Nice rooftop, music was great. The owner is really nice. However one of the bartenders was pretty rude and aggressive.. Also ordered a Margarita, a beer, and a water on the rooftop bar. My bill ended up being $36. The bartender decided to tip herself extra and when I looked at my bank statement, she charged me $45. If you go to this bar, bring cash.

I was there this past Saturday for a birthday celebration and let me tell you I had the BEST time. Not only do they have the option of 2 floors depending on the vibes you’re looking for, the environment is so welcoming and vibrant. P La Cangri was making that place BOUNCE, she had the best tunes playing. I danced the whole night. Highly recommend coming to party here!!!

I dont understand the need to bring alcoholics, who arent even DJs, to perform at the bar. The guy smelled, his music was bad, and all he did was shout How are you tonight, New York? Its unbelievable how people respond by calling him a talented individual and insisting he wasnt under the influence. HES AN ADDICT AND HES NOT PURSUING ANY DREAM. And yes, he was drunk; hes always drunk because hes AN ALCOHOLIC. Admit your mistake and dont do this again, or your bar will broke.

Staff was very friendly and food was pretty good. Giving two stars because of the captain DJ on Wednesday. He kept filming the crowd and yelling “how we feeling New York?”. This happened multiple times. He would pull out his phone and record him pressing the airhorn while panning up to our reactions. While he wasn’t yelling or airhorning, he would be visibly tweaking, twitching, and talking to himself. There was quite a perimeter around the DJ stand that no one would go near because of the smell coming from that area. I’m assuming it was from the brown discolored captains hat and stains on his shirt. He was drunk the whole time and I thought staff weren’t supposed to drink. Save your money because it looks like this place is just getting entertainment from armpits like brownsville.

Staff was excellent, music on all levels was on point, bartenders was great, very diverse. I would definitely come again!

Boy oh boy where do I even begin holy Guacomle it was so lit this guy with a captains hat was going crazy on the dj set I think he said his name was dj shakes or something idk but it was the biggest party I’ve ever seen it shut down the city it was on the news what a crazy night I highly recommend this place 1000/10 best place ever

Not a bad spot the drinks were decent and the bartenders were polite the party goers were lively and entertaining to watch everyone seem to be having a good time and all just vibing to the dj who played latin,hip hop , and old school the spot is small and gets packed pretty fast would visit again

Went here with my dad and friend for his bday Friday night and it didn’t disappoint- the drinks were on point and the music was litt - it was a full house- good vibes & energy def the place if u lookin for a good time .

Went for fun and service was ok but the DJ wasn’t very good had a very bad stench coming from him most likely cause of his stained hat and shirt kinda expensive 8$ for Brussels sprouts is crazy.

This is something everyone should do wen they go out anywhere spending cash I take and put unique mark on my money so wen they try to play I also have my camera recording me handing the money to the bartender and i also say ok how much wen they tell me i say ok den i say ima pay with a $20 $10 $50 or whatever so wen they try that you didnt give me the amount you know u did i say ok watch this i actually got a bartender fired on the spot well he got himself fired i bought a $20 drink payed with a $100 he gave me back $30 saying I payed with a$50 I was slightly toxicated and he knew that so he tried to pull a fast one. He starting to yell saying security he is be disorderly and drunk as we argue security ask me to leave or he will throw me the manager came ova and said to me ima call the cops dont ever come back called me a few nasty names hole club is looking now music got turned down as it always does wen there is a altercation I should the manger the video his jaw dropped he was so embarrassed he told the bartender your fired and leave now and gave me my $100 back n said the drinks on him my thing is after that he said someone said he did it before i said so u must not have cared cus u should have handled the first time he said ya right i know it may seem like alot but being jiped at bars is on the rise so take that extra measure to ensure it wont be u o work for. My money sad I gotta do all that but thieves are are protect yo cash baby

This was a bangin asz cluc experience. I came here to NY from LA and I always wanted to know what the club life was like here and Bar 13 didn’t disappoint not one bit!!! Afro beats, Amapiano, house, reggae, hip hop, old school jams bomb asz atmosphere beautiful people no hassle joint all the way through!!! Dj P came through like a musical Alchemist with the smoothest mixes!!! Made me stay on the floor the entire time!!! Definitely going back and spreading the word! Bar 13 ❤️✊🏿🪩👑✨🙏🏾✨

Came from Baltimore and I was looking for a vibe. DJ P La Cangri spun the beats all night and made our entire evening super memorable!!! Definitely come check her out!.

Been to two nights out here. My issue is the top floor has a weird layout and it’s hard to dance when the dance floor is tiny and there are sections staring at you. The rooftop is nice but the heat lamps do not work.

It was...ok. Maybe Im spoiled having experienced the Latin Club scene of the 90s, but I expected much, much more. The DJ and host announcer were great, but the bouncers were rude and almost looking for fights (one practically threatened me because I couldnt hear him behind me despite the loud music and the fact that well - its a freaking club), and the bar was overpriced and amature - any drink that required more than 2 ingredients (like rum + coke or gin + juice) was a disaster. The crowd - A few tourists looking for authentic latin experience (aka latin lovebois), but the crowd was mostly pretty chill. No salsa show offs or instagram divas etc. Overall, you can have a good time if are there to enjoy the music, and keep your expectations low.

Bar 13 has been a favorite of mines for years. I love the different rooms of music and the rooftop. ...theres even parking around the area sometimes!

DJ was weird he kept saying something about a band on tinder and he was making me feel uncomfortable and wouldnt leave me alone

I went to dance tonight on January 13, 2017. When I first ordered the drinks I was told the drinks would be $14 apiece however when I was paying around 1015 they charged me $36. I know I know its only eight dollars however its the principle behind a business practice and its a business owner this is unethical. The bartenders who lose their tip and the organization gets this review do not rip off your customers.

The music by DJ P La Canari is amazing. Would recommend coming here 10/10. DJ know the vibes. All night dancing.

Worst experience ever!! Drinks tasted watered down, music was off, was told hookah will comes in at 8. Hookah never came by and was being mislead by all employees at location!! Waste of time and money 💰 never again!!!

On Sept 9 I entered bar13 at 10:58pm and was judged by the bouncers around shortly before 2am, my friends were even waiting outside at that time to come in to celebrate my Bday with me, I was told that I was complained against when I didnt interact or touch anyone, even my friends were all confused and know me never to disrespect anyone, the bouncer couldnt even tell me what the complaint was about or who complained, all I was doing was talking to my friends the whole night and dancing a bit, I guess the bouncer wanted a tip. I TotallyFeel disrespected as this has never happened to me in 40 years of lounges and clubs, all I got was compliments and love from everyone at other places . Looks like they did not like something about me. We left instantly to go to another place were we had a blast until it was closed. Too bad because I use to throw house parties in there with my dj and crew all the time back in the day and wanted to see how it was now, to further enjoy it with friends in the upcoming years, but now me and my friends will never never go back or recommend Bar 13 to anyone, because they trust my opinions.

Terrible DJ & false advertisement. I was here for the House music & Amapiano music… He played a few songs & the rest was latin & Hip hop! If you are going to advertise one genre of music then PLAY IT! There is a whole other section for Latin music in another section you do not have to play it here… STOP TRYING TO CAPITALIZE off of a culture of music just to get money but do not play the music…. Shameful. Another alternative would be to hire Dj’s who KNOW THE MUSIC and mix well.

Good happy hour specials. Nice rooftop vibes for the summertime. Only problem I have is that the frozen margarita aren’t really that strong and something always wrong with the machine. With that I stick to my shots or well drinks

The bar is small not big. I never been here before but I know for sore it not a place to go for SantaCon. Please dont get tickets to this place for SantaCon next year, maybe go here for a one on one and talk about why your relationship not working out cause the music also no good.

Stephanie and Christina the Bartenders really make the place. BAR 13 has been around for eons. 3 floors. Main, 2nd and terrace. They close terrace at 1am. There are different parties every night. Find your music and go with friends. The crowd is always a good mix. The drinks are very well priced for Manhattan. Maybe because it is a college area. #notcomplaining 🤷‍♀️

Now I don’t usually do reviews but yeah here it is. Beware of how much you drink and cautious of your money. Gave the bartender a crumbled $20 bill, I always crinkle my bills when I go out because of this reason. Bought a $7 juice he gave $3 back. I’m like where my change, he kept telling me I gave him $10. I told him show me the bill I gave he proceeds to pulls out a crispy straight $10 bill. I’m like that’s not my bill it’s the $20 you moved to the side but give me that $10 bill. Came from outta state place was pretty small and honestly was only fun because WE MADE IT FUN and of course the DJ. But play with somebody else cause I wasn’t that drunk with them water down, more juice then liquor a** drinks

Bar 13 is one of my favorite bars to go to , staff is always helpful and great . Especially Jess and Stephanie . Music is great and an awesome place to go dancing . 3 floors and different music I definitely recommend for Aaron amazing night out .

They require all hats to be off before entrance. Like its early 2000s. This spot sucks!!!! Additionally, the bouncers are unprofessional.

Really nice place. Guards are top notch especially the one named DJ. I remember being there on numerous occasions and hes broke up fights with such grace. While the other guards stood around. Hes always so respectful. I look forward to seeing him whenever I show up. I know I have nothing to worry about. Cant wait for it to get warmer so I can enjoy the rooftop!!

They have a fantastic happy hour drink and food menu, great place to unwind and enjoy a drink, Mo the bartender is a delight and welcome you with open arms and a drink of course!!!

I found this place on a whim with friends. Pros: It was free the night I attended. There is a rooftop and inside dance area. They have hooka and no reservation is needed. Cons: this place gets so crowded its not enjoyable people are so crammed in you cant dance. The drinks were very small and it made no sense to try to walk to the bar in the crowd. Seating is very limited, tables are very small and everyone sits their drink on them so dont put yours down. The music was good (reggae night) but they didnt play much new music.

Didnt get to see the rooftop due to rain but its a nice spot to go to. Only thing bad Id say is the uneven stairs. The security guards do a good thing of warning you !. I would go back. I also didnt eat here so I wouldnt rate the food.

This is far one of my worst experiences and I never complain but had to leave a review because of false advertising found online I feel it was misleading it listed there would be an event with a DJ on the rooftop during happy hour (5pm til 9pm) showed up only to find there was nobody there no DJ no NOTHING there was only 2 bartenders and 1 server on the middle level I felt like I came all the way there for nothing me and my friend bought stuff anyway and nobody barely showed up smfh we even asked if the bartenders were aware of the flyer posting and they had no knowledge of it what a Scam it’s misleading just tell people to come at 9 plain and simple and the rooftop really isn’t all that I was really disappointed the Worse me I just had to make the best of it then we left to go home never again

Honestly, horrible. The food is meh. The drinks are somehow super strong and watery at the same time. The ambiance is dusty. The only reason why it got any stars at all is because the bartender on the rooftop was a sweetheart. Definitely not going back.

Had a great time, lots of dancing, $20 to get in. the three different floors were cool cuz you can choose which vibe you want! They were playing a mix of songs for a while. we went on their spanish music night so it switched to Spanish, all kinds of people we’re having fun dancing

There is a cover charge of $20- to get in. Its too crowded. Theres No dress code. There were people there that look like they got out of bed, and went straight to the Club without being dressed, looking bummy. On the first floor, the dance floor was super hot and crowded. The second floor had ac, but the music wasnt that good, and the roof top didnt have any music. Ten minutes later, we left this Club. Its like a scam, because they talk so nice about it, until you go inside, then you realize its not worth it.

Bought a private booth & bottle service in July for about 6-8 people. The place has 3 floors and they claim each had a different vibe/music but they were all the same - the music was enjoyable enough so that wasnt an issue. The issue was we were told our bottles would remain safe if we were to leave and check out the other floors. After finishing half our liquor, we took them up on that offer only to return to an empty table. We asked the bartenders for our bottles back, waited 20 minutes.. asked again.. waited.. then left. Whether the misinformation was intentional or not, our night was cut short because we followed the advice of the staff. We spoke with a manager who hung up on us after requesting a refund the next day, eventually giving us a bit less than half our money back. If it werent for this, we wouldve had a great time! The verdict, not a bad club, but be wary!

Used to come here to party when I was fresh out of college. Nice setup with three floors, including a rooftop. Each floor has its own DJ, dancefloor, and bar. Not sure what drink prices are since we had an open bar package (for well drinks).They also have a bunch of hookah salesman floating around (at least they did during their NYE 2022 party). Music was mostly Latin with some EDM mixed in.

Drinks werent ridiculously expensive, bartenders and bouncer was really nice and answered all my questions patiently. Was my first time going, but definitely coming back with friends! I went on a Thursday and there were about 5-10 people on both the main floor and the roof so at first I thought the place wasnt worth it, but the music is really good and so is everything else! Theres also a pizza spot right across the street thats open late. Highly recommend!

I recently held an event for my company here and was met with friendly, professional and attentive staff. The ambiance was amazing and perfect for any event, a true New York staple. It’s urban stairwell leads to a chic, spacious and beautiful rooftop. The music is as perfect and catered to everyone’s taste. I highly recommend this venue and will be doing business with them again in the near future. Thank you Bar13!

Trash! This place is ran by scammers. Went for a Halloween event and we were packed in there like sardines. If the fire marshals would of came they would of shut it down. The stairs were packed no one could walk. As we were leaving the bouncers were accepting pocket money to allow ppl in on the side to go straight upstairs. Unbeknownst to them they were being scammed because it was all the same!I am surprised no one got hurt.I will never ever attend this location again.

Music was okay, young crowd unfortunately everyone was on their cell phone no one was dancing… Young audience seemed to be more focused on alcohol, hookahs I guess that’s their way of enjoying themselves

It was okay. The roof top was nice, theres a place to sit. The staff was attentive. There were hookas and a bar upstairs and downstairs. The bartender is very knowledgeable.

This is a place that bait and switches. Arrived with my eventbright tickets before 11 when the their ad said entrance was free on Friday Dec. 23rd. When we arrived, bouncer claimed it was $15 per person for cover. Dont waste your time.

Went on a Friday night so Dress Code is no graphic t shirts so make sure you come correct. They have security and door person so night I went around 9pm there wasnt a cover then again Im a woman. They told my guy friend that there was a private party going on when in fact the issue was dresscode a simple fix. I get it but why lie to deter certain people from getting in. As an establishment I get you have the right to deter or refuse anyone from entering I worked in nightlife myself. Its a multilevel club with a bar and different music so I headed on rooftop Drinks were great had 2 frozen margaritas ($30) music was cool it got crowded mixed crowd and diverse. Not a bad experience a hidden gem nonetheless.

Vibe was good different levels of entertainment.. did not go to the rooftop. Doesnt seem like an upscale place but I was only there one time and can not say to much until I have a full experience. I can say to try it if you are in the area

This place lacks integrity, I came here with a group of about 10. Things went ok, its a bar I celebrated and had too much to drink. I left my sweater. I contacted this place several times to inquire if someone turned in my sweater. I was told to keep calling back and back and back until they just stopped answering my calls. So when you go to the place, please pay attention to your belongings, dont expect integrity.

My experience at Bar 13 tonight was absolutely amazing. Eddie made sure that everything was set up beautifully. From the food to the music, to the complete ambience and vibe. Tonight was a very special night for my coworkers as and I, as we wished our Dear friend on to a new and brighter future. Tonight was truly memorable, and I am grateful to have been able to conduct out event at Bar 13!

Came here after a literal fifteen minute excursion at another lounge that could have been great if it hadnt been gearing up for an event. Had low hopes for the night but the moment we walked in it was like a breath of life. Amazing DJ, amazing staff, i didnt even mind the fact that we got there early because the tunes were perfect. Coat check was a like 3$ per coat but Im willing to let that slide because of everything else. 10/10 coming back here again in the near future. Love this place!!

Good after work spot especially the rooftop bar in the summer. I used to go here years ago for the Thursday night parties but then I got a bit older and the younger crowd didnt really appeal to me that much. I recently went back with a friend for Happy hour on the roof. The crowd was great the cocktails were reasonably priced(cash only on the roof) and the ambiance was chilled and relaxing. We also check out downstairs they have definitely done some renovations and it seems decent Im going to have to check out a Thursday or Saturday night there soon.

Went to check it out on a Sunday free before 12, but as always, it was too early. The rooftop Is cute, but chairs were wet too due to rain. Sundays are lit.

I went with a buddy of mine during their happy hour. Its a nice looking place. Very spacious with sufficient seating. Those are the pros. The cons, for me, were the $25 minimum on payments made with a card. I dont go to bars that often, so perhaps this is standard but Im unaware. Personally I felt that to be unreasonably high. Also, I didnt appreciate our bartender just assuming that when I paid, I was paying for both myself and my buddy. Thats something that you confirm with someone, you dont assume it.

Great place, I had fun on may 5th. Good drinks and lots of good music. Theres no food but if you like to dance, the night I was fun. Id give 4 stars because the person dj-ing needed work on the music translationing lol, but I cant denie the music choices were not bad. The place and the bouncers were really cool. Oh and the hookah was nice🤩

Nice spot located in the union square area. Ladies if you are wearing heels or a short dress. I would think about wearing pants due to the fact that you have to take the stairs up to the floors.I had a couple issues with Bar 13, first they checked our ids but never searched us or looked in my purse, secondly after we sat down and got situated a guy who works there came to us and told us that theres a $10 fee for men. They should have given us a pass since no one mentioned that at the door and plus there wasnt anyone at the door to collect money. My second issue is that they allow people to smoke all sorts of paraphernalia inside. That dampened my mood, my eyes were burning, I was getting sleepy, I couldnt wait to leave and get some fresh air. My third issue, cash only at the bar on Sundays.The djs played well. There were a lot of older gentlemen there who thought they were in their 20s dressing like them with their pants hanging down with the baggy clothing and long chains hanging from their necks. People were dressed in their every day entire so theres really no effort being put into their clothing to come out to Bar 13.It will be a while before I return to Bar 13, over all it was cool to just go out and shake a leg.

Really fun place to go out because there’s different music on every floor, but be warned they’re expensive! Hookah is $40 for regular and two shots of Casamigos will run you $35. I definitely recommend going, but if you’re a drinker definitely pre-game (responsibly) beforehand!

Great over all. Have 3levels of dance and music. 1st level has free salsa secession, 2nd level has r&b and theres the rooftop. Wonderful vibes, great Atmosphere and nice area. A little pricey but loved it.

I love this place it has two floors. I havent been to the third floor because I think it only opens in the spring or summer.

I went with my coworkers to celebrate a colleague who was leaving. Drinks were at a decent price. Atmosphere was good. Staff was OK, a little bit of pushback to get a band for easier movement across all dance floors. Still, Id go back there again. Recommended.

Fun time, great bartenders, good musics, mixed crowed young and old. Great spot to go dance and let loose, prices are reasonable, ladies get there before 11pm.Could do without the hookah, would prefer not to breathe in smoke, it’s 2020 everyone knows second hand smokes is a risk with hookah also right ?

I had a great time because of the awesome girl group I was with. The spot is super cute with a nice grown and sexy rooftop.I would have given this place more stars but the CC machine didnt work until after happy hour was over and they couldnt serve food because of technical difficulties with the kitchen.The staff was nice and they gave batchata and salsa lessons on one floor. The Djs were rocking too. It would have been great if the rooftop had a bartender working.Cool spot but I would definitely call ahead of time just to make sure the stove and CC machine is working.

Sunday is the best night for me, Reggae night. Theres great music, and the drinks arent bad. I always have a fun time, also if your a smoker, theres is an out door roof top area, that will meet all your needs.

Sundays is reggae night. No dress code, cover charge is $20 for guys $10 for ladies. Id recommend if u like reggae/dancehall music. A.C not the best on second floor, third floor is a rooftop if you want to cool down. Bar on first floor is no cover. Enjoy.

I really enjoyed the vibes from this place especially the roof top.Very airy and the music wasnt necessarily overwhelming.

Came for the lobster festival event. The event started at 2, the food ran out within an hour and half which we didn’t even get any food (we got there about 3, and waited in the line, by the time we got up it’s already 3:30). Overall you can just tell the event is a scam, some people paid $15 for the ticket and some pay $25 or even more (heard people paid $40 something for this). I understand it is first come first serve, but they sold like 700 tickets which the food portion is definitely not even enough for 300 people (the food plate size was only about 3-4 inches radius which is barley any food on top). If you planned on going, “do not” go there. Place is disappointed and drinks are terrible.

DJ - even if its someones birthday, you dont have to play a birthday song every three songs.Cool space with three levels. Drinks could be better, bartenders could be friendlier and it could definitely be cleaner.

I encounter Mr. Fuller two weeks ago on my trip to New York. He was an amazing Security Guard. He helped make feel safe and secure provided things for us to do while we wait for the private party clear out and he showed love and hospitality definitely need more people like him.

If you want to be exposed to covid and all its cousins, this is the place! No one was wearing a mask, the Spanish floor was extremely packed and I dont recall seeing the bartenders with masks!! Needless, to say I got sick a few days after going here. Its a shame because the music was really good here, they just need to practice better safety protocols.

We prearranged table service here with one of their VIP packages. The bouncer accosted us while trying to enter, apparently he didnt believe that we purchased their VIP package even though we had their wristbands that said VIP on them (he acknowledged that they were their wristbands but said they were only good for general admission. We had to settle this dispute with one of his co-workers, he stormed off after a minute). We eventually got seated, only to have to switch tables after an hour because we were placed at the wrong table (even though the first table had our name on it). Nobody showed up to claim our old table, so there was no conflict. When we were finally served after this, the vodka and champagne we were given was cheap. Other table service patrons were waiting longer than we were. The staff looked very disorganized. The club overall looked like it needed to be renovated. Given its located in NYC you can definitely find a better establishment elsewhere.

Paid plenty of money for a private group event which was supposed to be 4 hours long and allow access to a floor and a rooftop with open bar. We weren’t allowed on the rooftop for 2 and a half hours and the bar on our floor closed the bar at 2 hours in, so no one could have drinks for a half hour (BARTENDERS WOULDNT EVEN GIVE US WATER). Finally they let us upstairs and there was a cash bar even though we paid for open bar. After about 15 minutes, we decided to leave because they started allowing other people to come in to our private event. Strongly advise against coming here.

Bar 13 isn’t a bad place to go. Around 10pm I went to their salsa section, and it was free for ladies. You have to pay after 12AM for ladies. The salsa section was super fun, and then me and my friend went to their hip hop section around 12AM, and we each had to pay $20 to get in. The hip hop section was not lit in the beginning, and then as the night progressed it was very fun. The drinks are a bit expensive. I bought one drink, and paid $30, and that’s including a $5 tip. So, you will have a good time, just the drink prices are a little ridiculous

I came here on the NYC Whiskey walk. I loved that there was lots of room to dance and the bar service was fast. The music was great, too.. I think I danced to 3 songs in a row. It was a lot of fun.I look forward to coming back another night to dance!

Bar 13 was nice and cozy the only thing I must say is that the DJ didnt play any songs that I know so I really couldnt vibe. But the establishment was very clean and the drinks were approximately priced

I went to Bar 13 for New Years, I paid for what was supposed to be VIP tickets. When I arrived people were sitting in my area. My spot was not even reserved. I was forced to pay gratuity for two bottles of cheap champagne which was supposed to be complimentary. I couldnt even move around because it was so crowded. Other guest were fighting in my area, which was supposed to be private. When I tried to speak to management, they were very dismissive and acted as if I didnt matter. I did not get my monies worth. I could have paid the general price and had the same experience. $423 for a second rate experience. Never again.

Came here during the week and its quiet. has 2 floors, one indoors which has a nice dance floor, low lights and a bar, credit card minimum is $25. 3rd floor is rooftop, no nice views, but ok, music plays, small couches to sit, bar which is cash only. Try the weekend, probably more fun.

3 levels of music. They serve bar food. Always smell your food for freshness when served in the dark. Im just saying.Rooftop is very cool.

3 floors of different themes. Door men are generally nice, staff is a mix of nice and indifferent.Pro tip: One of the few outdoor spaces around Union Square. Just head to the very top and enjoy an open roof deck. Quieter and more sensible.

Do not get table service here. So not worth it unless you will have 20+ ppl in your party drinking. This place needs a make over, desperately. The music was ok but no one to dance with. Upstairs was hip/hop r&b again good music just empty. They need to do a better job of promoting.

First time and last time for this spot. Poor bartender got over charge a drink. No price show anymore. Not helpful with manager. Terrible bar. We can spend the money with good drink but not for this place. Not recommend.

Present your identification and you are respectfully invited to enter, absolutely no pretenciousness.The space is comprised of three distinctive levels, but my Sunday evening visit was concentrated within the second level, where the reggae party occurs every Sunday evening.Imagine for a moment the best reggae basement party you had ever attended. The space is well illuminated with dimmed light emitting diodes and the furnishing is set far to the side walls, permitting dancers full access to the dance space. There is a pleasant red hue hovering above the entire space that is being generated by a well positioned light bar in the centre of the dance floor.The reggae dancers patronizing the space are compelled to sway and gyrate to the rhythm and tempo of the deep bass that rattles within their bodies.I was no exception; as soon as I had entered the third floor I was captivated by reggae music being meticulously spun and broadcast by a very proficient reggae disc jockey.The atmosphere is certainly deliberately designed for those more interested in dancing than in observing the interior design of the space. The stairwells leading to the different floors are narrow, which demand sensible flat shoes to all of the women who feel the need to wear high heels.The alcohol being served is moderately priced, but charging four dollars for a bottle of water was quite excessive, indeed.I vehemently encourage all genuine reggae music lovers to attend this nostalgic Sunday evening party; this event pays tribute to a time when the music being played with the club was far more important than the interior design.In conclusion, if you do enjoy dancing to reggae music (Rocksteady, Early Reggae, Roots, Dub, Rockers and Dancehall) please venture to Sunday evenings at Bar 13.I shall post photographs subsequent to my next visit on Sunday, July 15, 2018👊

Went to the bar on a Saturday night. Expensive to get in (Men $10 Women $5) given that its completely empty and dead inside.... And by dead I mean all the old people sitting inside. It felt like retirement party. The music was OKAY, but the drinks are overpriced. Not to mention, they have CANs of beer ($6) almost felt like I was at a tailgate party. This place is horrible. Dont waste your time.

My friend purchased a Groupon for this place, Two free drinks. I said, Hey, not a bad way to start off Halloween night! We got to the bar pretty early, about 5:45pm. After being frisked and man handled at the door, we went up to a small, mostly empty bar, again we were pretty early. The place lacked seating, so Im sure it wouldve been a better dance floor for the Halloween party. I told my friend we could probably just get our free drinks and chill for a while.Two other couples went up to claim their Groupon as well, when all of the bartenders stated, The online promotion was a mistake. It was supposed to say, Buy one, get one free. I then saw the small dixie cups they were using to serve the drinks. Im not bothered by the plastic ware, since its better to drop a plastic cup on the ground during a big party. Im bothered by the portion size.We left.So I highly doubt the owners will see this review, but Id just like to state that not only do I deal with client relations at my current job, but Im also speaking as a former bartender. I know its stressful to manage a bar at a populated area of the city, let alone on a holiday. My friend and I arrived pretty early, as well as a small hand full of people. This early in the party and when things were this calm; I wouldve owned up to my mistake and honored the Two free drink promotion. Its not worth having disgruntled guests who are now going to not give you business, but also post negative reviews. Since your bar stated that the mistake was your fault, its not difficult for us to get a refund. My friend and I wouldve purchased more drinks and started to have a good time. Your bartenders also lost potential tip, even if the first two drinks had been free. Especially since this happened on a holiday, your bar certainly wasnt a great way to start it off. Id also like to mention that from the doormen, to bartenders, to other staff; no one looked like they were having fun or looking forward to taking care of their guests.Our night started to get better, when we left. Unless the manager would like to resolve this situation, I cannot recommend this bar to anyone.

Have not come here in a long time but the last time I was here and the times before that, the place was packed and the party was poppin with awesome music. Normal drink prices like at any NYC bar on the LES, but lots of young people and lots of good vibes, definitely need to make a trip back soon.

Pretty great music and strong drinks but weird dress code policy. They have a casual dress code with no sweats etc which is fine but then wouldnt let my friend come up with nice boots and then couldnt tell me exactly what was wrong with his outfit. He just kept saying we got a dress code. Meanwhile upstairs everybody rocking Jordans.

One of my favorite bars/clubs to go to. I always have fun there. They have multiple levels and a rooftop. Perfect for private events.

I forgot my ID and looked online to see what time it opened up. 7 days a week, from 3pm-4am. With that info I went during the hours only to find out that Bar 13 was closed. I waited for about a hour until 8pm and it was still closed. It was stated that they had an event at 10pm that same evening. I found that to be odd.DJs was cool, a lot of Spanish music and hip-hop on the top floor.

My friend and I came here yesterday for this rooftop crab crawl event thing. It was our first time here. But it was so crowded that we had to leave afterwards. The food was just okay except that the crab legs were cold. My friend got sick from it. Generally, I think this bar isn’t all that. We are never coming back here ever again.

Money hungry! This venue started out great until they continued to pile in customers regardless of space. Expensive VIP tickets were sold for NYE however no VIP experience was offered. They crammed the people in so much so that was unsafe, you couldn’t move to go to the toilet or a drink at the ‘open’ bar. People were pushing, shoving and fights began to start.I would strongly never recommend this venue to anyone. Their greed ruined the night for all that ventured into this revolting establishment!

Being super Generous with this one star. I want to a crab fest event the food was gone one hour after the doors were open. they started charging for drinks. I did not pay $20 to get in this small place venue. I will never go back to bar 13 and Im sad to say I will never support this black business again.

Great place to go int he happy hour or for an event. the wines are only $5 and they have a lot of beer and drinks options. The rooftop is the best place to hang out, but also they have a party style in the indoors bar.

Went there for the NYE party as a VIP ($140,00 or so). Didnt stay for 20 minutes, so, in other words, I lost that money. Overcrowded. Huge line outside even for VIPs. No good sense of maximum capacity. Impossible to move inside, so imagine to get a drink from one of the 2 bars (now I understand the open bar thing). Dont even consider this place for a NYE. If you are crazy enough, pay the cheapest ticket, there are not differences between the VIP and the regular regarding access or special place inside.Now Im on the streets waiting to spend NYE at any other place, which will be better in any way.Just dont.

Have been here so many times, haha. While it has 3 floors (the 2nd, the 3rd, and the rooftop), I give it 3 stars for the sound system. Its usually missing some type of bass, is sometimes crackly, and is overall way too loud for the spot (it is designed more like a lounge). Also, the floors are bit bubbled underneath, like too many drinks have been spilled and it seeped underneath. It almost feels like you may fall through to the ground floor lol.If you can get over the floor and the sound system (with enough drinks in your system haha) you can dance on the dancefloor all night long - on the 2nd OR 3rd floors (sometimes the 3rd floor is closed, sometimes its used for Latin night or the like). The 2nd floor is mostly top 40 or Hip Hop, but sometimes I get tired of hearing the same songs.Many NYU kids party here, given the proximity, but its not a pretentious spot at all. Its got a pretty cheap cover charge, great for college students, haha. The rooftop has nice seating so if its not crowded yet its a great place to sit and chat.This was basically my go-to spot if I - 1. Didnt want to travel to the farthest parts of Manhattan to party (close proximity to Union Square and all of its trains) 2. Didnt want to spend a huge amount of bucks to get in someplace else, or 3. Was looking for a more casual spot to catch up with friends or dance for the night.Bonus: Theres a halal cart down on the corner late at night, if youre stumbling out of here drunk and hungry, lol.

The rooftop lounge is pretty good for warmer nights, but Ive never been able to spend much time in the indoor bar area, which is dark and loud and crowded (not in a good way). Its a decent spot to know about in the Union Square area for a reasonably-priced drink, but not one Id go out of my way to frequent.

Great place because it has 3 or 4 levels where you can almost get lost. Every floor has different kind of music playing so you can move from one floor to the next if you are not feeling the beats. Theres also an outside area on the roof, great for summer nights. Make sure you go there on weekends when its crowded cuz the place attracts many creeps during weeknights.

Place was horrible. coat check took forever and they crammed everyone into a tight space. open bar was supposed to start at 8:00, I did not get in the venue until 8:30 because of lines and the coat line was another 30 minutes.The place was so crowded and the floor on the outdoor bar was flooded. my shoes are wrecked now. the coat check at the end of the night was also so slow, took me an hour to get my coat.Dont understand how a place can be run this poorly, will not be returning

Came here with a group of friends to celebrate my birthday on a Saturday night. We got two bottles and two hookahs total of $600 excluding tip which was about 20% now we headed to the bar to ask for some tap water. The first bartender with brown hair was actually nice. Second time I went to ask for a glass of water the other bartender with the black hair was very rude saying she was actually doing me a favor because apparently they charge $1 for a glass of tap water. Ohh I’m sorry so we’re here spending hundreds of dollars and you have a problem with giving me a glass of tap water? Never heard of a place that even charges for tap water. I guess she really was starving for a dollar.

Ive been here on weekend nights and for special events. They worked out a decent deal for some friends for their birthdays, but the crowd is somewhat generic and college feeling. There is some dancing though, which is always a plus in my book.

Came here on a Saturday night and it was quite the scene. On the first floor, they were having bachata night. The top floor and the roof had hip hop music (great DJ) and felt like a bona fide club. Everyone here except my group looked underage. Cash only.As we were leaving a group of girls walked up. They presented their fake IDs to the bouncer who offered to let them in for $10 each. They refused and were denied entry.

Do not ever come to this bar!!!!Let me explain what happened...so my friends and I arrived at the club around 1130 and I go to the bar and open a tab with the bartender in which she asked for both my ID and credit card, so I gave it to her and left with my drink. The bar was pretty empty (the rooftop was literally empty) and we were there for about 45 minutes to an hour before security started kicking everyone out and the lights came on. Apparently someone was hit over the head with a bottle. the police were there to investigate so my friend and I go to the bar to close out my tab which was only $14. So we are waiting at the bar and Im watching the bartender cash everyone out except me. my friend and I start getting annoyed cause at this point its been 15-20 minutes of us just waiting. Finally the bartender tells me, THEY LOST MY ID AND CC. HOW DOES A BARTENDER LOSE A CARD WHEN THE BAR IS HALF EMPTY?!Naturally my friend was irritated so she immediately started making smart remarks such as if you werent on your phone all night etc so the bartender who did not say sorry once and was completely and utterly rude about the entire situation did nothing to help. She kept saying were gonna keep looking and check in the back immediately I thought, why on earth would my ID/CC be in the back???Then I have security trying to kick me out asking me if there is a problem and I said yeah your bartenders lost my id/ccMeanwhile all of this chaos with me is going on my friend and the bartender begin to exchange words, she (bartender) was not getting it, they lost my drivers license and credit card. They eventually said they accidentally gave it to someone else which only made matters worse.The police advised us to leave the bar or we would be trespassingl and I had to file a police report and cancel my card right away. I checked my bank account however and my card was charged $36 and was immediately refunded.Ive called the bar and spoke to a man named Eddie who I presumed to be the manager and asked him what the hell was going on. He was entirely confused by the situation and said he would get back to me, its been 2 days and I havent heard anything.This bar is nothing but trouble STAY AWAY

Be careful trying to get into the spot. They pick and choose who gets in and come up with ridiculous policies to deter people. Guards at the front were quick to demand entrance fees but ignore your questions.

SCAM! We purchased VIP tickets which did not mean anything. There was no food as promised. Open Bar was zero alcohol for a 30 min wait. TheThe pl was so overcrowded it was dangerous. They did not clean broken bottles all over the floor. Couldnt even coat check. We wished we did anything else!

This was THE worst bar I’ve been to yet. A friend and I arrived and ordered Malibu pineapple drinks only to find that the drinks were extremely watered down. My friend later told me that she saw the bartender putting water in the drinks. I would definitely NOT recommend coming here to pay $10 for water and a tablespoon of alcohol.

Drinks are watered down. Place is pretty run down there literally always a cover and Im pretty sure its bc theres no other way for them to profit. Security is always rude to someone and their djs are subpar dont waste your time, there are much better pubs and venues in the surrounding area

I came here for the Crabfest June 2018, horrible experience. tickets were for 4PM and they already had no food. Started serving pizza.... Promoters outside collecting tickets said you can request refund. However when you do , they only give you partial which is a joke !Revised : After reaching out to the owner of the Bar 13 , he was a huge help and was able to get me my refund !! I asked one more time hoping for a estimated time and guess what she said...yup the bar will be open when the bar opens up again Turns out THEY OPENED THE BAR RIGHT AS THEY KICKED US OUT. Couldnt even get a glass of water.DJ was terrible too. It sounded like he was DJing on dinner plates.

Dj is horrible. Music is unorganized and all over the place. This is my third time here. Plays slow song, then fast song, then back to slow again. Nothing that makes me want to jump up and dance. You have to be really drunk to enjoy music.

One of the few decent rooftop bar right off of Union Square, its more the location and lack of competition that give it any kind of shine. Crowd tends toward hard body Bud Light drinkers but hey, hit it around five before it gets crowded and it can be a decent spot to rendezvous with friends before heading off somewhere better.

I paid $130 to come here for New Year’s Eve- You would have to pay me that much for me to come here again. SO CROWDED, they oversold the tickets- and the door man told my group that buying a ticket did not even guarantee entrance into the bar. Advertised as open bar- but there were so many people, there was nothing open about it. Including rude bartenders. Bad experience. Don’t go.

I really want to rate this place higher, because I have been here twice and had a good time, but Ive had a few issues, at my birthday party, no less:1 - The guest list person didnt communicate that we had a reservation and that the two birthday girls would be getting free drinks, so one of us paid to get in and the other had to complain to get the group in at the discounted wristband price AND to get a free wristband2 - The bouncers were shoving girls out of the way, whenever they felt like it3 - They tossed our friend out of the bar (LITERALLY THREW HIM DOWN THE STAIRS) because he put his hat on for two seconds (and literally, two seconds because it was the beginning of the night and I hadnt had any drinks. So, standing right next to him, it was ridiculous. This irritates me so much because of the excessive force used AND because there were tons of other people wearing hats THE ENTIRE TIME4 - It was nearly impossible to get to the bar, they need to fix this.But, after all of those issues, I did manage to have a good time and I liked that I had three floors to choose from. I know, can you believe Im giving it three stars? But really, I did enjoy having my party there, just wish things went smoother.

Went there for a private event, open bar was paid for, did not even allow all our guests to enter. we were supposed to have access to the rooftop bar and another floor, only had access to one floor for an hour, restricted from the rooftop. the open bar we paid for closed up within an a half hour, once we were allowed on the rooftop section they forced us to pay for a cash bar. BUT OUR WHOLE PARTY paid for an open bar. we left early cause of all the nonsense, we paid for 4 hour private event, and left in 2 because they even started letting random people into our event. DO NOT SCHEDULE EVENTS HERE .

This is a little old but it’s valid. There was a cinco de mayo open bar and taco event that happened at Bar 13. I purchased 3 tickets. My friends and I arrived about 5pm ish (it was supposed to be from noon to 9 I believe). When we got there the bouncer told us the party was done from like 3 pm no more open bar, no tacos. I paid $60 and still had to buy drinks and food. I’ve written several emails and never got a response much less my money back. False advertisement, taking people’s money isn’t right.

Good dance music, multiple levels (including roof). Go around corner to Cache entrance to pay a lower cover charge if you have cash.

Bar 13 has the best Music with astonishing djs know from the major radio station. The staff from the Bartenders to the food service is at 10 at a scale from 1-10. Bar13 deserves 5☆

Both times that I stopped through were for HouzeMuzik Parties--And My Immediate Favorite Thing About This Multi-Level Space Is The Lighting--Which Is To Live For, Secondly The Always Shiny Hardwood Floors, Intimate Seating, And The Actual BarSpace Itself that present a myriad of Exotic Libation Options!

I have never been to this bar. Ever. But, if you get close enough to a place, and your gps is on, Google will ask you to review it, so I will.Bar 13 is great. It is great because Ive never been there before and thus, I can pretend its whatever I want it to be, so I will pretend this place is full of Elon Musk clones smoking weed while hentai memes blast on the tvs stationed throughout the establishment.10/10. Quality pub.

I went here for New Years Eve, and it was the worst experience of my life. NEVER go here. We paid for VIP access, which promised entry at 8:00 pm (got in at 9:30), complimentary coat check ($5 cash only, and service was cut off at 10 so people were still wearing their coats come midnight), and exclusive use of the rooftop patio (VIP status was not checked for and the roof wasn’t heated, even behind the bar). I could not wait to get out of here. They very purposely oversoldthe club and I felt like a human skid puzzle. I may as well have gone to Times Square because that’s how crowded it was. The management was disrespectful to both the customers and it’s own staff, and this is hands down the worst bar I’ve ever been to. Do not go here

We bought tickets for the New Years party 2 weeks ahead of time. Waited outside for an hour to be admitted. Terrible bouncers, and horribly inefficient processes. Not worth your time, find a better party.

The event was DJed by my brother Tahleim and DJ Puffie--phenominal job on the wheels of steel, hosted by Tony Toca, and legendary guests like Cool Herc and T-La Rock were in the house. I didnt plan on staying long, but stood practically til the end.

Great spot on a sat night. 2 floors playing different music. Roof deck where you can chill, smoke, talk. The drinks are average price for city.

Lobster Fest event was horrible. The place was beyond packed and I was unable to enjoy myself. The promoter for the day ruined my experience and I doubt I will return to that establishment as a patron on a non event day.

Amazing spot on the city with a rooftop vibe as well, 2 bars in the place, and outside on the rooftop as well. Ill be celebrating my 41st B-day there this up and coming Tuesday with DJ Tony Touch, Statik Selektah, Becky Nuñez and many more friends.

We had a fun event. Nothing fancy, a small friendly club. There is a bar and a rooftop access. Parking is a usual challenge for NYC.

Okay place to grab a drink in the Union Square area, with a nice roof deck open in the warmer months, but theres not much else to report on. Adequate service and selection, but with such a dark interior, and nothing to set itself apart, Id go to Heartland Brewery or Reservoir first.

3 flights up so DO NOT get drunk. Comfortable affordable quick drink spot. Lots of college students frequent this spot.

One of the NYC treasures. Serving many purposes. Great for tourists loved by NYotkers. Up to bit with what is going on in the world (displays are designed by what NY art auction house have recently sold or what showing in MoMa/Whitney museum at the moment ext..) Amazing selection so as pricing. Also you can sell your old books there!

I work the No pants party here every year, staff is great, but the clientele seems to be a mixture of NYU kids, midcity office drones and random city stalkers.Nice rooftop.

Went to the crabfeast and open bar. It started at 2pm. Got there about 2:45pm, Line was around the corner. I paid an extrat $20 pp to go on a faster line. Got upstairs within 10 min and they ran out of liquor, and it was no food left. Packed like rats and just ghetho and dirty.Maybe I just went on a bad promotion event. But it turned me off.

3 floors of music & good vibes. Bach at a 1st floor 2nd hip hop & 3rd roof I didnt get to go I was having fun on the other 2 floors on Saturday

Smelled like pee walking up the stairs. Also the floor was wet from AC being on the floor. booo. The beer was city beer price. It took forever trying to close my tab, 15 min to much.I wouldnt go again, there are many other rooftop bars in NYC.

The 2 for 1 drink specials for happy hour were a pleasant surprise! The rooftop is small and intimate with nice seating arrangements.

My 2 favorite nights are Tuesdays and Sundays. Tuesday is a Hip-hop night, great crowd, celebrity DJs say Ivette for reduced entry. Sunday is a reggae night

Nothing special. Went for drink after work, not busy at all, but still took forever to get a drink. Then a few in, security comes to take bout seats away from bar just because. Again not busy so didnt understand why. We decided to just leave after that.

Had a great time 3 levels, but the Latin dance floor was the best I highly recommend it to everyone. The drinks are awesome.

It was alot of fun. The instructor was very helpful with his bachata class. I would go again. And I recommend it.

Awesome party on every floor! And after 11pm, one big party for all the floors. Great time!

The semi-open, tiny roof space can be fun if it isnt crowded, and the 2-for-1 happy hour is always cheap, but otherwise this bar can range from empty to full of weirdos. A union sq locations leaves it open to just about anything and anyone.

If you are looking to have fun with people from different countries, then, that is your club. It has three floor and each one plays amazing music, like Latin music, hip hop, Zumba, etc.

Im a Sikh and wasnt allowed to enter because I have to keep my hair covered and I had on a white bandana. Their are two racists bouncers that dont realize they work a minimum wage job and arent the law and have punched me in the face while I was pulling my friend away not to mention that it was a suckerpunch for no reason. I would never visit. Terrible management.

Small venue, great value, awesome crowd, good music.Diamond in the rough.Cant wait to have my co-workers come through for an afterwork happy hour experience.

A nice little bar , with a surprisingly awesome upstairs roof deck.It gets a little crapped up there but if you make up there after work or when its not busy its a really great place to chill , and have a few drinks at fair prices.

We got charge $250 for a New Year’s Eve party. vIP table with appetizers, gray goose vodka bottle & top shell champagne. We got crown venue. It really need to be shut down for over over selling and false advertisement. We got cheap vodka and drunk people

Great music and vibe.. security is extremely rude and inappropriate... I saw one dude harassing a female that was in the party after she explicitly told him she was not interested in him. It was inapprorpiate and creepy..

Terrible. We paid for a 4 hour open bar, and we were given open bar for only 1 hour. They would not even let in the people in our party that had paid for the event, but they did let in random people who were not in our party. We were also promised two floors, plus the rooftop, which they had blocked off even though we had paid for it. Do not do any future events here.

Drinks ok atmosphere not so great. Stairs leading up sketchy. Expect to wait even if your on a guest list.. probably wont be going back any time.soon

Music was good (hiphop/r&b mix) BUT wayyyyy to LOUD prices were to be expected in NY. Has mediocre bottle service and rooftop was closed.

Very cute rooftop. A pretty chill place to grab drinks with your group if you’re in the area.

No one is dancing. Acts like a club but no one is clubbing. Not really worth entrance. Nice photo spot though! (Bring a group to make it lit)

This bar is pretty cool, they have 3 floors all with different music and a rooftop. Turns into a great club during the weekends

$45 for a pride “brunch” but failed to mention that the “brunch” was only from 2-4pm. big scam
