2nd time here. Massage therapist was Jacob. He had good technique and was able to oscillate between deep and firm pressures well. He was kinda easy to talk too, stayed calm and kept it professional.
I was told over the phone that the facial was only $45, even with the add ons. I told her I didnt want my face picked at, and she said its an extraction. Then told me after it cost extra, and they charged me $140 !! Over TRIPLE what I was quoted. I will never return to this location or company. This place is a scam.
I was told that I could sign up for an $80/month membership which could be cancelled at any time. When I called to cancel, I was told the manager was in a meeting, and I would be called back. I was not called back. I called again every other week, with the response that the manager was away, but they would get back to me. They never did. I filled out a web form to be contacted back by Massage Envy about a month ago, and I still havent heard anything. I moved away, so I havent been able to visit the location in person.Please be careful about signing up for the membership...
Arden Way Sacramento Massage Envy is the worst!!! If I owned this franchise Id sell it. Now I get why people consistently warn me away from booking at Massage Envy. Zero concept of customer service. The Arden store manager was snippy and childish to begin and then gave me the wrong contact details for the area manager. When I called back to get the correct information her lack of professionalism turned into a snotty phone manner. The area manager was absolutely useless when I finally received an email back from her. Theyve lost my business
Very frustrated. I came here because I was gifted a $100 gift card to this company. When signing up they require you to put a card on file to book the appointment. after my session I handed my gift card to the lady at the register. my service was 80 dollars and she swiped the gift card and said there was 100 on the card and asked how much I wanted to charge. I said to just use the whole thing and give the extra 20 as tip. She tossed the card as it was now empty. Couple days go by and I notice my personal card that I had on file was charged 100 dollars. I was playing phone tag with them for weeks to get a hold of a manager. They were always busy with something and were “going to call me back in 5 minutes” never called me. And whoever at front desk that I spoke to was saying I had to prove I had a gift card??? So YOUR cashier messes up, which I’m sure they never even asked her about it, and I have to go try and track down proof of a gift card that was gifted to me. they stole $100 dollars from me. never would have even came here if it wasn’t for the gift card. And I definitely won’t be returning.
I have been at the Arden way location twice now. I have to agree that this location has no concept of customer service. I was given credit from my husband to use. When I booked it, I clearly specified that I would be using my husbands credit and they confirmed that all was good. And I would only pay the $10 transfer fee. When I checked out after my massage, i was asked to pay $80. Then I was advised that credits to the same person could only be transferred once every six months. This is not about money but rather lack of professionalism and communication. I am not new to massages but every therapist has a different style. Do not recommend this place to anyone.
Tried to cancel this membership after I moved out of state in 2020. Closest Massage Envy to my new home was 60 minutes away plus the closest location had limited hours and scheduling was nearly impossible. I was told I had to cancel my membership through the original location. Tried calling so many times and was told the manager would call me and of course that never happened. Finally today February 2023 I was able to cancel my membership and was informed I have 17 sessions that were paid for but I will not be able to use. Buyer beware if you are planning to sign up for a membership at least at this location. They obviously do not care about their clients and are happy to continue to bill your credit card even though you haven’t been in for several years.
The quality of this location has gone way down. I used to have a membership and gave it another try but it was bad. The customer service and overall vibe was less than mediocre. Not spa like at all felt like they wanted to get me in and out quickly, felt very low quality. Massage person was nice but the massage was not good at all. Definitely don’t recommend this location.
Chico location- stellar! Jill is a wonderful masseuse. Oh my goodness - great technique and intuition. Facial by Kris?, Was amazing as well. She gave me all the information I needed and helped me feel comfortable doing a microderm abrasion. I highly recommend the Chico location. Great group of gals there, awesome staff.
Staff is awesome. Understanding of your needs. I used to come to this place 10 years ago but I could no longer afford to get a regular massage But its amazing I got the same great masseuse that worked there 10 years ago. Kristie is wonderful. I just wish other people getting massages werent so talkative. The walls are a little thin only down side.
I wish I could give zero stars if possible. I never had a problem with the services I received until I needed to cancel my membership. My 12 month contract had already been fulfilled so I was within our agreement of cancelling with no additional fees. Cancelling is not as easy as it would seem with them. I was told by the front desk that only the manager can process my cancellation and that there is a 10 day processing for a cancellation to go through. I called on a Monday and left a message. I went into the business on Tuesday and left another message for the manager. I called and left a message again on Wednesday, no return call. I ended up having to call my bank to have a stop payment completed for this business because it seemed like no one would ever cancel my membership. I finally received a form on Thursday for cancelling the membership via email, which I promptly walked in to submit personally that same day. I requested a copy of this form, which the receptionist said would take 10 days for the manager to complete (the manager was in the back office, I heard them talking), mind you, the form only required her signature- it was not a lengthy document.Today I received an email from the director that my request for cancelling has been denied because this months payment did not go through.This does not make sense to me that they would deny my request for cancelling, even though I fulfilled my 12 month contract. There was no information given to me that there are additional fees required for cancellation even after my contract has been fulfilled. I checked the history of Massage Envy online and it seems there are multiple lawsuits and unhappy customers from various locations. They definitely engage in some shady business practices.
I purchased a $200 gift voucher for my wife, she used some of it in August, at the same time she signed up for a membership program at an extra cost, and still had a remaining balance of $120 on the gift card. Today she tired to book a massage and was told her membership expired and she lost all the money she added and the $120 that was remaining on the gift voucher. The lady on the phone at this Arden location repeatedly told her there was nothing she could do. Please dont let this happen to you, dont sign up for a membership, and do not buy your wife a gift voucher here, my wife only got to use less than half of her gift voucher, what a waste of money!
The estheticians are great. Still trying to find the right massage therapist. They have got to figure out their computer system as it has messed up 3 of my appts in the last 4 months. But that is not the locations fault as the front desk staff is wonderful. Im sure that comes from corporate.
The employees are fine. It is almost impossible to cancel the membership. If you have hours built up you have a very limiting time to use them. When I finally canceled my membership they charged me for the next month because I didn’t cancel within 10 days of my billing date. REALLY!?!?!? BEWARE!!!
7 attempts of contact. None was returned. 3 requests for a member specialist. 4 attempts to call during business hours. No response except they will contact me back. Roommate that is a member with them called 3 min after I did. Got a live person in 2 rings. Seriously. Not acceptable.
My massage experience was great, however all the hours I payed for were only rolled over if I contined my (6 month agreement ) package. I lost serveral hours that I did not use only because I did not agree to pay indefinitely. Futhermore, I do not live near there any longer and I can not use any of those hours at another location.
This is an excellent location of Massage Envy. Laurie is an excellent therapist. She does an amazing job. Her massages are fabulous! I highly recommend her for the most relaxing massage youve ever had.
Larissa was exceptional. I couldn’t move my head from side to side from sleeping wrong. She was general yet firm.
We have had years of professional, high quality care from Ann. She is consistent and conscientious about medical conditions etc.. She is a healer who cares--and is reliable, responsible and a great therapist! Changed my life!
The massage was great! But the women at the front desk was so pushy and kept trying to sell me a membership. She didnt let me relax and enjoy my experience, extremely annoying.
If I could do no stars I would. I’m a student and I was doing my externship there, the manager liked to take away hours that I had done and she was giving me clients that weren’t working at the location. She lied to my school in her evaluation and lied to them saying I had edited hours. When in fact she was trying to change my hours. Plus she told my school that she let me go from my externship site when in fact I had gotten in my car to drive over there and she told me not to bother coming in because she didn’t schedule anyone for me to work on. If your a massage student and looking for an externship site don’t go to massage envy on Arden in Sacramento it’ll ruin your schooling and You’ll regret it like I had. This is just a life lesson for me but I’m super pissed off.
Front Desk staff is extremely snobby and uptight. Had such a negative experience on the phone with them.
After numerous tries I finally found the absolute best therapist - Jen. Huge problem now is that she is leaving. I will keep my monthly subscription and follow her but once it is up I will be going to Jen FT at her new location.
Great Place but dont even try to make an appointment online! The online appointment service is horrible. I have tried ti use it 4 times and each time my experience was bad. 3 times I made appointments only to have them call me and tell me that the systemm made a mistake and that I was unable to get the appointment I booked. Another time I tried to book an appointment that showed as available and when I tried to complete it I got an error message stating that they were unable to complete my request. No explanation. Its best to just call as the staff is always friendly and helpful (at the Loehmans location)
Great masseuse Laurie super friendly and caring. Highly recommend this calm and friendly place for a massage. No pressure. Reasonable rates. I will go back!
Angel is the best. She is experienced and helpful with all of my questions, her deep tissue massage is the best Ive had. Better than the midtown location and several of the locations Ive visited.
I really enjoy my massages. The therapist have worked with me to address several issues.When I rarely have an issue management has been very responsive.
