel like it was not my first visit but that I was one of the regulars there. The owner even made it a point to come and warn me of the stairs because I was on crutches. He even kind of helped us get down to a table. Now about the performers. They were amazing. There were a few that have stood out in my mind. Whisky Red was very good. He knew his songs and was very interactive with the audience. Very fun. Then there was Torry Red. She was beautiful. To see here you would swear she is a real woman. She too is very interactive with the audience. She also knew her music very well. There was another one who I am sorry I can not seem to remember her name. She did the song Havan and was so energetic you got lost in the experience. They were all good but these three really stood out in my mind. Please make sure you check this place out. Go have fun and let them help you feel like your just part of the gang.Thank you OMC I had a great night and will be back again.
Circa 1989, Im an old school attendee. I was an insecure little girl, who didnt know who she was with her sexual orientation back then. I had a couple female roommates who were engaged, Kymm and Sue. They later broke up and I honestly dont have a clue if they got back together. They introduced me to their friends, one in particular is Sharon Tripp Brown, she had a young daughter named Sam (Samantha age 4+/- then). These woman showed me the best time at The Run and The Max. I was stoked to see after 28 years these places are still around. I moved back to KC after my several month adventure living in Omaha. We would frequent these places quite regularly. Im not sure if anything else was even available back then, Ive noticed there are a lot more choices on the map these days. I felt more comfortable in these bars than any bar Ive ever walked into. The people are so friendly, dancing and have a great chill time. Heterosexuals could really learn from this beautiful behavior. Id truly like to know how my old friends are doing?! If anyone knows of Tripp or Kymm or Sue...I know these names must be very vague, but I had to give it a shot. I havent seen or talked to them in 28 years and would truly like to know how theyre doing. If someone reads this and knows them, please show them. These are old school dykes, in their fifties, and Im guessing Tripp is still around, and if thats true, everyone knows her or of her. TIA I hope this works! Call me, Tripp! Im not conceited, Im convinced. - Tripp circa 1989 I stopped by the other day, I had family with me so I didnt go inside. I gathered from the outside that its still the same great local dive bar that you love.
I love this bar! Its great for drag performers, and also just fun to have a drink at. The bartenders are great and everyone is friendly!
This is my favorite gay bar in omaha. Cheap drinks, no cover charge, lots of space in the back, and the drag shows are always top notch.
Under new management...Everyone I have met that works there makes you feel welcome.there are some great events in the downstairs bar each month as well.
Staff was great. Great service. Needs to be cleaned up a bit. And we went to see DRAG show. Ended up seeing a strip show. Disappointed in that.
I love the atmosphere and the people of this bar!!! Joe the owner and Mark the main bartender are totally amazing people!!! Love you guys!!! Miss you much!!!
My youth would not have been the same with out this place and after hours. I have good and bad memories here ..but that is life. Great staff. And a great place to make new family .Miss this place .
The ONLY GREAT gay bar in Omaha. Awesome staff. Friendly environment!
Bartender and I are the only people in the bar. He has been sitting on a bar stool behind the bar the whole time! Zero interaction. I would NOT suggest coming to this dying bar. SAD!
