BUSY, but accommodating to everyone.Great music (hip hop) and cool vibes. Prices are good considering everywhere else downtown. Gets alittle WILD and packed at times, but always a good time! Lots of security so you feel safe and good customer service.

My sister & I were just visiting and decided to go out & we chose this club. We had a blast! My sister got a little too faded so we ended up getting the boot but prior to that we loved it! The security took excellent care of my sister while we waited for our ride... The vibes arent for everybody but if you like hip-hop and dancing with random people definitely check this club out.We had a great time!

Reserved a vip table last weekend for my friends birthday. Was our first time out at the club. Our host was amazing.. didn’t catch his name. Bottle service was also great, brought us out a birthday sign and lights. I would say it’s a fun place to go if you like BUSY.

Celebrated my brothers 21st and had an amazing experience as always!!! I go to shake almost regularly and get vip because I love the club!

Uhh maybe cuz I’m from Denver but $20 for a l girls cover not worth the entry…. Won’t give it another try personally as we walked through the ghetto to even get to this dumpster

Fun place to go to with some friends. Good music, good drinks, a great dance floor.The drinks are a little marked up but the reality is all clubs are like that. I have been to clubs where the drinks are twice the amount they are charging, so Im not complaining.

Bad sound, $20 pp guy or girl, won’t be back and don’t recommend personally. Might as well go to 45 East every weekend personally.

The place is a hostile environment, it smells like marijuana, pure problematic people, a lot of litigation and apart from that a man threw me, it’s a place that I don’t recommend and it’s dangerous. The drinks are not good, they have excess salt

Was a crowded, overpriced club? Bar. Extremely ghetto. Also, I bought one $15 drink on Halloween (Tuesday) and was charged $35.75 Friday morning. So they also STEAL your money? Interesting. By the way the drink I got was a pre made blood bag where nobody even made the drink. It was handed to me out of a plastic bowl for $15 i couldn’t even tell if there was alcohol in it so I gave my friend a sip and they asked if it was non alcoholic too (he doesn’t drink hard liquor). Also, they charged different people different prices for entry fee. Portland doesn’t have the best clubs but this is by far the worst. Also the hot girls on instagram im not so sure, this place is filled with C grade employees with a D- attitude. Welcome to Shake Bar.

From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted by a vibrant and energetic atmosphere. The venue itself is stunning, with stylish and modern decor that sets the perfect mood for a night of revelry. The lighting and visuals were mesmerizing, adding an extra layer of excitement to the overall ambiance.

Get in for free before 11, gets pretty crowded but still fun

Nice staff here treated us well! Security let us through like VIP didn’t have to wait in line.:) they add gratuity to drinks is the bad thing but the vibe and music was great !

Shake is pretty cool. Line looks long but you’ll get in eventually. Security is on point. Management is on top of things if you need something. One of the owners is always there to make sure that customers are happy. Best club in Portland. Variety of Latin, hip hop, r&b and some rap. Definitely dress well and you get to cut the line too!

Dance floor was waaay to small for the amount of people they allowed. Imagine half the dance floor being occupied by the lines for the bar.I guess if I wanted more space I could have paid for one of the VIP section, but Im just one person. I cant speak on the drinks because I only went to dance... otherwise the cover charge was standard $10, The music was hip hop and Latin, and it attracted a beautiful crowd. One guy made it rain dollars bills, so I grabbed enough to cover my entry and two red bulls. Would I go again, not likely, although I did get two free cover tickets for my next nights out. Well see though. I think Portland has more to offer.

Tbh music was alright but I got assaulted there by some 40 year old looking man last night. I wasn’t even dancing or drinking and was sitting down and waiting for a friend to get back from the bathroom and when I told security about it idk if he heard me but they didn’t do anything about it. Then the man that tried to put his hand down my pants had the nerve to try to sit at the table with me later in the night. Oh how badly I wanted to beat his a**! Not sure if it’s Portland’s club scene or what because I frequent raves, concerts, dive bars, and the goth bar and I’ve never been assaulted like and disregarded like that ever at those places. :(

Was fun u til the next day when Im home in Seattle they falsely chargey card extra money saying for tip . When I know I never gave a tip because I only had 1 double and bought someone else 2 doubles and never put tip due to club already being so packed. They are ok but workers r real scammers. Id pay in cash cause they think everyone is to drunk to remember

Dance floor is tiny compared to the people they let in. Constantly told me to put my mask on but wouldn’t tell everyone else to do the same. One drink was $15 and cover charge was $10. Only for me and my friends to stay for a good 30 minutes because it was way too crowded, crowd seemed to be a little rude and not welcoming staff. Definitely try cc slaughters If you want to feel welcomed and treated respectfully.

Biggest scam of my life. We heard that the cover was $10 but the bouncer switched it up on us. $30 for females and $40 for males. Some people payed $20. Felt unfair and discriminated against. Why am I paying Vegas prices in Portland? It’s not worth it, they robbed us.Bouncers were rude and unfriendly to guests. They act like they’re superior & own the place. Bouncer behavior was horrible and acted like animals. For example, when they were throwing dollar bills, the bouncer tried to step on my fingers purposely when I was picking up dollar bills. As I walk out of the club with money, the bouncer outside tried snatching it out of my hands.

Don’t come here unless you want to get jumped by the bouncer’s goons. My friend and the bouncer had an argument over the cover because they tried to charge us more than we agreed upon. We paid them what they wanted and as we were walking away my male friend got jumped by two men and my gf and I had to get involved to try to protect our friend. This place should be shut down. The bouncers have friends who jump people to send a message. I should not have to fear for my safety or my friends’ safety when we’re are just looking for a fun night out.

Was kicked out for no reason. They said I was puking and I had one drink all night. I paid for three people and to get in and they kicked us out for no reason. This place is a money grab and they’ll kick you out after they take your money. Stay away!

I am shocked that this place has so many stars. My husband and I attended a birthday party for one of my girlfriends there last night and it was hands down one of the most awful experiences I have ever had at a nightclub. My girlfriend paid over $1000 dollars for her VIP table and wasnt even able to get inside for a good 30 min. The staff was rude and completely unaccomadating. Once we finally got to the table we couldnt even enjoy the bottle she bought for the table (it was locked and there was no one in sight to serve it to us almost the entire time). We had strange men that came and sat at our table and refuse to leave and when we had security come to ask them to leave the table the guys straight up said no we arent going to leave and security just walked away!! It was crowded and when I left the table to go to the bathroom I wasnt allowed back in to the VIP area where our table was for another 30 min. At that point I just wanted to get my stuff and leave but the security refused to even allow me to go to the table to do that!! I was forced to wait in that stupid line just so I could get my things to leave! DO NOT GO TO SHAKE. DO NOT spend your money here. These people have no idea how to run a club and take care of their high paying customers. Worst experience ever.

This is a horrible club. I will never return. Random security guard started manhandling my small female friend all because she accidentally fell on the floor BECAUSE the venue is too small for amount of people they let in. Then I took it up with management that they were being aggressive towards us and the manager/owner led us right down the street to another club he supposedly also owned, and said he would personally pay our cover fee. Then right when we got to the door he switched it up and wouldn’t allow us in that club either. Everyone who worked there was extremely rude.

The music was great. But $67 for two shots and two drinks? That’s a joke Portland. Someone said it was $10 coverage, well atm it’s $20…unless you got hook ups..btw cash only! So heads up for any new comers.

We reserved the VIP hip/hop room put $300 down. When we arrived they walked us to a table. I asked what table that was they stated the fireplace. Price difference between fireplace and hip hot is $200. They had no intention of telling me they downgraded us. Luckily melissa a girl who works there gave us a different table and two bottles plus champagne for the $300 I put down originally. She informed me that someone put $600 down on the hip/hop room. I think class goes a long way regardless of establishment and this act was not classy.On another note their dance floor is so incredibly small. And not enough seating so people are quite literally milling around the dance floor space.*security was awesome.. super respectful!*melissa tried but to be fair if I put a security deposit down that should be considered law.*seven in bend Oregon can definitely give you pointers. Still our top club.*will try dirty next time we are in portland.

Bar was nice great drinks a bit pricey. I went Friday night and had the best time but Saturday started off promising until the Dj for got how to spin. Worst Dj ever! Starts and stops ,highs and lows all night. Their were several people complaing to the point the bar lost money because people left including myself. The Dj is probably a great guy but he needs to finehobby. another hobby

Had a fantastic time there, DJ was amazing, staff excellent and friendly, danced until I was half blind with sweat then danced some more! Dropped one star because the music was WAY too loud for the small space (I usually enjoy loud music but this was insane), it was uncomfortable to be there and my ears hurt for hours after leaving. Adjust the volume and you shall have all my stars and much repeat business, Shake! :)

Some friends and I were here on New Years Eve and will not be returning due to the bad experience. Rude bouncers. Weak drinks. Not a lot of room to dance. There are way better clubs in Portland and I would never go back to Shake.

The place is overpriced and overrated. You can hardly dance and getting a drink is a pain, considering you have to pay $10-20 to get inside. Though it wasnt their fault that someone had a bowel accident on the dance floor, they were quick to react and were professional.

This place was discussing! Not only did they say it was $12 for a 6oz cup full of pineapple juice and a drop of tequila. They DOUBLE CHARGED ME FOR IT!!! $30.96 for a 6oz cup such a scam!

My friend and I had a good time dancing. The new ownership did a good job of making a cool new layout with two different dancing areas. However, we got really bad, pretentious vibes from people populating the club.

I was in this club for my friends birthday. Our bar tender not only noticed when i finished my drink, but came over right away and asked if i wanted another one, but remembered what i was drinking. Not only that but noticed that on my first drink i asked for more juice ( was a vodka orange) and made it to my likeing without me saying anything. Will defiantly comming back!!!

Im just not into EDM, so that is my fault. But I wish the house lights went dimmer so that it can be a little more intimate. The R&B side was popping when we would go to the other side of the curtain, wish the part was bigger. A dude and my friend had a break dancing battle, very happy that no one tried to stop them.

Dress well and come for dj dubstep. Not a bad venue but your crowd can change the experience drastically. If you bring your own entourage, youll have a good time. If you are bringing a date, have a backup plan because you may get a pretentious crew.

I had such a bad experience… security treats you like trash or they simply choose to ignore you, I felt so bad looking how do they talk to people after the fact that they go to spend their money there, the whole staff should work on there public relationships and freaking manners, if they even know what those that means… never freaking coming back or recommending after such a trashy interaction.

Venue lacks any professionalism. Kicking off and not paying booked DJs (in a packed room?!?) when management decides they would rather a different type of music. Not to mention screwing over customers left and right. Giving away reserved and paid for ViP tables when somebody with more money comes through. As well as security that would rather be on their phones than letting guests into the venue.

Our bartender (Tara) was awesome, bottle service was great..however at 10pm on a Friday my friends and I were the only people in the club. We were celebrating a bday and reserved a table and the DJ was incredibly rude to us and refused to play 1 r&b song for her (birthday sex)...AND WE WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE IN THE CLUB...I asked if its only hip hop played there or if they ever play any dance music, like Odesza, and he tells me uh yea I dont even know why that is..😂😂😂😂 youre a nightclub DJ and you dont know who Odesza is!? The DJs attitude pretty much threw a wet blanket on the experience so we left; and then at 11pm the club was literally empty. Kind of a bummer experience and I used to bartend years ago in some of Portlands hottest clubs(2007-2010; Barracuda, Aura, Gypsy, Lotus...) and currently work summers at Las Vegas biggest pool parties. Your bar staff is great; but your DJ needs improvement. :/

PLACE SUCKS, save ur money for a place that doesnt have terrible management. the bouncer and staff out front are extremely rude and unprofessional. inside was dirty and small. im not sure if its some new management but this place has gone downhill fast. id rather be under a portland underpass than shake. save ur money DO NOT GO!!!

Good atmosphere. The VIP lounge was a little too loud. And that is saying something since I listen to my music loud. Entrance fee was $10 for girls and $20 for men.

Great music. Great vibes. Overpriced drinks & insane covers. Be prepared to spend money! It’s packed like sardines in there as well. Very fun though 👌🏽

I guess Im not much of a night club guy... this place is the favorite of some friends, but I found it a liiiiittle too far on the Seizure-inducing strobe lights/bass so loud you cant actually hear the music end of the spectrum.$10 cover wasnt heinous on a Saturday night, and a lot of pretty ladies doing their thing, but ultimately, I prefer places where you can dance when you want to, and talk/drink when you dont. This place, you have to touch your mouth to someones ear and shout to be heard, and that was in the quiet half... the VIP area was physically painful.If you want to dance and not talk to anyone, this place will do the trick I guess. Just know youre going to have tinnitus for a couple days afterwards...

Great place for dancing, without judgement, and drinks!! Definitely wear waterproof shoes and/or slip proof shoes, lots of spills and party fouls happening on the dance floor (when the good songs come on).

Worst club in pdx, music was mid, you can barely move bc everyone’s packed like sardines, and random creeps will grope you.

They charged $50 to my card for $22 worth of drinks. Ive been trying to call Shake to get a refund since mid-January, but they have not answered-- no matter the day or time.

I went to a pub crawl that was connected to this bar and it was a scam, my friends and i still had to pay cover charges to this bar and others that were listed to be under the pub crawl ticket as ‘free’.

First time going in and last was charged $48 for 2 small gin and tonics 😡 wasnt my kind of vibe anyway but stepped out of my comfort zone and tried something new

Went there with a couple of friends and they wouldn’t let me in because I had a j in my pocket which I completely understand so we decided to go somewhere else but my two friends had already paid the cover charge and didn’t even go in and they refused to give their money back even though WE DIDNT EVEN GO IN.... crooked bouncers.

First time attempting to go to this establishment and was denied entry due to my hat and shorts (didn’t know it was a dress code) but upon my arrival I could tell the business was very unorganized and security didn’t know what was going on, but it’s 20 dollars saved that’s for sure!

We had a table here. My friend was jet lagged and fell off the couch, but got two large Xs on both hands and was told he was cut off. He wasnt really told why or how they came to that conclusion. Also, no asian women here.

Shake is a must on the weekends if you’re going downtown or to Chinatown looking to mingle, always a vibe.
