Fun light style club with super hip/pop music. Few bar tables but omg the dj playing tonight was mixing allll the songs together it was so fun!

Corrine the bartender was so nice and friendly! Bryan that works the Chicken and Waffles was also friendly! The food is amazing! We feasted while watching post season baseball. I can’t wait to go back!

Absolutely delicious food, great ppl, and a good vibe :) Come here all the time...couldnt ask for more. Good drinks good food good vibes? Yes please!!! Parking is a little challenging but worth the circles. Its a must try! ❤️❤️

This is a bar meant for dancing. Its very minalistic with loud music. The seating isnt comfortable but the drinks are good. The bar staff is there to tend to your drink needs. I personally like a place that is a little more comfortable which is why I rated it lower. If this is what your looking for, this place is perfect for you.

This venue is awesome if you like hood music and dancing. Great times even hanging out on the back patio and playing games and hanging out. There’s a lot to offer from this venue.

From the moment you walk in, you get hit with BO, cigarettes, and fabuloso. Although the ambiance is that of a dingy seven eleven, this place is stickier and underaged kids sneak in to be kicked out by a drunk patron. I wouldnt come back here if I got free drinks.

Came in on a Tuesday and to my surprise they were having a beer pong contest, it wasnt too crowded but Friday through Saturday the place gets really packed. $5 entrance if Im not mistaken over the weekend, great variety of craft beer and whiskey 10/10 would recommend if you dont want to go to downtown and have a chill night.

My favorite sports bar. Different food specials, including 1 dollar fish tacos on Mondays. Not small, and with great sauces. Good wings, great potato skins, but my favorite thing is the brunch burger. With Eggs, cheese, bacon, and avocado, its a breakfast sandwhich, and its the best one around.THE place to go for a UFC or boxing main event. Their $5-25 covers for such events ensure room even if you show up late, and their many TVs include a large projector.Outstanding beer and whisky selection: i know of few places with a wider beer selection AND wider whisky selection. They have Blue Moon!Two pool tables and food. Spacious bathroom.

The cover was only $5 on a Saturday night even though we arrived well past 10 pm. There was a lot of room on the dance floor and the music was great, with a blend of current and 2010s Latin music. There were a lot of club employees who were super nice and understanding. A few members of our group fell on the floor several times and not a single employee was rude to us. Overall, it was really fun & I would definitely return!

Came for the comedy and the Moms Chicken and waffles.

My girlfriends and I stepped in to enjoy live music and shoot a game of pool. We were told we had to buy drinks to stay which was fine but we only wanted soda. All three sodas were completely flat. We were firmly told that we would not be given a refund. We put money in the pool table and it only gave us two balls. They started taking the table apart to fix it. We were done.

Absolutely love this place! Great vibe along with some dope music being played. The bartenders are very attentive and drinks are great. Did I mention they have pool tables? Always a good spot to visit on Friday or Saturday night.

Terrible service. My family and I arrived ordered some food. I ordered some fries and they came out cold while everybody else food was hot. Mind you they got the food before me. The male bartender never washed his hands from making drinks. He was touching his face and nose. Then the female bartender was rushing us out of the way asking us to move cause people were trying to order drinks while we were still eating our food. I will not be going back.

At the bar 15 minutes and this girl with dreads walked away from me when I want to place my order. I went up after my sis was ignored. Straight up favoritism or idk. And btw I have to mention the music is wack playing east side boys and lil John like cmon bro change it up. Feel like dejavu. Go get lit somewhere else like Richs. Please save your time and memories on your special night.

Came for trivia on a Thursday. House margarita was $10 which was a little steep BUT the truffle fries are worth a stop. Especially during happy hour when they’re $2 off!

I love this bar. I go every weekend. Its my local go to. Has great vibes, great people, security is wonderful and if you get there early enough they have food. 10 out of 10 and would recommend

The outside patio is the best part of this venue, aside from the bartenders and door host, of course.

I dont really come here for the drinks (although they have some yummy looking cocktails which Ill get around to trying sometime). I come here for the burgers. They serve one of the best burgers Ive had anywhere. I was there on a Wednesday night happy hour for 50 cent wings, also perfect. Their fries are delicious as well.

Great dive-y kinda bar with sophisticated bartenders and selection of whiskeys and beers. Not sure about their wines but Ill check those out next time! Reggae Sunday nights are the best. Friendly vibe all around.

Solid, if pretty standard club atmosphere. Above average music. Reasonable prices on drinks for San Diego.Only big complaint is a few of the (contracted?) security guys were ruder than necessary. Gotta clear out the tables for more dance floor? Great! Just tell us so! Dont grab the table, point at the drink, glare, then roll your eyes. Lighten up dude.

Always something different throughout the week theme wise and great music on th weekends. Security are professional along with fast service.

I only went here for new years, so maybe its better on a normal night. But they dont serve food past 9 and they dont mention it anywhere to warn you so I had to leave and come back. The bar tenders were not great at cocktails, but they have a large beer selection. Everyone was nice, but not a great atmosphere.Again it might have just been because I went on new years that it seemed so bad. If I ever go back on a normal night I will update.

Great place to visit for a cheap drink and some dancing!

This place is a good place to have a good meal, and some in expensive drinks. I usually go during the day, so I cant speak for the night crowd, but I really enjoy it there.They have great specials, their service is amazing, and they have 2 pool tables. I like to go for their $4 burgers on Friday, amazing price! Delicious burger!!

When you 1st walk in it looks a little questionable but when you get to the back patio with the cabana style seating free games and mood lighting it gives a different warm welcoming vibe .

Cool place. I usually like coming here on Wednesdays for wings and trivia. However, the weekends are just as nice. The venue doesnt get too crowded and theres a pool table. The DJs tend to play a lot of throwbacks which is always good in my book.

Cool place had a good time on Sunday Reggae night. But do not order the liquor, a group of friends ordered two shots of milagro tequila each, it tasted like water. I have the same tequila at home I would know. Other than that I had a good time. But I will most likely not be returning I don’t approve of shady business practices.

When I go bar hoppin, I almost always end up here. Its a chill place. Out of the times I been here only once was there a little drama with some boys (kids). The music is good I just think the dj needs to better mix his songs. But I still have fun at this place. Prices are reasonable. Entrance fee is $5.

Well we are an older couple and we go almost 3 to 4 times a month.My husband is disabled and they treat him with respect and its comforting that all the service is excellent. From the bar all of the security are awesome especially Chris they look out for my husband that no one knocks him down because he can not walk very fast. The manager Aziz makes the bar so much fun and treats everyone with respect always.we come for the great music and the awesome service Aziz and his crew deserve to be known as one of the best bars in North park and I give them a ratings of 5 stars they really deserve 10 stars keep of the great work.

What I like about this place is its diversity. There is a different crowd inside U31 depending on the day of the week. If you like to dance, this is a nice casual spot to get your groove on. If youre into reggae, stop by on a Sunday night and enjoy the best reggae San Diego has to offer. Throughout the week they also offer live music from local indie artists, hip hop artists, and pretty much everything in between.

Good casual Bar/Club to enjoy with friends. Good drinks. Music varies on the Dj for the night. Reason why its only receiving 3 stars. The place is very outdated. And it could use more seating. The bar is small and in return crowded.

This place is absolutely amazing!!! Words will not do it justice...the truffle fries are out of this world and I also had a bacon, avocado cheeseburger that was orgasmic! Ive been telling everyone I see about going here to indulge! I want to give a heads up.

As one of the first clubs that’s are opening since COVID y’all are killing it. So far it’s my favorite club to go to. Friendly staff, fair prices, clean, great crowd, y’all even did some furnishing during COVID and opened up a back patio to chill at. As far as I’m concerned you guys checked off all the boxes. The dj was lame....he really needs to work on his transitions...and they wouldnt let me back inside..I was walking my friend out to her Uber and I had a stamp and everything..good thing i atleast had my phone on me so i can call my friend to give me my stuff ..the guy was soo rude too...if ur not gonna let me back In then dont charge a cover!

Immediately hit with a chemical smell when I walked in. Came in with some friends, and the bartender was sitting down behind the bar, sharing a scratch off with a customer. Multiple times he would leave the bar unattended. Just an awful, awful experience Ill never go back, until they sell

Go on Thursday. No cover charge and 4 dollar drinks. The $4 drinks are on a pretty limited menu, but none of the alcohol is well. Good music and plenty of open space, polite bartenders and guard staff.

2.5 stars. The only dance club in North Park open on Mondays. On the bright side, its all recognizable hip hop music that is fun and easy to party to. On the not-so-bright side, clubbing on Monday nights will definitely attract the weirdos. Dont come alone. Dont even come with one other person. This is a 3+ person requirement.Props to U-31 for keeping my credit card even after a 3 week no show!

The first two-hours of the night at U31 went without a hitch. Our server Kat was great. Unfortunately, the staff failed to properly facilitate the closure of the male and female restroom. As a result, a male employee began to berate me in the midst of me using the restroom. I was falsely accused of taking a sign down indicating the restroom was closed. Addition, this male employee made remarks about my lack of common sense. I questioned this employee as to why neither himself nor any other employee had taken the initiative to inform us as patrons that the restrooms were closed and that we could seek the use of the restrooms at another location. In addition, I had asked this employee why the restrooms had not been properly secured in accordance with City and County laws. This employee never provided an adequate response. Instead he chose to continue to berate and verbally attack me. Long story short I left the bar without incident. Ive sent an e-mail to the owner, Steve Billings, in which Im awaiting a response as I write this review. Additionally, Ive filed a complaint with the County of San Diego Health Department as to the improper closure of the restrooms. As I write this, the County has responded and will be sending a Health Inspector out to look the U31s employee practice concerning the maintenance of its restrooms. As a result of this incident and the subsequent poor handling by the staff concerning the closure of the restroom, I strongly recommend that you do not patronize this establishment. Thank you.

The Dj tonight, May23- the early morning of May24, was terrible!! He played music that would “hype” all the males but made the females turn the other cheek and leave. Not only was he terrible but even when he was advised to play music that would be more enjoyable by females, he refused and simply said that,”I know what I’m doing”, but this was clearly not the case. I’m not saying that there’s anything wrong with playing music that is more appealing for males but when there’s a ratio of female>male, it would be wise to play music that is appealing to both but in favor of the females. Overall, the experience was ok. Service was great and the vibe is fun but tonight’s dj definitely brought it down to something that was rather depressing and lead to evacuation of more than 50% of the club.

Great place for happy hour. The burgers are worth the stop. Plus James and Stella are great bartenders.This is a great sports bar, always willing to find the game you want to watch. 👍👍

Spacious, dancing, great bands BUT they SWARE they are in downtown. Drinks are overly priced! Lights are dimmed, music is loud and makes for some good times.

Went to check it out because of an eventbrite event run by cocktail city san deigo. Alien ant farm was the band playing and open bar was advertised. Tickets were free. This all sounded too good to be true. And surprise surprise it absolutely was. My group of friends and I show up an hour and a half before the show/open bar started. By that time the line was already wrapping around the building. Its really fun when they give out unlimited free tickets to a small limited occupancy building. The show should have just been a first come first serve experience. But they were solely out to trick a large crowd into showing up because it looks and reads better when talking about the show. It was a complete and utterly pointless waste of time. They probably had around 4x the place max capacity just in line. Then an employee came out and eventually said anyone past a certain point in line that you were basically not going to be able to get into the bar period. If you were lucky enough to get in before the open bar was over you got the great treat of cheap garbage beer and everyone stuffed in like sardines. If you got a free drink you were lucky. Two was a near impossible feat.. Just scummy tactics to get people in and worse, to make a big Lome outside the club like it was the place to be. These are the kind of tactics used by the worst kind of places. I wont be going to U31 again and cocktail city san diego is pure garbage. Avoid both like its a spoonful of super AIDS. Ill be sure to let everyone I know about the shady tactics both of these companies/establishments employ to try to trick people to come to their garbage bar and/or events. Just waste peoples time because you cant get a line a d packed bar the honest way. This review is coming from someone who got in and a free beer. I ended up leaving before alien ant farm started because of the principle of the matter. Went to a much nicer bar that doesnt need to trick and manipulate people to get them in the door or have people in a line outside to make it seem hip under false pretenses. Awful place run by jackoffs. You arent hip. You are just the annoying drunk desperate for attention.Recommendation = go anywhere else that does not do the shady underhand tactics

On a Sunday afternoon. ....The pool tables were free.The fajita nachos were the best Ive had in a very ling time.Mike the bartender was hands down amazing.When im in town I will be back

$5 cover on weekends and 91 cent drinks on Mondays. Thursday is Hip Hop night and Sunday is Reggae. Great place to come dance and have a good time.

Huge circular bouncer took my ID. Scanned it. Handed it back. Then as I was about to walk in stopped me, out his hands on my breast, and said he needed my ID?? Are you a doorknob? Im giving stars because the lady attending the bathroom was nice but I would not have gone in after that embarrassing touching if my friends had not gone in before me. They like to separate us idk why they encourage behavior like this. Another bouncer saw and laughed. Embarrassing

So you pull up and it looks more like a pub than a club, dark windows, tiny awning and alot of people posted up on the outside blasting cigs or waiting to get in. The doorway is cramped and usually has a gal jammed in the corner taking cover and stamping hands while a large fellow is checking IDs 3 feet away. A hard left and your in, but are usually surprised at how dark it is and how large it is.On a busy night just a few feet to the right and your at the bar corner waiting in line for a few minutes to get a drink. The bar area for the mixologists to work is large and unencumbered. They are flying around cracking tall boys and tearing through a bucket of ice in half an hour or so. Unlike most bars where the crown is less diverse the drinks they are ordering are very diverse. Most bartender have the well drinks within reach, but are going through certain bottles quick, but here they are going through their entire tray fast. All the while running back and forth for speciality bottles or top shelf. I personally think the bartending is mediocre, but they get the job done.If its a busy night the stage is packed with DJs and their entourage and the crowd is packed from stage to about the last support pillar with the only respite is the booths and the lounge in the back. No one really congregates anywhere else.Everything else is the same except on a slower night when you have about 1/3 of the people so you have more space, less riotous noise, but there is one thing i like is the change from day to day and the diversity as well as the drinks.You should all go there a few times a week to see the big differences from a Thursday to a Tuesday or a Sunday. Your opinion will probably stay the same and youll learn which U-31 night are you? Some of the other reviews are clearly a Sunday and others more a Tuesday while I myself an a Thursday.

Super friendly staff, yummy wingz and other food, great beer selection, $4 drink specials on Thursday nights and other nights I dont remember which nights. I hear Thursday nights are the BEST nights to go for the drink specials and great music.

Decent prices, sometimes good music, but it looks like they started making this place look cool and gave up when they realized they could make money because of the location anyway. Had issues with the staff pouring out my half-full drink and denying it more than once.

I went there 2-19-22 around 6pm and me and my girl ordered a strawberry mule and it was the worst drink it left both of us with are stomach hurting.. cant remember the young ladies name but will never let her make my drink again

Awesome atmosphere lots of tvs for sports. Food was great and a good value. The bartender Stella served a great pint of brew with a smile!

Thus place is one of the few hip hip spots left in San Diego, great djs no cover before 10. Very local flavor and great bartenders. Big bonus is a real dance floor and a photobooth

U-31 is definitely a party scene that draws different types of crowds depending on the acts performing on stage. Flat screens throughout add to the venues vibe, and pool tables in the back make for a chill place to hang out and enjoy a few drinks. Make it your one stop, or bar hop to the other amazing bars and venues that North Park has to offer.

For those still filled with the reggae spirit, I just called and no, they no longer and will no longer have reggae night. AND i heard it used to be the spot to go!!!:( leave a reply if you know an after hour spot or before spot for reggae and afro beat

So this was our last stop on the night of drunk in bachelorette party crawl. I was NOT impressed.We had a large party. We had bottle service reserved. They put us at a table in the middle if the room that sat maybe 6 people, 8 if you squeeeeeeeze. With it being so crowded, not only by our party but also the normal nights patrons, getting a drink was nearly impossible even from our own table. The dance floor was right next to us and we kept getting bumped into and pushed. The bride to be wanted to request a song so I tried to ask the dj who said that he didnt take requests... WTF kind of dj doesnt take requests??? Find a new dj serious. We asked our host who put the request in and we flipped the dj off while dancing to said requested song.It gits two stars for our host who was very nice, and for the fact we got drunk. That is all I can say about that.I wont spend my money here. It just isnt worth it one bit.

Always a party! Great DJs such as DJMANCAT spin on weekends! There is usually a cover but if you follow their page on FB you can get the code word to get it without paying a cover. There are also pool tables in the back for those who do not wish to dance but still listen to good music.

Nice little bar, the drinks are cheap but not that strong. Also, they play pretty good music. Went on a Monday night and it was pretty busy.

Great staff (their bartenders are only nice if u tip them...) but security g aurds there are very friendly, slic entertainment host live reggae bands, live art etc...on sundays...brews:left hand stout and lat33 ...strawberry mullle!

I went after 10pm and the cover was $5. Drinks are resonably oriced but the wait at the bar to get said drinks was almost 10 mins. Dancing space was good.

This place has have a renaissance per say. It used to be a ratchet club, now its a modern sport bar. Affordable strong drinks, big TV for them ppv fights, Sunday night 🏈 and the such.

Only time this place is hood to me is when Stella is working. She seems to be the bartender who knows how to work the whole bar no matter how full it is.Oh those Nachos r to good

I like this place because it caters towards a more diverse demographic and can get pretty popping on weekendsId give a higher rating but the bartender dude with long hair needs to learn how to wash his hands and stop throwing limes, straws, etc on the floor like hes in Vegas...cmon man its a Tuesday, theres only 6 people in the bar...

Surprisingly good food from U-31s I kitchen. This neighborhood dive bar also offers entertainment, including Tuesday night Beer Pong, and Sunday night Live Reggae Music.

Cute bar but overpriced drinks might be because I went on a Friday but the music was stuck in the 90’s lol which I didn’t really mind the 90’s were lit. The bouncer however well one of them the heavy set one extremely rude for no reason.

Paying that fee to get in to find out they had a little model show going on after the fact l. Turned right back around asked for money back and was told the show was supposed to be over already and would end soon which wasnt true. Usually like this place but nope not anymore biggest waste of money.

This is a great spot, when you pay attention to the calendar they host a variety of nights dont find yourself looking for a hip hop night and walk into edm. Good venue great vibes

This place is very casual very relaxed atmosphere cool people seem to work here cause theyre all laid back and helpful drinks are good , good amount of alcohol in them as well as flavor , they have food very regular bar snacks ! Over all cool spot to hang out

Lived in North Park for a year and I USED to go to this bar every Sunday for raggae night... Got turned down tonight by the bouncer at the door who accused me of using a fake ID!! Sooo... Apparently I cant get into my favorite bar anymore with my actual identification. Crazy. He wouldnt even look at all the other proof/info I was carrying in my wallet.

Its a place with a good amount of room and the food is good! but in my personal opinion, when the people start piling in there is not enough comfortable seating which given the amount of room; in my mind should be an easy fix

Great spot in North Park, has some really fun themed music nights, and a few of the bartenders there worked for up scale places, and can make some amazing cocktails.

Dirty tables and seats the booths are filthy and Ive been here since 1:50pm and its 2:40 and still no drink the bartender is ignoring everyone thinks sitting at the table and eating food and kissing her boyfriend is more important.

Its a good bar if you like scotch on the rocks at a younger venue

The best bar experience Ive ever had in my life. Bar tender was on point and knew how to cater.

This place use to be cool and a lot of people still have faith but it’s an uphill battle with the over-priced-watered-down-drinks and rude staff.

Great tasting food but they need waiters, Bartender does it all.

Great burgers. Plenty of screens showing all games in progress. Nice neighborhood hangout/pub.

The bar tender was very hospitable and nice.The cocktails are great too.

On Saturdays they have happy hour good prices and great burgers 😋👍

No where to sit asked security could we add a table and was told couldn’t. Shortly after they added two tables really never again 👎🏽

Friendly service and pleasant atmosphere. Food was ok. Food service from the kitchen was very slow.

Went on a Wednesday night and everything was standard. Nothing great or terrible to say about this well rounded staple in the North Park night life.

Very good night club I suggest it to anybody good atmosphere just all-around good
