I came here last night for girl’s night, it was absolutely fun! No matter if you don’t know how to sing the live band helps you sound a lot better and its just for fun so no judgement at all. The atmosphere was great and it didn’t feel overcrowded. They try to not play the same song twice so if they’ve played a song you picked make sure it hasn’t been sang already. Overall, drinks were good but overpriced but it is free to get in and sing so it makes up for it ;)
This place is fantastic! I celebrated my birthday here yesterday with a large group, & all the staff were so welcoming & accommodating! Denise, Rich, & the Rising Star house band all made our night so wonderful! Great service , friendly staff, well-run. They only serve drinks, but you can order food from the local pizza place there that will be delivered to your table.
This is my favorite karaoke venue out of all the karaoke that I love doing. You feel like a true rockstar!!! You have a whole band with backup singers making you feel like a million bucks. Talk about a boost in self-esteem.Submit your request fast and early. If you hesitate, you might not be able to go up. And to see everyone do their thing and not have your moment is a bit depressing. So go on, DO IT and get your night out! Have fun!
Went here with a large group of friends and all of us in total put 4 requests in at 9pm. None of us got to sing and the place closes at 1am. There were people who showed up after us who went on stage and we didn’t . There were even two couples who went twice and we didn’t go once. They need a better system than just picking names at random. Just go in order of who signed up not just picking at random from a bowl. It’s not fair to people who’ve been waiting all night and let others go up before them just on “luck”
Awesome experience is the best way to describe CityWalks Rising Star. Even the worst of singers have a chance of sounding good with a live band a back up singers. The entry form is very simple and their list of songs available is actually very large. You will be singing along as all the songs are pretty popular. With plenty of seating and alcohol Im pretty sure you will have a great time singing and dancing along to the songs or just watching people having fun singing.
I was so excited to visit this establishment I. Spent a lot of money. Was there for over 3 hours? Listening to other peoples talent. But mine was ignored and when I complained to the guy on the stage he didnt care, After a little while longer, I went to the bar and complained. Invoice my opinion on my disgust and how im being treated, I told Them without being offensive to them my disgust, Of my treatment there. The manager asked me to come outside and talk to her and she offers me to come back another day. Im like thinking. This girl is really crazy in my head and I will never be back. I was going to leave and I. Turned around and security, was there. They excluded me off the facility. When Ive done nothing wrong but be offended. So never minded the manager. Offends me here. She added insult to the injury unbelievable I will never be back to that establishment. Universal should look into this inappropriate behavior of the patrons. Because I spent a lot of money I have. For myself unlike these people, I would never return again after this insult. Escorted me off the property. I was going to leave on my own. I didnt do nothing. They can watch the video that was unprofessional. I dont like that manager and her behavior was inappropriate.
This is the third time that this has happened to me here, and I dont think I shall be returning any time soon. For context, I have been there a few times and only sang once. The past two times I was there, I put my song request in and it was never picked. This time was a bit annoying for me. I was with some friends, my buddy and I requested songs when we got there early. We were waiting all night for our songs for them to not be picked at all. This was the kicker though. A random person came in late and threw his name in the song bin. His song was picked immediately and he was on stage. Very disappointed due to the fact that I was there all night yet again and the same thing happens to me. Was a fun place, but I can just go to a karaoke bar and actually get my song picked/not spend so much money.
Step up and take the stage at this rocking bar and karaoke club, where you can belt out your favorite tunes with help from talented backup singers and a live band (subject to availability). Youll never forget this little taste of fame.No Ordinary Sing-Along ExperienceA nightly host keeps things going as you and your fellow headliners create a one-of-a-kind show. Whether youre a first-timer or a veteran vocalist, you’re the star.
This is a great place to listen to live music, enjoy a drink, dance, and have an all around good time. Its a karaoke bar that has a live band in the background, including backup singers. You get to listen to people try to sing their hearts out to their favorite songs. You can put your name down to request to sing but be prepared to wait a couple of hours before you are called. Also, during the break between sets, theres a live DJ and it becomes a fun place to dance. I recommend this place and will definitely go again.
Pretty ridiculous that when you’re an “adult” (19)and it’s an 18+ bar but you still need someone 21 to go in with you? Me and my four friends are on vacation all ranging from 19 to 20 and we can’t get in because apparently we’re fake adults. Cool

I am a music artist and this is by far my favorite karaoke stage! This place is an experience! If you love to sing you will literally feel like a pop star on stage with a live band and back up singers! The only thing I didn’t like was you put your song choice in a bucket and names are randomly selected so you may or may not get to sing. Food is ok mainly bar food and drinks are good but atmosphere A+ and the crowd gets very engaged so if you go up on that stage give it your all! You will have a blast! Check out my photos! No cover too! And if you want to follow my music journey on IG you can find me @only1zaina 😁
We had a blast! But wish they didnt take so many 15 to 30 min breaks. This is a karaoke bar. We are here to sing karaoke not watch music videos while you break every 30 to 45 minsm have 2 bands if you need to break that much. That being said we loved this place and will probably be back!
I went for the first time last evening. Atmosphere was great, the back up singers/dancers and MC were fun and good at what they do. Our server Denise was amazing- great personality, very attentive, kept our drinks flowing, fast service and hilarious! Will definitely be back again!
I absolutely love this place even if you do not like to do karaoke, the atmosphere is fun everyone sing along with the songs come early if you want a decent seatThe service here is absolute incredible second to none we love coming here for any type of an event or a date nightI would recommend bottle service it’s exceptional
Planned a whole trip to Universal Orlando to enjoy Karaoke here with my wife. Just wanted to plan a getaway to enjoy the City Walk night life. We stayed at a Universal Resort too. But this place was closed the entire time due to private events every night.I guess they don’t want people planning vacations here?
To be fair I only had a margherita pizza but it was good. the Atmosphere was INSANE. So fun and service was top notch. We went out for a birthday party and spent a few hours there hanging out and watching people sing. You get to truly be a star with a full band behind you and even backup singers. Definitely worth a visit.
BEST KARAOKE BAR I HAVE EVER SEENI only wish we had anything nearly as great as this karaoke theater in NYC... I would come to Orlando just for this bar. Enhanced cleaning of microphones, and quite normal prices.Message to the management team:Guys please dont get spoiled...Keep on doing great job: be fair to customers, hire only kind staff, keep backup singers, dont raise prices excessively, give chance to everyone and you will be the ever lasting star not only in Orlando but in the USA!Ill see you again for sure.Pictures: this could be you :)
A City Walk bar with an emphasis on karaoke. Scan the song book on your phone, write the song on a piece of paper, drop it in the bucket. You see you name on the screen, go and sing. The drinks were good and the menu comes from restaurants around its location. Which isnt bad since they are all co-located.
Place was super fun. Drinks are a little pricey but we had a good time.
Maybe its that I really dont get out that much, but this was a once in a lifetime experience (for me-- this is a thing that happens every night in Orlando.) I have been to many a karaoke bar, but have NEVER sung on a stage like this. You really do feel like a rock star!!!There is a cover charge, but whether you come to sing or just come to chill, the place has a great atmosphere. Youre not necessarily guaranteed to sing, but we went on a slow night. If o could do this every night, I would do so it in a heart beat!!
We didn’t eat. The atmosphere is fun but the way they pick singers at random is not fair. We saw some of the same people go up multiple times without ever getting picked ourselves. The band is good and we understand they work hard, but the paper said they do about 12 songs at a time before taking breaks. We were there multiple nights and they would play 6-7 songs and take LONG breaks. Like full half hours every time. Most of the time was spent waiting around and buying overpriced drinks. DisappointedEditing review at end of the night. They list the queue and we waited til the end of the night hoping we would get picked. The queue said ‘sign up to sing!’ As if they ran out of options. Except they just didn’t even get us a chance. We were celebrating my birthday and chose to stay here waiting for our chance and for some reason they just skipped us. Really disappointing
We found this place by walking around CityWak! OMG! Absolutely amazing spot. The environment is awesome and its Karoke with a live band! Our new favorite spot!
My server Danielle was awesome and drinks were great. Only issue was the opinionated host Scotty J. Talks way too much & is way too negative. No one cares about your football opinions.
Got here at 9pm with my wife and we were promptly seated. We put our songs in immediately; 20 minutes later (never got service) a server came and accused us of sitting in a reserved spot (even though that is where we were seated) so we were moved to another table. 40 minutes after being initially seated we still did not receive any service so I went to ask if we had to go to the bar to order. I was told to keep waiting but I did not and I ordered at the bar instead. 2 hours in another group walked in put in their songs and 30 minutes after that they were called up. 3 hours later neither mine or my wife’s songs were called. Quite frankly this place sucks. The band is good though and Jordan the bartender is nice. Go somewhere else. 0/5 stars if you actually want to sing.
Okay. So, let me tell you a story about the time we brought 80 employees from our company to this wonderful venue and had INCREDIBLE service from Denise! She single-handedly watched over all of us, made sure we had adequate drink & food for a multiple hour period. Beyond that, she was pleasant and nice and an all around pleasure. Even to a point where she started to predict what we needed BEFORE we needed it. Very appreciative to her for ensuring that we enjoyed the hype and ourselves on a night of celebrating our people. Loved the night and the incredible service! Highly recommend!
Denise was our hostess Monday Night. Troy was hosting. Amazing service from both the hostess and show host. Had a blast! She was friendly, professional, and kind.Backup singers had high energy and were right on point.Everyone deserves a raise.
Its a fun place, but theres something about it that I cant quite put my finger on... Not a great drink selection, and even on the weekend, it didnt bring in a crowd. The band and entertainers are very good. The waitresses were great. I would definitely recommend it, but I feel like it could be so much better.
If youre looking for talent and only want to see the singer sing once then this is the place to be. If you want to sing karaoke and only sing onr song this is the place to be. They spend more time on break then they do actually doing karaoke. If you actually want to have a good time and sing a couple of times, go to Oshucks down the road. If you just want to watch people sing then its fine but if youre looking to sing and more than once its not worth it. It is a good atmosphere and the staff behind the bar as well as on stage are very friendly and drinks are reasonably priced for a theme park
I have called many times and emailed the address on the site to make a VIP reservation and crickets. Please reply to this so that I can reserve seating for a 21st birthday event on THIS SAT 2/24/2024.
The service is awful, we have to wait over an hour to a freaking drink. All around us got their 2nd round drinks before us. I hate to say this but I think the stuff is racist. NEVER again we would go to that place.
The crowds, the staff, the band and the servers all make a great eclectic place to go and enjoy some Karaoke. Nights with a live band give you a chance to sing with live backup vocals. Exceptional service from Ava M. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that is 21+ and loves to do some karaoke. In-between sets the band will take a break and dance music fills the air. The process to sing is simple. You take a song sheet and look at the available list of songs, write your name down and your song choices along with the artist names. Its best to arrive early and submit your song choice early.
I want to start with a sincere apology to this establishment and ALL the staff for my behavior. After discovering that I was slipped something in my drink, without my acknowledge, at a previous place, I discovered how horrible of a patron I was, and I wanted to let you know that is defiantly not a representation of myself. I apologize to any customers, staff members, and your amazing band for any disrespect. From my understanding, the staff was nothing but patient with me and my actions and I thank you. Although I dont remember a thing, I still wanted to take accountability for my actions. Please accept my apologies for I am truly sorry.
CityWalks Rising Star is an absolute blast! They take karaoke to a whole new level with a full live band accompanying your performance. Its an experience I highly recommend to everyone visiting. With two stories and a great view of the stage, the energy is contagious. The only downside is that I wish they were open later, but aside from that, its a karaoke lovers paradise. Even if youre not brave enough to sing yourself, its still incredibly fun to watch others take the stage and rock out with the band. Dont miss out on this entertaining hotspot!
This was the first time in this spot. We had a blast up in here! It was really an enjoyable time! There was some great talent in the house also. I wasnt very happy with the choice of food. Only pizza. Our service was great too. But if your looking for a great time, youve got to check this place out.
My husband and I were excited to come to Rising Star tonight. We got there at 8pm thinking there would be karaoke since they opened at 7pm. We were told it would not start until 9:15 so we returned at 8:40 to get a seat. We were told by the hostess that we could sit anywhere upstairs and take our drink from the bar we purchased downstairs. We sat on a couch and then we’re approached stating we needed to order food or more drinks. She was really rude and while bugging us after we already purchased drinks, the fire arm starts going off. We sadly did not go back in for karaoke because of how rude she was. It looks like a super fun place and I’m sad we didn’t get to experience the live band karaoke.
Business proposal: fire the DJ, get a 2nd band so there’s no breaks
Came over here.. with my girlfriend and she loves it on stage! I don’t sing it’s like Rush Hour the movie and I’m Jackie Chan, so I Leave it to her to be the super talented one! Thank you for giving her such a grand experience! I told her about this place and it’s the first time for her, she’s always been a Disney girl now I’ve turned her into the dark side ;-p. Frequent visitors of every thing fun! We will be back
First time going. We had a blast. There was nowhere to sit. So I recommend going early to find a table. I love the energy of the band and host.
The vibes here are really great! Just had an overall pretty frustrating night unfortunately :(They’re really understaffed for the amount of people that come in so it’s hard to catch someone. Waited a very long time until we were able to wave down a server and order food.Seems there’s no order to the songs too…. Put our songs in as soon as we arrived with many options just in case our songs were already sung earlier. Many parties who came in after us sang their songs, some a couple times. After three hours of being there, had to leave, pretty bummed out about not being able to sing…I really would recommend NOT a trash bucket for song tickets picked at random, but someone who takes cards and is able to put songs in, in fair order.
Great place to visit if you want to see a live show since youll never know what youre going to get.If you arent celebrating a special occasion or personally know any band members, dont bother signing up since it may take hours. My advice is to just lie.
Excellent place to get your karaoke on. But you better be ready to wait a long while before you get to sing. It is very busy there and names are pulled from a bucket. Bring your Friends, they will enjoy it too.
Went on a Monday and it was so good, I went back that Friday. A lot of brave and talented people took to the stage, but there was one star that needs more credit. THE DJ! There were a few brakes for the band and backup singers, so the DJ filled the gap. Gotta say, his mixes were so good it got the whole place moving. Almost a pity when the singers took to the stage again. Super fun and definitely recommend Rising Star!
Jordan is one of the best bartenders that I’ve ever met. She took care of me and remember every order I had which made repeat orders better! I will recommend everyone I know who visits Orlando to go to CityWalks just for her!!!
Very fun atmosphere, but the likelihood of getting picked to sing is low. Full bar, but around 12-15 per drink with tip, though that can be expected at theme parks. No food unless you order from the pizza place, and its a little hard to find seats.
Nice place and the band is pretty good, fun for Karaoke if you can get up there before the band takes a very long break. Also the host/singer can be very rude sometimes.
I had fun checking out Rising Star for the first time. The cocktail server was nice, explained food was food at the adjacent restaurant, and did take a little more time than normal. I sang the first song of the night surprisingly as it is a drawing. The quality of sound was good. I wish the monitors had more vocals but otherwise no complaints.
This place is horrible … accused me of having a fake ID when I’m 100% of age with a real ID. Made me feel incredibly embarrassed.
Danielle was amazing. So thankful for her amazing service
This place is cool. If someone has the balls to sing on stage in front of a live band, they’re the real deal. I sat here drinking for 4 hours listening to their awesome live band with random people from the crowd singing the vocals. You know what was cooler than that?Jordan at the upstairs bar. This lady was one of the best bartenders I’ve ever encountered, and I drink a lot. She will remember your order, fix it up quick, and do it with a great smile.Foamy beer? No. She doesn’t play that game. Weak drink? Nope. Not that one either. Spillage? Non existent.Come for the music. Stay for the Jordan.
One of the best karoke spots and experiences I have ever been too!!! Omg the live band and fun definitely enjoyed
I just want to share how heartbroken I am after my visit to Rising Star on, Saturday December 30th, 2023. I thought this place was my pot of gold. After losing my sister and Dad within a few months of each other recently, my family traveled from the Bahamas to visit with me for the first time since 2019, which was when last we saw each other. I discovered Rising Star on November 8th of 2023. After a visit from my friend in the Bahamas who came to express her sympathy and spread some love. Which was why I exuberantly expressed to my family for an outing at Rising Star. To celebrate life in the midst of pain.My adult nephew Kenny who is 32 years of age and a special needs adult recently obtained his Drivers Permit was so excited to visit Rising Star, can I say, that OUR already fragile spirits were further decimated after encountering RICK . I cant say that I would recommend visiting there again Ricks attitude and disdain towards my nephew was very palatable. Kenny presented his Drivers Permit he is a NON-us citizen or resident, he was VISITING!!!!! This didnt deter Kenny. After the permit was denied Kenny went on to show RICK his Electronic Passport. This was also refuted. ? Who visits a theme park with physical passports? This is why an authenticated electronic passport is encrypted. For security purposes. Ricks attitude and annoyance reared and his sarcastic tune matched his DRACULA like appearance. He in fact did drain the life from our families outing, which is why we left. Ricks disdain was very palatable and non provoked. I asked to speak with a Manger, the manager who was standing 2 feet away by the name, Tasha; who was BUSY... So...BUSY AND DISMISSIVE. FEIGNING POLITENESS as she walked and pointed us away. AFTER spending $$$ hundreds of dollars on November 8th, & December 19th. I dont know if l can return to Rising Star, or recommend it anymore. Because Kenny and my family returned back home to the Bahamas this morning feeling slighted.
This place is garbage. Spent over 100 and they skipped my name and I never even got to sing. Everyone in my party sang but they completely skipped me and let two people who just sang do the song I was going to sing. I wont be back!
We had an amazing work get together at Rising Star. Denise, Jordan and Katie were very accommodating and easy to talk to. We will be back!
Got here first, went 10+ deep...unorganized rotation for no reason...free for all... band is great behind you..expensive drinks.. the host on wed sucks... said 2 words, 5 songs deep..... (one time one time) you SUCK LOL)
The atmosphere is definitely fun. It’s a great time….. if you only want to sing ONE song. We’ve given this place two visits. Once steady (not completely packed) once slow (post Covid dead) and had hefty tabs with good size parties both times. You literally only get to sing once no matter how incredible or terrible you are! The drink prices aren’t worth that! Both times we left and went to the local bars where patrons are appreciated and loved! Other than that place is great.
This bar is so much fun! Last night they didn’t have a cover but I think sometimes they do. There is a bar and seating areas upstairs and downstairs. It’s a great place for a bachelorette or birthday! They have a full band and background singers for you and it makes you feel like a star. So fun
Denise was amazing server for our party which was quite large. We was super respectful, responsive, and quick. She is A1 and definitely worth the visit if not for the great stage and karaoke, then for Denise’s ability at her job.
It was a lot of fun. Uses to be a live band which was unique. They still have backup singers and it is definitely cooler than regular karaoke. They have so many people requesting songs that youll likely only get to sing once. They break like every hour for about 15-30 minutes which slows down getting singers in. Staff is very friendly. Menu is good. Atmosphere is great. I give the bathrooms a 7 out of 10. All in all, very cool.
NEVER AGAIN! This place is a joke. My girlfriend and I went here because we love karaoke and in fact have our own karaoke business. We sat there for about 2 hours and 45 minutes. We put our songs in to the band at 815 pm. We watched as singer after singer got called up. And lets not forget the two thirty minute breaks that the band took in the time we spent there. Even people that had literally just put their songs in to the band. We decided we had had enough. So we asked for iur check. We had a pizza, three beers, a mixed drink, and 2 diet cokes. $70 later and we walked out. When i asked for the manager he explained to me that they had room for 35 or 40 singers and its completely random. My business, as i told the manager, has enough room for 35 or 40 singers to sing three songs a piece in a four hour time period. DO NIT RECOMMEND. Unless you are an employee (because theyre the only ones that have a chance to sing...), steer completely clear of here.
Was here for a work event. Not sure if they serve food but the bartenders are fast and poor a great drink and the kareoke is not only tolerable, but outright enjoyable.
Great atmosphere. If you like karaoke, you havent lived until youve tried it with a live band! Great musicians, but I was a little disappointed that some standards werent available. But lets be honest, its completely unfair to expect them to know everything. We WILL BE back the next time we visit CityWalk.
If u like Karaoke and want to sing, go elsewhere. Unless u know the MC or happen to pick the right song. We had a group with 3 who put in songs to sing. After about 4.5 hours and watching some people sing twice and none of our group called we realized it is rigged. Probably towards friends of management, or if youre lucky to pick a song that the band wants to play. But the hitch is, why dont they just eliminate songs that they dont want from the pre-made list and tell u its rigged? As far as friends of management getting priority, theres not much u can do. Meanwhile u get scammed for drinks while u wait for someone in your group to sing - which doesnt always happen - for the reasons stated above. If u think selections are first come, first serve, u are mistaken. Add to this, that one break went about 45 minutes, while the MC stated it would be 15. Overrated and expensive. They are selling drinks and thats about it.Update: I spoke to the manager who was unpleasant and immediately was defensive and argumentative. I am 60 yrs old and with a family of 5. Im not a kid. He told us that selections are random, which makes no sense. People can walk in the door and sing twice while u can wait 4.5 hours like we did and no one called up to sing. He was very unfriendly and even condescendingly said the random selections are written in some fine print in some obscure place. In all, he was the worst customer facing person I can find. Rather than try to explain and make us half way happy, he was the typical tough guy with a an attitude that we took as - eff off, we have enough business. Good. We live nearby and will share our story with our many friends in the Dr. Phillips/Bay Hill neighborhood of Orlando.
Wow!! Just Wow!! We had an event at Rising Star Friday night and it was a BLAST!!!! Tom, our server, was absolutely incredible!!! He took such excellent care of the group - and when a new person joined he was right there ready to get their order!! Amazing!!! The small plates were delicious- drinks were fantastic- live band and backup singers - just wonderful all the way around!! Cant wait for our next adventure there!! EXCELLENT job, Rising Star!!!
Went our first night arriving in Orlando to check the area out, came inside to check out some Karaoke for fun. Lots of tables had reserved signs on them, we found a place to sit and the waitress took our drink order. We were hoping to be able to get some small plates, but all they had available was pizza from the local pizza restaurant (Red Oven). It was really delicious! We enjoyed the entertainment, when we arrived the staff stage band, singers and dancers were on break. From the reviews, it seems they take many breaks and it would probably be better if there was a waitlist for singers versus the raffle type selection. It was enjoyable and some of the singers were really good!
Hello there! I just wanted to shoot an email and let you know that Neah was an amazing server last night! She’s got a great personality, super fast and thorough!
Oh. My. God. Best night of our vacation!!! If you wanna feel famous for just a moment, get up and sing! Best entertainment in Orlando!! Host Michael was fantastic and cocktail server Denise was EVERYTHING!!!! She even got us pizza from next door after the kitchen closed!!! Best service! Best entertainment! Best night!!
I had so much fun! Singing and dancing and the drinks were strong. I also love that city walk is open later than disney springs.
My friends and I had a group of nearly 20. We were “VIP”, had a reservation to celebrate a birthday, and spent about $900 total. Yes, $900. None of us who put our names in were called up to preform. If there’s a group of 20 people paying nearly a thousand dollars, you couldn’t make note of that and make sure at least one of us could go up? I enjoyed the other performers and did have a fun time with my friends, but that just felt like a rip off. We were doing a karaoke activity to celebrate a birthday and literally none of us got to do the activity. Also, we asked for water and instead of bringing us glasses they brought us $5 bottles without asking if this was okay first. If you want to do a karaoke night out with friends this is not the place to go. It’s rare to be able to get to do the karaoke. You’ll be able to watch other people do karaoke and sing along with friends, which can be still fun! But I personally would not recommend for a karaoke night out! I think they should use a less randomized system when deciding who gets to do the karaoke.
My only complaint is that the speaker set up for us singers to hear how we sound isn’t loud enough. At no fault to Rising Star, it closes too early to get much stage time on nights when City Walk is not open late and there is a big crowd. I’ve been there multiple nights with a crowd that’s not ready to go home yet. Otherwise, it’s a really cool experience with an AWESOME stage that will make you feel like a rock star lol and they have great backup singers. Just be prepared to not fully hear how you’re sounding when you’re singing. Personally, I feel totally naked but it’s so fun. Also, the food selection is good too since it comes from the nearby restaurants.
If you like music you HAVE to come here. Oh, and its free! :)
Should have read the reviews before I decided to take my family. So. We came in before 9:00, ordered food and drinks, put our names in for karaoke BEFORE the band started. 2.5 hours in and still not picked. I’m being told they are “randomly generated” with a list of names. I inquired, do they also randomly generate my check? Would think that if someone puts in their name, they would get picked. Then I’m told they pick the singers based upon the “feel”. Now that sound discriminatory. You know that someone older than 20 might want to sing a song, and quite possibly nail the song. But nobody looks like they will find out. If I’m not mid 20’s then I’m not considered.
I frequent Orlando and this my favourite spot to visit! The music is always great, the vibe is awesome and Denise has always taken the best care of us! If you’re looking an adult night out that isn’t a club scene but an awesome time, this is the spot for you!
This place is SO much fun! I definitely recommend it. We celebrated my boyfriends birthday and we were a group of 30 and Rising Star was very accommodating to us (even arriving later then our reservation time). We went on a Tuesday, kinda of a slow night, but it worked out in our favor as almost everyone in our group was able to get a chance to go up. I loved the live band, they definitely help take the Karaoke experience to the next level. Great song choice too, a lot of the classics. If you go, especially with a large group like we did, ask for Denise! She was the absolute sweetest and very attentive to our group. She stayed on top of making sure everyone was good with their drinks . She kept them coming all night long. Thank you Denise!!!!!!
Me and my family went to rising star and we had the server Jessica. She was rude to us both nights my family was there. The first night we got attitude for not knowing where we were supposed to sit. While we have never been there before and didn’t understand how it worked. The table service was super slow. The second night we had her again took her awhile to come to our table and then she did she got drinks brought them back and dropped the drinks on my mother and I. We were completely soaked on our pants. She apologized but would not take the drinks off the bill she said she took the fallen drinks off the bill but not the ones she got after the fallen ones. It is obvious we wouldn’t pay for the drinks that fell all over us. The singing itself was fun but overall we got attitude and walked out unhappy.
This used to be my favorite place. I come here every year for my birthday. I’m sitting in here right now, it is 11:18pm and the DJ has played nothing but EDM fist pumping music the entire time. The energy is low, the crowd is not responding or up dancing and he’s still not changing it up. He has absolutely no range of diversity although the room is filled with different types of people. First time I’ve ever experienced this. The DJs definitely need to be vetted better, cause this one ain’t it.
Wasnt sure what is was all about but upon entering,I was pleasantly surprised. It was entertaining, the audience was engaged and overall, I thought the whole concept and participants were adorable...and brave!!! But they were all very good singers. Loved the live band and dancers!
Rising Stars was one of the best karaoke bars I’ve been to. Pizza and drinks were on point. Singers and the backup dancers were fun. And the real star was our server Jordan who really made us feel welcome the entire time. Seriously above and beyond service and she made it seem effortless. We will definitely be returning on our next Disney trip.
They only do karaoke for 20-25 minutes, and then take a 40 minute break. Might seem petty, but I timed it, and yes, a 40 minute break. You’d think for a 4 hour work shift for them, one break would be warranted, but THREE 40 minute breaks? Ridiculous. So yes, it’s actually only a 2 hour karaoke, and not 4. **UPDATE** So this is 2 years later, and I decided to give them another try. I thought perhaps years after Covid, that they’d be more decent to their customers. Unfortunately that is not the case. They’re are still taking 3 different 40-45 minute breaks throughout the 4 hours that they are open. The reason why this is a problem at all, is that if you sign up, there is a 90% chance you will NOT go up to sing. Just keep that in mind before you come here. If you do want to sing, you need to be one of the first people in the door when they open, because their breaks make it to where no one can go up. Good luck! If you are someone who just wants to hang out and listen to 5-6 people sing, then by all means, their bar is great.
Do not recommend we went to use elevator to take us to upper level and it started bouncing for like 5 mins straight then we somehow ended up in underground tunnel of universal city walk and soon as we step out of elevator security is questioning how we ended up going down here and when we explain we were bouncing in a broken elevator and ended up there they told us to go back in broken elevator there’s no exit down here and when we said we are not going back in that broken elevator they were no help and we found a staircase that took us back to a door near the waterfall to get back to city walk it was the weirdest and strangest experience I ever had in my life.
Had an amazing time! Drinks were great for the price and fun atmosphere. My group went in just after midnight and two people were still able to sing. The band was amazing and the backup singers were so encouraging and talented. Really great spot.
I enjoyed singing a couple of songs from the list. What I didnt expect was my call to be pulled from the fish bowl. I was on the second floor after and took the elevator, which took a while to get to the stage. They announced, if youre signed up to sing its best to be on the first floor, just in case youre pulled from the list. The first song was by the Erythmics. The back backede up, I felt very comfortable with the amazing supportive audiences who too signed up to sing. Rising Star was a great connection for me after long hours of work here in Beautiful home town Orlando.Fran
As a karaoke host and owner myself.... ive never had such an experience. The place was basically empty. The host asked me to sing as I had slips on the table.... so myself and another guy sang. Then after the fact.... the guy says you cant sing anymore. I wouldve waited till people came to sing if it was made clear that this how they do karaoke here. I wouldnt recommend this place if you actually like to participate in karaoke. They pick who they want to sing multiple times. Nit a fair rotation
I wanted to share my experience at Rising Star last night. I was supremely hurt and disappointed, which is a genuine first for me as an Annual Passholder.I came in around 9:00 - 9:30 with 3 other people. We werent very vocal about it, but this was a going away party for one of the members of the group. I immediately put my name into rotation because we had tried coming a few nights before, and didnt get called (that was fine with me as we had come in late that night.) A little bit later, I saw my name show up in rotation (pictured below), and was incredibly excited to go up. There was an over sight, and it turns out there was another Melissa there who also put in the same song as me, but she was with her bridal group. Mistakes happen, I understood. I went up to the host, Zach, and explained what happened. He apologized and said hell get me in as soon as possible. Great, I thought, problem solved. So I waited. After about a half hour, I put in a second card, not knowing if they still had my first card. I assumed since they thought I was the same person, they probably threw it away. I went back to my seat, and then waited another hour. I still wasnt called.I had to go and find the manager on duty to explain to him what happened. I had to then fill out a third card on the spot, and just tried to remember what I put. The manager made sure I was put next, but I felt so incredibly unwelcome when I went up there. It felt like, oh my god, okay, come sing! Are you happy now? This was my first time back to Rising Star and participating since the pandemic, and I felt bullied, quite honestly. Our server was great. The manager did his due diligence and made sure that I was able to sing. But this whole experience was absolutely awful.I dont expect anything from this post, but I just wanted to share this so that perhaps this can be prevented from happening again to someone else. This whole experience tainted Rising Star for me, and Im not sure I want to go back, which is heartbreaking, as it was my favorite karaoke spot.
So much fun, everyone there is having a great time and not caring whether the karaoke is good or not. People are braving the stage no matter the skill, the service was a bit slow but it was packed to the rim and I always had a drink. So I cant complain too much! Definitely should stop by for a fun time with some friends.
Put my song in and waited 3 hours to perform, I was so excited. Turns out I never get called, spend the entire night waiting to go until city walk closes and I never go, and a group of drunk girls got to perform 3 times. When I tried to ask if I’ll ever go, the manager just told me to get off the stage because he never called me up. I was so let down. Plus the drinks are very overpriced. If you go, good luck getting picked.
Came here multiple nights in a row and got HORRIBLE service each night. catty responses from servers and even getting straight up ignored after sitting down because there was no hostess. been sitting for multiple hours and not even a hello. had a great time other than the service. atmosphere is fun!
Had an awesome time last night with friends! Super different plan than usual and we loved it. Definitely recommended. Denise was amazing and super fun! She was always super attentive and we were well taken care of the whole time. Overall it was a great experience and we will definitely be back.
I wont even lie...with all the negative reviews I had read, from several sites, I was nervous to come, but the best experience is personal experience right? Let me just say...this place was absolutely AMAZING! From the moment we had walked in the staff had made us feel comfortable. Our server, Katie Flowers, was attentive, funny, and extremely friendly! The band... omg... the band was on fire! I didnt expect to be called on to sing, but I was and it was heart pumping! The music and atmosphere while the band took a break was fun too! Not once did I stop dancing and singing. Made some new friends while I was there too! The moral: everyone has their own personal experiences WHEREVER they go...the thing is youve got to have your own. Mines was unforgettable in a POSITIVE way and I hope yours will be too. Much Love, Lady Moon
This Place was Amazing, I am usually shy about Karaoke 🎤 but this place pumped me up. They have a live band and back-up singers. Problem is it closes at midnight so by the time you finish with the parks, get the kids settled! Freshen up and get back its late and you may not get a chance to sing. Cocktails are good atmosphere and vibe is great. Everyone is in Vaca mode, friendly and supportive. Did I mention they have a live band and back-up singers....who dance? Yes, check this place out!
Nice band set up with host and back up singers. The set of kareokeRs are drawn by lottery so if u arrived there at 9pm (the earliest they start) even after 3 hours of waiting, you werent able to sing. They close at 12am. BUMMER! The dj was rude, too. Nice set up but overall, waste of time going in there.
I loved ! spend an incredible night! The girl who took care of us is called Jessica, very professional and charming, always making sure that everything was fine, I would definitely come back
Horrible service! Our server was extremely rude and very dismissive. After finally returning with our drinks, she asked for my card to start a tab, then decided to hijack it for the rest of the night, while taking it upon herself to add everyone else who joined our party to my tab, against my wishes, even when the others offered up their own card to use. When I protested, I was assured that it was just a hold and that I would not be charged for everyone, but at the end of the night she refused to split the bill more than 2 ways. I asked for the check at 11:45 and didnt receive it until 20 minutes later, after the place had closed and we were the last table there. I had to ask for the manager, who did nothing more to accommodate, other than explain that this was their policy, albeit after the fact. As for the venue itself, they have a whole stage, with backup singers and all, but they limit karaoke performances to just 2 people, which was very disappointing. Both, the food menu and song menu were wack, with limited options. Needless to say, I will never, ever return.
I love singing. I sing kareoke all over the world, at televised fundraisers, at work christmas parties, and everywhere in-between. I have won awards but never felt satisfied. Something was missing, and I always felt an empty void deep within my kareoke song list. Little did I know I would find my missing link at Rising Star.It was a warm Wednesday night in January 2023. I spent the entire day at Sea World, and decided to go to City Walk for some food. I was dehydrated and still smelled like sardines and dolphin water. As we walked around, I noticed that several employees were standing outside of Rising Star. I thought it was strange because its normally closed for private events around the time the parks close. I became very excited and thought about what song I was going to sing.I quickly walked past the employees at the entrance and entered the building. I was met by an empty stage, no dancers, no music. The place was closed. I lowered my head and walked outside disappointed. It was then, when my life changed forever. One of the employees said, Im sorry but were not open yet. I stopped dead in my tracks, looked up, and saw Denise. The way she told me they were closed... She... She had the singing voice of an angel. It was as if I was talking directly to Faith Hill. She was very friendly, and told us we could come back later and sing.We then left and went on a drinking spree around City Walk. I think it was my 4th or 5th alcoholic slushie from Fat Tuesday when I thought about Denises voice. I realized she may possibly be my missing link for the perfect kareoke song. I decided I was going back, and me and Denise were going to do a duet together. As I walked around City Walk I began practicing different duet songs. The more I drank the better my voice sounded.... I think. I then had a moment of reason and decided that Denise would not want to sing with an intoxicated person. She appeared far too classy for that. I lowered my head and walked back to my resort. I decided I would ask her to sing a duet the following night, my last night in Orlando.I went to Islands of Adventure the entire next day. I was so nervous. What if Densie doesnt want to sing? What if she couldnt?! When the parks closed I entered City Walk. I was full of anxiety, butterbeer, and churros. I smelled like the water from Dudley Rights Ripsaw Falls. But I didnt care. The world was about to hear the greatest duet ever. John and Denise singing Remind Me by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood. As I walked over toward Rising Star, I saw the barricades.... and then I saw employees holding the lit up signs CLOSED FOR PRIVATE EVENT.My heart sank. Several hours later I was on an airplane headed back home. Far from Faith Hills voice-double.Although the duet never took place, I will say that Rising Star is a true hidden gem on City Walk, and most people tend to overlook it. I highly recommend stopping in and checking it out.If you do, you might just be lucky enough to hear the greatest kareoke duet ever.
Tried to visit with my partner a couple weeks ago, the whole block was closed off for a private event which was fine as we just got drinks at hard rock instead. We wanted to try again on another day but decided to call ahead so that we didnt drive all the way out to be turned away again, we tried calling at multiple different times on a night that says its open but only ever got the overly enthusiastic voice-mail box.
Im not a happy customer! I was here for 3 hours...... I wanted to sing karaoke. When I put my name in the bucket there were 4 names in it. I got full & thats when they took the names out. I was here all night & FOR NOTHING. I DONT KNOW HOW THE SYSTEM THEY USE TO PICK OUT NAMES BUT ITS UNFAIR! IM NOT COMING BERE AGAIN! IT SHOULD BE 1ST COME FIRST SERVED!
If you like to get on stage and do your thing, this place is right for you! It is the most over the top karaoke place Ive ever been to and Im here for it! The song selection is limited but it makes sense when you have a live band and backup singers! The crowd here was being in concert! Everyones having a good time and singing along!
Denise and Jordan made sure our company had a great time celebrating. They went above and beyond to make sure we were well accommodated. Thanks you ladies!
I’m obsessed with karaoke and I thought this would be such a fun spot!! Well, the idea of it was fun. But when the 3 “back up” singers took 20 minute breaks every 35-45 minutes, I wasn’t impressed. They were open 7pm -12am, taking breaks like that made those who put their names in for karaoke not even get a chance. I’ve been to plenty of karaoke bars where the karaoke host is doing wayyy more than these people were and didn’t take breaks as often where people missed out on their chance. I won’t be going back when we visit Orlando again.
Y’know, maybe this is unsatisfactory in a city this big, but coming from a podunk town you’ve only maybe heard of, this is something incredible. The drinks are—though pricey, priced accordingly—stronger than what I’m used to being served. When the live band is present, it’s unlike any karaoke experience I’ve ever had. I’m used to being turned down for going way too hard at a basic karaoke joint. These guys don’t turn me up; they set me at the level I’d like to be heard.I genuinely don’t know when I’ll be back in Orlando, but the several times I’ve been here have made me feel the Exact Emotion They Propose. All that said, if the concept of this place interests you at all, then you owe it to yourself to check this place out.
Literally the worst karaoke I have ever been to. You put your songs in a bucket. They may or may not get picked depending on the whims of whomever picks them. If you are unfortunate enough to not get picked for a set, you WILL get discarded. The manager is callous and condescending. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. So sadly disappointed. May I add that there is not the advertised back-up band. Terrible experience.
I got there right at opening time 8pm so I could get a good seat and something to eat. To my surprise they had no food. They did take orders for pizza from another location, so at least I was able to eat. My girlfriend and I immediately filled out the cards for karaoke and only had two people ahead of us. I was called to sing after about 4 people, but my girlfriend was never called. I spoke to one of the employees in the control booth and she said it didnt matter when you placed your name in, they look at the songs and select who they want. Finally left at 11pm without my girlfriend singing. It is ashamed that you make an effort to get there early so you can sing and you never do. The band was great and the atmosphere was also great. The band (karaoke) didnt start till 9pm. They have a limited song choice for those of you that are real karaoke followers. It was a nice feeling to sing on a professional stage.
This is a must do at City Walk. Denise made sure we had an awesome time two nights in a row! I was with a large corporate party, and both nights we NEVER had to ask for someone, she was always there with refills and help. Hosts were very nice, the band was great, we sang all night to the wee hours!. Lots of fun !
Denise the server and stage director went above and beyond to help my friend and I bring down the house through an amazing rendition of Stacy’s Mom in front of a packed house full of our business colleagues!! #Accessibility #Inclusion #DisabilityPrideMonth #HotlandoHighly recommend making this your next business karaoke night!!!
We purchased a $250 dollar of Dom so we could sit on the floor in front of the stage. 2 in my party wanted to sing Karaoke and we waited hours to do so. Our names never came (we were there for 3 hours) up because they had multiple 30-minute breaks in which they played music and danced. There is a dance club right next door and no dance floor here, so we couldnt even get out of our $300 table (after the $50 included gratuity). Not only was it waste of a lot of money and time for us, but it was also such a bummer because it will probably be years before the 4 of us will be able to get out to do Karaoke together again. Why multiple 30 minute breaks at a Karaoke place? Makes no sense.
We went to Rising Star City Walk on Thursday 8/16/18. This was our first time there. I read all of the previous reviews. We were there to spend time together for my nieces Birthday. Yes they only served pizza, the drinks were pricey, the cover was reasonable. No one was rude, they werent unfair picking singers. We had a blast. Denise was very polite and professional. She went over and beyond to explain things and to make sure we had a wonderful time. Thanks Denise! Well be back again. Thank you Rising Star for a memorable night.
First Impressions were good, people having fun, stage set up was great! We spent the money to sit in a VIP booth along with buying bottle of expensive champagne hoping my husband ( who is a wonderful singer btw) could share along with the others. David was a wonderful server, thanks David) THE BIG PROBLEM …My husband got on the stage only once the whole time we were there! He put in multiple requests to come on stage with no avail! There was a popular crowd that was celebrating a special occasion receiving all of the attention, younger crowd. Maybe friends of the DJs? Same people up multiple times! Anyway, reading through these reviews others have had the same problem. Host and backup singers took multiple breaks too. (FYI, rising star, this is when we witnessed part of your crowd exit) Do you think the managers are reading these posts? They should be!
This place was SO FUN! You would be surprised how well some of the participants sing. The backup dancers/singers and the band were AMAZING. Super fun date night or hangout with friends.
Absolutely loved going here! Went to city walk to wander around and drink and decided to go into rising star. It was so much fun! The staff was VERY attentive. The live band/singers water very good. The drinks were legit the best!!!! I will definitely be going back!
This is by far the best karaoke experience I have ever had. The host, the band and your back up singers are amazing. I will recommend this to all and not just karaoke singers.
Since I came to Orlando I had been curious about this place. I finally visited it to celebrate my birthday. I gave it a try even though some of the poor ratings. I reserved my tables via email because we had a big party. When we arrived, the door guy knew our party by name and guided us to the tables. The service was fast and our drinks were very good and cheap. We ordered pizza from the pizzeria around the corner and was delivered by our waitress and it was delicious. We were picked to sing, its so exciting to sing with a live band. This is a cool place.
Best karaoke 🎤 in city-walk. No kitchen so whatever order is from restaurant next door. It came out fresh and fast so pretty good nothing bad. Perfect chance to sing on the stage with whole band which is great opportunity. Perfect. This girl is on fire! “ i like big butt and i cant lie” made the night for everyone.
“Rich” was a host at the front and I was asking questions about what the bar/restaurant was to another host when “Rich” came up to us, touched my shoulder, moving me out of the way to let other patrons in. I asked him why he did this and he said I was blocking the very large entrance and people needing to get in. He was very rude to both me and the host I was speaking to. Asking questions and being excited about this venue turned into me being completely turned off and the vibe ruined.
Place was cool but I signed up to sing at 8:30 and didnt get called by 11:45. Husband signed up at 10 for called to sing at 10:30. I felt left out so we left.
I really expected more from a Universal Orlando Entertainment venue but it really fell short. It was a friends birthday, we had a party of 20 people and the service was lacking to say the least. The waitress charged well above our cap for the drinks which was unacceptable but we dealt with it. We ALL put our names on for the karaoke and even though we were the first party here, none of us got a chance to go up on stage. Yet the table next to us went up FIVE count em, FIVE times!! If this is how you handle large parties than I think this will be the first and last time I will come to Rising Star!! We even spoke the manager and she said that nothing was promised to your party! Yeah definitely not coming back!!
So my girlfriend and I came to sing. We showed up an hour early and submitted about 10 different tickets so we could get a chance to sing. The band allowed 10 songs and then took a break for 40 minutes!!!!! What house band plays less than an hour and then takes a break for the same amount of time?! Spent hours waiting and buying drinks to never get called on... Dont go here if you plan on singing, its a money pit
First timer here. Local resident. I had an amazing Friday night out with a group of friends for a birthday party. The live music was awesome and I got to sing on the stage with a full band backing me! What an awesome experience. Shout out to our fantastic server and host, Brent. Excellent experience.
Not worth it. Super overpriced drinks!Me and my Wife and Friends came here twice with us waiting for Karaoke. First night we dint get anything... second we were the last song after waiting 2 and ahalf hours. They chose the request sheets at random. So I say if you want a high chance choose a song that is popular not your favorite and maybe youll get in. The mics are also kinda bad.
Rising Star was an amazing experience! I loved the whole experience. The service, the food, the backup singers, and the way they run karaoke was all excellent. Denise was the best server we had in Universal City Walk. Thoroughly pleased and can’t wait to go back!!!
Wonderful service. Our server Erin A. Was so kind and attentive through our whole dining experience. We originally sat at a 4 top with 5 guests, leaving my mom standing. Erin not only found us a place to seat our whole party but sat us right up in front of the action. She was always checking up on us and filling our waters. Living in Tampa I frequent universal regularly and will now make it a point to visit here again because of her.
Very fun place! Unfortunately we were treated poorly by the staff. None of my friends drink alcohol. We asked for non alcoholic drinks but we never got the drinks. Server ignored us completely.
Denise was an amazing server. We had a huge group and was very patient and helpful. Amazing service and will definitely be coming back! Thank you so much Denise!!!
Cool venue but they have 45 min song breaks when there’s a lot of people that sign up for a song. Might as well just be a club with a few karaoke songs in between
My friends and I are always on the hunt for a good karaoke bar and this one takes the cake. Raquel aka Rapunzel as we liked to call her, served us at the bar and was an absolut (pun intended) delight. We then moved to a table and had Madison as our server. She was hilarious and provided great service. I always appreciate when the staff at a bar treats us like friends. Cant wait to go back!
I came into Rising Star for the first time in years this past weekend. And I had such a Wonderful experience with my server Kristi. She was extremely attentive and was so sweet to my family. She definitely made the experience safe. We left with all smiles on our faces.
This place was amazing. Love band, drinks, ans karaoke! We all had a blast!
Theyre selective of what songs and who comes on stage the were people that were there earlier and put songs, the night was over and they did not sing. Ive been trying every year I come here and I never get called to sing.
Denise was very prompt, kind and attentive. Jordan makes some killer cocktails too! Great place and atmosphere.
I came here with my friends and had the absolute BEST server I have had in a long time! Madison was such a sweet heart and really took care of us and was extremely attentive to our table despite how busy they were! I will definitely be returning to see her and recommending rising star to all my friends as well. Thanks Madison for such an amazing night!! ❤️
OMG!!! I LOVE THIS PLACE! I just turned 18 last summer and had never really gone out anywhere, this was an awesome first time night experience. Here are a few of my points. I went on NYE.1. It is located in the citywalk, and it took some time to find it (I was already familiar with the citywalk because I’m a universal pass holder…just not this side)…when you come into the city walk, go all the way left and upstairs. For those who don’t know, citywalk is free and safe!!! You have to go through security to get in. Which was a plus for me (I’m always super concerned about my safety)2. Once you get in, there’s no coverage fee. It’s 21+ Monday-Thursday (I think?) and 18+ Friday-Sunday. The bar is right in the front, I just got a sprite which was $4.50…water is free though and there’s no in house restaurant…I think you can order food though from the neighboring restaurant.3. The floor is tables set up for VIP which you have to reserve. I frankly had more fun upstairs. There was less people and more room to dance! (Don’t need to reserve for upstairs). The atmosphere was awesome! I am a big girl so I can definitely tell when vibes are off! The host, Brittany was so cute and I loved her energy!4. When singing, you get backup singers who help you. Everyone is so super supportive! My friend sang when we went and she killed it! They usually have music for about 30/45 mins and then take a 15 min well deserved break.Overall, I love this place and I can’t wait to come back!!!
Absolutely the place for karaoke fanatics! I took an 8 hour drive; cause I’m crazy and I love karaoke. Live band! Did not disappoint. The $7 charge isn’t bad. Everyone there is extremely nice! Jordan and Jaime those ladies are the best! The host Bingo he holds the whole show together and accompanies you! It’s a busy place but they do their absolute best to get everyone up on that stage! It’s so good that sill now be taking a trip there once a year!
The one star is for the waitress and waiter!!!!!!!!!! I love this place, but I dont like the attitude, Tom, Madison, and Teresa, especially Tom, watched us as we walked in and was seated. They never, all three came to our table and asked if we wanted to order, but we wanted them take orders all around us, I refused to stop either of them, because I would have to give them a tip.....which that wasnt going to happen. I have never experienced this type of behavior.
Worst experience drinking out. At first walking in the staff was very courteous and nice, they made us feel comfortable. The place wasnt too packed at first, my friend filled out a card and didnt get a chance to sing and it took quite awhile until we decided to leave. I would have given it four stars if it werent for the fact that I got a bit drunk after a few drinks. Then I accidentally spilled my drink. The waitress came over with an annoyed face, I understand why shed be disgruntled but I wasnt rude to her at all. I was more embarrassed than anything. She took the glass and left, I thought she would come back with napkins or a towel because my drink spilled on me but she never came back and I sat embarrassed, cold and wet for such a small mistake. My husband assured me that I wasnt rude, lively if anything. I was enjoying my time until that happened. My message to this place is for them to inform their employees that youll have to deal with drunks, its a BAR. To treat their customers with respect and a good attitude unless they say or do something offensive. Im so disappointed with the customer service.
Empty on a Wednesday night but we might have been early. Good stage and looked like good lights and sound system.
This is the 4th time Ive come here for a special occasion in a row and not been chosen to sing. I have such a great time, but 4 times in a row idk what Im doing wrong to not be chosen. We tried getting here early last time we got here at 8pm and still didnt get to sing. This time showed up at 9 didnt get to sing. It should be 1st come first serve unless they leave, but its just random and the fact that random has ruined so many of my trips our it makes me want to not come anymore.... I hope that the problem resolves itself, or you might loose a customer who comes quite often for life...
This was a very fun experienceNot what i was expecting for a karaoke bar. The drinks, the entertainment, and atmosphere was amazeballs. The only downside is they dont serve food after 11 which is blasphemy.... You cant put a timer on my stomach! Awesome place though... Totally going back
I went here for my wifes birthday. Made a reservation over the phone, the concierge lady said the reservation was made. Show up and apparently the reservation didnt actually go through. So a party of 5 was at this packed place with no table. I was not happy.I went to talk to the seating manager, explained my situation and they worked hard to find us a table. Eventually they found us a decent high top. The server was attentive and the kereoke was a blast. In the end we were happy and pleased. I will definitely come back, but make sure I get a confirmed reservation and make sure that I get the concierges name so they are held accountable if my reservation falls through again.
Drinks are incredibly expensive after the cover charge, and the three times I’ve been here I’ve never been chosen to sing karaoke (even for my birthday). Servers are very nice and the liquor is good, but I’d really like for them to change how they chose their karaoke songs. Hoping for a better experience next time I’m here!
The food option were extremely limited and I came to hear people sing karaoke 🎤 not to watch the background singers take a break longer then the people actually sung.I felt like I spent more time looking at a empty stage due to the long backup singers breaks.I did really like how the seating and stage was set up and how they tried to follow the cdc guidelines. I appreciated that.
Denise was a wonderful server!!!! We LOVED being here to celebrate our friends Bachelorette party!!! The music is so much fun and our MC ALL Night Mike is seriously the BEST EVER, SO MUCH FUN!!!!We can’t wait to come back!!
Im a florida resident and visited city walk many times, but never went to rising star. Had a blast. Only thing I did not like is that once you drop your name and song pick in the bucket you not made know the song has already been sung before you even entered the building. You should have a display somewhere showing the songs that were already sung so a person could choose wisely. My date had two song choices and we sat for 2 hours enjoying the karoke talent and he never got on the stage to display and show off his talent. Otherwise great night..we be back soon, hopefully a chance to be on stage.
Denise and jordan gave our group excelent service all night. Very polite, helpful and prompt. The overall atmosphere at this bar is great.
Denise was amazing, took care of our groups every need. Absolve and beyond and a drink in my hand anytime I needed one. Very very impressed
Sign up early to sing 3 hours later. Still wasnt called upt so had to go talk to them about. It come to find out can you pick a song that somebody already sang then they wont pick you to sing?
This place is awesome and will have you laughing if you go on a really good night. Yea it can be funny to laugh at people when they get drunk and sing, however there are people who come here and perform really well and its those moments that you enjoy the most because there are definitely everyday people walking around that can actually sing really good.
2nd time visiting. This time was better than the first as they had a live band playing the songs! Atmosphere is always a good vibe!
My wife and I visited Rising Star on my 30th birthday. Our server Brent was amazing! He was really quick with getting our drinks and very personable, even though he was also handling a lot of other tables too. (Including a table that was less than polite towards him) Didnt have to wait too long to get to sing and had a great birthday there. Will definitely head back next time Im in Orlando.
Had the best time with my friends on my 21st birthday! The song list was great and I’m no singer but I sure had a fun time on stage! The entire staff was beyond amazing specifically Tom and salima! I’m so glad I came and can’t wait to come back!!! :)
This place is the BEST karaoke bar Ive ever been to. AND Ive been several in Nashville. Its always extremely entertaining! Cant wait to go back
I am blown away by the superior customer service and the kind and friendly staff. I had a plan to propose to my girlfriend while celebrating our anniversary. The general manager made the song was perfect and the performers were all prepared. The song was great and the proposal went flawlessly. Giana was our server and was very attentive and prompt with her service. Even when she had other guest to take care of she made it feel as if she was our exclusive server. Very professional! Over all this place is amazing and I will keep coming back for the service and the excellent entertainment. Thank you for making our special weekend so much more spectacular!!! Sincerely a forever customer -Luis Nazario and future Mrs. Kimberly Nazario
The place is fun but we sat there for 3 hours waiting for my husband to sing. 2 girls went up 3 times in those three hours but my husband never got the chance to do karaoke. It was a waste of time and money waiting for his turn. Finally decided to just leave and spoke to the manager who stated he was sorry but didnt pay attention to who sang and who didnt sing.
Paid 7$ as a cover fee, that’s fine. But as soon as I walk in they take a 30 minute break. It’s fine that the live band gets a break, but they immediately played music over the speaker. If they had speakers, why couldn’t we just sing with that instead of just waiting around? But whatever, I can wait patiently. It hits 1:25am, and I finally see my name as 4th. But then all of a sudden I see “Have a Good Night” in front of me. I assumed that was the end of the night, but instead they let someone who was after me go. 1. Why does the website say it closes at 2 if they actually close at 1:30? If the band needs time to leave, then again, use the speakers. 2. Why do these random people get special privileges? It would’ve been fine if it was the next people then I wouldn’t be as upset but they skipped others. When I tried to ask the host, they didn’t even let me walk on the stairs. And when I tried to talk to one of the band he ignored me unless he was telling me to not stand on the stairs. I just wish I could understand, someone please help me to understand.
The song selection for Karaoke 🎤 is very culturally biased against black artist. 5% of the songs in the book are popular black artist and only ballads. Didn’t used to be like this back a few years ago.
Wouldn’t recommend for a bachelorette party. Spent $80 for bottle water without asking if we wanted a glass of water instead. Plus our bride didn’t get to sing at all. Tasha could’ve been more professional since we spent $400 plus when we were told that was the only way we could get in was to pay for bottle service which was a minimum of $250. Ive worked in the industry, and couldnt believe the lack of respect considering our situation. Place is a joke. LET PEOPLE KNOW THE TRUTH BEFORE SEATING THEM. I would have rather spent my money else where knowing how we got cheated out of our money.
I was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved this place, we went about 1130 pm on a Saturday night and had a group of 8 people. It was Packed! Not surprisingly, no one from our group got picked to sing but the odds were not in our favor. I did find it really strange though that out of all of the people that went up on stage... only one duo couldnt carry a tune. The rest of the people were like seasoned rock stars for sure. I approached one of the guys who sang outside the club and just told him how much I loved his performance of an ACDC classic. He was like oh yeah I sing here all the time. I thought that was really weird. But anyways this place is definitely worth going to you will have a blast. But go later, otherwise you will just listen to a bunch of prerecorded tracks. ALSO!! The back up singers and host really made the show, the pair of gorgeous blonde girls behind each person were really talented and I was very impressed by the production of it all.
Rising star recently reopened due to COVID closures and let me just say, it was AMAZING!! We felt incredibly safe, socially distanced and masked are enforced, but it had no impact on the great time we had! It was great to be back and while new rules are in place, it is the same experience and awesome time out!! Please watch out for their Facebook page to see their next opening so you can reserve a table!
We stopped in for a bite and a drink tonight. George was our server, he was GREAT! He Was on top of refills and checked back a few times to make sure we were good but let us enjoy the entertainment. We will be back!
Had a good time. Went there for my birthday. They only serve pizza (just average) but the drinks were good.
The Singing was fun and all but the waiters took a very long time to even give the menu to order and took even longer to return our credit card or finish the order.
When I heard about this place I was very excited because I love to sing, but walking in was a different story I was very disappointed let me start by saying that you dont get to pick your own song. They have a list of songs for you to pick second its not a guarantee that you will get to sing, because the picks are random third the drinks are 13 dollars for a 6 oz glass of wine. I walked out of this place very upset I waited 3 hours for my name to be called and it never happened if your going to come to this place make sure you are the first one before they open the doors. The only good thing was the pizza and the backup Singers and the crowd other then that I will never waste my time here again.
A lot of fun! Was in Orlando for a business trip and we stumbled upon this place! For as busy as they were, I was surprised there was only 1 bartender. However, he was keeping pace with every order. I was highly impressed with his service. The host and backup singers were great.
Visited the Rising Star for the first time ever last night (8/23/19). Such a fun and awesome experience. Karaoke was really fun and our waitress Ivenna was so awesome, funny, cheerful and such a pleasure. Check this place out. Had lots of fun.
As a huge karaoke fan, I dont think you could ask for much more out of a locale. The MC, Band, Backup singers/dancers ... all fantastic! Obviously the song selection is limited (150-200 choices) given all the factors that go into a Live Band presentation - but youll still recognize almost everything on the list. Above all, I need to show some serious love to JORDAN - shes the extremely personable and talented blonde bombshell working behind the bar. She went out of her way to help ensure that I snuck on the performance list during a packed Saturday. Also, DAN the man is a pro with some serious drink pouring skills. The whole bartending staff is fantastic and they get everyone taken care of quickly. Listen, Ill be honest, you may not even get to sing if this place is packed and you arrive after 10:30pm, but it always offers awesome people-watching and is equally well suited to be a great pregame or end-of-night spot. Regardless... if you see JORDAN or DAN, make sure to snag a drink from them - you absolutely wont be disappointed.
Tom our server was lovely, he was the star. Over 3 hour wait to not be called up for a song and the band is on another break- 3 breaks in 2 hours? Either this place needs a new system for songs or a new band. I have never waited so long for karaoke, even in Manhattan-skip this place. Why did I have to pay $7/person to never be called up to sing once? The bathroom was dirty as well.
Its a nice place. But the system to get call to sign is unstable. Nobody on my table got call! And we were from 8pm to 1am. But if you wanna drink and see others sign is a good option. The food is okay.
They SUCK!! Bad experience before I could even step foot inside. Unfortunately, current management doesnt know how to manage reservations and clearly does not GAF about the business. Contacted Universals guest services department and they apologized on their behalf but were unable to assist because Rising Star is not part of Universal, they are a separate entity apart from Universal only running their business in City Walk. So we brought our group elsewhere. So many other wonderful karaoke places to visit that treat prospective customers so much better. Note to owner: FIND NEW MANAGEMENT. If this type of service continues, you will not get repeat customers and it will slowly go out of business. KARMA IS REAL!
My experience here is always hit or miss. I always walk in and pick and spit and enjoy the shows and get drinks at other spots and come back in. But this time I had a server (teresa) and she was nothing short of amazing. She recommended drinks so I wouldnt go get a hurricanes from Pats. She recommended different shots. Seriously shell be the reason why I come back with bigger parties cuz now Im confident in the service.
One of the best Karaoke Bars Ive ever been to. They have a full stage with a live band and great back up singers. They make you feel like a real rockstar! The drinks were good. be careful of the moonshine shots ;).
I love going to rising star! It’s a fun atmosphere and I’m always greeted with a smile! If you go I suggest asking for Madi as your server! If you’re at the bar Raquel makes the best drinks! They are so friendly and know a lot of about the drinks!
Love the atmosphere ! Our server was very attentive. I wish I remembered her name. She was awesome! Great place to hang out ! Felt safe and carefree on a Saturday night crowd. Keep it up Rising Star!
Very disappointed. The bartenders that worked Sunday was very disrespectful 😒. I never felt so embarrassed in my life. She took my drink from me because I was taking to long to get my money out. I didnt want to pay with my card because I was from other state It would be declined so I was getting cash out .She said she have other people to serve. PLEASE DO BETTER.
I can’t say enough great things about this place! We live next to Universal and the CityWalk. For some odd reason we had never been into the Rising Star Karoke. We have totally been missing out! We had friends visiting from out of town and stumbled on this place after having dinner at the CityWalk. We had so much fun and were treated like VIPs! Poe was a fantastic DJ and Denise took excellent care of us and even told us to come back the next night for New Year’s Eve. We did and it was once again amazing! Denise and Ashley once again took great care of us and made our night spectacular! This will be our new favorite places to go for fun as well as food. The chicken wings are seriously some of the best that we have had! All of the other food was amazing as well. If you are local or visiting Orlando soon, you don’t want to miss out on this awesome place!
Wonderful time with friends and family. Very entertaining and fun!!!! Great experience!!! Staff was fantastic and the Singers and band and stage crew outstanding!!! Love love love!!!! My daughter was the first audience singer of the night and rocked it!!!! ❤Thank you for great memories!!!
Went here for my 21st, and it was quite possibly the worst night out of my life. Toilets were dirty, kids throwing up, bouncers were aggressive. I give it 2 stars only for the location.
First I only went because I was part of a group taking someone there for her bday. Normally I would have never set foot in here. But glad I did....Place was pretty cool. Room was great. Light show and smoke machines. 85% of the people singing are real talent the other 15% had a couple extra drinks and just went for it. We had a rez for 15 people. It was ready when we got there staff was great as well all showed up at different times and they just showed each of us to our table. Service was way above expectations and so were the drinks. They only serve pizza but it is really good wood over pie. Everyone in the place just wanted to have fun. People dancing in the isles and the balcony and vip areas where just tearing it up. Energy was high and people watching was A+.Only downside 1 song per person (which I get but still a bummer) and it is pricey if youre not used to city club prices etc. If you like karaoke you will love this! If youre not a huge fan (like me) you will still love this... its a must do on city walk.
