Such a great experience!!! Went for my 18th birthday with a group of friends and what an absolute blast. The bouncers and security were so so nice. Everyone who was there dancing were also so nice. Felt super safe and just had a great night. Only thing is it is small so it’s hard to dance once it gets super crowded.

A unique bar/club in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor! Parking is tricky, but there is a garage close by. Streets are well lit with busy foot traffic and security present at Necto. Different nights, different themes! Friday is Pride Night, this can get lit pretty fast, so come early!

Always love coming here! Definitely recommend! I love how the security is always on top of things and always there if you need them. Staff is so friendly as well. I love it here and always have fun when I come. They deserve the five star cause even the events they be going above and beyond and the dj knows how to get the crowd going. It’s not negative is drinks are a little expensive but whatever. I love it here.

Last night was my 21st birthday and my first time in a club. Initially, I was anxious, but as soon as I entered the vibes were very positive and I felt safe. All of the bartenders were very sweet and the drinks were very yummy and not very expensive. The bouncers were very sweet and I could tell they make sure everyone is safe. The music was top tier. Bathrooms were clean. I drove almost 2 hours to visit Necto and I would double it if I had to. I’m already planning on coming back next Friday. 10/10 recommend.

Went here with some friends and my partner. While we were leaving (June 29 around 12:45) there were a group of guys gathered around their friend who was throwing up on the sidewalk. They were all asking for help. My friend asked if any of them had water. One of the guys held his Big Gulp above their friend’s head yelling at us, “should I dump it on him??” over and over again. My partner tells him to give him the water to drink, to which the guy replied “hey queer, should I dump it on his head?” repeatedly. My partner and I began to walk away, and they continued to yell homophobic slurs as we walked away. The one guy kept yelling at us to “find our sexuality elsewhere”. Several of the guys then proceeded to follow us down the street, until we all went inside a 7-Eleven to lose them.We had just walked out of the club, and were less than 20 ft from the door when this incident occurred. The security guards witnessed everything and did nothing. How useless of a security guard do you have to be to not do anything about an almost hate crime occurring outside of your club during Pride Night?

Overall enjoy coming here but I’ve been disappointed by the music lately. A lot of poorly mixed sped up songs. Would really appreciate something more danceable.

My friends and I were at Necto for the last Pride Friday of the year. We left around 12:45, and we walked outside past a group of boys whose friend was throwing up on the sidewalk and they asked for help. When we stopped to help them, they realized that at least one of my friends was queer, and started yelling homophobic slurs at us.The whole time they were yelling at us, and we were trying to defend ourselves, Necto’s security was standing less than 20 feet away from us not intervening at all. Homophobic slurs or not, they didn’t try to help a Necto customer (that looked like a minor) right next to the door that was throwing up and obviously in the first stages of alcohol poisoning, and they definitely didn’t try to help de-escalate the situation where my friends were being borderline hatecrimed.My friends and I ended up walking a little over a block away, and we had to go into the 7-Eleven to hide while we waited for our ride, because some of the group yelling at us started following us. If Necto’s Security would’ve helped us since we were right outside the door to the club, we maybe would’ve been able to be in a much safer situation. Instead, they chose to watch the whole ordeal, and not step in in any way.I’m truly disappointed that my friends and I had to have our night ruined and turned into a potentially very dangerous situation because Necto’s security wouldn’t step in and help two groups of customers at their club when they needed security’s help.

I am so disappointed at this place. I have a medial condition in my stomach that makes me throw up sometime and they kicked me out even after I showing them my medical record and told them that I don’t drink. I think it is really messed up to kick people who have medical condition out without accommodation even when they have proof. I always loved coming to this place but after I found out they discriminate against people with medical condition I really don’t think I can come here again because they will end up kicking me out again

I have been going to Necto for a year now, and have experienced every night they have. Pride Friday’s, Frequency Saturday’s, or Factory Monday’s have been a weekly ritual for me since I started going, mostly going to Factory! Staff is awesome and will easily recognize you if you come around a lot. Zero, Donovan, and Tink are some of the best bartenders to see or get drinks from. Bouncers/management you’ll come to know and love are Tucker, Liam, Lando, JD, Ethan, Money and more. Photographer Jay/Misanthropia is fun to work with and a total sweetheart. Overall an amazing place to meet friends, whether it be patrons or staff!

Met a friend here. The line was long but the door security (Shaun) and his crew worked fast and efficient and it went quickly. The bar staff were fast and friendly and the drinks were half of before 10 which helps a lot. The music was banging. I was there on a Saturday. Scoob was a great dj and had the dance floor jumping (literally). My favorite part was Dj joeyp scratching, and the hip hop DJs in the red room. Overall id give this place two thumbs up. No fights to be seen. No drama. This is the place to be on Saturday night💪💪💪

I was touched inappropriately by a “man” and it turned into a whole altercation. The “man” got kicked out but was with a whole group of friends. My friend and I were told very politely (but not forced) told it’s in our best interest to leave because the group of friends weren’t happy with us. As we were leaving the whole group of men were waiting outside for us (about 6-8 people). My friend and I are women.Sean/Shawn is a security hard who is an angel sent from above. He made sure to escort my friend and I all the way to my vehicle with another security guard. The whole staff was amazing and handled everything so well even after I threw a drink on the man who touched me. I was never blamed or felt like I was in my wrong by any of the staff. THANK YOU!!!!

We are a greek life organization on campus and hosted our recent date party at Necto. They were extremely accommodating and the venue offers a heated back patio, Photo Booth, and 2 bars, which members loved. We highly recommend having private events here.

Worse place ever.I asked to step out to grab something from the car, and they okeyed me as long as I had the hand band.I came back after 6 minutes, and they said I couldnt go inside.That was the supervisor who refused granted the girl who was there told him she approved me.On a different note, a man fell on the ground outside the place, and they realized that they didnt call 911 until 11 minutes later.

Been twice now and cant wait for the rewind this weekend love the energy and the bartenders are amazing and friendly and can make a great drink when you dont know what you want best nightnout ever!!!

I had the pleasure of working with Nick and Scot to host a fundraiser for a mental health nonprofit. Not only were they accommodating, they provided the venue at cost so we could maximize our donation.On the day of the event, I had nothing but positive experiences with every staff member I met. We ended up exceeding our fundraising goal and got a lot of positive feedback from attendees.Overall, Necto is under incredible management and well definitely be back to host other events.

Necto is fantastic. They put on great shows, the crew (including security) is wonderful, and the MC Eddie keeps the energy up all night. I drive an hour to get here and Id easily double that to come here.

If youre looking for where the people are on Friday nights, look no further then Necto. Pride Fridays are always buzzing with people on the upstairs and downstairs dance floors. Yes, I did say two dance floors! Ive been going to Necto since last May and its always been clean and the staff have always been so friendly! One time there were some guys that were following my girl friends and making them feel uncomfortable. I told a staff member and the situation was quickly handled. Necto is definitely a safe and inclusive place. My favorite place to be though is downstairs in the Red Room. DigiMark, the DJ for the Red Room is always playing banger after banger that me and my friends love to dance to. Ive also been blown away by how many events Necto has on Fridays! It feels like theyre always bringing in special guests, having themed nights, and having lots of drag shows.Though there are things they can improve on, like providing water at a lower cost or for free. My friends and I always learned to drink a water bottle before coming in and we havent really had any issues with thirst. It was just a little annoying the first time we came and had to find out the hard way. Other than that, if you havent already. Check Necto out! Or if you have gone to Necto and it wasnt your vibe, try going on pride Fridays! Because it does make a difference. I’ve never had a bad night here. Drinks are affordable, music is great and the vibes are always there. Zero is my favorite and Sean is always such a nice security guard, making me feel safe and secure. I love necto and I will keep coming back… you should too!

Security is great, admittedly had a bit too much to drink and there was someone acting really weird with me, security was a huge help! The whole place is lovely, Ive never had any issues that could have been any of the employees faults

My group wasn’t allowed in because a joke was made between our group and because a sensitive “gay” term was spoken we could no longer go in even though the joke was between us only and we all were laughing. The Bouncer was power tripping because of course… he just so happened to be gay thus… it was offensive so you can’t go in? Never heard of something so pathetic lol so much for freedom of speech funniest part is NOBODY was behind us in line too. So it’s not like we were being rude and none of us were loud. We were just getting in a SIMPLE joke was said only pertaining to my group ONLY that he eavesdropped on and the bouncer just decided “you can’t come into my club” as if he’s an owner🤣🤣so honestly 0/10 because we were ready to drop money, but this dude ruined it so we just had a blast at scorekeepers instead, which actually had a HUGE line. All this dude had to say was something like “have a good time if you wouldn’t mind just don’t speak like that” like a mature adult would’ve been ideal, nice, understanding, and actually effective for future notice too. There would be no negative energy, you would’ve gotten our business, everyone wins.We will come back another day and if this guy still kicks us out even though we purposefully won’t even say anything then this will go a step further because at that point that’s seriously messed up.—Message to the owner: if when we come back everything is all good. I’ll give a 4 star and dock 1 for the bouncer, but right now easily a 1 star this was just weak and childish to do as an adult. Trust me idc to be dramatic, but that is such a lame way to lose business. Learn to mind your own business like a typical person and understand that people and in our case long term friends talk to each other how they want especially when it’s not even loud nor obnoxious it is not your job as a bouncer to control someone’s vocabulary unless they are for example using hate speech etc I get that. Not simply because you want to overhear somebody that’s just weird and trying to cause potential power trip situations.

This venue does incredibly well keeping a professional space for performers and audience alike. Best drag shows, best staff, best venue!

Love this place! Just started going here like every Saturday & its a great atmosphere. Great air while dancing, heavy security & the music is good. Wish they played more hip hop though. Its definitely fun !

While we were walking towards Necto a random guy came and joined our group and said he’s coming with us to party and we just said whatever and let him walk with us but upon entry, we were all able to get in fine except for my cousin and the stranger who followed us. The random was arguing with security and I guess since my cousin was in the back close to him, they didn’t want to let him in either. I had to go to her and ask what the problem is and they just kept saying they were told not to let him in but how is that possible when he has never been there and he wasn’t even intoxicated? And they just kept brushing me off saying “sorry he’s not getting in so step out of the line, we have to keep it moving”! BUT THEN Chris, who seems to be the head security, came out and we told him what the problem is and he confronted the lady and guy who wouldn’t let us in and she wanted to say “Oh he seemed intoxicated to me” SURE LADY. But thankfully we got in so I wanted to leave a great review to CHRIS for de-escalating and taking his time to listen to us.

I love this place so much if you want to feel safe and respected on a night out come here on a monday night. Zero is a tremendous bartender. Liam the manager and staff will make sure youre okay throughout the night. Come here and support.

Tried rating this place fairly. Ive only been here a couple hand full of times and before i was 21. I always attended the industrial nights with my friends from high school years back. The other nights wasnt really my crowd nor is night clubs really my Scene. Never had a bad time just not my type of place. I prefer more a sit down and hang type of place.Updated my rating since my last visit which was awhile ago but do remember my last experience was definitely the best I had there.

By far the best night Club in the Midwest. It has space to move around the atmosphere completely beats out the DC nightclub scene and the prices are better to. The only other nightclubs I’ve been to that can compare are in Austin Texas. New Orleans, Louisiana, and New York.

Listen, Saturday night was an eventful night but I have to give credit to all the staff that was able to support a guy that got injured and all that. They told everyone to back up and I told them to do the same. Me and the staff were telling EVERYONE to back the ef up and give the staff room to make sure this guy was okay. This place ROCKS with safety and professionalism with helping people to make sure they are safe. Sure, I lost a shirt in the process but it was for the best since the guy needed it :). Was there for my 21st, and let me tell you it was the best but in the end it was a fun experience and I was able to help the person in need. Of course I wasn’t allowed back in which is understandable for everyone but I’m glad everyone was able to make it out safely. Again, props to the staff and everyone that was able to help me in this situation. Everyone did great!!! All the horror stories you hear are FALSE and I will definitely be making a return to this place. The bouncers were hella respectful and all the security was too. Sure they can get a lil cranky at times but you gotta understand of how hard of a job they really have. They HAVE to be cranky (by cranky I mean intimidating but if you’re on their good side they are super nice) to ensure everyone is safe and I’m glad to say the guy that was injured is okay :). If they weren’t intimidating more fights would happen. Love this place to death fr. Best employees and people you’ll ever encounter!

Ive known about this place about 10 years now and only just went recently. I think the 18+ age limit left me confused on the vibes but this place is really so fun and I loved their pride Fridays with local girls and featured queens from Drag Race! I wouldve gone a long time ago if I had any idea it was so queer friendly!

We hosted a private party at Necto 2 weeks ago and it was a hit! The management we super supportive throughout the entire process which helped the event run smoothly. The drinks were great and the dance floor was packed all night! A great way to end our weekend

Liam is a great guy. Best costumer service I’ve ever received in my entire life. He deserves a raise straight up. Costumer service is top tier, 100% tip going his way.

This is my favorite club in Michigan, by far. This is mostly due to the wonderful staff headed by Nick Caron. Customer service comes first here, and Nick continually goes above and beyond to make a great experience, and has the best communication. The music is always on point and there’s always a great vibe going on. Security keeps it very safe and bartenders make excellent drinks. Also, the location is very clean and has a fun atmosphere with great crowds. Will continue to go back and have an awesome time here!

I worked with the team for 2 years organizing events with our school club. Polite, professional and involved. Great experience with the staff and the club itself is very spacious and has a soothing atmosphere, good music and soft lights. Great spot

I havent been here in like 14 years I do remember having a blast my question is can I still go here even if Im 40years old now Im a little self-conscious about going because of my age. Otherwise Im fully recommend this to anybody

There are typically more security guards than there are patrons, and they will look in the bathroom stalls at you.

I went to this place on a Saturday and I found staff to be pleasant! Having a professional staff is half the battle and they had it. Security walks through bathroom and is nice about it.. Frfr, I was surprised at how good the music was in the Red Room- Dance music, so good.. DJ probably doesnt get the recognition he should, and of course the bar is huge!!I Did not enjoy the music on the main dance floor, mostly rap, so for me I did not give 5 stars, however young crowd did enjoy upstairs music; girls enjoyed the music in red room. $7 well drink, $10 cover. Other bars in the area charge 5 and $10 as well.

I was in Ann Arbour visiting for a weekend and went to Necto. I was glad that as someone under 21 could go in ( with cover and wrist band) and still enjoy the night life. The photographer Reno was AMAZING and captured the best pictures of us before the drag performance ( which was AMAZING). Most people gravitated to the outdoor area which left the dance floor bare and less energetic. it was hard to join people outside as the hallway leading outside was full and trickled with vomit. I also was very surprised and disappointed that cups of water were not free. Especially with the obvious amounts of under influenced guests, not providing water highly turned me off.

This was my first time at Necto and we went on Pride Friday and we had a great time. Drinks were generous and fairly priced. The crowd was very friendly. Bouncers were everywhere but I never saw them give anyone a hard time. Oddly the smaller Red Room was playing better dance music and was more crowded. Im 45 miles away but still hope to make it back soon; On Friday of course!

Last night was my first and last time here. My drink was spiked by a man who wouldn’t leave me alone and security made my entire group leave because of it. Ruined my group’s entire night and I felt horrible for my friend because it was her birthday.

Entertaining nightclub! i love their pride nights on fridays and their drag events with both local and larger drag stars are a blast and a wonderful experience of queer culture. i’m taking a star off because at 18 i had the 30+ year old pride night dj in my dms on grindr

I was disrespected several times in this bar last night, I was drinking my beer quietly and I went to ask a worker where the bathroom was? At that moment he called another and took my bracelet without reason, so I decided to continue having some beers again these two characters arrived with more staff members as if I were a criminal without having done anything and they took me out without leaving me finishing my beers despite having paid for them. The worst bar Ive been to in my life and where I was humiliated for no reason

Thank you for a great time Friday. We had good communication leading up to our event. We got a vip booth and got to skip a really long line. We were greeted promptly and escorted to our booth and explained the services and how things worked. The club had good energy. We were celebrating my wife’s (milestone) birthday with a group of 12 friends. A really fun time was had by all. As let’s say older gusts we didn’t feel too out of place! The patrons and the staff made everyone feel welcome. The costume party was so fun (Halloween). Being a Pride night was added fun. And the combination of the two was just delightful. The club has multiple levels with different dj’s and music. And the service was outstanding. Big thanks to your servers; the two people that took care of us. Not sure their names. Half my party loved the male dark angle/ouije board male server and the other half loved that cute red devil girl. She looked fabulous in her little outfit. Oh my. Both were fun, festive and really good at their job. You should be thankful to have them working for you. Thanks again and we will be back for more!

This place is truly awesome. My wife and I go here almost every Saturday. We always get the VIP section when we go for just us two and it’s great! Alexis is the absolute best, and always makes sure to check on us and refill our drinks, and make sure we are taken care of in the VIP section. Always request her, because her personality and customer service is spot on. Nick is who we always communicate when we want to reserve the VIP booth. He is incredibly professional and friendly and his communication is wonderful. He always greets us when we are there and makes sure to take care of us whenever we need it. Nick is one of the reasons why I recommend this place so highly, because he takes care of so many different aspects of the club and still makes sure to give you that personal care. Nick and Alexis are the stand-outs, but the rest of the staff do a great job making sure everything goes smoothly and that the atmosphere stays fun for the club environment. There’s enough security to make sure that nothing goes wrong, but it does not get in the way of the club fun at all. I would suggest getting the VIP when you can, because you get your own private seating area and the bottle service and extras and the entire experience is definitely worth the pay. The club and facilities are always very clean, and i would highly recommend this Necto for a great time.

I went specifically for a drag show on one of their Pride Nights. The staff were all very courteous and bartenders were always quick to serve drinks. Cheap booze and decent music were a plus, but the DJ needs to learn to adjust levels on the fly. The little performance area was wonderful and the local queens were fantastic, friendly and fun to watch. Would easily recommend coming here for Friday night events at least.Note that this was in the off-season when far fewer students were around, so I dont know how rowdy it gets during the school year or how the crowd is on the other nights.

First and foremost,, all the employees were super cool and the bartenders were cool, howeverrr im early 20s but you can definitely tell its 18+, bunch of kids doing kid things and the djs were not good at all. Great concept, poor execution

Necto Pride, on Friday nights is by far one of the best experiences that anyone should have. The main dance floor is super packed, with some of the best music by DJ Eddie. He keeps the music flowing, keeps you sweating, and works tirelessly week after week bringing in the music. He definitely deserves a raise or something; as he is always on the lookout for hot entertainment and an even better production from the week before. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be coming back to Necto Pride each week. So a great big thank you goes out to DJ Eddie.

We were at Necto last night for our kids UMich 2XS bar night for hip hop crews. The place was packed to the rafters and the energy was amazing. Nick and Alexis took great care of us so we had a great view for the show The took the time with us during a hectic time and made our night. Those 2 can think on their feet and make things happen. They determined as soon as i walked in that I was not what they wanted to let in. I guess they have a standard on the type of people they let in.

Went to UM but never went clubbing. Came here a few years after graduation and it was alright. Saturday night music was pretty terrible, venue was quite fitting, drinks were priced moderately but tasted great (other than the $4 waters), tons of staff on premises. If youre looking to go clubbing, you could definitely do worse (looking at you, Ricks).

Great place to dance with friends or by yourself as long as your having a great time. Drinks are good and fairly priced. Love it!

Necto is a really nice club and Friday nights always leave me feeling seen, appreciated, and safe, but music could be TEN times better and maybe switch up the DJs? Instead of the same DJ playing the same old boring songs from fifteen years ago. So many new queer artists who make DANCE music for DANCE clubs. I only go to necto for pride Fridays, but lately it’s lost the flare I like. Also the bartenders are always really great, bouncers and security is full of hot guys too♥️

Love the vibes here, but the bouncers need to chill out. I bought 2 drinks for $42 & apparently I was “too drunk” to drink them after I bought them, literally 30 seconds after i get them a bouncer came up and takes them & poured them out. Which resulted in me getting kicked out because i wasn’t very happy about that. Also I’ve never seen 2 doubles be $42 at a club like that. Very ridiculous & will never come back

The music prior to midnight was pretty good. idk what happened after midnight because it turned into 2012 type music and the people there were kinda rude(patrons not staff). maybe just the area but it wasn’t a completely terrible experience i just personally wouldn’t come back. 2 drinks were $40 also

This is definitely my favorite club! I’ve been going here for a while now and I’ve never had a bad experience. The staff here go above and beyond whenever we come in. I feel safe whenever I am here because the security is always on top of things. Nick and Charlie are always very friendly and Heaven rocks!! The music is always lit!

Necto is AMAZING! The staff is incredibly kind and considerate. The venue is so fun and really inclusive. Ive always felt very welcomed in this space. I lost my phone at Necto once and they were extremely helpful in getting it back to me. Amazing people!

Your going to be sad when you dont have access to any food well you are here, not even a bag of chips. You want a bottle of water? Thats $4 sir. Then the staff will continually walk by and stare into your soul for no reason other than intimidation. The djs play the worst music. They also started basically strip searching every person walking into the door now so get ready to spread em! What an uninviting environment.

Necto is one of my favorite spots in Ann Arbor!!!! Not only are their events wildly enjoyable, but the staff is super friendly and quickly accommodating whenever something is out of order. I left my purse here the other night by accident and they kept it safe for a few whole days upon my retrieval, and were very nice and understanding about the whole situation.

Necto has been a home place for me for years the staff is completely amazing and I appreciate that anytime I’ve ever had a problem or issue within the club they have handled it promptly and professionally ! They have great djs!!! Dj yoda and dj skoobE and maestro are all very professional and not only that they are some of the kindest human beings I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting ! The bartender are all extremely professional and they are swift and efficient with service which makes getting a drink from them so great they even do tricks !!!! Which is super cool ! The management team I have nothing but respect for and can say proudly ! Overall I’d rate this place 10 stars if I could because it’s definitely my favorite place to go and I’ve never received anything less then love attending . I’d recommend this to anyone and definitely would say this is the top club in Ann Arbor !!!

The house cast is outstanding, bartenders are fantastic and all the staff is really great. Always a great time and a fun crowd. Special guests have been phenomenal.

2023: The new pride Friday DJ is amazing!2022: The entry price increased from $5 to $20… not worth it unless there’s a guest performer you really like.2017: The music on the main floor on Pride Fridays are stale, same beat, one note remixes. The good music is in the Red Room. Other than that its a great place to hang out and the bartenders are quick and friendly. Get the fish bowl.

The people that worked there were rude and very insistent that you tip. And I work in customer service as well and I tipped because of that but for them to be like “you do know you can tip us right?” To other people is inappropriate. Also the 20 dollar upcharge on entry if you aren’t 21 is kind of dumb. They do it because we can’t buy alcohol but I still bought drinks so weird. Also it’s a bit dirty, especially the mens restroom. Just not worth it in all honesty. Only highlight was the kind woman that sat in the front getting people in. Now she deserved the tip money the rude bartenders were asking for.

The Necto is always a good time, whether its a night out for dancing & drinks with the girls or their annual Halloween party! Great friendly environment & staff :)

They literally kicked my friend out because she didnt respond to the security while she was on the toilet?? She has IBS, so of course shes gonna be stuck there. And then they kept rushing her, like she can control how fast she can go number 2??? Dont waste your money here!!!!!

The bartenders are amazing however the atmosphere is iffy. Lots of pervy guys that will grab on you. Not necessarily the clubs fault but still the people there are eh.

Went to Necto Pride night and asked for accommodations, as I live with chronic pain and have limited mobility due to it. Necto ensured I had access to seating, restroom, and water all evening so I could enjoy the drag show with the least pain possible. It was so kind! It should be the standard for all Pride events and others should take note on how to increase access and include everyone in our spaces. Many thanks to Nick especially who personally met us at the door to welcome us in.

I will never be back to this “establishment”and I’m going to make sure everyone I know is aware of what actually goes on at “Necto”especially after reading one specific review before leaving this review! It sure seems like that one of your male bouncers has a problem staying out of the WOMENS restroom, I had a friend go last night and while using the restroom, she saw a male “employee” peeking thru the restroom stalls! This really goes to show that you do not take any complaint’s serious if this is still happening, and all the other stuff that isn’t properly resolved in the end that you keep on getting bad reviews for lol!

Decent place to get cheap drinks and dance. Their outdoor courtyard is nice for some fresh air in between songs. Nothing special though, crowd can be rowdy at times and the dance floors can get packed! Definitely attracts a younger crowd.

This was my favorite club when I was attending EMU and living in Ann Arbor. I recently came back to check it out and stayed all night. The amount of bars they had made it so that I wasnt ever waiting to get a drink even though it was packed. Red Room is my favorite place in the whole bar.

We have been hosting our annual Halloween party here for years and they always do a fantastic job. Very easy to work with, great decorations and drink ideas and very trustworthy. They made it easy for us to find a DJ and the made the process very seamless. Would recommend for large events!

By far, one of the best venues that Ive seen a small concert at. Every single staff member was super friendly & professional. Dave, the VIP guy is amazing! Chris, the gentleman working at the door that night, was so personable! To all the staff there (wish I could remember more names) thank you so much for a great night!!!

I planned an event for over 600 people at Necto and it was the easiest, most seamless experience! Necto staff are incredibly professional, timely, and took care of everything for me so I could enjoy the event. This is my third time working with them for large scale events and I cant recommend them enough! Great space, great staff, and fantastic bartenders.

I used to love this club and have been coming here on pride night for years. I will not be returning after my experience a few weeks ago, which included being followed into the women’s bathroom by male bouncers when I shared a stall with a friend who wasn’t feeling so hot. I assume he thought we were drinking in the bathroom, but considering we are both 22 and obviously had wristbands I’m not sure what the issue would have been with that anyways. Made us extremely uncomfortable.My group all paid cover and bought expensive fishbowls. One of my friends ended up losing his ID at the club, keeping in mind he still had his wristband. Despite this he was singled out of the crowd for some reason, maybe because we were all buying/sharing all our drinks with him for his birthday. When a bouncer asked for his ID and he no longer had it EVEN THOUGH HE STILL HAD HIS WRISTBAND he was told to leave and my barely sipped on $15 drink was taken away from me?? I literally do not understand. He obviously couldn’t have gotten into the club on the first place if he wasn’t of age. We are regulars to this establishment and though I’ve had issues with the bouncers being extra in the past, this was truly unacceptable all around and we are done with this venue.

We liked the venue and the drinks. Some of the regulars here are a bit friendly so just be aware going in. Would recommend if you want to try something new but not if you are looking for a more classy club environment.

I went lastnight! PLEASE DO NOT USE YOUR CREDIT CARD WHEN YOUR AT THE BAR . They say you have to have a $10 minimum when using it and they encourage you to open a tab. My drinks came to$12.34 and that’s what I signed for on the receipt when I closed my tab... I came a total of three different times for drinks before I closed my tab! And I knew how much my tab was before I told him to close it out! The next day I check my bank account and He charged me $25.00!!! That’s $12.66 more than what my receipt said when I signed it.! This has happened to a friend of mine when she used her card the last time I came on my birthday! The bartenders should not be scamming people like this! They do this to people like that because they think people are too drunk enough to notice! Which I think is SORRY! Do better Necto!

I hosted a drag show fundraiser at Necto in February 2022. I rated Necto five stars because the management communicated clearly and early on with me; were readily available before, during, and after the event for planning and debriefs; and consistently hospitable. Scot, the owner, cheerfuly connected me to local talent for a DJ and drag queen host. Charlie, the night GM, answered all my questions night of and guided me through a daunting process. My organization will definitely host our events with Necto again because of the ease of doing business with them, their responsiveness, and general warmth and competency.

Necto is incredible. It has adapted incredibly to every wild theme that my MBA class could come up with and it has some of the best staff in Ann Arbor. Also, I lost my keys in October and literally, the manager Scot held on to them until I returned in freaking April. I love this spot. Ive never gone and not had a good time. I would definitely recommend it if you are visiting Ann Arbor.

I always have such a GREAT time here!!! I would recommend to anyone in Ann Arbor to come to necto. It’s such a welcoming environment, great DJs and security is great at their job!! My favorite club and the only one I will go to in Ann Arbor :)

Best nightclub in the area. Good mix of people and staff is friendly. The bar is always stocked with quality spirits. VIP and bottle service are definitely worth the money.

My favorite bar ever. Just had my birthday celebration a month ago and it was absolutely amazing. The staff went above and beyond for me, they’re like family and it’s always so much fun coming here every Friday night.

I used to go to college nearby and the only thing that felt like home was coming to factory on Mondays!I miss dancing and the awesome music. I’m no stranger to gothclubs in Chicago, they do not compare to necto. The drinks are so much better and cheaper of course. The staff is friendly, the people are friendlier And more open minded, also, Halloween was the best experience ever. Hands-down best Halloween I ever had in my life.Almost forgot to mention, the DJs will actually take your Requests into consideration. That never happens in Chicago. They play what they want, and what they used to play was not even that good. There was never a variety! I guess you could call me somewhat of a music connoisseur, and I noticed that new fresh music was always played as well as old favorites. Industrial, EBM, synthpop, Shoegaze, darkwave.. and so forth.As somebody who’s extremely introverted, I can dance here and mind my own business if I want to. I was never harassed by any men.I think you’re working on re-opening? Please keep us updated, I will make the drive as soon as you open (I hail from NW Indiana.) Dying to visit once again!!!!

Really like the bartenders here. Im partially deaf and have a hard time communicating. At other clubs, bartenders are sometimes impatient with me and just head off to the next customer if I ask what? too many times. This doesnt happen at Necto, and I never struggle to get served.

UPDATE: Necto management reached out right away to help solve this issue ... they truly care about Customer Security and are on top of it! We look forward to visiting next time were in Ann Arbor. Well done, folks!BEWARE - had several bogus charges from this club - they apparently support criminal use of stolen cards by not requiring a physical card or checking Identification.

A nice nightclub... before the creeps get there. As a student, I came here a good number of times and mostly enjoyed myself. Prices arent bad, especially if you can get free cover. There are a good variety of nooks are crannies in the club to hang out with friends or listen to different types of music. The theme nights are great. However, if you are on the main dance floor (especially) there are guys who dont respect boundaries and will grope women and not let them go. As a result of this, despite my straight orientation, I ended up coming only on gay night.

I DJd there last night for the Factory Monday 18th Anniversary bash, and it was a total blast. Factory is a safe, diverse space with great music and great people. Love it!

High class service at a high class venue. Tons of options on many different nights to suit your tastes. From college night to hosting some of the worlds biggest and hottest DJs, Necto definitely never ceases to impress me. Ive gone to many many venues and have had varying experiences at all of them, but Necto ALWAYS consistently delivers to meet or even exceed my expectations. The atmosphere is always intimate and inviting; the music is always on point with a sound system that is one of the loudest Ive heard (Ive even seen them bring in MORE speakers for big shows which truly makes it an amazing experience in such a close knit venue); the bar staff can pour all types of drinks and they even sell a good variety of micro brew beers! Bouncers control the crowd and are very quick to put out any fires that may come up, but Ive found this to be quite rare. Overall, Id have to rate Necto as one of Metro Detroits BEST Nightclubs to attend. I always make it a point to stop in when Im in town.

I’ve been going here since I was 18. I love it. One of the best clubs. On top of it the drinks are the best I’ve had at a club. I’m 25 now so no worries I’m legal lol I’ve met so many great friends there. A must go

Went last night and an amazing time. Spent many hours dancing and had fun. The service was nice and the drinks were outstanding. Get the fishbowl. Only complaint was how warm it got there so make sure to dress accordingly.

Floor is obnoxiously sticky and makes it hard to dance. It also gets crazy hot in there with little air circulation. It needs an update on this.The bar tenders don’t tell you how to start a tab so that they can charge you more. Bathrooms are dirty.The upstairs room that is outdoors, super nice.

I would absolutely recommend Necto to anyone looking for a good time at a good price. With drink specials on drinks that are already less expensive than most bars, great staff, and music that will make you want to go all morning long Necto is 10/10 the place to be! Friday nights are my favorite!

It’s a decent place but any place that refuses to serve a free cup of water although there’s a tap deserves 1 star. If you ask for $30 for entry atleast include a complimentary cup of water. Instead I must shell out $4 for a bottle of water. Hell no! Go to ricks or skeeps, they treat their customers with respect

Horrible club. The bartender seemed like an ok guy. We were there during their hash bash celebration. Private party in the downstairs area when I offered to take photos the bartender said that would be great. Got approval to get my camera and do some shooting. After returning and setting up some test shots. Some random guy pulls me to the side threatens me. Says I wasn’t going to give them the photos. The bouncer bartender and even the club must have been covering their own mistake because they acted like I snuck the camera and myself into the venue. Which was total lie they were patting everyone down. Long story short they intimidated me into deleting my cards. And then told me I had to leave but could come back in if I paid another entry fee. Horrible business people. I wouldn’t recommend working with this club full of thugs to anyone. I wish I could leave no stars. Horrible experience

Necto really feels like a big NYC club...even though youre in Ann Arbor. The place is always clean, the bartenders are always professional and nice. They get some great DJs and Drag Queens to perform. Its just an impressive, well run club. If you want a guranteed good time, definitely check out Necto!

I’ve been coming here for years. and I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad time here. me and my friends always come on Friday nights. It feels real welcoming, workers are nice, consider letting your guests smoke mary jane out in the outside room. LOL! oh and they have a great happy hour

I had came here Saturday night 9/28/19 with a few girls and we overall had a pretty good time. However, we were disappointed at the way the first bartender handle a situation on the drink menu. We were handed a drink menu and decided on a fish bowl and he told us it was $15 and we pointed in the book and said no the book says $13 he continued on to tell us that they were going to be getting new menus and that it was $15. That is false advertising. Price changing should not be in until new menus are in. Common law fraud. You could be sued for that. In the future Id suggest that your employees do not argue with your customers.

Great nightclub with multiple floors. Always a blast! Ive seen some great DJs here - Chainsmokers, Matoma, Cookie Monsta & Doctor P, and many more (we do a lot of open-bar events at Necto through the Ross School of Business as full-time students).Even more important than that? One night I lost my wallet there and one of the owners (Nick) was very kind and prompt in coordinating a time for me to pick it up, everything intact. Lot of respect for this place after that - it is not only just another fun club with great shows, but a respectable and caring staff/ownership - that makes all the difference in customer satisfaction and repeat business!Look forward to coming back sooner than later.

I enjoy the music and dance floors. However, the bouncers were rude and presumptuous. They tried kicking my boyfriend out because he handed me my ChapStick on the dance floor, ( Im guessing they assumed it was drugs?) But regardless, they did not handle it properly. Also, I cant stand that they wont give you water! I had to fill up my cup in the bathroom because the bar refused to serve me a cup of water when I was on the verge of dehydration. Definitely needs improvement!

Its been almost 15 years since a Factory night for us, so we werent sure what to expect...But oh dear, such lovely beats to stomp to and such wonderful floors on which to stomp upon; we were not disappointed. 😊🖤

Worst club in the area? Unlike a lot of bars, you can’t leave and come back I wanted to go grab my insulin pen from the car and the security guard told me that I had to pay Another $20 to reenter. I’ll never come here again.

So much fun! Loved the dancing and had some delicious pineapple juice, too! No one there knows how to dance so if you are a newb, you have nothing to fear. Wish they played heavier techno.

I just want to give a warning out to any females going to this club! They do not care about your well being. A man harassed me and put his fingers inside of me, my mom being with me because it was my bachlorette party witnessed this action and throat punched the guy who did it. So instead of calling the cops, the bouncers told my mom they were going to press charges against her unless we leave the nightclub. SERIOUSLY!! They made us all leave, including the guy who did it. The only protection we got, was 1 bouncer who walked us back to our bus. DO NOT GO HERE!

I got a booth on Saturday and had an amazing time, service was spectacular, thank you guys for giving me and my party a great night out!

Was told by a bartender the drink I ordered was was six dollars and was charged over ten(only founder out when I got the bill after 4 drinks). The dance floors smell like BO in a major way. Bad music. 1/5 save your money and time.

Two older handicapped women. Made a date here, not knowing the place... My gf is a wheelchair bound vetran. With a snap of the fingers, a bunch of burly guys appeared and carried her up the half dozen flights of stairs in a heartbeat. Kept an excellent eye on us all night, and carried her all the way back down; no muss, no fuss. Excellent, excellent staff!!Everyone we met was polite and interesting. Wonderful time. Highly recommended.

This club was by far the worst I have ever been too!!!!!!! If you want to have a good time I would visit any other place in Ann Arbor but this one. I dont know where to start from the horrible bouncers that harass people as they walk by, to paying for a so called VIP booth to find out half our party couldnt get in. You ask why they couldnt get in? I will tell you it starts with the bouncers that turn away people for wearing collard shirts and khaki shorts which was one excuse of many....... They will discriminate against anyone and wont think twice about turning down money... They must be a top notch establishment one might try to say!!! no, not really at all... Everything in that night club was far from being top notch.. fortunately there are many other options that actually are top notch where everyone can have a good time but can only be accomplished at any place but this one.

I went to the bartender and asked for a glass of ice water towards the end of the night. She told me they only had bottled water and that it was $2, no problem I handed her my card because I had no cash. She then told me it was a ten dollar minimum. I’m not paying $8 for a bottle of WATER. Its really irresponsible for a business that serves alcohol to make it so difficult for your customers to get water. On top of that the bartender was RUDE. No wonder why Necto hasn’t been the number one club in Ann Arbor for years.

Honestly my biggest complant was the lack of seating, i know its a night club and most people go to dance, but i would like to enjoy my drink while sitting, and no im not going to waste my money on a vip booth hell i might have stayed longer and spent more money, if their where somewhare to sit

One of the few places where Ive met cosplayers and steampunks. Ive always tipped the downstairs bartender well and never had a problem with him or any other staff. If people fall on the dancefloor, they dont stay down long because others will quickly help them up. I exclusively go on Monday nights (Industrial), so I cant speak for any other theme night. I love the various theme nights like Goth Prom and Halfway to Halloween.

#1 Nightclub in Ann Arbor hands down. Bar staff is great, Djs are good, and I love that I can take a break from dancing and hit the patio for some fresh air and a smoke. Always a good vibes and a good time.

This is my favorite place to go in Ann Arbor on a Monday night. They play industrial and drumnbass on Mondays and there is a primarily goth/punk/queer crowd. Great drink specials, and you should get a fish bowl at least once.

Wouldnt let me in because I was wearing pants with a drawstring. I was going to a private event, which I had already paid for AND had a ticket for. This is Ann Arbor, Michigan. What is this pseudo-fancy posturing? Necto has never been a fancy club, and I just wanted to dance. Shocked and disappointed. Dont waste your time.

All of the bartenders were incredibly friendly, efficient, and make good drinks, I just wish the jack*ss throwing leftover seltzer into the dancing crowd from the stage wouldve been addressed.

Its Necto. Pricey drinks, adequate music, a bit low-brow but hey, its what downtown has when youre looking to get somewhere with moderate cover and clientele. Make sure to look up the theme of the night online before you go out though - of note, Monday is more heavy and hardcore and bass-driven music, Thursday and Saturday are top 40s, and Friday is LGBTQXYZ+ night, but thats at the time of this review, it definitely changes occasionally.

Pride Fridays are where its at. Good people, good drinks, no drama. Bouncers are always watching out for B.S. and dont tolerate crap, resulting in a fun experience without worrying about safety.Make sure to go to NYPD pizza afterwards!

We come here all the time. With being females we have to be safe, the bouncers are cool and definitely watch what’s going on (good thing) drinks are expensive but worth it

One of the coolest nightclubs in the Ann Arbor/ Detroit area and a must see on Mondays for lovers of Goth/EBM/Industrial music as the DJs are awesome! Great drinks and prices that will not break the bank. This club has something for many lifestyles whether gay or str8!

The music playlist for most nights is mediocre and the sound system is good most nights, but this place is really for the college age crowd and is 18+. Not exactly my thing, but if other people like it then fine by me.

Factory Monday nights are amazing! Fewer people than the weekend crowd, great music and djs- alternative, edm, and more.

Three saturdays in a row, they find one reason, every time, to not let me take my friends in. Youd think me driving 30-40+ min or money on an uber to come enjoy a night with my friends would be possible. Havent even gotten in yet to see if its nice or not. They wouldnt even look at my I.D.

The bouncer that wears the paramilitary outfits to work is a total creep. Hes stalking my friend and wont stop texting her. She even caught him in the ladies room looking through the stall door and shining his flashlight in it when she was using the bathroom! Ladies, be wary if you ever consider stepping foot in this place!

Been racially profiled 2 weeks in a row. with only white people who kept being served. last week i was kicked out - i wasnt mad, i was stumbly and it was 15 min before 2 so w.e. seemed like the guard was bored. this time all the white ppl i was with were drunk af and kept being served and i was pulled aside and told why i wasnt allowed to drink anymore by a security guard. i do not know what the problem is here, but im seriously pissed off. i did nothing wrong. like actually. im fully aware of everything i did tonight and nothing merited this treatment.

Necto is exciting if youre under age with a fake ID or if you just turned 18 and have never been to a club. But once youve gone to other places and done other things, you realize how truly whack the place is. Each night has different themes but if you ask me, every night should be called creeper night. It is creeper city in there! Its an 18 and up club yet you have 35 yr old hairy drunk men everywhere trying to grab on you. If you want to try and avoid creepers, go on Thursday when there are less of them...but chances are you will still get pulled aside and asked to dance by someone twice your age. Beware.

This place is ridicules, the bouncer well door boy is a little races for me. I had to have the manager called down because he called my girl the N word. Im very upset this is my second and last time coming here. The drinks are all watered down and fake, I asked for a red bull and Absolute vodka and I could tell that it was some cheap house crap. They must have filled different liquors in expensive bottles (CHEAP). As far as the very poor management. This guy came down upon my requested and said “you think I care about this?” and of course I got upset then he said “no wonder my man called your girl a N”. DO NOT GO HERE EVER. Id rather go to BigBy across the street.

Some of the best DJ’s in the area! Nectarine (Necto) is an absolutely iconic venue! The real nightclub of ANN ARBOR. Great shows and the staff is very well trained.

Took a break from Necto and now just started going back for pride night to see my favorite drag queens. I go right as doors open so the line isnt long at the door and bar. Bar service was awful though. It took forever to cash out. Do not open a tab here.

This is a terrible club. Ive been here a few times, normally when i end up going its late and there arent a lot of other options. More recently though i went with a big group and we chose necto early in the night because we had people who were under 21 with us. I am 22 years old and when i get to the door the bouncer asks me to LIFT UP MY SHIRT..... wtf? so whatever, i do it and he asks if ive had anything to drink, so i reply yes. He then tells me because i have been drinking i cannot come into the CLUB (verbatim). Ive been to a lot of bars/clubs in the southeast Michigan area and by far this one is the WORST. Spend your money elsewhere.

This place is disgusting. Full of underage people drinking. When I say underage I mean like 15-16 year olds. And creepy ass 50 year old men buying drinks for them. I am in my mid 20s and I felt too old being there. If you have had any sort of moral upbringing you wouldnt enter this place ever. I was appalled by what I saw.

Great Drag Shows on Fridays. Wouldnt go any other night though. They have amazing guests come through all the time. Cant wait to see whos coming next.

Had my drink taken from me, and my wrist band because I asked a friend to hold my drink. On top of that a man shoved his face in my chest and no on did anything after I reported it. If you are going to kick me out for giving a drink to a minor you need to kick out the guy why sexually assaulted me. This place is discriminatory. Never going again.

The dj is AWFUL. Like horrible. Security and staff do not care at all about the young women there. Im 19 and was approached by a 40 year old man who would not take no for answer. When I went to the security for help he ignored me. This will definitely be a one time thing

They tried to tell my my ID was fake and that I wasn’t allowed in because of it. I had the police come and they told them it wasn’t fake then they continued to say they just didn’t trust me. I drove two hours just to go to their club and they acted ridiculous.🤣

Took security an eternity to interfere, not sure where they were but he ended up with a black eye and a broken nose after being held down and beaten by these men. They let every single one of them out with calling the police or filing a report. Its disgusting and so sketchy there had to be all kinds of laws being broken. Honestly considering pressing charges against them for this. DONT GO HERE ITS UNSAFE AND THEY DONT CARE AT ALL ABOUT YOUR WELL BEING.

Dance Club - This club has been here for ages and it is (almost) a staple of the city. It gets crowded easily, but it offers a pleasant atmosphere and pretty good music (there is a theme for everyone).

Necto is an Ann Arbor institution, Friday pride night (since 1984) is always a fun time with people from all backgrounds coming together for the good vibes.

This club is trash…. The music they play is terrible and they’ve kicked me and my friends out multiple times because of security’s personal issues outside of the work place. Over all very unprofessional.

The best place to go for dancing in Ann Arbor hands down, Necto has multiple dance floors, great music, talented bartenders, and friendly staff.

This is hands down the worst venue Ive ever been to in my life. They dont even have a screen. 0 visiuals. Super small, terribly designed. I will never go back to this place and I highly recommend that you dont waste your time visiting this trash.

This place literally doesnt have free water. Like really? Its 130 degrees on the dance floor and you dont give your guests water?! Incredibly irresponsible.

Sold tickets for $30 and still had a line to get in, in the freezing cold. Thats a true travesty if Ive ever seen one. Do not come here for New Years Eve

Went on pride night, had a great time, music could have been better. All the staff were really friendly.

Wouldn’t allow me in on Saturday it was my 18th birthday and my ID didn’t come in the mail yet so I was disappointed at the door.. had to watch my friends go in while I went home

Only real night club in Ann Arbor. Always busy Monday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday. Love the outdoor patio. Always a fun party.

Hate this place. Very bad service and one of their guys pick up my drink in-front of me and it was half full. Their staff are pushing me when I walked next them. Plus when you go out side the door and you already paid you cant get in again unless you pay again.

Factory Monday night is a great time. Not so much other nights but how fun Monday is makes it worth the drive.

Terrible! I was only there about 1.5 hours and someone put drugs in my drink:( The so- called staff treated me as if I was drunk person or someone who was problematic, instead of someone who was very ill and passing out. I almost had to take an ambulance out of this place. No concern for a paying customer at all. I wont ever be back.

Felt my cousin was being discriminated against he was the only person stopped and checked because they said he was sagging but he had on a belt and when he pulled his pants up to his stomach they said he was still sagging too much. SMH
