This place really undersells itself with their slogan the most okest bar in Portland, because in reality they are much better than that. Great atmosphere, service, and lots of live music. Its my number one local bar, and I cant recommend it highly enough. 10/10

Ive never eaten here, but the service and atmosphere are top-notch if youre looking for a real Portland dive bar. Great themes that everyone is into. All around, good folks, patrons, and staff alike. Youll leave in better spirits than you walked in with.

Love this place. It’s a great local bar with good drinks, great music, and even Euchre! Now they’re even offering food Thursday through Sunday. Check out their Facebook pages for menus and nightly happenings. The bartenders are great. I especially love how supportive this bar is of the local community.

This bar is like every other bar on foster. Pretty divey and a bit quirky. Theres nothing that really stands out. But that being said I didnt have a bad time. Catch it on a good night and you might hear some rad music.

I’m honestly a little hesitant to write a review on the best kept secret of Foster purely for gatekeeping reasons. But alas, here I am, because this place deserves all the stars. Ya know when people say “old Portland is dead” ? Well it’s alive and well at Starday. Bands play nightly and you can sit so close to the musicians you’re practically a groupie. There’s something called Shaq night, but that’s all I can say on the matter. You’ll have to go and see for yourself. If you live in the neighborhood, it’s hard not to become a weekday regular.

Called and conveniently spoke with the owner who helped make the impossible happen. Amazing and super friendly. Live music is incredible. I live in Florida... Never stepped 1 foot in here, yet, I know its amazing based on the customer service. Go! Have fun!

I was the DD for my girlfriends, the bartender and the 3 customers at the bar (employees from tavern) tried to get us out of the racist bar! That all said my friend was being aggressive. Snatched a drink it if her hands... I have never been so insulted. The bartender had several other she drunk loud people and he kept serving them?! Super messed up

Nice, small bar. The bartenders are all very friendly, especially the owner Justin -- and his little dog takes his job as mascot very seriously and is adorable and friendly as well. Solid, cheap drinks, Giants Pizza by the slice, live music most nights of the week, this place is fun and welcoming.

The place is owned by two very awesome people and the bartenders are just as rad.The bar itself is small and cozy always clean. Not really a food-centric bar but they do have some amazing pop up menus sometimes from local food carts and such.Its also DOG FRIENDLY which is rad!Theres tables out front but no patio and the patrons are usually super friendly. One of my favorite local haunts for sure.

Its all a vibe here. Great staff thats on the ball. Drinks are fairly priced. Old school dive ambiance. Would definitely come back. Looking forward to making some memories here.

A nice little bar right off the street. They had open mic night while we were there and had a great surround sound. Drinks were good and prices were fair. I looked like an idiot cause there is a order here sign you stand under. They have a few slot machines in the back if you want to play. Few booths then tall seating. Bathrooms were clean as well.

Pretty standard bar with nice staff,1 star off for the outdoor seating that for some reason seems to promote cigarette smoking. With a cigarette rep handing out coupons for them outside and everything.Weird. Otherwise great bar

Staff is friendly, place is a no frills, no BS kinda bar. Totally great to just hang out with a small group for good conversation and chill after work. You can make friends or remain anonymous. Plus, I hear they sometimes have live music (probably weekends) and Euchre + $3 Margarita Mondays.

The Best OK Bar In Portland.... Screw that this place is AMAZING! The bands and the djs they have come through totally take me back to the good part of the 90s! The owner and staff are way great and super fun and friendly people!

My favorite bar for so many reasons. Wonderful owners, startenders and regular patrons, dog friendly (and the best bar dog in Portland, Ghengis, is usually there to happily greet people), live music on the regular, cozy atmosphere too! I could go on and on.

Good pizza great drinks and super cool people. It was chill. The music was was diverse and entertaining. Im definitely going back!

Very nice bar. Cool memorabilia. Located in the heart of Fopo. Menu shows drink specials on week days. Looks like good deals. I went for the music. I was very comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

My friends and I had a great time. The live bands were great and the people behind the bar were actually friendly and relatable. It was really busy, but in a bustling, fun way.

Friendly staff and a neighborhood atmosphere combination is why I rated this little hole in the wall place so high. The margaritas are good & strong. The typical bar food was OK, but a little pricey $$.

I used to be able to go here for a cheap strong drink in a small dive bar. But now my conscience wont let me. Bringing health and safety violations to their attention meant being met with banning, attitude, and dismissiveness. You can tell they have no interest in obeying the law and being good examples for the Foster Road area as it grows. Recently the owner suggested on a neighborhood web site that my family deserved to be burglarized. These are petty people that dont deserve your business.

Brought in an empty can, didn’t find a recycling bin, bought a drink from them, was kicked out for bringing “outside drinks” by a bald man 10 minutes later.

Would have been a cool bar if the bartender Ryan (Brian?) wasnt such a jerk. Note if you read below all the poor reviews are a result of such treatment. Music is good, prices are about what one would expect.

Good folks... Justin is the jam...his dog too. Clean and friendly...and nice vibe...Better Call Saul vibe..Easy place to meet new friends and laugh about daily stuff. Even though is is kinda sketchy around the hood...you always feel at home there. Open mics night and poker if you are bored. cheers.!FYI...ask before you bring youre dog in.

Went here for bingo night. Free, and super fun. Cozy little establishment with lotto machines in the back. Staff is great. Good place for getting drunk at, not much in the way of food though.

Justin allowed two of my Bands to play their. The Algorhythmics &, Wild Turkey Surprise. Great music, great people &, great atmosphere. They have trivia night &, bingo night. Its a great neighborhood bar in Se Portland.!!!!!!DL, Sparkman.

The third friday djs are wicked good. All over the board musoc wise. Probably the best dive bar in Portland. No pretentious people here, just great people and a great staff with a fantastic beer selection.

Friendly staff behind the bar, owner thanked us for coming in. Good selection of beer and ciders. They were having euchre and movie night with free popcorn. Pretty cool.

The bar is like any other bar Except! They have Ghengis. Hes such a cutie french bull dog. Hell join you in your adventure at the bar if you give him some good belly rubs and maybe a french fry.

A cozy neighborhood bar that is setup for live music. Friendly staff, good pub grub, reasonable drink prices, and vintage decor make for a pleasant atmosphere. Tuesday nights feature an open mic jam.

Went on Wednesday night, played and won bingo. Bartender was lively and chill. Would definitely come back in the future. *Side note - prizes were great (won a tiger onsie)

An actual dive. Gypsy jazz playing on the speakers outside and dim lighting on the inside. They have live music that compliments the wire strung lights and fans that slowly churn to the beat. Its the best dive on the strip.

This place is my favorite dive bar in town. I love the bar dog and his owner is hilarious. Make sure you check them out on $2 Tuesday and stay till midnight for a treat

Great vibe, great lighting and the cutest dang mascot in town. This place is a little hidden gem off of Foster that hosts some really raucous dance parties.

This is literally the best bar south of division on a weeknight. Between the free midnight shots, the eclectic DJ and the all over no-cover night club vibe, this bar is where its at.
