What a fun bar!! It’s stylish, quirky, and very relaxing. It’s a shame there aren’t more bars like this. The staff here really make everyone feel welcome.The drinks are very unique and the male bartender customized my ‘Always Money’ to my liking. My cousin had the ‘Sex Work’ where it came in two separate glasses- the Cava in one & the passion fruit vodka in the other. I hope that type of drink takes off even though it means the dish washer will be extra full!Portland itself is a very friendly, quirky city. The Mary is definitely a top place to visit.

Vibes, drinks, music: all immaculate. Got the forgotten paradise cocktail and it was perfect. Very nice little space, great lighting, super friendly bartenders. Felt safe going there alone and had a nice chat with some strangers. Will definitely be back. Thanks for being here for the queers!

Original cocktail recipes in a fun disco style setting! I came during a parking ban, so it was very quiet. However, the ascetic was enough to keep the vibe going. Also, Kathleen rocked! Im sure that helped too! 🥳

Warm, welcoming, and wonderful! The perfect cocktail bar, just what Portland needs. Isaac and team are amazing, always delivering terrific cocktail creations and matchless hospitality. My favorite thing is to let them take lead and make an off menu cocktail. Highly recommend a visit as part of any trip to Portland.

Super cute, went to see a local artists art up! Had a lovely little drink, and enjoyed the vibes a lot.The space is a little small, and i imagine could feel quite cramped on a really busy day.Doesnt seem to be wheelchair accessible unfortunately.

Cute little bar! My drink was delicious. It took a bit for the bartender to notice me and asked for my order. They have a nice dancing floor set up and an outdoor area, perfect in the summer.

Unique and cozy corner for upscaled cocktails and drafts. Walking distance from most downtown restaurants, and overall a must see in Portland. I highly recommend for drinks

Not only do they serve up cheeky, world-class cocktails & the most delicious bites (I still dream about the roulade with beach rose & strawberry jam), but Isaac and the team behind the program are stellar human beings with a true dedication to the community. If it’s important to you to support good people and good practices, make this your bar!

We went to this place on a pretty quiet night. The vibe is awesome - really love the lighting, decoration and staff is very friendly. I found the cocktail list somewhat basic and limited for a cocktail bar and while we only had a few drinks I found them to be somewhat imbalanced with a lot of sweetness. The food options were very limited but I guess that can be expected for a cocktail bar. This might be more in line with other peoples preferences but I probably won’t rush back.

Best little bar around. Visited Portland for our honeymoon last fall and we went here on our last night. They had a wood fired pizza vendor out front and comforting digs on the inside. Friendly, knowledgeable staff who advised on some choice places to dine and history of the city. Will come here when were back in town.

Unique and delicious drinks, the bartender Zack was superb at recommending drinks and chatting. I felt at home here and would definitely come back again!

Most personable and knowledgeable bartenders I’ve met in Portland. Zero pretentiousness, just pure unbridled enthusiasm for their craft. My wife and I came in an hour before things got really busy with happy hour, and both bartenders (sorry I have since forgotten their names…. they have only themselves to blame as the cocktails were wonderful and strong, effectively clearing my brains’ name cache) had fun making suggestions of creative cocktails based on what spirits and other elements we liked, or didn’t like (lemon bad, lime good). We had so much fun all thanks to the very talented staff.My advice, buy a coffee machine, skip the non-sensical barista tips, save your cash and come to Cocktail Mary and TIP BIG!

I went here last night (Friday) and had the best night. Tonight (Saturday) ended up being a bad experience because there was an incredibly rude bar tender with a beard ( David) who made us feel unwelcome. This is supposed to be a non judgement welcoming bar but this guy was mean and made my friends and I feel ridiculed. We were dancing, having a good time, being respectful and not bothering anyone else in the bar and he tried making us feel bad out ourselves. My husband and I, along with our straight friends, came here because we thought it was accepting and a judgement free place. We felt that this was not a welcoming, gay friendly bar. Would not recommend. I thought this was a safe space. I was mistaken

Cocktail Mary is the epitome of the vibes just being right. Whether it’s a chill drink and a snack on a weekday or dance party weekend, it’s always such a joy to hang here.

This could not have been more of an amazing place to go while in Maine. Issac was incredible the bar was amazing and the drinks were perfect. It’s pretty much the only queer owned spot to go to in Maine. Being able to converse with the owner was beautiful and for him to be so sweet I loved the whole experience

I ordered from you guys yesterday for the first time, absolutely loved it! I had the Brit Rose cocktail and some cheddar dill crackers. Enjoyed everything and great hospitality too, especially in these weird times! Will order again soon! Thanks for being there.

Bartender girl very rude, I thought small city bars were supposed to be friendly, very disappointing

I went tonight with my parents and my sister and her boyfriend. We were blown away with how good the Corn Pot de Creme dessert was garnished with the local Maine blueberries that we ordered two more. As we left, my mom and I were talking about how much sweeter the staff were. Our server, Camila was amazing and her supporting server (I’m so mad we never got his name) was also an absolute gem. We were all visiting from out of state celebrating my birthday (me from DC, my parents from NY and my sis and her bf from Utah), so if you’re local please eat and drink there regularly on our behalf!

Such a cute place! Was in Portland for vacation and was looking for a great spot to grab a drink that was LGBTQ+ friendly. Casual, great cocktails, great bar staff, and lovely bar apps as well.

This is a wonderful cocktail establishment, with very hospitable owners and a great selection. Always love stopping by for a to-go drink or a nice time on a bench with a few delicious cocktails. My most favorite drink is frozen Piña Colada, the best I’ve tried in the USA. I Highly recommend this place!Ps. They also deliver cocktails through carhop! Check it out!

The best bar that I have been to in Portland (also queer friendly and local). Incredible drinks with a super friendly atmosphere. A really fun spot that anyone who visits should check out. The owner Isaac is a joy.

What a fun little bar! This was recommended to use by a bartender at another bar.They have a great selection of cocktails and mocktails.

$8 for a can of beer (yes I know its a cocktail bar, it wasnt my choice), and I get given a different one from what I ordered!Staff were less than enthusiastic too. I guess their cocktails are tremendous because I cant think of any other reason to go.

Try the “Bread.” Focaccia with a “tomato pesto.” Wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend! They also have a great frozen Miami Vice.

Unfortunately we did not have the same experience as others who gave good reviews. I and my friend tried to find a seat outside yesterday but first decided to ask inside if we should wait before seating ourselves and the server was very snotty, so we left. Not a warm welcome at all.
