Everything is great, except theres no ice or machines for it. the tvs and channels are so old I couldnt even make my 5 kids happy for bedtime....was stressful. other than that- the room is kinda small- I felt it was way hyped but its pretty tiny for what we thought and the tour we seen. will pry switch to the resort due to the fact that it had way more space than this one. nice and up to date though love the look and style. refreshing from the resort. staff is friendly and accommodating. 8/10 recommend
This was our first trip here and we enjoyed every bit of it. The staff greeted us with smiles and were so happy and friendly. Everyone was super nice!!! We loved our suite. Everything was nice and clean. One of the staff members gave us a few recommendations of things to do with our kids and the kids loved all of it!!!! The pool was great, we utilized the grill they have too. We will definitely be returning!!!!
We had several issues with this place. But I will start with the pros. The location is perfect for Universal Studios Orlando, we were there in 5 minutes. The Pool and Jacuzzi were good, they finished the day off nicely. The views were great. We saw fireworks every night before bed. Cons: the AC broke on the second from last day on vacation, they sent somebody to fix it the morning we were leaving. It was a uncomfortable 78 degrees the last 2 nights. We had a studio. So we had a King size bed and on the other end of the studio we had 2 twin beds. In the master bedroom THERE WAS NO AC VENT! The twin bedroom had a huge vent, they were freezing all night. I called the desk and they argued that there was infact a vent, I needed to look closer. I argued back. The guy they sent to fix the AC was adamant all rooms have AC vents, then when I showed him he was speechless. This place needs attention to detail. They slapped this hotel together so fast to make a quick buck. Dont even get me started on the poolside drinks, they are astronomical with their prices. This is definitely a hard pass next time I come to town. Try and find an AC vent in the photos I submitted!
It is very well maintained and very clean. The suites are just as shown in the pictures. They are stocked with all the items you need for your stay, including laundry detergent, washer dryer, dishwasher detergent, pots & pans, silverware, toaster etc. the pool area is very nice and so well maintained. The pool is large enough for kids to splash around without adults being impacted. They don’t have normal housekeeping daily but you can text or call for anything you need. Overall an amazing place to stay! Just minutes from Universal.
We just got back home from a week long vacation to the palace, we had an amazing time! We are so thankful for the staff and the GM at the Palace! We didn’t get to the Westgate till late in the night, by the time we unpacked and 10hour drive was beat it was time for a shower and bed, I noticed when showering the shower head was shooting a little water over the doors, it being late I said I would address the issue the next morning. So went downstairs the next morning, I spoke with Maryleen (I’m terrible with names so forgive me) she was great about it and would get us fixed right up… fast forward 5 minutes and I’m getting my coffee at the restaurant in lobby (side note has the BEST Philly in my opinion in Orlando) the GM approached us and forgive me I think it’s Greg or Phil but he says I’m very sorry about y’all’s issue we are going to upgrade you and make it right, I was amazed! So generous at making our week very comfortable and so enjoyable! Devi or Dezi again sorry about the names YOU are so nice and explained everything to a T! Loved our trip and yiu 3 made it so much more enjoyable! Thank you all for a great stay! The Palace is a beautiful place to visit so laid back and in the perfect location! I recommend while the family is in the pool near supper time firing up the grill with the amazing lake view and soak it all in! Thanks again Chad
NOT FOR YOUNG CHILDREN! We stayed on 11th floorThe fire alarm went off and staff was investigating why so the elevators were closed off and we had to take the stairs NOT ideal with young kids in towThe villa is small and cramped and not kid friendly the kitchen counter is literally a two foot space from the couch theres no where to put your food no available cabinet bring your own skillet only two pots there the kitchen design is awful not user friendly at all!The floor is hard slippery flooring walk with careMy son couldn’t move around much which was hard because with daily rain we couldn’t be outside much. The breakfast was mediocreThe pool was nice but I wish they would play family friendly music! The staff is really friendly and accommodating but we wouldn’t stay here again.
Reception lady was really lovely and veey friendly. Rooms ok but nothing overly special. Not sure why but there is an odd almost damp smell to our room. Not had a chance to use the bar or play basketball as when we get back from a day out they are closed.Overall, great location for parks. Ok for us as we only here for a place to sleep. Wouldnt stay here if I wanted to stay at the hotel during the day.
This is a fantastic location near MCO and Universal for weekend visitors, where you can experience a vibrant and tropical stay for a reasonable price. We found the staff to be very pleasant and the amenities enjoyable - take a rest in the pool or hot tub, or enjoy an evening in the arcade. The rooms themselves were spacious and well-kept, with the only real issues being thin walls and lower quality beds. Would definitely stay here again, and certainly recommend for families looking for both comfort and budget-friendly hotels.
Do yourself & your family a favor & PLEASE STAY ELSEWHERE! we came here for 6 nights to celebrate my daughters birthday at the orlando theme parks & our stay here the worst part of the trip.dated furniture/TVs. cheap furnishes. toiletries are terrible for your skin & hair. dishes are dirty. spotty wifi. etc.there is no restaurant on site which forces you to either use uber eats or doordash if you are exhausted in the mornings or evenings after vacation nights. however, the front desk staff absolutely refuses to hold food delivery orders in their lobby so make sure you are glued to your phone to watch for delivery ETAs so you can meet your driver! otherwise you will be chastised by staff who give you courtesy calls to let you know your driver has arrived.since we stayed here for 6 nights, it would have been nice to receive at least one day of housekeeping, but no, despite our request, it was never done. in fact, they lied & said they didnt do it at all then changed their answer to we do it on a case-by-case basis with 24 hours notice.i had an unpleasant encounter with their front desk lady & security over the aforementioned food delivery service issue so they called me to confirm we would be out of the room so they could clean. fair enough, so this was confirmed & they still didnt deliver on their promises. the beds werent even made. they just threw a pile of clean towels on the counter. literally a weeks worth for a big family & our check out is tomorrow.i naturally complained. no resolution from so-called manager michelle at night. i could voice your concern to someone during the day time but they will probably just say sorry like i did.dont stay here. this place sucks.
Small, almost useless gym, elevator from main tower not working, smallish pool. They don’t have the best shuttle service to and from Universal Studios. Wi fi drops frequently!Water pressure not great. Was like pulling teeth to get them to change the channel on the main tv at the bar!Rooms are quiet and beds are comfy though. They provide cheap toilet paper but plenty of towels upon request.Basketball courts are very small and the volleyball courts are small and not well kept.We also had an occurrence where a bathroom hood vent fell off the ceiling randomly -almost striking me while in the bathroom. They sent 4 people to look at it and were apologetic and replaced it, but yeah, could have been worse!
Positive Review But Will Only Return When the Changes Are Reversed. This is my second time staying at Westgate Palace. Stayed in 2019,.. it was Fab. Roll on 2024 and so much has changed for the worst. For those never been there theyll know no different but i need to be honest, as i was with the Receptionist when i was checking out (she is from the Philippines). Its a gated resort now, where when i stayed in Tower A in 2019 you could cut across to walk up carrier drive, this is the gap between Westgate and Enclave. That is no longer there so you have to exit the MAIN GATE and they start the walk up carrier drive, it adds to the journey. At the back of Tower B you can exit but you cannot re-enter, you need to used the MAIN GATE,...... again adds to the walk.No more flyers been left under your room door - obviously the gate community entrance has taken care of that and you also need a key card to enter the towers. What i feel should be 2 smaller pedestrian gates (at Tower B to the left and Tower A to the right) where your room key could open / scan allowing you back onto the property. The reception has a make over as had the rooms,... wow they look great and are bright.Drafts bar / food court,... what a disappointment. Food is fab, but they close too early, 3pm close. back in 2019 you could food at 9pm at night to eat by the pool side with my family, this is no longer the case. I just want to mention MICHAEL who works in the kitchen of the food court, on my first day i was late down for bagels etc,.. and he was will to make me and my family breakfast bagels, which was very nice of him to do. They were so delicious, however there was another time where i spent $70 on Pizzas / Tenders / O-Rings and they were over cooked / burnt, I guess it was down to it been ordered at 2.14pm and it closes at 3pm, so a rush was probably put on it. Was never to eat at the hotel during the rest of my vacation. Note attached is an image taken from the inside of the elevators the food / beverages is nothing like they are in that image. The hotel is CASHLESS,.. what is going on there. Cash is king and always will be,.. you need to sort that out. Not everybody wants to pay with card. The staff are great as are the amenities but the changes that were made should be undone,.. it says a lot when the staff agree with you.Just to note for the visitor RESORT fee per night is $21.99 with a tax of $2.75.The shuttle bus to take you to Universal,.. Mmmmm that doesnt sit well with me at all,.... Dont like the way you have to book / Scan for a place on the bus,... my first time booking was booked out for 2 days,......Had to go to Surfside in and get the universal bus there which i found this great, so good that Surfside / Dockside is a place of interest for my return.
I loved my stay with my family and will be coming back! Resort is beautiful..clean..with so many things for the family to do. There is a basketball court..an arcade..pool..dock overlooking a lahe..fitness center. The room was so clean and spacious. It was like a small 2 bedroom aparrment. It was also really close to everything so very convenient. The staff was also very attentive and friendly. My stay was perfect and i reccommend this hotel to anyone going to Orlandoml
Me and my 2 boys stayed at Westgate Palace July 9th thru the 16th and I do not have one complaint. When I needed anything from the front desk I received it within 10 to 15 mins max. It was quiet, very clean and I adored how the appliances and shower was updated. The televisions worked ), wifi was good and it was within 5mins or 12mins from anything I needed. I walked to the 24hr Walgreens. The pool area was clean, safe and the staff was very polite. Summer 2025 me and my family will boom here again.
Rooms are so good, and great view of universal studios! They have vending machines here with good snacks but they require exact change, and the only other bad things are that the pool music was too loud, and the wifi is trash and disconnects a lot.
Super amazing place, I love the hotel, the room super clean and very comfortable. Staff super nice and very professional. You are early to everything. In my 10 years travel to Orlando this is the best place I visit there . Recommend 500%
I was a little skeptical after reading some negative reviews about this location! I’m now convinced that there are just some people who like to complain and they won’t ever be happy! My family and I enjoyed a 4 night stay over Spring Break and have nothing negative to say! My children are teens and there was more than enough space for all of us! I loved that they had a separate bathroom (2bd delux) Check in was amazing! The front desk attendant was very attentive and informative! We even got a call the next morning to see how our night was! THATS customer service! The pool was nicely heated and not crowded at all! The location is prime for Universal Studios and most restaurants! I would definitely recommend and return! The remodel is amazing
If we knew that those tickets would land us stuck in this headache, we would have refused the invitation. If you’ve been told you can make thousands of dollars if only you just buy a timeshare too, don’t buy a single word of it. They told us we would be able to make money by renting this to other people and could get $6200 for weeks rented. Don’t do it. We haven’t made any money off it neither have we been able to use it. I don’t even think they understand the impact of paying for something you can never use. No morals. Anyone with morals could see that as a business this contract should be abolished but the only thing they can say is something about evidence as if they didn’t already know. How is anyone ok with what’s happening?? Gift wrapping nightmares (timeshare) and disgusing this as a dream.
My family’s stay at Westgate Palace Hotel / Universal took an unfortunate turn on the second evening of our visit. Initially, our experience was satisfactory, but issues began to surface that significantly marred our impression of the hotel.Firstly, a group of young individuals loitered by a key access door, seemingly waiting to tailgate us into the building. This occurrence made my family feel extremely unsafe, raising concerns about the hotel’s security measures to prevent unauthorized access.Later that evening, the discomfort continued as we encountered individuals distributing pizza delivery pamphlets right inside the elevator—a clear breach of guest privacy and security. The situation escalated when one of these pamphlets was slid under our door around 11:30 PM, accompanied by several knocks, further disturbing our peace. To compound the frustration, on our checkout morning, we found two of the hotel elevators out of service. The available elevators were predominantly occupied by hotel staff, significantly delaying our ability to move freely and efficiently pack our belongings to leave. It took us 30 minutes to go from the 12th floor to finally exit the building, an inconvenience that added unnecessary stress to our departure. These series of events, from security concerns to inadequate consideration for guest convenience, have left us disappointed. While the first night showed promise, the subsequent lack of professionalism and guest safety measures has led us to decide against future stays at this hotel chain.
High hopes but the room I received is awful. Stayed in a 2 bedroom villa. It may not apply to all the rooms, but I see some reviews with the same complaints as me. The first thing I noticed when I entered my room is that it was dirty. Dusty floors with hair, dirty sinks and counters. Stained bed sheets and chairs. Almost everything was dirty. The bedsheets made my skin breakout in rashes and the bed itself is just really uncomfortable. Plus the “blanket” for the bed is a throw blanket in between two sheets…come on. The only reason I wouldn’t give it a 1/5 is because it’s a hotel and serves its purpose. The experience is just uncomfortable and disappointing.
Our family had a wonderful week at Westgate, and the overall experience was truly memorable. The views added an extra layer of charm from the moment we checked in until we left. Westgates dedication to prompt service, particularly the timely provision of towels and trash removal, was admirable. Our only challenge, however, was sleep. Unfortunately, the sofa mattress was not comfortable, so I had to relocate to the room I shared with my siblings. While this solution sacrificed some privacy, the hotels overall cleanliness and the convenience of preparing our own meals made up for the inconvenience.Westgate stands out as an exceptional destination, with a well-deserved rating of 5 out of 5.
We had a wonderful stay, staff was all super friendly, everything was clean, beautiful pool area and perfect location!
Stayed here for a weekend vacation with my daughter. We both had a blast. The location was centrally situated near International Drive (I-drive). The room was immaculate. We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom upgraded suites. It was nicely furnished, both bedrooms were large and had its own bathroom attached. The beds were comfortable. The unit was equipped with washer and dryer, dishwasher and full kitchen appliances. The pool was heated. The hot tub was larger and appeared to be able to host 8-10 people comfortably. I definitely would recommend this place for an extended stay. The front desk service was A1. The building was secure with key card access only. We stayed on the 18th floor in building B. The room was nice with a city view. The resort has a restaurant although we didn’t try it. I don’t remember seeing a bar. The only drawback from this resort is the parking is tricky in the evening. They did provide a late night shuttle to the over flow parking which is a block or two away. The shuttle did run every few minutes so there was not much of a wait.
We chose to book a room at the Westgate Palace using their “timeshare tour” discount. This gave us a 3-night stay in a 2-bedroom villa for the very reasonable price of $169 total (or only $69 if you count the $100 gift card given with the timeshare presentation).I will say the rooms themselves are quite large compared to your typical hotel room, and it is a very good deal with the tour discount, but I was left disappointed by some aspects. The rooms are set up kind of awkwardly, where even though they are large, the bedroom and bathroom in the “parents bedroom” is exceptionally cramped, while the kids bedroom and bathroom is very spacious in comparison. The furniture in the room felt dated and nearing its end-of-life. The leather couch was very scratched, the wooden bedroom sets were pretty beat up, and kitchen dishes, utensils and appliance provided felt like the absolute cheapest dollar-store quality they could find. The hot water in the rooms never got actually hot. If you turned the shower as hot as it would go, it would only ever get to just mildly warm.Probably the most eventful part of our stay at Westgate, a raccoon was found living up in the rain canopy above the restaurant bar in the pool area. We were out in the pool when we saw the security+maintenance team come to fix the issue. They decided to stack a few chairs up to ‘block’ the area, and set up a small trap on the ground. No closure to the pool or adjacent areas, even though they were only maybe 20 feet from the raccoon. 48 hours after they set the trap, they raccoon was still there, and the trap still set with the area quarantined with nothing but a few chairs. None of the staff seemed to feel the need to take any action beyond that.Parking at the hotel is also very difficult. The lot is much too small for the amount of rooms, so you have to park your car at a random lot behind a restaurant instead, and take their free ‘shuttle bus’ which was a beat up 2004 dodge grand caravan. The timeshare presentation that we were obligated to attend was fine. It was what I expected. Two hours of a salesman trying everything in their power to convince you to give them their money. After the stay I had in their hotel though it was pretty easy to say “no” to their sales pitch of endless wonderful vacations at the “spectacular” Westgate resorts. Ha.For the price of the stay with the discount, it was overall fine, but I certainly would not go out of my way to stay here again.
Not worth it. I do not recommend. Also, be careful purchasing their timeshare package under Florida law you have 10 days to cancel in writing.
Worst WiFi connection I’ve experienced in the last 10 years. I need the wifi for work and it’s so frustrating with it constantly disconnecting, and when it’s working it’s not good enough even for a WhatsApp video call. Forget about streaming a movie.
I stayed at this location 7700 westgate Blvd my 6 year old has adhd and my older son has bi polar. I was doing a tour and Branden Ruiz and Nellie from the welcome center said my children with a mental disorder who can’t stay still are not welcomed. They called security and me being in a wheelchairs and can not wheel myself was waiting for my sons uncle to come back from taking a walk with the boys they told me no wheel my self of the cops will be involved. I spoke to management and they laughed at my kids disorder. Discrimination against people with disabilities.
This place is nastyyy and dirty. The sheets and towels were dirty and dusty and my whole family was itchy because of them. The windows also dont open and I felt trapped. Its also kinda far from the Disney parks. ALSO, I left a pair of sandals that literally weigh not even an ounce and they want to charge me $30 to ship it back.
The best hotel ever stayed at with years of traveling. The service is 10/10, last year we came at around 1 AM and the kind receptionist was able to check us in and helped us so much and was so sweet and seemed genuinely excited. The rooms were beautiful and big. They were clean and the view was amazing. I had a view that overlooked the pool and lake behind it. The Starbucks employees were so nice and friendly. The security guards were one of the nicest people and funniest you will ever meet. The housekeepers were always on top and did their duties and kept the hotel perfectly clean and kept the towels stocked. The elevators are a little slow but I came last year so that might have changed. The arcade is nice. The bar restaurant thing had good service and no complaints with the food and everything came out quick and hot. The employees are just amazing and I would 100% book with Westgate again and you should too. The service is 100/10.
First time in America was Orlando west gate my first hotel I love it everyone was friendly nice place I will definitely go back there same place
Everything about this place was amazing. Only thing was that the hot tub didn’t seem to get very warm. In fact, the heated pool was warmer than the hot tub. Still though, the place was great.
We are kinda condo snobs, but they had recently got bought out and I am not sure if that is why everything was broke or ?? We were missing frying pans, the Iron didnt work. The fire pit was broke. I called 3 times to try to get a pan and iron. No go. Not a bad resort. Just not the best one we have been too. It was clean though. Pool area is nice .
I am bougie and I was highly impressed. The hospitality of the staff was exceptional. The rooms were perfect and with a view of universal. It was quiet with no loud neighbors and the place was packed. I would definitely stay here again!!!
I had stayed at this location 2018 . It was a disaster back then. Now I’m back , the place is all renovated, shining and beautiful throughout. I’m amazed with the work that took place …. Top of the line …. It was 60 degrees outside and the pool was all heated at 80 degrees. My kids had a blast , We stay 2 nights and couldn’t recommend more… the best place … Thank You.
Westgate Palace staff do an outstanding job. They respond to your needs quickly. The resort rooms are very clean. Pool area kept spotless. The food is very good in their Drafts restaurant. The rooms were nicely remodeled . Our only complaint is that they put the old furniture back in the remodeled rooms. The couch was completely worn out. The dresser drawers were falling apart. If the furniture matched the new remodeled room, I would have given the resort a 5 and not a 4.
* DO NOT GET SCAMMED INTO BECOMING A TIMESHARE OWNER* Oh boy, where do I start? PLEASE BE AWARE. This place is totally not worth the money, Im HIGHLY disappointed in the rooms, service and overall experience with this establishment. Dirty, old, out-date rooms ,windows were DISGUSTING. Couches are the same one red ones from 10 years ago with severe wear and tear. They dont offer cleaning unless you request 24 hours in advance LOL. During the week, deli closes at 4:30 PM. Front desk didnt have any toothpaste like a normal hotel/resort - wouldnt sell me any from the deli as they were closed so I had to door dash it. Basketball they offered to play with was an old orange one, like seriously you cant even spend 20-25 bucks to get a real ball??Bed were atrocious. Disgusting, old and worn out. Worst 4 nights of sleep ever and everything smelled like wet, old garbage. Please do not spend your money here. You will be sorry and wished you stayed somewhere else.
The room upgrades gives it a newer feel. It comes equipped with (almost) everything you need for a comfortable stay. The beds and pillows are extremely comfortableMy family enjoyed the pool(s) and small park area. Everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating. We cooked a lot and it was very comfortable. The room was clean. However, please pay closer attention to corners and crevices.(floor and behind things). We seen a little build up in our room and you don’t want that to get out of hand. The sofa/sofa bed is old and could use replacing. We know (most) sofa beds are not built for comfort, but the bed made so much noise. (The little ones slept on it). Something has to be broken.Rm 1505BNov 3rd-6th2brm suite
Rooms were just fine; everything worked as it should. Beds very comfy and air con in August was wonderful. Customer service was typically America, i.e. top notch and nothing was too much trouble. Location was great for Universal and plenty of bus routes next to the hotel. Would certainly go back if had the chance. Just watch out for the hard sell (very) for the time share.
Westgate Resorts are awesome, friendly staff always makes our stay feel special. Thank you
I wasnt sure what to expect as the Yelp reviews of this resort are mixed, but this place was absolutely beautiful. The resort was perfectly maintained, very clean, looked better than the pictures, and exceeded my expectations by a long shot. I travelled here with three teenagers and having a suite with two bedrooms plus the roll out bed was perfect as we had plenty of room to spread out a bit and get very comfortable. There was also so much to do here and the kids enjoyed swimming at the pool, the arcade area, and the mini theater. I personally enjoyed laying out in the sun and enjoying drinks poolside from the outdoor bar . It was a blast !This place was also right in the thick of things, and only minutes away from prime time attractions. We were there for Universal, and it was wonderful being only minutes away from the theme park. Also, the bad reviews others left about them trying to sell timeshares are excessive and unnecessary -- yes they do offer you discounted park tickets if you listen to a presentation, however, once I mentioned I already had tickets they promptly moved on! Just tell them youre not interested and theyll go on about their merry way people!!! All of the employees were very friendly, very professionall and were a pleasure during our stay. Do not let the critical reviews scare you!!!! I highly recommend this resort and will book again next time Im in the area! Thanks for making my weekend stay amazing Westgate!!!
Me and my family are staying here for the new year…. Nice 2 bedroom suite HOWEVER the beds need major help…hard as bricks … fully functional kitchen…. Hindsight being 20/20 should have stayed at their other property westgate lakes. It had MUCH more to offer this was disappointing… the whole time we were here the bar was closed and we had to call for towels and sheets i find that disappointing for the money we paid. Broom and no mop btw
I booked a 2 bedroom villa…I loved everything about this resort, the rooms are BEYOND nice. Loved the full kitchen to cook and enjoy breakfast/dinner The amenities are top tier, lovely view. Room was very spacious. I enjoyed the movie theater, pool & bar downstairs. 10 out 10! I will definitely be returning .
Need to update the beds, we sink into the bed right away. When you wake up the next morning, you feel the pain with your neck or on your back. My family came to visit for a week and two of them had neck and hip problems just the first night at the hotel and they went to see a chiropractor the 2nd day coz it was too painful. The location was nice but please do update your mattress!
This is an amazing hotel! We had a full kitchen, living room, 2 very nice bathrooms and 2 nice bedrooms. We had an amazing view from the 18th floor of hogwarts at universal! The staff is super friendly and the security gives a feeling of calm and safety. Highly recommend
Wifi doesnt work, Rooms are so small you can barely walk around, Beds feel like bricks, pillows feel like plastic, the only place comfortable is the couch. 11th floors wifi cannot reach, neither service. Wouldnt recommend. The location is near Universal which is a plus.
Wow, what can I say about this property. The property was gated, nice and secure. The location was great for Universal and the uber there was $6 without all the hassle. The room was clean and boy the price for two bedrooms and a full kitchen was pretty nice. Pool was nice and right on the lake with wildlife, seating and grills. The staff was super nice and helpful. This is the second Westgate resort we stayed at and I am impressed. Long story short the first stay was because an airbnb turned into a nightmare. At almost midnight we had no options because of a convention in town, however, Westgate was there. They immediately responded and comforted my girlfriend and myself assuring us everything was going to be okay. They got us a suite at their property in Kissimmee and were awesome. So, after this second stay we are fans! Hopefully you have as awesome of an experience as I have because they really have treated us well.
The hotel is really a great price(I got a Friday and Saturday night for a great price via Priceline). The previous night I booked a three star that was beyond dirty and overall just scary. This hotel was a breathe of fresh air from the start. My friend and I loved that we each had our own room and bathroom! A few things to keep in mind though...The location isnt bad but isnt great, either. You really need a car to get around. However if you have a car you have the risk of having to park in overflow parking about a mile away and have a shuttle take you to the hotel. I took my friend to the airport at 4am just to come back at 5am for them to try and tell me I have to go park in overflow. NOPE, they need valet or a better parking system in place. This isnt a huge issue but seems they havent handled their lack of parking well. The bar has a great menu where a souvenir cup is $16-$20 and refills are $12-$15. I got a giant margarita and then had it filled with a Long Island... wow! The pool was really nice but unfortunately the sun was blocked by the building at 2pm.Again, the rooms were awesome and done really nice. The kitchen is an upgrade from the one in my apartment! The couch and coffee table seemed very outdated and didnt match the upgraded features. The room with twin beds has a nightstand in the middle that cant be moved so you cant move it to push the beds together(just FYI for if couples were going to share).
We were approached while in Universal Studios Orlando by an employee. He stated that if one or both of us is above the age of 25 we could come tour the hotel, get a free breakfast, and a free $150 cash gift for simply doing the tour and telling our friends. We have been in the Orlando area multiple times in the past couple years, and have more planned vacations ahead so we thought it was a good idea to do because we always love finding nice places to stay. Within the next year we have plans for 2 more trips to Florida. He rushed us through signings and point to what all we need to sign while he checked boxes for us and didnt give us a chance to read anything. We didnt think much of it because again, we wanted to do this mostly for finding places to stay throughout our times here.He took our deposit which stated had to be cash, cash app, or Venmo (red flags). This was $40 in total.Upon returning our hotel we finally got the chance to read through what he hurriedly made us sign and realized we were scammed. He told us just one of us had to be 25 or older, and that was purely it. The papers state that we BOTH have to be over the age of 28 (the oldest in our party is 27), have a major credit card, and make so much in income. NONE of this was stated to us. We were point blank lied to, and for what? We meet more than the income requirements, have no issues with the credit cards, but the fact the age part was lied about is the weirdest. Our genuine interest in the resort has been taken down and we would never recommend the place to anyone.I hope other people read this review and avoid this scam. Shame on this hotel.
Driving by and looking at the pictures online you would think its a nice place to spend your money. However, when I drove past this hotel I noticed very little cars and the surrounding area looks run down. I WOULD NOT AND DID NOT TRUST PARKING MY CAR HERE. I thought booking online went well, so I thought, after payment I recieved an email which stated additional fees will be charge on top of payment which can be undetermined (guess its what ever they want to charge extra), theres a nightly fee of $21.99 per night, a $50 or $200 deposit fee upon arrival. My final charge was so much higher than expected upon booking and I dont smoke and was a very clean person. Time shares is where they try to trap you so do not fall for this game. It is all upsale to get your money and you stuck in a contract. The only person who was direct and tried to be helpful was when I called at night for assistance, guy barely spoke english, but knew more customer service and was the best of everyone compared to the other unwelcoming personnel. Do your self and your family a favor so you can enjoy your vacation without feeling robbed/cheated, DO NOT BOOK HERE, save your money and go to some of the other hotels in the area which are much nicer and no hidden fees. Guess thats why the parking lot was so empty since other mustve had a bad experience too.
Just checked out: Overall not a bad experience but not the best. The pool is small and very overcrowded. Even though we were told it opens at 7, they were still cleaning it from 7-8 every morning. The activities were very mediocre and nothing my kids would be interested in. I never saw housekeeping around. NO FULL LENGTH MIRRORS. The sheets feel scratchy and on one of the twin beds, it was made but the sheet was just flipped inside out. There are no bathtubs. There is no shuttle to the parks or anywhere. We arrived on Saturday but the attraction desk was closed until Friday so we had to go to the lakes to buy our tickets where we didn’t really save much. The restaurants food wasn’t great, the wings were burnt and the onion rings weren’t the crispy style but at least the worker was very nice. It just wasn’t a high class experience esp since we are owners, I think we expected more, this is like a regular hotel so we’ll try to stay at a villa style next time. But the security was very nice as well and it’s close to a lot of food.
Most pleasurable experience during our stay. Room was clean and comfy. Stayed with my husband, three teenage girls, and dog. Staff was beyond nice and professional. We definitely look forward to visiting again. Thank you Westgate 😊
When i first got to this hotel i figure it was pretty nice and clean and i wasn’t expect to have problems with the hotel. For the last 3 day i been here i experienced the seen of two cockroaches and as well seen cracked tile in the elevator which bye the way isn’t good for safety. the pullout couch mattress isn’t as what i expect and it take me a full day to get my request of items such as towels, pillows, blankets and etc. this palace has high potential to be great but what i have experience haven’t been well.
Went to go paddle boating with very happy excited kids only to be told it was closed on that day which according to the hours on the site and their gate it was open that day. Went back the next day was told to come back in 20 minutes because their tablets were not charged . Only allowed out for 20 minutes on the paddle boat. Very rude: dryer did not work correctly. When it rained the roof was leaking on the top floor by the washer and dryer. Front desk never answered. But when we would go down all employees were sitting at the bar outside talking . We have a timeshare there that is not even worth having anymore. The hallways are like a sauna no air conditioning. We have been going there for more than 10 years and I have never been so disappointed as I was this time around . Nothing was open at the times it was supposed to be open. Always closed early . All around horrible experience there . Would not ever recommend staying there or even getting a timeshare there. Waste of money .
Could have been better but the staff were nice. The rooms are tiny and the pool was a little disappointing. The Wi-Fi was not bad but it was not good either
2023(Translated by Google)The price does not correspond to the quality. The first time the room was cleaned 7 days after arrival. And this is only because I asked Front Desk for four days in a row for someone to come and clean it up.One day there was no Wifi in the entire hotel and I, as a tourist, did not feel comfortable using Internet roaming. In response to my questions about why there was no WiFi, I was offered to call a number and resolve the issue with them. The girls from the Front Desk are completely incompetent. When asked where the gym was, we looked for it on the hotel map. The only plus is that the hotel is in a good, easily accessible location. I give it a rating of 2, in the hope that something will change. Arrival date February 15, 2023
They were super nice when we had to switch from a totally different place. Super helpful when we had questions or concerns. The sheets were a little stained or something, but they came to change them shortly after I asked. The pool is small for the amount of guests, but it was never so crowded you couldnt swim. Rooms were small but worked for us.
On the surface, the renovated rooms seem nice, but look closer and you see low quality - bouncy cheap uncomfortable mattresses, understocked kitchen (try making something as simple as scrambled eggs with no skillet, no whisk, and no rubber spatula), dirty bathroom, bedroom so small that there is nowhere to place an open suitcase, extremely slow internet (speed test says 2 mbps). I called to request a blanket and was told they didn’t have any. A hotel with no blankets?! I called to request a skillet and was told they’d have to check and see whether they have any, and no one bothered to follow up. Why have a full kitchen if it’s this difficult to use. I hate that I have to stay in this place for an entire week and will never stay here again.
Don’t stay here if you wanna sleep on someone else’s blood. The fact that another person commented about the exact same problem just shows you that they do not wash the sheets after every use. Complained that I had slept on top of someone else blood stain and asked to speak to the manager and was told MULTIPLE times that she would get back to me and still nothing. The manager was in an important meeting is what we were informed and she would call us right away. It’s been 2 weeks. I guess her meeting was more important that her guest sleeping on a blood stain. After complaining 4 separate times they finally said they would refund me a whole $20. Wow, a whole $20 for that health risk. Stay here at your own risk. They do not care about y’all’s health.
Zero stars.By far worst Westgate resort, its my first and last time i stay here. Small Beds and Rooms are very small might as well stay at a cheap hotel than this place. Also found cockroach in kitchen and foul odor in fridge.🤢Security kick us out of the workout area for having crocs on which are closed toe shoes. Not even my gym is that strict. Had trouble with room key, reported the issue and never fixed throughout my week stay even at checkout that shouldve been at 10am. At 9am key locked me out of my room and took about 1hr 1/2 for security to open. All activities are a joke.Never ever staying here again and do not recommend not even to my worst enemy.
Very disappointing! The kitchen was ill-equipped. There was no skillet, sheet pan, mixing bowls (so much for preparing a quick breakfast of bacon & eggs without a skillet), i was told they were on order & would be in next week (a lot of good it does me NOW). The queen bed was HORRENDOUS I felt EVERY spring in the mattress ..... worst mattress EVER! The staff is late to respond to requests, if they respond at all. Dont bother calling.....they just pick up the phone & hang up. The odor in the hallway is UNBEARABLE! The hot water is lukewarm at best (dont bother trying to take a hot shower to soothe your aching body from the horrible nights sleep). Because the floors are some semblance of marble, dont expect NOT to find the hair of others before you ALL OVER THE FLOOR! There was broken glass in the Queen bedroom & when i swept the floor, I swept under the bed & it was SOOOOO UNBELIEVABLY DIRTY! I was utterly grossed out! Believe the bad reviews.....SAVE YOUR MONEY & CHOOSE ANOTHER PROPERTY! Yes I contacted property staff & was told they would bring a mattress topper or replace the mattress, we are on day 4 & All they keep bringing are mattress pads and extra blankets...RIDICULOUS!!!!! I am an owner of Westgate & I am so very disappointed!!!!
This is the 1st time staying at a Westgate property and it may be the last. Although having 2 bedrooms and two bathrooms was nice, the mile long check in process, the slow-moving, thick with weed elevators, terribly uncomfortable beds, the LOUDEST washing machine I have EVER encountered, and the sink that would not drain, were not so nice. Thankfully we literally only used it for sleeping, which was okay. Be sure to get home early at night though because if you don’t there won’t be anywhere for you to park. You’ll have to do the SKETCHIEST overflow parking ever, about a mile away. I was with two 15 year old girls and never in my life have I felt so sure that a kidnapping was about to take place. Poorly marked, sketchy lot, attendants who spoke literally not a word of English and an old, unmarked, beat up van. It was the most bizarre situation - I am praying my car is still there in the morning and am wondering if we’ll be schlepping our suitcases to the sketchy overflow lot or if the same unmarked van will “shuttle” us. I guess we’ll find out at checkout?Update: increasing my stars on this - the overflow parking turned out okay. Pickup process was easy and a shuttle was provided to get my car the following morning. Happily surprised! I will say the signage and vehicle marking could be a lot better and would give your guests some peace of mind (especially single females) and a more secure feeling about leaving their car and getting into a vehicle with unidentified, non-uniformed workers who don’t speak English. It wasn’t a great feeling at 1 am with two teenage girls in tow. I immediately started envisioning a sex trafficking episode of Law and Order!
Honestly not even sure where to start. We come to Orlando every year for Halloween Horror Nights, and have stayed the past 4 years in October for a couple nights. We’ve always loved it. Check in process was easy and quick. We got to our room and it was completely filthy. There was blood on the sheets, hair in the sheets, hair all over the ground, toilet, showers, etc. The eating utensils were not clean either. We called down to the front desk and they told us to stay where we were and that someone would be up soon with keys to a new room. 40 minutes later and they finally came. Got to the new room and it was not much different. It was cleaner, but dust everywhere, hair still in the showers and on the toilet, and toothpaste in the sink. I didn’t feel like dealing with it at that point but took pictures so I could talk to the front desk on check out day. Later that night we’re sitting in the room and guess what?! The air doesn’t work. Just another issue in this already nightmared hotel. Had the air set to 68 and it would not go below 74. We dealt with it but again, took a picture for when we check out. The day of check out I went to the front desk and explained all of this to them and they pretty much said in their own words “oh well we don’t care and you should have reported it so we could get someone up there and switch your rooms”. Again, I’m not one to leave reviews. I have always loved this hotel, we rave about this hotel to our friends and family. But after this experience, we will not be staying here ever again.
Very clean and large family rooms! I would certainly book again.
My family of 5 and I stayed here for a 4 day weekend trip .The first day we arrived front desk only had 2 employees working which made our wait time over an hour. The second day we called and asked for extra sheets and after a few hours of waiting and calling multiple times we never received the extra sheets they said they would deliver. Sheets we did have where all stained ,the parking lot had a marijuana smell every night .The vending machines in the Villas never worked.I definitely won’t be recommending this place or staying here again.
First of all the location of this hotel is amazing, close to all the attractions. The service is horrible, actually there is no service, there are no employees, when I arrived after 6 hrs drive it took me 45 minutes to check in on a Monday and that’s because they just have one person doing everything, so the line was so long, then i called and asked for a crib and 2 blankets, after an hour or so they sent me 1 blanket and never answered when i called to ask about the crib!! The second day I dropped a plate and it broke and scattered everywhere, so i called them at once cuz i have 3 little kids and i wanted to make sure it’s safe to walk on the floor, the lady said no i can not send anyone today , if you want house keeping you have to call a 24 hrs before, i said ok i will clean as much as i can but please send them tomorrow and what about the blanket i still need it, they said oh sorry we don’t have blankets!!! The second day i went out and came around 9 pm to find the room the same as i left so i called over 20 times with no one answering, so i left my kids alone and went down to talk to them , there was just one person doing everything and looked extremely exhausted and overwhelmed, i was planning to fight but i couldn’t, i felt so bad for her , the hotel is huge and she’s the only one there , i told her no one is answering, she said i’m sorry i’m very busy with what i’m doing!!!! I told her that no one cleaned she said let me ask my manager but then she said she’s not there so may be they will clean it tonight as they stay till 11 !! I told her please let me know i need to put my kids to sleep and if not please put me for tomorrow, the same thing happened again , she didn’t call or send anyone , i came to find my room the same as i left, I stayed for 5 nights , no one came to my room at all!! ( 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom villa)Also the towels and sheets are over used, the floor was dusty!!whoever is running this place is absolutely cheap and wanna keep all the money for themselves, i feel so sorry for the employees of this place, most of them are not American by the way . I loved the location and the hotel in general but not the service, I don’t recommend it to anyone.
I checked in last night and my check in was great. I entered my room and was disappointed. The sofa chair is a piece of garbage I won’t dare sit on it for my two weeks stay here. I stayed at Westgate properties for years. This is the worst!!! I should be able to relax in the living room. I called downstairs and all I got is sorry. I was so excited to relax after working so hard throughout this pandemic comfortably.
Pros- very nicely renovated rooms - two separate bedrooms - bathroom for the “second bedroom” is very large - full kitchen with full size fridge - washer and dryer in the room.Cons- we were greeted with extremely dirty, dingy chairs in the lobby of our tower (picture attached), on the floor where our room was- the entrance to our hallway had damaged falling down ceiling tiles with garbage cans placed underneath (picture attached)..this blocked the entire hallway and we couldn’t push the luggage cart through nor walk by without having to move it all. (We checked in Thursday night-this was all untouched until Saturday morning). We stayed on the top floor, there was an extremely loud humming/vibrating noise coming from the ceiling of the master bedroom (made it hard to sleep). We decided to grab a quick breakfast in the hotel lobby one morning- a (stale, pitiful) bagel with a tiny side of packaged cream cheese cost us about $9- despite the menu saying it cost $5.95 (picture attached). Get food somewhere else - it will be better and worth your money. Also, dont order a Starbucks drink here...you wont get an authentic Starbucks drink - they staff does not know how to make the drinks properly (if youre a Starbucks fan - go to a Starbucks outside of this place) We went down to the jacuzzi one night- it was disgustingly filthy, cloudy with a thick visible film of something on top of the water and the jets don’t even work and the temperature was not as hot as a jucuzzi should be- was just warm.Overall - stay somewhere else. Theres so many better options with better, cleaner, worth-while amenities.
Amazing hotel! My family and i had a 6 night stay at the Westgate. The rooms were clean, spacious and have everything you need to make short or long stays extremely comfortable. The staff is super friendly and very accommodating. They have daily activities and movies for the days when you want to rest and just stay at the hotel (painting, bird house builds, bingo) . Which was perfect for my antsy kids who refused to stay in the room all day. The pool and pool area was clean and a good capacity for the hotel size with seating throught. They even have a kiddie pool which was great for my youngest child. The grills next to pool were clean and in working order. The gazeebo off of their private pond with a fishing dock was something that was definitely new to me while at a hotel. They even have fishing poles and tackle that you can checkout for use at the activity center. What we liked most of all is the security presence around the hotel and in the parking lot. We will definitely return to the Westgate Palace for our future Orlando stays.
Dont come here if you have places to be or need to be home by a certain time. Their sales agents will keep you for hours (in our case at least 3). Plus the bathrooms are the only nice things in the rooms. Everything else looks off compared to that. The hallways smell like school lunch pizza. The food was subpar on plastic plates,. Really not worth getting a timeshare or anything.
If I could give this place a zero I would. I am not one to leave a negative review ever but apparently I’m not being heard in my kind voice. So condo sounds great right! My first experience with this place we get to the gate and the lady has the audacity to say “you aren’t with fema are you?” No mam (as there’s a hurricane heading our way) even though I’m not what is the issue you have with people from FEMA staying here because they need help? Second we get to our room, start getting settled in and it’s disgusting there is no way they ever cleaned this room , bandages in the shower, nasty toilet paper behind the toilet, a dirty nasty towel sitting on the counter, the floors haven’t been swept in I don’t even know. So I nicely call up and let them know how dirty it is. They reassure me they will get cleaning up here (next day) I’m waiting for the ladies and nobody shows up till 12 …we’ll by then I already cleaned and spent an hour of my time cleaning so I tell her to leave, I go to start up some nuggets for the kids in the oven and there’s smoke everywhere and the fire alarms are going off, I call back up to the front and the only response I get is we can send someone back up to clean it! Really 1,500 for this place and that’s what you have to say to your customers! Should have taken them to Disney!
Everything was good until I got into the villa. Beds are very springy and hard to sleep on. The streets were hard, and the toilet didn’t work right away. Tried calling maintenance but nobody would answer the phone. Once called they took over 2 hours to come to the room. Same with towels. Took over an hour just for some towels. Ruined the experience for me. The amenities were great but the service was not worth it for me.
I am writing this complaint regarding a breach in company safety standards concerning my stay at the westgate palace. I arrived at the palace in Orlando Fl on December 15 ,2022. Upon arrival I as a customer was immediately dissatisfied due to the fact that I was forced to incur a 150 non refundable fee that was not mentioned in my reservation booking that I booked through the company website. I presented the on duty supervisor with my copy of my confirmation email that had the hotel policy and fees included and nothing related to a 150 dollar pet fee was noticed besides pets are allowed. After checking into my room, I had to immediately be moved to a different room due to the next door room toilet overflowing and seeping through the walls into one of my beds. After this incident I was accommodated to another room however once in that room my daughter discovered blood in her sheets in the bed that she was going to sleep in. At that point, I was overwhelmed with frustrations due to me being a healthcare worker and knowing that my child could have been potentially exposed to someone else blood. This is a major health concern for me as a parent, I paid 273/ per night and I have to worry that my kids are in a unsanitary environment. I called the front desk to speak with the supervisor and I was told that she could not leave the front desk and not one was available to come change the sheets. Yet again, I was faced with having to change sheets that the previous renters had bleed on which I was uncomfortable doing without gloves on. As a customer I should not have to endure such an unsatisfactory experience for my first stay at westgate. I spoke with the supervisor to express my frustrations and was only accommodate potential resort fee and a 25 dollar room credit, that is unacceptable and yet it seemed that have blood in my room was not a big deal which says a lot about the company and there standards. I hope that this complaint will improve the expectations of westgate for the future customers.
The place is nice and clean. A small resort but felt more like an apartment complex with additional amenities such as a small movie room and game room. Good for comfort and location. We stayed in a 2 bedroom deluxe. It was perfect for my family of 5. The sheets were clean and smelled great when we first arrived. However, they were never changed during our 4 day stay and housekeeping only visited us once. They didnt have a business center so it was a long process and wait for us and the employees when we had to print our boarding passes. The pool was nice but because of the way the buildings are located only a small section on the pool area got sun and for a few hours. So dont plan on sun tanning there unless you reserve your pool chair early in the morning.Overall, it was good. I would stay again. Staff was friendly, but like most of Orlando, hardly spoke English. It was funny.
Nice enough...close to the action. The staff was excellent. Service plus. No balconies was a drawback. I am the only non coffee drinker and I cant stand the smell. So in the morning I had to leave the room due to no fresh air.The showers leaked a little, but we had plenty of towels. No biggy, owners need to step it up. But on the whole. I could see the Hulk from my living room. Now thats close 😏. And like I said the staff was awesome!
To check in you have to tell security at the gate your name and reservation number. Pass the security in the lobby to check in 20 people plus in line waiting to check in. One person at the counter...4 stars? No way...about 10 minutes per person you do the math sitting at 11 pm in line. Update..80 minutes in line we have 1 person in front of us. We had guests also ...look at the size of that 🪳. Lol good luck staying here.
This place was very outdated. We didnt mind that so much. We were actually really happy with the room set up. Lots of space and convinces. However, they had some plumbing and cleanliness issues that were a bit of a bummer. We brought them to the front desks attention and moved on. They were fixed, but the next day we had new plumbing issues. They didnt seem all that concerned. We werent there to buy a timeshare. That seemed to be their focus. So, we were not a priority. We didnt spend much time in our room except to shower and sleep. My husband is really handy so it wasnt a disaster, but it wasnt a great experience.
Stayed here on a business trip. I did not book it. They want to sell you a time share. Room was decent. Seemed family oriented. Nice pool and pool bar, over looking a lake near I-drive. Very busy for coffee in the morning. They really need to clean the windows throughout the resort. Light did not work in master bathroom. I would not stay there on my own. Would prefer another resort that is not a time share.
Not sure why so many negative reviews. We got a free upgrade. Lovely room, great having two separate bedroom suites. Great location to all resorts and theme parks. Cleaning service top notch. Great pool area, on site restaurant and bar. Free shuttle to some of the theme parks. Reasonable price for the room in my opinion. They are a time share kind of operation so be ready to be invited to a free breakfast and a talk on becoming an owner, but they arent pushy and accepted our decline with Grace.
My experience was great! Had such a good time at the pool area, playing volley and the room is amazing. It is so convenient, shuttle to the parks and the service was great. Usually Im so picky and I couldnt find something I disliked... Oh well besides the drinks at the bar not having enough alcohol. But thats about it. Having an apartment like place to stay was very nice and saved you money. Comes with cooking pans utensils cups and anything you may need. Had a small incident with the crib they brought up for my daughter but managed to fix it right away. Will be here for my next stay for sure!
First time staying as an owner this place was discusting. The bedding sheets were full of blood spots, the sinks were dirty with mold around them the dryer did not work the kitchen sink was clogged. I Will NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone. I regret so much getting into a timeshare with them. Room 809A from Nov 18-25.
Misled by the 2nd we spoke to lady at check-in. She said we would receive a $100 visa gift card and a free 3/2 stay to use within 2 years, if we listened to a timeshare presentation. The gifts may have initially enticed us, but we were actually interested in hearing what the sales lady had to say. She mumbled her name one time at the very beginning, so I unfortunately cant remember it. We sat through an hour and a half presentation of the worst sales pitch we have EVER received, full of convoluted and incorrect math to make it seem like we spend more than we do, because our numbers werent inflated enough to make it seem worthwhile for us to buy a timeshare. We got to the end of the presentation -- to the point where she wanted to show us the unit (we are staying in the resort currently), which we had NO idea was a part of the presentation. We had already spent more than the hour (she lost us when she inflated our spending numbers) AND had heard enough to know it wasnt worth our while. So, we tried to POLITELY decline the viewing, only to have her entire demeanor change. She turned cold and rude, went and got her manager without another word, who then came and completely dismissed us, saying we would NOT be receiving anything for our time because we didnt complete the presentation. He didnt give us the option to view the unit at that point, just said Im not gifting you because you didnt complete the presentation, so she didnt complete her job. Again, we were unaware it was required and at this point, we just wanted the gifts. I have personally never been treated in SUCH an unprofessional manner in my LIFE.Any good feelings I was having about this resort are now gone and Im left clinging to the hope that I can shake this off and salvage my vacation. The resort itself is great. Check in staff was a delight. Amenities are wonderful. Perfect location and accommodations. This would easily be 5 stars if we hadnt been misled about the presentation and then treated so poorly by the timeshare sales staff. If I never have to see or speak to any of them ever again, Ill happily use this as my go-to stay place when Im here.
Let me start by saying that I am a huge fan of westgate properties as I’ve stayed at a few of them so many times. But this property is far and away a dump.Checked in on the 08th. The day of check in we were waiting on a elevator for almost 30 minutes as only one of them were working. Mind you it was really crowded at the resort. We notified an employee who had walked into the elevator area. He stated he would be right back. He never came back.Once the elevator was available, it took an additional 15 minutes just to get the doors to close. The carpets had a weird order to them in the hallways.I was surprised that there were no pots or pans in the room. We called and requested them. We were brought one medium sized pot. Safe to say, I learned how to fry bacon bacon and eggs in a pot.I went to go hook my fire stick up to the bedroom tv. Only to notice that the tv is nailed down to very outdated dresser. I’ve only seen that done in wrinky dink motels. There was a sign outside the downstairs door that states that the doors lock for security reasons at 9pm for security. I ran down to the car to get something out one day at 11:30am. My girlfriend had to come down to let me in because the doors are locked 24 hours a day.We did not enjoy one bit of our stay here. It does not feel like a west gate property. They overcharge people based on the area of attractions. At the very least update the property.
Great hotel. LOVED the washer/dryer. It saved SOOO much time when we were returned. The room was clean. Didnt use any of the facilities so I cant say anything about them.Pros:-There were a few maintenance issues. We notified the front desk. They immediately fixed the problems.Improvements:- The kitchen garbage can was very small. It filled quickly. It would have been nice to have a full size garbage can.- The beds were lumpy and uncomfortable. The comforters were stained.- There were no cleaning supplies for the counters. They provided dish soap, dishwasher soap, and laundry soap. There was no disinfectant or things for the counter.- The daily housekeeping was minimal. They remade the beds, took out the garbage, and refreshed towels most of the time. (We had to ask for kitchen towels.) Our sheets were not changed once through our ten nights.- Several times, we ran into unaccompanied minor children. While I understand this is on the parents, not the hotel, it would have been nice if children and families were in one tower or designated floors rather than freely mixed in. Our last night, no we did not inform the staff, several children were running between rooms in the hallway at 2am.Overall, I would come back.
Good experience, the room was spacious and very clean! I will have to point out to a couple of things that I did not like.1- Check In and Check Out times are not customer oriented ...10am and 4pm is not acceptable!2- Parking space it not enough for a property that size, as an alternative there is a remote parking with a shuttle service the van is very uncomfortable.
This experience was absolutely horrible went in for a time share presentation and they pressured us for 6 hours into signing up for a timeshare we finally signed up after being pressured and being told we it wasn’t smart if we didn’t. The closing officer Edina Tahmaz commission # GG958975 had us sign a lengthy contract without explaining any of the documents to us she talked about her family and other irrelevant stuff the entire time. We were mislead on what we were actually supposed to receive as far as benefits. Then once we were home and really read the contract we called back to cancel Edina Tahmaz pretty much said if we couldn’t afford it we shouldn’t have signed for it which was not the case. We just didn’t want to move forward because we were rushed and pressured into something that was necessarily what we wanted to do this was our first time and wasn’t expecting this. She also went on to say if I wanted to buy a house and she was the bank she wouldn’t lend us anything because we can’t afford to pay for their time share which was just absolutely rude. Overall a horrible experience I will never stay here or purchase anything from WESTGATE.
This is the worst experience I have ever encountered at Westgate Palace. If there was a 0 rating this location on Carrier Drive in Orlando definitely deserves it! How in the world does it take 2 hours to check in a damn hotel with a reservation? This is unbelievable! For the price it should be smooth and easy. I will definitely never stay here again! Spend your time enjoying orlando rather than waiting in line. Spoiled the entire night! Worst ever!
I enjoyed myself. Previously I didnt like westgate because theybuse to charge for everything on the resort. All activities everything. Theyve changed a lot love the new loyalty program. My only issue was my room smeeled musty or moldy every time I came back to it. Staff was friendly and very accommodating!
Third party rate comparative was great...Location great close to everything needed for universal area. Disney not too far away. Rooms decent nothing crazy rm 1502a had new appliances and updated bathrooms with hot water all the time no issues there. Found a couple little sugar ants around trash can area np...Now the beds n bedding are getting a 2 star just for having them. Pillows ok blankets need updated as well as mattress other amenities ok but nvr really used em just wasnt there during stay. For the price i would look to rent a home via airbnb or vrbo w pool for same price next time but to each their own. This is a timeshare property as well so people do live here and own.
Super nice rooms. Very clean and up to date. We stayed at the one Carrier Drive and the staff was very nice and helpful. Had a nice pool outside. The shower was big and plenty of hot water. Even had two shower heads. Nice tub with jets. TV in each room, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, etc.
Amazing place. Beautiful inside and out. My wife and kids are staying here for the weekend.we have a room with an amazing view. Room size was great. Staff was great and friendly from the moment we checked in. I will be sure to get the staff name who checked us in to make it clear how amazing she was. Love it here and don’t want to leave lol.
The rooms were nice and the staff treated us well. However, I had a few issues with the hotel. First, my family has a timeshare with this hotel and realized they made the space in the rooms smaller and the TVs as well compared to our last visit. Then, as we settled in I was struggling to connect an Apple TV to the Wi-Fi. I decided to go to the front desk to ask for help at around 10 PM, no one was at the front desk even though it says they’re open for 24 hours. Called them this morning only for them to tell me having streaming devices isn’t allowed.
Friendly staff, very nice rooms, comfortable king size bed, cleaning staff did a great job keeping things tidy. Rooms were big enough that you didnt feel like you were in a hotel, more like a home setting. Enjoyed Starbucks each morning, very friendly and food was always delicious. The free shuttles were convenient and fast.
Room was big spacious and very clean. The tub in the room was unique and interesting. I actually got to watch TV while I was bathing. Great customer service and the text system they use to check on you is fantastic. Uou can literally text for towels and things.
Place is clean. Mattress is not comfortable and worst is the sofa bed. When U sleep,it touches the spring. My children complaint the sofa bed hurt. My mattress in the room is lousy. It not comfortable. The worst part is the water. I called up the operator to complain twice and said will.send someone but no sign at all. The sink tap is really really terrible! Complain and no action taken
I had a great first time visit; The rooms was very nice the checking in was long and the parking was limited. Our sales rep we had was super nice. But my complaint is our presentation began at 8:30am and lasted until a little after10:30am. And we listen and toured the property for 2 hours. They scam people with free gifts. and then use intense pressure so we can go to the timeshare presentation. And then they want you to purchase right away. But not me. Then bring another manager, over to talk with us. And I still denied purchasing a timeshare! I Would definitely come back To stay in the Westgate Resorts!
Stayed for business. Staff was courteous. Unit was clean and beds were comfy. Unit decor needs updating. Pool and outdoor lounge area were very nice. Kitchenette was just adequate. Location was close to International drive. We were ushered to a second desk after check in to sign up for a timeshare tour that we declined. I expected more for the price.
Very friendly staff, room was nice, clean, and matched the online description. Only complaint about the room was that the jacuzzi tub jets did not work, but everything else did and I felt right at home. The restaurant food was delicious and reasonably priced, as was the room service. The pool and hot tub were relaxing, and paddle boards across the lake were offered for free for hotel guests. We did not personally do this, but saw a fair number of people taking advantage. We did attend the time share presentation, which offered a free breakfast (food was not bad, but was not good), a voucher for another 2 night stay, and $100 cash. Staff made good on both promises, but the presentation did take 2 hours instead of the stated 1 hour. All in all, would go back and stay again, and would recommend others to stay here as well.
We checked in on March 1st and checked out on March 4th. Our family had a 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom suite. The condo was clean overall (some hair was found in the sheets) and having a kitchen, washer/dryer was convenient and saved money! The staff was friendly and the grounds were lovely. The only reason I cant give 5 stars is due to what happened on our checkout day. A woman called the room and offered our family a breakfast buffet, $100 gift card, and voucher to come back and stay if we listened to a presentation. Sounded good to us so we accepted. When we go to guest services they ask us for income info etc. I assumed it was a survey for their marketing and didnt think much of it. Turns out, we were paired with a sales man trying to sell us vacation ownership which is a timeshare. I felt as though I was being pressured into purchasing something I had no need for etc. Then they seemed reluctant to give us what was promised. So, if you book here, do not accept the offer for the breakfast or lunch... Unless you wanted to be pressured into making a 10yr commitment when you never had any intention on doing so.
For the most part everything was great. Did have an issue with security on the last day claiming we couldn’t fish anywhere but the dock when activities informed us multiple times that we could fish off the dock in the grass to the side. There was also a sign that said “catch and release” on the grass not to mention multiple people that had been fishing in the grass all week long. We went inside to ask front desk because activities was gone they didn’t know b/c they were new. He then proceeded to put a lock on the gate. If we can’t fish there put a sign up. Other than that great place to stay.
Very nice accommodations. We stayed in a 2 bedroom. It had 2 full baths, washer&dryer, kitchen with dishes and a full sized fridge. It also even had an ironing board and iron. My only complaint is the elevators are kind of slow but the building has 19 floors so it is understandable. They have a playground, pool, basketball court, and small arcade room on site. Also they have a bar and a place to order Starbucks and food. They also show movies and have some activities for kids. Overall it was very nice and I look forward to staying again.
I stayed here for a week with my family and I enjoyed it. Very peaceful and amazing staff members! Awesome view at night. I recommend the top floors, it doesnt get hot so thats good. The beds are comfy and so are the rooms. The location of the hotel is very centered, which is very good when you want to go out and eat.The only downside is the cleaning service. Its not daily, and to be fair they dont clean good. They just do your bed, they also dont sweep the floors. I find it odd that they only come EVERY 4 days.Other than that me and my family enjoyed it. Recommend if you want a relaxing vacation with your family.
The water in the showers is cold every morning. After reporting it to reception 3 days in a row I have given up. The rooms are a very generous size. Our 2 bedroom deluxe has cooking and clothes washing facilities. The walls are quite thin, we could clearly hear our neighbors on the first night but they were quite loud. There is a kids activity room with a small cinema/TV room abut my nine year old was not allowed to watch a childrens movie unless a parent watched with him. Even though I was waiting at the door. Defeats the purpose of childrens entertainment. There is a free bus to Disney/Universal and free car parking at the hotel. All in all a solid hotel and solid location for tourist spots, if you have a car.
Wonderful Place to stay! We stayed on the 19th floor great view! Staff was wonderful! Everything you need right there! But I do recommend if you have a small child that drops things on the floor an eats it to go out an buy a swiffer! The floors look clean but I used 6 swiffer pads JUST in kitchen an living room area an they were BLACK like the floors are cleaned with dirty water! 😞
Stayed here for a week, really enjoyed it. During the week its very quiet and relaxing. If your looking to vacation undisturbed I recommend staying between Mon and Thurs. The jacuzzi was very nice. There a lots of activities for everyone. The paddle boats are also very fun. The staff was very friendly and the attractions both made it very easy to purchase tickets. We stayed in a 2 bed suite which was very comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked and there was a w/d as well which is very convenient. Laundry detergent was provided as well. Overall I had a very pleasant experience. Will definitely be visiting again.
This is a nice hotel (vacation condos) and the staff made the stay SUPER special. The kitchen had just enough facilities to allow us to prepare some quick meals to save some money. The pool was AWESOME (well heated) with everything you could need on site of VERY close by (easy walking distance). This is the PERFECT location for Universal, a $10.00 uber/Lyft ride away.
Staff was great, the room was nice and clean. Needs to have continental breakfast for just normal guests, the amenities are nice as well. The bed was a little to firm for my preference and the pillows are just bad. It gives you a full kitchen which is great! We didnt use it but it is nice to have. The bath tub is also a jacuzzi, but it is very loud. Overall though it is a nice hotel, will go back if I can get another deal.
Good value for the type of room. The two bedroom Deluxe suite has what you need if you want to cook and save a buck. Grills are available to cook on also. Wish the pool had a deep section. Need another hot tub or a bigger one. It was always crowded. Bar was good but pricey as expected.
What a great place! They definitely surprised me. Even though I think the shuttle service from the parks should run later. the hotel itself along with the staff are awesome. We got there and was told they over booked our room size, so they upgraded us to the suite with a Jacuzzi tub.
I have stayed here twice now for a business conference. This is a great hotel with a good bar and outdoor space. They have a pool, hot tub and a nice deck area by the pool and down by the lake to lounge at. The rooms are great too with plenty of space and nicely kept. The only reason I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 is their food service window is not set up well for large amounts of people, but the food is still pretty good.
Great stay. 👍Some odd stuff. Faucet would not retract... toilet paper underneath yiur leg, hard to use. Never got to use paddle boats because of cleaning and pressure washing thethe deck and then minor repairs every day.
Nice rooms, but hotel is dated. Staff is friendly, however housekeeping entered my room even though I had a Do Not Disturb sign up. They opened drawers and organized stuff in them. They opened the wardrobe closet and also organized it. Felt violated. Parking is ridiculous. $200 a night for a room and they offer very limited parking. You have to park across the street. Better options in the area
Lovely hotel. Very central for going to Universal and volcano bay. Fantastic room device where rooms and beds are cleaned and made up daily. Pool stays open till 11pm with music playing in the background so its lovely if you are out a day to be able to come back to this. Food is really nice. Good pizza and amazing portion of tachos. Only negative I have is the bar closes at 10pm which is very early if you are out at parks all day. However I would highly recommend staying here. I really enjoyed it.
Upon arrival, we had a few concerns with our room on the 18th floor. Front desk staff went above and beyond to accommodate my family and I. We ended up moving to a beautiful clean room and no further concerns. We enjoyed our stay!
Clean rooms, ok pool, good amenities, friendly staff. The rooms are a bit older. One day the cleaning staff did not come at all. The days they did come almost every light in our room was left on, including the light on the microwave (why?). No mattress covers on the mattresses (ew!). Also, the shuttle times are not very good. We missed the 9:00 shuttle to universal, they didn’t have another shuttle until 11:00 and their last available shuttle was 5:00 pm so you are severely limited in how long you are able to stay in the parks. Location is close to Universal, so that was nice.
This is a great place to stay and bring your family. We would love to just live at this beautiful place. The rooms are large and the family can relax in comfort. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. We may just come to Orlando a hang around the resort all day and take in the pool and paddle boats.
BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!If you are reading this PLEASE BEWARE. DO NOT bypass this review and say to yourself... (it cant be that BAD).. I promise you..It is. We reserved this hotel for a short vacation 7/6/2021 throught 7/10/21. My family and I reserved 2 separate 2 bedroom suits. It was a total of 10 family members, including myself. Upon arrival at the hotel, we checked in and proceeded to unloaded our luggage onto a cart🧳... (At least 10 bags for my room occupants). We entered to facility and I immediately felt uneasy (Strike 1).. We got onto the elevator and got off on the 14th floor.. As soon as the elevator doors opened we were hit with the pungent smell of the hallway carpet; It smelled like feet (Strike 2). We got to our room, opened the door and my God. The room was dirty. The floors looked sticky. The throw pillows on the bed smelled like old cloths, the leather couch was worn, torn and had visible rips. The room smelled as bad as the hallway. We stood in the middle of the room afraid to touch anything for about 10 minutes before I went downstairs and requested a refund. The only good thing I can say about this place is that they obliged my refund request. At the time of checkout my group and I didnt have any other reservations for a hotel stay in Orlando, but we all knew staying at this hotel was impossible. If I could rate this place less that 1 star; I would. Bypass this review at your own risk!!!!!
They worked with our check in and check out schedule really good, they let us check in about 4 hours early.Yet, our room was quite filthy. The bathrooms hadnt been swept, and there was food under our beds, like they swept the carpets under the beds. We had them clean our room once, but they didnt even clean, just made the beds. They didnt take out the trashes or anything. The pool was nice, there is fireplace with a perfect view of Universal Studios fireworks. They had an arcade and an actives room for the kids.
Small rooms, bathrooms living and kitchen space, but it is nice. Love the swimming pool, theater, and close proximity to everything. They were open to us choosing any movies we wanted which was kinda cool. They did contact us regularly (in person, on the phone, cleaner) about doing the time share thing which was annoying but not a deal breaker. The only reason I wouldnt go again is because of the size of the rooms.
The room looked nice and updated. The dishwasher was so small it wouldn’t close either the plates they provided. The tv in the second bedroom had paint splattered on it and the tv was difficult to use. The worst part is we had no hot water. At certain points it was ok but it would fluctuate during the shower and the last day it wouldn’t warm up at all. The music by the pool made it difficult to speak over, the had speakers out there but were using a singular large Bluetooth speaker for music to the entire pool. Good location for going to the parks though.
Our room was not cleaned at all, the bath tub was literally falling apart with an open slot in the side of it! Ordered a coffee in the morning from room service and it arrived around an hour and a half later. Looked nothing like the pictures online. Staff offered to switch our room for an “upgrade fee” even though it was falling apart. Definitely below my expectations and not worth the money at all.
My Fiancé and I stayed here for a full week and we absolutely loved it! We stayed on a high floor and we had a wonderful view of the lake. The staff was extremely friendly. We did ask for a dinner recommendation one night that is unique in Orlando, as we had gotten engaged during the trip, but was given a chain steakhouse and then they tried to sell us the Westgate Ownership. Aside from that, the hotel was wonderful and the staff was nice. Love the souvenir cups at the bar!
We have booked almost last minute arrived close to midnight and got happy with our room. Service, cleanness, distance to Universal Studios, outlooks have been great. What a fun to cope with the elevators, entrance and door of the room. We didnt know what to do with the key cards. Later we realized that 2 of our 3 cards have been defect. You better check your keys at the reception desk before you move to your building and get in trouble. However: fun was guaranteed.
It was a nice place. This was a last minute arrangement and we had a party of 7 people. We had a 2BR 2BA and it was beautiful & spacious enough for all of us. We didnt use the kitchen but the couch was comfortable. We went to the pool and there is a nice fire pit with comfy chairs for the adults while the girls played. Also theres a nice Deck on the water. We met another couple that said this particular resort was one of the most Family Friendly properties but I thought they could have made good use of the bar area after 11P. Oh, and my key stopped workinf twice for no reason at all.
The staff was really nice and was always there if my family and i needed something. the rooms were clean and the pool was nice. however, only two of the four elevators were working and they had no stairs for a fire escape. we even asked an employee and he couldnt find them. i like how they have some extra security as it made us feel safer. however, some suspicious men were hanging around the entrance of one of the towers and it made my daughters and i feel very unsafe, as i was traveling without my husband and have two daughters. they followed us inside the building and to the elevators, asking what floor we were on. after that, i told the manager and ciera (the manager) escorted us to our room and even brought security with her so we would feel safer. i did this for all four of the nights we stayed there and she was very kind and understanding, even asking for a description of these men. overall, a good hotel with really nice employees, just the location may not be as great as it may attract some people looking for trouble and the hotel may look like it hasnt been updated in a while.
Worst vacation ever, first they gave me keys to an occupied room, they upon entering our room there was no jetted tub, shower didnt drain, we were on the eighth floor and came back after a day at the park and all four elevators were broke, then the shower wouldnt drain again so maintenance had to come poking it, the third day the toilet would not flush so again maintenance came and we had to change room only to find out they had just did a 14 million dollar renovation to this horrible place the entire week the seventh floor was flooded. Once getting all of our things to change to the other tower I entered the room and low and behold there was the tub I was probably supposed to have. They wanted us to buy a timeshare I wouldnt stay there again if it was free!!!!!
Stayed in one of the deluxe 2 bedrooms and it was beautiful. Lots of room and was right down the street from the parks. Only had 2 minor issues, the master bedroom toilet would flush but the contents wouldnt always go with it and there was no where to put the trash in the kitchen area. Other than that had a great stay and they even gave us a late check out!!!
Great location. Safe and clean. The restaurant much better than I expected. Skip the timeshare presentation and add 3 hours to your life. Two bedroom condo comfortable for 6 with full kitchen. A lot of negative reviews, I am not sure why. The place was built sometime ago and the bathroom layout seems odd by todays design standards. The place is packed with guest, so they must be doing something right.
My husband and I have a timeshare at another location that was at capacity for the new year week. It was recommended that we stay at Westgate Palace Resort. I was sadly disappointed. The 2 bedroom villa deluxe was not roomy at all. The master shower was small and not user friendly. Out of the 8 nights we were booked there 4 night housekeeping was not going to take out the garbage or straighten our room up, which was included in our stay, I called every evening to request the room to be serviced. It felt like everyday there was something I needed that was not in the room to cook for a family. No cookie sheets on property, had to call for a rack for the oven, more towels, daily as well as soap. We also had to evacuate 1 night, do to a fire on the 6th floor. No staff was available to let us know it was all clear to return to our room at almost 1 am. None of the exterior windows opened so it was a rough night with a asthmatic child that night.I finally did wait at the front desk for 45 minutes, I called the general manager as none was willing to speak to me about the problems. He was kind and understanding but I dont feel anything was truly resolved as the next 3 days all the same issues still occurred. So bottom line, I do not recommend this resort, timeshare or facility. We will not be returning and we will not recommend this facility to anyone.
Will never return. I never leave reviews, but felt it was only right that I do. Our rooms didn’t have working light switches. The shower doors didn’t close leaving the bathroom in a huge mess. The phones didn’t work to even call anyone to inform them. And the people they allow to walk around their hotel-actively on drugs, swearing at other guests, swearing at their children, smoking, falling into bushes with their small children trying to get into the pool. Security was notified twice, and did nothing. The aggressive push to do the timeshare-we said no, and they continued to push. I will never ever stay here again. I understand people have vices (drugs) but to be so under the influence and passing out in front of guests and their small children and for security to be notified and for them to be allowed to stay on premises-was enough for my family to pack up immediately. Parents- this is not the place for your family.
Very comfortable place and very upscale. I had a nice time at this hotel. The breakfast buffet was ok and the Apple juice and orange juice was watered down way too much. Other than that the room was great the view was lovely and they have a lot going on as the activities go for kids and adults. Its like a getaway in a getaway. Great for family to come and stay.
The fact that this hotel costs as much as it does and still only has 4 stars should really tell you something. Way overpriced considering the rude staff and managers that dont take any complaints seriously. Not only that but they try to push time shares on everyone and are incredibly rude when you say no 20 times. They go from being incredibly friendly and pushy to extremely rude and DEMANDING to know why you wont throw $800 a month on a room you will use once a year for a week. Its simply a scam and not worth their hassle. Ive been to other hotels in the area and Embassy is MUCH nicer as well as being in the middle of everything. This is a place that just wants to take all the money right out of your pocket and treat you poorly while they do. If you have any real problems dont even bother trying to get them addressed, they threatened to kick me out for being rude when I asked for a refund on a product they simply promised without giving or answering any of my questions. Overall terrible place with clearly miserable staff.
Even though they appear to be remodeling, the hotel was nice. I was especially impressed by the friendliness of the staff in passing. Everyone smiled and said hello, no matter what they were doing. The only part that wasnt great was the parking situation. They appeared to have garages full of construction materials, which caused the outside lot to fill up very quickly.
There is a time share sales rep named Muhammad who works here. He was totally rude and should be fired. While giving our presentation he did not greet us, he was on his phone the whole time and he spoke abrasively and rudely with me and my husband. I told him the internet doesnt work at the property and he told me You can tell someone else, Just let me do my job!. I would never purchase a timeshare here and I would recommend guests ask in advance who will being giving your timeshare presentation. If it will be him, I suggest you request someone else immediately! I am on vacation and the last thing I want to deal with is someone who woke up on the wrong side of the bed to ruin it. Other staff is decent.
Nice resort! Unfortunately, it rained the majority of our stay. My children enjoyed the movie, fishing, and the pool party. Although, it was rainy the DJ made the best/most he could with other activities. They also made ice cream sundaes and played in the game room. The rooms were spacious, beds were comfortable, the pillows and blankets were extremely soft.
Me & My Wife stay there with her family and everything was perfect. Staff was really friendly anything I needed they will come and bring it really fast. For me the rooms are big enough and it brings everything kitchen is stock with everything you will need. Pool is great, they even have a movie theater with Disney movie playing for Familys with kids. Love dis Timeshare I own it with my wife and her parents. Cant wait to stay there again....
We were here for six nights with our daughter and were very happy with this hotel. Great location near Universal, clean and spacious two bedroom condo with well equipment kitchen and laundromat, great view at Sandy Lake and large swimming pool. Will certainly return!
Great hotel for the price. Great location. But watch out for their loopholes. I have been singing the praises of this hotel to all of my friends. Then today TWO days AFTER I checked out I see a $50 charge on my card. I called and inquired and was told its a SECURITY deposits. Nobody Anywhere told me about this deposit. My room was paid in full through Hotel Tonight!!!!! He says it will be refunded to me when I check out. Ive been checked out for two days!!!!
My stay was incredible! The suite was lovely, the location is great, the pool and amenities are in great shape, it’s located super close to the theme parks and has free shuttles there and back, the housekeeping went above and beyond daily in cleaning our room, the staff was nice, the food and drinks at the restaurant downstairs were good and affordable, and parking is easy. Best of all, they have a program where you can text in and speak to someone at the front desk. They reply immediately and go above and beyond in accommodating your request. I work in customer service myself and this small feature is a great example of meeting your customer’s needs via their own preferred method of communication. Shoutout to Martin, Erika, Ellen, Victor, and Jo-Ann. I will refer my friends here and return next time I’m in Orlando.
Love Westgate when visiting Orlando,Florida. The staff is always pleasant and very reliable. Our current visit was great with a few exceptions. Our master bedroom had a ant issue on the window sill and along the bathroom sink. The floors were definitely not done properly. There was dust under the beds, dog hair thru out our room (very annoying) and we even found 2 little toys. Thankfully, there is a broom, dust pan and mop in the closet. With a little clean up the room was up to par. The room was set up with a queen bed in the master and two twins in the 2nd bedroom. Love having a washer and dry in the unit, saved packing extra clothes. The one thing that is so annoying is the sales rep that try to get you to buy into the resort. We flew in at 11pm, the rep was ring are room at 8am to try and sell their sales pitch. Lack of respect in the sales department. We will definitely be staying at Westgate again in the future. We prefer to stay at WR lakeside, the Palace ranks at a 4 stars were Lakeside received 5 stars. After staying at both the palace could do better cleaning in the halls and room along the base boards and in the rooms by cleaning around the fridge and other furniture. We hope you decide to stay at WR your stay is as pleasant as ours. WR has your dream rooms. We have never stayed at the Villas- hopefully they are just as nice
DO NOT recommend you go to this hotel unless you want to get sick. For whatever reason, I and three other rooms next to mine were not taken care of. At the end of our trip, we all noticed how it was strange that we were all sick and with the same symptoms and would think it was covid but after a thorough inspection of the rooms, bed and blankets we discovered MOLD. Our blankets which we had slept on for a week were covered in growing mold. We spoke to a few other staying guest and surprise surprise, they found mold on their blankets and pillows too. We found multiple bugs inside the hotel upon entering (roaches included). We attempted to complain to a Supervisor there but they completely ignored us. DO NOT RECOMMEND. We all left very upset and with mold sickness.
I had a great stay!! staff was helpful. If I were here on vacation It would have been 5*. However, I was here on business and I needed the internet! :( I went to several areas trying to get a better connection and only found 2.5 Mbps download. I finally had to go a restaurant to finish my work for the week. The room is a little dated and all the shower heads need replacing. Thanks for all your help. Cleaning staff did a great job. !!
Worst hotel experience ever. The staff is incredibly rude, the when I complained to the Director on staff with genuine feedback he just walked away.Food is terrible, practically worst type of motel food you can imagine.I prepaid for hotel package with discounted tickets to seaworld, only to find out the marketing company that hotel hired would not honor what was promised to me. And neither the marketing company or the hotel would take responsibility. As father of 4 I look to take my kids somewhere they enjoy, unfortunately on this trip all they saw me do was argue with this hotel staff. It was a devastating encounter for us, never in my life have I been as disrespected as I have been by the hotel staff and a management. Stay far away from this hotel. I will be writing to the developer and considering legal action. Please save your money go elsewhere, this place is blatantly fraudulent and run scam with their marketing team.
The rooms were beautiful I stayed in a two-bedroom one had twin beds and the other a queen. Everybody was very nice and everything was amazing. I especially like that you could not get in or out of the building without a key fob.
Absolutely nothing. First off I was disappointed with the lay out of the suite for being a 2 bedroom suite it was small looked bigger in photos. In the master bedroom the sink was in the room and the so called Jacuzzi was a small size not enough room for two people more like a tub with jets. The shower was so close to the toilet that your knees hit the shower door very inconvient. The kitchen was nice. The beds were hard and the pillows were not fluffy. I debated staying elsewhere but chose this hotel for the amenities. I also didnt like the pushy staff trying to get you to do a 60min presentation for a timeshare so beware. I prefer to pay the price I did to stay at a better resort with hassle free presentation.
Were staying for a couple of days, and so far, its a pretty good place to be! Large pool and nice-sized hot tub out back are nice, and the rooms are big, clean, and have a very nice view of the Orlando skyline! Its a perfect place for a small family, and its location is close to many fun things like Universal and Disney!
We stayed recently at Westgate this past week. We have stayed here before once, and it was a good experience. However, this time, it was absolutely awful. When we got there, the air conditioning did not work. Then, a few days later, the bathroom started leaking urine through our ceiling from the bathroom above us. Yes, I said PEE. Once we told the front desk, they had someone eventually come, and put us in a new room. However, the room we went to was burning hot and it was not upgraded and they did not offer to pay for our room or any type of upgrades for the hell we went through. At this rate, we will not be coming back.
We very much enjoyed our stay - more like an upscale apartment/hotel than a hotel. Elements of both. Granite counter-tops - in room laundry facilities and kitchen. Beautiful room. Some minor issues (toilet needing plunging here and there) but nothing that would keep us from booking there again if we stay in Orlando. Very clean, fantastic location and great amenities.
We love WESTGATE and we will stay there anytime we vacation in Florida. We were on the 12th floor so the view from our room was amazing. We are a family of 5 so the Villa was perfect for us. A king size master bedroom with Jacuzzi and shower, and a separate room with 2 twin beds. we also had a pull out couch for my older son to sleep on in the living room area w/ his own TV. The convenience of the huge kitchen area with all utensils to cook for my family and the washer and dryer off the kitchen was a blessing. It made our Disney family trip so much easier. Did I mention how comfy the beds were. The resort was beautiful. the pool area had a fire pit with surrounding lounge chairs for the chili nights while the kids swim for hours and had fun in the pool. It was amazing. The next time we vacation in Florida we will stay on the bigger resort since weve just became new owners. but the palace was really nice. I recommend staying here especially if you have a family.
I really enjoyed my stay. They have clean rooms with a variety of amenities. When I needed anything, guest services moved quickly and with efficiency to accommodate my needs. The bar service was as expected. The mixologist was friendly and attentive. The only hiccup was the shuttle service to universal studios. They only have two times available and one of ther drivers was rude, pulling off before my family had been seated while we held our infant.
Its OK at best. Room size was barely adequate. Sink in kitchen dripped all the time. Cleanliness left quite a bit to be desired. Animal cracker laid in hallway for days till I picked it up. Gated parking and close to everything was a plus. Would I stay they again? Nope
Our stay was just a quick one so we didnt use the amenities. We needed a place to stay late at night and everywhere around it was full. It had great security in and around the place. The outside of the windows really need to be cleaned, they are extremely dirty and full of spider webs and look as though they havent been cleaned in years. At night, the lights from the outside light up the spider webs and dirt and it is difficult to see the sites outside the windows. The rooms are great for families since they all have 2 separate rooms and a kitchenette. The master bedroom had a nice jacuzzi tub although it was a little small. The rooms themselves were pretty clean. To my husband and I, the pillows were a little too soft. Our main problem with the room was that there was a light right outside the window in front of the bed which didnt let us get good sleep and there was no way to block it other than some blinds that only half blocked it. Other than these things everything was great. They have a nice heated pool although we werent able to take advantage of it. They also offer several other amenities that look nice and have a list of programs they offer everyday. The staff themselves where amazing and professional. Its a little expensive but they offer a lot and if you are staying more than one quick night make sure to take advantage of everything they offer. We will keep this place in mind for the future. We might bring our own pillows next time though.
The rooms were immaculate and the staff was very accommodating. My husband is in a wheelchair and uses a lift. The general manager personally took all the measurements I needed and reserved a room that would best suit my needs. It is not often that you get that kind of service!
The staff has been very nice, the units are clean. Outdoor space is wonderful and lovely as well as well maintained. Unfortunately, the 2 bedroom unit is the smallest unit we have ever stayed in as timeshare owners of 20 yrs. The bedrooms are very small, but the living area has one couch that seats 3 people! No other chairs but the bar stools for the counter. Very awkward and uncomfortsble. Master bedroom is ridiculously small ! Dollar store utensils and no cookie sheets or pans to be gad.
They let our family check in at 11 am because we had a sick child even though our reservation hadnt made it into the system yet. The property was clean and nicely furnished. Staff was always friendly. We had a wonderful experience. We will definitely stay here again vs. a traditional hotel.
Room was disgusting and not cleaned at all from previous occupant. There were white stains on pillows kept on the bed and sofa was covered in dust. We checked out as soon as we saw the state of the room and booked a different hotel.
We had a fun time here! We rented a cabana at the pool which was really nice and came with perks. The waitress was amazing! The rooms and area is a little smaller than Westgate Lakes resorts but still really nice and close to the parks. They also had some great activities like movie time and craft activities.
The room was very nice. Lots of amenities. There were just a couple imperfections that didnt quite reach 5 star status like some slightly stained sheets, leaky shower, lack of a trash can anywhere except the tiny one in the bathroom and janky toilet. But overall very enjoyable stay
Beautiful hotel with well maintained rooms and friendly staff. Watch out for their welcome package people who will try and sign you up for a sales pitch of a seminar after youve checked in. During peak times, their parking lot will often fill up at night time and youll be sent to the crusty overflow lot across the street, but at least theyve got security that patrols both the on-site and overflow parking lots regularly. Overall, Id definitely return. One of my favorite hotels in the Orlando area.
Great stay, with excellent customer/room service! Nice pool, basketball court, game room, theater, and restaurants. Within 15 minutes of theme parks. Received 3 rating for smoking allowed in shared pool area with non-smokers, and childrens playground, beach volleyball and basketball courts closing at 7:00 p.m. while still daylight with guest wanting to recreate with their children. We selected the resort for the ammenities but got short-changed during evening hours.
I was completely satisfied with my four night stay. Its very close to all theme parks, they have scheduled shuttle buses there and back. The room was amazing like a small apartment including a kitchen, which I thought was really awesome!!! Housekeepers do a great job, when we needed towels etc. they were there right away. Parking can get a little crazy, so if there isnt enough space in the lot, there is a parking lot across the street. But I definitely look forward to staying at this location again! Thanks for your kind service!!!
Rooms are lovely. Front desk staff was a bit rude when I arrived. Interactions didnt get any better.EDIT: On the day of checkout I received a phone call asking if I could be given a tour and I would receive free breakfast. DO NOT DO THIS. Theyre trying to sell time shares. The standard rate on this loan is 17.99%.(no credit check taken into account) Theyre rude, and get annoyed that you dont want to spend $30k at a horrible rate!!!! Before this I would have recommended this place. I would have come back. After the treatment I was given I will NEVER return.Congratulations Westgate Palace. Youve received the only review Ive ever given less than 3 stars.
I’ve been a WG owner since 2003 and I was displeased with our accommodations. We stayed at the WG Palace 7/23/2021 and the room looked like it had not been updated in almost 20yrs.. The dishwasher and oven was rusted at the bottom, the master bedroom was extremely tight, the bed was definitely not a Queen. The tub was too small for my husband, who is 6 ft, to use it. There was only one remote for three different televisions. Checkin was a mad house, with the receptionist telling me she was happy I even had a room because they were overbooked and canceling people’s reservations. In addition, the one activity I was interested in doing was the paddle boat. Of course it was inoperable due to no motor in the safety boat.My mortgage for the property has been paid in full for 10 yrs and i pay my maintenance fees regularly. I would love to know what this fee is used for being as though the room given was a mess. I’ve stayed at better hotels and paid less than what we pay in WG maintenance fees. There’s no way anyone should pay what they’re charging for these types of rooms. Maybe they just gave us a bad room. Or maybe once you’ve become an owner, they don’t need to impress you anymore. All they care about is having more sales of timeshares instead of caring about their current owners. Of course, they tried to get my husband and I to take a timeshare tour. They must be crazy!! Why would I ever buy into this company again??? I will never stay here again!!! I will be using my interval international to exchange to a much better resort. The only good thing is the staff. They were all very pleasant.
My family and I stayed at the Orlando resort for 6 nights and on the first night my son went to go to bed and he took his blanket off of his bed and there was a big pee stain on his sheet. We were so exhausted we just stripped his bed and worried about it the next day. Then after being there for two days we went down to the pool ad there was so much stuff floating in it it was disgusting!! ( the next night was the same thing toilet paper in the pool). We went back up to the room and tried to call down to the front desk to complain and realized our phone doesnt work. So now the next day the safe messed up on us and had to have someone come up and fix it and I told the front desk about our phone not working and she said she was sending someone up to fix it and needless to say it didnt work the entire week! I used the dishwasher once and the entire load came out covered in a film so I had to hand wash everything! No spatula. And to top this all off I found a nasty dirty pair of poop stained underwear under my bed. Gross me right out!!!! My husband and I were thinking about getting a time share with this hotel but not after all of this! When I checked out I told the lady at the counter about all of our bad experiences and she told me to put it in the response email I will receive in the next day or two because corporate will see it and hopefully fix these issues and I was hoping to get a little refund or something but guess what no email was sent to me!( I even handed her a list of everything that was wrong) And after all of the money it cost us to stay there this is absolutely unacceptable!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!
Decent place. Spacious rooms. Downsides: 1) There shower drain was clogged and we had to take a shower with a puddle at our feet. 2) My card was blocked because I was traveling and during my second day of stay, the resort tried to add an additional hold which obviously didnt authorize, so they blocked my room key so that I couldnt access any of my belongings. I had to go down to the concierge and settle the bill in order for them to unlock my room so that I can continue staying there despite the fact that I had already prepaid for my entire stay. This is very ghetto.
Its just ok and Im being kind. They should at least offer free breakfast considering the fact that people have timeshares here. The rooms are also very outdated with old appliances. The sofa bed mattress was incredibly thin and needed to be replaced. Sales people all over the place scamming people for timeshares all day. Not worth it. It was again, just an ok experience.
Wifi absolutely sucks. When looking for somewhere to go to we have to waste about 30 minutes just for pages to load. Even most of the restaurants and amusement parks had better wifi. This is a hotel, why not have better wifi? I’m also disappointed that I found out they don’t make masks mandatory. We’re in a pandemic and I’m worried about my health. Even though I have these complaints this place was very suiting and a comfortable environment. People were nice and employees made sure to assist. Beds were comfy, rooms were nice and cool during summer, all and all if it werent for the wifi, I would rate it a 4.5 star.
We flew out of Tulsa to Sanford FL to go to Universal Studios and stay at West gate Palace for 4 nights/5days...When we arrived at Sanford the airline had lost my luggage...our universal tickets were in my luggage. The front desk informed me when we got there that they could print them off for me. So they did. The room we got was excellent!! It was on the 19th floor. Housekeeping even ended up doing our dishes in our sink. We felt so bad!! The front desk and the gentlemen bartender were awesome!! The whole staff was awesome!! We will definitely be staying there again!! Thank you so much for making our trip awesome!!
I would definitely recommend staying here for anybody traveling to the Orlando area. The two bedroom suite was excellent as its split for pan gives the kids a little bit of a private area and does the same for Mom and Dad as well. Had it not been for the weather we definitely wanted to use the paddle boats on the lake to the rear of the hotel. The full kitchen and available grillz by the poolside means you can definitely save a lot of money and live on vacation like you do when youre home. The pool area was great and if cookings not your thing they have a decent little sports bar with plenty of TVs, great food, and decently priced drinks considering youre on vacation.
The room is nice. We booked last minute so we had to sleep six in a two bedroom so I slept on the sleeper sofa and it was not very comfortable. Everything in the room was pretty nice. The parking situation is really why I rated it so low, it was terrible finding places to park when we got back from Disney at night, my father in law had to park across the street and walk four lanes to get to the hotel. Id stay here again, but the parking is really a turn off.
Please do not be fooled by their website. its definitely not what it appears to be. if you are looking to enjoy your vacation please do not stay at this place. my family and i had a horrible experience during our five day vacation stay. the shower would not drain, the washing machine was broke, our clothes came up missing and never returned, housekeeping did not change any sheets during the 5 day stay, one day the room wasnt serviced at all, it took more than 20 or 30 minutes to get towels on every request, the elevator took forever, or was out of service, and very limited parking. the resort manager and housekeeping manager needs to be replaced asap. they do not care or value you as a customer and will treat you like trash after they get your money. this place needs a full investigation done on them.
Went there to use a certificate I had for Drafts sorts bar. The place was nice and simple. A few big screens which were nice and the staff was really nice also. Not that big of a food selection but they have the basics and then some. Thunder a bit overpriced. They wanted $2 per topping for a burger no matter whether it was cheese, sauteed onions, bacon, whatever.
Location Is very good, close to everything, specially Disney Parks. Rooms are well cleaned and packed, the pool and the view is beautiful. Only downside, there is not morning buffet, which Is very weird for a resort, they have deli shop in which you can buy breakfast though
My ring was stolen while we were out and two people entered our room without our permission while we were out according to security and police. The do not disturb sign was on the door when we left and when we returned. The police are doing an ongoing investigation. Stained comforter & sheet. WiFi is expensive & not free. Activities cost extra money. Poor dusting in the rooms. Very slow check in. Water leak in room above us & they failed to give us a courtesy call. We found out after we went to take a shower and there was no water & we stepped into a soaking wet carpet that was soaked approximately 5 feet by 5 feet. We called the front desk and then they told us about a pipe that burst above us that happened an hour prior to our call. They didn’t offer us proper additional accommodations and wouldn’t refund us for our remaining stay so we could find a room elsewhere. The carpet stayed soaked for 2 days. The issues go on and in further detail, but google will not allow me to post so many characters.
I have been an owner here for over 8 years…. If you have the opportunity to become a part of Westgate run!!!! The service is terrible and the way they treat you as an owner is beyond that..we were locked out of our room for over an hour and the only compensation was a $25 snack bar credit, which is useless to me!!! I would go somewhere else where they value you as a customer!
I stayed here for four nights with friends. It is a great location if you are looking to do the local theme parks (sea world, universal, etc). The room was nice and clean! Had two bedrooms and a kitchen. It was like a little apartment. I did complain that they ran out of parking and expected me to park across the street, which is fine. My issue with that is they offer no shuttle and expected me to cross in the complete dark and jay-walk (theres no traffic or street light), and lots cars are driving up and down this street.
Great location and easy to get to Universal and Islands of adventure. Everything was clean room was better than expected. This hotel had everything from large warm pool and spa, beach volleyball, basketball, arcade and too much to list. Even planned activities you could join during day. Would definently recommend
I travel a lot and this place was horrible. First off - they were unable to issue a key to your room for over 24 hours. Which sucked because you needed a key to get into the building, a key to get in the elevator and of course the key to get in your room. Waiting around for security to come to those building was nerve racking. Secondly these guys are constantly pushing time shares on you. We went down to have breakfast and apparently the $300 a night doesnt include breakfast unless you are an timeshare owner or agree to a 90 minute time share. So when we went to get a plate at the buffet, we were rushed by a arrogant sales guys asking if we were owners. We were escorted out if the room.I would suggest if you and your family are on vacation avoid Westgate Resorts in Orlando.
Very nice experience. The rooms are newly remodeled and beautiful and clean. The staff is excellent, each encounter I had with any type of hotel staff was superior. I highly recommend this hotel.
The activities by the pool on the weekend were great. Rooms are small. As are the gym, arcade and fitness room. Premium cable is only in the common area, not in the bedrooms. If your not in the main building there is no staff to address needs as towers main lobby are unstaffed. This was a last minute booking but never again - So disappointed 😞.
Before booking here very helpful to read the bad reviews first as they all hit it on the nail as far as describing this place. Location is really the only good thing about this place like 5 to 10 min from universal. We checked into our room to find out one of our toilets was clogged up so they upgraded us to another room. We went out the next day hoping to return with clean room with fully stocked towels shampoo etc. We returned with a do not disturb sign on the door and nothing cleaned or restocked. We called for towels and for someone to come up and clean the room as we were going to the pool. Upon returning to the room nothing was done we called again for towels and service. Finally called again and a girl made up beds and left towels on counters. Ac broke before we left that night to go out we called them to fix it when we returned it was fixed however upon returning there was no where to park and they tell you to park across the street and walk over. As a paying customer I shouldnt have to park across a street and then walk over if anything they should have complimentary valet. What if I was hit by a car walking over to the hotel. I could have paid a way cheaper price and had all this stuff happen at a run down hotel. This place is a bust I hope people dont experience what me and my family had to go through do yourself a favor dont stay here.
Once you get past the initial sales pitch about timeshares and being an owner they are very accomodating. The rooms are spacious, clean, and feature a full kitchen. A great location if you plan to go to Universal Studios or anywhere along International Drive.
We stayed in a 2 room suite, had a living room and full kitchen. Very spacious, and couch bed was comfortable. Showers were clean. Only issue is downstairs has a full bar, but not a full kitchen. Just pizza and some cafe items. Still good though, would stay again. Also walking distance from Universal and Wet & Wild.
Good service, the bed sheets need to be renovated. I truly believe the human factor has been the most important asset the resort has. The administration should invest more in maintaining their asset. Overall satisfied with the experience.
Room was very nice although the dryer took 4 rounds to dry and the tub had no hot water. The main disappointment was that there is no restaurant and the pool bar is outrageously priced and seldom open. The night before we left, we couldnt use the pool as there was a large group of rowdy foul-mouthed young men that took over the place and it was not a safe environment especially for children. I would not stay there again.
The room was clean overall. The most helpful person was the gentleman who took us to our room. The restaurant in the lobby had good food but the menus were too dirty to touch. Also you would wait at the bar for service even when you’re the only person there. We went grocery shopping to cook in the room. (Full kitchen.) when I realized that I forgot black pepper. I asked if I could use a pepper shaker and was handed a few pepper packets. I explained that I was cooking for 6 the woman at the counter insisted that’s all she could give me.All this happened before they pitched us the timeshare deals. Needless to say they all had a hand in making it incredibly easy to say NO!
We booked the Westgate Palace for a quick overnight stay. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised by how nice the resort is. At my sons request, we got a room on the 17th floor. It was absolutely beautiful and felt like a private residence. We were very comfortable for our overnight stay. This hotel is perfectly located next to Universal Studios. We will definitely be back again soon.
This review is of the hotels customer service and operations. I cannot comment on the facilities. My family was invited to take a tour of the hotel in exchange for a promotional package. We gave up our own hotels breakfast and early access into Universal Studios to receive the tour. We were processed by three separate people, and the first two didnt note any issues. After we had wasted almost an hour of our time, the third person let us know we didnt qualify because issues with our IDs (mine being military). Once the issue was noted the lady at the desk let us know we were free to go. That was the end of it, no apologies and no attempts to compensate us for our lost time or meals. If possible I would advise you to stay at a hotel with more concern for its customer service, reputation, and potential patrons.
Not terrible but not the best either. Room was nice but the pull out bed was pretty bad and broken. Took 2 calls to the front desk before they sent someone to fix it. The person who came to fix it then had to send someone else to fix it and they fixed the broken frame but the mattress was still awful. Housekeeping uses the main elevators even though they have their own dedicated elevator. Called for extra towels and pillows and they never came. Overall room was clean and didnt have any funky smells. Also the refrigerator had an ice machine however turning it on ended up causing a massive flood in the refrigerator since it mustve had a leak.
This resort is amazing!! The rooms are all actually suites. Very spacious, full kitchens, and two rooms. Basketball court, volleyball, kiddy and main pool plus jacuzzi. Everything you can want in a resort but the one thing that blew my mind is the fact that the resort is situated on a lake. The views are absolutely beautiful!!
We were here on a family vacation! We just wanted our tickets to enter Universal Studios! We were promised ticket entry’s to parks at a lower price, all kinds of amenities, and a breakfast. They made us wake up at 8:00am for a breakfast that was horrible and had no taste when in reality it was to have a conversation with a “representative” who just wanted to convince my parents to buy a small portion of Westgate Resorts! The woman spent an hour and a half talking about this and just wasted our time! We wanted to make the most out of our day at the park but instead we ended up getting to the park later than we hoped. Onto the room, it was pretty small, not cleaned very well, and we found a strange bug on the pull out bed. Don’t recommend this resort, and if anything just avoid the staff!
Buyer beware!!Went for a tour of their facility. When I told the seller I was not impressed with the fact that they charge an extra $200. A week above what the monthly fee is and I was not at all interested, she went crazy on me!! She kept leaving me sitting at the table while she had to use the bathroom and get a pen and get a manager. Then she went as far as calling me pathetic for wasting my vacation time by doing a tour!! Yup, pathetic! She even had me sign a paper saying I would never do another tour with them! Then, for a parting gift they actually gave me a 3 night stay at one if there resorts. Filed a complaint against this worker with a manager. He promised to resolve the issue then call me with the results. Never heard from him!!
Great location to universal. Plenty of parking. Easy check in. Room was spacious. Only complaint was the horrible beds. Dont call yourself a resort if guests get a better night sleep on the floor opposed to the mattress.
We arrived on Tuesday and the room we are in has no hot water, we have called and called and called to get this problem fixed and yet this problem has not been fixed. They want to sale a time share and they tell yall its the best resort in the country but they cant even provide hot water for there gest, the girl at the front desk offered us to move us to another room witch would have been great if they had done this the first day we got there not the las day we would b here.
