The block party was incredible, dj didnt really play enough house/trance for me but it was an amazing and fun time. Was really well done.

I had went to this club for a friend’s birthday and they tried to tell me I’m dressed “to straight” like what I thought this place was supposed to be “judge mental free” then as I’m enjoying myself after they finally let me in I started a conversation with a women who I thought was very beautiful. I then asked her if she would like to dance. She agreed and she started dancing on me. It was maybe 2 mins into us dancing I got approached by two gentleman who worked for the club and they escorted me and my other friend out of the club and then they explained to us that this is a gay club. We understood that. They continued to tell us that we were “preying on women”. Mind you we walked in and went straight to the back/outside to smoke. We didn’t attempt to talk to anyone as we were also the only ppl in the outside area. (It was 12:30. 30 min before closing on a sunday. im assuming they close at 1) I had the conversation with the girl after leaving the outside area and dancing inside the club. As me and my friend are talking to the security they snatch my friends drink out his hand completely splashing it all over him. (They broke the cup all over him) they threatened us multiple times saying they would pepper spray us or beat us up after we were trying to explain ourselves. I completely understand this is a gay club but I have been to this club multiple times and never had a problem like this. I was in ego for probably 10-15 mins the most and all this happened to me it’s completely unacceptable. If I’m having a good time and dancing with a female I deserved to get treated like dirt? All bc i “dress to straight”. Worst club ever!

I would love nothing more than to watch this business go under. The bouncers are extremely rude and disgusting (as you can see in other reviews). They treat their CUSTOMERS, like trash and will let you know that they don’t even need you in the club. The bouncers act as if they’re guarding some high end club, all the while it’s actually reminds you of cheap dive bar. Dont give this business any of your money, go elsewhere. Business owner, if you’re reading this, I hope you fail.

I used to come here from mid 2021-summer 2022. none of my experiences were ever worth it. the staff took their jobs WAY too seriously, as noted by other reviews. i saw a girl get kicked out for absolutely no reason, at least i didn’t see anything visibly wrong while she was dancing with me. if you’re an attractive and visibly gay individual you’ll have a great night here! but if you don’t meet the staffs’ standards good luck lol. the general atmosphere was also judgemental as hell. i got laughed at for socializing with other people. don’t waste your time here if you’re LGBTQ+ or struggle with self confidence issues. the community is not accepting if you don’t meet their standards and you will get extremely humbled. also, the bouncers pat you down in a way that could be borderline SA. honestly the whole experience was a little traumatizing.

Tried a new club for pride this year and unfortunately I have to give the worst review. There is zero reason that security people need to fondle anyone during a pat down. One shorter woman working security last night looked me up and down then caressed all around my breasts and down my entire body while making comments about my outfit. You’re supposed to use the back of your hands also. The whole situation was just insane and it’s sad that this seems to be a reoccurring issue for years now due to other reviews I’ve seen. One of the bartenders was wonderful but that’s probably the only good thing I have to say about this establishment and will continue going anywhere else for pride for years to come.

Im not sure what all these low reviews are about - absolutely love going out here when we are in Providence. The security out front is always friendly, the bartenders are amazing - in fact I havent run into any staff members that were not great to the groups I have been with. Music is always good and the dance floor is always full.My only complaint is the bathroom situation - they really could be paid attention to more. Lots of random things happening in there!

Rafel and Rob the two owners our wonderful guys and offer great services to the customers in this nightclub. It is cater to a younger crowd however anyone can have fun regardless of your age. The music is always great the staff tried their best to be nice to all the situations going on and most of all quite a few of the bartenders are very nice and helpful. They make good drinks that dont cost you a fortune and the dancers are always great. The security team is always good there and very overprotective which I think is valuable in todays climate . They do check you out the door and pat you down to check you over for safety which I fully agree with and Im glad they do so people are safe. The drag performers are amazing and well put together I totally recommend this place 100%.

Hello my name is Edwin, A GAY MAN. This post is being made just 3 hours (yes 3AM 6/7/2024) after my awful experience at this establishment. I am in the restaurant industry. I got out of work earlier than normal and made it to the doors of Ego PVD just a few minutes after 12AM. I come here every few weeks, usually on Fridays, but sometimes Saturdays, with my friends and co workers and normally have a fun time but tonight was a very uncomfortable experience with the “security” and or “bouncers.” One in particular, this tall light-skinned black man with a beard and bald head, who ruined my whole night. This man must be the head of security, because he was the most comfortable to exhibit his rudeness. I’ve encountered this man a MILLION time before but for some reason, tonight, he asked me and my friend if we were aware that it was a gay club. We were confused and told him yes and then he asked us if we were looking for boyfriends, which was particularly strange. I was the only one who said yes, but he apparently didn’t believe us and told us we had to step aside. Another group of boys came thru and he asked them the same question and made them step aside shortly after. The 2 security guards behind this man told me to come thru so we could be patted down and I proceeded but was stopped shortly after because I guess this man was assuming I wasn’t gay…? I told him I was a gay man and this was super weird cuz we have been here plenty times before ( I am 29 years old and have been coming here since I was 18) and he had a strong attitude. I was not happy with what was going on and expressed that it was very weird that he was asking about my sexuality and VERY ILLEGAL for him to try and refuse service to me based on an ASSUMPTION that I am straight . He then told me if I had a problem because he did not “HAVE TO LET ME IN.” But he allowed me proceed to go in with my friends, since I did not entertain the fight. I was still taken aback by what I was experiencing and some of the security on the outside of the partition noticed and asked if I had a problem. At this point I didn’t even want to go in, but l payed my $20 and went in anyway. I was so disappointed in myself and the establishment for what happened tonight. I’ve always prided my community and this establishment as a safe space with inclusion to all people, but tonight I got a taste of something I never believed I would somewhere I thought I could call a home. I did not have fun. All I could think about was reaching out to someone about this and beating myself up for not recording this interaction on my phone. THIS IS WRONG. I was planning on coming here for pride June 15th, 2024. And I just might, but I promise I will now record every time I come to this place. This is discrimination. Although I am not straight, this man assumed just by the way I looked that I didn’t belong at Ego. And I can understand that he is “looking out” for the community, but the principle is, he should not be refusing service based on sexual orientation. This is just as bad as being refused to go to a straight establishment for being gay, or a “white establishment” for being black. I would hope this will be rectified. This man needs a talking to. I will continue to go to this establishment, but I will record every time I do, because although I do not want to come after my own community, I will sue for discrimination the next time around. All I need is my proof, which I will have.

Ive been here a few times and its a fun night out. Staff is friendly to me. I lost my phone and someone thankfully turned it into the bar. Thank you CJ for being kind! I will say the crowd is very young. Early 20s. But you can still meet some cool people here. Just dont expect to make lasting friendships unfortunately. I will say, DJ could mix up the music. Not sure if they take requests but it is a lot of hip hop. Id love to see some rock or house EDM thrown in. The security Definitely Pats you down good. The girl there practically grouped me. I cant complain though, people are crazy nowadays. If you have pepper spray or anything for protection theyll hold it for you in the front. Theres also a coat room for $2. My fave part is the smoke room. Thats usually where I meet people. 2 bathrooms, one only has one big stall and the other has 3. No gender. Definitely could be more stalls and floors are grimes as hell. Just dont sit and wash ur hands lol cover is a little high sometimes at $20 usually if youre 18 and under. No entry after 1 am. They stop serving 1 hr before close. Lots of drag shows here and queens 👸🏽 💗🌹✨️ Say hi 👋Parking is a bit difficult to find. If you go past the club a bit on the left theres a lot thats free after a certain time. About a 2 min walk to the club. I always find parking there and its well lit. Police are always patrolling here.

Amazing staff that actually cares about the patrons. was escorted out tonight by security but not before them making sure i was hydrated and accounted for. thanks to the security would absolutely come back here again

For a $20 cover, it’s worthless. Don’t waste your time. The rules of not being allowed back in after 1a after robbing you of $20 is ludicrous. Save $20 & spend it on a better club. Especially, since they panic if you leave through the wrong door.

Not only is this club a waste of money but the staff are extremely rude. Especially the front door “bouncers”. Extremely discriminatory and rude to multiple people. Don’t come here and don’t waste your money.

I’ve been going to ego regularly for the past 5 years. It used to be a safe space for my friends and I to go and feel accepted/comfortable…until recently. The bouncers have been completely abusing their power. I recently went with a group of 8 friends. 4 of us got in, and the other 4 were told to leave and not to come back because they were too straight. They told us not to bring our straight friends back. That was the second time one of my friends wasn’t allowed in. The first time he wasn’t allowed in because he “looked like someone” who had gotten in trouble there weeks before. It was not him, and they did not care to listen. I do not feel like ego is a safe space any more. Security is way too strict and simply rude. They have no regard for the loyal customers who have been giving them business for years and years and will continue to cater to the young white college crowd.

If this had 0 stars I would rate it 0. The bouncers did not let me and my friends in because the guys looked straight and said the girls can get in though. This is absolutely disturbing! God forbid this happened at a normal club not letting in a LQBTQ member because they “look gay”. It’s 2023 either EGO needs to get new bouncers that don’t kick out people that look straight or I will ensure to start protests outside of the club on the public sidewalks. The bouncers are predators and are clearly trying to keep away masculine guys to ensure they have no competition to wonder off with under the influence people at the end of the night. It is absolutely sickening. Look at all the comments! This is not the first time this happened. It’s 2023 EGO… hire bouncers that can actually do there job and not act like there above the law. I don’t care that your a private club and can deny entry whenever. Just wait till cops find out under age people are getting in and “straight looking” people can’t. And the funny thing is my best friend is a trans man and he got denied to. It’s a joke. Bouncers all have zero respect and won’t go anywhere in life hence why they are 40 and bouncers.

If I could leave no stars I would. Bouncers would not let my friends into the bar because they looked straight. The gag is one of my friends is gay and the bouncer told him there had been a history of straight people causing violence in the club but my friend corrected him and told the bouncer he was gay. Then the bouncer kept changing his narrative saying Oh well sometimes it’s the gay people who start the violence. My friend is tall and black and this bouncer racially profiled him and assumed he was violent due to his race. This bouncer in particular abused his power and veiled his racism by pretending to care about queer lives when in actuality, he does not care at all about queer people. Definitely not black queer people. If you’re queer and black don’t come here! He and his other employees who didn’t call him out on his blatant racism should be fired. Period.

The music is absolute trash. every time i go i think it’ll be better but it only gets worse and i end up regretting spending $20. the dj is an old white man that plays music straight off of a millennials tiktok fyp. for a gay club you’d expect more .. not straight… music. trash…

They only play hip hop music. It’s a hop hop club that gay people go to lol. They pat you down which was already alarming I should’ve known it was not going to fit my vibe after literally saying I’ve never been patted down at a Gay Bar. If you’re looking for West Hollywood, Boystown Chicago, SF Castro, or New York Chelsea vibes you definitely will not find it here. No edm, no Britney Spears, definitely no classic gay hits. Most people are between and 21 and 28. They would get clientele with more money if they changed the music lol, but I guess when you charge 20 dollar cover it doesn’t matter how much people spend at the bar bc they already paid 20 to get in. I’ll have to just keep driving all the way to Provincetown when I want to have a Gay ole time❤️

First time at Ego. Time of reentry ends at 1AM, I went out to make sure my car was still good where it was parked. I came back at 12:40 and the security guards/bouncers said I couldnt get it in...first of all, I just wasted $20 for only being in there for 5 minutes. They close at 3AM on Saturdays. Then after waiting and waiting for the club bouncers to change their minds, the fire alarm for the building starts going off, so everyone leaves. Then they were saying people couldnt get in but eventually let us in. Unfortunately some people took off their 21+ bracelets off because they thought the party was over. My friend unfortunately was one of them. She asked one of the bouncers for a new one so she can drink and they kicked her out. Excuse me, one of the bouncers actually PUT their hands on her and kicked her out.I think security guards/bouncers forget that this is a CUSTOMER SERVICE job, if youre going to be working with people, please be kind and not rude.

Security guard wouldn’t let my friends and I in - January 28th because we weren’t “gay enough” it was my friends 23rd birthday this is our favorite spot to go every weekend. I used to tip my favorite bartender $20 as soon as I would walk in just because I love him so much (the one who usually dances behind first bar) I love how 7 out of 11 of us were all bisexual, trans, and Pans gender and the guy. And the lgbtq community at EGO pushed us away and discriminated against us. Never again will I spent a dime here and will make sure this place gets canceled due to discriminating against all of us for no reason

Security outside here is awful! They are rude, and arrogant. I went with 5 girls, and immediately was harassed by some old guy with a staff t-shirt. He started interrogating me about “why was I here” and “if I knew this was a gay club”. The experience was just shocking and I will never be returning here again.I promise you they will kill your vibe before you even step foot inside. It is absurd that these guys are still there because I thought these reviewers were exaggerated but nope.

Ego is a judgemental club so if you look straight or have straight friends you will be turned away by the guy at the door called Mike.The club is dirty the staff get security to clean up which isnt there job...if you want a clean bar hire cleaners.the bar also constantly smells of weed due to staff smoking inside.One dj just uses a YouTube mix all youve got to do is Google search the songs they play and itll come up with a YouTube Playlist.Nothing about this bar or club is lgbtq inclusive or friendly if the staff like you they will treat you well otherwise dont expect to get let in due to this mike wanting to be a God in this bar

I can’t say I don’t like some of the staff, aka one person. But the rest of the staff is absolutely terrible. They pitpocketed my brother and gave his wallet back to him with no money left in it. The STAFFFFFF stole 500 bills out his wallet. And least savory of all I get groped by the security upon entering.

Me and friends were supposed to go here for one of their birthdays and I’m 20 and when looking at my ID he refused to believe it was mine because in the picture my hair is curly and my hair is currently straight. I told him details on my ID and made me wait for someone else to check it. No one else came to check it and when we asked about it the security gave us attitude right off the bat. We don’t stand for unnecessary rudeness so we have it back to him and he told us to have a good night because his little girl feelings got hurt because three girls stood up to him and checked his attitude in front of his coworkers. Never ever coming back the staff is rude af

Environment was gross, people pat you down at the entrance between everything. My experience here was very unpleasant.

An unsafe and unwelcoming space. If you are a person of color, you will likely be denied entry. If you look remotely straight, you will likely be denied entry. I brought a group of friends here recently and everyone was allowed in except my friends with a darker complexion who were told they were better off next door at kulture where they belong and did not fit the atmosphere that Ego was trying to create. Another friend of mine (a straight man) tried to go here last weekend with his friends and was denied entry because he didnt look gay. Many others have shared similar experiences. EGO claims to be a safe space for everyone to enjoy no matter what background you possess, but how can that be true if the staff profiles you at the door before they decide to let you in or not? In my experience, the only people guaranteed a safe space at EGO are white women and white gay men. This is extremely disgusting and disappointing, especially from one of the largest LGBT+ establishments in the region.

This club used to be a space for me to be myself and have a guaranteed fun and safe night. Unfortunately, I cant say that after tonight. This was my go to spot in Providence. I drove down from Boston as always... The security said that I was not allowed in anymore because I did not look gay enough. I can no longer recommend this spot.

I had a great experience at this place back in February of 2020 until my LBGTQ+ friend got a drink and his head began to swell up which made me cry excessively and had an anxiety attack in public. I couldnt sleep the entire night because of it. I think one of the bartenders at EGO might have spike his drink, UNACCEPTABLE 😡.

This is the worst establishment I’ve ever been to. The place has minimal crowds and creeps. They have rejected my real ID as well because I didn’t have my Covid card in 2023. The people that work there have been quite rude every time I’ve been there (5 separate times). Would not recommend this place to anyone. Protect your peace

Whoever the short staff member with the hat is has a HUGE attitude. She barged into the bathroom banged on my door and demanded that I got out of the stall after being in there for 2 minutes because there was a small line. Build more stalls then? She goes “I WORK HERE, IM TRYING TO HELP YOU OUT! LETS GO! OPEN UP” as she pounds on the door. I was in there for two minutes doing my business. Great club but the staff are on power trips. It’s evident from the other reviews too. Do better EGO.Edit: the fact that things have just gotten exponentially worse since I posted my review 7 months ago says a lot. I brought down my review from two stars to one star.I will never even bother coming here again. And I’m discouraging my LGBTQ+ friends to do the same.RIP Ego

First time coming to this club all the way from Massachusetts, and boy am I disappointed! My friends and I got there around 12am and were let in no problem. At one point, we realized we left something in the car and had to go get it; we were under the impression that the cut off time was 1am, which we were informed about prior to exiting the club for a few minutes, and it was not 1am when we got back to re-enter. The bouncer refused to let us in, even though we showed our bracelets and told him that we weren’t told we couldn’t re-enter before 1am. They didn’t offer refunds either and were being incredibly rude to everyone. Never coming back AND ✨lawsuit✨ Also super unsanitary, and don’t think it would pass a health inspection :)

This has been my personal favorite LGBT club for over 4 years. From NYC to Miami, I always look forward to coming back to Ego. The staff is always friendly (be professional with the bouncers), the crowd is usually talkative and personable (unlike NYC’s sometimes pretentious crowds), and they play a wide range of music. The lights are super fun, (although I would love to experience more smoke production 😉) and the drinks are most likely poured on the stronger side. My favorite part is that no matter what you are looking for by going to this club, you will be able to find it. If you are like me and go to the club mainly to meet, talk, and dance with new people to good music, I am sure you will love it. I haven’t been since before the pandemic, so I will be sure to update my review after my next visit!

Hands down, always a good time.One of the best staff crew in all of providence.If you want to feel welcomed and safe, ego is the place to go. Music and drinks are on point.Definitely leave gratitude for your bar tenders and dancers. Hell even the security. My go to spot for the last 6 years and many to come. Keep up ego. Youre great.

Over the past few years ego has been widely known as a “gay” bar for underage straight teens to go get served and they really outdid themself this pride. i have never seen/known so many people under 21 blacked out in the streets of providence. horrid. points cus theyre queer and only cus theyre queer

Paid for me and my friend to get in and they wouldnt let me get a drink saying i needed a wrist band.then took my friends drink who had one because he was with me. went back outside to get one and the security guards were yelling at me saying i probably gave mine to someone when they never gave me one. didnt even atleast let me back in told me to get the f out of here. paid 40$ to walk in and out. would not give me my money back. wont be going there again. Not to mention the security guard grabbed my balls while searching me. never had that happen anywhere before, and the bald bartender with nipple piercings kept saying if he could suck my d when i was asking for a drink i kept saying no and he said no wristband no drink then.

The staff that work here are honestly not friendly, you get patted down each time you exit and re-enter but in an extremely violating way, I carry a fanny pack and they literally ripped through it. My drink was pretty strong and the drag queens are cool, but it’s 18+ so except a very young immature attitude from the crowd. The door people are honestly the worst experience and that even before you get into the club, this club should invest in metal detecting wands so I and many others don’t have to get there private areas touched.

The details of my experience are very negative. These people at the front really have the audacity to pat you down like you are going through TSA or something insane. The woman with these funky black glasses was being extreme and made lots of people uncomfortable with the way she was touching you. This is completely unacceptable and needs to stop.

Went here on January 14 2022 was told to take everything out of my pockets at the door and gladly done so only to be told to spread my legs and have my balls be grabbed by someone who thinks she’s a tsa agent searching for contraband like listen Martha if I was hiding something you would have found it when you reached into my pockets over and over grabbing my balls !!Over charged for a cover charge and charged 27 dollars for three drinks that where poorly made ! Like did you really expect someone to be okay with this absolutely not !!!

“Security” here aka wanna be TSA are extremely aggressive your job is to check ID’s move along. You have to be gay to get in. My friend was racially profiled on 2 separate occasions, Won’t be returning.

They denied me and my group of 21+ entry after assuming we were drunk (we weren’t we were just laughing at our Uber driver) and then accused me of hiding something in my vagina.If my hands were anywhere close to my vagina I’d get it?? But… they weren’t? So I’m a bit confused by the events that took place tonight. Very off putting experience, will not be returning. I guess they only want 18 year olds in attendance.

Where do I begin. Last night I went with our friends, 3 of us got our IDs checked and we got our wristbands. My other 3 friends were told to just go in, didn’t bother checking ID. The Bouncer just assumed we were all 21 due to association. Thursday nights are pretty dead, except for the one time a group of men were literally having intercourse on the dance floor. Or the time a man pulled down his pants at the bar. So moving along, as we are in the club 2 of our friends who didn’t get their wristbands we’re going to get drinks. A bouncer didn’t see that the wristband so he said “NO DRINKS” my girl asked why and explained that she was 22 and had a valid ID, handed it to him but he refused to listen because he looked stupid assuming in the first place. Tried explaining that the doorman, didn’t give them a wristband and just let them in. They are over 21 so just by checking the ID, what I’m about to say could’ve been avoided. Same bouncer grabbed one of the girls, ripping off her top, lifted her and tried to drag her out. She is 5’1, getting dragged out by 2 other bouncers. My other girl is the same stature and was also dragged out. They were rough and rumbustious. We asked for help because all of us being petite, facing off these men was very unsettling. My other friend who tried to pry these men off the girls, was also picked up and slammed outside of the door, they punched him in the head, his scalp is full of scraps. His hand blooded. All this wouldn’t have happened if EGO simply checked the IDs of my friends. The fact that they assaulted my friends was the worst experience I’ve ever had at EGO. And trust me there’s been a lot of unfortunate events that have happened here but this exceeded prior experiences. Bouncers were clearly bored, I’ve seen them fight and drag people by the hair, countless times. Never thought it was happen to us this time. Honestly throw out the whole club. They need to revamp their staff and the owner should know what goes on in this place. We won’t stay quiet, this experience will be shared everywhere. Never go to EGO.

Yeah absolutely not. this one lady in the front touched me inappropriately as she was stripping me down practically. so uncalled for. the security guards stand there and make u very uncomfortable. they should employ maybe fun hip people to work outside. these people make the turn away rate higher for themselves. they need to think about what they want to do.

This club has often given me a lot of great memories and thats why its a 3 star instead of 1. Ego has a very big issue and its the amount of people there. On June 26th I showed up at exactly 12am knowing full well that the club wouldnt let anyone else in past 1am. Not only did Security cut the line off right after me, making me think I was going in, they then told everyone outside to leave after waiting almost an hour in line. Furthermore the ventilation in that club is absolutely horrid like if I wanna go to a bathhouse for the sauna I wouldnt. I would just go here.Other then that the club is great.

Not my personal favorite place but not a bad place to go out, cover charge is $10 and it’s an over 18 place. Not super expensive drinks and they usually have a deal where some drinks are cheaper. Very crowded for the most part. They also often have scantily clad dancers for people who are into that. Their pride celebration was definitely worth it, they have a block party and outside bars for only $20.

Great music and safe vibes inside, but the people outside were rude and the pat down was inappropriate. The woman who searched me was grabby and aggressive. Felt closer to a cavity search. Not cool.

For everyone who goes to this club needs to be very careful, this past weekend my friends drink was drugged with Fentanyl ! Thank god she made it to the hospital when she did. I can’t believe people are really out here to hurt other people! Just thought everyone should know !

Music on Saturdays are always the same playlist wish sucks. They also mentioned on Saturdays its Latino night. I never had may problems with any bouncer or nobody. Bartender are amazing

The female security guard that has the hat and ponytail abuses her power. I asked a verbalQuestion as to why my friend was getting kicked and because he didn’t like the question I asked he thought that gave him the right to put his hand on me and throw me out. Security guards I understand have a job to do but there’s a limit as to how far they can go.

Ive been here once and Im straight. I just wanted to check it out. Its pricey at the door. But upstairs in the club, man....its a movie. High quality lighting, unlike any club nearby, amazing sound system, the people were really into. There standing room only on the dance floor. Great place.

Was kick out at the door for looking to straight trying to take my friend, who is a man to meet up with his boyfriend in public, for the first time. Not only that but we support everyone in that establishment.This makes me sick 🤢.

Personally, this is the worst club experience ever. Tonight was my first time and I honestly regret coming all the way from Massachusetts to Rhode Island. Awful because theres no communication with any of the bouncers/security guards, time of reentry is not consistent. This is the worst. Im sorry. Worst club experience ever.

Not for nothing but I was put off by this place because of the dancers. Today I got solicited by another one advertising themselves as a dancer at Ego. Third time its happened. Its trashy that their staff associate themselves with the club and in the meantime try to get guys to pay for sex. Not a good advertising campaign. After that today, I wouldnt go near the place as thats what I now associate it with. Control your staff!

I READ THE COMMENT BELOW ME AND I AM SO GLAD I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS NOTICED THE NEGATIVE CHANGES IN THIS PLACEBefore I describe the horrific experience here I would like to say I have been going to EGO since I was 19 years old. I am now 24 years old and never did I think I would be in such situation in which I would be writing a bad review towards this place. The changes that are being made to this bar is crippling its business. Lets begin with the staff aka THE BOUNCERS THAT CHECK YOUR ID AT THE DOOR. My best friend and I are in line waiting for our IDs to be checked. We find out that I can not get in because my ID is expired (I HAVE PREVIOUSLY USED MY EXPIRED ID THERE BEFORE MORE TIMES THAN I CAN REMEMBER AND IT HAS NEVER BEEN A PROBLEM) so then the guy that checked my ID tells me I cant get in. We explained to him that this has never been an issue, but he refuses to let us in, no big deal. I told my friend I have another form of ID that is not expired in my car and well go grab it and come back and so we did. When we came back to the line, I showed the same guy my ID and pointed to where it the date of expiration was. Once he saw it, he handed me the ID and said in a very snappy tone it wasnt unreasonable for him to ask for ID. This is where I get upset because he could have been a PROFESSIONAL and just stayed quiet and kept it moving with his job. I shrugged my shoulders and said whatever it kinda was. So I walk away from the guy and head towards the ticket booth he starts yelling and chasing after me as if he was going to do something. Then he gets in my face and starts screaming at me telling me how he doesnt have to let us in. I ignored him. We usually get in for free because the person who we thought was the owner always let us in (SINCE I WAS 19). So now this other security guard (witnessed the conversation between me and the other guy at the door) who claims to be the owner lmao notices we were on the guest list and so now he bangs on the window of the ticket booth (ALMOST HITTING MY FACE) pretty much telling us that we are no longer allowed on the guest list and that we have to pay. Money was never the issue so we paid hoping that we would enjoy our night but I honestly didnt even feel safe in there. BOTH security guards were in my personal space yelling at me over an expired ID. Even though I came back with a proper form of ID. What kind of customer service is that? Your revenue is earned from the people that go there and thats how you say thanks huh? By the time we were inside the club we decided to leave, I didnt feel safe in there because of those two guys. MY FRIENDS AND I WILL NEVER GO TO EGO AGAIN. VERY VIOLENT AND UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF AND THERE IS A HUGE LACK IN CUSTOMER SERVICE.

One thing about Ego they will not let underage people slide in and if you are high or drunk very safe and always have a great time drinks are great and the prices are very fair they can throw a party get there early!

Apparently you have to “look gay” in order to enter Ego. My friends and I tried going to ego tonight, unfortunately we were stopped by a employee that informed us that since they had never seen us before (not my first time here btw) we weren’t going to be able to go in because their clientele is “ no longer getting laid after the club because too many straight men”

Watched security guards attack a group of females at the block party last weekend during closing time (they were outside of the gates leaving), majority being large men and a woman threatening pepper spray. Also inside was disgusting, unsanitary and stunk. Not a club id recommend

Love the atmosphere...well made drinks, good music, fun drag shows. Good place to go to for Providence Gay Pride weekend..also have a kick-ass block party after night parade and great time for NEW Years if you are sticking around.

The white security guard pretty sure I remember her name being amanda. she always has the hat on with a pony tail. kept saying the n word. when I asked her to stop using that word she has no right to say she ignored me and continued making my friend uncomfortable. hope she gets fired.

It definitely has a good atmosphere. People are very energetic, having fun, and just having a blast dancing to their own beat. Although, I do have to say that I wish there was a little bit more diversity in the music. A slight problem that I notice is that the DJ overplays so many of the same songs that it gets very predictable. There used to be Latin Sunday’s but not anymore. The fact that they only play Latin music on Fridays kind of defeats the purpose of the club trying to more “diverse” in order to bring in more clients. Try to play more Latin music on Saturdays in replacing of the one on Sunday. People will likely come more if there’s a good mix of different music genre.

Don’t come here! This place is TRASH as well as the staff outside.Door lady was a mess and was wicked rude you check ids it’s not that serious. So thank you next on to gay bars that provide a positive experience.

I’ve been to a good amount of 18+ clubs and this one has always been empty, unwelcoming, and over expensive for no reason. Definitely a miss!

If you do not get there before 1am, you will not be allowed in. They close at 3am but the oridance says they cannot allow people in after 1am. Not even to use the bathroom. 💁🏾‍♀️

IF YOU ARE MILITARY...Got pushed out of an event on Friday with a crowd. We waited for the crowd to thin so we could go back to close are tab to retrieve are NAVY FEDERAL card. They where very rude and told us it was locked in a safe and had to drive back to the establishment another day to get itSo as soon as we could we returned to retrieve it and called them to bring it to the door... The manager looked in quite a few places and we clearly could hear cabinets and drawers opening and closing... We where told the card could not be found ( obviously we where lied to about it being locked in a safe being the reason they couldnt give it to us when we where at the open door when they where bring stuff in from outside)We told the manager one more time they said they put it in a safe on Friday and that was why we couldnt get it back when they where closing up. His response was I cant give you what I dont haveMy fallow up was can you find out the person who was working the front bar on the right side guy with the blond hair long under cut with the beard and ask him what he may have done with the NAVY FEDERAL CARD. And he got short and told me no.He then decide to tell me that I probably had the card the hole time( just to mention they closed the tab and processed it three days later from when we where there AND everyones card in the group of 5 had processed and cleared (all Navy Federal too) on Saturday the following day but are card got processed Monday and hes trying to tell me that I am confused and took it home with us)😑Because we definitely wanted to drive over an hour for no reason after being turned around at the door that night after being told they locked it in a safeThere definitely dose not seem to be any kind of set procedure guidelines for there employees to fallow.* If you go there dont let them hold your card sign after your purchases.* Your card will disappear after getting a locked notification for a failed purchase attempt (when your card is locked in a safe)*Management dose not fallow up or consult its employees with your concerns😒THANK YOU FOR YOUR RESPECT & FOR SUPPORTING YOUR ACTIVE DUTY TROOPS😒....( SEVERE SARCASM IMPLIED)

Strong Drinks, Excellent Music, incredibly friendly and helpful Staff. When a friend got wasted they were there to help us in every way we needed! Just a great experience.

Incompetent chimps decided to keep my card due to it being 10 minutes past closing, and then lost it 2 days later. I had an attempted withdrawal that got declined. Watch your possessions around the staff. Drinks are passable, but expensive.

I tried to tip the bouncer and he accused me of saying that he was “homeless” and started cussing me out??? Staff is probably the rudest bar/club staff I have ever interacted with

So my bartender messed up somehow and only ended up charging me for only one of my three drinks so I left a tip it was busy and I kinda just wanted to get out of there and I check my account today and saw that they ended up taking more than the two drinks she ended up missing so they basically ended up taking an extra 25.92 without even reaching out to me

Thursdays no cover and 18+ for the drag show, its a great place drinks arent that expensive and everyone is always so nice and its got an amazing atmosphere.

Wish I could give this place zero stars. The door guys are VERY aggressive. If youre that jaded, you shouldnt be in your current profession. Stop treating people like theyre trash bags just because your existence is meaningless. Its not my fault your skills only qualify you to work as an ID checker.

Would love to review this place but they didnt even let me and my friends in. I had my heart set on dancing here - was so looking forward to it- but they refused to let us in. So unfortunately I have to give them 1-star review. :-(

Mostly an under 30 crowd. But always fun to be in a queer safe place.

The place was overcrowded there wasn’t even any spot to take a breather it was that crowded, the short female staff member is extremely rude, my 20 yr old friend had an ice cup in her hand because of how hot it was and they accused her of drinking(she was not) and physically dragged her out and left bruises all up and down her arm

Guys don’t go to this place, I used to work there and trust me it’s not a good place!

I was super drunk and lost my friends and had no phone and they helped me find my wallet to figure out my address got me an uber and literally one of the lady bartenders gave me the jacket off her back I love this place so much miss it here!

Fun bar, pretty reasonable prices, they have a little outdoor patio / bar space that’s pretty cool.

It’s like a fitness center fully of sweaty funky people in there,however, the drink is amazing, people having a good and bad times.

Bald manger is a hof loser, definitely enjoys watching his gf get railed by other dudes.

They Do NOT allow bisexuality in this club. I was dancing with a guy for abt 30 mins and the second I swapped to a girl I was immediately kicked out.

I love it and all the employees have been very nice to me. They have a new client so I will continue visiting and I always go alone and I have a great time so far. I love it.
