The Press Club

Great local bar in Sacramento. Some would call it a dive, I call it 46 days til New Years. Mikhala is awesome, Terry is a regular who you must meet. We are pretty sure he owns it, but he’ll never tell. Buy him a drink.Do note, it’s cash only but they have an ATM machine in the building ready to go.Oh and did I mention the beer is cold, the drinks are drinks, and just get your birthday here.

This place has tons of potential. I live the fact they are Ani al friendly. Great place

Sunday Church is the most fun Ive had dancing in years. Heavy pours, great music, a crowd that spans decades and is so fun and welcoming. Im def coming back and bringing friends!

Fun little club! The drinks are cheap and strong, so if that’s what you’d like this is the place for you. The night I went they started by playing a good mix of current music and a few throwbacks. But, by around midnight or 1 AM, the DJ started playing only 90s hits… Don’t get me wrong those are fun, but can get a little bit old one it’s one after another for hours. I don’t know if this is how it is every time, so I will definitely be back to try again because the crowd was fun and the vibe was chill.

Love the dance floor, love the bar, and love the prices. My only qualms was how hot it was on the dance floor (middle of winter). Adding a few fans of something would make going here regularly a guaranteed amazing night. I call bars like these End Bars because these are the type of bars I end my bar crawls at.

I absolutely love this place as well. They support me during church on Sundays where they play funk music. I provide safe free rides for the impaired or drunk. Preventing the pain it could cause to the community as well as local families. I believe in not bringing the people down but trying to create a service that prevents incidences that could affect the community. Thank you so much Press Club and I will see you Sunday

I am ashamed went there early on a Sunday morning to have a drink while I waited for a bbq event. It was just me in the bar tender and a older man I believed he worked there. The bar tender poured me a nice drink. Rum in coke. Or rum and little coke. I had the drink three min and spilled it. The bar tinder replaced the drink with no extra charge. I finished the drink tip him and he has won over a new customer. They do live bands on week days and Dee Jays on weekends and its a unique looking bar , small place but worth the visit.

Good bartender earlier in the evening but the next bartender acted as if we were bothering her and the DJ played some of the worst music I have ever heard, it was as if it was the 70s in a really bad roller skating rink. Hopefully the night for better there, wouldnt know since the bartender and the bad music turned us off from staying. We moved on to Badlands where at least the bartender didnt treat us like we were inconveniencing her.

Great place to dance, down to earth people, Sunday funk nights are the best nights to groove.

DJ Larry’s Sunday funk night hooked me. Everyone & everything else about this old-school spot made me a die-hard local for life. And I don’t even live in Sac. Worth whatever they charge if there’s a cover, but usually it’s cheap or free. Go early, stay late. Bartenders & Larry take requests. They’ve got my back any time I need a little Liberation Conversation.

Decent place as long as you show up already hammered. Cant complain about bar service or drink stiffness but it was very crowded and the had no room to sit as well as dirty and gloomy. Overall it wants to be a dance club but feels like a dive bar with too loud music and expensive drinks.

January 1st and going out drinking before kings game my friend and I ordered a Bloody Mary and then had to listen to the bartender and another bartender that was not on duty but drinking talk about how no one should order a Bloody Mary after 1pm. Since there was only 3 other people in the bar they definitely were speaking to us. Left and went to Zebra club which had a more positive vibe and customers.

I just happen to go the Sunday Night Dance Party, and found to a very niceclub where you come as are. You dont have dress Formal or simi-formal, but decent & presentable (smart casual). 21 and over.What I like about this club is the way it designed venue it represents the bar is right in middle the of the structures & the dance floor is build around it with tables & chairs placed strategic placed to help people to move around club as walkers or dancers, it has entry & exit doors separate from each other in different locations a specific way come in & leave out of the the place. I also like the fact that the dance floor is liberal to all dancers couples as well as single indivual. who dance on their own with or without a partner. when the music is bumping the spirited run free start to just dance & have fun, young & old alike! One more thing the drinks are reasonably priced. All & all its very nice club to have and enjoy yourself & if you get their b4 10 pm, there is no cover charge!

Many memories over the years have been created here. Its a mix of a dive bar and small dance club. I cant recall the drink prices but I believe theyre average prices. My friends and I typically find ourselves here towards the end of our night, but we always enjoy the dance floor.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Unfortunately the nice venue and prices were wasted on really rude staff. I went with my friend one Saturday and was a little buzzed but not out of control. After paying for drinks and the cover, it was only ten minutes later when a bouncer put his hand on my back and told me to leave. It was uncomfortable and disrespectful after already paying.

Welcome to the book 1984 friends. These guys ares are linked to a network of bars. That collect data on consumers and have the ability to ban or blacklist. I understand sexual harassment discrimination and other unwanted factors and are tedious to deal with. Folks do not allow a totalitarian society evolve.Cheers!

I love to dance and I just couldnt. The DJ was horrible, cutting off songs and disgusting mixesand transitions. As soon as you got going with a song it was over like 10 seconds sometimes less. I left early upset!

Loved dancing in the Press Club but when it hit closing time the men yelling and threatening you to move across the street is crazy. I am 35 years old, and have business partners with me from a different country and this was embarrassing. They yell that they will get fined if we are waiting for our uber, they threatened us and yelled at us. I will never return and they need to learn respect to their customers. It’s disgusting.

Horrible security! My bf had on a white t shirt (it was NOT baggy and oversized) and some shorts. Security wouldnt let him in because his shirt wasnt tucked in and was too long? They tried to make him tuck it in... It was too short to even tuck in. It was like an 1 and 1/2 below his waist line.... Seriously. Ive been here before and it was alright but i dont plan on returning anytime soon. Their drinks are a little over priced too.

Drinks are terrible here. Ordered a 7 n 7 it was all soda. Music is top 40 on days where theres no featured nights. Music goes from Hanson to Cardi b. You never know whats next.

This place is cool for something small and low key. But if your there for an event, I hope your not claustrophobic. Theres no Windows and youll feel like your suffocating.

A nice bar with bands. I came on an average hipster night. Drinks priced average. Small stage, dancefloor. Security was nice. Ill come check it again.

Girls who live in midtown looove this place.. it’s got dancing, a low light dingy vibe and cheap drinks.. as the guy, everything is cash only so make sure to bring it or else you have to use this old ATM machine that charges you an arm and a leg.

Kinda dark and staff wasn’t very attentive at my visit. Advertises itself as a night club but appears to be more of a bar for locals. No music was playing when I went. Just a movie on the tv. Also doesn’t accept credit for payment. Is strictly cash only.

Went for reggae , was a very small turn out but its a tuesday so you, but they should advertise more but at least the bartender makes strong drinks!!

Friendly bartenders. Great dance party dj on Sunday nights and no cover. Security staff is very alert and quick to deal with any issues

THE place to be for dancing on a Sunday night or live music throughout the week. Its a cool dive bar during the day and they always show Giants games on the 2 screens.

Small cool club and bar. Mixed crowd. Pretty girls and ugly guys. Perfect. Cheap drinks located near two other bars. Nice.

Good happy hour. Loved even more after visiting bathroom... graffiti and a sign saying how women can feel safe...

My experience was very pleasant... reasonably priced beer on tap.Exceptionally attractive bartender in afternoons..dont miss out!

The reason why Im giving them three stars is because their drinks were stupid ass cheap plus there was plenty of parking so easy to get in and out but on the other side music was a little dead and dull not my taste

My favorite club in Sacramento! I mainly go to Funk Night Sundays with DJ Larry. Downfall, only one bathroom stall per gender... lines can get crazy.

I only go here when bands play. The selection at the bar isnt the greatest. But overall its a pretty cool place.

Spent a lot of my growing pains at this place. Great memories and a lot of Rite of Passage years. Learned what I didnt want my future to be & what I did want my future to be.

There isnt anything particulary great or awful about this place. its just kinda a spot to go if youve got a lack of something else to do. Actually, i admit on the bisy nights it is funner to just hang outside and have a smoke or two and people watch.

Everytime i tell someone im going to press club they look at me and tell me ive never had a bad night at press and its true. Youll 100% have a good night at press

Havent been here in years and it hasnt changed, always fun with lots of dancing, great music and a good vibe.

No charge before 10, DJ was great. Had a good mix of Oldies & current Pop music.

Cool spot dark inside or it was on the soulful Sunday when I went.. They had black lites for the neon painting going on..

MC Ham and Flower Vato put on a great dance parties here. Zero tolerance for douche bags and douche baggery.

Its a bar. Its not fancy and its not pretty. I wouldnt go there to hang out. Not that much seating and what seating they do have isnt that comfortable.
