This was such a nice bar! It was large and spacious and had doors or large windows opened to the outside, so you felt like you were a part of whatever was happening in the courtyard. Worth a visit!
This place is alright except for all of the Creighton law students completely ruining your experience.
Bar wasnt cleaned well. Bartender wasnt paying lots of attention, even though it was empty. They have a lot of good TVs so decent place to watch a game.Surprised they didnt have Smithwicks on tap.
Great Irish pub atmosphere of food and service
Great atmosphere, but Id lower the cover charge at nights. $15/pp is a little steep especially under Bidenomics
My besties 21st!!!! Except our other friend got denied because they declared his ID fake. Really put a damper on the night when we had to walk around trying to find another bar to go to. Maybe look into better ways of deciphering a real ID from a fake rather than using a phone flashlight. Was really excited to celebrate there!
This place was fun for the event they held for co responders
Drinks and bartenders were amazing! DJ switched songs every 30 seconds. Song choices were good but I could not enjoy the songs because he would change songs so quickly. Love to dance but couldnt because he switched so much.
Real disappointing. Just because you line a shelf going around your wall with 200+ bottles of Jameson doesnt make you an Irish bar. What bar doesnt serve Jameson? Theres nothing that Irish about this place, just expensive, fake and pretentious. My friend and I each ordered a shot and they served them to us in plastic cups. Really? Youre charging $9 a shot and you serve it in plastic cups, even though you could see nice shot glasses behind the bar. Must just be for decoration. The music was like at any other loud bar and definitely not Irish. Wont go back and waste my $ here again. Just give me a good ol Omaha neighborhood bar. We have plenty of good local, genuine Irish bars around here too that are not a corporate, fabricated Irish format. This place will probably not last long
Bring two forms of ID! The bouncer claimed my ID was fake, broke it in half, placed my ID in his pocket and told me I could leave or go to the police. I chose the police so I could get my legit ID back. The bouncer was extremely aggressive during the situation. He did say “sorry” after the police declared my ID legit, however it really put a damper on the mood. The only reason I am giving two stars is because the manager was reasonable and apologetic about the situation and is willing to reimburse me for a new ID.
I like the overall vibe of Annies Irish Pub in Omaha. The decor is cool and timeless, with all kinds of Irish stuff up on the walls and portraits and maps and beer ads/mirrors, etc. The music Ive found upbeat and enjoyable and not too loud to drown out conversations. And they have DJs on the weekends or Thursday nights. Ive enjoyed the bartenders there, the beer is cold, great alcohol selections and the bathrooms are clean. The furniture and seating is classy and comfortable as well. This is definitely a place to check out in Omaha. Oh also the patio is enormous, opening up to a very large courtyard with jumbo TV for special events.
Over staffed and under trained. I was in a group of six at a table and we never got waited on. If we wanted a round of drinks we had to go to the bar to get them as 3-4 waitresses stood at the corner of the bar with 4 working behind it.Also Ive never been to an Irish bar that served Guinness in a plastic cup. Definitely not on my list of places to go. I wish them the best of luck, from the lack of responses to all the negative reviews Annies is going to need it.
First time experience: I look young so I’m not surprised I got ID’d a second time, but it was very aggressive by to have my ID looked at a second time by a guy in a suit without any badge; I wasn’t even aware he worked there. When I asked he bartender about whether I could find him so I could talk to him about how it was slightly aggressive in the way he approached me, a different bartender then told me I was ‘giving the other bartender trouble.’ I’m pretty easy going. I get that I look young, but the customer service was poor at best, and entirely aggressive. My Minnesota ID is one of the most difficult to fake, so even though I went through second ID process, I was questioned aggressively to the point where it wasinsulting. When I attempted to simply talk to the bartender about how I could help the company not aggressively pursue legal drinkers, I was told that I was a problem. They’re entirely unreceptive to constructive criticism, and being that it is a new bar, that’s a problem for their future success. I get it, I look young. But the suited guy’s “100 fake ID’s” he talked about from the weekend before does not deserve a callousness from a new bar. It’s not tough to ask for my ID without me becoming frustrated. Back to the bartender that wouldn’t help me find the guy who aggressively questioned me, I left because I was told I was the problem. This was my first experience there. I’m a positive person but I have nothing but negative words to say about this experience. Thinking about going there for CWS? Save your cover and the troubles, it’s not worth it.
Went there with some coworkers on a Sunday night it was dead and quiet we were the only customers in there, after we order our drinks, the bartender went and talked to our other two friends who are gay and said last time u were in here u made a few of our male customers uncomfortable. he said they were being too touchy feely... Whether it being on the actual customers or with each other i dont know. But thats besides the point, i felt it was disrespectful and made my friends uncomfortable. We all work downtown in hospitality and wanted to check out the capitol district so we could give our guest recommendations and well to say the least I will not recommend anyone to go to this place.
Edit: Been here a few more times now. The environment feels nice now that Annies been established. The staff is friendly and offer excellent service. The bar is pretty fast on delivering drinks. I would come here more often.
Annie’s Irish Pub is one of the best bars in Omaha. I love ALL the managers, bartenders, bar backs, and bouncers! They always make me feel like home. I appreciate you all!
My friends and I decided to try out the new Capitol District and our first impression was absolutely awful. We were a group of three 26 year old, SOBER women; and we walked up to the bar to order our first drink. Unfortunately, we were greeted by the bartender, Derrick, who obviously despises his job, his customers and women. We ordered vodka sodas, and my friends ordered two different shots (a Jager Bomb and a Vegas Bomb). Derrick proceeded to tell us that he will pour us two Jager Bombs, but not two different shots. When we asked him why, he told us that he was sick of girls ordering different drinks all the time, and refused to pour us our separate shots. At this point, I was pretty offended and got argumentative with Derrick. He told us that it was just too busy to cater to our order and walked away. Ive worked in bars/restaurants most of my adult life, and I would never speak to a customer the way Derrick was speaking to us. When I caught Derricks attention again, I asked him what his problem was, and told him it was his job to pour drinks as hes a BARTENDER. He looked at me, told me to grow up and put his hand about one inch in front of my face, acting like he was going to push me away. Derrick also said I know your type, let me guess you all want to pay separate?, making assumptions about us. After this, I watched Derrick tend to a group of guys and poured them multiple different drinks with a smile on his face. I found a manager who was wonderful...he apologized for Derricks behavior and offered us free drink coupons. When I walked up to the bar to use the coupons, a different bartender refused to accept them and said she didnt know anything about these, eventhough her manager signature was on the bottom. For being a new bar downtown, Annies really needs to fire the trash bartenders they have now, and start preparing for the REAL busy times during the CWS. A bar that treats their customers this way will lose popularity fast with all the great bars downtown. Never in my life have I felt more discriminated against and disrespected by a server/bartender; and I will never spend my money at Annies again. I truly hope Derrick doesnt treat the women in his life the way he treated us, and I have sympathy for any woman that crosses his path. Absolutely unbelievable sexism at Annies, and the worst customer service Ive ever encountered.
Uh, I’m pretty sure theyre racist fouled. They make sure they keep an eye on your every move, it’s kinda creepy. My friend couldn’t get in because she had a permit instead of a license and the mangers reasoning was “people with permits start trouble” and after we argued that reasoning he said it was her “clothes” (shorts and a tank top) and after we argued all his reasoning, he finally said he’ll let us in. If you’re any ethnic person I suggest you don’t go here. also what’s the point of having a patio that you can’t smoke at? You can’t even bring your drink to the patio and you have to finish it before going to the upstairs area. This place sucks! Oh and watch out for vomit and spilled drinks on the floor, if you slip on it they’ll kick you out for being “drunk”.
Great service! So impressed with the layout and it’s very obvious that the leadership here takes a lot of pride in their training. Super clean and very friendly staff. I manage restaurants for a living and could not give higher compliments to this establishment. Great job!
This place is race fueled. Our pharmacy class came here to celebrate. He held our classmate from Africa and our Hispanic classmate’s ID because he didn’t want to let them in. DO NOT COME HERE. They don’t want people who are non-white to come here.
I handed the bouncer my real ID and he looks at it for less than 5 seconds and then hands it to this other woman and she starts bending and trying to peel the lamination off so I tell her to stop because it’s real. I tell her to call the DMV or whatever it is they do to verify IDs and she tells me to leave if I am going to have attitude...Seems like the bouncers just guess when it comes to real/fake IDs. Maybe hire some people who know the difference or maybe ask for a second form before trying to break it! Fun place tho.
My friend took me here when I was visiting from out of town and we had a blast here! The staff was great, the beers were cold, and the crowd was a good time. I can’t wait to go back and visit!
Ordinary bar in the new Omaha Capitol District area. Annie’s Irish Pub is a rather non-Irish bar in the new and evolving Omaha Capitol District area. The location is fabulous advanced planning—over time, the rather anemic but evolving Omaha Capitol District area is bound to become a busy entertainment and food spot in downtown Omaha. The bar features indoor and outdoor seating, a bar, and plenty of televisions. The service was okay but not stellar; the staff seemed overloaded and somewhat inexperienced. The décor has Irish-ish trappings, but Annie’s has no real Irish pub feel—it’s more like an ordinary sports bar, of which there are many better in the Omaha area. The facility was fairly clean. The prices were a little high. Overall, Annie’s Irish Pub looks like an okay place to stop and watch a sports game with friends but right now isn’t all that special—as an Irish-blooded American, I really hope Annie’s reaches into that Irish spirit and becomes a true Irish pub, quickly.
I was super excited to spend my birthday in capitol district. They told my friends and I who are all of age that our IDs were fake on my 21st birthday and wouldn’t serve us.
Used to live in the capitol district and had a promotion where residents got free cover with the wristband that our apartment provided us and the “manager” yelled at my wife saying he owned the place (he did not own the place) and he hadn’t set up this deal with our residence. He ended up calling someone that confirmed what we were saying and then acted like he was doing us a huge favor.
Came there and all white party drink prices were good service was good
All of the staff is amazing. They remember my name and my regular drink every time I walk in. Free popcorn and now they have keno. Best bar in Omaha!
Im in absolute love with this place many bars in one area and a very nice common area water fall and a huge screen TV with many other TVs playing tons of sports.. also a very clean area including the bathrooms.. and that rare.. definitely will be coming back
No toilet paper in any of the stalls on 10pm on a Friday. Not looking good.Updated - came back again and there still is no toilet paper in the stalls so this place is not an ideal place for getting drinks. Would not recommend.
Excellent place to grab a beer after work. Staff always remembers my name and are extremely personable. Bri, Cassie, Hadi, and Teresa are exceptional. Would definitely recommend!
Even though you buy drinks from them all night, if you dont have a wristband you have to pay cover even to use the bathroom...after spending over $40 at their bar. Terrible and will not recommend nor be back.
Would be nicer with food.
Security is great friendly atmosphere drinks are fair priced dj every Friday and Saturday night
Friendly staff, cold beer, great atmosphere, classy, loud doesnt begin to describe it. Unnecessarily loud. I would go back with ear plugs.
You get ided when you walk into the outdoor area, then again for whatever bar youre going to. Completely unnecessary. I dont smoke. A friend was confronted by security saying you cant smoke in the massive outdoor area. Again, unnecessary.
Overpriced downtown bar that has a lack of Irish beers and specials that dont cater to Irish drinking. Waitstaff was not friendly at all and seemed bothered we were there.
Great place in Omaha. Weeks get busy and are tons of fun! Weekdays its a great place to hang out and have a bite to eat
Stopped in while i was in town, loved the friendly staff, atmosphere, and the drinks. Overall a wonder experience, definitely something to Rave about and i will most definitely be back!
DJ romeo is the best Dj in Nebraska but you had he playing outside instead of inside to draw a bigger crowd. Your mistake.!
Becca makes the best bar popcorn around! It was very buttery and delicious! Also makes good hot chocolates!!
Forgot to close my tab for 2 Miller Lites. $25 charge on my card.
Staff was extremely friendly, drinks well made and fair priced, and the venue is a lot of fun! Will be back!
