I’ve been getting 2-3 pedicures a year from Kimarie and they are always nice and do a great job. Today, Nina did a great job and as always everyone else who works there are friendly. I use to feel awkward as a guy walking into a hair salon but the way you are greeted and the service you receive makes you feel comfortable.

If I could give negative stars I would. I do not usually post reviews but this was absolutely horrible and am posting this as a public service. I should have listened to the previous reviewer about horrible waxing experience but my usual lady was on vacation and I didnt like the way things looked. Booked a 10am Saturday appointment. Got there a few minutes late (walked into the wrong entrance at first - the hair salon has a separate entrance) but was greeted by an older lady and taken back to the room. I was the only customer there. She comes back in and asks bikini? I responded with I booked for underarms and full Brazilian. She says all gone? and shakes her head. I should have left at that point. She starts the waxing and it was literally as awful as the other reviewer described. Tons of tugging and pulling at the same area, several wax applications over the same place, etc ... I asked her to please make sure to get rid of all the hair. She kept saying she was done and I had to tell her what about the back, the inner thigh ... almost like she had no idea what a Brazilian was?! Finally after an hour we were done. I got up and put my glasses on and there were literally patches of hair EVERYWHERE - I was so upset. I paid the $90 and just left without saying a word. I cant speak for any of their other services, but based on this, the waxing service should be removed from their offerings because they have no idea what they are doing. Shameful.

I was wanting a quick haircut and just decided to try this place without an appointment since it’s close to my house and I had time to kill after running some errands. As soon as I walked in I knew I had made a mistake. There were very few customers in (mostly elderly) and the lady at the desk almost grabbed me by the hand and force sat me on the chair after I had asked « Do you do walk ins? » - hoping they would say no.I felt too bad to just walk out. It was very hard to communicate with the hair dresser, which was frustrating. I’ve been able to communicate expectations and preferences with most hair dressers, even if they speak little English which can happen. I get it; English is my second language too! But this person asked barely any questions and even when I communicated some preferences, like « I don’t want you to cut my hair too much. Just an inch » with gestures, she just went ahead with what she wanted and kept cutting She made gestures to ask me if I wanted layers and I said not too layered and yet she proceeded with what I feel was the only haircut she knew which was very layered and out of style. She also had the audacity to ask me about my « baby » and I wasn’t pregnant ????!! Like I feel this is something you never assume of people especially in customer service. Just because the gown you put on me gives me a weird bump - just - no. You don’t say things like that.I felt like I was back in the days of being an insecure teenager going to your mom’s salon where you can’t really be honest with the hairdressers because they have known you all your life and they do your mom’s coloring. V traumatic, would not recommend. Don’t be like me and walk out if you walk in by mistake!

I had a good experience here. They took me as a walk in and I did a gel mani and reg pedi. It was good for the price. The pedi was very thorough and I felt the massage was lovely. Then I asked if she could fix a bad haircut I had received at another shop and she listened to everything I said and did exactly what I wanted. It turned out great.

I normally dont review but this place deserves one. I go here all the time. They manage to make my hair so smooth and shiny. No matter what youre getting done they still will give you a small massage, even just your eyebrows. Its amazing how cheap the price can be for how great of a job they do. They have some cool tricks and special products they use to make my hair look extra good. The only issue is they have trouble speaking english but theyll normally have one of their teenage children working there to translate so youll get just what you wanted.

Terrible experience. Went in to have my eyebrows waxed. The lady spread the wax onto the skin very close to my eyelids. When she ripped it off it left two horrible welts that have not healed in 8 hours time. Never experienced anything like this before. I will not go back.

After a bout of the flu, I felt a wash and blow out was in order. I asked Jenny to strictly “ thin my bangs” not touch length. My eyes shut at the wondrous shampoo and head massage, and then the thinning scissors cameOut. When it was all over , my bangs were as short as Mamie Eisenhower’s and the rest of my previous below the shoulder blade hair had been shaved up to my ears and as the hairdresser I’ve gone to repair it says,”she shaved your hair and all the weight off”It’s been 5 weeks. FIVE. my bangs are still not at my Eyebrows yet. It will be at least a year until I can be co doesn’t in my Looks again. My family and friends were shocked. My advice is to stay far away, in fact do t even visit Wollaston Center. Stay away from Beale St and Kim Marie’s. Stay far, far away if you know what’s good for you.I can’t evem explain how this happened to me, but it will be many months before it can be back to where it was.Big fat Mistake. I’ll write a book about it one day. Save yourself. Please.

This place is mediocre at best. I was introduced to this shop almost a year ago and at the time I did gel acrylic but they always messed it up so I started going to another location. My first issue was that I had a nail that broke and they kept accusing me of cutting my nail improperly and I said no, my nail broke not to mention the lady kept telling me no she couldnt take the rest of the nail off for me, the ONE SINGLE NAIL, because she had an appointment at 10:30 yet it was 10:15. It takes all of 2 minutes to take off a nail... Fast forward to today, I live in Quincy but always go to South End to get my nails done now, gel manicure, but didnt have the time today so decided to make a stop here. Not only was I in there for an hr and a half (over 45 min just to remove the old gel color and 25+ for new paint & dry) the color is literally all over the place. They have the audacity to ASK for a tip, when the work isnt worth it to begin with (yes, I did give them one). They like to tell you what you want your nails like; I requested almond shape and she said my nails arent long enough but Ive had them shaped shorter, and then just proceeded to file however she pleased. I would absolutely not recommend this place to anyone, Ill just wait for days I have time to go back to the city for a proper manicure that lasts much longer and takes half the time.

If you want a not pleasent haircut and workers who dont listen to what you want, then this the place for you. I went in to get my hair dyed blonde. Instead I was rushed in and given light blonde highlights instead. Nowhere even close to what I wanted. Everyone was to busy on their phones watching youtube to even give a damn about the haircut. I just wanted to leave but they insisted putting jell and spray in my hair when I directly said no. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. Not worth hour hair and hour wallet.

I called ahead 2 see if they took walk-ins & I explained that I just had a bad cut that was choppy & uneven & could they fix it & they said yes come in. So I travelled there & was told by all in the store that they didnt know what I wanted & they said they couldnt explain 2 all there workers what 2 do so they ultimately said there was nothing they could do & I should try another salon. In my opinion they are extremely unprofessional & dont deserve the pos reviews theyve gotten cuz mine was complete opposite! Neva go there. Apparently the stylists down 2 the doesnt know what theyre doing & are inexperienced. STAY AWAY!!
