1st time here. We came on a thursday for Latin night. Maybe 16 of us in the whole establishment. I would have given it more stars if not for the restrooms. The staff from the door was amazing. Very nice and attentive. Bartender was very nice also. We had to walk to the bar to place orders no one came to us even though it was not busy. Music was nice and mixed. But honestly someone needs to watch those bathrooms. I just held it all night till I got home. Very disappointing. Please have someone to just check bathrooms. And some more light in them.
My guy and I went to Dj Qua party at Perle Club. The bouncers was friendly and respectful. The line moved quickly. Once inside the clubs ambiance was very cool with people dancing and having a good time. The music was awesome and the Djs did not disappoint. The wait staff was very nice and accommodating. A few issues is the parking. its very hard to find parking on the street therefore you have to pay to park. Our second issue was, we ordered and paid for food only to find out after 45 minutes of waiting for the food that the kitchen was closed. Therefore we waited and we did not receive no food. The manager refunded us but it was disappointing that we waited so long and did not eat due to miscommunication. I would definitely go back but I just wont order the food.
Went to a Halloween party this past weekend and had a great time with the exception of one particular bartender Jean! I ordered two old fashion and he poured out one cup under and the other cup only halfway i asked him to fix it and give me correct amount pour for each he said what you want me to do I said make more and he looked at me and just poured water in both ….I was so upset since I am paying for these drinks! For rest of night I went to another bar and complained to the waitress and she said yeah he is a jerk! Owners need to look into it this guys honestly I wouldn’t come back just because of him since he messed up the rest of evening with his attitude and paying for two drinks which was more like one!
Literally the biggest let down ever. I was disrespected at the door, after regularly coming for months. Save your money- the place has zero ventilation, bartenders that overcharge-literally mystery drinks on my bill- and then when I had reservation tickets they tried to charge me full price at the door after I waited for over half an hour they literally pushed people back to the 10:32 mark- they have officially lost my business forever.
Most people don’t read full reviews so I’m happy to add the positive feedback first then move to constructive criticism. This was our first time in New Brunswick and was thrilled to be a guest after viewing your website and viewing photos. My first impression was impressed by the set up of the club with plenty of seating which most clubs fail add. You have a loungey / club feel which I think is pretty awesome and applaud whoever designed the layout. The sound system was actually quite beautiful. Nice crisp sound that was adjusted just right. This is obviously a DJ that knows the system well and has a great ear for it it’s just unfortunate that I didn’t have the opportunity to hear it during a prime hour. With sound comes lighting. You have a pretty decent lighting system. I’ve been in many clubs with the same lights and it just looks awful with them on auto the entire night. It’s a shame. I have the same lights in my home and I have to say a lighting tec in the dj booth makes a world of difference to the atmosphere of the club. It just pulls it all together. Just a suggestion. The bartenders were friendly and very easy on the eyes that would make anyone want to come back.NOW THE NEGATIVE and I’m sorry to write this publicly but I was really disappointed and wound up leaving before I finished my cocktail.I arrived at 10:45pm. At this time a club or should I say this club should be just about to settle in with patrons just getting their buzz on and with a pretty decent dance floor. The bartenders should already start to get into the groove with a steady flow of guests and DJ turning up the volume and getting a feel of the dance floor but instead it was the exact opposite. Music was off, bartenders cleaning up and a nonexistent dance floor. People were being rushed out the door.It was clear that a private event just ended. It’s great that a corporate organization rented out the space. It’s great for business and I understand that but what I don’t understand is ending an event so late in the night and attempting to reopen at 11:15 and still charge a cover.Apparently $10 is unheard of for this establishment, I heard from a bouncer. By the time I walked back into the club I was wanting a club “feel” for that time of night and not a 9pm club feel. I wasn’t in the mood to wait around for the club to pick up if it ever did. I already drove an hour to get there and would up driving an hour back to Newark in the pouring rain and luckily I found a spot that was at its prime. It’s unfortunate that I had 45 minutes to enjoy it.What I am suggesting is if a event wants it late then allow them or suggest to rent it out for the night or end it at at a more reasonable time like 9:30 then 30 minutes to flip the room and reopen.Just a suggestion.Maybe next time I am in the area I’d stop in again. I’d really like to see it at its best.Good luck 👍🏻
A $50 cover because we weren’t dressed for their event. Ruined my birthday bar crawl 😒 if you come you better be dressed “rich” enough for their “aesthetic”
This place is horrible it’s not how it use to be. Server took our card and Oder all we order was chicken that’s it. Never received our food. I told them after a good 3 hours of waiting I told them to cancel our older. The worst part about it is that the waiter took our card and never brought it back. Then gonna ask us do we remember who. No we don’t y’all had like a million people coming to our table and plus when y’all take someone card y’all need to put it in a set place. Where the manager know where it is. Then at the end of the night I saw the security’s mess up a guy face. Completely was mess up. Sorry I don’t recommend anyone to go here it’s a horrible place and cocky security guards.
Was here as part of the Hub City Jazz festival, excellent location for the event. Spacious and temperature was Great for the large crowd. The bathroom was dim, had red lights which made it hard to see and the ladies restroom was in a remote area.
Best night club outside of NYC! Go to Perle with friends and to entertain customers for work. Great music, atmosphere and most importantly drinks. Would definitely recommend to anyone in NJ looking for a fun night out.
Theres only 2 bartenders. I paid for an area for 20 people. Dont know why I had too because random people would were just coming up ,sitting a tables then leave. No one to check and make sure that you belonged there. Music was controlled by whoever bought the most bottles. Asked the dj to play a little house ,hip hop, or reggae and was told that he usually does but was told to cater to the other group. I feel like time and money was wasted. Bartenders were nice and experienced though. Was there to check out how they move because we have 10 other parties we are doing but probably will not be there. Also no one in my party had their ID checked.
Cocktails are decent but overpriced. The dj played a selection of hip hop, salsa, old school and a little bit of afro beats. Not a fan of the cover charge given the not so amazing ambiance and the low number of people present on a saturday night.
Ambience was great. I have been living in a area for nearly 7 years and never stepped foot in here until last weekend. It was not crowded even tho it was on a Saturday. Good music and everyone was friendly. Will definitely return.
My wife booked the entire place on my 40th Birthday. This is an awesome place, very accomodating, very nice staff, great to talk..Good bar, excellent DJ and music. Overall if you have a large gathering for 50+ people, speak to them and they will get you everything you need.....Thanks for making my 40th Birthday special!
The music was good, not the best switchs between songs. The crowd was fairly okay a mix of young and older 30s maybe 40s. Drinks are fairly priced and taste ok. The staff are good and very friendly. Security is a joke inside; texted all night- but maybe because there were only 35 people tops and I think my crew was half the crowd. Definitely needs some better marketing to bring in the crowd, has potential. Otherwise I wouldnt waste my 20 bucks to get in often.
Excellent music, friendly staff, and a great dance vibe! The swanky, multiple rooms offer a delightful ambiance throughout the club and their Latin Thursdays are a lot of fun with friends.New menu options available now as well that are delicious and the bartenders are always on point with their picks if youre looking to try something new!
Maybe 30 people including us in the whole spot on a Friday. $20 cover for men, $10 for women. Drinks very expensive $14 for a Ciroc and ginger first round, then $15-$16 per drink depending on bartender. They think theyre in NYC. Clearly for college kids as its on the Rutgers campus, which I didnt know going there. What I did appreciate is all the 90s and 2000s music they played, which appealed to an older crowd like me, even though there was only about 5 people over 40 in there. Mandatory coat check but the coat check girl was everything! So sweet and friendly. Overall a nice time without a huge crowd for covid, but I was looking for a more popping, crowded, more current music place. This was not it. Oh and there was clearly a smell of vomit or mold or chocha in there. Definitely reminded me of places I went while in college; not somewhere Id go now in this stage of life in my red bottoms. I could have worn jeans and sneakers.
HelloMy friends and I reserved a section for new years eve and when we arrived, the section was occupied by other patrons and was dirty (trash on the table, water/drinks on the floor and the reserved sign covered by debris left by other individuals). We were taken to coat check, and has to wait and pay additional for that, and then had to ask someone to find out where out section was and take us over there. We put in the order for the bottles days before and the waitress took more than 30 minutes to bring them over. We asked to speak with a manager multiple times to discuss the issues we saw when we got there, and it was 30 minutes to an hour before someone arrived. All they were able to do was comp one bottle of champagne and wipe the floor. The waitress barely came into the section to get additional drink orders and check on us. We had to frequently go to the bar to get additional drinks. When she did come back and we ordered one additional bottle of champagne, she tried to charge us again for all 5 bottles and brought security as well. This issue had to be cleared up with a separate waitress. Other patrons kept sitting on the couches next to us and multiple people fell on top of us and even tried to argue with us regarding not being able to sit in our section. The other VIP area was roped off and regulated, however, ours was not and presented to be more of a nuisance and we tried to make the best of it. And on top of bottle service and drinks we paid the $55 cover for new years. The customer service experience was horrible, and we had friends come in from out of town to enjoy the night but spent most of it waiting for drinks, coats, asking people to leave our section and having to argue about whether or not our bill was paid, which it was done in full and in cash.
This place is Meh! Ok Djs its a hit or miss Music mixing is all over the place speakers need to be upgraded friendly staff good crowd drinks could be better. We made the best of our time.
The crowd was a little lacking, especially for a Saturday night. $20 cover is a little steep plus the drinks are a bit high for the area. The music was good and the wait staff was pushing the bottle service real hard. All in all, it was just an average night out.
If you are a college student - DO NOT GO TO PERLE. It is a venue for old 30 year olds. My friends and I went on a Thursday night and it was empty with just a bunch of 30+ year olds tryna dance with us. It was not a good experience and about 10 minute into entering the club we left. It was a horrible experience and my friends and I decided to hit up bars after, which should have been our plan in the first place. All in all, perle is NOT a venue for college students. Drinks are overpriced, music is horrible, and my friends and I had a horrible night.
This is my first time coming to Perlé and it was a disappointment. Our server must have been new because she took my friend’s order and didn’t take mine… and we were sitting together! We were supposed to get 2 glasses of champagne… when we got the first glass it was extremely warm… not good. We NEVER received our 2nd glass.By the time the server came to take my order I just wrote it down and she read it. My order came and my friend who ordered TWENTY minutes before I did got her order almost THRTY minutes after I did!Very shoddy so no, I have no plans to come back here. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS KEY!!!
Funk Flex last night was hella boring. I would not pay $30 to get in and $50 minimum at the table just because hes DJ-ing the event. The DJ before him was actually way better. I didnt see what was so special about Flex lol.
$20 cover and its completely dead inside, 1 trash dj and a bar with nothing but some Coronas and budlights. Dont waste time or money coming here.
Has to be the worst Latin night place in the state. Dont ever come here for Latin night, you will regret it. They charge close to $20 for both men and woman, which is fine if the place is good, but then you go inside and theres about 10 people in the whole place. Management needs to Seriously change up the DJ and promoter, so much potential here yet its always a disappointment
For a club in NJ, Perle is really good! I went on a Friday and the music was great, the sound system is perfect with plenty of bass and the crowed was ethnically mixed. The bartenders and the bouncers were cool with me. As far as some people saying the staff was rude, the female bartenders probably dont want to seem too friendly because then they will get hit on by every drunk patron there. I dont know, I dont expect everyone to kiss my butt just because I paid a cover charge.
Music was good. Floor was really dirty. Food was disappointing average, cold and overcooked. I also have never been to an event or venue that considered jack daniel to be top shelf. Ordered a jack and Coke at an open bar and that was the response I got.
I like Perle, and I recently celebrated my birthday there. I called the day before my birthday to ensure my party and I would have a table. When we arrived at Perle, not only did we have a table, as promised, but I was offered a free bottle of champagne to celebrate my birthday! Each time I go, staff is always courteous, the bouncers are nice, and the drinks are great! More clubs/lounges need to be like this place.
Used to be a bigger club that was fun a long time ago. Its been terrible ever since the owner switched the name to Perle and made it smaller. The place is ignored and its run terribly because the owner, P, has been busy chasing the ladies for years. Wonder if LA ever knew? I know because I turned him down when I was a customer and he tried to bring me in his office. Gross! I also knew friends of theirs who didnt say no. One girl bragged about being at their wedding. I doubt K e rri goes there anymore tho. Dont waste your time. Its sucked for years!
Hi ive been coming to this establishment for a long timebut this time they went too far they have no signs that say no re entry and they epecting me to pay again.i was beyond upset i honestly dont think i will ever come again. and i will tell all my friends about this.this is no way to treat your loyal regular customers
Chill place with good music. They usually play hip hop and R&B, contrary to other locations in New Brunswick. Not the biggest lounge but good enough for a great night out with friends.
Nice place to dance some Latin music. People are nice and tend to be well dressed. People are also good dancers here!!! DJ could have been way better the night I went but I still had a great time.
Good lay out and ok staff. Fun to go with people you already know if you’re looking to dance and have a good time.Music though is usually only ok. Whenever they start to play anything that the crowd starts to vibe to it’s usually changed immediately to something with bullhorns and confusing beats. Wish they would get better dj’s!
Had a great time dancing with our friends! Would definitely go back for another night out! So much space to pick from.
I was in the night club about to week ago and one of the security guards attack me for for a hat. in my opinion their was no reason for the security to guard to attack me especially when I am at the location expending money to pay his hours of work. they have to be their to protect the customer not to attack the customer for any non mayor issue. I will never go back to parle nightclub.
They open club at 11-11.30pm and close music at 1.45 am bar at 2pm ..really ? Club supposed to be open at least till 3PM. Crowd is always decent. Drinks $8+ tip not bad ..
I went last night and would come back. I enjoyed myself. The staff was very friendly except 1 bartender. She had an attitude. I didnt know what her problem was. She bumped into me instead of saying sorry she became a b_____. Maybe bcz it was her nasty nappy hair.
Thursday night is Latin night, and may I be the first German-Polish man to say... I love Latin Thursdays at Perle. Attentive bartenders. Great DJ mix. And friendly, gregarious patrons dancing up a storm on the floor.
The place sucks. Waste of time and money. Please have some decent music to attract some decent crowd.
Might be good for kids and students.Just got a headache, as music was not in my zone, so may be that is the reason.Hardly found many enjoying it..
Overhyped dance bar in Brunswick. They charge for anything and everything. You cant wear jackets inside the bar, 2 bucks to keep your jacket there and 15 bucks for entry! Music was good, worth going if you dont want to drink and party far off in Phili or City!
Went last night with my girls... couple creepers but thats but unusual... great atmosphere, awsome bartenders and drinks made strong.... bathrooms were clean and staff were great... definitely going back for another girls night
Latin Twist Thursdays Are my favorite. 9pm dance class with 2 great instructors and plenty of “liquid courage” to dance the night away to salsa, bachata and merengue.
Every time ive gone up there, i have a great time . We go on Thursdays, their salsa night, with DJ Dany Joshua. The entire staff is inviting, and courteous. Just an awesome time all the way around.
My son was assaulted at this night club tonight 10/21/22 at this club by 5 white security guards, he was rush to er by daughter at 3:30 am to st Peters hospital because of his injuries they broke both his hands and nose, he has to have surgery, what security attack you when you leaving out of club, apparently this one😡 my son was attack earlier in the inside by another customer who punch 👊 my son 2 times for spilling my son drink on him, no one should ever not feel unsafe at a night club and the security guards need to have charges against all 5, this night club needs to close forever, sincerely a hurt mother, by any means necessary I will seek justice ⚖ for my son✍️🏾💯🤷🏿♀️
Very disappointed!!If you are looking for a real “Latin Night” don’t go to this place on Thursdays!!!Bad music and ambiance...Ps. Salsa clases at 9pm were the ONLY good feature of the place.Visited on 11/07/2018
Used to meet there for church on Sundays. Great place, loved it. Always a little surreal to have childrens Sunday school in a VIP room with a fully stocked bar, but no bad memories about Perle.
Don’t buy tickets online 😂 bc their last party I went to the cops told us we couldn’t go in and it was 10:30. The cops forced everyone to leave soo I couldn’t talk to an associate and we couldn’t get a refund 🤷🏽♀️ 100 dollars wasted
I enjoy dancing in a bar and watch basketball game while taking a break from dancing, or vise versa. So i went to Perle to dance one night and ask the bar girl to turn on the TV so I can watch the game. She told me it is not a sports bar and the boss do not give them the permission to turn on the TV. You need a permission to turn the TV on for your customer? Are you try to cut down utility bill? Then what the hell for hanging 2 flat screens in the bar? decoration? I just dont get it.
More staff then people there. Music was not for me. We left immediately, I could not get refunded. I feel robbed.
Had a good time. Drinks good price. Music good. It was ladies night so we got it no cover. Wish it stayed open later.
Went there for after party. Looks great. However, the music wasnt good. Drinks tasted strange. And they charge you admission for nothing.
Second time here in two months and I love it . Great music and great vibe. I love to dance and this is the place to be.
Perle is a good great place with good music, good decent and maturity, but sometimes they need to check guys on their dress it should be presentable, and also More s Sexy juicy ladies should be invited more... it bring more cash men in the club.
Music Sucks!! Believe me, Im eager to dance and this doesnt let me do it, Dj stops every 30 seconds to start another song and he doesnt respect any genre, he goes from hip hop to reggaeton and then he comes back to hip hop 🤔 cover doesnt worth it, and drinks are too expensive 😏
Anyone from the area knows that this is the only night club in New Brunswick. Too bad it has low standards. If youre late twenties or older, looking to get away from the undergrad crowd, or use to the club scene in NYC, than this place is not for you.
They charge to get in which is fine but once you are inside you see about 5 people in. Bouncers are rude and so are the bartenders. Avoid this place if you are trying to have a good time.
Horrified by my experience here. Im a local doctor and I was apparently mistaken for someone else (another person of my race likely) and I was physically taken from the bar and removed from the premises by some brute. I strongly discourage anyone except, perhaps, skin head types from attending.
The atmosphere was great but the dj the night I was there wasnt good the drinks were very good
Will not ever go there again. You get a bottle expecting you paying one price..then they add all these extra charges without you knowing it. When you try to contact them to get a break down of the charges they won’t respond.
Not worth.they charge $30 each.complete waste of money.bad crowd.worst music.
A rather odd place - not recommended. The staff members remind me of the corrections officers at the juvenile detention center where I used to teach. There is a constant uneasiness to the place.
I come here pretty often the drinks and music is almost always great. Service can be a bit slow.
If you don’t come with a group of girls you won’t have fun . But other than that the club is pretty decent service and appearance wise .
Music was dated, drinks were high and there is a cover charge. But, otherwise decent.
Music wasnt good, I forgot my license but had a photo copy of my license, I had to pay $20 extra (apart from the cover charge). First experience of bribe in the US.
I love coming here for their thursday salsa night. they have a class at 9 or 10 and then its all latin dance night!
Services was good. Bartenders were awesome but the place needs a lot of work to consider it for a club
Very creepy clientele, expensive, and we will never be going back to this poor excuse for a nightclub.
We have been going to Perle night club for some years now and we love it!! Cant wait to go back!
Really nice lounge. Very mixed crowd which I liked. 👌
Had a great first experience here. Staff were friendly, and the service was quick.
Seems like they renovated a bit I like the new look... covid has been nice to them😆
Cover change of $10 if I sit two drinks minimum and pay for parking. Drinks $$$. Will not be going back
Beats are generally on point. i have only gone on Friday nights recently. Can get pretty packed sometimes, but usually not.
Mary I absolutely enjoyed my evening here! I cant wait to come visit you again!!!
Nice club and music, but public there are not that upscale.. I saw people coming in shorts and flip flops.
Very less crowd and hardly people come on dance floor.
Very nice and happening place. Nice music. Nice place to through a birthday party.
Great music, great vibes and impeccable service!
Nice adult crowd just no parking
Anti-intellectual bouncers who threaten you with violence for small infractions. It’s a club not a prison. Don’t go here.
Leanne is great to work with! A great place to host a social event!
The climax of a great hangout night, VIPd up
Best place to dance and learning salsa 💃
Cover charge keeps me away! I enjoy HOTOKE instead.
Great place to meet friends and get a little dance in.
I lost something there and called consecutively for two months and no one ever got back to me or picked up the phone.
Nice ambience, young crowd, good drinks.
This place was dead. Drinks were not all that great either.
Good music, rude bartenders, and no drink menu.
One of the best club n lounge in nb
Very nice place to enjoy with friends
This place is so bad. The stupid bouncers are so rude.
Good Place with not so good Sound system
Management sucks, go somewhere else.
Very rude staff, doesnt know how to treat customers
Entry fee and atmosphere is not that great
I sneezed and the bouncer asked me to leave
Junk, How is this place still open. I do not understand?!?!??!
If I could give this place negative stars I would, terrible!!!
Rude staff and expensive entry fee
