I come here for the swing dancing and random bands but this weekend will be the last time I go. The website says no cover on the website, yet I was forced to pay for my guest because he was male. It was embarrassing and honestly, the dance floor did not warrant that fee. We had bought CDs from the jazz bands before and supported the crew but the “no cover” on the site should have been honored by the doors people who told me to blame the “owner.” Well alright then, say good bye to your weekday crowd :)

My favorite bar experience while visiting San Francisco - the vibes were immaculate, music was authentic, and bartender (Judith) was a dream. Potentially the best espresso martini Ive had in my life (she made it with rye?!)

I love coming here for live jazz music on Thursday nights! Its a great place to bring your dance friends and if theyre not into dancing theres plenty of space to hang out and enjoy Gauchos music. The drinks are really good and the bar staff is always a delight to chat with.

The Thursday night band is exceptional. Gaucho. And there are a few excellent cocktails on the menu.

I loved this place. Its now one of my new favorite bars. We were there for a private holiday event and I really want to go back. The cocktails were excellent and I loved the 1920s vibe.

Bartenders are very nice people and make greate cocktails. The decoration is cozy and modern with plush chairs. Sound system needs work however. If you come here with a group of friends youd have fun. I came on Friday randomly because my friend was a DJ. It doesnt seam tbus place attracts any locals. I talked to almost everyone and people where from all over the place.

Nice beautiful drinks 🍸 I got cloud 9 which had the butterfly. Dont remember the other drink. Went for Thursday Jazz night, had a really fun time! They also played Charlie Chaplin in the background haha.

Had so much fun last night. This place is awesome. I came on Sunday and it was Latin Night. I’ve been told that they have live jazz on Thursday and different DJs on Fridays and Saturday. Really tasty craft cocktails. It’s 10 out of 10 in my book.

Decodance Bar has a Great Gatsby vibe and decor. It’s elegance is seen throughout the bar even in the smallest details. The drinks are brilliant, distinctive and well built.

Wow, what an upgrade to old Vertigo! The interior is completely new and gorgeous... this is now hands down the classiest and coolest bar on Polk! The DJ booth setup is my personal favorite touch.

I could hang in this bar for hours. Atmosphere is super chill. They play Frank Sinatra kinda music.I had few cocktails of the menu and I have tell you they all were delicious!!!My favorite was whiskey based cocktail that they age in oak barrels. I think name was “Better with Age”.Service was great. I would definitely recommend this place and I’ll be back for sure!Cheers

DecoDance is the new bar in Polk (between Sutter & Post). It has an Art Deco theme interior (hence the name) and the design is classy & elegant with a slight touch of modern. They have excellent selection of cocktails, wine & beer and some nice music to go with the ambience. On top of all that is great, quick & friendly service from all the staff AND owners! 😀You can follow them on fb & Instagram for updates & events.

This is a great little hidden gem. I was visiting San Francisco, when I wandered into this place. At first glance, it may not seem like much, but boy was I wrong!The bartenders here, especially Evan, Judith and Marina are very friendly and make excellent drinks! A special shout-out to Marina, who made me one of the best Old Fashioned’s I’ve ever had.Most nights they have some event going on, so stay for that too! I am definitely coming back when I’m in town.

We were making a birthday party open to the public in DecoDance in February 2023. Everything went super smooth, the owners are super helpful with everything, the cocktails are delicious and the sound system is more than adequate for the place. I also like this venue during the week when it is a lot more quiet. Highly recommended for event organizers and party goers. The atmosphere is unbeatable and very classy.

The space is new and polished, and the bartenders made me and my brother feel comfortable and welcome. The drinks were as beautiful as the decor.

I went to the Machine Girl/Garden DJ set and the sound system is underwhelming. It is a nice cocktail bar, but a terrible venue for music. The atmosphere was warm and intimate, but in addition to poor sound quality, I couldnt help but notice everyone squinting at their bills as they see a $13 basic mixed drink turn into $17 between taxes and a service fee. If you want to charge a service fee for people to drink at a bar, just make that the price of the drink. Although I am interested in their specialty cocktails, I probably wont be back outside of a special event.

Like the name says - it’s a fun dance bar! Bring your friends for a uniquely decorated interior and solid drinks. Check their Instagram if you’re wondering what theme or vibe is going on for any particular night. Lots of space for dancing with some seating available as well.

It was our last night in town and we were looking for a bar with food, very hard to find in this city. We were actually headed to Upcider when we came across Decodance, which is on the street level, below Upcider. Evan was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He let us know we could get food from upstairs so we parked ourselves at the bar at had one of the best evenings. We enjoyed chatting with Evan about baseball and 90s video games. He was so charming! The bar itself is a gorgeous art deco motif that is beautiful. Go here and tell Evan that Ian and Jaz say hi!

In addition to the positive reviews about the ambiance, the real gems here are the bartenders who make Decodance shine — Judith and Angela are expert bartenders.They make me feel wholesome and welcomed like family, making me want to return. The cocktails are made by people who are detail-oriented, and can freestyle if you have something in mind. They even put up with me opening and closing my tab multiple times :)

Definitely a nice spot to go dance and drink with your friends, they have various DJs across the week. Giving only 4 stars because there is not a lot of space, its not a club so there is no coat check, and the cocktails are standard. Its a good vibe though, I like to end the night here after few drinks at some other bars on Polk St.

Some of my best memories are at Decodance! First of all, the place itself is beautiful, very elegant, great for pictures! The cocktails are yummy (my favorite is their lychee martini) but the parties... Well you just can’t miss it 🔥!

My friend and I flew from Vancouver and spent over 170 at this place in one hour. I was sitting 80% of the time we were there and he was having fun singing along. I was flabbergasted when security kicked us out for no reason. The manager told us it was securitys decision and security told us it was the managers decision. They didnt let us back in and when we asked why they kicked us out no one gave a us a coherent reason. They just told us there was a complaint of my friend pushing someone which is untrue cause I witnessed how he was just having fun and not messing with anyone. On top of that we paid with a 100 dollar bill at the entrance and gave $10 tip. They should have given us $50 change and we later realized they only gave us $5. This place is truly reprehensible and full of sketchy, brainless posers. Avoid at all costs.

We loved DeccoDance! Very fun dance music and DJ, great drinks, and not too crowded. While we were there, we met the owner and thought she was great. Well decorated with Euro / Great Gatsby vibes and no cover charge. May be my favorite dance spot in San Francisco!

A nice bar with an old-fashioned atmosphere blended with modern looks. Cocktails are unique. A nice place to either chill or have fun.

AVOID THIS PLACE. Bad drinks and service. Also, the female manager who works here is rude and unethical. She forcefully took away our table and spilled my girlfriend’s drink and offered no apology or replacement. On top of that after sitting at our table for 2 hours she came and kicked us out so her late arriving friends could have our table. Don’t come here if you have any self respect.

A different concept every evening, especially on Friday and Saturday evenings, where talented people from San Francisco gather. There are people dancing and the bartenders are really nice. The cocktails are delicious, made just the way you want them, but also very relaxing. The espresso martini with marshmallow was really delicious! Next time I go to San Francisco, I want to go again.

We loved this place! We ordered two delicious cocktails that were made on the spot and we drank them at the bar, then we went in and there was live music and we were able to sit and listen and watch as there were customers dancing. The truth is that it is a place with a lot of life and it was packed. 100% recommendable!!!

We were only there for 2 ciders. The music was good. Luckily there were no TVs!! Unfortunately it was quite empty, maybe we were there at the wrong time?! Go there, people!!

This is a simply beautiful dance, life music and cocktail bar, furnished in the Art Deco style of the 1920s and very lovingly designed, with friendly staff. Probably one of the most beautiful, tasteful bars ever, where you can also eat delicious food from a good restaurant next door. Nevertheless, they have reasonable prices that you wouldnt expect in a restaurant of this caliber. Cocktails currently cost around $17. Really a great bar of a quality and level that you unfortunately rarely find these days.
