Great show, good bar, good food, nice area in back to chill before show or turning break. Beware-Seating is available but cost extra and unfortunately your view is blocked by the crowd, also standing in line can be a tough one when the mercury screams upward...But all things considered I would see more shows here in a heartbeat..
I love this location for music performances. The ticket prices are reasonable and ADA access is available if you ask. Its got a vibe of an old-school speakeasy. The stage is perfectly placed to make an intimate experience with the artist you cant get at an arena show. The bartenders are friendly and proficient in making all manner of cocktails even mocktails for the non-boozy folk. The back patio is spacious with comfortable places to sit and smoke. They even have heaters for cold days. Security is professional and friendly. The security guys pay attention to customers. Example: I dont partake in alcohol and the one older gentleman security guard checked on me because he saw me getting wobbly. He asked if Id had too much to drink and when I said no he got me a chair to sit down. Reservation for tables is required if you want a dedicated spot. This place is on my top 5 locations for shows. Great job HARLOWS keep up the good work!(Taj Farrant is the guitar genius in the photos attached.)
We went to the starlet room for a concert there. It was amazing! The bar is really nice. Its well lit. Theres a lot of seating there to sit down and listen to the bands. You can walk down the stairs out back and go to a really nice inviting outside area to sit and have your drink or do whatever you want to do. I loved it. It was awesome. I had never been to the starlet room. Im definitely going to go again
Went here last night for Goth night. Music was good and easy to vibe too. The atmosphere was great and they even had local vendors which was really cool. The drink were okay, pours were average, nothing that screamed wow. The only weird thing is the bartender kept changing the price of the drinks. One moment my total was 20 then they said waitnits 30. Then they said oh wait its 45. At that point I called shenanigans and asked for a break down. Then the price went back down. First time here not sure if Ill come back because that was a little concerning. Overall a good experience minus drink issues.
Its nice but small, with a full crowd its a great experience. There are not many tables or chairs, so Im guessing they have some storage on sight. I didnt see an elevator, so those that have trouble climbing stairs will want to call ahead of accommodations. Staff were nice, just doing their jobs. Also, parking can be a bit tricky, but if you get there early enough, you can park at the park with no issues.
Always a good vibe here. I only frequent their goth/industrial nights, but Ive always had excellent drinks and top notch music selection. Security is always on top of any issues, if there even were any, and the place feels safe and welcoming for all people and types.
What a blast!Got to see Save Faris for the first time!Harlows was a great venue for a show! They have an amazing patio, with fire cones! And, The show was great! We ordered some asada fries and some asada tacos. The fries were good drunk food, the tacos kinda sucked. Still ate em though.All-in-all....it was a great time! Thanks everyone!
Harlows is an excellent, well operated live music venue. Ive seen a handful of shows over the years, and this is a staple on the J Street (and 28th Street) block. Jim, the owner, is an excellent leader for the local and national live music scene.
Sound system is not good. Base too high and sound muffled when band or recording plays. Seating is limited so go early. Food is OK, eat before you arrive. Parking is unclear, which the staff cannot help figure out. The door said to park where there is a meter.
Loved this place. Saw ¡Mayday!, Hiway, KO and others. Awesome show. Nice venue! Would definitely go back for more shows!
Very nice staff. The venue let me sit (reserved a seat for me) during a standing-room-only event due to my disability.Good selection of beverages and bites. My only complaint is that the restrooms were on the other side of the venue from the seating area. That arrangement is probably great for most people (who wouldnt want to be seated near the toilets), but it doesnt work well for disabled people. It was very difficult to navigate through the crowd to get to the restroom.Overall, it was a fantastic night!
I hope this place stays up forever and ever. Saw a lot of my favorite artists and bands here upstairs and downstairs… lots of memories accompanied by nice staff. Haven’t tried their food or alcohol, but they serve a big cup of a non-alcoholic drink called “Like A Virgin” for $10, which has an incredible blend between a bunch of fruit extracts served with a cherry and lemon. Now I want another one writing this. See you soon again!
I go to Harlows twice a month at least - they get the best acts and the staff is amazing!
Good place to see touring bands. good drink menu and friendly staffThe smoking area is nice and spacious too
There moved the seats that were next to the stage and now you must PAY extra to sit. I did have a pole to lean against. Good show, needs more seats for 55+ please.
Emo night tour! Fantastic venue! Mosh pit got a little crazy in such a small venue but no one got severely hurt!
I had so much fun on one Saturday, that I turned around the following Saturday and brought a friend! Two weeks ago I went and saw Heartless, a Heart cover band. While at *Harlows, I enjoyed a Divine Jean Harlow Burger and fries for dinner. A bit pricey, but oooh that burger was good!Last Saturday, I returned to see Petty Theft (Tom Petty tribute band). We had an awesome time!My friend ordered a chocolate chip cookie, with decadent dipping sauce. She loved the cookie and wanted to drink the dipping sauce she was so impressed (she didnt though).Bring your good shoes, unless you can afford up to $200 for a booth, youre gonna be standing (or dancing).Theres seating outside, firepits, you can hear the band, but not nearly as well.A nice venue, reasonable prices for shows and an absolutely fantastic way to support local musicians & businesses at the same time!🤘*COVID shot/booster proof required
Fun venue for live music and dancing. Catch a show with up and coming or seasoned artists when you can. Staff is great as well.
VERY kind security and bar staff! the virgin drinks are fab-u-lous (i am allergic to alcohol)! the back patio is amazing 😍 even on a rainy night in sac. theres a lot of space to dance as well as be a wallflower and people watch 😂🤣 so i enjoyed a night out there with my best mate from high school😁great place for the dd as well as the partakers 🤣
Saw Mustache Harbor the once again, love that fun band, love the venue. Just dawned on me that I have been going to Harlows for 25 years, wow, tripping out saying that :-)Everyone on town (well, almost everyone) knows Harlows, if youre new to the area, visiting, or a local living under a shell, check out Harlows calendar, pick an event that suits your liking be it comedy, local bands, touring bands, famous bands, spoken word, Latin style dancing and so much more, just know this well staffed, well designed, well priced lounge will polish off the experience for a perfect evening/night.
People who work here work with the public ... Listening should be a part of the requirement for working here. Be more knowledgeable and listen better, it would take your place further.
Attended club necromancy, it was so much fun! Love the venue. Such a Sacramento gem!
Sacramento Blues Society event and. Y first time here. Loved it!
Went here for the Emo Night Tour on Thanksgiving Eve. The venue was really spacious and clean. The bartenders, security and ID Check staff were very respectful and professional. Would definitely come here again for another event!
Tried and true; great music, good people, not too fancy....relaxing casual neighborhood comfort. Its been 30 years since my first visit~ God Im old!!! 😬🍻🫶
Starlight room: nice little venue, good sound, good selection of booze. Would watch another concert here
Harlows is great, love the indoor space and well as the back patio. Starlet room is fun for smaller more intimate shows.
The best things about Harlows are the musicians they bring in and the quality of their sound. They present really great shows, with a huge variety of genres, & their sound system & engineers are top-notch. The room itself is nice, but the chairs are awful - uncomfortable as all get-out! Their drinks are mediocre - expensive & weak, so I usually stick to a glass of wine there. The food is also mediocre at best - very limited menu, any chicken you order there is fried & they have the worst-tasting ketchup! The staff is generally friendly & professional, which is a plus. Im not a fan of their entrance management, always have to wait in line to get in, even in inclement weather. And I dislike them electronically scanning my drivers license & taking my photo before I can enter. The only reason I continue to go there is the shows they offer.
Multiple bars, back patio for fresh air and a break between performers. Small venue and it’s always easy to find a good spot to watch the performers. One of my favorite venues in Sacramento.
Great bar tenders and staff. Cool venue. Awesome back patio
I went to see Vision Video. Great show, great venue, no complaints!
As a show-goer AND a performing musician, I can say very confidently, that this is easily one of my favorite venues ever. The food is great, the bar service is fantastic, and always very fast. The sound in this venue is absolutely on par with any other high-end venue. They have a huge back door patio for people who want to step outside in between sets. Theres also ample seating for people who decide to come early, and even though they have all of these amenities, this venue doesnt act pretentious like any of the other larger, monopoly-owned venues in town.Take one look at the calendar, and you will see how much pride they take in booking great acts! This place is truly a gem.Ive lived in several states, and played/visited MANY venues between them, and all of California, and from all my experience, I really mean it when I say that we are lucky to have a venue like Harlows, here in Sacramento.
Good place for a low key band. Drinks were good, bartender was cute. What else can you ask for? The back patio was fantastic on a warm early fall night
Always have a blast. Security is great safe fun place
I really like the layout because you can the stage from pretty much anywhere on the floor - even while at the bar.
Its a pretty cool place. Went to see some bands play. Its pretty dark inside, but cool lighting, except they dont turn the lights up alittle in-between bands. Its loud so you cant really talk inside, but they have a really nice back patio with plenty of seating. Its nice, Id go again. 💕
Fun, intimate venue. Comfy diner-style seats around the wall with table service and they keep ample space for a dance floor. Great beer selection!
Super cute venue, good people working there.
The starlit room is a nice for a rock show. The sound is alright, there is a lot of bass bleed from the lower room. The staff was very nice. Generally a good time.
I went to Harlows to see Ms. Avery Sunshine and as usual she was awesome. While standing outside waiting for the doors to open a small line developed. The tall trees were shedding some nasty debri which got in our hair because there was no awning. I got priority seating which meant folding chairs in front of the stage, about 10 rows worth. For me the music was way to loud for that venue. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Harlows is more for hanging out, dancing, having some cocktails and maybe a bite to eat but not for a live show, my opinion. And parking was crazy, on a Sunday night.
This venue was amazing! The staff was so friendly and the atmosphere is like no other! Leon showed me all around the venue, there is an upstairs bar area featuring up and coming artists. A beautiful patio area. The bartenders know how to make a drink and the food is delicious. 10/10!
Rockin place to see a show! Nice outside.
Good sound and great service.Friendly and comfortable intimate atmosphere. 👍👍Clean restroom and quick entry.
Place was all good. The bathrooms were clean. Drinks were priced okay. Staff were okay as well. The real reason this was a mid experience at best is they tried cut off the music at 11PM. Ive seen the headliner 5 separate times. This was the shortest set Ive seen from him. Ive seen him rip sets for two hours. Harlows cut him off after 40 minutes. If thats the citys fault then they need to start shows earlier to give the headliner opportunity to rock it. Start the show at 7PM instead of 9PM.I wont be coming back to this spot again. Ill drive to the Bay Area to see the headliner next time. They dont cut the music off at 11PM.
Excellent small intimate venue with awesome back patio. Great snacks. I think it may be one of my favorites in the area!
This place small and i love that. Great shows
I went to see Kindred Family Soul. I loved the concert. New and my brother went, the show was too start at 7PM we got there at 6:45PM and the waitress told us we got the last order of wings, they were already out of wings. I told my brother the show hasnt even started yet, how are they out of wings? We ordered some other stuff and come to the conclusion the food isnt good but the band and crowd was fun.
Drunkenly sprained my ankle. Eli brought me ice. Give him a raise.
Came with my boyfriend to see Save Ferris. Great intimate venue with a full bar, stage, patio, and limited seating. Great sound! All around a fun experience. Will return for sure in the future.
Super nice venue for great shows!
We stopped by to see a band this last week. We were really impressed with the space. There was a lot of room for viewing the stage. There werent really any bad spots to stand. We sidled up to the stage and had a great time. The bar is located in a good spot and it was easy to get in for beers and other drinks. The sound in the room was consistent no matter where we stood and it wasnt too loud. We like the space because you could get personal with the band playing on the stage due to the stage set up. Great place to see a show.
Saw a concert in the upstairs Starlet Room. It was a nice venue with a bar, tall tables, and some lounge seating. I especially appreciated the gender inclusive bathroom.
Went to New Wave 80s dance night. People dressed up in 80s gear. I saw Madonna, Gary Newman, guys with eye liner and full-length coats :) DJ played all the right songs. Good crowd. I will be going again!
Fabulous venue. Great staff, friendly and efficient. Love the feel of the place and it has great upstairs and downstairs space for all events .
Love the intimacy being so close to the band, wherever you sit or stand!
Theme nights very much not worth it, especially for the price
Horrible place to see a well known act. Standing up for a concert without seating is crazy. Standing for three hours is not good. I wont do that again. The bar staff were good and one of the staff went out of their way to help me with another issue. I just cant get over no seats for a concert.
Fair warning theyre sexist and wont hire females for photography work.
Wowww will not go here again. The bartenders were so rude. The venue itself was fine but they refused to give my friend and I water! They just wrote us off said there was water in the self serve and when I said it was empty they literally just shrugged their shoulders and were so rude about it. This happened at the main bar and the one outside! Like are you kidding me? We can’t even get water? Terrible for people drinking and trying to stay hydrated. They also tried to give my friend an empty back when she ordered a shot. Like if you’re out of stuff just say it? Awful service.
Are you looking for a good time tonight? Want to have a fun night out, in a venue large enough to house decent name bands, but small enough to feel intimate?Harlow’s is the perfect mix. With a large outdoor patio, VIP seating, and it is large enough to house 500 people (per the door person).Only drawback is the bar, the set up for their available drinks scrolls across 2 tvs but they are set up to change screens so quickly that it takes 3-4 times of waiting for the scroll to come around again to read thru the options fully. Get around this by just ordering whatever you normally drink. Their signature drinks aren’t special enough to warrant wasting your time and holding up the line, which already averages 7-10 minutes in the times I have been there. There is another venue upstairs, (the starlet room) which does muck up the line to get in the front of Harlow’s, but not enough to do much about at this point. The sound quality is pretty good, enough bass to let you feel it, without feeling like you need hearing aids the next day.The crowds that this venue draws that I have been a part of have been friendly, and I have yet to feel out of place with them. The staff their is excellent, and approachable. Including the bar staff, who must have the worlds best hearing to get the drink orders over all the noise. The seating around the outer edge of the dance floor is comfortable, and doesn’t take up so much room that it is intrusive. The neighborhood, is midtown, and parking is never more than a few blocks walk.I very much enjoy this venue, and plan to see many more shows here going forward. Hope to see you at one.Pro-tip: see “The emo night tour”, at Harlow’s. They are a cover band who does 5 sets (2 full band, 3 Dj sets) of pop punk and emo songs from the 2000’s forward.
Aki Kumar might be the most entertaining blues artist out there today. And his guitarist shreds. The sound is so great in there. Incredible architecture creates some of the best sound diffusion Ive experienced at a venue that size.
Great club to see live music. Wait staff and bartenders were super friendly. Location is easy to get to with lots of parking in the neighborhood.
Staff really helped me out tonight. Advice for entitled persons: if you don’t Karen-out, maybe your Fairygodmanager will appear!15 out of 5 stars
Met some friends to listen to live music. Its a fun place. It is quite small and most of the tables had been pre reserved. So it was hard to find a place to hang out. I recommend getting there early.
Last month i was at r&b night, music is good and so are the vibes but this WORKER, literally pushed through my gf and her friend. no excuse me, no warning just full on PUSH THROUGH. he was white, grey/brown beard and was working on the floor. he was literally in a rush bc the tv that shows the drinks was showing samsung instead lmao. @ white man, do better and say EXCUSE ME.
Had a blast!! The place is so much fun huge outside area crazy perfect inside set up and whoever did the sound there is badass!! I had a lot of fun the bartenders are on it qnd friendly just cant say enough good things about this place.
Intimate place to see a band or show. Highly recommend pregaming to save money on drinks.
Visited last Saturday for Maoli concert. So freaking awesome!! Not a bad spot anywhere in here to view and listen to the band. Great staff and bartenders. Nice outside area to smoke, talk story, or to get some air after dancing.
Went to support two of our friends in the Darling Clementines burlesque and drag show, held once a month at this establishment. its a great set up for this show, and the cast and crowd alike are amazing. check them out if youre in the area, and bring tip money!
The bouncer with pink hair was in a very foul mood. She was rude, never smiled and just plain nasty. Not going back nor recommended. ordered fries, and the fries were cold and soggy, for $12 a basket, i expected better quality.
Went here to see a local band I know and I love the place. It feels good to be in there because of the surroundings and the people are cool! The stage looks great and the sound is nice and loud! Try the place, its fun!
I love the Momo Lounge! My favorite time to go is on Wednesday evenings, for Bourbon and Blues. From 6:30 to 9, some of the best local and touring blues acts . Where else in Sacramento can you go on a weeknight for an early show and get your blues fix?
Harlows is a fun place for a night out. The interior is beautifully designed and decorated There is a spacious dance floor for those who like to shake their grove thing and a good amount of seating for those who like to watch. The bar is nice and long and the drinks are tasty. When you need a little fresh air Harlows has an outside courtyard that is set up prefactly for having a conversation and drinks. I am definitely going to attend another show at Harlows
I love going when they have Irie Nights(Jamaican and Afro Beats) Theres never any fighting, safe environment, and you can enjoy with friends. I like that its a mixed crowd, outside lounge area if you want to chill take a breather, theres also a bar in the lounge area with seating if your feet need a break from the dance floor, and a nice place to meet new people.
Pretty decent fare, nicely appointed, and the staff was both friendly and attentive. We went to see a live show and were seated on one totally comfortable couch. The seating chart for live shows is predominantly in the furnished booths that line the walls in a semi circular pattern facing the stage, providing great views free of the sardine can setups that have become the norm.
Was fun place for dancing. Has a small bar, drinks were nothing special. Very basic interiors.
Great small music venue.
Best music venue in Sacramento. Many good bands coming through. Nice place.(Nov 2021 update: last few shows here it has been very hot and stuffy inside. Not sure if something is amiss with the HVAC. Still a quality venue, but make it cooler.)
Absolutely amazing! I got to do the VIP Meet and Greet with my favorite artist SkyDxddy!
Great local live music venue. Not a bad view in the place. When in town to visit my mother, I always check out whats going on at Harlows. So far they are batting 1000. I saw Brown Out/Brown Sabbath. 99.9 percent of Sacramento missed out on one of the best shows I have seen ever as they rocked the crowd with Black Sabbath covers with a Latin twist. Average White Band was stellar, and The Iguanas were superb. Ticket prices and beer prices great value for the shows I have seen.
Nice club with good acoustics and views of the onstage performers. I wouldnt go back just for the food, but its not bad for the price when youre watching a show there. The kitchen did have trouble getting our four-person tables orders right, but having worked in restaurants myself, Ill give them the benefit of the doubt. Anyone can have a bad night, and the waitress mentioned they didnt have a head chef that evening. I looked up the owner/manager? online and he has a long history in the entertainment and club business here in Sacramento, and seems to know what hes doing and knows a lot of local talent. Looking forward to going back soon.
I appreciate them checking vaccination status at the door, for everyones safety! Employees are nice and the venue seems well-run. Ill be back for future events and club nights, for sure!
Harlows is one of the best, if not the best, small live music venue. May 9, 2019, featured Savoy Brown, the best British Blues band. Tommy Odetto opened for Savoy Brown and is a great guitarist in his own right. The menu has a nice variety. My favorite is the Jean Harlow burger. Nice selection of brews on draft. Full bar available! Check on the music at this great venue.
Went for a concert. Great venue, friendly staff. Volume was way too high, too much treble.
Great place to see bands!
This is such a fun venue! The artists they feature are always a great time, great bar service, and good food too
Great community spot with an eclectic variety of shows and events. The space, with two separate venues, a large bar, and a great patio, means youll find a good space for your night and needs.
R and B night was so fun.
Absolutely awesome venue. You really get up and personal with the band. The drinks are reasonably priced and the food is good it can be romantic and a good place for a date. Dont forget to check the back patio.
We went to see Mike Love. It was a great show and Harlows was a nice personal venue. Youre able to get up close to the stage which makes it feel communal. We had a wonderful time and will definitely try another show.
This place was very run down looking I felt like I was at mens club. Stage was very small and the place is not designed to accommodate all styles of music. Security was kicking people out for smoking (which is understandable but kicking someone out? Little harsh) they kicked main artist out. Terrible terrible experience. Save your money for the ace of spades!
We went with a group of friends to watch a band play. The seating was extremely limited and the show started about 2 hour later than advertised on the tickets. It was quite uncomfortable standing for that long to include the duration of the event. The band was good and the bartenders were nice servers, so that sort of made up for it.However, the security staff is unprofessional and unpleasant to deal with. After the event we wanted to stay and have a drink, so we waited in line to get into their nightclub which is through a different door. Once we gave the bouncer our ID he denied us entry because my husband was wearing Jordans and said no athletic wear was allowed. I pointed out the guy in front of us had Adidas tennis shoes and the bouncer said Adidas, Chucks or Vans were allowed. We didnt want to make a scene so went to sit on a bench a few feet away to call our Uber. Minutes later another guy with similar Jordans as my husband went up with a group of friends and was allowed entry. At that point I went over to confront them about the discrimination happening against us, because the bouncers were the same race as both individuals they let in with the athletic shoes and we were a different race. I asked to speak to a manager to explain what we had experienced with the discrimination and we were refused the opportunity to speak to the manager. I have more to share about this situation as well as a short video I was able to capture. I cant believe how they mistreated us and the lack of fairly enforcing the dress code standard across the board.
A very modern atmosphere ... and yet, a very downhome vibe!I dont know how they did it, but this place is awesome. Everybody was easy to talk to and friendly. Professional staff.I was very impressed. We need more places like THIS!Oh! Ps. & btw:A very cool and intimate place for showcasing Blues!Im looking forward to going back, and would recommend this place for Musicians and Music Lovers alike. This place is going to be pretty hot, in terms of touring acts, BOTH big and small name bands. They cover the whole spectrum. All Aces!
Nice lil club! Celebrated T-Swift bday with a bunch of Swifties!! So much fun
Best club for live music in Sacramento.
Pretty cool place. Preforming there was fun. Would recommend
So much potential but the sound was painfully bad. I was glad to see some Bay Area jam bands start coming to this venue, but both bands Ive seen sounded terrible here. The sound mix is all wrong - couldnt hear the guitars because there was so much bass. Most of the people in my group had to wear ear plugs. I hate wearing ear plugs but couldnt stand the noise level without them. What a shame, because otherwise the venue is great - funky decor, comfortable outdoor courtyard, good drinks, and clean bathrooms!
The Starlet room above Harlows. It has its own street entrance, bathrooms, a bar and some seating
This venue is compact but comfortable, theres ample parking in front of the venue well as round the park across the street. Its pretty clean and the staff is helpful. Would come back here next time
I love coming here for shows. The entire staff is great.
Had my 60th birthday party there at the Star Light Lounge. Everything was wonderful!
Super Sunday visit for Skips Music Weekend Warriors showcase finale series. Loved it - totally lifted my spirits - great stage, friendly room - staff and crowd alike.Would recommend and glady visit again.
Fun event space! Very spacious and clean inside. Plenty of fresh air flowing through which is important for large groups watching live shows. Friendly staff and centrally located.
Fun place for any venue. Great atmosphere and people.
Good time overall, saw some punk rock bands on a Monday night, cant complain. Good bar too!
I think Harlows has the best music shows in all of Sacramento. The best atmosphere, the best performances, and its just a fun spot to hang out.
This is the best nightclub in the Greater Sacramento Metro Area bar none! I realize that both the Ace of Spades and the Broadwalk are both equally awesome in different ways, though I make a distinction between a nightclub and a music venue. Hands down they are the best at what I consider music clubs that do not cater so much the more comfortability-conscious fans, as does Harlows upstairs bar, lounge, and so-called dance floor, gleefully termed, The Starlet that brings to mind a couple of other places, such as the newer Holy Diver and the more traditional Fox and Goose, as well as Old Ironsides, Blue Lamp, Press Club, and 815 L. I havent even talked about how good the food is at Harlows, including mushroom tacos, street-sized but tasty, pretzels with cheese, salt and jalapenos baked inside the crust, and LOADED fries. As this is what my wife and I had to share tonight, along with an IPNA (non-alcoholic, less than.05% ABV), and cranberry vodka martini, I stand by my original statement!
First the event I went to was sold out but they let more people in anyway. By then it was standing room only and there wasnt enough room to do that without being in someones way. No handicap seating either. Wont be going back.
I had a nice time at Harlows for the DJ Quik concert. The staff was friendly .All except for a certain bouncer/security guard who was rudely grabbing and shoving people off stage who were invited to take pictures. Thats the reason for 4 out of 5 stars .Everything else was cool but ,I dont appreciate being shoved .
Not a bad Friday night experience. 2 DJs tonight playing current hits and a sprinkle of hip-hop. Mixed crowd no beef. With clean bathrooms and a great ambiance. Ill return..
Nice music venue where youre close to the band. The crowd is usually diverse and the dance floor is often bumpin. Good drinks and the bar has a great backdrop
I purchased tickets to see Rakim back in May of 2021 for concert in mid August. We had time to invite our friends from out of state to come and see the show together. 3 days before the event the show is cancelled without any information or updates. Nothing on their twitter or website and can’t get a hold of them. Very disappointing.
Got there when place opened an hour before the band was set to play. They didnt have all the chairs out and when we asked we were rejected chairs but they brought chairs out for others. Had to stand the entire show. Not sure why the discrimination but wont be going back ever.
El debarge was amazing as usual its a small intimate event they did not have the air conditioner on and I ended up catching covid
Exceptional venue. Staff regularly goes abive-and beyond, bartenders are pleasant and helpful, place is clean, great medium size, killer patio out back, even security is direct yet polite.
Arrived an hour early to see the James Hunter 6, apparently promoted by Swell Productions, only to find every seat either taken or reserved --80% of their available seats were reserved --and about 40 folks standing because there was nowhere to sit. After a drink we got tired of standing and took a chance and moved into some of the many still empty reserved/VIP seats. For the record, there was no mention of, or option to buy, anything but general admission tix when we bought them 2 months earlier, so we had every right, at the very least, to expect seating on a first come first served basis. Well, pretty quickly a man and woman arrived and demanded we vacate the seats immediately. When we asked how any music venue could sell 2 or 3 times as many tickets as seats, both insisted they hadnt done so. When I asked the man to take a look at the room, he did and then just smiled, shrugged, and said we still had to leave. And, we couldnt stay until the VIPs arrived. Some of the other evicted couples gave up and actually went and sat on the stage. We knew there was no way we were going to make it through 3 hours of standing or dancing --the opening act was still 30 minutes away --so we decided to try to get our money back. The guy at the door politely took my information, said he completely understood, and though he couldnt guarantee anything, he assured me hed call the next day. No call, and were out the cost of tix and handling fee. Harlows is a music venue, so how do they get away with not providing a seat for every ticket purchased in good faith? If they are just a dance club, say so. At the very least, they should be required to post no seat guaranteed when you purchase a ticket.Color us angry and 85 bucks poorer. My only consolation is that Harlows and Swell Productions should provide good fodder for my business ethics unit.
Horrible service, bouncer and owner went out of their way to kick several people out and not refund their tickets. Bouncer said he saw my girlfriend taking a drink of something before she tried to go inside so she couldnt go into the show, I tried asking why and the owner came outside saying we were drinking in public and its illegal, I asked if he was a cop and he dismissed me completely and wouldnt let me in either, when I wasnt even drinking. People drink alcohol at concerts, Ive been to dozens and never been kicked out for something so trivial. Dont go to harlows expecting a fun show or youll probably be tossed out
We love this place, and we love our bartenders. Tonight, some butt was causing a fuss and saying he was gunna leave a bad review cause he had a problem with his check, wich was delt with and corrected. He still made a scene and could not be talked to. Which is why I am leaving a review. Please remember there are a lot of sad cry babies out there using Google and Yelp. This place is one of the best bars in downtown Sacramento and an excellent venue. If we are going to Harlows we are going to have a good time, no questions asked.
Favorite venue Ive been to, seen about 8 or 9 shows here.
Great space with a wonderful outdoor seating area. Acoustics could be better but theres really nothing like seeing a show with the band basically on the dance floor.
Loved the service and the drinks. The bartenders were very polite and fast making the drinks. I went there with some friends to go dancing and hang out. I loved that they had an outdoor area that was a little more low key with some nice tables and an outdoor bar. I honestly had no complaints about finding seat like some of the other reviews. I might have just gotten lucky, but I found enough seats for our huge group of friends as soon as we got in. There were two bartenders that were exceptional with there service and there drinks. The first was named josh, he was working at the bar inside; and the other , named camille, was manning the outdoor bar. They both gave great drink suggestions and there friendly attitude made me feel great for choosing to go to harlows that night. I had a great time with my friends here and will be going back . I unfortunately lost my keys that night and the staff at harlows were extremely helpful in helping me look for my keys. I didnt find them, sadly, but I was great that the whole staff helped me look for them. I just wanted to share my wonderful experience at harlows hoping it will bring more people in to this great place.
Went to see Maggie Rose , our ears were completely blown out by the 2nd song of the opening band for , can you believe it Maggie Rose ? the hell you say would be a natural thought but nope : ( sound level went from a low cocktail lounge to turn it up to 11 by the 3rd song of opening , push all the gains and crank the volume no tone fluctuation tons of distortion and just raw hiss with nowhere left to go like youd expect from an opening band for a Motley Crue show and the opener was there to build it up to then listen to Maggie Rose ? we left didnt get to see Maggie Rose 😒#earstillringin
Great place to see live music, much more intimate, and the sound is solid.
This was a great place to go I got to see Jimmy door the 1st time there there last week and it was great the foods great the chefs are great and the customer service was awesome the people at work there are wonderful I will Im going to go there more often now that Now that Ive experienced it and I wanna see and I want to say thank you to the cooks for making me a chocolate chip cookie Im the guy that ordered the snickerdoodles and you were sweet enough since you were out to make me the chocolate chip cookie frechip cookie fresh and I have to say those Id like to say those women poppy seed cookies are the bomb you have to try those when you go there they are wonderful I love this place I am Going to go there more now that I know of Harlows it is an amazing place for really wonderful people
I love the small venue and variety of performers. However, Harlows shows so many signs of neglect. From the massive amount of spider webs between the front window and back of seat stand, the horrible smell from the lounges/couches, to the outdated and worn interior. The wait staff is also very disorganized and inconsistent.
Part of the room was too dark for the event. The food was good. Would have been better hot.
Good food, beer, and service! Great place to see a lesser known band or music artist.
Great place for live music. By the way, Will Kimbrough is coming here from Nashville on Feb. 24. Hes a great folk Americana musician, one of my personal favorites! Check him out!
Drinks, service, acoustics are all great, but Harlows needs to get away from Ticketfly for selling tickets online. They are too expensive and there are better, more affordable ticketing services out there that deserve this local businesss attention.
Nice live music venue. Good location, friendly and helpful staff (door and bar). Intimate setting for live music, I will be back - had a great time.
Decent venue. Cool to be so close to the performance. Sound could be better. Always have a good time there though. Nice outdoor lounge area
Had a great time! Music was awesome. Seating was kinda of weird. But they are remodeling, hopefully they will fix that.
I have attended shows, produced shows and performed in shows at Harlows and their upstairs location, Momos Lounge. Its a great venue in Sacramento. For watching shows, both Harlows and Momos are small enough to offer intimate venue feelings. Harlows is larger and can make a show feel packed and fabulously energetic with a good turn out and good crowd.Momos works for smaller shows and is definitely a more intimate feel.I hosted a private birthday party at Momos. I found the staff and special events planner great to work with. The price was outstanding! And the food is good.As a performer at both Harlows and Momos I find the venues easy to navigate, the sound is pretty good and there is plenty of space to perform. I have done comedy at Momos and when the bands sound check downstairs it can be distracting. With the recent retrofitting, this problem seems to have been minimized. The one big drawback to Harlows is parking. Like all of midtown, City Council has declared war on decent parking. Most of the parking is on the street, and now many of the meters go to 10 PM. When I have parked on J street, my car has been sideswiped and when I park on the side streets, it has been broken into. The parking situation has seriously dampened my attendance at Harlows events. Hopefully they will get this figured out, but for now, take a car service if you have a show.
Its a nice bar, but Im tired of the same old cover bands every weekend. How many times can you watch a Journey tribute band play the same 25 songs over & over? Same thing with the same old 3 disco bands that play there every other week. Get some variety in there, wouldya?
Goodtimes! Small concert venue experience is hard to beat. We chose an 18 and over show so my daughter could enjoy the show as well.
My go to spot for good music in Sacramento. Its the last place standing since my Sac State days and its still going strong, Great music, Momo is great for DJ, cool decor, nice stage and room for listening to live music and good drinks. What more could you want? Reasonable cover too.
Live music is the only way to go!! Mick Martin & The Blues tore up the place!!! No one could sit still!!!! 🎺🎸🎹🎶🎷🎷 Fantastical!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Best venue in Sac. They draw amazing talent and their promoters work super hard, especially Brian McKenna w/ Abstract Entertainment.
Dont hesitate seeing your favorite band here. The sound crew is awesome!
The musical acts here are typically great. The venue is intimate, and the staff is cool (once you get past the bouncer at the door)!
Theres alot of people who cant get vaccinated. A negative covid test should be enough. I would like to support your business but you got to understand we are not all the same.
Went to Emo Night and it was a blast, loved that there were some chairs to get a break every once in a while! Bar was also great 👍
Came here to watch a concert. It was a small venue but great bands and great atmosphere.
Loved this place. Just the right size and the atmosphere is great. Drink prices are decent
If you want to have some fun and listen to some different types of music this is the place to go. Had a great time.
Grat vibe
This was my first visit to Harlows. Blues music every Wednesday 6:30 to 9:30. Full bar service and food available. Definitely going back.
The venue was nice and cozy. However, food/drinks service was slow, the food itself was ordinary, and the seats were uncomfortable.
Midnight players lit the dance floor, Harlows should most definitely have them back, the bartending on the other hand, very displeased with their service and the way they pour their drinks, I ordered vodka and 7up all night dropped over $200.... I walked out of there more sober than I walked in.. Basically drink 7 up all night . I asked one of the bartenders David to repore one drink and he simply said no, I figured I was owed at least one decent drink if I spent over $200 .. If you are going to order drinks there, order beer... THEIR BARTENDING TECHNIQUES ARE A DISGRACE TO THE BUSINESS. ... They should be fired and rehired at Chuck E Cheese
I was here for vampire ball and I love the venue here with the multiple stages, bars, and patio area really make it a great place to hangout.
One of the premier places in Sacra for live music
I was here for an event that was held upstairs. The atmosphere was great.
